"What do you mean I have to do this?"
"I mean you can't get any pay by sitting around and trying to hoard things in your room!"
"I do other things too boss!"
"Hoarding fan letters from noble girls you steal the hearts of does not count!"
"I -- well, okay. So, I have a few."
"Enough! You need to take some sort of action!"
"Fiiiiine, but, I am probably going to do terribly."
"And that would be par for the course for the Black Bulls!"

The conversation rang through her head as she shivered in the cold air, sniffling while grasping herself in an embrace of a single-person hug, trying to find some sort of warmth by making herself smaller. Chattering teeth of her jaw going into overdrive were ringing out, and the visible plume of her breath held in the air like an eerie and jagged mist from her body constantly shivering. She was dressed for the cold, but she was never used to it. The herald of the heavens needed a warm hearth to curl up with, and some coffee, or tea. And a noble girl to serve it to her. Yeah, that daydream was enough to distract her for but a moment as she walked out of the town, waiting for whoever the second person taking this rescue mission was going to be. She was ready to get a move on.

Cecile, the red-haired former Spade Thief was now a Black Bulls magic knight, serving the kingdom of Clover for her own motives she kept close to the vest (when she wasn't shouting her grand plans loud enough that the heavens she claimed sent her here could hear them!)

Dressed in the mantle of the black bulls, she wore an extra layer of clothing, mostly whites, and grays to blend in with the snow, save for the bright golden embellishing on the black bull cloak and her red hair. SHe was on the verge of sneezing right then and there, but she held herself back. Breathing in that much air to prepare a sneeze was too cold.

"Okay, go out, save some people lost, use golems to dig out the snow. Simple. Come back, get yourself some cocoa. What could go wrong? Right? No need to go one way or the other off the deep end Cece, you're on a fine tipped needle right now, and you're doing alright." SHe mumbled to herself.

There was never a single doubt in his mind. When someone asked for something, for help or charity, duty or sacrifice, he gave. It was always as simple as doing what you can for others. Thoughtless charity like this is what landed this poor boy out in frigid weather with nothing but a jacket, shorts and a cloak. It was the first time he had ever closed his jacket up this year, and he regretted not having a shirt to wear underneath it. He walked alone in the cold, feeling his breath on his hands as he walked with a mild curiosity. Were other places in the world always this cold? He was used to very warm springs and summers, and while this wasn’t horrible, it was most certainly uncomfortable.

Walking in the snow was difficult, without care he could end up slipping and falling on his butt, yet each step gave an oddly satisfying crunch beneath his feet. He smiled despite himself. Although it can be hard to endure sometimes, change is nice. As he came up a small hill he could spot someone standing just beyond it, a person with red hair. He waved to them politely, not really sure who they were. Distracted, he slipped, sliding down the rest of the incline and subsequently planting his face deep in the white fluff. He jumped up quickly, but his face had already been stung red by the freezing temperature. He had gotten close enough now to make his introduction, and he tried to do so through chattering teeth.

“H-H-Hi, I-I’m... Koji.” He would’ve extended a hand to her if he weren’t trying to rub warmth back into his face. The wind gently whipped around them, as a subtle reminder of the snowstorm that had just passed through here.

Two sets of teeth chattering now, that was just nifty, it sounded like the fiesta at Carnivale with how many castanets were clacking away. All they needed now were some fog machines and, nope, they had that, two sets of breath as they spoke to each other and continued to huff in and out air faster than their lungs could handle, the natural response to trying to warm up by breathing faster. Silly human biology that's also stupid, you only get in the way of proper work! Now all they needed were some pretty lights and they could have a winter Carnivale if that was what they were doing, but it wasn't, but they'd get some pretty damn lights with all the magic they'd be using down the line!

"C-ce, c-c-ce, Ce-Cecile! No, it's not tha-that many 'Ce's in line, I'm just-t-t, look it'd be easier if we met up inside a tavern where they have fire, and warmth, and cocoa! And more warmth. WHY ARE WE MEETING OUT IN THE COLD?!" She screamed out suddenly, throwing her arms to the side in a fit of gesticulated rage. Immediately she hugged herself again, acutely aware of the missing warm spots that she had just exposed.

"Y-you know why we're here right? If you're just passing by or not, I need a s-second pair of hands. And the cold is too much for me to wait for another knight. I'm gonna deputize you or whatever! We have some travelers to locate in the cold, okay?"

She turned away toward the direction she had been pointed to, the general direction of those travelers. She readied her grimoire, looking to use her mana of Angelic magic as a general light source, only she was so cold she forgot about her magic's fallen shadow oddity, and it only served to make a nice 'dark light' in the waning light of dusk, "Right, uh, do you have a light? Wanna lead the way? UH, this is awkward..."

It seemed that, no matter what they were doing, the problem was resolved by some other hand of fate pushing a group of magic knights along to encounter the issue before they could reach it. A sour taste left in her mouth while there was a bit of her that was relieved to say the least. Cecile did not want to have to fight those wolves, especially when her only tactic was to run and let her golems do the work, or wait for someone's injuries to happen and patch them up. The black bull girl wanted more than anything to be of use to people. Sure, healing magic was a great thing to have, but when that was your only card to play and you wanted to be on the front lines, it was a source of great frustration to her.

Cecile ambitions were stifled, and put on an indefinite hold while she was caught up in her own head about this. With her past coming to catch and stangle her, she was desperate for some sort of reprieve from her struggles but no, she could heal and summon golems, there was no fighting, even if people were coming to her for a fight.

Alas, it would have to be answered another day
