In this world, Magic is Everything. All people, all races, are granted with the power to perform mystical and magical feats via grimories, mystical tomes granted to each and every child on their 15th birthday. Those blessed by the mana can have their names written down in legend.

The Local Lord has decided to be generous since it is holiday season here in the Kingdom of Clover. He has asked the various Magic Knight Squads to help out with his food drive event. The task is simple, show up, give out food to those who need it and enjoy the sweet warmth of doing a good deed for those less fortunate. Of course the Lord has also stated he will give an ample reward to those who help with the event.

"Everything is theoretically impossible, until it is done!"
Frankie could easily be described as cold or at the least aloof by anyone who knew him. He had a pragmatic view on life that made his motives less then altruistic. Even his joining of the Magic Knights hadn't been born out of any desire to help the people. Rather, he had needed a stable source of income for his experiments and a connection with those in authority that might make it easier for him to work without much oversight. He wasn't exactly a man of the people. However, despite all of that he did have a soft spot where the Forsaken Region was concerned. It was where he grew up and seeing the people struggle everyday had given him ideas on what should be done to help them. However, rather than going around and announcing his intentions to anyone he preferred to keep his thoughts close to his chest. His concern for the people could easily be used as a vulnerability and his own thoughts on how to correct the issue could be seen as treasonous by some within Clover Kingdom. It was better for him to leave vocalizing such beliefs to people like Griswold who were strong enough to be able to back his words without being a liability. Frankie would be content to simply work from behind the scenes for now, hidden by the large shadow cast by the more famous man.
Still, there were occasions where Frankie could do some good for the region without it being obvious that he was motivated by feelings for the people. Today he was in Sosshi doing some good work under such false pretenses. The local lord had put out a call for Magic Knights to come and assist in handing out food for the more needy within the town and for all that participated they would be compensated with Yul and no doubt the possibility of a gold star to be put on their record. Whether the excuse was riches or professional advancement Frankie could use either to hide the fact that he just generally wanted to help. The subterfuge was likely completely unnecessary, Frankie was practically an unknown outside those who had met him so there was very little chance that anyone was keeping tabs. However, he was still motivated to cover his bases just in case. If he ever did become famous he wanted no discrepancies from the behavior he exhibited now with anything he might do in the future. His ideas might require a lifetime to fulfill and any misstep could spell disaster.
For now though he had his cover story and he made his way through the streets of Sosshi to a series of stalls that had been set up in advance of the food drive. Behind each stall were crates, likely filled with food. Some of the stalls already had Magic Knights standing at attention, ready to begin their service. Not far from the stalls a line had already begun to form, a Magic Knight on duty likely in charge of sending people forward in an orderly fashion once everything went underway. Some of the stalls already had food on them, each stall seeming to have something different to be handed out. One stall had bread, another cheese, another had vegetables, each seemingly designed to provide not only a sizeable portion, but food that might last some time so that if whoever took it home with them could make it last a while. Standing behind all the stalls, guarded by a pair of Magic Knights, was the Lord in question. He observed everything, likely making sure it was all being done to his exact specifications. Frankie was honestly shocked by it. Could this be one of the few nobles he might, gasp, respect?!
The mad mage made his way over the lord who was starting to look a little impatient. Some quick calculation and it was clear that Frankie might have been the last Magic Knight he was expecting for the job today. "You're late!" The lord immediately admonished. "Technically I am exactly on time per the mission request. If the desire was for me to be early I recommend the parameters be changed. I would arrive accordingly." Frankie answered back without even blinking. He was always punctual and always followed whatever was the letter of the mission he had been given. Clearly not perturbed the lord simply let out a sigh. "Fine, fine. I suppose that is true. The job is simple enough any way. Report to stall number three. Everything has been measured exactly to ensure everyone gets the same portion. Simply hand one portion over to each family or person as they proceed through the line and reach your stall. No one gets any extra portions, though there might be a time for that after we have given out as much as possible equally to those on line. Is that understood?" Frankie nodded his head in agreement, it was a simple enough concept and shouldn't be too hard. With a wave the local lord dismissed the Green Mantis and the Magic Knight made his way over to the third stall.
Once there he started opening up the crates and unloading some of the contents on to the stall so that it would be ready to hand out. Going through the crate he quickly surmised that his job would be to hand out dried meats. It was certainly a generous offering. Not only would it help complete a balanced meal, but because they were already dried they would last for a good amount of time if they were put into storage. Whatever was used in the process though had left them quiet pungent and that was probably the reason on why this stall had not been picked before it had been assigned to Frankie. Thankfully, he smelt far worse things in his labs so the odor barely phased him. Seconds after prepping his stall the waiting horde was released and the line quickly moved through the stalls, each handing out their goods. Frankie was no different and time flew by as he rushed to hand out his product. A few people tried to beg or ask for more, but they were politely declined and moved along. Each were assured that there might be more giveaways throughout the holiday and they could return for those. He was kept so busy that before he knew it every single crate was emptied out, the stock completely gone. Thankfully, it seemed the waiting masses had also depleted so there were none left that would leave hungry. Everyone had gotten their fair share and a small portion was even squirreled away for the Magic Knights to eat as a thank you meal for their efforts. Whatever annoyance the Lord might have had with Frankie for being late was gone by the end of the work day and he profusely thanked Stein before dismissing him. Frankie still had a bit of a chip on his shoulder on the entire system of nobility, but he supposed he could add this lord to a small list of exceptions he kept. He had expected to see someone forced to duty, but instead found someone who actually used his power for good. It was a good lesson in the folly of drawing a hypothesis without evidence.
