Everything has been peaceful in Nairn snow has come, and everyone is enjoying their time preparing for the Yule Festivities. Though some of the kids who wander into the nearby forest have come back to town scared, and sometimes even a little bruised up. Upon inspection when some of the adults have gone to see what lies beyond they have come back injured as well. According to all accounts it appears some of the nearby deer have been mutated by large amounts of mana, and become quite aggressive. It is up to you to fend them off, and prevent the townsfolk from being harassed further.

After fending off the Reindeer it appears as that was only the beginning, as some more ferocious creatures have appeared, three days after defeating the Reindeer large chunks of snow, and ice have begun to fly into the city from seemingly nowhere. The Mages from the Church have erected a protective barrier to keep the town safe for the most part from the flying debris, but have made an urgent request of you to go, and stop whoever or whatever is trying to harm the town, and it’s citizens.

The Town, and the Church are both on edge trying to figure out what is going on, and causing such a strange occurrence near their home. They have even begun to actively enlist the help of the Azure Deer who share the city with them to figure this out. However during a meeting with everyone present including yourselves a rumbling can be felt almost like an earthquake. When everyone goes outside what sees them shakes you all to the core. A Candycane man, the scent of peppermint fills the air, but despite it’s sweet appearance, and scent it starts to try, and destroy the town. Standing well above a two story house it is up to you to stop it while the knights, and church evacuate the city.

The town suffered no major losses, since the Candycane Man was defeated, property damage can be fixed over time, but no lives were lost. As everyone is resting, and recuperating all the fire in the town gets sapped. The warmth immediately leaves the entire city, and it feels incredibly cold as if all the heat your body has is being drained for some reason. Going to investigate you see a man in the center of the town standing still with townspeople frozen near him. This man stands still like an ice sculpture before turning his gaze to you. Eyes that are crimson like blood stare back at you. Reaching out with his hand you feel the warmth drain from your blood.

[break]Combat Style: Mr. Frost looks to be made of ice which would make you think that he is vulnerable to fire, but that is not the case. He absorbs heat to make himself feel alive again. Fire, Ember, Lava, Boil, and Solar magic heal him rather than hurt him. Sound based magic on the other hand is incredibly effective against him, and deals double damage if you overcome his durability by 10 or more points.
Mr. Frost is incredibly fast, seemingly able to disappear for brief moments only to reappear near you to hack at you with his incredibly sharp claws. If you try to stay at a range you risk the wrath of his Icicle Spears (Which have the stats of a Senior Spell for Range, and Speed.) If you get within 20 meters of him his Absolute Zero aura will begin to drain the heat from your body making you take Intermediate damage while healing him for that much. Compared to all the other enemies you have faced up until now, something seems off.
Now you know the truth all of the strange happenings have been caused by someone who has not been seen in a few years. A madman who once called a frigid cave his home, but was presumed to be dead after several groups of Magic Knights invaded his home, to purify his evil spirit. However, due to the machinations of Mr. Frost all of the death he caused in Nairn has forced the malignant Krampus to be revived. Bruised, and battered, you must now make your final stand to save Yule from the clutches of the deranged Krampus. Still in the center of Nairn where you defeated Mr. Frost how will you handle this foe without losing more lives?

[break]Combat Style: Krampus is angry that he was defeated before so easily, and his anger has manifested in him being stronger, and more wanton to destruction than before. A blizzard constantly surrounds Krampus within an area of 20 meters. It acts as both a shield, and deterrent, fending off attacks while slicing those who enter it for Senior Ranked damage. If you do not completely destroy the Blizzard Shield it will simply regenerate back to full health (It has Grand Health).
Within his blizzard Krampus will hurt Snowballs at his enemies, flinging them at an incredibly fast pace (For the purpose of range, and speed the snowballs are Senior ranked). Those who are hit by these take Senior damage, and suffer a -2 m/s speed debuff. As the snow melts, and then freezes into ice around their bodies slowing them down. This debuff lasts until they are cleansed by a healer, or if they take an attack from a Mage with heat based magic (The rank of the attack doesn’t matter.)
Krampus prefers to fight not up close, and personal with his enemies preferring to stay within his shield, and just batter them with his Snowballs. How will you defeat this foe?
Having just visited the great tree that had been erected in the honor of gnome, the earth spirit and handing the tiny golden bauble that was a dwarven statue to the deacon, days like these had proven there to be plenty of things to do in the common realm as well. As he had already spoken to the deacon prior to joining the festivity regarding the tree to see if there were any people who really needed help getting through the winter, Griswold had paid a local butcher a visit. Since he had fallen on hard times and could not pay to keep his hearth going, the black knight had gone out of his way to find a dead tree that no longer needed the branches. Providing the man and his family with plenty of lumber to make it through the winter if they rationed it all properly, the two had parted ways with the promise of him getting a juicy piece of meat come summer.
Not wanting to be the kind of guy who would deny someone to pay him back, nor to be the guy that demanded payment for his acts of compassion, he figured this was the perfect middle ground. The guy was a butcher after all, so once the season picked back up, there was no doubt in his mind that this was the kind of deal the Griswold of the future would thank the Griswold of the past for. However, shortly after taking care of these things and planning his return to the forsaken region and checking in on the tree of Sylph with a gift from the elves, a rather interesting story reached his ear. Knowing well enough that people were usually full of shit when it came to encountering wildlife, Griswold did always try to keep his composure and at the very least seem interested. Because if he were to believe every story, he’d spend most of his time chasing bears as tall as hills and wolves as fast as lightning.
This time however, people spoke of aggressive Reindeer, which was quite frankly not one he had heard of before. Usually, people who had been scared away from somewhere would make it sound as if they had been chased down by a griffin or a wyvern. Claiming it was some rabid deer really did not strike most people as a serious and credible threat, because the animals were landlocked herbivores that many people in the forsaken region hunted, prepared and ate during the winter months. So to hear that someone had been attacked by reindeer gave it credence, at least in Griswold’s opinion, which was why he had decided to hear the guy out fully and promise that he would look into it personally. Learning that the “attack” had happened not too far from Nairn, he did not exactly hurry himself towards the next location, taking a quiet stroll throughout the town.
Even though he was no church-goer, not a believer in most things, held no love for most of the people that were financing the place and thought it weird men walked around in dresses, there was absolutely something to be said about the church itself. It was a marvel of architecture, so even as he passed through the streets where he had seen his first real human on human murder some years ago, it was hard to take his eyes off of the place. It was funny when he thought about it, how a place like this was the one where he had to fight for his life against another human for the first time in his life, right after that same person had just committed a brutal and bloody murder on these very same streets. Passing by the building she had burned down in the process, nothing was to be seen of it now, save for an empty lot that would undoubtedly be sold off and built on somewhere in spring.
Walking towards the outskirts of town with a steady stride, it would not be long before he made his way out of the civilized world and exchanged it for what would normally be a lot of green fields and hills. Except this time, those fields and hills were all covered in a thick layer of snow.

Magnus found himself in once again on his merry travels, often during this time of year he made a habit of visiting some of the people he had formally met on his travels before, often giving them gifts and trying to help them through any challenges they may have faced over the year, he found it was his way of giving back, and oftentimes around this time in the cold of winter many needed help. Occasionally, Magnus would stop to paint landscapes of the surrounding areas he passed by, which in turn he either now found himself feeding to Fantelo for sustenance, or selling to nobles get a bit of extra yul in his pocket. After all, giving out presents wasn't cheap, and if he could sell to the rich to give more to the poor then in the end it was worth it to him.
From his worldly travels, he knew better than many the horrors and hardships throughout the world, and though he wasn't raised subjected to them, his time as an adult and with his own child when he was kicked out of his family had opened his eyes to the world around him, no longer clouded by the gold spoons that cluttered his perception. It was because of this that Magnus had even taken to wearing a special outfit this time of year. Dressed in red and white from head too, a warm jacket and thick red pants were something that caused the jolly old man to stand out. Though some thought it was rather whimsical, he simply preferred to adorn it as a sign for the holidays and his yule cheer.
Making his way via carriage through the common region, Magnus had stopped a local inn in Nairn for a bite to eat and some hot chocolate when he heard through the word of mouth some troubles people were having with local wildlife in the area, turning his attention the wooden board with missions pinned to them in the inn he found that one rather recent one matched up with what people were talking about. Mutated reindeer didn't sound too far off from something possible, after all the mana of the world had a strange effect on animals at times, and because of the mana in taking there were prone to going wild.
However, Magnus knew that at times like that it was best to simply relocate the animals as trying to harm them via brute force only turn bought more danger onto those around it. Animals mutated by mana were still animals in the end, and nature and instinct dictated that it would defend itself from other creatures they thought would do them harm. Not wanting the reindeer to be harmed, as it was no one fault from what he knew of that they were mutated he decided to take on the mission, hoping to spread some good karma out into the world. He gathered what information he could from those within the inn, had a nice cup of cocoa, left some extra yul to the wait staff, and then made his way out.
Upon taking his carriage as far as he could into the forest before getting out, Magnus would step out in his all-red suit, Fantelo nuzzled tightly within one of the suit's large inner chest pockets. Magnus's large frame bumbled through the snow and twigs, and for a moment as he gazed at the beauty of the forest around him, he found himself wanting to stop and draw it. Alas, he decided that he would trudge onward hoping to find the reindeer before those who would do them harm would.
He left large tracks within the snow, but he made sure to move as slowly as he could as he got closer to a thicket of trees, he didn't know how far the trees would outstretch or even what the terrain was like, but what he did know was that if he were to allow others to get to those creatures first, they could possibly end up doing more harm than good and that wasn't something he was willing to let happen. He knew better than most the evils of man, and as someone who held a higher appointed position than most, he felt it was only right that he actually used it for good.
Thankfully his strange transformed body since he had eaten that treat sometime ago seemed to make his more body more sturdy and kept him warm, however, he still knew not what it was. It even allowed him to feel the natural mana that flowed through the world, although his talent in sensory was little to none, the mana from the world tingled on his skin, and he found he could pull it in with ease when needed, and that his body instinctively did it when he was low on it, and even grew in size. The whole thing was strange to him, and the only people who could do such a thing he knew were dwarves, but last he checked he was no dwarf unless he had been changed via the treat, however, he knew not how long this would last. The natural mana in the area felt, different to him than in most areas of nature. He took it as a sign of him being closer to the direction of the creatures, and thus he had begun keeping an eye out for Reindeer tracks.

Summary: Magnus is traveling around the Clover Kingdom in a Santa Suit giving gifts to those he's met before, when he discovers the issue with the reindeer, not wanting to leave it up to someone that could potentially do the creatures harm, he takes the task upon himself and heads toward the woods, looking for tracks, while leaving some large ones himself. His paint spirit is tucked within his coat.
Rank & Element: Junior | Paint Class & Type: Imbued | Magic Trinket Magic Specializations: Golem Creation Appearance & Lore: Click For Image A Magical Ornate Paint Brush Set that comes with five 4-inch Paint Brushes in total all with different widths and styled bristles. The paintbrushes are ornate in design, with swirls of small patterns and silver in color. They have purple bristles that fade into white at their tips. Nothing is too special about these paintbrushes on their own except they are sturdy and have no need for a palette as they are capable of producing any color of paint on their own with a small infusion of mana. These paintbrushes were a gift to Magnus from his mother when he was younger and as such he cherishes them dearly but also uses them for his magic. However, as they are a magical set, they all share the same durability, thus if his weapon was to break even if it was just one paint brush due to an attack capable of destroying a junior rank weapon all of them would break. Outside of the fact that they can release paint, these weapons are nothing more than blunt objects. As such they cannot be used to stab or pierce without the usage of a spell or its ability. He uses shades of white, gray, pinks, greens, and yellows to create the shape of a humanoid body, specifically a woman with long hair. The paint flows to life, taking greater depth and shape from the image, revealing a portrait of a young woman with dark gray to green hair, pink mystical eyes, a gray dress, and glowing pink and yellow flowers blossoming from her. The golem has a sheen to its skin like wet paint. The golem is a Scout type and as such is built for speed, flight, and sensory.
A masterfully crafted two-inch long white gold pin in the shape of a paintbrush in the middle of the handle lays a very rare unique sapphire blue moonstone.
At the origins of house Aurelius being recognised as nobles a set of eight unique pins were made, each pin was designed with a specific artistic or scholarly pursuit in mind and each having a differing type or rare gem or variant of a semi-precious gem inlayed on it somewhere. One was then given to each elder of the house.
The way they decided who would wear which pin was dependant on the pursuit that aligned with each pin. This meant the elder who found beauty in the craft of calligraphy would be given the pin which had the scroll and quill whereas the elder who found beauty in gardening would wear the pin-shaped like a rose in full bloom.
As an elder retired they would pass the pin to their successor. Who would then take on the responsibilities of every elder that wore the pin before them. It is believed that every elder on their final day of wearing the pin puts a slither of their mana into it so they might be able to guide those that come after them. Some elders have said they have felt the presence of their ancestors from the pin especially during times of great turmoil or stress.
They've said as they become more attuned with their craft and the understanding of their duties the pin has given them a strength they didn't know they otherwise possessed. It is because of this these pins are seen as more than just a status symbol but something to be proud of and protected so that the future of the family can continue in its pursuit to serve those that would require their services.

Before long, Griswold made his way out of town and onto what were once rolling fields of green and a perfect place for his horse to go about grazing while he himself was going about doing his business, whatever it may be. Now, it was just a long stretched out patch of white, cold to the touch and not the kind of thing Nuck enjoyed, what with it being the diva that it was. Continuing to press on through what was barely three centimeters of snow, he could see the forest of pines not too far from his current position, their tips also covered in white. While it was a pretty sight, there was something about snow that just never truly sat right with him, likely for what it represented. With autumn being the time of year where everything slowly withered and died, winter was a state that came after dying; meaning it was a representation of death.
The white frost that covered everything in a layer of cold, putting animals into an extended period of sleep or simply freezing them to death, just like any humans who were caught in the wake of an avalanche or simply hadn’t been in possession of the means to keep themselves warm. Having already helped at least one family that was in need of it to stay away from a cold forever slumber, he could only imagine how many others might not be spared from it this year. But since he couldn’t be everywhere at the same time and did not know the location of every single home and hut in the country, Griswold did his best to block out the fact that it was not all his responsibility. But even as he thought about how it wasn’t, it was still incredibly difficult to realize that there would be people whom he could not reach that were likely going to die because of it.
So as he approached the small forest, he noticed several reindeer just standing around, doing what they often did. Sniffing at the air as they more than likely managed to smell his approach due to the wind coming from behind him, they did not point their attention at him yet. When he noticed a small hare running from the forest and out into the open, Griswold saw something he had never seen before. Something that was so out of the ordinary yet still outlandish to the point where it surprised him even more than most of the dungeons he had ventured into. For when the hare began running, the reindeer gave chase, running after it and gaining on it before trampling it into the snow. Crippling it to the point where it would no longer run, one of the deer pulled up their upper lip, revealing several sharp fangs as it bit into the hare’s upper neck. Releasing a high-pitched death-shriek as the reindeer tore out it’s neck, the other reindeer joined in on the feast.
“Oh my.”
With that being the only things he could express under his breath at the sight of such brutality, he now understood why one of the civilians had made a run for it at the sight of these overly hostile and apparently bloodthirsty, carnivorous reindeer. Wondering what might have been the cause for such a mutation, the fact that these animals showed pack-like behavior when it came to hunting down and killing the hare they were rapidly stripping of all flesh while leaving only bone and fur, they reminded him of wolves to some extent. But seeing as how that was impossible, it was likely something that could be explained to some degree, though he had no idea where to begin yet. Realizing now that these creatures were a threat that could not remain where they were due to them having the potential to truly injure or even kill other individuals due to their proximity to the town and the main road, he’d need to either chase them away or put them down.

Magnus wandered the snow still, occasionally he found himself coming to a halt for a small reprieve in order to catch his breath. Though he was no ice or fire mage, Magnus's large stature and body heat lint itself to be something of furnace in the cold snow, in fact, his large stature and bulk of muscle lent itself to being a heater all on its own. One often confused him from being a mountain giant, though he knew not if those truly existed he had learned once before that those who were born in high altitudes and climates often had bigger builds and more muscle and body fat in order to stave off the cold. It also helped that in the winter he would let his body hair grow out in order to hold some form of additional worth, and though some might deem that all those factors still weren't enough the breathing and meditation techniques Magnus had learned over the years had lent itself to helping him maintain a steady warm temperature. His scent of maple syrup and peppermint wafted off him, after all, he did like to put such concoctions in his daily bathes alongside a bit of cologne here and there, and luckily when all else failed, if they ever did he at the very least had his red fur-lined and custom made stuffed yule suit and boots to keep him comfortable. Not to mention his bodily transformation into being what he thought was a dwarf, although he knew not how long such a transformation would last. Alongside Fantelo who was curled up purring softly in his deep slumber inside Magnus's left inner pocket breast.
As he walked through the woods, Magnus would occasionally stop to observe trackers within the snow, however, the deeper in the woods he found he went the easier it was to find tracks as the branches from the trees above lent themselves to blocking most of the snowfall in thick clearings, and though occasionally he would see a hoof print or two they would lead out into the open clearings where the fresh snowfall would have once again covered their tracks. After all, of what felt like an hour of going in circles, Magnus came to rethink his plan, he figured now more than ever was time to potentially use the hidden secret that rest within his magical paintbrush wand. Magnus held no sensory magic or spells of his own, but the same couldn't be said for his tool of the trade. However, as he was about to expand his mana to further his goals, a high-pitched shriek rang throughout the forest clearing. The sound was eerie and made Magnus's hair raise, it was the first time in a long time he had ever heard such a thing, it reminded him of when he would hunt rabbits for substance when on the road when he was younger. Although nothing as eerie and extensive as this, it sounded to him like a creature was almost being tortured, and the thought of such made his stomach turn in knots. He had never been one for torture, at least when it came to animals, no he was always in a more humane way of doing things, quick and as painless as possible if he could help it.
Before Magnus knew it he found his feet moving in the direction of the noise, but from his understanding reindeer were herbivores, not omnivores, they only ate vegetation, not meat, but he felt the scream warranted checking out nonetheless, even so just to be safe, he made sure to grab his paintbrush wand from his grimoires small pocket holster. He didn't anticipate attacking anything but this was a forest, and mana beasts were always a consistent threat in such large forest, not to mention depending on how the reindeer had mutated they could pose him some form of bodily harm, a thought of which he'd rather let lay buried. Although as Magnus made his way out of the forest clearing in the direction of the noise the threat of such became all the more imposing. As he glanced about Magnus saw three things that caught his attention, the sight or rather the animal the shriek had come from, or rather what was left of it, reindeer with sharp fangs tearing into it, the sight of which almost bought bile to the top of his throat before being forced back down before it had the audacity to touch his tongue, and a man of whom he recognized and held great respect for; the magic knight, Griswold.
With such newfound discoveries, Magnus would opt to move as silently as possible, around the outer edges of the clearing as not to bring attention to himself, after all, he didn't want to run the risk of startling the mutated reindeer, or becoming a target, nor did he would attack them, especially knowing Griswold's stance on creatures. Instead, as he moved lumbering about as silently as possible with his large stature, he gave a soft nod and wave in the direction of Griswold, occasionally pushing the red hat atop of his head white puffball from out of his eyesight. Yet his wand remained at the ready but his face held a rosy-cheeked smile of glee and ease. "What great fortune to have stumbled upon such a notable being in such a hectic time." Magnus thought, if not for once again it seemed fate was destined to have him and Griswold once again cross paths.

In situations such as these, it was always quite difficult to figure out how to move forward, especially since he really did not want to kill any animals if he could help it. What made that so difficult right now was the fact that these were not your average reindeer, and having these carnivorous versions of the species running amok in the wilds essentially introduced a new kind of hunter to the food chain. All things considered, this could really turn things upside down for the natural world, for if these reindeer ate the hares and rabbits, that meant there would be less food for the wolves and bobcats. And if they did not have food, they’d either run into violent confrontations with one another or venture into the nearby towns and communities to go looking for food, which would in turn cause a lot of problems with the locals and could result in people and animals alike being wounded or killed.
All in all, it made for a very dangerous situation that made outright killing them the easiest solution, as all that would do was kill a bunch of reindeer and leave the chain intact.
Still, given the fact he had wrangled wolves before when out in the common region and managed to get those out of the area, he imagined that he might be able to do the same here. Because as aggressive and ravenous as they were, at the end of the day, they were still reindeer just the same. Observing the animals as they finished feeding, they rose their snouts to the sky, clearly picking something up. Following their example, he too smelled something, a cologne of some kind, turning his head to see a large man dressed in red and white, the perfect camouflage outfit for staying unnoticed in fields of snow. Gesturing at him to stay down, he figured it was more than likely already too late for that as the animals had likely seen him the moment he got out of bed in the morning. Responding to the large man by grouping up, it was now clear to see that there were four of them in total.
And that was a good thing, because having an accurate count on their numbers meant they’d be able to figure out a way to deal with them. The fact that they were basically reindeer with some serious teeth and an appetite meant that as long as he could evade the antlers and the teeth, or simply avoid the head entirely, he might be able to incapacitate them with a few powerful blows from his fist. And with the forests nearby, there was a chance that he might be able to capture them and release them as deep in the forest as possible. While that would not keep the food chain from potentially getting upset, he imagined that they would either get to thrive there without being around people to hurt, or would get taken care of by the woodland predators themselves. All in all, it meant that the problem would more or less end up taking care of itself without staining his hands with even more technically innocent blood.
Sending a sharp whistle through the air into the direction of the village, he hoped Nuck was in the mood to actually respond to it and make its way over to Griswold. If he did, he’d have access to all of his stored weaponry, as well as several coils of rope and his evening dinner which he still needed to cook over an open fire. Still, he imagined that in its normal state, a slab of meat like that might be of interest to the mutants. But until it got here, they’d need to take care of all of the animals without actually killing them or getting injured.

Magnus watched the animals eating with glee that is until they rose their snouts in the sky, Magnus could only guess that the behavior meant that they were sniffing something. His eyes trailed to Griswold, gesturing to him to stay low, so in response, Magnus did just that, however, he'd reach into the folds of his grimoire grabbing his magical paintbrush set out in case he'd have to defend himself. Although he wasn't in the business of wanting to hurt these creatures, he wouldn't let them harm him, and it was at this moment for such pacifism that he was happy that one of his magical talents lay within the realm of defensive magic. Magnus's eyes brushed over the creatures only to see that there were 4 of them, he was grateful that the number wasn't larger, but he was also worried, he had heard these reindeer had been mutated and had become hostile, he didn't know if his magic would be strong enough to hold out.
Magnus was at a witts end, he had at that moment realized that he had gotten a little too big for his britches. He went out into the wild to help these animals but in turn, had no way of truly doing that. Outside of careless observation, and the notion that they were in danger he didn't truly know how to help or what was wrong, just that he wanted to help and potentially get to the bottom of things, however, possibly due to his newfound confidence in joining the Blue Rose, he had found he had gotten into a situation possibly a bit too big for his britches. In doing so, he mentally chastised himself. He knew at this point that he should've known better, that he should've done better. He could only guess that the reindeer, being animals with sensitive noses were possibly smelling him. His smell was often that of cologne scented, and thanks to his daily baths his natural scent held a mixture of a variety of herbs and honey, as such he had nearly forgotten about his perfumed scent, it was no wonder the reindeer were taking note of him, especially with him increasing in distance toward them.
He slowly began to come to a halt, letting the snow overtake his body even more as he knew the only way to truly get rid of his scent was to let it wash off as best as possible. Magnus's hand slowly began to pour mana into the tip of his paintbrushes as he readied himself for a potential charge.

Watching Magnus dig in and seemingly use the snow as bars of soap, Griswold had an idea as to why he might have gone about doing this. While he doubted it’d actually pay off in any way or shape when matched against the powerful sense of smell belonging to animals, especially those that had turned predatory and used their smell to locate prey, washing himself down would only do so much for him. Believing this was likely going to be a learning experience for the man, a “101” on how to deal with approaching wildlife without giving yourself away the moment you walk out the front door, it wouldn’t take much longer before the first of the deer began moving towards the man. Followed by the other three following the example of the first, which was likely the chosen alpha, Griswold did not want to wait around any longer than he had to.
Knowing that Nuck was more than likely already on his way along with Griswold’s belongings that were sitting in his saddlebags, which included the rope he needed, he made his way out of his observational perch. Finding himself to move at a faster pace than the mutants, once he began moving, the creatures noticed him straight away. Due to the fact that his scent was almost constantly one that one might find out in the wilds, which given his chosen lifestyle wasn’t all that odd, Griswold had managed to conceal himself for at least this long. So when he appeared, the first of the creatures was the second one in line, smashing it in the snout with a punch that held very little back. Aiming to strike the beast out at once, it seemed to be at least that effective as it stumbled on its legs for a bit before collapsing on the cold snowy ground.
Taking just about all of the forward momentum out of him the moment his punch landed, becoming a stationary target was good for the morale of the hungry beasts. With the one in the front continuing to run straight towards Magnus, the other two that had seen the deer right in front of them punched down to the ground had chosen to make Griswold their target. With morale high, they came at him in succession, which was all the more perfect for him. If they believed they stood a chance, they wouldn’t run away, saving him the time of having to track them all down. Spinning on his heel as he jumped and kicked the first one in the side of the head, he barely managed to evade the surprisingly sharp fangs of the one coming up directly behind it. Trying to dash right past him and come back, he would not give the animal the chance.
For as its fangs missed him, Griswold locked his arms around the neck of the mutant, clamping down as he and the animal went for a tumble. Trying to snap at him in an attempt at reaching flesh, the black knight hugged the creature even tighter, beginning to really squeeze its throat shut as it emptied its lungs. Only tiring itself out more and more with its aggressive behavior, with every time it snapped at him, it expended energy and what valuable little oxygen it had left. After a little while of tensing up, eventually the eyes rolled back as the body went limp, at which point Griswold made sure to release his grip. As his goal had not been to kill any of these creatures, he looked in the direction of Magnus, who was going to have to be dealing with the last of these mutated reindeer by himself. Believing he could do that much just fine, he eyes the direction of the village, hoping to catch an eyeful of Nuck.

[attr="class","temppost"] Magnus found himself nearly waist-deep in snow, which to his surprise even in such an intense situation he found enjoyable. In fact, it brought back memories from his youth of when he and his father used to play in the snow, much like his father Magnus had always run hot, but unlike his father, Magnus wasn't a dwarf, or rather he was born human, but thanks to the special Halloween candy he had eaten he now got the chance to experience such. Magnus's body now was more sturdy than ever, in fact, he found that his body ran hotter, and was more durable, he felt envigorated nearly on a constant basis, and the natural mana from the world around him kissed his skin like supple lips as if constantly blessing him. He found the transformation extremely beneficial and as such even though he could slowly but surely feel the effects of the candy now waining at times, he knew it was a feeling that he would long for until it was back, permanently. It was for this reason that Magnus had sought out all manners of merchants in his past time looking for anyone or anything that could possibly bring back this phenomenon. After all, if one could do it temporarily with a simple candy that had to be a more permanent means.
Even as he slowly wiped his body with snow, he felt a little cold as if his body had been reborn in mountains and he marveled at such a thought, but the reality of the situation soon came flooding home, he knew his scent was too strong, the reindeer had clearly taken an interest in him and the fact of the matter was that he came into such a situation ill-prepared and negligible of any true knowledge on how to handle such creatures outside of the small teachings and lessons he had about creature care and mana beast. Considering Griswold was here meant that he, in fact, would possibly be fine, and he trusted in the man's expertise when it came to creatures of the manner of size, ability shape, and form especially knowing some of the things he had once dealt with from their interactions. However, he also knew that putting himself in such a precarious position also directly caused more work and trouble for Griswold, and knowing the man's respect of nature he felt remiss about having to burden him with the task of intervening him.
As Magnus thought about his lack of expertise and blunder the reindeer had now fully turned their attention on him with their alpha leading the herd. Thankfully for Magnus, there were only 4, and even better, Magnus watched as Griswold sprung into action, the sight of such brought back to reality just how fast the man could move, and that was damned fast, even just as quick as Magnus's current strongest spell, however, as he watched he saw that Griswold had already taken care of one of the reindeer with a well-placed punch to the snout. Magnus wasn't the strongest, nor was his sensory of mana anything but the extent of what touched his skin, but he had seen enough punches thrown to know that with a little magical assistance he too could match the same level of strength that Griswold exerted if not stronger. Although it wasn't his favorite spell especially as messy as he deemed it, nor was it utilized it was something that at the very least increased his strength by 4 times over. quickly reaching into the small pocket of his grimoire that held his magical paintbrush wands, he gripped one of them by the handle, putting it directly between his thumb in the index finger, he focused mana to the tip of the brush and released waves of white, gray, and silver than blended in with the snow, only for hues of purple and blue to also take hold, more importantly as he waved the paintbrush back and forth in long vivid strokes the paint landed on him, forming itself around him and infusing the mana from the paint itself into his skin, bones and, muscles. Finally, with a dramatic thrust of his right arm in which rested the paintbrush, he'd draw a quick silvery-blue triangle, from its paint would fill the middle of the triangle before crashing down on him as if someone had dumped a paint bucket of silvery blue paint directly on top of him. "Embodiment: Exuberant Spill," he muttered out the name of his spell as it further took hold of him, bringing his strength up to its maximum capability without bursting.
Paintings weren't always pretty, and though Magnus glistened now like a Christmas tree ornament he found himself now coming nearly face to snout with the reindeer as it aimed to tackle him and overtake him. Magnus instead would position his firm hold on the lands with his long legs by spreading them outward, bringing his left hand up to his waist, balling it into a fist, and his right arm and hand emulating the same movement. With a deep breath, he extended his right fist and arm outward with all the force he could muster into one punch aimed right for the snout of the creature. With a thud, they'd come to a clash, and as the snout would press against his fist, Magnus made sure to pull back his fist, as to reduce force to keep him from damaging the creature's skull. In fact, all he aimed to do was rattle the brain of the creature enough for it to become dizzy and lose consciousness, and he managed to do just that. The beast's eyes would roll into the back of its skull, his left came up not to further damage but to secure the beast and slow its momentum as its body came barreling into him. With a quick movement to follow up on his punch, he'd wrap his arms around the creature's neck, slowly lowering it into the ground with a firm grip endowed with enough strength to hold the creature up without choking it. He'd gently lay it on the ground and mutter the words "Truly, dear beast... I do hope you can forgive me." Magnus's tone was soft as he spoke and thought he held no remorse in defending himself, the last thing he wanted to do was do any harm to these creatures, alas because of his blunder it was inevitable and he was willing to take the blame and accountability for his actions. Magnus did, however, make sure not to kill the creature or seriously injure it, instead, he simply knocked it out, and now it was a matter of transporting these creatures to a safer area, as from what he could see Griswold had taken care of the rest of the reindeer.

It is because of this these pins are seen as more than just a status symbol but something to be proud of and protected so that the future of the family can continue in its pursuit to serve those that would require their services.

Once the fighting was over and four reindeer were laid out across the cold snowy landscape, Griswold felt content in the belief that they were safe for now. Finding the spell Magnus had used to be rather interesting as he rarely got to see paint magic utilized in whatever form, he hadn’t actually imagined that it would actually come in the form of paint. He had assumed it would come in the form of paintings or strange constructs, which made this a rather interesting sight to behold. Another very welcome sight to behold was the black stallion that had been making a quiet approach from the village, not seeming to be in much of a hurry whatsoever. Still, the fact that it had heard him and decided to leave his oats behind for the time being was commendable. While he waited for it to arrive, he turned his attention over to Magnus to state the obvious.
“You handled yourself quite well, didn’t take you for a physical combatant, given your affinity for paint and the fancier things in life. Usually, people that fit that profile are more confident from a distance.”
Believing the man would most likely not take it as an attack as he was just stating what he was seeing, and would take it for the compliment that it was, he started to ponder on what all of this truly meant. Because truth be told, he had never seen reindeer such as these, and usually when creatures were changed by being within a magic region for a long time, that did not turn herbivores into carnivores. It did things like allowing an old warg to breathe fire, or allow a stag to generate and release jolts of lightning from its antlers. While equally as outlandish, there was some modicum of sense to it, as it granted something powers. It did not change them internally to the point where a deer lost their molars and made way for predatory fangs and a digestive system devised for meat rather than vegetation.
“Regardless, we should tie these creatures up and figure out where to release them before they become a threat to the villagers.”
By the time Nuck finally arrived, Griswold reached into his saddlebags, taking out two long coils of rope, handing the second one to Magnus. Beginning to bind the snouts down first so they wouldn’t try snapping at them or biting through the rope, he made another bind around the neck before attaching it to the next. Binding them down in such a manner that if they started tugging or attempting to drag away, they’d just end up choking themselves, Griswold assumed that this would work well enough in trying to keep them in a docile mood. And with the meat he had in his saddlebags, which was actually for his own consumption, getting the creatures to follow them would likely not be all that difficult. After all, they were bold enough to attack people, so following them with the promise of food was likely not going to be all that out there.

[attr="class","temppost"] Magnus took a deep breath as everything came to an end, he turned his attention to Griswold of which who seemed to be looking out in the distance for something, and when Magnus's eye caught it he managed to muster a smile. The stallion reminded him almost as of Cloud, except his stallion was opposite in color, as Cloud was pure white with silver hair. The thought of the stallion reminded him that he, in fact, needed to spend a bit more time with the creature himself.
Magnus responded back in kind to Griswold's words, choosing to take them more of intrigue and praise than as an insult, as he was sure that the former was what intended. "Why thank you, Griswold. Ha, well don't let my old age fool you, these muscles aren't just for show you know. Besides they were my only means of defense back in the day until I could utilize my magic again, I guess you could say all the 'fancy' spells are just me making up for the lost time. Confidence is in one's self, and sometimes that includes in one's fist. " Magnus bellowed with a hearty laugh as he brought his large fist up covered in his mana-infused paint with a smile.
He gently took the rope from Griswold, and with a nod Magnus began to follow Griswold's lead, wrapping and tying the rope first around the snout of the creature, and then around the neck. He made sure to make the ropes tight enough that they couldn't escape but strong enough to bind the creatures, using meat as a way of leading the creatures. Magnus kept his spell in case he needed to use his increased strength to reign the creatures in. "There should be a farmland residence owned by my family nearby, I'm sure they can take good care of these creatures until they can find them a more appropriate area to roam in. They'll be given plenty of food and care to quell their behavior I'm sure."

Summary: Magnus follows Griswold's lead and states there should be an Aurelius-owned residence nearby capable of taking care of the creatures. He upkeeps his spell just in case he needs to use his strength to keep the beast in check.

Elemental Type: Paint Rank & Spell Type: Intermediate | Physical Reinforcment Range & Speed: 20 Meters | 20 m/s Mana Cost: 20 | 10 Stats Effected: +Intermediate Strength Applicable Perks: N/A Description: Magnus channels his mana into his paintbrush letting it gather together pigments of white, gray, and silver, as well as shades of purple, blue, and darker hues to give his painting depth. Magnus thrust his paintbrush into the air, waving it back and forth, as he lets paint drip and spill all over his body. He thrust his paintbrush outward, drawing as he does so, before swiping dramatically across it in the shape of a triangle. The paint pours outward and coats his body and in doing so fills him with the mana inside of it, further increasing his strength. When using this spell it looks almost as if someone had tossed a bucket of paint on him.
