Belle was just kicking a pebble down the under crowded street. She had her head partially buried into her scarf as she was wondering to herself what sort of drink she wanted tonight. Where she was going to go for a bit of sweet relief. There was a bar she had grown accustomed to frequenting, but well, she didn't want to go back there again. She wanted to see a new place, not like there were that many in Sosshi. Hell, maybe he was thinking the same thing and so was going to avoid that bar.
To be honest, she couldn't really tell, but the sun was starting to set, and there was one thing for sure, the small growl from her stomach wanted answering. So rather than think about her plans for later tonight, perhaps she should just start thinking about what she wanted for dinner. That would possibly be an even better place to start?
As she would keep just kicking her pebble, she thinks she would decide on it. Maybe just some pork would do?

It had been far too late at night for Romeo to still only be in Sosshi but at least he had a strong sense of where he was finally going. All he knew is that if he didn’t make it back home in time for dinner, his ass would literally be evaporated from existing from his mother. She was a kind woman but had a knack for zero tolerance of ignoring her rules that were simply set in stone. It’s not like he was trying to be rude, trying to get lost in the middle of the Clover region trying to find his way back home but sometimes that’s just how the cookie crumbled but Romeo had been a lot better than what he was before. A bumbling mess who needed help to find his center, finding a direction back home and that’s what this had all been.
So when Romeo landed in Sosshi, broomstick in hand and looking to buy something light to snack on before his journey back home, he never thought in a million years that he would spot Belle, the Azure Deer Knight from when he was a kid, kicking pebbles in the middle of this town but now that Romeo expanded where he traveled to, it’d make absolute sense to meet and see way more people than in his little rice paddy village.
” Belle, is that you? ” He asked, voice filled with wonder as he slowly approached her with a wave. Romeo was almost certain but he wouldn’t push too much or too far if she hadn’t recognized him or wanted to. ” It’s Romeo from Nase Village, right outside of the Royal City. You came years ago and helped us out with some rude bandits and kicked their ass. ” Despite his own feelings of isolation, he’d flash her a smile and try to radiate warmness, there had been something a bit off from the last time he saw her. Regardless, he was thrilled as he considered her someone he kind of looked up to and with everything going on, she could help settle him from his drastic waves of decision making.

It was actually a little odd, there hadn't been that many people flying overhead before, not all the way out in Sosshi, but surely there had been a few at least. And soy, when someone on a broom decided to land on her street, it was a little weird that they had picked herstreet. But besides that, she couldn't really dock them for anything. No, instead she was just kicking the pebble down the road with her spirit resting on her shoulder as it normally did, when he heard a mention of her name though. That's what caused her to spin around and look at who it was.
And well, it certainly seemed the voice recognized her if it called out to her by name, and yet, she had no recollection of who this person was. Rather, she didn't know if she had ever known who this person was. Up until he pointed out who he was, but more importantly where he was from.
The name, that didn't really ring a bell. The face didn't either. But.. that place. Yes Nase village, she could recall from her past memories having gone there. It was broken though, splintered and shattered. As Nifle (her spirit) would place a paw on her head and calm her down, she would take a breath. Her memories themselves were there, just painful to try reaching for. Like as if to get to them and recall them one had to put their hand into a bowl of broken glass to retrieve them. They were there, just painful to go for. Not all of them surely, but many.
"Nase... village. Yes. I did go there to deal with bandits." She would say, she remembered that much clearly. A mission from the Azure Deer, bandits, she remembered winning, some smiling faces. This boy's was one of them, wasn't it? "Yes. Yes." She would say, continuing to try reaching into the glass before stopping and looking more up at him, and into his face. "Yes I am Belle, though, I cannot say that I know you." She would say rather honestly to him. "Are you having issues with those bandits again?" She would ask, ready to fly there and deal with them a second time if she had to.

He might’ve been younger when Belle came to save Nase Village but for her to not remember him felt a little odd. Romeo had gone up to her and they chatted, truly feeling like a connection was made at the time but perhaps for Magic Knights that just had been what happened. The speed was too quick to remember every single beaming face that looked up to them during that window, to see a Magic Knight in action but it didn’t feel harsh or heavy against Romeo’s chest. The man could only hope that perhaps in time she might regain her memories and connect back the pieces of who he was.
Nevertheless, Romeo nodded as his eyes watched her connect her own set of pieces together. “ It’s fine. I’m sure Magic Knights meet quite a bit of people during their missions, huh. ” The light of youthful optimism seemed to shine a bit brighter for him today than before, the weight of adulthood and realizations still pulled him down but he wouldn’t let those feelings cripple who he was and what he wanted to do. “ No issues with the bandits, I actually, uh. Got a little lost trying to come back home. It’s a long story. ” Romeo quickly looked around, his own stomach began to pang with hunger after a whole day of no eating so far and needing a bit to eat. “ Not sure what you’re up to for the rest of the day but you hungry? I could use a bite to eat.” It’d give them some time to chat more, Romeo wanted to know why this girl felt so disconnected from reality.
“ I’m actually here cause I went over to see a Green Mantis, hoping she’d help me with this quest with tomatoes. I kinda barged in calling for her and she shot an arrow near me to slice the trees behind me. ” The man was feeling incredibly pent up and still needed to get it all out, even if it was to a stranger. “ And then I got lost, met this other dude and now I’m here trying to make my way back home. ” Romeo sighed, heavy and exhausted as his shoulder pulled down. “ I wanted to be a Magic Knight, now, I don’t know what I want to do. ” It truly was more of a monologue than a conversation back and forth but, Romeo was appreciative for the ear anyway. “ Sorry to bog you down with all this, it’s just, a lot for me to try and process. ”

Belle could tell that her brutal honesty over not remembering the kid had put a bit of a damper on him. If only for a moment, but it was a moment that was all it needed. And to be honest, maybe before she might have remembered him. An unfortunate meeting that it had to take place now, after an event that Belle didn't know nearly as much as she wish she did. She had sent out her contacts to find out more but.. it was slow to get information all the way back to Sosshi.
"Yeah, you can say that again. I've met a lot of people on my travels. Don't take it too personally. Just got a lot on my mind right now." She would say back to him, rather honestly. However, his radiance, which might have comforted her before, now almost had the opposite effect and was nearly blinding. But it was that same radiance that so many people around here had... it was trouble getting used to. But she was going to have to try, she wasn't in the forsaken region anymore. And she didn't know if or when she would be back. "Heh. Still getting a bit lost? You even gunna make it home before dark at this rate? Need help?" She would ask back, which probably sounded a lot meaner than she meant it to be. But as he would ask about being hungry, her own stomach would answer back before she did, with a resounding growl as she would say "Yes." Before quickly adding in "I got a good place to go to, have decent burgers. Not top of the line mind you, but better than what you'd find in the forsaken region that's for sure." She'd say with a smile towards him, flashing off a bit of her jewelry.
Though, as he would continue talking while she started showing the way, she would throw her arms behind her head and lead the way, more than ready to answer back once he was done explaining what he wanted to. "Naw, I used to be a knight so I know what you're getting at." She'd say as she'd point to the side, where a quaint little place was set up, some smoke billowing out the back where you could presume they were cooking outside. But she would wait until she walked in and got a table for them to sit at before continuing. "Funny you mention the Green Mantis's though, girl named Artemis just approached me too." She'd say as she'd order two beers, one for each of them, not asking for his say in the matter. "Though, also doesn't sound like she really meant to shoot that arrow at you." She'd say rather honestly back. Looking to see what his input was after adding in. "But why GM, you don't seem like the GM type, ya know?"
