In this world, Magic is Everything. All people, all races, are granted with the power to perform mystical and magical feats via grimories, mystical tomes granted to each and every child on their 15th birthday. Those blessed by the mana can have their names written down in legend.

For her first time being out and about in any sort of official capacity, since she had received her grimoire a couple of weeks back, Althaea had found herself to be in a rather interesting situation. You see, the Magic Knight Exams were supposed to be coming up rather soon and the young Aurelius had considered herself to be a prime candidate for such exams! While she hadn't really been versed in the ways of fighting all that much, there were other things that she had been capable of that would hopefully allow for her to be recognized in some sort of capacity. After all, for a young elf that had only recently received her grimoire, she had a stupendous amount of control over mana! This may have something to do with the fact that her element had been Pure Aura, or perhaps it even had something to do with her having received such a high ranking grimoire, but either way she had been sure that things would work out if she had put her mind to it.
The only real issue that Althaea could imagine at the moment, aside from her complete and utter lack of combat ability, was the fact that she hadn't really had any major life experience. Most of her time up to this point had been spent learning how to handle the affairs of an estate and the likes. What she had truly needed at this moment had been experiences that could benefit her in the long run. It is for that reason that Althaea had ended up heading on out to the common region to try and search for anyone that might have required any sort of assistance. Compared to the nobility, it was far more likely to find those seeking help among the commoners.
Throughout the course of her journey to try and locate anyone that might have needed any sort of assistance, Althaea had heard tale of a man in Kiten that had gone by the name of Vincent Wetherby, though he wishes to simply be called “Wetherby”. Apparently this man had been some sort of author and was working on a Bestiary of sorts. Rumor has it that for anyone that was willing to provide him with information on a particular subject, specified upon meeting him of course, that he was willing to provide them with not only a fitting sum of Yuul but with a spot right in his book. Honestly, Althaea hadn't really cared all that much about the Yuul aspect of things when it had come to this particular situation. No, she had cared only for the fact that she would be able to help someone! The Aurelius family had beat it into the heads of their youth that they must be useful in some manner when it had come to others and as such, this was her primary motivation. The additional wealth of knowledge that she could gain from having undertaken a task from this "Wetherby" was simply an added bonus.
Unsurprisingly, Althaea would have little to no trouble finding this man within the town of Kiten. From what he had told her, she was going to need to head on out to the Forsaken Realm for the task that he had envisioned for her. Once there, she was to observe the local bears in their natural habitat and take note of anything that had seemed to be of value to the bestiary. Although a little uncomfortable with the task at first, upon hearing that she, and any others that may have met up with her to accomplish the same task, had been prohibited from killing these precious animals for the sake of the bestiary, Althaea would eventually come around to the idea. Much like Wetherby, the young Aurelius lass had been quite the pacifist as well. If one were to ever need to seek for proof of such a thing, all that they would have to do is take a glance inside of her Grimoire. Even with how deadly her spells could have been, any magics that had even remotely seemed to harm someone had been prohibited within this location as well.
------
After several weeks of travel, Althaea would eventually find herself within the Forsaken Realm. This location had been subject to quite the horrid tales of persecution and war, which had made Althaea feel a tad uncomfortable with the whole thing at first, but now that she had actually been here it hadn't felt so bad. The only main concern that she was having at the moment was how she was going to go about locating a bear den. "This... isn't going to be the easiest thing in the world, huh? I sure hope that Daddy isn't too mad at me for coming all the way out here on my own." Taking a moment to slap her cheeks a few times, Althaea would push herself to calm down. By the time that she had stopped, her pale cheeks had been a light tinge of red. "Now isn't the time to think of things like that, Althaea. C'mon, you've got to get to work! This is only the start of the journey, after all."

Helping people was the reason that Rengoku had decided to travel around the lands, well that and finding a good fight. The large man had been traveling through the village of Kiten when he was approached by a short man by the name of Wetherby. It had been an interesting encounter, the man asking Rengoku to take on a simple mission to investigate some bears for a book that he was writing. Books weren't something that he had particular interest in, he didn't hate reading since his father had still made him study growing up but it definitely wasn't his most preferred way. It didn't take much convincing before the giant had taken the mission, though, deciding that it was best he went himself instead of risking this old man taking that chance if he couldn't find anyone. The man had lingered about for about a day or so, having helped an old lady take her cat out of a tree and playing the role of a giant for some kids.
When he had traveled out to the lands it had taken a few weeks but for the most part it had been a good time. He managed to find a thick enough canopy made from thick tree tops that could hold his weight, Rengoku having spent the night enjoying the stars as they danced above him. There hadn't been many hardships that he encountered during the way, most wild animals deciding to give the behemoth a wide birth once they actually eyed him up. Once he had arrived in the rough location of where the bears were supposed to be located, the redhead had decided to set up a camp. Staying in the area for a period of time was surely one way to get information in the meanwhile. So, with ease the camp would have been set up. A large tent had been pitched, large enough for the huge man to sleep in comfortably and keep his belongings inside. Not far from the tent was a firepit that was expertly put together, a cooking pot being set up overtop of it. To complete the look, he had taken a fallen tree and broke it in half, putting them on either side of the firepit to act as seating.
Four days had passed and in that time, he had still not found the bears. It hadn't been because he was bad at tracking, no he had spent a lot of his time taking care of animals and needing to help feed the village he grew up in. No, the issue had been that every time he encountered a bear it seemed to run away from him. It had been annoying and instead of focusing on the mission at hand, his attention had shifted to figuring out why the bears wouldn't interact with him. Absolutely had been no progress in that regard and that was where Rengoku had currently been with everything.
Assuming that Althaea had looked up at some point, there was a chance she would spot the smoke of a small fire. If she followed it, that would be where she'd encounter the man. She'd find him sitting one one of the logs in a clearing where his camp had been laid down. Rengoku Reinhart was a handsome man of twenty-eight, with crimson hair and a beard to match but more noticeable, he stood at a towering seven feet and two inches tall. It was hard to get a read on his full height while he was sitting but despite that, he could still look most people in their eyes from where he was regardless. The man only wore a pair of black pants that hung loose on his body, exposing the man's toned and chiseled upper form. One could note that he had a plethora of scars covering him, ranging from all degrees of damage. Hanging from his neck was a silver chain with a silver band that rested at the end. But there he sat, unaware and using a ladle that was comically small in his oversized hands to stir something inside the pot.

"Honestly, what am I supposed to be doing out here? Tracking down a cave or even a place in which bears would usually find themselves.. It this truly going to be that difficult of a task?" While one could hope that this little escapade of hers hadn't been the kind of task that was going to go on for extended periods of time, Althaea had attempted to shake these thoughts off. No matter how difficult things might have been at the moment, it wouldn't make sense for her to give up on her search this early. No, she was going to need to continue this trek of hers and hope that things would work out in her favor.
As Althaea would continue to meander about the open fields of the Forsaken Region, something that had been far off in the distance would eventually catch her attention. From what she could make out at this distance, it would seem as though there were some kind of.. smoke bellowing up in the distance? While the smoke hadn't indicated that the possible fire off in the distance had been a large one, Althaea had refused to stand idly by and allow for what could possibly grow into a forest fire to grow. That being the case, the young Aurelius would begin to dash off in the direction of the bellowing smoke.
After about twenty minutes or so, Althaea would reach the location that she had been attempting to come upon. Unlike some others, she hadn't exactly been the fastest person in the world. This was something that she had been hoping to change in the future but for the time being, there was nothing that she could really do about it. Regardless, upon finding herself at the source of the smoke that she had seen not all that long ago, Althaea would begin to survey the surroundings. The first thing that would grab her attention had been the hulking behemoth of a man that had been sitting atop of a wooden log. The crimson haired hopefully gentleman had towered over Althaea and he had been sitting down! His entire physique had been nearly impossible to ignore, unfortunately. More than anything else located at the camp site, he had been the most eye grabbing thing. If he had been this large while sitting than one could only imagine how ridiculous the size comparison between the two individuals had been if he were to stand up.
Shaking her head whilst fanning away at her cheeks to prevent herself from being overwhelmed by the fact that she had just encountered another individual out in this area, Althaea would attempt to take a step backward. She hadn't known who this mad lad had been but it was entirely likely that he had been one of those rouges that she had heard so much about. After all, why else would such an individual be absolutely covered in scarring? Of course it was also possible that he had been a member of the Crimson Lions or something. From what her father had mentioned to her in the past, the noble family that tends to reside over the Crimson Lions had often had crimson hair as well. Honestly, either option had been just as viable. Her plan had been to take a few steps back before performing an 'about face' and rushing off to find some semblance of safety. She hadn't quite managed to get quite that far however. Upon taking that initial step backwards, Althaea would step on a twig and would cause it to snap in half, undoubtedly alerting the crimson haired individual of her presence.
