It had been a few days since she saw Maria, she imagined see would see her again eventually, a second usually always followed a third encounter. But for today she would be so busy that it didn't matter as she had her own personal matters to attend to, she intended to join the magic knights through the exam, it's not that she really cared to be one, but the dangerous beasts and sitautions they encountered were no doubt on a larger scale then any simple job could give her, well she didn't know that for certain but after meeting with Maria she was starting to think some people, just some, were in fact, maybe alright..?
A strange thought for her to even process but even that would have to wait as today was the whole reason she came to Nairn in the first place, her actual business here was with a member of the church on a personal affair. Pastor Letari. a older man with dark rimmed glasses and a scruffy beard, from what Amelia could tell from the private talk with him before, he was in fact a kind man that cared for his fellow disciples. Although he smoked and looked a bit rude for the job he did it well. Amelia could respect that.
So it was just about the meeting time for that and Amelia made her way through the streets to one of the local churches in the area, opening up the creaking wooden door to peer inside, it was empty since it was not time to pray, but she could see Pastor Letari reading the book on top of the stairs down the corridor. Walking in the pastor looked up, "Oh no, please don't let me stop a man of faith from doing his daily prayers." Amelia said stepping in and taking a seat in one of the chairs visibly relaxing.
"It's quite alright, I was just re-reading a favorite line of mine, the part about belief. Do you believe mame?"
Amelia left corner of her mouth wrinkled, "I can't say I am or I do, and I dare not utter my beliefs in another's household, if that's alright with you pastor." It was true, Amelia could not say she believed in a god, however she did know there was something beyond this world, to that end she did not know but she believed in that, more than any god she has ever heard of. "A pity, you're job record would make you most applicable for a church role, as one of our protectors." Amelia chuckled a bit at the pastor's words, "Sorry, but if the job pays well and it's for something I can stomach, I can still help you out. Now, shall we get on with the actual reason I'm here."
The pastor finally closed his book with a half smile, "But of course mame. I bring you here today to hunt a mystifying creature one of my beast tamer disciples in the woods a few kilometers from here..." Before he finished, " A mana beast fox with sensory and tranformation type spells, we been over this in our first encounter but why is it so special? Does it have any prior history?" Amelia asked attempting to get the information to help her find it. "They call it Black Mist, this fox mana type is almost similar to ash magic as it disappears and reappears always in black ash like smoke hanging densely in an area. As far as reports go it lives in an old abandoned wagon out in the forest. I have hired two others to help you find it."
"What? Without asking me? You heard I work alone." The man took a deep breath, "It's for you're own protection, I have sent some others to get the fox for me but none of them came back, I fear the fox may attack if threatened or worst.

Despite the fact that he had been a Deacon of the Church of Clover, it wasn't very often that he had been asked to assist in the matters of others within Nairn. As of late, he had been assigned various tasks by the Spring Bishop but most of them had taken place outside of the town in which he had been assigned. Not that he would complain about such a thing. While he had loved taking care of the orphans that had been getting brought up within the Church of Nairn, he had embraced the fact that he was often going to be needed elsewhere. It just so happens that at this current moment, a Priest of his local church had been the one to request his assistance. This was... different. Usually orders had come from the Spring Bishop but this was fine. After all, there wasn't too much reason to deny his senior within the Church.
The Priest that had gone as far as to request his assistance had been known as Letari. Some had called him Pastor while others would call him Father or Priest. For Thaddeus, it mattered not what he had been known as by others. Within this parish, Letari had stood atop of him in rank and as such, to Thaddeus at least, he had been known as only Letari. The two hadn't known one another for all that long, given that it hadn't been the longest that Thaddeus had found himself as a Deacon of the Church of Clover, but they were on more or less amicable terms with one another. From what Thaddeus had gathered, Letari was hoping for him to assist two others in tracking down a mana beast whilst simultaneously protecting them from the dangers that this beast may pose. He had spoken much on the capabilities of this fox like mana beast and had seemed to know far more about it than Thaddeus had been expecting him to. Black Mist was what the beast had been known as. This whole thing had felt rather strange to the Spring Deacon but rather than worry too much about it, he would simply shrug off his worries and prepare for this little upcoming adventure.
After he had completed gathering everything that he might need for this little escapade that he was being sent on, Thaddeus would return back to the main hall of the Church. As he had found himself exiting one of the many hallways located deeper within the church, he would push the door open and come to take note of two individuals within the main hall. From what he could see, one of them had been Letari. The other though? This must be one of the individuals that he was been tasked with protecting. A teenage girl reddish orange hair and dark gold eyes. This was the first time that he had seen her before and her appearance had definitely caught his attention. Why was this the first time that he had been meeting her? Perhaps he was being sent outside of his parish too often.
Not wishing to disturb the two too much, Thaddeus would quietly begin to make his way into the main hall. As he would do so, he would be sure to quietly close the wooden door behind him in a way that wouldn't allow for too much noise to echo throughout the hall. Once this had been accomplished, he would walk on over towards the pair and offer them a soft smile. "Letari, I assume that this is one of the individuals that I have been tasked to assist?" The Spring Deacons gaze would than fully shift so that it was focused solely on this particular female. "It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance miss. My name is Thaddeus Wilhelm and I am a Deacon of the Church of Gnome. May the Spirits watch over us as we undergo our journey today." The dwarf would than take a deep bow before returning to his upright position. He hadn't known much about those who he was going to protect but by Gnome, he was going to do everything within his power to ensure that they were safe.

Just as the pastor began to explain the fox history on her request Amelia wondered what could have possibly happen to a fox to make it so important, confirming with the pastor it seemed the fox had been in the area for almost a few years and it primarily hung in one particular area, said area was usually covered in a dense fog, the only other clue was some abandoned wagon the creature hung around by, "I see.."
The slight noise that the creaking wooden door made was enough to reach Amelia's ears but she was a bit in deep thought about the mystery behind the mana beast she was being sent out to hunt, that and the pastor seemed to not be alarmed despite facing that way, watching his facial expressions as his head rose up she saw a smile appear on his face as he stepped out from behind the podium, "Deacon Thaddeus, thank you so much for coming to my aid." The pastor said coming up to him and giving a light bow to his superior
Turning around Amelia would look the new arrival in the face, well not really she was shorter so she had to tilt her head up to see a man, not just any man however a deacon of the church. His skin tanned but she could see no scars, his hair jet black with a moderate healthy sheen to it. He looked rather handsome. Brough out of her thoughts as the Deacon asked if she was going to be the one he was helping the Pastor nodded, "Yes this is Amelia Hades she is a hunter of low renown but her hunting sheet is spectacular." However before the pastor could finish that last part the Deacon moved towards Amelia and she stood in place, golden eyes staring into his black one's as he introduced himself as Thaddeus Wilhelm, "The pleasure is all mine Deacon Thaddeus. I'm sure the spirits will favor are fortune today as long as we respect the inhabitants of the forest ,I'm sure of it.~" Amelia said grabbing the edges of her jacket and taking a curtsy although she was wearing leather black pants, "Is this respectful? I have little understanding of the churches customs.." Amelia cracked a half smile while brushing her hair behind her ears.
Just as they finished introducing themselves a third member of the church stepped in and gave the pastor a letter, the pastor opening the letter as it said urgent to read it, "A pity it seemed the third member isn't coming, no matter, do you think you and Deacon Thaddeus could handle this matter on your own?" The pastor asked looking back and forth between Thaddeus and Amelia, "I believe it be doable, the beast doesn't seem to focus to much on offense and more on deception and trickery, me and the Deacon should be well equipped.
Once the deacon agreed then Amelia would begin to walk out with him, the pastor already securing a wagon for them to travel to that part of the forest on, taking seat Amelia would pat the seat next to her basically telling the Deacon to sit next to her, "So Deacon Thaddeus, how does it feel to be part of the member of the church?" Amelia asked while the wagon began moving.

Truthfully, Thaddeus couldn't help but allow for the corners of his lips to curl up into that of a smirk as he had watched the huntress perform a curtsy. While it wouldn't surprise him to see people offering various forms of respect to the members of the Church, this was the first time that anyone had ever done this before him. It had been a rather intriguing sight to the Spring Deacon as he would tilt his head off to the side while maintaining a fixed gaze upon the woman's form. "I assure you that no such niceties are required, Miss Hades." That smirk of his would than transform into a full blown smile as he had begun to softly laugh to himself. "I must admit that I do appreciate the attempt though. To me, it already seems as though our partnership is off to a great start. Even if we don't have this third member of ours."
Figuring that he would be capable of handling anything that was thrown at him, whilst simultaneously protecting the huntress if it had come down to it, Thaddeus had begun to nod to himself a bit. "I guess that it's just us then. We'll be back sometime soon, Letari, I'm sure. See you then." Naturally the Spring Deacon would begin to follow after the huntress from here, ensuring that he would take a seat properly beside her. "You needn't refer to me as Deacon Thaddeus but I suppose that you may continue if you wish. However, just Thaddeus would suffice if you would like. I'm not really one for all that formality, outside of the workplace." The Spring Deacon would begin to slump down in his seat and lie back in a way that would allow for his head to rest against the side of the carriage. Craning his neck to the side so that his full focus could be directed towards the huntress, Rhydian would begin to ponder over how exactly to answer her question. Once an answer would come to him, he would continue on.
"I suppose that it feels much like what it would be to be a Magic Knight. Even though us members of the Church aren't out there battling Archdademon's on the front lines and such, we tend to do our best to ensure the safety of this kingdom. Both in a religious sense and in a physical sense. Once the Magic Knights leave, many tend to forget about the people that are left behind. The people that were truly affected by the things that those knights are sent to hunt. It is us members of the Church that take care of those people and offer them peace of mind. We are the ones that watch over the orphaned children and try to give back to the community in whatever ways we can. That's not to say that we don't get our fair share of danger though. I've had to deal with many a cult up to this point and am constantly working alongside those of the Magic Knights whenever I am able to. If it were up to me, I would be out there on the frontlines alongside each of them, taking on the archdaemons and devils." A soft sigh would escape from the Deacons lips as he would begin to imagine what it would be like to live that dream of his. To become a Saint of the Clover Kingdom and protect this kingdom from anything that was thrown their way. "To answer your question, it's quite a wonderful place to be. Honestly, I would recommend that you join the church if you aren't too interested in joining up with the Magic Knights. There are very few of us spread throughout the kingdom and well... If you managed to get Letari to like you than I'm sure that you would fit in just fine around here." Thaddeus would than begin to mumble something beneath his breath, not sure if Amelia had been able to hear him or not. "It does get quite lonely out here on my own after all."

Never really doing a curtsy before besides a few times while pretending to be some prissy princess to amuse herself in the woods, Amelia curtsy was a bit unstable, she had to adjust her footing quickly hoping Deacon Thaddeus wouldn't notice. A smile spreading across his face he did seem to like it although he admitted that she did not have to do that, "Oh! Is that so? Well I suppose its fine for our first encounter anyway." Amelia said glancing away and taking a quick breath in and out, she was still a bit embarrassed but she had to play it off somehow.
"Yes I do believe so Deacon Thaddeus, a pleasure to meet you~" Amelia said as she let off a small soft smile, in truth she didn't know how to treat a church person but this one was seeming to be...more than human? She didn't even know what she meant by that but she felt very at peace with Deacon Thaddeus, although she could not call herself much of a believer perhaps she had church people figured out all wrong, a curious thought. The other church member and there client Letari confirmed there was just them, Thaddeus asking if that was okay and Amelia having no qualms, maybe not so much a believer of gods, Amelia did believe the spirits, she could feel the spirit of the forest everyday living out there.
Ready to go Amelia walked with Deacon Thaddeus to there transport to the forest where the fox was spotted, getting on the wagon Amelia decided to get to know Deacon Thaddeus a bit more, she liked him enough to know more, totally as a friend though, yeah she was sure..? Anyway asking him a simple question of what it felt like to be part of the church Amelia would find Thaddeus correcting her, or rather telling her that she did not have to call him Deacon outside of the church is what she was gathering, although she could if she want to Thaddeus was alright. "Okay than Thaddeus~" Amelia said turning her body to look directly at him as she took upon sitting on her knees to look him in the eye, "indulge me with an answer~" Amelia said it nicely but it was clear she definitely wanted an answer, i mean she even said it just to be crystal clear.
Waiting, giving Thaddeus time to think Amelia relaxed, taking a look around and sniffing the air to make sure the area was clear of any...hiccups. Hearing Thaddeus begin Amelia sights fell back onto him as he spoke, Thaddeus answer gave her a glimpse of what she expected, a bit surprised that the church actually went out and helped the people, not just with words but with actions, Thaddeus describing some of the work he did as well put the church in a far better light than Amelia would have first though, "And I'm sure, if you have that typa passion in your heart..it will surely come true one day. "Amelia smiled as she changed her position from one leg spreading out to her side, the other was upright and she put her head on it to rest as she looked at Thaddeus.
A more than curious question hit Thaddeus lips though, her joining the church, "How funny Letari attempted to persuade me to join as well. I must say though, you're testimony to the church life has me very intrigued, doing great things for the kingdom but not seeking overall fame from it, doing great things for the spirits and the kingdom, dangerous, requires discipline, faith, and the strength to look the most unsavory thiings in the eye? Sounds like a truly righteous occupation but perhaps I'll save my answer for another time. However, if you need a partner on your oh so lonely journeys~" Oh yeah Amelia heard him mumble, "Then I would be a willing participant."
"Dense forest fog up ahead, we must be getting near!" The wagon driver called as Amelia then turned towards the forest to see exactly that, a part of the forest they were passing through was getting foggy, "Were in it's zone now. We should get off here."

The Spring Deacon couldn't help but smirk to himself as Amelia would suggest that she would be willing to join him on his journeys in the future. Of course the way that she had admitted as much had left Thaddeus turning his gaze away from her in embarrassment. He hadn't thought that he had spoken loud enough for her to hear him but clearly he had been wrong. Not that he was too concerned with it thus far. She had seemed to be willing to join him in the future, after all, so all's well that ends well.
After a matter of time, the duo would find themselves pulling up to the forest in which they were going to have to search for this mana beast. There wasn't a ton that he personally had known about the beast but with the information that Letari had given to the pair, Thaddeus was sure that he would be able to come out on top here. Especially if he was going to have this huntress at his side. While he hadn't quite known what her skill level had been, Thaddeus was certain that Letari wouldn't be singing her praises if it was to be subpar. "I see... That is a sound idea." The Spring Deacon would begin to stand up before throwing himself over the ledge of the wagon that they had been inhabiting. From what he had come to know, it was said that the beast that they were searching for had been near an old abandoned wagon within these woods... That in and of itself had slightly worried the Spring Deacon but he was sure that it would be fine in the end.
"Amelia, I don't wish to alarm you with what I am about to do so... Please be still." The Spring Deacon would than begin to pat on his chest with the side of his left hand while stating the names of both himself and the huntress. "Thaddeus and Amelia." Upon taking this action, a slab of Carbon Matter would appear before Thaddeus. Said Carbon Matter would than attempt to shoot out towards it's intended targets, those being both himself and the huntress. Naturally Thaddeus would simply allow for the slab to slam into his chest but as for Amelia? Well only time would tell if the slab would manage to pull her into its embrace. Once the slab had managed to reach the recipients of the spell though, the slab would wrap around its recipient and become a suit of armor, thus outfitting them (presumably the pair but if not, just Thaddeus) in a matter of seconds. "This should keep us secure from any or most of the attacks that the mana beast may force upon us. I assure you that it will be okay. I am hoping that you will trust me to be by your side in this case." Not wishing to get too ahead of himself, Thaddeus would begin to gesture off towards the mists and fog of the forest. "I shall do my best to back you up from behind so you go ahead and lead the way. It is my goal to ensure your safety.. I'll do whatever it takes to uphold that without impeding on your freedoms."

Offering to be a partner for his travels Amelia didn't know if she was actually considering joining the church however, he made it tempting. Anyway a slight flush on his face Amelia gave a small chuckle as if trying to hide it as she turned her head to see that they were getting close. Letting Thaddeus know they should move on ahead on foot he agreed to get off with her.
Giving a warning about something Amelia noticed his hand wave and although she did flinch for a second she steadied herself as some type of liquid armor flowed around her covering her in a protective layer like armor, except she didn't feel restricted at all, "That's so cool!" Amelia said checking herself out in all sorts of directions, "I'm the Maiden Knight!" She was goofing off a bit.
Stepping off the drop of the carriage and dropping feet first to the floor Amelia walked at a steady pace, Thaddeus would be meant with a rare sight of having see Amelia upturn her nose into the air, a subtle twitch of her nose as she sniffed the area for odors not hers and Thaddeus, not finding anything in the air Amelia however did find prints, fox prints. They were fresh but there was at least more than two, Amelia didn't hear anything about that..
Oh Thaddeus was still talking, she paid half attention as the tracks caught her eye but he gave her deep reassurance that he could keep her moderately safe under the circumstances, she honestly was a bit flattered that someone was offering to protect her, she could recall a few times being left behind to fend for herself when she tried to team up with others. "Yes thank you Thaddeus, however it should us protecting each other, no? Were partners after all." Amelia corrected him as she then pointed to the ground, "Look Thaddeus I spotted fox tracks but..more than one. I do not recall the priest mentioning more than one fox, if his information is wrong we need to find out just how many foxes are in the area. For now though, we should make a hasty retreat , the fog is thick and if they outnumber us were be at risk." Deciding to retreat from the area due to finding more than one fox print Amelia would ask the church to send a few more scouts to check out the mana beast territory, they had missed something Amelia was sure of it.

Given that he had seen no real reason to argue with the logic that the huntress was presenting him with, Thaddeus would begin to nod several times over. It was clear that his magic was to be wasted here for the time being but that is alright. With things being as they were, it would just mean that the duo was going to have to regroup and decide on how to go about things moving forward.
"I suppose that I can see the logic behind what it is that you are asking. If you are more confident in us finding out more about the situation before proceeding onward than we shall certainly go about requesting further information from the father. Hopefully our scouts can find more about the fox and the likes... Than again, I wouldn't be all that surprised if they were to just send us back out here." From there the Spring Deacon would depart from the area, alongside the huntress.
