Escort missions were the worst. Like why was she force to take them. "'Its good practice Klara', they said. 'Its great experience for the Exam,' they said. Well its just boring." The girl quietly whined why lying along to top of a stone. Also the type of people to attack merchants like this were just bottom of the barrel peasants. The girl had half a mind to just let them win so they can get stronger and thus pose a greater challenge but she was invited as a Wilhelm, so she had to uphold the "Wilhelm" standard. Though... that did lead her to wonder. Another person was invited to join in on this mission. So would they be informed that a Wilhelm was on this assignment? She never did give her full name to anyone she met out side of typical nobility that she was force to meet. With her dark purple cloak and hood down, brown shirt, dark blue shorts, and purple sandals, she awaited whatever annoyances would come as the merchants finished packing up their stuff.
"I suppose every chance is just another type of opportunity.." Amelia said to herself as she walked through a miniature forest pathway, it was a line she often repeated when doing something she didn't want to do or frankly enjoy, the thing she didn't want to do today was meet up with some random stranger during an escort mission. Amelia actually wished it was just some random stranger but unfortunely it was some noble family member, Wilheims or something. She thought the name familiar but couldn't put a finger on it nor try, she would just do her job well and hope it pleased thy majesty so she could return to her usual state of affairs.
Perhaps if she did well enough said noble would grant her the ability or give her some higher sourced information so she could make even more money off of them and connect to more influential people. She just had to make every chance a opportunity right? Right.
So arriving at the merchant departure area Amelia broke pass some tree's to see a few caravans being prepared for the journey, walking down Amelia nose twitched as she caught a familiar scent, she didn't know who but she kept moving to find the merchant, turning around one of the caravans to see someone she was actually glad to see, "Oh it's the loud girl." Amelia said as she smiled and began walking towards the girl cladded in a purple hooded jacket, brown shirt and dark blue pants and some nice sandle's, "Didn't expect to you see you again, we got to stop meeting up like this." Amelia said as she was biting on a piece of wheat, Amelia dressed in a simple white cotton shirt, dark brown jacket with the white fur around the neck area stretchy leather pants and her winter brown boots.
"Loud..." The girl shouted in protest. Her position shifted so that her feet dangled off wall towards the arriving person. It was not the first time she met them. No in fact this was the 3rd time and they haven't even shared names. That was no problem since the girl did have her own nickname for the woman. "Oh, its Hero. I suppose I can forgive you but for the record. I am not loud!" The girl raised her head so that her smile could peek out from the hood's shadow. "What are you doing here?"
It was at this time that the head merchant clapped their hands. All parties were here and so it was time to move forward. "You took a job like this? Are you sure your ready hero? I heard their are very strong enemies on this path. Some that would not falter when faced with a symbol of justice!" A snicker escaped the girl's mouth showing the crack in her facade. While this mission was not going to be fun, the girl was happy to at least know and interesting person was going to be here.
"Yes, loud." Amelia uttered again as she turned the corner to see the girl as she was shifting from her position off the wall to face her, a tinge of confusion hung in the air until she felt the girls gaze finally hit her as Amelia could see s bit of her eyes pasd the purple hoodie she was wearing.
Amelia gave the girl a nickname because she didn't know hers and the girl was the same way, this being their third meaning yet they both neither bothered to reveal such information to each other yet the connection between the two was a bit more pleasant. That was until Amelia heard her nickname, "hero", immediately her face twisted in disguise as her lips curled up and her eyes narrowed but she quickly got a hold of herself as the girl chose to forgive her but was wondering why she was there. "Same as you I suppose." Amelia shot back.
Anyway the time it took them to chat was long enough for the merchant and his people to finish packing up and they were ready to depart now. The loud girl began questioning if she was ready for the task, something about being a symbol of justice and the thieves or enemies were going to be too strong for her to handle, Amelia blinked at the girl just thinking to herself, " What the fuck did she just say?"
In any case Amelia smiled back at the mostly hoodie girl, releasing a puff of air out her lungs as she walked towards the main merchant caravan or the one with the most important stuff, "I don't know about this hero stuff but I'm ready to go whenever, strong enemies or not, and the name is Amelia, Amelia Hades. Now let's go , we got enemies to defeat and merchants to protect, yeah?"
It was cute how the girl twitch after being called what she was. It made Maria want to continue to say the name just to rile the girl up. Just for fun of course. She did no actually want to really harass her. Just a small amount of bullying. It was something her older siblings did to her so clearly it was okay for her to do it to others. Plus, she was a powerful noble anyway. People should be ecstatic she's even talking to them, not that she was going to admit to being one for an mission like that.
As it was time to go, the girl was preparing to jump off the wall. Still, she did wonder what the Hero was going to say in response to the whole Image of Justice bit. Her response was amusing enough though a bit less confrontational. It was a bummer but again, she was not really trying to cause problems. So she had to take what she was given. Another disappointing thing was that the girl finally gave her name, something Maria could not help but chuckle at. Not only was she an actual somebody, she could not just call her Hero anymore. This did not mean she would drop it all together, but unprovoked, she would at least be giving her a more proper greeting. "Yep and anyone who tries to rob merchants like these the worst and probably lesser than the dirt under my foot. I have great expectations for you Ms. Amelia." The girl would jump off the wall and pat off the dirt from her legs, shorts, and cape. "Oh and my friends call me Klara. It's a pleasure to finally meet you." The girl let out a small giggle while curtsying and then started jogging towards the front of the Caravan.
The girl wanted to find a spot stand watch and due to her height and well stature, she figured it would better to sit somewhere high up. That way she could stand above everyone and see danger coming before the much taller people. Of course the best place to sit was above on top of a stack of crates. It put her just above the top of the wagon in the front where the more wealthy people were resting out of the sun. It was a bit bumpy of a trip but what were they going to do. "So... tell me, why the deal with the Hero thing? Most people would be ecstatic to have such a title. Maybe a bit embarrassed if it was not earned but you... your not some leech trying to take to fabric of others achievements to weave your own blanket of fame."
And so, meeting a third time Amelia had a nickname for her, simply "loud girl", the girl not taking it to heart even shot one back at her in a tasteful way by calling her a hero, Amelia was not okay with being called a hero but she wasn't angry at all or anything, just didn't like to be called one, she didn't feel much like a hero and she definitely didn't intend to live up to the so called hero mantle.
Knowing the girl was just teasing her in the same way Amelia made a conscious decision to not make a big deal out of it, she didn’t hate the word hero, just what it usually implied. Giving a rather somber reaction to the girl’s hero thing Amelia just stated she was prepared to go at a moment’s notice as she began walking up to the main caravans, if it was one thing Amelia was sure about, she could handle herself decently in a fight, if she survived one, she lived to fight another with even better skills, she was constantly evolving her fighting style to new peaks, she had to not only to survive but thrive, and she would do so no matter what.
Feeling invigorated now Amelia gave a snorty chuckle as Klara as she would call her now mentioned the thieves that stole from merchants were less than the dirt under her feet, “Yeah, I agree. Stealing from others whom worked hard to make a living is hard to forgive, killing them off so they could never recover..that’s unredeemable, they will know exactly what the dirt underneath our feet taste like, Princess Klara it is a pleasure to meet you too~” Yeah she liked that, something about the girl gave her this princess feel, authoritative, confident maybe a bit overconfident? Anyway yeah, Princess Klara was a better nickname.
“By the way you can drop the ms if you want, just call me Amelia, it’s not like I’m royalty or somethin and definitely don’t curtsy to me, it’s weird since we're friends now and all. Or I’m I just jumpin to conclusions? Sorry it's been a long time since I talked to anyone like this. ”
Anyway the caravans being operated by the merchants began to move, Klara choosing a position on top of the crates to catch a higher view than everyone Amelia assumed, instead, Amelia herself placed herself standing on top of a large wooden desk that sat on the top of one caravan, the surface flat in design allowing her to stand almost indefinitely while perfectly balanced, besides that the table was somewhere between the ground and where Klara was sitting at the top of the crates, Amelia sniffing the air and ears twitching occasionally as she used her senses to naturally observe the immediate vicinity for any changes such as sounds and new scents, her eyes drifting back and forth as well on a repeated motion.
About the fifth time Klara caught her off guard with a rather deep question, why did she hate the idea of being a hero. Instantly Amelia gave a dry chuckle, “That question is a rather deep question, are you sure that you can handle my answer princess Klara?” Right after saying that Amelia's nose caught a sudden heat wave around her arms, “Hmm..!” Amelia responded as she looked at her arms and she began to feel the air around her be heated up just a few degrees in temperature. “I think I sense someone using heat magic but I can’t detect where it’s coming from.” Amelia responded as she began shifting her eyes around again to spot anything standing out.
"Princess, I suppose that's fitting." Maria snicker as she jumped up onto the boxes. It was then that Amelia asked her to drop the formalities. This was the 4th noble to do this. It was interesting and disappointing. Formalities were a great thing to hide behind. The next thing the girl said, well really the next next thing, was something the girl could bite on. "Well, you did call me Klara. So... you at least are claiming that. If you don't want to be my friend, I suppose princess is acceptable. I don't mind having more servants." Maria stuck her tongue playfully and then started looking around.
"Sounds like your being insubordinate to your princess. How... shameful," the girl giggled again. Eventually though, their peaceful mood would get interrupted as Amelia detected people. Maria would stand up, attempted to balance herself on her unstable seat and look around. She was not great at sensing thing and now was another instinct of that being a problem. Still, she knew her strength would show in the thick of battle. She started cracking her knuckles and readied herself to jump off and strike the first thing to read as hostile.
“I thought so~” Asking to drop formalities since Amelia wasn’t a royal or something Klara teased that she at least was calling her by her name but if she didn’t want to be her friend princess was just fine as she needed more servants.
“Tempting~ Servants get free three meals a day and all they have to do is a little hard labor right? Sounds tempting but rather not Princess Klara, being your friend is more than enough for me~. Those poor servants that have to keep up with you thought, now I’m sure they have many embarrassing stories to tell~” Amelia said smugly
The back and forth teasing ending, Amelia was focused until Klara popped a question that Amelia didn’t want to particularly answer at the moment due to being on the job, and she wasn’t quite sure herself as to why, it was like a feeling buried deep inside that she couldn’t phantom. Her answer, or how she felt or felt that she felt about that subject, she didn’t know if that was the definite answer she wanted to give but she supposed Klara deserved an answer if she really wanted to know, she did just call her a friend after all. Teasing again Amelia asked if Princess Klara could handle it, Klara saying she was being insubordinate, “I guess I am~” Amelia giggled.
But that giggle was cut short as she felt heat radiate across her skin all of a sudden that was different from the sunlight touching her, Amelia warned Klara of what she felt and the girl too began to get a bit more into a battle position. From Klara higher position, from nine meters east of her she could see embers of fire peeking past the brush of the forest, the bushes moving, a single man came out with a torch in hand, the man was hooded, almost dressed like a paid assassin, from the forest nine others appeared, each with a torch in there hand spread out on the left and right side of the man creating an arrow tip like formation, “GIVE UP! Nowhere to run! Nowhere to hide, just give us your goods and the merchants, and we'll let you hire help go at least, good deal eh?” The man standing in the front yelled from his position.
“And what if we refuse~?” Amelia said as she tapped her knuckles against each other as her grimoire lifted into the air and stopped at a page, “Then like the merchant, prepare to burn. Now boys!” The leader said as they all began to throw torches into the air aiming towards the caravan, a good three missing, and the remaining torches five meters in the air about to hit the caravans.
From the page in Amelia Grimoire rose thorn plants started to form as from her book a glaive projected itself out shooting towards the leader that was speaking, the glaive itself shooting out a certain scent that seemed to rush forward past it moments before, BOOM! A scent blast that was powerful enough to extinguish the flame from the torches before they hit the caravans resulting in only light ambers that left a black soot behind as the only “damage” The bandits were just out of the reach of the scent but the glaive itself pierced through the new mist scent and impaled the shoulder of the leader, “Gah!” The leader called out, pulling the weapon out of his shoulder as the group started pulling out various weapons, “ATTACK!!!”
Maria was happy that the other girl was happy to be friends. "I expect the best from those that work for me heh."
Eventually though, the thing Amelia sensed would reveal themselves in front of the caravan. 10 bugs stood holding torches. The girl slammed her fist together to summon her amber's strength. Amelia was the first to confront them. She was so nice. Engaging with the group and their demands. She was not going to give them what they wanted but these brief moments she allowed them to have was the very blessing they needed in their lives to change. Unfortunately, they blew all their luck by throwing their torches. Which by the way was stupid.
Maira prepared to activate a defensive spell, but Amelia took care of it with her own magic. Yet again, she did not engage. A show of power and another warning for the group to cease their action only fueled the groups drive to get hurt. They shouted attack so Maria charged forward. Jumping from wagon to wagon until she was in the front. Then she leaped high into the air and dove down into the middle of the group of bandits. dirt and dust flew everywhere stopping a few of the men in their boots. It was here that the girl launched a heavy uppercut sending one of the men into the air. Then she use the falling momentum to back hand another man out of the road. A dark laugh escape the girl mouth. "You all had not 1, but 2 warnings to back off. We even had to save the precious cargo you wanted to steal. You all are the worst. It won't be even a little bit fun... breaking you."
"May your benevolence ever rain down upon me princess Klara~" Amelia did a little bow to her friend while giggling genuinely.
The fun had ended rather quickly though and suddenly a ten man team of bandits of various sizes and heights came upon them, each one having a torch in hand ready to burn the caravan down, the bandits called out to them and basically asked for there complete surrender which had very little chance of happening from the start but now Amelia definitely didn't want to give up anything to them. Amelia already made up her mind to beat them down but she was being playful even with the laughable bandit group asking what they would do if they refused to back off.
The bandit answer was to burn them down with the merchants, some thieves, they would burn what would be edible food and supplies all for gold and coin, it seemed stupid but in either case she was going to have to put out those torches that she could see the man ready to throw, the order given to do just that. Having already done some prep work Amelia had a glaive in her hand already and so, giving her arm a twist motion, muscles slightly flexed as she thrust her hand forward the glaive spun through the air first releasing a scent blast that expelled enough force to put out the torches as they passed by, the torches leaving little to no damage because of it. Her glaive had already been aimed at the leader's shoulder so when he didn't have the sense to dodge it the blade impaled his right shoulder causing him to grunt as his shoulder started bleeding, the bandit pulled it out but now he had a open bleeding wound, Amelia nose twitching as she caught the whiff of his blood mixed with his personal scent that she could track.
At that point the man yelled for his bandits to attack them and her and Klara began to make individual moves to knock out the force in front of them, Klara jumping from wagon to wagon placing herself in the middle as she pounced down. Amelia on the other hand did a front flip forward off of the desk she was on and began to run as another glaive appeared from her grimoire as she speed up to 8 m/s as Klara landing caused a dust storm, using that to her own advantage Amelia grimoire shot out the glaive and she caught it midst running, tossing the glaive directly up as she spun counter clockwise next to it grabbing it with her left hand as she flexed her muscles and thrust the glaive forward turning the curved tip to the side slashing the side torso of about three man by thrusting forward. Letting her strength go Amelia twirled the glaive in her hand so the blunt end was forward Amelia let it touch the unsettled dirt from Klara first attack, the blunt end nestled into it as she then put strength back in her arms and spun dragging the dirt and gathering it around as she then flicked it off her glaive right into the immediate bandits surrounding her messing with there sight again. Amelia running to the first person she saw, leaping up and kneeing their chin, while doing a back flip with her glaive in hand landing back on her feet and dashing forward while thrusting the blunt end to the mans chest pushing him into some of the other bandits behind him while knocking the air out of his lunges with the back of her glaive. Magic was everywhere. Earth and stone was few through the air. Some of it was from the enemy's magic and Maria could not avoid it all taking two instincts of intermediate damage, but most of it was from the after effects of her ally and her powerful magic. In return for tanking those hits, she was able to escape the possible collateral damage of her partner and move to the edge of the battlefield. She was completely really underestimated her but it was for the better as, now she was in position to launch another assault safety. The first was a haymaker straight into the dome of the first guy to hit her mana skin. The next was a sweep kick to the person behind her that she used the momentum from her first strike to lower her body for the surprised attack. Both were devastating and would drop 2 more healthy bandits.
From there, the girl would jump back as a large boulder threaten to crush her from above. These bandits were surely trying to get whatever wins they could in this chaotic environment but the girl was not going to give them any more hits for free. She did not like have dirt on her cloak after all. "Whoa Amelia. That is some crazy magic. Maybe I just join the bandits and challenge you. It would make for a better opponent you know. Maybe I could get a better reputation." The girl gleefully smile after joke. "Plus, these punks look like they need the help."

"We!" Amelia heard one of the bandits yell from her left, "Got ya!" Another voice from her right, Taking a deep breath Amelia felt her body excel, keeping herself moving Amelia did a back flip as she sped up from 8m/s to 11 m/s as she threw her glaive up into the air, backflipping out of the way of the two guys as they smashed there wooden clubs against each other, Amelia stepping on her fore foot and dashing in to the right bandit, throwing a side kick right to the man's lung area as her Glaive continued falling back down, Amelia using her momentum still to spin counter clock wise hooking her leg around the men's neck then the other as she caught her glaive, Amelia twirling it in her hand to jam the tip down as she held onto the glaive, using pure leg strength to lift the man off the ground as she did a backflip using the length of her own glaive, throwing the man over the shoulder to smack against the ground.
Just as she finished the smoke cleared and before her stood the previously three injured man sticking to the fight and staring her down, however looking at them she noticed subtle shivering around the hands that they were holding weapons in, the metal looking unstable, that and she could smell pure adrenaline, musk gathering in the air in a thick scent mixing in with the forest scent. Standing her ground Amelia glaive holding arm outstretched making a moon like formation as she focused on them, her gaze piercing into her targets like any predator a prey
"You said you were going to finish me, come on then~!" Amelia said dashing in as her previous glaive faded but was reconstructed alongside a second glaive that hovered in the air beside her, throwing the glaive in her hand Amelia made sure the tip pierced the ground at a curved angle three meters away from the bandits, confident that she missed the bandits began to charge forward but she was much quicker as she ran right towards the impaled glaive on the ground, leaping at it with her arms fore front as she twisted her entire body around it's pole length unhooking it from the ground as she slashed through the tip of the ground itself slashing the bandit in front from the middle section up, , pulling her leg into herself Amelia then kicked the guy back as the two other bandits circled around her to attack.

Description: Amelia Grimoire opens up and she taps her knuckles together as the spell activates, from her grimoire the head of an enlarged rose emerges, continuing to come out the rose forms similar to a glaive consisting of rose thorn roots that grow and twist around each other to create a makeshift pole 7 feet long ending in a thorn that forms a 18 inch blade(45 centimeters) curved upward. Amelia's blade(s) is made of her magic and gives her or whoever holding it, a boost in power. Amelia can cause these creations to hover or shoot it towards something around her and potentially give to allies by making more than one via ammo rules.
The blade also has another effect, when first activated the spell causes the sword to release a certain type of scent blast that she can shoot up to five meters ahead in a single direction that then spreads in the area up to 5 meter AoE coming from the head of the rose. this scent causes drowsiness and slows down anyone hit by 2m/s upon being in it's range other than Amelia. This spell may attempt to blind using blinding rules via the scent by making the eyes heavier, additionally this spell can actively clash with healing spells or spells that buff in the attempts to turn healing into damage and buffs into debuffs Attempting to hit more than one person lowers the speed debuff to - 1m/s per person.
It was almost over. The horde of bandits was looking more like a club of misfits and only 3 of them were standing. Of those 3 only one could be deemed healthy enough possibly be a nuisance but that was give Maria was not there. Her partner in this matter was really putting forth the effort, annoying so many more bandits than she ever could. What could Maria do though? She was not the sacred hero of justice mean to shine light of truth and wholesomeness among the people. She was a strong person trying to prove herself. Still, she did do plenty here to get credit and the fight was almost over. Maybe she should let the hero deal with the group of people. But why should finish her workout strong.
The healthy bandit was standing behind the two injured ones prepping a spell to sling a slag of rock but Maria was on the case. Quickly rushing behind the man and sweeping his legs. Maybe there was a snap. Maybe he was not going to be walking away. Who knows. Maria would pick up the man. "Shame... dirt like you tried to dirty these poor people's clothes. Don't you know how much it cost to wash an outfit these days. Much more than you would ever be worth." The girl would then drag him out of the road and set him down by a rock. "Amelia. I think I am finish." Having complete faith her partner she returned to climbing up her crate of boxes and watching was was left of the fight.
Amelia stood there in front of the two injured bandits that began circling her as she kicked one guy and two more focused on her, the third and injured member being handled by Klara, allowing Amelia too focus on them, her eyes narrowed into a serious glare as her golden eyes seemed to glint as her mana seeped from the glaive in her hand, a moment of stillness as she waited for them to attack willingly.
"FUCK! FUCK! THIS WAS SUPPOSE TO BE A EASY JOB!!" one bandit yelled as he lifted his hands and in the air earthen rocks began to form and shoot towards her, using her glaive Amelia began using the tip and bladed sided of her glaive to cut the rocks that were going to hit her while walking forward, the speed of her movements increasing again to 14 m/s as she began a combination of both cutting the rock pieces and using the length of the blade to even send some back to the bandit as one hit him in his stomach causing him to stop the spell, using that chance amelia closed in, using her free hand to grab the man's shirt as she blitzed in, squeezing her head muscles with a serious frown to accompany it as she smashed her head into the bandit in front of her as she let him go, throwing her glaive straight up in the air as she did a backflip using her right leg to kick the man from down up, hitting his chin as she corrected herself.
Finishing him off the other one had used the time not so well as just as she was done he charged in blade first, Amelia moving to the side and with one simple side punch to the temple the guy dropped to the floor, "I think that's all of them Princess Klara~ I think we should call the local authorities to pick these guys up stay a bit and then move on with the caravan and merchants to finish the mission. And you can take all the fame again, I'm tired and want to take a nap now..wake me up when were back on the road okay?"
