Knowing there to be a cure to vampirism, at least as long as it is administered before the conversion from human into a vampire is completed with them dying as a result of the disease, a nobleman within the group going by the name Stanard sends you out to the Witches Forest to find several ingredients. Because the place is considered dangerous to the group, they refuse to go out themselves, sending you out there with a shopping list instead.

These ingredients are called: Twilight Foxglove, a beautiful purple flower that seems to glow with a dim hue. Devil’s Helmet, an equally beautiful dark purple flower that is extremely toxic and can kill a fully grown man just by making skin contact. And finally, Umbrella Hemlock, a white flower that grows on a small island in the middle of an equally small lake. Return these three flowers as intact as possible so Stanard can fashion them into a cure.

With the assistance of a nobleman that had gone by the name of Stanard, Thaddeus had understood what the next steps of this little vampire craze was going to have to be. It was quite clear to the Spring Deacon that the members of this order weren't going to be of much help in regards to gathering materials. If anything, they were essentially just going to pawn the task off on the Spring Deacon and the aspiring Magic Knight. 'Why work hard when you can just send someone else in your stead. Is that what they are thinking? I swear...' Left with no option other than to take his cousin with him and head on out, Thaddeus would take his leave of the members of the order and would begin his journey to the Witches Forest.
It had taken several days time, if not weeks, but eventually the duo would come to find themselves within the territory of the witches. "Now Klara.. This is going to be quite a dangerous task, from my understanding. Not so much because of the fact that we are here to gather flowers within this land but because of the fact that there are many a beast or mage that may wish to harm us while we are here. I'll do my best to keep us as safe as possible but... Just try and stay on your guard, yeah?" A soft sigh had slipped through the Spring Deacons lips as he had recalled the ingredients that they had been looking for. "The things that we are going to have to gather are flowers of a sort. There is Twilight Foxglove, which is a beautiful purple flower that apparently glows with a dim hue. Devil's Helmet is supposedly an equally beautiful dark purple flower that is extremely toxic and can kill through nothing more than skin contact... We'll definitely need to keep an eye out for that one and think of a way to gather it without exposing ourselves to danger. I suppose that my blessed armament can assist us in that matter. And as for the last flower? Well that is something known as Umbrella Hemlock. It's supposed to be a white flower that grows on a small island in the middle of a lake within the forest. Honestly, I'm not too sure about this whole thing but... We'll manage to be okay, I suspect."
Having decided to take the precaution beforehand, Thaddeus pats on his chest with the side of his left hand while stating aloud two names. "Thaddeus and Klara." Upon taking this action, a slab of Carbon Matter would appear before Thaddeus. Said Carbon Matter would than attempt to shoot out towards it's intended targets, one of them jettisoning towards Klara and the other making headway towards Thaddeus. Once the slab has managed to reach the recipients of the spell, if Maria hadn't decided to move out of the way of course, the slab would wrap around its targets and become a suit of armor, thus outfitting them in a matter of seconds

It was time to continue their mission for this quest to deal with a vampire attack. With the knowledge the two obtain, they began their journey to the witches forest. This would be Maria's first time in the area. They say there was a time when people were not allowed to enter it. Even right now, nobody is allowed to enter its capital. Maria had on her white cloak with a blue crop top and dark blue shorts. She brought with her a dark green bag with straw yellow sandals hanging from the back in case she had to go somewhere and be a bit civilized. Otherwise she prefer to be barefoot as they went through the forest.
Thaddeus opened up conversation with a warning of danger, something Maria was use too but she could not stop herself from at least saying something. "I'm always on my guard. You don't have to baby me all the time." That did not stop the man from being overly protective can casting his defensive magic, outfitting her in magical armor. "ugh... Thaddeus there's nothing hunting us here." She would not resist since it would be a waste of mana for both of them.
"Where are we going first anyway? Oh. Wanna split up? Then we can get everything faster?" That and she could have some space to breathe from the man. She did not understand why everyone wanted to treat her as a weak little girl. Granted she was a little girl but she was not weak and she was only little cause she did not roll well on the genetic lottery. Thaddeus should know this as he was older and just barely taller than her. It was pointless to argue though. The only way to prove them wrong was to show off her power. Then use that to get into one of the Magic knights squads.
The raven-haired necromancer walked away from the church deep within her own thoughts, she was unsure if this was the best thing for her to do, after all, she was an assassin amongst other things so keeping to the shadows was very much what she was meant to do. That being said both Jin and Fredrick wanted her to adapt to her new life away from her family, that wasn't exactly the easiest thing for her as her speech was still as broken as it had ever been. On the plus side, she was starting to understand currency and her drawing was getting better so she could explain more to Jin if she was struggling with speech or intended to go somewhere or do something when he wasn't around. Jin had even gotten her new art supplies recently as a gift which she was pleased about though she didn't understand what she had done to deserve them.
She had continued investigating a little and had found out that she hadn't been the only one who had been asking about such information, that two others had done the same earlier in the day. It had been difficult but she found out where they were heading and went in the same direction. She was an unknown rogue so she knew she had nothing to worry about in regards to working with people currently, the issue was her magic but then Fredrick had instructed her not to use Human, Elven or Dwarven wraiths in front of people unless there was something off about them. When she had inquired about her Pixie Sticks and other wraiths he handed her a paintbrush and told her she used paint magic that had a unique sound quality. He also instructed her pixie sticks not to speak in front of people not known or it could cause their 'mommy' issues.
Since that point, they've giggled, laughed and made noises regardless but they had always whispered in her ear when in front of strangers. She had walked from the village towards the location of the others, it had been nearing dusk when she had started and even seemed like it was going to rain. She didn't mind the rain so much and preferred the darkness due to her eyes, it meant she could remove her blindfold if needed but she rarely did as she could see through it perfectly. What it was meant for was to keep her own eyes protected from bright lights that would otherwise immobilize her. In her hand, she still held her red spider lily which she kept an eye on as it helped her know when there was a corpse nearby, she was glad it didn't glow when her wraiths were around or that would be awkward.
She guessed it had to do with the fact they weren't exactly dead any longer in the normal sense, they were alive with the help of magic. In her arms she carried her grimoire close to her chest almost like she was protecting it, the cover was always faced towards her as she remembered Jin's warning about how rare her magic was. It had taken a while but she saw two figures not too far away from her, she cautiously started moving towards them as raindrops started to fall. It wasn't exactly heavy rain but it wasn't going to be drizzle either. She got just close enough to hear their words faintly but stopped and waved at them, part of this was to say hello and the other part was to gain their attention.

Although he could understand where it was that Maria was coming from in her worry over how defensive he was, Rhydian had fully understood just how dangerous the Witches Forest could be. Or at least he had thought that he had understood as much. Various rumors had spread about the ways that the witches tended to act when others had entered their domain unannounced and Thaddeus hadn't wished any such things to happen to himself or those that he cares about. It was far safer to act in a protective manner and not need it than it would be to not do so and actually need it. "I understand where it is that you are coming from, Klara, but I am going to need you to trust me on this. There is no telling what we might encounter out here. Rather safe than sorry."
He would than begin to shake his head from side to side. He hadn't wished to leave her on her own. Especially not here. However, it was possible that he would need to loosen the reigns a bit on her. "I honestly don't recommend you running off out here but... I know that I can't stop you when you set your mind to something though." It is an this point that the Spring Deacon would begin to take note of an individual lurking nearby. Rain was beginning to pour down atop of them and now someone was closing the distance between them. This... wasn't looking good. "Klara, I am going to suggest that you be more on your guard now... Especially considering the fact that someone is making their way over towards us."
Not sure who this person had been, Thaddeus had begun to shake his head from side to side. He didn't wish to get too involved with this individual but it was beginning to seem necessary. After all, they were waving over to them and trying to grab their attention. Not quite sure what to do here, Thaddeus would reach back and place his hand on the hilt of his carbon spear. The carbon clad deacon would than begin to take a few steps towards the newcomer. "Who goes there..? And what is it that brings you here?"

Maria let out the most exaggerated sigh. "Fineeee~ I won't run off. But only because I don't want you having all the fun. Still though... You couldn't have this spell feel less stuffy? I feel like I'm in a dress." The girl started stretching her arms testing the limits of her movements since she was not use to wearing armor. It was not heavy, but there was weight. If she was not so physically active, this might be a bit draining. It was so weird but she would have to quit her experimenting when Thaddeus told her to be on her guard. "Oh, is there someone to fight. This is why I'm not leaving you. I won't get hurt this time." She walked towards Thaddeus and ready to activate any of her spells.
Unlucky for everyone, it started raining which just meant she was going to have water inside of her "armor." Though it did set the mood. If something was going to be ugly, now was the mood for it. Before them was what looked like a woman waving. They did not look dangerous or threatening... which did not mean much but she did not want to appear aggressive to someone peaceful. She was still trying to get into the magic knights after all. She turned to Thaddeus and waited for his instruction. She did have this fancy armor magic on so as far as she was concern, they were already ahead in this battle which was not happening.
Aelia continued towards the pair smiling and waving a little, she hoped it would be enough to show she wasn't any sort of threat. In honesty, she wasn't currently, after all, there were two of them and only one of her. She didn't know their strength nor their magics so in her mind it would be idiotic to try anything even if she wanted to. She moved to a slow jog to catch up with her blindfold now fully seen around her eye. It was odd as it didn't look like a traditional blindfold, it was more akin to lace. It would be quite easy to believe that she was wearing it more as a ploy to gain sympathy as it didn't really match her outfit. That wasn't the truth though, it had been a gift given to her from her partner in crime Jin as a way of an apology for insulting her wraith Fredrick.
The blindfold was a twin to his own apparently and he had found them both within the black market. It was quite deceiving though as it prevented light from getting to her sensitive eyes while allowing her to see as if it was night. Seeing the male grip the hilt of his spear she stopped in her tracks and pulled away almost as if she was afraid he was going to hurt her. This was no mere ploy as she was actively shaking at the action though it was clear she was trying to control it though struggling. Keeping her grimoire to her chest she pulled out a piece of paper from it and held it out towards the girl since she didn't seem to be the one wanting to hurt her. She looked as if she was ready to run in the opposite direction though.
On the piece of paper written in perfect and practised calligraphy were the words:
'Hello, my name is Airel, I am mute and I'm wanting to help.'
It was simple and straight to the point, she had several of these notes with different names she often held within her grimoire; after all, the only time her grimoire ever opened was when she was accepting new wraiths into it. Something she wouldn't do in front of strangers. She had been told by Fredrick and Jin that her magic was extremely rare and powerful, they had also told her that some people would try to use her as a weapon, others would hate and kill her due to it while others would just look down upon her. She didn't like any of those ideas especially since she couldn't control the magic she was born with any more than she could have chosen what happened to her mother. With the letter handed over, she waited to see what would happen as she was refused to get any closer due to Thaddus's apparent hostility towards her.

Although he hadn't wished to be directly threatening, Thaddeus had understood that there was no room for leniency in a place like this. There were too many variables that he couldn't prepare for and that in and of itself was a problem. Especially in a situation like right now where even the environment was preparing to fight them. "Klara... If you are going to draw closer to that person than be sure to be careful. We still need you to remain in your top condition for the time being."
As the figure within the rain had begun to draw closer, the Spring Deacon would begin to take in their very form. From the looks of it, the individual that was coming their way had been some kind of sickly pale woman. Her clothing and the accessories that she had chosen to wore had been a bit conflicting and honestly, Thaddeus wasn't quite sure how to handle the situation pertaining to her. After all of the talk of vampires, Thaddeus had been a bit concerned that this might be what the woman had been. To encounter one here whilst looking for a substance to heal the vampiric curse though? He couldn't tell if such a thing would have made him extremely lucky or extremely unlucky. Either way, it was unlikely that this was truly what this situation had been.
Rather than draw closer to the woman, Thaddeus would prepare for the possibility of a fight breaking out. He had to be safe, right? No... No that would have been disgraceful. If this woman were truly someone in need of assistance than he couldn't allow for his fear to overtake him. "I..." Unsure of what to do here, Thaddeus would remain quiet for the moment and would simply follow whatever steps Klara had decided upon.

"I don't know... She doesn't look dangerous. Plus if she was dangerous, then it's better for me to be closer anyway." With that said, Maria walked over to the girl with the sign. She did notice how the person did not speak but she did not bother to start reading till she was right in front of her. "Mmm... Hello, my name is... Airel, I am mute-" It was at this point that Maria stopped, "Wait... like you don't talk? That's weird, but if your strong. Then I don't care. Are you strong Ms. Airel?" Maria locked eyes while holding up her hand for a hand shake. If the girl would accept the shake Maria would grip firmly as if shaking hands with a Wealthy Business man. Not hard enough to hurt but enough to show off her own confidence.
Should the girl not pull away, Maira would release and giggle. "A good strong handshake is a sign of trust. I can't promise your safety on this, but I don't mind more people. Lets go Thaddeus! I'm bored!" Her tone became playful towards the end as she reverted to her typical innocent personality that she showed around strangers. With a new person around, she did not want to appear weak so she would be extra sure to keep up her part now.
Still... she did not forget the injury she recently gotten. She had to be sure that definitely didn't happen again.
Aelia looked between the two for a moment they seemed to be night and day, the male seemed almost hostile while the smaller woman seemed to be more willing to engage in talking to her. She looked to the make as he seemed to start talking but stopped after the first syllable, it was clear he wanted to say something but had either forgotten what it was or didn't exactly know what to say considering her instantly thought her an enemy. She had to wonder if he believed everyone was and so acted that way or if it had been because he was afraid she may be the person they had been looking for and so was ready to attack them. If it was the former then she could understand that this was just the way he was, however, if it was the latter then they wouldn't see her coming and at least one of them would either be badly injured or dead.
She turned her attention once more to the woman as she spoke and touched her throat while covering her mouth and shaking her head showing she couldn't talk. She even removed both hands away to say a few things about her appearance but she made sure that not a sound was made to show she was indeed a mute; or at least to them she would be. Hearing Maria's question she could only shrug as she had no idea if she was strong, she had always been told by her brother that she was weak and that without him and their father she would never survive. Yet, she had survived not only the abuse of her home but being on her own in a world and life she honestly didn't understand. If nothing else she was resilient.
Seeing her hold out her hand for a handshake she took two steps backwards, Aeila didn't like physical touch due to her past outside of her wraiths and Jin she refused any sort of touch unless it was within combat where it couldn't be avoided. She smiled and waved politely instead before nodding showing she understood the risk and was still willing to continue. She listened to how the other would talk to the male and just followed behind them, it wasn't as if she could really interact with them after all.

Still unsure if he could really trust this newcomer, Thaddeus would bring a hand up to the bridge of his nose and begin to massage the carbon that had been covering it. While he was sure that the two of them could overcome this girl if it had truly come down to it, Thaddeus didn't wish to take the risk of harming someone that might have been an ally. That having been the case, after shaking his head from side to side a few times, he would simply continue on as if nothing had happened. "Right.. Well I think that it would be for the best if we were to start off by searching for these flowers. The twilight foxglove, the devil's helmet, and the umbrella hemlock. I have already detailed what it is that they look like so hopefully we can wrap this whole affair up in no time. Or at least before the Witches catch wind of us being out here. Even if the borders are open to the citizens of the Clover Kingdom, outside of the Capital City, I am certain that they won't be too happy if they spot me here. Despite the fact that I am clad in carbon, I am still a male after all."
Knowing that it would probably be best for them to stick together, Thaddeus would do his best to remain within a distance of Klara. Whilst he had truly believed that they should be within a closer proximity of one another, he had opted to give her what it was that she was asking for.. Some space. All that was really left to do now was to try and track down these flowers. If only he had managed to develop a golem that could cover a vast amount of ground. Perhaps.. this is something that he might give a try in the future. Moles that could tear through the stone without any issue. Time will ultimately tell.
