There was six days, six days left before the exam, the magic knight exam, she knew Klara was going to be there and after fighting with each other a few times the idea that she was not as strong as she could be was reinforced in her mind and it irked her greatly, at first perhaps jealousy towards Klara being stronger but now, her jealousy has turned her towards using the last few days before her exam wisely, she was going to be training all the way up until the last day, she was going to show the world what she had to offer the magic knights or go down trying.
Always one to keep of with rations and basic supplies Amelia began a four and half day journey. Amelia preferring forests she made her way there first, entering the forest from the northeast side as she then speed through the wild lands, her speed increasing to 7 m'/s as she spotted a tree that had been cut and was leaning against another tree branch, the tree growth in the forsaken region more wild allowing it to support Amelia body weight as she ran up the damaged one and began to leap from tree to tree, and then leapt back onto the ground into a small clearing.
Rising up from her leap position Amelia sniffed the air, she had rations sure but if she could find something to eat that would be great, the forest provided, she could be somethings dinner or it could be her dinner, at the end it was who had the strength and will to best the other, that kind of hard truth to the wild was appealing to Amelia. sniffing the air she couldn't identify the scent but something definitely had been there not too long ago, the scent still potent in the air Amelia though to herself, her eyes narrowing as she tried to sniff the air and get a scent trail of sorts like an animal would but in the end all she could really do is shift her eyes all around her.
Scrcch... Amelia heard it the crunch of grass, her ears twitched but she chose not to move a muscle, instead focusing on the sound so she could try and see which way the attack was going to come from and it was definitely going to come, she could feel slight malice in the air, it was a strange feeling, but it was like death coming to take you away forever, just the most horrid feeling.
The first thing Amelia noticed was the slight hissing undertone it had, it was some time of lizard beast? Amelia decided not to wait and made a immediate dive forward as the creature rose above her and tried to lunge at her backside. Rolling forward Amelia put her hands on the ground and used the momentum to push off of it, hips spinning as she landed back on her feet facing the creature as she then put her hands back onto the ground sliding back a few inches. her grimoire open as rose thorns began making their way through the ground, the vines twisting and entangling around each other suddenly stopping and then boom, and explosion of rose thorns rising up above the creature slashing it's entire body as it lifted up the creature impaling it's body on the sharp sides of the rose thorns. "I suppose snake for dinner will have to do."
Since she wasn't deep into the forest yet Amelia took the time to dissect the snakes parts to the edible meat, removing it's poison sake, and using a vial to extract the skin, she was a hunter by trade so she knew selling the snake oil to some rich old coot or foolish person with the right words she could make a decent bit, the same thing went for the skin, she heard some people even made clothing out of it, she would never as it sounded revolting to her.
Anyway with the pool of blood from the snake all around her Amelia supposed it was time to get a move on before any of the creatures that ate snakes came around and found her for dinner instead, packing up the meat and leaving what she couldn't for the forest to decide Amelia headed deeper into the forest still going towards the northeast. She was heading specifically in that direction because that way there was a small village, she had heard of it before and it seemed bandits regularly plagued the area yet no robberies were ever completed and nobody ever died, why? In that area there was a weapons specialize known as Hamura Shigure. A old mage that worked independently from Magic Knights or the church awhile ago but fell into retirement, the retirement being ending up watching over the small village that was constantly attacked, she wanted to meet this master and learn from her!
Since she hadn't started her journey until mid day the sun was beginning to lower in the sky, continuing her walk Amelia thought it would best to prepare to camp for the night, Amelia gathering wood as she set camp near a large oak tree, gathering thin and large branches Amelia put them all together in a pile, grabbing two rocks nearby Amelia scrapped them forcefully against each other as she made quick flashing motions, the first few attempts nothing until the fourth started generating sparks that hit the branches and wooden sticks, Amelia continuing to do it to light it up even more eventually stopping as her fire was created. Sitting next to the fire Amelia grabbed the chunks of snake meat, piercing one wooden stick into it as she then put it over the fire but above it just high enough to not burn it but still cook it.
Looking into the fire as her meat cooked Amelia also was listening to the sounds of the woods around her, the gentle hum of insects was soothing as her meat was ready, blowing on it several times to cool it down before taking the first bite. Using her free hand Amelia reached into her bag dragging out the map for the area of the forsaken region, looking at the map Amelia mapped out where she was compared to where she started and calculated that she would be in the village by the time the sun rose even if she slept for five or six hours. Finishing her meal Amelia packed it in for the night so she could make the rest of the journey in the early morning.
