For the Azure Deer, since the Shatter, things seemed to be different. People didn't notice that something was missing. The base was better than ever. Most of the mages got along. There was no captain Wren this time to run things like a dictator. There was no competition for the best and easiest missions to live off of the easy street. There was no clamor for accolades and backstabbing for the sake of self-promotion! Why was it then, that, no matter how much everyone attempted to deny it, that there was something that was amiss?
People were not fully aware of what happened. The general public was clueless, magic knights struggled with what they thought were dreams, others claimed to have vivid memories. One man would shout about how he and another were once sworn enemies, but, they now shared memories of being the best of friends. People argued now who were once close, even though they could not recall any memory of why they fought?
Shattered. Memories were broken, memories were put back together. But even with things made sense of because of an inexplicable event, even for the great detectives of the Azure Deer, there were still missing pieces. Missing people. New people to account for. it was a splitting headache and a half to grapple with the thought of.
And that is where the story pans over to New Haven. A town that leaned itself toward being a part of Clover for so long, for a generation now. A long since established place to raise a family. A place to congregate and experience the culture of a swallowed nation. But, was that the truth? For this timeline, yes, but, was it?
It was something well worth investigating for the intrepid Azure Deer. A mission granted to two wayward bucks of the herd, granted to them by the big Stag, their captain! Yes, there will be many more cervine puns coming.
New Haven was a town befitting its name. A city, unlike any other, plucked away from a foreign culture and grown from the ground up. A thicket of impossibly tall trees, people living up within the canopy and branches, away from the ground. The foliage covering them, allowing them to enjoy their festivals to the Nth degree. However, they have been trying to come out and experience more of the Clover Kingdom, the current village chief, Jakobi Jevel Hensepyth having sent out word to the various magic knight squads, looking to make a connection, with the hope of getting his people to integrate better into the country that has hosted them for so long.
The Sun was shining very bright outside as the trio of Azure Deer made their way through the Clover Sky. Clouds were quickly passing by overhead with the wind pressing against their faces. Naxel wasn’t really sure how fast they were going, but knew it was a decent speed by how the wind felt. Today they had decided to take a trip over to an area that Naxel was once told about. Before the disappearing of Captain WIllow the two that were with willow that day mentioned a place called New Heaven. It was said that this was a place where the people of Willow Omens had all migrated to whenever they discovered this Kingdom. Before then Naxel had never heard of this place before. To him it was still a mystery as to what might actually be out here waiting on them. One thing was that he hoped that the Captain had just came out here without letting anyone know. Hopefully that he is here, and not lost somewhere in the world where no one can find him. That was one of the biggest fears that was going through his mind. The loss of his most looked up to Role model being held captive against his will. But Naxel quickly shook of that though to look over at the two that came along with him today. The first person he looked over at was the guy who ran through that weird house with him not long ago. The other person was someone knew to the squad that hasn’t been apart of the team for that long. Maybe Naxel could us this as a welcome mission for them to do together to welcome him. “Thank you for coming along with me today Kreig. I know you have been wanting to see the Captain for some time. Hopefully we can get some clues in New Heaven on his Whereabouts. Also, I would like to Welcome you to the Squad... Erm... I am sorry, but what was your name again friend?” It was very embarrassing for the Noble to forget the name of the new member. This wasn’t like him to forget someone’s name just like that. He figured that it might be because they were headed to the place with the best shot of finding their lost Captain. Hopefully they would, but for now was time for them to have some conversation while they flew.

Things have become such a drag lately. Many of days has gone by with not even the least bit of excitement. The last time Kreig had done something remotely interesting was during the investigation in the house of Eldrich. Since solving that case and growing a new found distrust for the Coral Peacock he had been itching for something to get into. As fortune would have this was the day that he would be able to feed on the urge that been bothering him so dearly. A vacation was in the plans for him along with his senior Naxel Blake. Not only was Naxel taking Kreig but a new member as well. Though a bit indifferent to the situation young the mage opted to take this situation and try to open up to the people around him.
Thank you for coming along with me today Kreig. I know you have been wanting to see the Captain for some time. Hopefully we can get some clues in New Heaven on his Whereabouts. Also, I would like to Welcome you to the Squad... Erm... I am sorry, but what was your name again friend? Said Naxel as he tries to introduce the the two young mage to one another. Kreig himself was too busy puking over the edge of the chariot. I can't believe Blahh... I let you Blahh... talk me into riding this thiahhhhh... Embarrassed, he was sure the new knight would think low of him for this. Even though he was a full fledged magic knight he would still succumb to the sickness of motion. Oddly it was a condition he has since a child and something that he looks forward to overcoming.
Once the chariot had finally stopped at it's destination the young mage managed to get the time to recuperate. I apologize for the ruff ride mates, but that was a terrible decision of me to ride that thing. Kreig apologized before trying to explain himself. What is it exactly did you have to say about the captain earlier? I was too bothered by this stomach of mine to really take heed of it. Also what are the exact plans that you have for the day? He asked these questions due to the fact that he liked to stay one step ahead of the curve at all times. In this situation he was in the blue and didn't want to mess thing up any further.
Magic Knight... what a triumphant position to be in. Although he was new, Kuro was very confident and determined, although he was not impressed with his cohorts... no matter their rank. For a moment he would gallivant around his memories from one moment to the next moment. His thoughts ranged from the girl from the local eatery last night, to the girl at one of the local shops, and even back to some girls he was dreaming about. The young man was exactly that... and couldn't help but think of the women that he had come across and how they tend to find him attractive as well.
His mind in a daze as he pondered over the local red head with the sweet smile, he thought... maybe if I was just a little older, she probably would give me a chance. After all he was a magic knight and an Azure Deer, one of the greatest squads in his opinion since he joined... to say the least. He started to ponder if he should of let them beg for him to join the squad, then made his decision. Nonetheless he was a part of the squad now and he figured that should be enough for now... even if not, he had his good looks to get him on by.
His imagination ran wild as he pictured the woman saying, My Lord, you truly are a man of many wonders, can you please let me tell you again why I love you so much. Kuro would allow her to say it and in his day dream, she responded:
“Thank you for coming along with me today Kreig." His mind would bring him back to reality, and he heard the remaining lines from the man:
"get some clues in New Heaven on his Whereabouts. Also, I would like to Welcome you to the Squad... Erm... I am sorry, but what was your name again friend?”
Kuro ran his fingers through his hair and leaned his head back a bit and said, "Uhh yeah, right. I won't say it again, the name is Kuro Silva. Got it? Cool." The young man did not know when to be respectful to authority and his lack of formal tongue often got him in trouble. He honestly couldn't remember why he signed up to go with them, or where they were going, or what they were doing. Hell, he didn't even remember to eat today... stomach growls a bit.

When the trio of deer reached the thicket of trees, there were a series of vines dangling down from the branches up high out of sight. All of the ways up within the canopy of branches there resided a town, a town of foreigners, a town of people with red, orange, and pink hair. Many residents here had the build of people that worked more physically rather than with magic alone. People lead strange birds along the ground, shepherding them along. The smell of well-roasted fruits, spiced vegetables, and other sweet aromas lingered in the air. The people here were prosperous and enjoyed their little life, but, magic knights were always a cause for murmurs and hushed tones exchanged between the populace of the town.
It was true, they were investigated by magic knights regularly, but they had no reason to be afraid of them, as their current village chief was trying their hardest to get the people of New Haven to integrate within The Clover Kingdom's infrastructure, the goal being to meld the two cultures and bring a long-lasting peace between his people and the people who have given him a home.
That man was Jakobi Jevel Hensepyth, a man who some from the pre-shatter event would know to be the name of Willow Omens, however, things were not as they seemed!
"Hello, gentlemen! How fare you all today? What brings knights to our humble haven once again? You are not flying the color viridian today, you must not be one of the Mantises." Said a very strong looking man with orange hair, he had scars darted up and down his arms, several over his face, and a very menacing looking staff over his back, it looked to be the size of a small tree trunk, with little slots for fingers to grab on to in specific areas.
"We're happy to host more people, however! We don't have any festivals going on today at all, but we are more than happy to take you in and show you around. As the chief, it's my pleasure to ingratiate the culture of New Haven to those who have not seen it before! Is it the food you're after? Dancing? Music? Perhaps sports? We have our own arena where we play a ball game from our homeland!" The man said while bearing a lovely smile befitting a proud father as if he viewed the entire town as his children.
"Father, you are over-bearing, again." "She's right, you're only going to cause them to feel like they should retreat." "She's right, you need to just let them explore and find their way." "She's right you know, if they got lost and asked around, they'd find their way to you." Two voices chimed in, very similar in effect, they looked to be twins, though one wore red and black, one wore green and black, and one had a slightly bigger chest than the other.
The chief just turned around and roughly put his hands on their heads, eyebrow twitching. "Brier, Iris, you two really ought to be trying to find your sister, your older sister. Your oldest sister is still off in the witches' forest. I'm clarifying this to you both so you don't go down one of those tangents again and confuse me and the people!" He said while continuing to bear a grin at them.
"If you mean Willow, she's in the highest part of the canopy, probably drawing." "She really likes to spend most of her time up there." "You'd think she'd be acrophobic not agoraphobic."
While flying through the air Naxel had noticed that Kreig didn’t really respond to him. When he turned his head he watched as his squad member was barfing off the side. It wasn’t really an easy sight to watch. If he would of known that the boy didn’t like flying then they would of took another means of transportation. Though, they were already almost there, so there wasn’t really anything he could do about it at the moment. He would then turn his head back forwards as the new member would give his response. The way he gave his response kind of put a, slight, bad taste in his mouth. It reminds him of when the Noble first met Kreig a few days before. Hopefully this one will learn a little bit quicker on who he is talking too. He might be a noble, but so is the young Blake. Naxel is also a higher ranked Magic Knight then this one as well. Hopefully, if they do find Willow, he wont kill a member in front of his Captain. Either way Naxel would continue to look forwards while he gave his response to the new member of the Azure Deer. “Kuro Silva you say? So a member of the Silva Family has decided to join the Azure Deer Squad.” He spoke with a calm tone to his voice. “Let me give a little bit of advice my new friend. I am one of your superiors within this amazing squad. Pulling rank isn’t my type of tea, but I will not allow for tones like that to be said towards other squad members. Do you understand?” Continuing to speak in his calm voice as he turned his head slightly to look at the Silva. “Plus we are hoping to find our Captain today, and I don’t need him killing new members with not so good tones.” Speaking one last time before he spotted a village close in front of them.
When they reach down to the village they were approached by a man who looked important to the place. Naxel dismounted his chariot, and allowed the others to get off before dispelling it. He would then turn towards the man to listen to everything he had to say. Then, before finish speaking, he was interrupted by two others that seemed to be twins, if he had to guess. It was all a bit confusing, in a way, until the Chief had spoken the name of willow. Naxels eyes would then widen a little as if he had just been crowned the king of the kingdom. “Willow? Willow Omens? Is he here? We have been looking for the man for quite some time now. I have met some of your people before when they came to the Azure Deer Base. They had informed me of this place, and told me this was the place of Captain Willows people. If he is here can you please show us to him?” Speaking in a mix between exited and worried tone. This was the place that Captain Willow had told me about before. If He was to be anywhere within the kingdom it would be here. Hopefully it is, and that he will finally be able to bring his Captain home.

"Wait, wait, wait a minute!" Rambled on the chief, before turning his eyes to Naxel with what looked like confused ire. "The hell do you mean 'HE'? You best explain yourself before I get ornery with you, you soft-bodied mageling in a fancy coat?" The chief said while taking one step forward as if someone was trying to besmirch the name of one of his precious daughters. "I am Jakobi Jevel Hensepyth, and I refuse to hear any sort of insinuation that Willow is nothing but the pretty little flower she is!"
The twins, who looked like the man before the group of Azure Deer, just started to chuckle, "According to plan?" "Of course, all according to plan." They agreed on something before one dipped around behind their father, tapping him on the shoulder so he'd lean over so he could be whispered to. The other twin came forward and gave a little bow. "You must be one of those Shattered, you gotta watch your words, if you want to see our sister, I will take you there." The girl said before running off, looking to lead the Azure deer off into the village further.
Up a hill-like walkway, and past several stands, there was a jutting out portion of a tree, right in the near center of town. A winding staircase around it without any sort of support, the wood planks kept together by a chain-link railing. "SHe's up at the top."
Whoever went up there would meet Willow, the girl with hip-length pink hair, teal eyes looking up at the clouds and various birds kept in the town as they flocked and flitted about. She was so mesmerized by it while a sketchbook sat in her lap, she was doing artwork? And next to her was a mug of coffee, with paintbrushes put in it?
Drawing one of the brushes out of the mug, she stroked it along the sketchbook, doing a watercolor painting with coffee, putting it in to a sepia tone the whole picture over. She was an artist by trade here, a dancer by hobby, and a cartographer and mana beast enthusiast by instinct, why though? It was hard to say.
What naxel would be able to feel just by being in her presence, this was the same person as before but different, there was just some sort of presence in the body of this girl that just screamed that this was indeed Willow Omens.
