Lab Rat-666 found herself wandering the streets of Silva. It was a rich area so, there was nothing to worry about, right?
Wrong, just because an area was nice economically didn't mean there was 0 crime! Now was it? That was false. There were criminals in every which direction of Clover Kingdom- no the globe.
She'd look around and become nervous at her quickening and paradoxical thoughts. She'd quicken her steps anytime she saw a normal-looking Silva citizen. She'd keep towards the lit buildings. She was paranoid but also very stressed in general. The thought of her wandering into the hands of an asshole frightened her to say the least. She had only a few gold on her, a thief would be disappointed to feel her. They'd torture her body instead or murder her in distress. Who would hear her screams? Everyone had gone to sleep as it was very late. Only insane people dared to roam the streets again this late. So, she'd knew where to walk: towards the Silver Eagle Base. No, she had no reason to go in there and report an issue- yet. She had nowhere to stay that evening.
She was in this part of Silva on a cleaning job. She lived on the outskirts with a roommate and two. Too far to travel at night on foot back home and besides, it was in the forest. Her roommates seldom left their home at night knowing there could be rogues peering at them between the shrubs.
Why was she stuck outside?
She ended up staying and working for the man expecting a bunch of gold. He was ..... not the least kind in the slightest, in fact, he was awful. He let a very slim and feeble girl work in his yard and get sunburnt on her neck only to pay her very little. He LIED on the flier. Yet, Rat never argued. She couldn't. She didn't have it in her to fight him verbally back. She was exhausted and mentally weak. Yet, was still frustrated on the inside. Most of us would be. She had nowhere to sleep and was scared to head home because of bandits. Then again, she'd be rob outside too in this city. What were she to do? She was familiar with the layout considering she came to shop.
Although, to be honest, she never quite liked coming here. Rat's biological 'family' lived here. The fact of her even landing eyes on a relative she met not that long ago would give her an anxiety attack. The thought of her thinking of them made the small amount of hair on her one arm raise. It made her chilly despite the warm night that she was exposed too. If she saw one of them she'd freak out if anything. If she was never adopted or been abandoned in the first place she'd be whole.
Mentally and physically. It was a fact though. If one knew of her past they'd not disagree wth this fact.
She wasn't too sure what she was doing at this point. No, there it was. Silver Eagles base. She could sleep out here on the ground and if someone were to attempt to assault her she'd just scream and be rescued even though they were asleep at this point. Well, most members. It was a delusional and slim chance thought, but maybe someone would even think she worked for them despite having one arm. Or perhaps they'd let her sleep outside and thought she was homeless or something. She wasn't quite too sure.
But maybe sticking in the area was a good idea.
She sat on a bench several meters away and laid horizontally. With a loud yawn, the woman rest her head on her single hand and felt herself fall asleep. She hadn't complained about this situation verbally or mentally, yet, she was just frustrated after all. She was ok with it. Just scared. Just worried and anxious for her wellbeing. She had slept in worse situations after all- a basement and a cage. Just like a lab rat would.
Rat would find herself drifting to sleep. She never got that far to stage 4 in her sleep cycle before hearing someone walk by her bench. She felt their presence and heard footsteps causing her to awaken. And with that she flinched and felt herself fall straight onto her face, "Ow..." she'd moan as she stood. Her purse? Laid on top of the bench and was underneath her body as she rested. There was nothing in there. She'd sigh and as she looked around the man was in the distance back turned and hadn't even noticed she woke up.
Well, there was her complaint!
In the distance though, she saw light. A very bright light. So, Rat followed. It was an inn with a pub. W-What? She had no money though. But she had enough for something to drink, she only had breakfast. Rat decided to use the little yul in her purse to eat. So, the woman would slide in after the man and hear a light bell ring. For some reason, there was no one inside. Rat wasn't stalking or following but she did want some company. Even if he were a stranger and he wouldn't say anything to her.
Rat would swivel on the stool next to the man clearly in her own world for a moment as she turned childishly on the seat. Her hair whipped around as she tried to find some sort of amusement. A bartender would come and greet the two. He knew they weren't together based on how separate they both entered and Rat simply showed him no attention. She simply enjoyed his presence in the perimeters of her own.
"Hello sir." she'd say, "I'd just like some water and uh...... several yeast rolls." she'd state as if deciding.
"That's all?" the waiter put down his ink pen and yellow paper. What was the point of even writing that down?
"I guess." she'd say and tap her lean fingers on her chin.
"You sure?"
"Yes," and after he turned his back she'd use her manners, "And thanks! I"m sorry!" she'd quickly stammered out. Impoliteness doesn't take you anywhere.
"It's fine. It'll be out soon." the waiter would quickly return with a glass of water and attempt to take the man's order next. Ladies first!
The loudest and most exclamatory remark she made the entire day had been heard.

It was a nice and smooth day within the Town of Silva, but also in the base of the Silver eagle. There had been a lot of jobs that had come their way, but there were enough wizards that Yuurei didn’t have to go out on his own to take care of them. That was good, and he was glad about that as he was stuck inside taking care of the paperwork. He knew that Kouhei was coming home soon, but he wasn’t sure when Sekai would return. She was handling internal affairs for him and while she kept him posted with the stuff, she never told him when she would come back. He was glad that she had gotten stronger within the short time that she had become a wizard. There wasn’t a problem with anything that was happening anywhere and when nightfall came, he decided to do something he did every chance he could.
Yuurei would take himself outside of the base and make his way to the roof of the base. There he would lay down on the flattest surface that he could find and he would look up to the sky. His eyes locked into the moon that was shining down on the darkness that spread throughout the area surrounding him. It was a beauty and the breeze that came from the wind brought Yuurei to enjoy the cool weather.
“Man I remember I used to do this every time I had the chance, but becoming the Captain of the squad has stopped me.” He said to himself as he continued to look upward.
Of course, it wouldn’t take the young man a long time to recognize that someone had gotten close to the base. He would move his body so that it was sitting up, and he would see that a woman would walk towards a bench near the base and would proceed to lay down. It caused Yuurei to rub his chin as he wondered what this woman was planning on doing. It wouldn’t take long, but it seemed like she would go take a nap, and he would sigh.
“She’s probably drunk out of her mind? That or she might need help? I guess I can go see if she needs help.” He would say this as he got up and on his feet.
Yuurei would look up to the moon for a few more minutes admiring her beauty for a bit longer before jumping down from the roof and onto the ground. While he got near the sleeping woman on the bench, he would notice how rude it would and how it might look if he got too close to her.
Damn I want to help her, but I don’t want to get in trouble for even getting close to her. He thought to himself as he decided to walk away from her. When he did that he would hear a large thud coming from behind him, and he figured that he woke her up, but kept moving as he decided to get a drink to make himself relaxed.
It wouldn’t take long, but he would notice that the girl was following him, and he started wondering if he was the one who was in trouble. Yuurei kept moving as he would enter the pub and took a seat and soon enough he would notice that the mysterious woman that he left alone had followed him into the pub and sat right next to him. He would look at her for a quick moment and he would notice that she was indeed missing an arm as he turned to face the bartender.
The bartender knew who he was, but didn’t say anything until he took care of the woman. When it was his turn he would look at him with a smile on his face.
“Glad to see you are doing well Henry. Can I get a whiskey on ice please?” He asked him with a smile on his face.
“Sure thing Yuurei, I will be coming with your drink in a bit.” He said to the captain.
Yuurei would nod when he heard this as he would turn to look at the woman and he could see how fairly pale she was, which allowed him to see the burn marks that were on certain parts of her skin. The noble figured he would make conversation there and see where it would go from there.
“So, how did you get the burn marks on your skin?” He asked her as he pointed in certain areas.
He knew they were burned marks that came from being outside for too long, but he was curious to listen to her story. Soon enough Henry would appear with Yuurei’s drink and he would grab ahold of it and take a sip of it as he sighed with relief from drinking it.
The woman's gaze shifted from the bartender to the man sitting next to her. Again, she hadn't expected him to say anything to her. All she simply wanted was another breathing individual next to her as she sobbed mentally to herself. But who would've known with such a random introduction as that? She wasn't sure how to respond to her neck and back area. It was strange to ask where someone got such injuries from, but she was used to it. She had been asked straight up by strangers where was her arm and/or eye.
And she never knew how to respond.
Often times, she just said she was born like that. Rat didn't like to lie but that was such a strange question to ask. When he pointed at her she figured he was talking about her missing limb. Only to see he meant her to burn marks.
"I- I was born like that?" she'd stammered clearly disturbed by the question. The pale woman didn't know how to respond. No, he meant the burn marks. Just like as he said before.
Rat was dumb.
"No. I-I am sorry!" she'd squeal, "Forgive me." she needed someone to rant to. Someone to listen to her story.
So, she did.
Rat would begin, "I live around these parts on the outskirts, but today I went to help an older man to do housework. He had a posting for a maid to help him and had a set amount of gold listed. After I finished, he hardly gave me anything. I just used up all the yul that he gave me this evening- on food. My place is too far to travel this evening. So I was thinking of just eating and sleeping outside of the Magic Squad base," she'd explain,"It's weird I know but I just think it's best to do such a thing in times like this. I'm worried about being harmed so, I'll probably sleep out there tonight." Rat would shrug and look down, "I'm sorry I lied to you. My burn marks aren't because of my birth, they are simply because I was lied to."
Rat's eyes began to water from being betrayed by the old man and the thoughts of why. Had she not done a good enough job? Maybe she just wasn't good enough. No, she couldn't cry here. And yet, she began to in front of the anonymous man. Did the opposite as to what she wanted. She would hold her head in hands, "I. I don't know what I'm going to do tonight sir. You tell me. What do you think I should do? Stay here or go home? It's miles away and the carriages aren't available at this time of day." As she made out her words between sniffles, "I am sorry for burdening you with such sad words, sir."
Rat lifted her head up and one eye would have tears falling from it. Her other was a flower and could not do any such thing.

Yuurei heard her words and it confused him. The burns marks on her body were recent and he was for sure she wasn’t born that way. It might have been that she thought he was asking about her arm, but he didn’t take offense to it. She would apologize to him quickly, but he wasn’t sure for what. He would just blink a few times loss for words as she would speak to him. He would hear her explanation as he would shake his head up and down as he was showing her that he was listening to her. When she finally speaking to him he could see her crying as only tears were coming down from one eye. This allowed him to realized that she wasn’t just missing an arm, but also an eye. This only made his concern on what happened to her in the past.
He would look over to his drink once again and he would take another sip of it before he would turn to look over to the woman.
“What kind of asshole lies about the reward money? I out to go there myself and kick his ass.” He paused for a second as he kept his eyes on her.
“I’m sorry that you had to go through something like that around these parts of the kingdom.” He said as he was disappointed about the actions of a random person hurting a woman.
He figured that he had gotten her burn marks from being outside too long. He would just relax as he was trying to calm down. It would seem like her tears did bother him, but it was because of the fact that It was a noble who did this. He knew a lot of them were like that, but it was a job, and it should have been paid. When he heard her asking for his thoughts on the matter of her sleeping out on the street, Yuurei looked at his whiskey for a bit as he wondering how he should answer. He didn’t plan on telling her to sleep outside, so he started thinking about options.
It wouldn’t take him long and he didn’t want to keep her waiting.
“Well I don’t think anybody should sleep outside, especially when there could be something bad that can happen.” He paused for a second.
“When I saw you outside sleeping there, I was confused for a bit and figured that you were drunk and trying to sober up. I think you should find somewhere safe tonight and then go home in the morning. I would say we find you a place to sleep when the time comes.” He said with a smile on his face.
He would drink a bit of his whiskey and he would put it down as he figured he would introduce himself to her.
“The name is Yuurei Krane, by the way. What’s your name?” He would ask her but before he would let her answer, he would ask her something else.
“Were you really born like that, or did someone do something they shouldn’t have to you?” He asked wondering what she would say to him.

Rat would wipe her tears, "No. No. We shouldn't hurt the old man! He's old and might have some issues. We should be kind to the old man!" and shake her head 'no'. She looked up at Yuurei and made eye contact, "It's ok. I'm just frustrated I can't sleep. I'll figure something out. I forgive him. And you should too," she'd give a firm 'yes' nod to Yuurei, "Don't worry. We'll be ok."
Rat deep down would lash out the man if she ever saw him again, but couldn't find it in her heart to think and act on such a thing. Seeing how this man had the Silver Eagle mantle, she knew he could've helped her. He could've gotten him in trouble or charged for scamming. But she reassured him it'd be ok. Perhaps, it'd help from the future being scammed, but she didn't care about that. Rat just did not want to be involved with the old fraud any longer.
Then he told her not to ][sleep outside. That was for homeless people after all. And homeless existed very little in the noble region, it was dangerous.
"Oh was that you who woke me up then?" she'd ask. Probably so, maybe he didn't know. Especially if he had his back turned towards her in the dark. Rat didn't expect him to answer that, but if he did she'd give a force laugh trying to make herself stop crying.
"Yuurei Krane!" she'd chime, "That's a nice name! So how high up are you in the Silver Eagles? Recruit or..." she'd say, "My name is Lab Rat - 666. I know it's a bit weird but I hate my birth name. My noble family- Armstrong disowned me. I lost my eye to an infection and condition at the age of 3. So, to keep it from spreading to my head they took it out. I'm not sure if you've ever heard of the Armstrongs."
But then, he asked the question. Another question. It was fine he asked it, but it upset her. She got visions thinking about it. It upset her. Not his fault. As Captain of Silver Eagles, he was doing his job to make sure everyone was ok.
So, she explained all while holding in weeps of tears.
"I've been living and roaming for 3 years now. I don't know what to do with my life. I wish I could've been a teacher. I used to teach my little siblings in the basement. I like children. I was their mother or big sister. Yet, I could do nothing for them. All of the ones I loved the most are gone. The children. And now I'm on my own. I have no one but my roommates. And they never speak to me. We just clean and eat!" she started off with. So random, but she shook her head no. No, that's not how to explain it!
"Look, I guess you should know. Have you ever read the paper? A long time ago, I was named Taliyah. I don't like the name anywho. I go by Rat. But, I went to an orphanage at the age of 3. And I think, I was 7, no 8, yes 6! And I was adopted by my Dad. He would touch me and did things he wasn't supposed to do! He practiced magic on me! He hurt me! I was a lab rat," and with that she spazzed out to an episode.
"My dad, I should've never betrayed my dad! I'm so sorry Dad! Please, no don't do this. Let me keep it!" she'd scream and cover her face again. Her arm was twitching wildly. She was having some weird episodes or flashbacks.
"No...no. I'm going to be ok. I know I'm going to be ok. I will always be ok. Yes, just that. I will be ok!" she'd begin talking to herself. She knew now that she was around Yuurei now. So, she'd wipe her tears up and take a deep breath. Her chest went up and down a single time. And then, she was done. She was done sobbing for the evening. Then would proceed to speak normally, "My dad removed my left arm the day I got my grimoire. I wanted out, but I wanted to be whole to. He made it so much worse. The Knights thought I was going to die! And yet, I didn't. I survived. I don't know what happened to my dad. I never read the story. Have you? Do you remember what happened? And I can't read the news anymore. It scares me. I read it once and never again, only for the jobs. I can only be whole almost via transformation magic. I taught myself, but that's it."
"I, call myself Rat because I was just an experiment. My father, Experimenter Dad hurt me. That was his name for me. I wouldn't' be here if it wasn't for it. This is just my future. My new life. I don't know where I am going and what I'm doing. But I'm going to figure it out, Yuurei Krane. My name gives me comfort because it reminds me of who I am yet, somehow gives me confidence. It's weird. But thinking of being a Rat is what I truly am. A Rat. No one knows my first name but my family and a select few. Don't call me by it, because I am Rat."
And that was her story. That was her life. She could've gone on more about her life in the basement but she didn't want to. It'd trigger her only more. Sometimes she wondered if her dad was in prison or executed. She was Rat because that was her name given to her. Something that truly described her. Only reason why she kept it,"People don't get me. But someday they will."

Yuurei heard her plead to make sure that nothing bad happened to the man that employed her. He would look at her as it seemed like she had tried her best in life not to cause trouble. He would sigh as he would answer her request and not act on it, so that way she didn’t cry anymore, or catch some type of anxiety attack. He had smiled at her when she asked him about his ranking within the Silver Eagle, but he didn’t blurt it out just yet. Instead, he would listen to her as she introduced herself. The name she gave him was that of an experiment name from what he could gather. He kept his opinion to himself for the moment as she told him what happened to her eye.
He didn’t know about her family name, as well, but that was because before he joined the nights his family was secluded from the rest of clover. The only known nobles to him were the higher nobles and that was it. Still, it seemed like she did have an original name, which he found out about, but she chose not to go by it. The next story she would tell him would have him focus as he would take sips of his whiskey as he was hearing a bunch of horrible things that had been done to her. His eyes cringed as he didn’t enjoy the fact that someone was torturing someone most of their lives especially a girl for that matter.
He kept himself calm to the best of his ability as he didn’t want to startle her or get her upset. The last thing he needed to dow as have her cry after she had stopped. Still, it seemed like she wanted to find her own path, and he would smile at her as he was glad that she didn’t lose hope on herself.
“For now I shall call you Rat, but maybe in the future, you will decide to give yourself a new name, and live a better life.” He said this as a way to encourage her to strive forward.
“You can call me Yuurei, Yuurei Krane feels too formal for me.” He laughed when he said that as he wasn’t trying to make her nervous.
“I’m the captain of the Silver Eagles actually, so I think I’m at the top of the food chain.” He would look at her remembering everything she had said.
“I don’t know about the Armstrong family, and I didn’t know such an event had happened when you were younger. I’m only around eighteen, so I haven’t been a Magic Knight for that long. Still, I’m glad you are free to do what you want to do and I hope you do find something you enjoy doing. Maybe you could teach again one day, that would be nice if I say so myself.” He said with a smile on his face.
He now knew how she had come to losing her arm, but he was glad that it didn’t stop her from striving forward. Yuurei was also intrigued by her magic now that he remembered that she had used to transformation magic to create the one she lost.
“If I may ask what kind of magic do you use. I use wind magic, it keeps me warm and cools me down when I need it to do so.” He said to her with a smile on his face as he shared a little bit about his magic and he would share more if she asked.

Rat's self-image was definitely distorted. That was what happened to children who lived a life filled with pain. The woman would always remember the pain til' the day she died but tried to move on.
In her mind, she still felt this need to cling onto her old name rather than change to a new one. Regardless if it was given to her by her 'dad'.
"Yuurei Krane? What a beautiful name! I like birds!" she'd chime not understanding the spelling of the name." "Yuurei it is then." she'd agree with his name and find it perfect for a man such as him. She didn't know the origin or language but he looked like a Yuurei.
He would then state he had not heard of her bloodline. Maybe it was best if he didn't know about her noble family. Despite, not being high nobles they were definitely snobbish. He had not heard about the crime incident either, though, it was definitely something that had occurred in the past she hadn't expected him to know. It was a quick and tragic news story that went over the event, trial, and charges. She never read anything about the trial or charges, she never went to court to give her story.
She couldn't. She was very unstable then. Her siblings went and spoke for her. When they tried to tell her the result she refused. It only brought up bad memories. But, now she was kind of curious if he were in prison or had been hung for murder and abuse of so many children. Probably the latter, due to the time period. Punishments were brutal.
"Teaching is nice. But unfortunately, I only know basics and therefore is no expert to teach. Maybe I'll have a kid someday and I can teach that way." she tried to shift it around to be logical and real yet, hopeful as well.
He'd then ask about her magic, "It's a bit weird, but my element is tar. I'm always learning new things. I enjoy learning self-defense and combat only because it helps me take out frustrations and anger out on dummies and objects rather than others. It's meditative for me. I don't believe in using magic for bad things. Only good. I don't really believe in murdering another person, only if the situation calls for it and that is the only answer. I'm a bit of a spiritual monk." she'd explain, "I like fighting but only in reason and if it calls for it. Hahaha."
She decided she'd show him how she replaced her limb, "I'm not going to summon any tar here. I can replace my arm here too using tar, but I don't want it to drip and heat up the floor and harden it. Tar is destructive. It's like fire but it clings and slowly kills people rather than fire. Animals find themselves in tar and oil all the time. I find it very sad to have it happen." she'd say, "I once found a wild bird in some tar and saved it. It's a weird feeling. Helping people not die from your element. I kept it for a few days and used some of my medicine on it. It healed and I let it fly away. It was too scared of me to keep it, unfortunately," she'd tell a short story not feeling a bit talkative, "It wasn't a crane," she'd smirk, "Do you like birds Yuurei?"
And now to activate her spell. In a few seconds out came a new arm and filled her dress sleeve more appropriately. She looked better. Not only that the hand and arm was perfectly symmetrical to the other, "It takes some work to make transformation objects look good but I've done this limb so many times I've learned how to do it effectively." she'd place both hands together almost as if she were to bow, "See perfect to the other."
She'd then notice his hands, "Your hands are bigger than mine Yuurei! Like, super big!"
When held in captivity she was the one who was in charge of the others. She had been the longest surviving child of Experimenter Dad. She was the one who had to guide the others. She had no parent. She learned to slowly mature on her own. And because of the lack of guidance for her, she was definitely somewhat childish for an 18 year. If, an 18-year-old could be mature enough in the first place. Well, Rat was mature for her age but she did have silly moments as of now.
After comparing, Yuurei's hand size to her own she pressed her hand against his, using one wrist to place it against hers. She wasn't flirtatious she was joking around after all. Besides, Rat was too young and unstable to be thinking about relationships. She was just glad to get a new friend.

Yuurei would smile at her when she complimented his name. it wouldn’t take long about hearing her say about having a kid of her own in the future to teach them everything she knew. He would blush a bit, as he didn’t notice before, but he noticed now. When she said that he would look over to her and see that she was indeed a beautiful woman. It made him a bit angry to know that she had been mistreated her entire life. He would bite into his lip as he calmed himself down as she continued to speak. He would let go of his lip and he would smile again as she had told him about her way of fighting. That was actually nice to hear from her, and it made him like her even more. She was someone who used her magic for good and the fact that she used tar magic was interesting.
She would explain her elements a bit more before telling him a nice little story. The noble enjoyed it and it was nice to hear her deed. When she asked him if he liked birds, he thought about it for a second, and would only nod up and down before answering her.
“Yes, actually I do like birds. They are quite calming to listen to when they chirp and it’s enjoyable to see how free they are.” He said to her.
It wouldn’t be long until he could see her create a new arm in place of where her old arm use to be. His eyes sparkling to see how cool it was to see another element in action. When he heard her comment about his hand, he would move it towards her and he would spread his fingers apart as he examined his own hand now.
“You’re right my hands are pretty big. I never truly paid attention to it before, but they are much bigger than yours.” He would say this chuckling to this.
It was then he would feel her hand is pressed against his and he would just look at the comparison between the two of them.
“Your hand is tiny compare to mine.” He said this and it was at this point, Henry came back with Rat’s food.
He would look at Yuurei and nod as he would place her food down on the counter.
“If you can give her more food then this that would be nice Henry. Also, get her something to drink her choice.” He said as he knew that she ordered stuff already, but she didn’t have enough with her so he figured he would treat her.
Henry would nod as he heard Yuurei as he looked at her wondering if there was something else she wanted.
“I think it’s amazing to use your magic the way you use it. I can also use transformation magic, but I use it and mix it up with my defense magic.” He said this to her.
“I’m sure you will find someone to teach and if having a kid is something you want in the future I’m sure you will find someone. You’re beautiful, so don’t you worry about it.” He said as he rubbed the back of his head with his free hand.

"Oh? More food? That's not needed," Rat would try to reflect Yuurei's good deed away,"It's ok Yuurei!" she'd say with a smile. He was being kind to her, he probably considered her weak or something. It'd be ok though, again, she was glad to gain a new friend.
Then she looked at the bread in front of her. It was only 4 pieces of yeast rolls smeared in a bunch of butter after all. Would that be enough?
Probably not.
"I'll take some soup to go with this bread I suppose. Whatever is your special of the day, sir," Rat would answer. She'd eat whatever given regardless, but refused to spend up too much of Yuurei's money. Besides, soup was inexpensive and would go with the bread perfectly.
"And your drink, ma'am?" the older gentleman would ask her.
"Uh....." Rat was trying to think. What would be good other than water? She'd look at a tarnish yellow piece of paper that had very well printed inked letters on it. She'd study it for a good moment, "Lemonade. Just a small glass of lemon water and sugar. Yes," she'd declare and would set the paper down. Tempted to ask for hot tea, but it was rather too warm for it despite it being late at night.
After she saw the man take mental note of this, he'd give a nod, and would walk away to fulfill the request.
Rat would turn back to Yuurei.
"Thank you for your compliment. I don't think I was ever that beautiful. But it is very kind of you to insist on such a statement on my appearance. I don't think men want to deal with health issues. The medicine I put on my eye can be a bit costly due, to not so many people missing their eyes. It makes sure the wound doesn't get infected again and spread. You know? But people don't like dealing with women who can hold them down. I can't blame them. I'm as pure as I can be. I never had much exposure to men, you might be the first male friend that I've had in a while. I always had little brothers, but I saw them as siblings growing up with them. It's weird to sit down next to men in public and have a drink with them. This is very new to me."
"I'm not offended you asked so bluntly about my disabilities. I'm used to it. But I generally don't tell others the truth.I told you the truth because, I think you genuinely care deep down. Is this apart of your nature though, Yuurei? Or are you also nosy. Did you ask because you thought I was in the current need? Like this was recent and you thought you could help me?" she'd sincerely ask.

Yuurei would listen to her and he wondered if she was serious about not needing more food. He would smile back at her as he wasn’t sure if she would be full with just that meal. Still, if she didn’t want it then he wasn’t going to force her. Of course, before he could say anything it would seem like she would ask for soup, and he would chuckle as it seemed like her stomach had disagreed with her. He would continue to drink his whiskey as he would see Henry go get her what she wanted. He would listen to her words and he would give her a nice smile. That was nice to hear, but it also meant he couldn’t flirt with her like he would, since he didn’t want to take advantage of her, nor did he need her to freak out on him if he did something she wasn’t comfortable with.
His whiskey would be placed on the counter as he would sigh as he enjoyed the taste of this drink.
“I’m honored to be your first Rat. But I might taint you if you stay near me for too long.” He chuckled as he wasn’t sure if she understood him, but he kept it as vague as he could.
“If you don’t want to hold anybody down, or feel that way, then you should definitely become a Magic Knight.” He paused as he would look at his drink.
“By becoming a knight you would be able to secure your own future, and you wouldn’t need anybody to help you out, and you will always have a home to come back to.” He said as he moved on to the next thing she had said.
“That’s nice to hear that you could tell me. As for my nature, I guess people feel at ease around me. I’m a happy person and I’m also willing to help. It is easy for people to talk to me with how I’ve seen it since I’ve come down from the mountains and into the kingdom.” He chuckled as he thought about what she said.
“If what happened to you was recent, then I would definitely ask if you needed my help. I always help those who are in need of help. I help everybody in the kingdom that cannot do it themselves. My cousin used to say I was too nice, but recently he said that I’m not as nice as I used to be, but I don’t see it.” He said as he looked up to the ceiling for a second before his head would move down towards Rat.
“Still, I have decided where you shall be staying for the night. Since I will not be letting you stay outside for the night.” He laughed as he was hoping she was okay with that kind of decision.

"Taint?" she'd ask curiously, "What do you mean by that?" and now here she was the one spitting out questions. Enough of sharing tragic stories of some sort of kind. She was curious about this man as much as he was about herself. He knew that meant mess her up mentally. Right? Like, to make her something else. Shift her around some sort of way by evil means, "Make me bad? I thought you were a Magic Knight!"
"A Magic Knight?" she'd ask and tilt her head, "I don't know if I'd be a good one. You know? I need some sort of career other than doing odd jobs." she'd explain, "Yet, I'm unsure if I really am strong enough to ever combat other mages. Protect people! I don't think I could ever do such a thing. I'm missing an arm and an eye. That's impossible."
The concept of being a Magic Knight saddened her. She could never accomplish such a feat. That'd be super difficult. She'd be delivered her soup and began to eat that with the bread. It was a simple concoction, something she could've made, but better. Yet, she ate, as she had little to nothing stuffed inside her on this fine day, "What makes you think I could be one? I'm crippled."
But he was right. If everyone was as friendly as Yuurei, she could most certainly live with them. Besides, her roommates could be 'off' with her occasionally.
"Uh... Where do you want me to stay?" Rat would ask, "A hotel? Somewhere nearby?" she'd ask innocently. The woman was unsure what he meant by his offer. Of course he'd tell her in a moment though. But this offer made her wonder with fascination. He was a nice guy- charming, friendly, good looking. But she was unsure of where he'd lead her,"You don't have to pay for a room. That's unnecessary." she'd say.

Yuurei would chuckle when she asked these questions and it was delightful to hear her words. She was indeed a pure one, and he found it cute and adorable. He would rub the back of his head as she stumped him for a second, but he would answer her anyway. It just took him a few seconds to gather his thoughts.
“I meant it in a way when a man and woman get together and do things that should be done in private.” He said to her as he did a light chuckle as she truly never did anything of the sort.
Still, moving onto the next topic in hand, she wasn’t sure about being a Magic Knight. He would her debate and her side of how she didn’t think she qualified in being a knight of clover. Of course, she wasn’t done though as she continued to bash herself because of what she was missing. The noble looked at her with a serious face and when she was done he would let his thoughts out to the open.
“You’re saying you don’t think you could do that because of what you’re lacking. You got to think about what you have and forget about what you’re missing. You are missing an arm? You can replace that with tar as you showed me. The only thing you missing is one eye, and sometimes one eye is better than a lot of people with two eyes.” He paused for a second as he got a little closer.
“If you think being a cripple should stop you from achieving greatness, then quit, but I think you could thrive if you put the work into it. If you push yourself to work hard, then you should be fine and will be able to catch up with those that you feel are ahead of you.” He said as his serious look had a smile on his face.
“I worked and trained hard to get strong and catch up to those stronger than me. It didn’t even take me long to become a Captain. I have been one since I was fifteen years old, so I think anything is possible as long as your work for it, Rat.” He said hoping that she would take those words into consideration.
Now that next thing she had asked about was where did he want her to stay. After her hearing, she told him he didn’t have to spend money on a room. He would only finish his drink as he would get up from his seat and stretch a bit as he would look at her after he was done.
“No worries on me having to pay for a room. I’m offering you a place to sleep within the Silver Eagles base. There is a guest room that you can stay in for the night. Nobody will bother you, so you don’t have to worry about that. It beats actually being outside through the night and being on guard that somebody might attack you in your sleep.” He paused for a second.
“So what do you say? Are you fine with spending the night in a mansion filled with knights?” He asked her as he sat his butt back down and her soup would arrive soon after.
