The numerous attractions that catered to the masses were nice enough, as if there was something for everyone. She smiled, wryly, as she wondered what type of blood soaked fete she would have concocted if she was the one who had been in charge. The more she walked and looked, the more she had ignored the growing pain that was in her stomach. Yawning, and stretching simultaneously, it was during this brief moment of respite that she first heard the terrible monster lurking in her abdomen.
"Grrrrrrgggrgr!"
Her stomach had roared loud enough for anyone nearby to hear, as well as loud enough to cause a thick crimson to appear on her cheeks.
It was one thing to be hungry, living her lifestyle it was something that happened from time to time, but to let everyone know in such a shameful manner? Looking around, she found the most wondrous attraction yet! An eating contest! She could easily cast a stone and hit two birds, taking care of both her hunger and getting away from anyone who could've seen such a moment. Waiting not even a moment, Chrys began her mad dash to take part in the eating contest unworried about any other contenders. She may not be able to have her own brand of fun today, but she would eat up her competition and leave no crumbs.

This event has gotten Gideon lost as he has no clue where to go. He did plan to see what lies outside his prison of a home, but at the same time, he doesn't even know what to look for or where to start. As peaceful as this place was, he realized that it could be a lot better with his mother being here. She would have enjoyed the festivities. The flowers, the food, the activities, all of these would have put a smile on her face and maybe his. Thinking about 'what ifs' made Gideon frown as he knows that thinking about 'what ifs' is pointless especially if it involves the dead.
While thinking about the festivities that are peaceful and his mother, he realized that he was deep in thought that some people are looking at him strangely. That didn't bother him at until he felt something uneasy. He felt his core rumble. Gideon hadn't had this feeling in more than a decade. He was famished. He was a noble that his life was taken care of. From his mother or servants, anything he needed and wanted was handed to him, especially food. But it has been a while since he ate; more than a day. Then he spelled this delicious aroma coming from one of the events. He walked and followed the scent. He knows what he is going to do in this festival, and he is going to fill his stomach..

Before she knew what was happening, it had appeared that the contests were lining themselves up all around in preparation for the challenge that was ahead of them. Most of the challengers were men and of imposing sizes, though there was at least one other woman there and that made her feel a sense of solidarity. Stretching out her sore limbs once again, she wondered what kind of foods they would have them consume. Chrys had heard of numerous different eating contests where they attacked pies or hot dogs. Would this be something along those lines? Putting a hand to her chin, she pondered the numerous things that could come out.
"Ooh, I hope there's a ton of dessert!" she found herself speaking aloud before she could even realize it.
Despite her mindset of murder and torture, she found that it was nice every so often to just surrounded one's self to their surroundings and seeing what would come of it. She was by no means an optimist, and that wouldn't change any time soon, but it was relaxing to enjoy a piece of the country she wished to burn down. One of the newest challengers walks in, noticeably more fit than the rest of the people who were going to compete even more than Chrys. Giving the man a soft wave and a smile, she greeted him as he was the closest to her.
"Hello, good evening and good luck to you, today. Are you as excited as I am?" the young woman asked the man, her crimson eyes filled with curiosity.

Gideon arrived at the station where he followed the scent. When he arrived there, he sees that this station of the event was attracting all sorts of people; of all shapes and sizes. Gideon, felt the hunger gnawing at his stomach even more when he looked up from his spot in the bustling festival. He had been observing the contestants lining up, their imposing figures making him feel slightly out of place. However, seeing a few women among them brought a sense of camaraderie to his heart. He couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement at the upcoming challenge. This made it more interesting.
As he heard the woman speak aloud about her hopes for a dessert-filled contest, a grin spread across Gideon's face. "I'm with you on that one! Also, not just dessert, but ANY food is a lot more delicious when you are hungry," he replied, his voice filled with genuine enthusiasm. "It's been a while since I've had a good meal, so I'm ready to devour whatever they give to us."
Despite the weight of his hunger and his usually serious demeanor, Gideon found solace in immersing himself in the festive atmosphere. He understood the irony of appreciating the country he had once wished to burn down, but he also knew the importance of finding moments of relaxation amidst the goal to create chaos. He nodded in agreement with the woman's sentiment, appreciating the serenity of the moment.
Just then, a noticeably fit man entered the scene, catching Gideon's attention. Gideon returned the woman's smile and wave before turning to face the newcomer. "Good evening to you too. And thank you for the good wishes," Gideon greeted him with a respectful nod. "Excited? Absolutely! I've been waiting for something like this to quench my hunger. May the best eater win!"
Gideon's eyes sparkled with a mix of determination and hunger. He was ready to give his all, fueled by both his empty stomach and his competitive spirit. Something like this doesn't normally get him riled up. Was it the competition or his hunger after not eating for almost 2 days? Regardless, he is going to eat to his fullest.

Chrys was a bit embarrassed that someone had her mention her dream of desserts, but she had allowed the greedy thought to slip through her pink lips so it was her own fault. It was almost funny to see this woman, so filled with depravity and murderous intent, to walk around behaving like a normal woman. And, when she was around her fellow commoners, she was like this a decent amount of the time. But the juxtaposition of the two personality traits made for an interesting personality.
A bunch of contestants were gathering at this point, and they announced that registration was going to be cut off so any last minute entries had to hurry in. Looking from left to right, their group had grown to a decent size and she actually remembered that this was a contest not just an event that had catered to her starvation. The more her stomach growled, and she pretended it was just the ambiance around, the more she noted that she was more than ready to go ahead and get started! But it seemed as if the man standing next to her had more in common than she originally thought.
"That's funny, that's pretty much the same reason I came over here! After not eating for so long, anything they throw out is going to be amazing! I still have my favorites, though," she spoke to him, giving a shy smile as she spoke to him. She still had her air of wariness around her, though it had been reduced to a soft mist on a day like today.
The man reciprocated her hello as well as her best wishes, and she shot him a wider smile this time. "Yes, may the best eater win! Just don't underestimate my voracity!" she warned him, as the announcement declared that they would momentarily begin and she tied up her hair so that it would remain out of her way.
Sitting at the table, ironically, it seemed as if she would be seated next to him during the event. It was funny enough, but she wasn't sure what to make of him. Was he someone who would prove to be stiff competition, or was his talk of being ready to eat so much simply swagger? Licking her lips, she decided that she couldn't shake the anticipation either way.

Gideon observed the woman, noticing the subtle transformation in her demeanor. It was intriguing to see the stark contrast between her depravity and her ordinary behavior in the presence of others. He couldn't help but find it amusing, appreciating the complexity of her personality.
As more contestants gathered, the announcement of registration closing caught the woman’s' attention, snapping her back to the realization that this was, indeed, a contest. Gideon chuckled softly, understanding her momentary distraction. Hunger had a way of clouding one's thoughts, and he could relate to her eagerness to finally satiate her appetite.
The woman gave shy smile was met with a genuine one from Gideon, appreciating the lighthearted exchange they were having amidst the impending challenge. Her warning not to underestimate her voracity only added to the excitement in the air. Gideon respected her competitive spirit and silently vowed to give it his all as well.
As they took their seats at the table, fate had placed them side by side. Gideon couldn't help but chuckle at the irony of the situation. It seemed they would have the opportunity to directly gauge each other's eating prowess. He glanced at her, studying her determined expression and the anticipation reflected in her eyes.
"May the best eater win indeed," Gideon replied, a spark of competitiveness lighting up his crimson gaze. "I won't take you lightly, Chrys. Let's give it our all and enjoy this feast together."
With his hair tied back, ready to face the challenge head-on, Gideon's hunger became a driving force, igniting a fire within him. As the contest was about to begin, he couldn't shake the anticipation either, eager to see how both his and her' appetites would fare in this ultimate test of consumption over this food . The smell and the food looking delicious; he was not going to just eat the food, but he will inhale the food.

Enjoying the tender moment that they were having she felt a small twinge of disappointment when it was truly time to start the contest in earnest. The first thing they began delivering to all the contestants, of course, were plates of hot dogs all inside of buns. Atop shining silver plates they were stacked together in the form of a pyramid, fifteen glorious hot dogs sat in front of every single competitor. The very first round was a sort of preliminary, seeking to thin out the crowds as only the fastest at eating the pile would be able to advance.
It took a moment before every competitor to attain their meaty missions, Chrys and Gideon among the last, but once they were ready they began to audibly countdown for everyone to begin their assault. The beautiful smell of the smoky grill that they were cooked on wafted to her nose, causing her stomach to growl loudly once more.
3, 2, 1, begin!
The host announced the start of the competiton, and Chrys went straight to work inhaling the objects that were going to sate her enormous hunger. One, two, three, she easily made her way through the first set of them before realizing she desperately needed some water. Gripping her glass, she quickly downed enough to allow passage of the mass amounts of food before her hands went back in. Before they had started she had her eyes on everyone and everything, she wanted to ensure that she could analyze everything that was going on. Now that she was actually eating, she lost herself in the sheer bliss of it all. Some people had been incredibly fast, finishing before her but, unbeknownst to her, there were others who were moving much more sluggishly than she was. She was making incredible headway, and the humor of it all was that it was just a free dinner to the beautiful psychopath.
Looking to her side, for the first time since they began eating and as she shoved a hot dog into her mouth, she assessed how her acquaintance was handling himself during the festivities. Was he one of the people who had finished before her? Was he neck and neck with her? Curiosity ruled her, and was noticeably more so in her gaze than her words.
"Hof yoof dofinf?" she questioned the young blonde, unsure if he was able to understand her or not, hastily chewing as she only needed a couple of more to finish and advance, easily done in a few moments.

Gideon dove headfirst into the contest, his competitive spirit pushing him forward. The sight of the pyramid of hot dogs before him was both tantalizing and daunting. He could practically smell the smoky grill and hear the sizzling, causing his stomach to growl in anticipation. As the countdown reached its climax, he braced himself and launched into action.
Devouring the hot dogs with focused determination, Gideon swiftly made his way through the first few, relishing the taste and texture of each bite. However, he noticed her beside him, shoving a hot dog into her mouth as she assessed their progress. The intensity in her gaze intrigued him, and he understood her silent question.
"Mmff... Doing fine!"[/b] Gideon managed to reply, his voice slightly muffled due to the food in his mouth. He gave her a quick nod and a determined smile before resuming his rapid consumption.
The frenzy of the contest consumed them both, momentarily suspending their awareness of anything beyond the glorious task at hand. Gideon's focus was solely on the challenge, losing himself in the sheer bliss of indulgence. The realization that this was just a free dinner to the woman brought a wry smile to his face, appreciating the irony of their shared motivations despite their contrasting personalities.
As he neared the end of his portion, Gideon's pace quickened. He had observed some participants finishing ahead of him, but he also knew there were others who were lagging behind. With a few more hot dogs left to conquer, he could taste the victory within reach.
Chewing hastily, she questioned him between bites, her words slightly garbled. Gideon understood her inquiry and, with a mouthful of food, managed to reply, "Almost done!" His determination burned in his crimson eyes as he continued to consume the remaining hot dogs, confident in his progress.
The festival atmosphere around them faded into the background as Gideon and the woman focused solely on the competition, their appetites driving them forward. With just a few more bites, Gideon aimed to secure his advancement to the next round, eager to see how far both his and her's voracious hunger would take them in this eating contest.

Gideon responded to her inquiry in a positive manner as they ravenously wolfed down the meat and bread pile in front of them, making very impressive work. She didn't consider the task daunting and, in fact, as she finished her last one she noted that she could actually eat more. She was ready to eat her fill until she could pop and she was nowhere any level of inflation just yet. Sighing, she finished the glass of water that had aided in allowing some of the food to slide down with ease before she asked one of the people in charge to refill the glass.
The two of them had been doing great work and, with their last few bites, they easily secured their placements in the next round. It was not a surprise, really, given the way that they had been assaulting their plates. During the brief intermission, she had decided to take the opportunity to get to know the man she had just met a little better.
"So, are you from around these parts? Just visiting for the festival?" she quizzed, curiosity practically dripping from her words. It was actually kind of odd for her to wonder about him, but then she considered that it had been some time since she had a normal interaction with people. Usually her conversations were just with her victims, alone in whatever space she occupied at the moment.
And! I can't wait to see what's next, I know that I'm nowhere near my limit! Let's eat!" she cried out, eliciting a couple cheers from her competitors while she giggled, clearly entertained. The deranged woman, who often thought of herself as a fallen member of nobility, found that this was one of the few times she was able to relax and enjoy the moment rather than planning. That being the case, she justified her being there solely for the food content she was about to inhale.

Gideon's eyes widened in amazement as he witnessed Chrys devour the hot dogs with impressive speed and enthusiasm. Her hunger seemed insatiable, and he couldn't help but admire her voracity. As he took his final bites, he realized that he too could have consumed more, feeling a similar desire to indulge until he was truly satiated. It was a rare opportunity to revel in the simple pleasure of eating without any ulterior motives.
Noticing Chrys finishing her glass of water, Gideon followed suit, grateful for the refreshment that aided in the consumption. He watched as she requested a refill, a reminder of her unyielding appetite. It was clear that they had both made remarkable progress, securing their places in the next round without much surprise.
During the brief intermission, Chrys took the initiative to engage in conversation, seeking to know more about Gideon. Her curiosity dripped from her words, and Gideon found himself intrigued by her sudden interest in him. It had been a while since he had a normal interaction with someone outside his usual circle, and her inquisitiveness sparked his own desire to connect. There was something about her.
"I'm actually visiting for the festival because I was curious. But I may prolong my stay." Gideon answered, a faint smile gracing his lips. "Being here and when I heard about the eating contest and couldn't resist the opportunity to test my appetite. It's been a refreshing change from my usual routines."
He appreciated the woman's energy and her infectious excitement for what lay ahead. Her cheers and giggles resonated with him, and he found himself joining in, the festival atmosphere fueling his enjoyment. It was a respite from the burdens he carried, allowing him to fully embrace the present moment. "I'm looking forward to the next round as well! Just so you know I haven't eaten almost two days so I can feast for a long time" Gideon exclaimed, his voice filled with genuine anticipation. He had confidence and more so in eating. "I have a feeling we're just getting started. Let's continue to savor every bite and show these weaklings."
He couldn't help but feel a sense of camaraderie with her, despite their contrasting personalities. In this moment, they were united by their shared hunger and the thrill of the contest. Gideon knew that for now, he was there solely for the food, relishing the chance to immerse himself in this unique experience alongside his fellow competitors, especially the intriguing and enigmatic Chrys.

Talking to the young man, Chrys was able to discover that they had a lot in common in regards to their reasons for being there. Not a particular reason, truly, simply a curiosity as to what was going to be happening at the events. Would there be murder and mayhem, or would everyone sing around the campfire? While she was happy that there were a ton of poor people, no better way to describe it, that had slugged their way there to enjoy as well she allowed the haze of her happiness at finally eating to settle and realized just how much nobility had been surrounding her. It was sickening to say the least though she wouldn't be allowed to dwell on the feelings long as she was engaged in a conversation.
"It seems our reasons for coming here are rather similar, though I have no plans to linger around nobility. Though you are right, this is a refreshing change of pace, though I do miss some of my usual routine," she spoke back to him with a smile, and subtly hinting that she missed the maiming she usually took part in. She had no desire to stay in Raque and would depart immediately, lest she be identified and caught. Though she hadn't left any victims, so she wondered just how that would go.
Gideon was a nice breath of fresh air for Chrys, and it seemed as if he had circumstances that were similar to hers - especially if he had gone without eating for days. They were friendly but they still considered one another fierce competition and that was exciting! She appreciated and enjoyed all of the sentiments that she had been presented with.
"It's been a while since I've eaten, as well, so let's feast and face off in the final round!" she set forth a challenge for the man, before the first round had finished up. He was right, they were just getting started and the next food item that they were required to eat was, much to her immense delight, a dessert. Pies were being handed out in small pyramids to each participant. She found herself clapping in anticipation, ready to begin immediately. When her pile was given, she smelled that they were all of the blueberry descent. Blueberry wasn't her favorite, but she would still inhale it all the same. The only thing that bothered her was the manner in which they wanted them to eat the pies, without using their hands.
"Oh...this is going to be something, let's go," she called out to Gideon shortly before the announcer alerted everyone to begin. Slightly hunched over, she began to chomp away at the flaky crust and the sweet filling. The only things better than this, to Chrys, were unspeakable and best left in the confines of her mind.
Post by Gideon Wildheart on Jun 16, 2023 16:21:48 GMT -5
Gideon listened attentively to Chrys as she shared her perspective on their reasons for being at the festival. He understood her desire for something different, a break from the routines and expectations that often came with their respective backgrounds. Her mention of not lingering around nobility struck a chord with him, acknowledging the stark contrast between their current surroundings and the world they typically inhabited.
"I can relate to wanting to step away from the nobility," Gideon replied, his tone carrying a hint of understanding. "Sometimes, it's liberating to be in the company of those who aren't bound by social expectations. And too much corruption within the noble hierarchy bullshit"
He caught the subtle hint in Chrys' words, recognizing her longing for the thrill of her usual routines, the darker side she alluded to. While he couldn't fully comprehend her desires, he respected her individuality and the complexity of her character. There was an undeniable sense of intrigue in their interaction, fueled by their friendly yet fiercely competitive dynamic.
Chrys issued a challenge, declaring her readiness to feast and face off in the final round. Gideon grinned, accepting the challenge with a glimmer of excitement in his eyes. The anticipation built as they awaited the announcement of the next food item, and when the desserts arrived in the form of blueberry pies, Chrys couldn't contain her delight. Gideon couldn't help but chuckle at her enthusiasm, appreciating her unfiltered joy in the face of indulgence.
As they were instructed to eat the pies without using their hands, Chrys voiced a mix of amusement and determination. Gideon shared her sentiment, fully aware that this challenge would test their skills and create a memorable experience. He nodded in agreement, acknowledging her call to action.
"Indeed, this will be something to remember," Gideon replied, his voice laced with anticipation. "Let's dig in and show them what we're capable of."
With the announcer's signal, they dove into the pies, Chrys chomping away at the flaky crust and the sweet blueberry filling. Gideon marveled at her dedication and the intensity with which she approached the task. As the taste of the pie filled his mouth, he couldn't help but appreciate the simple pleasure of the moment, knowing that their paths had crossed in this unlikely setting.
Their journey through the festival continued, each round and each bite bringing them closer to the climax. And as Chrys devoured the pie before her, Gideon could not help but wonder what other surprises awaited them, both in the contest and in their evolving camaraderie.
Post by Chyrs Millefiore on Jun 20, 2023 19:59:19 GMT -5
Chrys was like a monster in motion, hungrily devouring the pies that had been placed in front of her. It took a moment, she had to stop her ravenous ways for a couple of seconds, but she noted that many people around her were faltering heavily. The combined usage of bread was a successful tactic when it came to making the contestants fill their stomach much quicker than they normally would have. The large amount of hot dogs, and then the flaky crusts of the pies were meant to hamper their ability to take in extra food and it was working. Left and right of her, though Gideon had remained steadfast in his words, people were forfeiting the competition.
It was no big surprise, most of them had never been hungry a day in their lives so it wasn't as if they were going to be here for the prize. And for Chrys the prize didn't matter since her prize was the contest itself. Just being able to gorge herself on amazing food and let the stress of her earlier torturing fade away into the background. She had met a companion that she enjoyed talking to, which was a rare thing,
Finishing her fourth pie, she finally felt the effects of fatigue and her stomach being filled. She had held out valiantly, but she knew that soon she would be reaching her true limits. She could do nothing more than focus and get her mind into the zone, but she decided to take just a brief moment to drink some water and respond to her newfound friend.
"I'm surprised to meet someone who agrees with my views," she answered first, pleasantly surprised that he agreed with her sentiments. Most people would rather die than voice such opinions, but he had agreed easily.
The window was but a small one and she only had enough room for an extra pie, but her fire was lit once more and she felt the strong urge to compete with Gideon until the last breath. She took a deep breath before allowing herself to, rather inelegantly, dive back into the confections and make her mark. Before she knew it, there were no other contestants and found that many had given up already. Her words had come true, in a sense, as they were the last two fighting for the 'crown', in a matter of speaking.
She wanted to talk, but her mouth was full and so she trotted forward - until she finally hit her limit. Two pies away from victory, she had stuffed herself to the limit and a bit beyond. Chrys knew that if she put one more thing into her mouth, that their trajectory would instantly reverse. She raised her arm into the air and waved it around to declare her surrender, as her other arm lightly massaged her stomach as if to ease the oncoming pains. Groaning, the crowd began to cheer crazily as that meant that Gideon was the de facto winner of the eating contest.
"Well met...if I had to lose to anyone, I'm glad it was you!" she managed to get out, as she attempted to rise to her feet and exit back to her lair deep within the reaches of the Forsaken Region. Tonight had been truly entertaining, but now it was time for her to head home and begin plotting her next moves in earnest.
Post by Gideon Wildheart on Jun 20, 2023 21:19:37 GMT -5
Gideon watched in awe as Chrys unleashed her insatiable appetite upon the pies, devouring them with a voracity that surpassed even his own. The strategic inclusion of bread in the previous round had clearly taken its toll on the other contestants, causing many to falter and eventually give up. The sight was not surprising to him, as he had witnessed firsthand the stark contrast between their genuine hunger and the mere curiosity of the privileged participants. As Chrys reached her fourth pie, a sense of fatigue finally washed over her. Gideon admired her tenacity, recognizing that she had pushed herself to the brink of her limits. He could see the determination in her eyes, and he knew that she would give her all until the very end. Taking a moment to drink water and catch her breath, she responded to his earlier agreement with surprise and appreciation.
"I've found that it's often the unconventional perspectives that resonate the most," Gideon replied, his voice filled with understanding. "In a world consumed by pretense and false facades, it's refreshing to meet someone who shares a similar outlook. I'm grateful to have crossed paths with you."
As the contest entered its final phase, Chrys's determination burned brighter than ever. With only two pies remaining between her and victory, she pushed herself to continue, her fire reignited. The other contestants had given up, leaving only her and Gideon to vie for the crown, albeit an imaginary one. They had become the last contenders in this battle of appetites. Chrys's mouth was full, her focus solely on the task at hand, and Gideon admired her unwavering dedication. However, he sensed her impending limit, her body signaling that she could no longer take another bite. With a wave of her arm and a declaration of surrender, the crowd erupted into cheers, celebrating Gideon as the de facto winner of the contest.
He watched Chrys, a mixture of respect and sympathy in his eyes, as she acknowledged his victory and expressed her admiration. The bond they had formed during the contest was evident in her words, and Gideon felt a genuine sense of camaraderie with her.
"Well met, indeed," he replied, a touch of humility in his voice. "Your spirited competition has made this experience all the more memorable. Thank you for the challenge."
As Chrys rose to her feet, her stomach protesting the excess, Gideon understood that it was time for her to depart. He respected her need for solitude and secrecy, aware that her path diverged from his own. With a nod of acknowledgment, he bid her farewell.
"Safe travels, Chrys," he said, his voice sincere. "May our paths cross again someday, under different circumstances."
As she disappeared into the depths of the Forsaken Region, Gideon stood amidst the cheering crowd, a mix of emotions coursing through him. He had emerged victorious, but the real prize lay in the unexpected connection he had formed with Chrys—a fleeting moment of understanding and shared purpose.
