[attr="class","augusttext"] Asahi had found himself within the wildlands, however his reasoning was one he would probably never speak of. He found himself here as he had recently taken some of his meager earnings and hired someone to teach him a new element through the black market. Such black market dealings were known to be less than great, often times with people being double crossed and back stabbed. However he had thought a reputable broker who had put him in touch with a mage known to have the element of precious metals. Asahi almost drooled at the idea of making swords of gold and platinum with the hopes of selling them for riches. [BREAK][BREAK] The broker had given the two a meeting point out within the forest so that they could have a training session with no distractions and away from all prying eyes. Asahi was a bit skeptical about the situation as he knew that most people associated with dealings like this were on the wrong side of the law, however he shook the idea of running into a rogue as he was into one of these deals and he was far from a rogue. As the black bull arrived at the spot it would appear that he had been the first to arrive, with his instructor being nowhere in sight. So he would take himself a seat and begin to meditate as he would wait for the person to show up.
Connor stood motionless, his typically expressionless face betraying a hint of confusion as he regarded the Agent of Avarice before him. The Agent stood out from the other Black Market representatives in formal regalia, their attire giving off an air of superiority. Connor had worked with Agents of Avarice before and knew they were greedy but not susceptible to bribery. They were also notoriously secretive and gave very little information about themselves. This Agent, however, approached Connor in broad daylight and expected more than he got. Connor was different from the men commonly needed or wanted around. He was loyal only to himself, more than he would ever pledge to a king.
Despite his disinterest, Connor was intrigued by the excessive amount of money promised. The Agent who had approached him was more distinguished than the usual Avarice minions, and Connor knew them through the Eclipse Ravens. He saw them as a necessary evil, a conduit for formal business conducted by unscrupulous individuals to channel their more creative endeavours. Connor was merely a small cog in a more extensive operation for the common man. He rarely ventured beyond his position due to slothful tendencies or lack of inspiration.
As he reflected on his past, Connor became numb and meandered through the Wild Lands, seeking refuge from the distorted assumptions of propaganda that passed as peace in Clover. After learning that demons and devils walked the land, he realised that society was desensitised and ignorant. In his view, the crown was craven and built upon the needless sacrifice of their people's lives and efforts.
Connor's keen senses found his young student in the agreed-upon location. He often relied on his ambiguity to remain anonymous amidst public criticism. If the rogue himself did anything morally repugnant, it would reflect poorly on the establishment that Connor represented. Engaging in vilification and other oppressive actions could lead to severe consequences. This idea momentarily bounced around in the Eclipse Raven's skull before he casually introduced himself. "Hello?" he said, cautiously and courteously alerting the armed Black Bull Magic Knight to his presence. He hoped that the young knight was educated. Hoping his face betrayed no emotion other than precarious curiosity, Connor kept a safe distance until acknowledged. The young knight appeared to be patiently meditating, biding his time.
Connor used alchemical balms to disguise his brown hair, giving it an ash-white pigmentation for aesthetics. He wore his Olath Sjaal, a dark cloth armour that reacted to foreign words. Connor was delighted with his purchase but had to spend a fair amount of money on it, even with a discount. Every other aspect of the rogue's appearance was mundane. Although Connor appeared relaxed and calm in his nonverbal communication, he felt slightly anxious. This could be another test. The situation could be a trap. Connor attempted to maintain an air of ease but found it exhausting to keep his composure. "Are you the guy I'm looking for?" he asked hesitantly, without providing any context. This unusually crafted cloth jacket came from the renowned Clearblade family. Though it is light and appears like it is made out of black cloth it is as durable as any metal armour out there. They have made it in such a way that if a person has the element shadow then it can be strengthened. The garment seems to fit perfectly regardless of the size of the person wearing it. It allows for mobility and running although you will find a distinct lack of pockets. As this is armour it can take up to senior physical damage.
The wearer only needs to mutter the word 'Varn' to get this ability to activate, from the fabric of the coat seems to flow a shadow-like mist that slowly spreads over the wearer's body before it seemingly hardens like a second skin giving the wearer an almost ash pigmentation to their skin. This shield can take up to senior rank damage before being destroyed.
The wearer needs to only utter the word 'Drislved' to get this ability to activate, a thin shadow-like fog appears around the wearer of the armour allowing them to potentially ignore spells of intermediate rank or lower if they have +5 power over the wearer's durability then half the damage would still be taken and if the power is +10 over the wearer's durability then full damage would be taken. In addition to this, the wearer will find their speed slightly increased thanks to the armour being made of fabric and not metal.
[attr="class","augusttext"] It would not take long before Asahi would be approached by another. His eyes were closed but his other senses were keen and alert, some how feeling the man get close. He would enter with a simple hello, causing Asahi to open his eyes. He would flash a simple wave with his left hand to acknowledge the man who kept his distance. Before long the man would ask if he was the guy he was looking for. Asahi’s eyebrow would raise after the question was asked, yet his face would remain blank void of emotion. He would simply nod his head before speaking out to say “I am indeed the guy. I understand our meeting here today is one of… darker means so for today you can bare no mind to the mantle upon me. I am but a person trying to further my knowledge and progression.” [BREAK][BREAK] He would cease to speak, but in short he had told the man that he was who he was looking for. Asahi would make his way to his feet and pull out his sword before throwing it into the ground. Looking at the white haired man he would say “To make things easier lets just give code names, you can call me Samurai.” Taking a breathe before he was about to go on his spew, and giving the man a moment to say a name in response. “What I need you for is to teach me your element. You may be a bit confused on how such a thing works, however I have a guide to doing so. I just need you to do as I say and this should be a smooth process.” [BREAK][BREAK] Asahi would point at the sword stuck into the dirt before saying “That blade shall play a vital part of this process but first we must have a bit of a conversation. A conversation of magic and the elements, but more specifically your element….” He would take a pause before he would approach the man and and sit. “First you must agree to teach me in this endeavor. And after that the next step is for you to explain your element and how it feels to you. This might take a bit so best if you take a seat.”
