Fell wandered into the newest town of his travels, Silva it was known as named after the nobles who resided in it he would guess. The Silva family were also known for being part of the silver eagles squad, a squad that much like the golden dawn would most likely look down on the commoner. Nonetheless Fell made his way into what he would deem was the center of town.
*Growl*
Fell quickly bent over, realizing how much pain was in his stomach. The dumb teen had forgotten to eat all day and somehow managed to starve himself more now that he has money, than he ever did living the life of a commoner. The boy looked around, the town of Silva was no dead town by any means surely there was someone who could point him to a place to eat. Of course looking around all he saw was either scary nobles, traders, burly mean looking men and lastly women running around obviously busy.
Fell spotted someone though who didn't seem to fit into any of these categories and ran up to them, it was a girl. She was short with white hair and pale skin, in all honesty she looked rather frail but Fell couldn't quite tell why. She looked nice from behind, and the boy had hoped she didn't turn around and end up being a terrifying noble ready to rip him to shreds. Clutching his stomach as it growled again and sent pains through his body the boy tapped the lady on the shoulder.
“Hey...uh...i'm new in town….and i'm starving...any idea where I can get some good quick food.” Fell rattled, pausing each time his stomach growled in pain. The sound had grown loud enough the girl would probably even hear it.
“Please….I think I might pass out.” The boy looked at her helpless...almost like a lost puppy.

Rat didn't notice the man approaching her. Her back was turned and she was squatting. There were many mana signatures in the city and it was hard to keep track of who was who. Why she didn't feel the need to concentrate on that. Besides, she was having too much fun feeding squirrels and birds!
As she fed, the last squirrel and took the bread from her fingers without biting it'd bounce out. She'd stand upward, "Well that's the la- What!" she'd say quite starlted as he tapped her from behind. She whipped around and took two steps back from shock, "Oh um!" she'd say unsure of what to say, "Can I-?" she was about to ask but it seemed already the man had his mind set up on what to say unlike herself.
"New in town? Well welcome, she'd say. Her one arm reached out for a handshake and her one eye blinked curiously. She wore what she usually wore, a revealing dress and a pair of boots, but what was absurd was her confused mannerism. The woman was unsure of how to react.
"P-p-pass out!" she'd exclaim and soon became worried about the man. She took this very seriously, "O-Oh. I have a bit of yul. You can take it and get yourself something to eat. Ok?" she'd pull out her purse. He didn't look like a homeless commoner but she could be wrong. Besides, she looked like a commoner anywho despite living in her hometown. She was a former noble, well, a disowned one. No one could really tell though. People could have very different assumptions on her background without her saying. It's been 3 years since, the incident after all.
She was clueless about why out of the many people in the street he approached her, but she couldn't have ever known.
Unless he was attracted to her. What was she supposed to do about this stranger? Rat would turn red in her face in a few seconds, clearly coming to accurate conclusions as to why he greeted her with such a random introduction.
Fell was surprised how nice the girl was considering he was some random man tapping her. Though Fell's brain just clicked with why she looked so frail, it was the missing limb that he now took a look at. Suddenly the pain in his stomach started to fade as he looked at the limb and then at the missing one. He did this quickly so as to not freak the poor girl out, i'm sure she got looks all the time. Fell didn't judge the girl by any means, and he knew better than to ask what happened, they just met and everyone would be able to know that's probably not the best opener.
As she looked at him he also noticed the missing eye, it was hidden mostly by a flower but he noticed the missing eye nonetheless. But he wasn't focused on the missing one, he was focused on the other. It was much like his, an abnormal color. But it was beautiful, and for a moment Fell got lost in it. A different shade of his own, he could see in it that she was as nice as he thought her to be but with the missing limb and eye, maybe a much darker past.
Shaken out of the state he was in Fell realized the girl had offered him yul, to pay for the food. “Oh...no sorry I don't need money I was just wondering if there was anywhere near to eat. Ya see I just came from the capital and I haven't eaten all day and i'm starving.” Fell looked up, the sun was going down clearly dinner time maybe even later. “If you want we could go to whatever place is your favorite and you can show me what tastes the best?” Fell looked down at his stomach as it growled, but the pain seemingly disappeared.

The mage put her yul away.
Was this man just randomly asking her out?
Rat had no odd vibes from the man. Well, she wouldn't say ill intentions. He wasn't attempting to harm her, but he could easily hurt her. Yet, there was a bunch of people outside. There was no way he could randomly kidnap her here! Maybe he was just an awkward man and wanted her company.
Rat was confused in her face and looked down rather flustered, "Show you somewhere to eat? Eat with me? Uh..." she'd begin trying to repeat his request and understand the uncertainty of this conversation. She didn't know this man. But something told her to tag along.
It was in her nature to be so submissive.
So, she decided he could tag along. If he tried to drug her or something she'd be careful. She knew the rules from safety books in the basement after all. It was a thing. She looked at him, he was good looking. But very awkward and random.
Curious as to what this man wanted she didn't ask 'why ask' or 'how he felt' about this. Whereas many women would look the other direction and find him creepy, Rat, on the other hand, didn't mind. Nothing in the world could be as worse as Experimenter Dad. He was the worse man on the planet. He did every horrible thing to her. Was this man capable of doing the same?
"Are you trying to hurt me?" she would say and walk pass him expecting him to follow her. She didn't turn around to face him anymore, too flustered to make eye contact. She'd guide him to a place to eat instead of pointing and verbally directing him. She would go and decided to leave right after. Rat was deciding whether she really would eat with this man or not. He could be dangerous.
Fell heard the girl start to speak, repeating what he asked and he just waited. It wasn't long before she turned and brushed past him. This girl was different, and something about that attracted Fell to her. Fell had never felt attraction in any way, he loved his mother as a mother but that was the extent of it. Having rarely left his home until he left to the capital he hadn't met many people let alone women, and even then he never cared for anything...like that. But this girl was different, maybe it was that most of the people he had met up until now were scary nobles or busy working ladies that either wanted nothing to do with him, or didn't want him to exist. Maybe it was the slight airyness of the girl, and the soft look. Nonetheless he was starving and in need of food, so whatever she knew of as far as that went...he wanted it.
But as the girl brushed past him, Fell stopped. And a concerned look dawned on his face, he quickly followed the girl after being caught so off guard. It was weird that she would give up her back if she thought he was trying to hurt her or anything, though they also were in a public area of people.
“Me...no Im just hungry, and to be honest you are the first person I have met outside of my squad that doesn't just ignore me or be rude…and friends are something I am rather lacking of in this world.” Fell meant every word as he followed the girl, he had no intentions of causing the girl harm he wasn't like that. A lot of people misunderstood him when it came to that, especially when they saw the sort of magic he used. But in the end Fell wasn't a great fan of harming people and being mean, unless they were from the diamond kingdom and had any affiliation with their military. Those people were a whole nother story.
"Why do you ask...do I come off weird or as an attacker..Im not exactly from around here sorry." Fell was worried he had already came off as someone she didnt want to associate with, the first person to be nice.
"Really? You are a Magic Knight? Silver Eagle?" she'd ask the man assuming because of silva perhaps he went and joined the squad here, "I don't believe that I'm the first person to be kind to you. Surely, someone has been nice." she'd reply and furrow her brows in confusion. Well, her one brow that was hidden by the beautiful flower glued with medicine to her eye.
For some reason, the fact that even her father didn't show her love. Her siblings had shown her love and kindness and comfort. It was nice to not have to go through hell alone. So, to hear that no one was kind to this man or had no friends seemed odd. Especially, if he was a Knight. Surely, he had some coworkers that were friendly?
"Well, I guess I can join you. Just don't do anything weird," Rat would say as she walked. In a few minutes they stood outside of a cafe.
"You come off as weird because I am not used to being approached by men due to my handicaps. I am also not used to being approached in such a random manner as you just did." Rat would explain not facing the man. She could feel his presence and hear his footsteps behind her, "It caught me off guard, but if you don't do anything else weird we can be friends," she'd turn and face him. Her one eye peered at his expresesion trying to study and figure out how he felt for her. He probably wanted something more than a friend just by how he approached her. Yet, she'd get over that. He couldn't be as mentally and socially jacked in behavior than she was.
Rat was the vulnerable one in this pair.
"My name is Lab Rat - 666. What is yours?" she'd give a small smile and offer a hand.
“Oh no no no, i'm no silver eagle, they'd never allow me in their squad. I am in the crimson lions, came from the capital im just trying to learn about the world right now and stuff.” while the girl wasn't wrong in her next line of thinking, she wasn't the first person, but she was the first one that didn't intimidate Fell like the rest had. For the most part Fell was scared of everyone he met up to this point, and it made them seem scary and mean. Though in the end his squad had not been mean to him yet at least, and the people at the market weren't awful. But as far as genuine conversation she was only the second person he really talked to.
“I mean, you are really only the second person I have actually conversed this much with even. My squad isnt mean to me, but I just...find nobles and such intimidating.” Fell followed the girl and simply nodded when she told him not to be weird and listened while she explained why he came off as weird. To Fell the handicap was just another reason he felt more capable of talking to her, maybe it was something that showed they both were unlike the rich noble sheltered people that lived in this town and the capital. It made her more approachable. And if anything Fell felt bad for the girl, not like she was anyone to avoid.
They reached the Cafe and Fell looked into it, it was hard to wait for the food he was so hungry, but the girl introduced herself and he wasn't going to run off and be so rude “My names Fell” He grabbed the girls hand and shook it, the grip his mother had taught him to grow strong shaking the single arm of the girl. “That's an interesting name, is there a story behind it?” Fell wondered if it was the true name of the girl, it was a little odd and it worried him a little about the past of the girl. There may be a lot more to her than he had ever guessed. And this only intrigued the boy even more. Opening the door he waved his hand to the girl waiting for her to walk through. Fell didn't know if he should mention that the handicap didn't bother him, but for now he would let it go and bring it up another time. He wondered more on the name and its history and meaning.

Rat would smile as he introduced himself, “That’s a cool name.” she’d comment. The woman meant it as well. He’d open the door for her to go inside the cafe. It smelled of coffee beans, a fire in the back, and various scents of food. It was overally, pleasant, yet clashing sensations of scent.
“Now what’s the history behind your name?”
She'd ask for him to share his side of the story. What was 'Fell' supposed to mean? Was it short for another name she was unfamiliar with? It was a strange name, much weirder than the name Rat. Though much of society would digress a beautiful woman such as Rat to have such a horrendous name.
"There is nothing interesting about my name." Rat would say, "I call myself Rat because that is the name I was given by my father."
Rat would then walk through the door and go inside. She had been inside this cafe numerous times before. She quite enjoyed hot tea with cookies. So, off she went and sat on some wooden chairs not near the door to avoid humidity and the sun's harsh rays. She was in a good mood, but still unsure of the company of this random. Was he really who he said he was?
He would tell her that this was the first friendship he had in a while. She was confused on the noble remark and found herself beginning to get flashbacks.
Control yourself, Rat.
Rat's disturbed and silent expression would be interrupted when a waitress came by and eyed Fell, "What can I get for you today?" the waitress said only looking at Fell and ignoring Rat who still, looked bothered and stunned by such a statement. There was more going in her brain than expected and what she had chosen to share with her new admirer.
Fell followed the girl through the door and into the cafe, following her away from the door and to some nearby chairs. He listened as she spoke saying it was simply the name she was given, though it did seem a little odd that the girl quickly dismissed any actual meaning behind the name. But at the same token it wasn't like Fell could provide any sort of insight to his own name either. As they sat down Fell told her of his name…
“Well, I don't really know. I was too young to ever ask my birth parents why they named me Fell. After they died I never really had the chance to ask so I just kinda accept it.” Fell said, he had already grown to accept what had happened to his family and town, he didn't really show any signs of pain or sadness about it anymore. But god help anyone who he met from the diamond kingdom, they would see his pain. Feel it.
The waitress approached the table, and Fell assumed they had a similar menu as any similar place and quickly ordered himself a normal sandwich with turkey and cheese, an iced tea and a bagel. Once Rat would order and the waitress would disappear, Fell would continue to make conversation and ask the girl “So what are you doing around here, you live in Silva?”.
Fell wasn’t the greatest at conversations with people but he was getting better. And something seemed a little easier with Rat possibly the mysterious past he assumed she had made her seem less intimidating compared to many people he had been around recently. This may have just caused her to be easier to talk to, but at the same time she seemed more reserved and maybe confused at the moment so that could have been it as well.

The waitress would appear and ask for her order, "Some hot tea and cookies to go with, would be fine," she'd say slowly coming out of her trance. Her trance consisted of the day her adoptive 'father' gave her the new name of the basement. It was weird to her, but she'd learn to be ok with it.
It'd be ok. No need to excessively react or be in distress. That's why she called herself 'Rat' after all.
"Oh," she'd say in response to his story about his family dead. He had no biological family to look towards, much like herself. Being an orphan sucked, "Are you an orphan? If so I'm sorry to hear. Hope that's not too personal to ask!" Then again, she did have a biological family. They just didn't want her for being crippled and emotionally ill. If he asked why such a thing she'd give the truth but was very personal and secluded only due to trauma.
"I didn't really grow up here. I grew up in the Forsaken region. I prefer living in noble region due, to the quality of life here. Where are you from, Fell?" she'd ask with a smile.
As the waitress returned, sashaying her hips towards Fell with a pitcher of hot and cold tea, she'd give a smile. Maybe too much of a smile, and with all the guts she had, she asked, "Are you two courting?"
And Rat who had been staring at Fell the entire time stared, "I..... I don't know. I don't think we are?" she'd say confused by such a statement coming from a person on the job. Rat would proceed to keep staring at Fell waiting for some sort of response to come from him. He was definitely sexually attracted to her. It was obvious. But at the same time, was still weary about him. A man abruptly asked to eat with her. And she did. But now someone was questioning their attraction. They weren't courting, but she wasn't sure to say 'yes' to get the lady to leave them alone, or 'no' for this to continue and not make Fell- a friend, act upset.
Fell thought it was rather interesting how opposite the two orders were from each other, Fell himself had gotten his iced tea while she got hot tea, polar opposites. And For food Fell had gotten a sandwich, something fairly healthy while the girl had gotten an unhealthy snack. It didn't bother Fell at all, he just wasn't much of a snack kind of person and generally stuck to meals. Nonetheless he would listen to Rat as she spoke. And would respond between the question and comments.
First the girl had asked if he was an orphan, and the question was rather complicated, when most people thought of orphans someone like Fell probably wouldn't come to mind. Fell had revenge in his heart for the people who killed his family for sure, but he didn't exactly live life mentally scared because of the events. Matter of fact even if Fell could take it back he would have a hard time ever making such a choice, he loved his mother now, he didn't want to lose her. He didn't exactly have any qualms that he ended up with a new mother, but in the end he was an orphan.
“Yeah I guess I would be an orphan, but it's not a big deal really.” Fell decided to leave out the minor detail that his major life goal was to kill the people who had anything to do with what had happened to his family. Kids of the people who had done it would even suffer, but that probably wasn't something to mention at your first meeting of someone. The girl answered his question with a fair response, and something that fell completely understood. He had grown to love the food and housing of the world outside of the village he grew up in. Still now he traveled around, but in the end places like Silva were simply...nice. “I am from a village of little importance. Originally I was born somewhere on the border of Clover and The Diamond Kingdom. But I grew up closer to the capital after the village was destroyed. I plan to go back sometime, pay my mother a visit, I owe her a lot. Though I also love the nice beds and food of the noble region, but I like traveling more so in the end I sleep wherever I can find a bed. Do you think you would ever travel, or do you have any desire too? The world is a magnificent place, full of all sorts of ups and downs, even a noble city isn't worth staying in forever.” The boy would say all of sudden full of energy and seemingly more excited than before the conversation had started.
This excitement would soon turn to complete confusion as the waitress came up and spoke. Fell would look from her to rat, and back, and forth a few times until staring at rat. Rat had stammered out a response of her own and seemingly waited for Fell, as did the waitress. To be honest, Fell barely even knew what courting was until recently after he became a knight. It was a struggle learning things about couples and women since his mother had never really explained it too well. From what Fell had gathered it was when two people were together, with the intention of getting married at some point. Which TERRIFIED the boy for way too many reasons. Fell was still only holding a face of confusion, one who had heard the conversation knowing of the truth may have been confused themselves as to why he wasn't embarrassed or red as a tomato. Instead it was just a blank look of confusion.
But he responded. “Uhm, no I don't think so. We kinda just met today, I was hungry and asked for company I guess. She said yes.” Fell had an idea, he wasn't un-attracted to the girl across from him by any means, but he also wasn't used to this sort of thing. Now though, he wanted to show the girl that he wasn't just a weirdo, but someone who could have fun. “Why’d you ask though...think we would be cute together…?” Fell looked at the waitress and back at Rat, holding a still fairly blank and serious expression. While he had meant it as a joke, Fell wanted to play it off seriously just to mess with the two of them. To be fair to the boy, this was his first effort at really joking too much. He needed to get better at it...
