[attr="class","florencetext"] Lydia had to wake up an hour or two early than she normally did as of late. She got word from the captain she was actually getting sent on a mission today. It had been a while since she did an actual mission sure she had explored the new training dungeons a few days before but missions were different. It wasn't the same as going into a dungeon were you just had to get rid of everything inside. Missions had rules they needed to be followed which the glass mage didn't mind to much. After getting dressed for the day in her normal outfit she would make her way into her office to get some paperwork done before she had to head out. After all the pink haired mage knew that captain wasn't going to do any and she didn't want to get to behind on the paperwork after all she liked to keep everything nice and organized. After an hour and half or work she would stop what she was doing to look back over the mission she was given. It was fairly simple all she had to do with a fellow knight from the black bulls was head to Hage and help a family get rid of some flying cats. However it seemed they also weren't able to hurt them as it was close to being endangered. It would make dealing with the problem a tad bit harder but she could run fast so she wasn't to worried about actually getting hit by a spell which is why she figured Ardere sent her on this mission. Grabbing her mantle she would throw it own before heading to the spatial mage and having them open a portal to the down. The real pain of this mission was going to be getting back the base after it was done. Sure getting there would be fast but she didn't have a portal to get back to the place and it was a long ways away even for someone as fast as she was known to be. [break][break] Stepping out of the portal and into the town she would stand still for a moment looking up at the sky. It was a nice warm and sunny day luckily it wasn't to hot that it was unbearable to be outside. Lydia would then make her way to the spot were her and the other mage were suppose to meet up based on the mission information that captain gave her. It seemed the pinked haired mage was the first of the two to arrive. She didn't mind after all she didn't expect the other mage to take to much longer so while she was waiting she would pull out her pack of cigarettes and matches before lighting one and putting the pack back into her pocket.

Rosalia raised an eyebrow at her naked reflection in the mirror. The blueish mark of teeth that she had found on her left shoulder this morning was nontraditional for her. She never allowed for bite-marks on her body before. They held a claim to them that made her stomach turn.
The beauty didn’t belong to any man, and wasn’t planning on belonging to one for the coming years (or ever, really). Yet, considering the circumstances of yesterday, there was nothing she could do but bite him back. How could she not? Fuck.
The woman walked into the bathroom with a yawn. Her pale hands turned the faucets of the shower on, letting the room heat up from the steam as she brushed her teeth. She had decided to go on a mission today, one that had caught her eye and made her inner magic nerd scream “THIS ONE!” She winced at the way the hot water interacted with the bite-mark as she stepped under the man-made current. It wasn’t a pleasant sensation.
Conserving a species of wild scorpion cats! It sounded lame to most, but Rosalia was the type to get excited about mana beasts. She found them to be fascinating creatures, more powerful than regular animals with some even being capable of using magic. Were dragons considered mana beasts? She paused as she shampooed her hair. Probably. Scorpion Cats definitely were...an ancient species from around the time of Leosaurs. Dark-colored cats with giant bat wings and venomous tails like those of a scorpion. They were dangerous if angered; predatory animals that, despite having a taste for meat and enjoying the hunt, could also survive off of fruits. It was a shame that they were endangered, and being able to personally ensure their safety made Rosalia smile. She was told she’d be doing the mission alongside the new Vice Captain of the Crimson Lions when she showed her Captain what she’d picked out. It made her…curious.
This person, this woman ( from what she’d heard as rumors) was Silas Vermillion’s replacement. The person who was supposed to take the spot of her late best friend. She narrowed her eyes as she wrapped a towel around her body and walked over to the wardrobe. Water dripped along the floor from her long crimson hair, but as she opened her closed, she didn’t care. The floor of the Black Bulls base was wooden. It would survive.
Picking out her traditional black latex and leather bodysuit, the woman slipped it over her hot body, sighing pleasantly at the fit. The fact that it had boots and a bra attached to it made her life so much easier. She’d only had to throw on underwear beforehand.
Moving the towel over her head to rub out the water from her hair, she glanced at herself in the mirror again. Nothing was visible. There was no proof of the bite-mark. It made her sigh in relief as she tied her Black Bulls mantle over her shoulders. No proof at all.
After throwing some gloss on, Rosalia headed down the stairs to where she expected to find their squad’s assigned transportation mage. Said male, whose name she still didn’t know, just gave her a knowing smile as she approached. He was used to the clicking of her heels towards him by now. And she was used to him being competent enough to take her to the location she needed. It was an interaction with benefits to both. The woman always gave him a kiss on the cheek at the end.
As she stepped out of the portal, her ruby hues immediately landed on her unmistakable partner. The witch didn’t know what she was expecting, in all honesty. For one, she didn’t expect a female. For two, she didn’t expect someone that she could easily get a job at a modeling magazine for. Damn.
Her smoking habit didn’t really deter the red-head from bowing to the Crimson Lion’s Vice Captain politely. Malcolm smoked on occasion, and so had most of her model friends. She’d gotten used to it.
“I hope I didn’t keep you waiting too long, Lady Ravencrest. I’m Rosalia, your partner for the day.” It was a pretty last name. It rolled off of her glossy lips nicely. She glanced at their surroundings for the house where their mission was located, and noted one with a particularly large back yard. It made her raise an eyebrow.
“Shall we? Having rare creatures nest at a Hunter’s back garden sounds like nature was just playing with fire.” The woman noted as she motioned for the Vice-captain to lead the way. It was only polite; after all, the Ravencrests were a powerful noble family. She would follow after the other beauty and let her take the lead with the Hunter family. The Lions were more respected than the Bulls were.
[attr="class","florencetext"] As Lydia was finishing her cigarette her sensory would pick up on another mage appearing to to far from her. She'd take on last drag of her cancer stick before using her light magic to turn the rest of it into dust letting it blow away with the wind. The glass mage would then turn to face the other mage who she figured would be man as most magic knights she worked with were male unless they were from the blue rose squad. However Lydia tended not to work with them they always went on about how someone as good looking as her should be a rose and not a lion or something along those lines. She could quite remember what they told her as she would always zone them out. However much to her surprise it was a fellow female magic knight who looked very attractive and her outfit left little to the mind. The vice captain would curse in her a head little as she had to remind herself not to flirt with her after all they need to be someone formal on this mission. As Rosalia spoke Lydia would give her a small smile. You can call me Lydia or if you prefer the more formal way of doing things vice captain Ravencrest works as well. I also just got here not to long ago myself. Lydia would take a moment to think about the last time she actually went by it had to over been at least three months if not more perhaps it was because of Silas' memories or that fact she got vice captain. Either way it didn't matter much to the pink haired mage it was in the past. [break][break] As she lead the two of them to the door and knocked twice a man would answer the door he was massive as one would expect from a farm hand and stood at least two heads taller than the two female knights and it seemed as if the man had already started drinking. "Oh great they sent two women to help with the problem. So you guys are going to kill the shits right." She would let out a sigh at the mans comment. No we aren't here to kill them our higher ups told us they were endangered and we are to just drive them away. "Great so not only did they send women to do a mans job but you also aren't even killing them. Your higher ups probably didn't even say that the two of you are just two weak to do. I have half the mind to not even pay you for the job after all it's not like they won't come back." While Lydia was normally calm and collected she was still a lion so she had a fiery personality which the man would soon find out as she step up to him. [break][break] Look here you bastard we could kill them if that was our job but it's not and you will treat us with respect or I'll let them destroy your shitty farm. Now if you are done bitching you'll show us to the nest. The man would take a step back at the vice captains words and would simply lead them to the close to the nest before heading back inside. Lydia would then turn to face the black bull. Well I have a plan for how to deal with this we get them to run into the forest. I can piss them out and get them to follow me while you use your magic to funnel them deeper into the place. Unless that doesn't work for you?

The woman preferred the Vice-Captain title over her noble one? Rosalia smiled a little to herself. She had won some points in her book with that statement. As the pair headed over to the wooden cabin of the hunters, the ice witch would stand a little bit further behind Lydia to watch how she dealt with the poor-mannered dimwit that inhabited it. A burly man, opened the door, and eyed them both with a grin that made her blood freeze over. Oh no… As if to further emphasize her fears, the very first thing that the slacker did was comment on their gender, letting his alcohol-ridden breath carry all the way back to Rosalia’s nose. It made her ruby eyes narrow. The Crimson Lions’ Vice Captain tried to calmly explain the situation to the man, who immediately scoffed at the fact that they weren’t murdering the rare animals. Oh…the ex-model wanted to barge in there and give him a piece of her mind…in her own cold and cruel way. [break][break] Lydia Ravencrest, however, was no Rosalia, as her temper seemed to have peaked even worse than the red-head’s had. The noblewoman stepped forwards and let the hunter have a piece of her mind, using words unorthodox for a lady of her status. One could practically hear a jaguar roaring as she spoke. And it made the Black Bull want to raise her hands and clap. That was one way of dealing with a misogynistic male. A way better alternative to the way she had wanted to make him pee his pants (by spearing him to a wall by his clothes and threatening his dick, he probably had such a small one she’d miss it no matter how close she stabbed). When the idiot moved into his house, seemingly shaking in his boots, the Lioness would turn to Rosalia and voiced what she had as a plan. It wasn’t a bad idea, there was just one problem.
“Giant Scorpion Cats are mountain dwellers. They prefer living in the high up where they can watch for their prey, so I don’t know how they would fare in the forest…frankly, it makes sense that they wanted to nestle on the hill of this jackass’ house.” The red-head explained as she walked into the shack and glanced out of the window towards the next of animals. A large beautiful cat lay at the center, its tail surrounding three adorable kittens that were feeding from her bosom. She was being protective, like a good mother. [break][break]
“Oi, is there a large high rock formation or mountain anywhere close to here?” Rosalia would bark suddenly as she turned to the drunken idiot who had sad down on a nice leather couch. He eyed her for a moment silently, as if to calculate whether he could get away with insulting her again before finally answering “Yeah, there’s a sudden escarpment about 700 meters into the forest where a bunch of rocks suddenly jut out and the trees are incredibly high at the edge.” [break][break]
That was, Rosalia looked at Lydia, surprisingly helpful. An escarpment wasn’t a bad rock formation for a predator with giant wings to live at, and the giant trees provided a potential safe nesting ground. Perhaps Lydia’s idea would work after all. [break][break]
“What direction is the escarpment in?” [break][break]
“North.” Ah, a one-word answer. The witch’s favorite. They could pinpoint that direction simply by looking at the sun. That wasn’t the hard part…getting a whole family of these things to move was going to be complicated… [break][break]
“Vice-Captain Ravencrest…would it be possible for one of us to steal the nest, with the cubs in it, and make the mother-cat chase us to the rock formation? We could put the nest on a larger branch at the top of the trees and then leave before she arrives?” The woman bit the inside of her cheek after she voiced her idea. It was easier said and done. One of them would first have to manage to get the giant cat outside of her nest. And that was going to be a task of enormous proportions in itself. [break][break]
“Are you fast?” Rosalia turned to the Lioness and asked curiously as the plan still formulated in her head.
[attr="class","florencetext"] It seemed Lydia's little knowledge on the mana beast would come into play as the Rosa told the crimson lion vice captain that the mana beast tend to life in the mountains. Which when the glass mage thought about it made sense. As the two made there way inside the mans house Lydia would look at the window at the nest as well. However as the black bull mage started to speak to the man about if there was a rock formation or mountain close by Lydia would look at the man. She could tell just by the way he was looking at the two of them he was planning on insulting them. The vice captain would just give him a cold gaze that said go ahead and say something. While the man wasn't smart it seems he wasn't dumb enough to try his luck anymore than he already had and actually started to help the two magic knights by answering the questions. seven hundred meters was a lot for most mages however Lydia wasn't most mages and could come that in less than a minute. [break][break] Well if she was just running without worrying about anything else that is which wasn't the case this time. Lydia would look of toward the north planning out a path they could take seeing as that was most likely the way they were going to lead the scorpion cats before turning back to Rosalia and smiling. It could work depending on how fast the one of us carrying the nest was. One of us would also have to slow the mother down without hurting her so the other could set up the nest and get away in time. If it's fine with you I can take the nest and run after all I'm pretty fast if you could slow down the mana beast by throwing spells near it so it can't run in a straight line that should give me enough time to set up the nest. Assuming that the red haired mage was fine with that plan Lydia would make her way outside and towards the nest casting a spell before getting to close however. Light Magic: Vidar As the light magic coated her legs increasing hr speed she would start getting closer to the nest. The mother cat however moved fast than the lion thought it would and managed to jump back just in time to avoid it's tail striking her eye however it did manage to cut just bellow her eye. Thanks to her mana skin however it stop any real harm from coming to her other than a small cut under her right eye. The mother would then try and jump at her striking the the vice captain wit it's claws. However now that Lydia knew how fast it was she managed to roll out of the way in time quickly getting to her feet. At this point Rosa would hopefully be able to distract it long enough for Lydia to grab the nest and take off running.

The red-head was surprised when the previously intimidating Vice-Captain of the Crimson Lions smiled at her softly. It was a completely different side of the beauty that she hadn’t seen yet. She was pretty when she smiled. Fortunately, as Rosalia listened, it seemed that Lydia had taken a liking to her plan of dealing with the giant scorpion cats. She proposed that she be the one running ahead with the next of little kittens, while the Black Bull mage distracted the mother. It was risky, but it was definitely worth a try. [break][break] “Alright.” She sighed as she tied her head up with a scrunchie, trying to keep her crimson mane out of the way as much as possible throughout this upcoming complex situation. It was going to be a fucking pain in the ass, that’s what it was going to be. With a gloved hand, she pulled the leather strap on her thigh open and took out her grimoire, wondering what to do with it. How could she slow down or distract a giant beat without pissing it off so either of them have to face Hades in the underworld? Rosalia followed on Lydia’s heels and watch as she felt her magical presence flair up. [break][break] Light Magic? Her ruby eyes widened. She had always wanted to see that. It was famous in the mythos for being powerful and for being the element that a previous wizard king had used thousands of years ago. This woman…had that? Rosalia’s inner magic nerd practically jumped with joy. She would have to drag Lydia Ravencrest to a bar after their mission and ask her all about it. Hopefully the woman wouldn’t mind a drink or two? (Mostly because the Black Bull wizardess was very much the type to get completely smashed after every mission, sometimes even taking a man home with her). [break][break] Lydia approached the nest, but the mother was quick to respond, and a cold shiver ran down Rosalia’s spine when she saw where the beastie had aimed to hit. The eyes were an extremely sensitive region for any creature, and it was clear by that the mother cat was ready to kill to protect her cubs. As the animal jumped back towards the Vice Captain for a second strike, the Black Bull member would pour her mana into her grimoire and murmur “Ice Magic: Frostbite,” under her breath, quickly creating a long and intricately carved whip of black ice. She could create a second one if she wanted to, but for now she decided that one was satisfactory, as she swung the weapon right between the mother cat and Lydia. A loud echoing sound of leather would ring through the air as Rosalia tilted her head and pulled her whip back with ease. [break][break] “Hello beastie.” She gave the cat a toothy grin, as she wrapped the loose ice-leather around her arm. Her eyes widened when it did, indeed, turn towards her. She barely had the time to say “Fuck” out loud as the creature leaped towards her, tail aiming for her eyes. Flicking her whip out at a nearby tree, Rosalia pulled herself away just before creature stabbed her. She was hoping that Lydia would be done picking up the nest soon. As the ferocious feline made another leap for her, which she tried hiding behind the tree for, and watched with pure horror as the tail stabbed right through the wood and just to the side of her head. Fucking hell. [break][break] The little kittens would give an outcry once they were picked up by the beautiful Lioness, as she was a stranger to them, and the ice witch would let out another curse as she saw the dangerous animal turn its attention immediately back to the little ones. In the meantime Rosalia would cast her "Wings of Winter" spell on herself, so she would be able to follow in the chase that she realized was about to occur. What a nightmare. As the mother cat pulled her tail out of the log, the beauty would attempt to use her whip to wrap it around the animal and keep it at bay for a bit longer, but the thing flew up in the air, making her loosely miss. Shit. Hopefully Lydia had poofed with the nest already. [break][break]

[attr="class","florencetext"] The plan was going great not only did Rosa managed to distract the mother giving the pink haired mage time to pick up the nest. The mana beast also got stuck in a tree giving Lydia a nice head start not the she had to worry about it catching her but it was still nice to have some extra breathing room. The vice captain however was glad to have the creature following her now after all that meant she didn't have to worry about the mana beast attacking and possibly even killing her. After the half way point the glass mage would stop taking a moment to look back making sure the mother followed her all the way. However it was at this time Lydia was able to sense three wolves who'd waste no time going for an attack. She was of course able to easily avoid it with her speed however it was made clear the attack was aimed for the smaller weaker cats. Normally the glass mage would take her time to deal with them without wasting to much of her own mana however she didn't time on her side today and would cast one of her stronger spells to get it over with quickly. [break][break] Glass Magic: Spear of Longinus Seeing as Lydia's hands were full she would let the spear appear next to her before using her control she would make two more spears before sending one at each of the wolves who had to hope of avoiding the attack. The spears would hit the beast in the side going all the way through them killing them. After the wolves were dealt with Lydia would take off running again not stopping till she reached the place the man spoke about. Seeing as the vice captain arrived first it gave her time to get the nest setup in a safe place. As the mother and Rosa came into view Lydia would signal for the red haired mage to follow her before moving about one hundred meters to the west so that the mother wouldn't attack the two of them.

Lydia had indeed moved forwards with no issue, and thank fucking god for that. It meant that the red-head had done her job in keeping the giant mother scorpion cat at bay for long enough. But as it unfurled its large bat wings and turned to fly after the woman, Rosalia realized that the thing was fast. Too fast for her to be able to keep up with it. Fuck. As she tried to follow him with her transportation spell it became obvious that she was quickly falling behind. What the heck could she do? What if Lydia had slowed down after a while and was taking a break? 700 meters wasn’t a quick one-two-go run for normal people (Not that Rosalia didn’t know that Lydia wasn’t exactly normal, but at that point she wasn’t quite aware of the woman’s true power). [break][break] Thinking fast, the woman did the one thing she could think of doing as she glided through the air about 30 meters behind the beast, throw one of her Wings of Winter spells on it and try to counteract some of its speed with her own. It was a risky thing to do, but it seemed to have worked as the Mother Scorpion Cat was straining harder but moving slower. The red-head actually managed to catch up with it. [break][break] But she saw the expression on the face of the animal. There was pure determination in that feline’s green eyes, and it made something in her heart clench. Shit. She was probably thinking the worst…that they had murdered her children or were trying to take them away from her. At this time she wished Malcolm was here. Being able to potentially transform into one of these animals would’ve helped because it would’ve provided with some ability to converse with them. But that wasn’t the case, and now a member of the endangered species was stressing about the survival of its children. [break][break] Rosalia shook her head. They were doing this for the benefit of this species. The stress was necessary. Better this than to be slaughtered by hunters and have their fur used for expensive boots in fashion week while everything else gets sold on the black market for some weird potion bullshit. The beauty steeled her resolve just in time to spot the bodies of several either passed out or damaged wolves. It seemed that Lydia had a little bit of trouble in the forest, but the situation wasn’t too horrible. She couldn’t see her ally hurt anywhere on the floor, so everything seemed to be going according to plan for the most part. [break][break] The Scorpion cat growled suddenly, attracting the Black Bull member’s attention back to it, making her eyes widen as she barely managed to catch it seconds away from having its strong scorpion tail break the wings she’d attached to it. Shit. So not only were they dangerous, they were also highly intelligent. And they could smell Lydia from hundreds of Lydia away, even if Rosalia had managed to catch the woman in view barely for a few seconds. What amazing animals. [break][break] The giant feline would reach the edge of the forest before the beauty could catch up with it. She’d scan the area immediately for any sign of Lydia, and spot the next with the kittens safely secured atop the branches of the largest tree. Thank god. She’d catch the Crimson Lion’s Vice Captain motion for her to follow after her and would do so without question. Her ruby eyes would glance back to watch the mother reunite with her kittens and seemingly check them for any injuries before glancing back at the pair of Magic Knights. She wasn’t following them right now, but they seemed to be moving a safe distance away so that even the mother’s scent would have a hard time finding them immediately. Lydia had the right idea. Working with her had been pleasant and easy. [break][break] Once they were far away enough, the ex-model would give the pink-haired woman a grin. [break][break] “Well you made this easier than I ever would’ve managed to do on my own. I don’t know if I should be grateful to your captain or to you for having you come along.” Rosalia would giggle as she rubbed the back of her head. She would glance back behind them nervously and shiver gently. Thinking about pissing off a mana beast as dangerous as that one was…well, it probably wasn’t gonna keep her up at night, but she’d definitely have something to think about on her way back to the base. [break][break] “I…I’m gonna need a drink when I get back to the base because that was…it could’ve gone very poorly in a few places.” She shook her head and met the gaze of the Lioness before giving her a ferocious grin. Well, Vice Captain of the Crimson Lions or not, the Black Bull’s witch would extent and invitation out. [break][break] “You’re free to join me if you’d like.” [break][break] [Exit]

[attr="class","florencetext"] Lydia didn't have to wait long for Rosa and the mana beast to show up. Which was good as it meant that the mother had focused on following the vice captain instead of trying to attack the crimson haired women. As the black bull mage made her way over to Lydia she'd give the ice mage a soft smile. Well I guess you could thank the captain he's the one who sent me here I just simply went were he told me to. As she was invited to the black bulls base for a drink Lydia would think about it for a moment. It's not like she needed to rush to get back to the base after all the mission went by a lot faster than she thought it would. Sure I can't say no to a women as charming as yourself. Lydia would then stop sustaining her spells and follow the black bull mage back to her base for a few drinks.
