Chishio would pick up her axe. She’d swing the wooden handle with ease and would approach a thin tree.


‘How much wood did he want?’ she couldn’t recall, ‘I just tap down a five and head on back before it gets to dark,’ she mentally decided. And so, Chishio officially went to work. She’d take a good hold of the ax and swing horizontally, right in the middle of the trunk and would hear a blunt yet, piercing sound. The metal of the ax cutted almost through but she needed to use enough force if she really wanted a good result. So, she did it again, and again, and again, and well, again. As a young female it’d take some time, but the first tree got cut down. She’d then whack off the leaves attached to branches. This way, she could make some crooked and asymmetrical lumber to place on the cart. Besides, she couldn’t take the majority of the tree with her.
Chishio would hop over the stump of the tree, where it was recently still alive, and went over to the next. 4 more to go. She’d decided she’d give the broom maker enough not only for herself, but others as well.


Chishio in the next several moments would keep hacking down trees. The only time she stopped or took a break is a momentary one between swings. She’d inhale and exhale as she chopped and put her back into it. She wanted to be done. This was her workout for the day for sure.



As she walked back to the broom maker’s home it was only an hour or two for the sun to set. It was time to head back to the Golden Dawn base and rest. He’d greet her, clearly pleasant and excited that she had helped him. He was an older man after all, it was probably difficult to chop trees down on your own at his age. Though, she did not choose to vocalize a thought after all. That’d be a bit rude.


Then the man would travel to the back. As expected, Chishio knew he’d make her a simple broom. The woman would wait impatiently, eager to try it out. She never rode one before, but had seen a multitude of different mages ride them consistently all the time. They didn’t drain too much mana and were healthy to use in terms of regeneration. Or so, this what she heard.


Time would go by and Chishio would wait approximately another hour, and sighed. The man was occupied and couldn’t tell her annoyance from so far away. He was giving her a gift and she decided to try to remain neutral or positive as much as possible. But she also wanted to go home as soon as possible.

Eventually, the man would arrive with several brooms, but he’d hand her a wooden aesthetic one. It wasn’t painted a strange color, so it was fine to her.

“Thank you for all your help Chi, this is for you!” and with that the man handed her a new broom. How nice, finally, it was over, “I’m grateful you brought so much wood. You are free to come by at any time just to relax!” and with that Chishio gave a genuine smile. After having another small talk conversation, Chishio saw it best to leave. Even as a Knight, someone capable of defending herself, she just didn’t enjoy walking alone home if not having a goal.


The woman would leave the broom maker’s home with a small wave and not look back. She’d twist her broom like a baton before hopping on it and would head home.



Chishio was glad to do something good- even if she was paid with recognition and yul. Though, it was time to head off. Besides, she was ready for her next adventure.
