Soon after the conclusion of the speeches and gone were the demonstrations of magical prowess to the Magic Knight Captains. There was time to kill and mingle with the various wizards who came far and wide and many of them varied and presented a huge range of opponents Alexander wanted to fight. Counting the various people he saw go up was indeed a deciding factor as he looked on in a quiet amusement.
“Oh-ho? Some of these magics seem dangerous to take on in my current state..’, he thought as each one went up.
It was less him wanting to display his power and more him wanting to test his luck against stronger opponents. The superficial things like winning or losing never mattered to him until it became unavoidable circumstances. Each loss that he lives through eventually makes him stronger as each one holds a lesson in his eyes. There will always be people stronger than him but it doesn't mean he can’t try at least.
Though losing in front of a bunch of captains and doing his usual habit of learning may reflect badly on the people he’s trying to join. Then again maybe they would enjoy the type of Magic Knight who has moxie and guts even in defeat. Who knows? But the point is that Alex was weighing his options right now as there are many things he wants to try and see. His spell techniques on an actual opponent, where he stands, magic skill wise and various other deals that become mindless details in the long run. More or less using this exam to test his abilities himself rather than get judged for what he is right now. Merely viewing it as his own stepping stone for his growth and not something to stake his entire life on right now. The Magic Knight Title is nothing more than a bonus for his hard work if he gets in.
But for right now, he has some scores to settle as he finds the green hair lady who bumped into him earlier. Her magic was demonstrated and it made him mighty curious to say the least as he wondered what she did to him earlier. Yes, it was a bit presumptuous to think she did something but call it instinct because everything happens for a reason. He walked up to the lady with a nonchalant aura around him as he simply called out to her as one would call someone on a stroll.
“Oi, what exactly did you do when you bumped into me?”, it wasn't the best opener but if she answers something that isnt ‘I dont know what you're talking about then something must be up.
Azure had just gotten done with her display of power and was now waiting around for those she was meant to drag on a mission to show up and meet her, but for now this left her alone with her thoughts wondering if she was gonna be able to get some people into a spar with her or not figuring everyone else applying was much too weak to even think about battling. However her thought was cut short when the red haired man from before called out to her, in her standing up he had already gotten close enough that it would be troublesome to try and leave away.
Instead she turned to face the man with an annoyed look as she stands, being a fair amount shorter than him but still speaking down on him “And who the hell are you supposed to be? OH I bumped you did I? I must not have noticed. I mean who would notice when they step on an ant?” she kept her hands on her hips as she spoke to him. However he proved some potential if she could goad him into fighting her in spite of their obvious gap in power he did look the type to get aggressive easily enough so this should be fun.
“Now then, if you don't mind, I have better things to do than speak to dung, goodbye.” she gave a short giggle as she started to try and walk past him and intentionally bump him as she did. That is if he did not stop her from going past.

‘Oh so she is the sharp tongued type’, is what Alexander thought as she gave him a rather charming response to his question. He knew this was gonna be the case from the moment he saw her and how she spoke. But he kept his cool nonetheless as he met types like this on the road. Common theme is being more abrasive and cocky to get their way rather than directly stating it. Common with con artists and the occasional lordling who has nothing better to do with their day.
But considering the place he was at, she may have the strength to back up her words from what he recalls from her display. Though he doesn't remember much due to her height, stature and overall personality being as charming as a locust on a hot summer day. So he kept his normal expression as he pushed aside like he is used to but he had some words for say to her in response to that.
“Oh don’t let me keep you away any longer your majesty, would you like another spell you’d like to steal in payment or do you prefer stealing bread that has fallen on the floor, hm?”, saying it without missing a beat as the sarcasm is potent in his tone. His pose was more a mockery of one of those announcers some nobles would have to boost their ego. If she takes the bait then he won but if she doesn't then no foul is done. But let's see how much pride actually has if she lets this sort of comment fall through the cracks.
Azure paused as she heard the man throw his own bit of insult her way upon pushing through him, calling out the theft but also seeming to compare it to stealing bread from on the ground, all and all she felt it was not the best attempt to insult her made thus far, but it was better than the things some people could muster up.
Still she turned to face him with her standard glare as she spoke “Well. At least you know in what way to compare your spells to mine. Bread that has fallen on the floor and gotten all gross is definitely a good description for you and your spells.” she slowly moved closer again as she spoke “But see, unlike yourself I have the power to back up any insult I care to give someone, you are like an ant trying to pick a fight with an anteater.”
She took a pause for now a grin slowly spread on her face, her arms crossing “Well, how about this. Because these exams let us spar with one another to show off ‘strength’ i'll let you fight me, then it will let you use all you can on me and let me put you in your place and show you how far the gap really is for you and it will show why you might as well leave the exam considering how weak you really are.” to her he did not seem the type to resist a fight when the opportunity so graciously presented itself, so she was rather sure he would accept and she would have the pleasure of crushing him.

“Nice of you to say considering you are one who picked up set bread...and to be fair the height differences here make that comparison apt for what I'm looking at here”, he retorted as the oh so graceful thief decided to give him the time of day. He kept his wits about him as he started to get a familiar look in her eye as she sp[oke to him. She was of course playing into that type well as suggesting a sparring session.
“Yes. Yes. I’ll take you up on that offer...on the grounds that if I land one hit on you, then its your loss. I trust you agree with that term with how strong you are...unless you’re scared of that”, he trots around her as he wasn't taking her seriously. He knows she's strong from her demonstration but he has a few tricks up his sleeve to even the odds at least. But knowing this one from what he saw, he could be in biting off more than he could chew. A good poker case is the only thing keeping him afloat as he turned his back on her to get ready for the impromptu sparring match. His bravado and attitude overpowering his sense of nervousness as he took each step
He takes the time to walk a fair distance away as he stretches before turning the thief with a rather excited expression. People were looking at them but he was fixated on seeing what he can do against the copycat. The one thing is for certain, punching her is going to be a possibility he cant avoid.
Azure kept a glare focused on the man as he retorted her insult just a bit, but she did not mind it or well care about his reply in it all that mattered was he chose to accept the challenge of a duel as she smuggly figured he would. However he gave a caveat that he only needed to land a hit on her something she fully agreed to do, from the spells she took one of them being a way to enhance her body she knew full well that he was gonna try to out speed her however she had a nice trick on the sleeve for that.
“Alright it's a deal then, try to keep up!” she laughed as she got into position for the dueling to start half skipping each step away before turning to face him, her grimoire already out floating next to her glowing with power “BEGIN!” she yelled as water rushed from her spacy colored book quickly taking form “Hylla! Ascend!” she commanded with the cast of her spell as she grabbed hold of the forming water and rode it skyward as it formed into that of a 16 ft long water serpent, but not just one was made, but eleven! Seems when Azure did her demonstration she held back quite a bit on the golem front she did this because she could not make enough arrows to attack all the golems at once like she did in her display.
She now laughs a bit as she hangs out on her watery golem sitting comfortably in the air while the other ten moved in on the lighting boy’s location at a slow pace but still with this many and such large creations it might be fairly hard for him to outmaneuver even if he does outspeed. “I wonder if one attack is all it will take for you to go down!” She is clearly very pleased with herself

Alexander's eyes fell to Azure as she seemed almost giddy to get started. He shared the same sentiment as he took a fighting stance. A part of him doesn't know how fights like these go since most of his time was spent fighting hoodlums. Battles against mages seem simple enough as one has to just focus on beating down the opponent like its no big deal. ‘Lightning Road’, he say as electricity started to surge around his body. He can feel the speed coming but he kept a cool head as his opponent was as strong as she says as she brought forth a monster...or several from what it looks like.’Seems like she wants to make an example out of me’, he thought for a moment as he counted each one himself. But he knows what he can do and his eyes lock onto a target..
His expression doesn't change but he smirks a bit as he sized her up, “I assume you stole that spell as well?”, he remarked as he looked at the creatures dead on. There she sits on her high horse with no viable way of getting to her….but that is what a coward would think. No he takes a runner's stance and looks at the golems slowly approaching him. ‘How about you actually make a move before you say that sort of thing!”, he exclaimed as he used his speed to rush around the group of serpents as he looks for a path towards Azure. His fist is clenched as he sped up his pace.

Azure kept rising on up into the air enough to be on out of the range for the boy as well as still being in range to be commanding her golems to go on the attack, this she is around 19ish meters in the air, having her other golems stay lower to the ground just because she wanted to make sure he did not try anything like climbing onto the golems to run at her because she honestly figured he would have the kind of dumbass energy to try it.
“Oh this? No no actually it was given to me willingly by one of the upper members of Green Mantis! Rather good aren't they? Here ill show you another then” she had to of course be a bit loud to be heard over the golems who she now ordered to move in on the attack on him trying to assault him, they were rather slow moving so she was using this to try and limit his ability to run around.
Now water welled over her book again flowing out into azures waiting hands as she stood on her golem “Aphrodite!” and a bow of water formed in her hand, the mage pulling back the watering string, as she does three arrows form, the arrows being rather hard to spot, as in needing ninety-eight sensory to see. She then fires off the arrows at the boy, the arrows being very fast around forty five meters per second. If the arrow hit a solid surface it would explode into needles of water, and if hit by the arrow the boy would be blinded!
Azure was not sure how the captains might think of her going all out on this guy, but she wanted to show no mercy, she was here to show off how powerful she is and also hopped now holding back would show she was not in fact underestimating the boy, even though she was very sure of the fact he was much weaker she still did not chance it.

The Bow itself can be used in a physical fight, though its main use is for ranged combat. The arrows can either pierce an enemy, or it it hits solid materials like ground or walls, it bursts into sharp water needles that hits in an AOE manner. At first hit, opponents are blinded by the water that hits their eyes. The blind effect only happens once per opponent. The arrows, as well, are coated with an illusion, making them very hard to see, hear, and detect with mana, and finally are able to home in on their intended target because of the user's Sensory. Those hit by the spell will also have their sensory debuffed, following on debuff rules.[break]

Alexander would of course keep his wits about him as he saw the serpents coming his way. But it wasn't the end of his troubles as he soon realizes what sort of situation he got himself into. His opponent seems rather more vain than she let on as he doesn't believe that sort of thing as a fact that she can be gifted spells like this. But he also can feel something coming, an unseen sense of danger as he moved faster and faster as he kept his eyes trained on Azure. But the gap between her calling the bow and doing something was way too short as he felt something hit him without delay.
One hit was enough to put him on edge as he quickly quickly felt something hit his body as he ran. he looked head as he dashed towards a nearby pillar and ducked behind it. Two shots were made obvious as they left their mark on the pillar as he narrowly avoided getting slammed by the two attacks. Downside is the severe lack of vision he has now as a result of eating that one hit. But he kept his head up as he went with his base instinct as he got ready.
It would have shaken up a lesser fighter but he was more intrigued than anything else. “I assume you did something...but copying a few spells doesn't make you no master at using them..”, he remarked as he ran out from cover and got faster as he started to search for an opening in her defenses. He was moving at about 23 mph with the momentum he was building and he was only to get faster. He’d pause at random intervals to throw her off , not actual attacks but just seeing how she reacts. He knows he is outclassed in every way but he wanted to at least see how much she keep face in the face of a bunch of captains.
“What was that about showing me your true strength? All I see is a princess who is just imitating other people and failing to land a proper blow on a moving target!"

Azure after hitting she would of course move to land now her golems dropping, she had let this gone on long enough and done enough entertainment towards him, it was time to wrap this up, she just called out to him “OI that it, we are finished here, wasted enough time as is anyway.” as she moved to walk away from him, just moving to leave the area for now to to wait on something else.
Azure did have fun kicking the ass of someone weaker than her, not that it was a fair fight, and really it might just make him look better for trying to go after her, but she did not worry about that much, she was just glad to be done with it. Azure had the suspicion that would not be the last she sees of him during her attempts into magic knights, she just hoped it would go over well enough.
