The air was filled with the stench of sea water and fish, a certain smell that Valo wasn't really used to. He walked through the town his nose scrunched up obviously trying to block the smell. The smell wasn't bad some may have found it pleasant, but this wasn't the case for the young mage perhaps it was because he wasn't a huge fan on fish. The smell of them nor the taste, now that he thought about it he didn't even really like looking at them. He thought they had such weird looking faces and structures. He walked pass many many stalls all serving and selling the same creepy looking fish. Valo looked at one with huge buggy slimy eyes, dead of course but that only added to the repulsiveness for him.
He quickly took hold of his new green mantis cloak, it being much longer reaching the bottom of his calves but unlike his winter cloak that heavy and made for cold weather this one was lightweight meant for a bit warmer weather. He had apart of his cloak in his right hand used it to block his nose from the stench, walking faster and faster to get away from the stall area. One would probably think he was being a bit to dramatic, but overall the scene was quite comical.
"This place, this place is horrific. Dead smelly fish everywhere!" Valo said trying to find an area free of vendors. He turned a couple of corners and finally found an area of free non rancid air. He took a few deep long breaths in and out, you could still smell the sea but overall the smell here was much better. He would grab hold of a free buck and lean over as if he was about to barf, at least imitating the motions
"This...this town is making me nauseous. The dead fish everywhere! They stink and it's unbearable!" Valo said still hunched over the bucket.
It was if Valo forgot he was on a new mission a pretty dangerous one in fact, him and his partner had to find a murderer. Who has been taking the life of young females quite disturbing in fact. The first point would be to search for clues of some kind, get a lead on who and where these murders take place. Find out what they can on what this murderer could possible look like and put him down as fast as possible. It was in the middle of the day though, so it was highly unlikely for a murder to take place now as most of them took place at night. But during this him Valo and his partner could ask around for clues and gather information before it hit night time. As soon as Valo could stop puking that is.
Fell was back in Raque, he quite liked the city. Much like the snowier parts of the kingdom it was different than his home village which didn't have a huge ocean or the mountains so places like this were nice. The place was busy too, always bustling with soldiers running around their armor clanking about, or merchants hollering here and there trying to make a living for themselves next to one of the busiest if not the busiest port in the kingdom. Needless to say it was lively and amazing. For one person that was.
Fell patted the puking Valo on the back. “Man you really gotta stop, we are supposed to be on a mission you can't be throwing up all over the place while we track down someone. It's really not that bad.” Fell said as he stepped back slightly as Valo let go another hurl into the bucket. Fell was dressed nicely again, ever since Valo had basically convinced him to look nicer he had taken it upon himself to at least keep a nicer cloak around him, of course the golden trimmed red crimson lions cloak always looked nice so that was basically the only upgrade he had ever made.
Fell looked around making sure no one was staring at the two. After all they were knights and it was probably not the best image for them to be seen puking in a bucket over some sort of sea sickness or the other, so of course Fell positioned himself to best block incoming eyes. Though it seemed like most people were far too busy to actually pay the duo any mind. Fell thought about the mission of the day while he waited for Valo. The two had traveled to the area, much shorter of a trip for Fell thankfully, but they traveled to the area and were supposed to be on a mission to save the city's women from being killed by some creepy old man, or at least Fell assumed he was creepy and old.
Fell didn't mind the city itself, he rather loved his travels of course and it almost always seemed the busier an area was the more there was to learn. Though he came on business and he was rather disgusted by their mission's target, it was unlikely this man was going to leave alive. Fell had gotten better at not killing, but this man was a murderer and a creepy one at that and in the end Fell couldn't stand people like that. But he had to stay under control until the fight at least. So instead he focused now on his partner who seemed to be having a hard time with the sea. It was unlike the man to be in such dire straits, matter of fact it was the first time Fell had ever seen him in such a state, and in reality he was even worried about him and the mission if this was how he would be.
"Baaaaaauuuurrrrrggghhhhh" Valo let out a nauseating sound, ashe puked in the empty bucket. He looked up towards Fell his face looked absolutely miserable, but he was trying to pull himself together.
"I know Fell I know but fish has always made me sick, usually seeing just a few is fine. But in this town they're everywhere!" Valo shouted then going to puke in the bucket again. After a few minutes Valo managed to get back on his feet, standing but now just a little hunched over. Obviously not his usual confident self, but this didn't mean Valo wasn't going to give it his best shot anyway. He may not be at 100% but he was going to give all the effort he could. Especially considering the stakes of this job, compared to the other jobs him and Fell took this one was much more dangerous. Though so far nothing has passed the job he took with Artemis fighting some banshees, that one really pushed him past his limits.
Valo stood up straight and dropped the bucket. The look on his face was still nauseas, but now he looked much more better. "Ok ok let's get to work Fell." Valo said stretching his back. "This place stinks, but there's a job to do. So let's do it." Valo started to walk towards the guards main office it was probably best to get some answers there first.
"Lets head to the town guards main office, they probably have some info we can use on where to find this guy." As they walked over Valo would cover his nose again with his cloak the look of disgust still on his face. Seeing so many fish reminded him of the time his mom tried to get him to eat fish once, and he threw up on the spot. He didn't know what it was, but for some reason he couldn't stand the sight or smell of fish especially in large quantities.
Once they got to the main office building, Valo knocked on the door and as soon as the door opened Valo rushed in pushing past the guard. "W-w-were here to sol-sol-solve the murder cases." He struggled to get out, his hands on his knees again. He still looked nauseas but this time no puke, he just simply hunched over.
The main towns guard looked confused at first but proceeded to tell them the last locations of cases. "I-I see well then. We know the last reported cases were located in a alley way right by a large noble house towards the end of town. That was rather alarming for the psycho to strike so close to a noble house. But if you guys want to start your search anywhere it would be there." the guard said giving Valo a weird look, but given Valo's current condition he mostly addressed Fell when he spoke.

Fell rolled his eyes as Valo barfed more and more before mentioning how fish were something he simply couldn't handle. “Pretty sad you can fight a band of bandits but a couple fish puts you out for the count man.” Fell joked with his partner. It didn't take too terribly long for the man to regain his constitution enough for them to walk off in a direction that could give them results. Valo of course kept complaining on the way but Fell had already figured that would be the case after prior events so he was more or less only half paying attention the whole time. Fell did of course hear him mention the guards area and agreed so that their best course of action was probably trying to find some answers there.
The two arrived at the guard station, with Valo barely being able to get out a sentence before the guard began to speak seemingly directing it at Fell while eyeing his partner who had now hunched over wanting to hurl though refraining. “So he attacked near these houses, what time though, and we wouldn't happen to have any sort of description of this person by chance?” Fell asked, letting Valo get a hold of himself while Fell took the talking lead for once. “Sadly no one has lived to see what he looks like, but we know he attacks sometime at night.” The guard spoke to Fell helping out about as much as a seagull or one of those dead fish. “Thanks, we will just go check around the last attack location then.” Fell said as he turned to leave.
Fell made his way out of the building before speaking to Valo who he only assumed was following. “You would think that as guards they would have at least some sort of assistance to give to us almost ever, but no they just let anyone become a guard nowadays. This is why I like the knights.” Fell said slightly annoyed as he made his way towards the location. “I'm thinking we just wait around the alleys and watch for a suspicious guy, it's been a few days since his last attack and he had been doing so every few days almost like a pattern so he should try and attack again. If you can patrol the streets I can climb the roofs and look from above for a mana signature.” Fell said after the two had stopped. They had moved into the noble area further in from the sea, the smell of fish having faded made Fell hopeful his partner was going to be more helpful now as they made their way inland.

Valo listened clearly but didn't really have much to say, or better yet couldn't muster enough strength to get his words out. He figured just let Fell handle this one, that was his partner and becoming a really goof friend if he couldn't trust him he didn't know who to trust. Valo followed Fell on his way out, and waved back towards the guard just for the older man to give him a weird look in return. "Yeah, yeah. Don't go judging me cause your town stinks of fish." Valo said with a snarky tone. Valo continued to follow Fell since now he was going to lead the way, Valo was in no position as of yet to take the lead like their last job together.
"Fell you know the guards in most if not all towns are useless. The day I see a guard willing pull his or her own weight I'll jump for joy myself." Valo responded to Fell's comments about the guards in the town. "Plus they'll probably j-j-j-just get in our way." Valo said struggling to speak again slightly as the smell of fish entered his nose. Valo stood up straight and shook it off though as much as he could. He no longer wanted to be this burden, but he couldn't help it. He didn't know if it was a allergic reaction, or slight fear perhaps both. But something about fish, and the smell just made him really nauseous. He could probably still fight and defend himself to a certain extent, but it would require a lot more effort than usual on his part. He started to slap both sides of his face, trying to get himself back together. "I'm alright and fish do not bother me. I'm alright and fish do not bother me." He said repeatedly.
Valo agreed with Fell's plan, there was no downside to it. The attacker was known and reported to be a attacking in the noble area, and the added benefit to waiting there was no fish or smell around to make Valo sick. As they made their way towards that part of town, Valo would mention something. "We might have to wait closer to sun fall, I doubt he's gonna switch his strategy and start attacking in mid day. On the ground I could do a bit of hiding, make sure I go unnoticed. Plus at night we won't really have to worry about any bystanders why'll messing this guy up." Valo said with more confidence in his tone now, slowly getting back to normal.
Now completely in the noble area, it was still day time but the sun was falling soon. The duo walked in and Valo noticed a group of church priests wearing black long robes. Valo had another idea, and reached for Fell's shoulder to get his attention. "Fell follow me." Valo said heading towards the group.
"Aye I need to borrow your robes." Valo said in a demanding voice. The group of priests looked confused for a second looking up at the young tall mage. Valo was a patient guy, but not now when people's lives were at stake. "It's magic knight business! Look we'll trade you...for now. I just got this new cloak so I expect it back got it!" Valo said taking off his new cloak, and tossing it at the confused priest. "Hurry it up!" Valo now shouted causing the priest to scramble but took off his black robe handing it to Valo.
"You'll be up on the roofs so you may not need to change. But if he spots me and my cloak he may not even make try to do anything. This will at least give us more time to spot a weird mana signature, so we can trap this guy." Valo said explaining his thinking on the matter while putting on the black priest robe. He looked back at he priest with a very intimidating look. The priest was caught busy admiring the brand new Green Mantis cloak he found in his possession, but soon met Valo's angry expression. "Go hide in your church, and when we're done I expect my cloak back the exact way I gave it to you. Understand?" Valo asked getting in real close, the priest nodding quickly walking away with the rest of the group heading back into the church and closing the doors behind them.
"I swear they mess up my cloak, I'll kill em." Valo said moving around in his new robe. "And this thing is hideous." Valo muttered walking off, placing his hood to hide his stark white hair. He placed his hands together and the long wide sleeves met in the middle, he was a bit tall but he really looked like an average priest. "Alright we got our plan. See ya later bud." Valo said to Fell walking off, to go patrol the alley ways.
Fell nodded after Valo had mentioned the guards all being useless, he was by no means wrong for sure. Seemed any guard the two had ever encountered were terrible fighters and had the intelligence of a boulder, on a good day they had the intelligence of a crayfish. Either way they both knew the simple fact was that anyone could be a guard but the knights were special. It was just what made them different, they had the capabilities meanwhile the guards were your average person incapable of anything else. “You are not wrong there, though if we stayed around the fish they might be as useful as you.” Fell joked after his partner had finished stuttering again.
Fell was grateful to be with his partner again, it always seemed like the missions they did were not only smoother than others, but more enjoyable than the others. Something about the two being together made Fell much more laid back and ready to live life and enjoy what they were doing. It was similar to travel to the boy which often made him much happier and more capable of wanting to continue what he was doing. The two had become friends and seemed to be doing missions left and right together, it was only a matter of time before they moved up and maybe even tried things harder than missions. Though that was probably in the future much more considering this was the first mission they had taken that was of a higher class, they were moving up in the world considerably quickly. But nothing would be like taking on something like a dungeon, and one day he would be surprised if the two didn't team up to take one on. Only time would truly tell.
Fell chuckled slightly to himself as his partner repeated his calming sentence over and over, opting not to joke with the man once more. It was clear fish did definitely bother him, not that Fell would ever understand why, but he could use it to his advantage one day. Fell wondered if there was some sort of underlying story or not though. Fell nodded after Valo’s next statement. “Yeah I agree, especially with this red and gold cloak it might not be easy to not be noticed. Even if I am running around on rooftops, he probably is pretty aware of trying to not be caught. Best to wait till night, plus it's when he should attack if all the times are true.”
Fell could do nothing but laugh as he watched Valo commit some sort of at least half a dozen sins in his next line of actions. Not that Fell cared of course but it was humorous to no end watching a priest undress just for Valo to only give him a cloak to cover up with. Fell saw the other priest beginning to take off his robes just for Fell after hearing Valo mention him to put his hand up. “I'm good, I'm not sure those robes would be holy after dealing with my shadows.” Fell said, the priest quickly stopped taking off his robes as he silently agreed to himself. As Valo finished his interaction he looked rather hilarious to Fell who couldn't let it go. “I never would have thought I would see the day where you wore the holy cloth. I'm going to have to write this somewhere and post it around so I can share this memory. Call if you see him, good luck.” Fell said laughing just before the two separated.
Fell turned around finding the closest building, looking at the side he noticed the bricks were staggered on the corner. “Good enough” He thought to himself as he began to climb the bricks, his fingers and feet gaining just enough purchase to support his body weight. It took a few minutes to reach the top of the building, pulling himself over the rooftop. He was grateful the wood had been roughed up over years and years because the smoothness of fresh wood otherwise would have made for a difficult time. Fell quickly began to scan the area, for any sign of the murderer.

"Yeah. Yeah." Valo said in response to Fell's comment about sharing this memory so it won't be forgotten. "I just wanna make sure you get this scum bag, if I gotta wear some robes to do it I will." Valo shouted back towards Fell as they went their separate ways for now. He placed his hood up to make sure his face was well hidden, completing the look of an average modern day priest.
Some time went by and the sun finally went down, most of the people in the town safe in their homes. Save for a few civilians still roaming about, some leaving from a bar in a drunken fit. Others finishing their shopping for the day. Valo looked on still roaming about the Noble part of town, he had actually blended in pretty well joining a another group of priests as they walked about. Eventually though Valo had whispered to them, to head back inside their homes as it would not be safe. Now with Valo seemingly alone, and the alleys checked. He took a seat at a nearby bench, and awaited for anything out of the ordinary to pop up. But after a few minutes of nothing, the boredom started to kick in. Valo sighed as he focused his senses, though it wasn't much to try and see if he could pick up something. When nothing came up on the radar he let out another sigh in frustration silently cursing his lackluster sensory skills. Making a mental note to put some time in training for sensing.
But he it wasn't all for nothing, Fell had much better sensory abilities than he did and with Fell getting the high ground for an advantage. He knew his partner would alert him at the first sign of trouble. With that being said Valo looked up and noticed a young couple making their way out of the bar. They stumbled more than they could walk, so it was obvious they weren't really sober. But Valo stood up and started to walk towards them, wanting to keep his eye on them to make sure there was no trouble. As the moon made it's presence the young wizards patrol just continued.
After Fell and Valo went their separate ways with Valo mentioning he was just trying to ensure the missions went well, and then after Fell climbed the nearest roof he wandered around. Going from roof to roof he looked over the edges, looking across the roof to every alley way and every street there was nowhere that the boy seemed to be finding any sort of mana out of the ordinary let alone visually something creepy. Time had passed for so long that the streets seemed empty and full of only wind and the animals that ran about in the midst of the night.
This was not to say however there was no nightlife in this city, for throughout this area they were patrolling, the noble area. Fell noticed two active taverns in the area, Fell even noticed at a point Valo being near one of them. And Fell took his attention to the other, deciding to make his way over to it, jumping from one roof to another, continuing to check around each time just in case. He jumped, searched…..jumped, search...jum...wait. Pausing the boy noticed a weird figure, he was two alleys away from the tavern Valo had just been at. But he had a straight sightline down to the main street that this tavern had been on.
Fell watched the man carefully, who seemed to be keeping a sightline on the street as he waited, and Fell only watched. Making sure he had the right man. He sat there for what must have been 10 minutes before the man made a move. And Fell noticed why, a drunk couple leaving the tavern making their way down the street that the man had seemed to be watching. Fell followed silently from the rooftops, passing the first intersection, and then the second. And then Fell saw Valo trailing the couple, aware of the possible targets that could be. And just as the man was nearing the corner Fell struck. Muttering Bolt, he shot lightning bolts from his hand as his grimoire lit up, his eyes flickering lightning. Unaware the man took a bolt directly to the side, recoiling he looked up towards Fell who shouted. “Valo! He is over here!” Fell said.
“You messed up kid, I guess you are the target tonight, first knight I get to kill, a Lion at that.” The weird man would say to Fell. “Says the one who just took a lightning spell to the side. Seems you are the one in trouble not me.” The boy would say. Quickly casting his next spell. Without any movement or verbal cues a shadow from a barrel directly next to the murderers side would shoot up slicing into the man's leg. He had taken two hits now but was still able to stand fine, clearly much tougher than any opponent Fell had yet faced. “Seems you had shadow magic too hunh little kid? No matter.” The murderer replied.
Fell could quickly see why this man needed to be captured, clearly proving to be very dangerous. Fell watched as a chain shot from under the mans robes towards Fell, attempting to wrap around the boys legs, but Fell dropped quickly from the roof landing on the ground with a thud. Valo needed to arrive….quickly.

After a while into his patrol Valo started to get...distracted. There wasn't much in the town right now, so it had to be a certain something that really caught his attention. He was trailing the couple for a few minutes, but then he caught sight of two women walking together on their way to the tavern instead. It was a foolish mistake one that Valo had to let them know personally. He walked towards them pulling down his hood, revealing his face blocking their path to the tavern. "I'm sorry girls but it's best you head home for the night it's to dangerous to be out here." he said trying to have his voice be as stern as possible. It only worked so much though. The two girls giggled at his attempt, one of them slightly touched the strands of his white hair twirling it with her fingers.
"You don't look like a priest. You look like the kind of young man who gets into a lot trouble and your'e kinda cute. You should come drink with us." One said to Valo, the other giggling and nodding along. It was almost as if Valo forgot he was on a mission for about a minute. He grinned back at them nearly about to take them up on their offer. "Haha thanks ladies, I guess it couldn't-" Valo was interrupted by Fell's shout letting him know he spotted the murderer. Valo let out a quick sigh, raking off the priest robe and tossing it to one of the girls. Revealing his clothing underneath, of a young wizard knight prepped for battle. "You two gotta leave now. Things might get a little crazy!" Valo said before taking off toward the scene in a fast sprint.
As he was running towards them he saw he scene play out. This guy was able to tank two of Fell's attacks without flinching, and it looked like he used some sort of chain magic. He tried to grab hold of Fell who was still on a roof, Fell was able to avoid the attack. But the chain mage looked unbothered, this guy was gonna be tough. A small smirk appeared on Valo's face increasing the speed of his sprint. He was coming towards the right of him, and before the murderer could launch another attack. Valo hopped into the air as soon as he got close enough. The murderer would turn towards his right spotting Valo but he was a bit to late, Valo planted both feet directly on his face landing a successful drop kick that sent the man flying back a few feet scrapping across the ground. Crashing into a couple of crates, leaving a bit of a mess.
"Sorry I'm a little late." Valo said towards his partner, giving him a thumbs up. Valo was being a little too casual though, he didn't notice a thin chain had wrapped around his feet. The murderer as he was being hit by Valo, had wrapped a chain around his ankle going unnoticed by the young wizard. With a quick tug Valo was knocked off balance and fell to the floor, being dragged by the murderous villain.
"Tch. What the hell?!" Valo said with utter confusion in his voice, he was trying to get a grip on the chain but couldn't in time. Before he knew it the villain was standing up, the villain had on a grey long dirty robe that covered his entire long and lanky frame underneath. He was tall, taller than Valo and stood about 6'8. His face was paler than Fell's, skinnier too, a sharp chin under his thin lips. A smile appeared revealing fang like teeth, this guy looked horrific. His sharp nose and all black eyes only made it worse, no hair on his head instead just purple veins could be seen.
"Two young knights for me to kill! A Lion and a Mantisssss!" he snarled dragging Valo on the ground closer to him.

Fell watched as his partner showed up his feet landing on the chain wizards face who had seemingly become to fixed on the single boy not even caring enough about the fact he called for someone else, either that or he simply misheard. Fell was happy as his partner made his appearance quickly and felt better knowing the two of them were here now making it a much more possible fight to win compared to just Fell.
The man made his entrance stopping to mention his lateness which Fell brushed off. The man was not late by any means, arriving shortly after Fell had called for him, it was their plan after all and could have played out much worse. In any case the man's words were quickly cut short as he was pulled to the ground and began being dragged towards the chain mage. The chain mage was showing everything the two men had assumed about him, revealing how true it was and just how creepy he was. But there was no time for Fell to pay much attention as he attacked the mage quickly.
Fell quickly held one hand towards the mage, his eyes crackling with lightning just as energy coursed through his body and out of his hands. The mage this time was quick to send a chain out meeting the bolt, the chain breaking through the spell and continuing forward. Fell was quick to dodge beneath the chain as it shot past him and continued forward into the night.
“You see now little boy your magic is too weak, you will die here, you and your friend who is too busy getting dragged.” The chain wizard almost hissed as he spoke.
“Thats funny, from what I see there is no chain attached to him anymore.” Fell said, smirking, the chain mage had never noticed Fell’s second hand pointing directly at the chain that had been pulling valo towards the mage, during the interaction the chain had shattered and Valo was freed. The chain mage reacted as per any villain with some other hiss of sorts before becoming angrier and deciding to go on the offensive. The chain mage held out his hands, two chains shooting out of his robed hands. Speeding toward Fell he ran towards them jumping to the left on the wall of the alley and planting his foot before using it to push off and towards the mage. The chains flying off Fell sent a kick towards the mages head midair, but the kick was blocked, the mage grabbing the boy's leg as he threw him back. A chain came out again of the robes wrapping around the boy's ankle. Just as this happened Fell looked at his shadow as he was flying away, with a quick flick of his eyes the shadow shot outwards and hit the mage in his hand. As the shadow struck the chain whipped around and released, sending Fell into a nearby barrel, shattering the barrel.

As Valo was being dragged on the ground by the chain wizard, he was trying his hardest to break the chain. But almost as if the chain had a mind of it's own, it wrapped around both of Valo's legs increasing the grip causing a decent amount of pain. But Valo refused to shout out in pain, he simply gritted his teeth and withstood it. In his mind he was fully acknowledging that even with both him and Fell this was gonna be a tough fight. This guy had them beat in durability, range, and experience. But despite these short comings the two young wizards had no intention of giving up, they simply had to try harder and fight smarter.
Using his hands to try and break the chains, Valo was left helpless for the most part as the chain only grew in size and started to cover his lower body and then his arms. "Tcchhh Fuck! Let me go you ugly piece of shit!" Valo sneered out, his annoyance at his situation only growing. Being left helpless as the evil wizard engaged his partner, while keeping him restrained. Valo was left with only trusting his partner, which he did full heartedly. Fell shot one of his signature lighting spells at the chain wizard, only for him to beat it out with one of his own offensive chain attacks.
So he's got us beat in overall power too huh. Valo thought analyzing the situation and this guys overall power. His trust in his partner came full circle though, as Fell managed to not only distract the villain but free Valo as well. Valo awaited the right moment to strike, as he engaged with Fell. He didn't want to end up in the same situation as before so he decided to be patient. As he saw Fell making his attack a smirk appeared on his face watching his partner use a wall to gain more height and go for a arial kick, unfortunately it was blocked but it felt really good seeing Fell make use of that martial arts training that Valo was teaching him. Had he been a little faster that kick would have landed. "Thats my bro." said Valo now starting to rush in to make his attack while the chain menace was distracted.
As he ran forward his grimoire floated to his side, this villain had them beat in most aspects. But he didn't in one of them from what Valo noticed, and that was pure speed. His grimoire flashed a red light as small embers started to trail of his feet boosting Valo's speed significantly. He wasn't that far away from the villain so this extra boost in speed seemed like Valo would strike the chain wizard in an instant. His right fist cocking back and then launched forward, but surprising Valo his fist only met a circular shield made of chains. "Tch!" Valo sucked his teeth, but didn't stop his momentum.
The attack still sent the man sliding back about one meter, his chain shield crumbling as it broke. "You didn't think I had my eye on you kid, you thought you were fast. But I'll give it to ya, you got some power behind those attacks!" the villain mocked Valo, as he wrapped a number of chains around his arms ripping the sleeves of his robes. Probably a spell used to reinforce the power behind his strikes.
But Valo had a smile on his face, the looks in his eyes was full determination. It was odd but the young wizard was actually having fun, this was one of his toughest fights yet right along side those banshees he fought a while back with Artemis. But this time he was fighting another wizard with an actual brain and some strategy. Now as much as Valo wanted he wasn't going to beat this guy alone, him and Fell had to work together and he planned to. Valo started to crack his knuckles. "I'll show you power when I smash that ugly face in." Valo taunted back. He wasn't going to let this guy beat him in trash talking too.
Valo rushed in again his fist colliding with the chain wizards, both attacks canceling each other out. They went back and forth with two more punches, till Valo switched things up and went for a kick meeting the villains guard.
But a small smirk was on Valo's face. "Heh I am faster." he said before rotating his body the other way, another kick hitting the man low ankle sweeping him off balance.
But Valo's sequence wasn't done yet his right hand shot up, and landed an open palm uppercut right on the villains chin stunning him for a bit. Now that the Villain was stunned Valo would shout to Fell. "Fell blast him now!!" he shouted knowing his partner would be up and ready to fire another attack that would hopefully take this guy out for good.

Fell watched as his partner was quick to follow up his moves, first he had launched his own kick before trading fists with the man. There was a little bit of talk in between, Fell not at all being surprised by the tongue of his partner, it was nothing new for Fell but it was always entertaining for him, making these sorts of fights fun. Fell had to say this was the most fun he had yet in a fight, the first and only time he was ever actually in fear of being hurt or even really touched by the person opposing him. So far in his adventures the worst thing he had ever fought was the dungeon, but with the two witches that he had there was no legitimate fear. Outside of that there was never even a creature that really scared the boy. Now however, this creepy mage actually had the capabilities to harm Fell and Valo, if it wasn't for the two fighting together it was likely the mage could take each on one at a time.
But this mage was out of his league with the two, not only were they probably stronger simply with them two, but after having fought together many times now they had grown to develop teamwork far beyond someone like this mage could ever hope to compete with all alone. And this was evident as the fight continued. With Valo landing a solid strike on the mage, Fell reacted just as quick as Valo had called out.
It took a second for Fell to stand up after being launched into the barrels, but thankfully Valo had been able to exchange blows long enough for him to stand up and launch his attack just in time. Leading this time with a shadow, using the shadow of his partner Fell manifested it outward with the flick of his eyes, his grimoire exuding the black color of a shadow as it flew beside him. The page lit up as the shadow extended outwards and into the man's chest. For the first time of the fight blood spurted out of the man's mouth as he coughed up blood.
“Please, no…” He begged, Valo standing over him, Fell now beside him and a shadow spear in his chest.
“Pathetic” Fell spitted as he kicked the man's head like a soccer ball. The mage’s head snapped around as he lost consciousness.
“We were told to capture or kill him...might help the city if they can question him or something. For all we know maybe he didn't kill every victim. Worst case he gets locked up in a cell forever, suits him better than a simple death, no?” Fell said to Valo. The boy had come a long way from the days he would have simply ended the man with another spell, if it wasn't for Valo along the boy's journey he probably would have. But now he knew the meaning of life, and how much value it held not only for oneself but others as well. He was hoping he'd proven Valo right in sticking by his side.
“Well, unless you wanna carry him I can wait here while you go get guards to take him away.” Fell said as he sat on the mage that was unconscious and bleeding now from his nose. Fell of course making sure to move his cloak away from the mage's face as he sat, he couldn't soak his royal cloak after all.

As Valo had successfully had the villain stunned for a few moments, Fell made complete use of the time, using a one of Valo's own shadows he was able to land a direct hit that hit him right in the middle of the chest. The first sight of blood finally coming from the man, he proved to be really tough but eventually he had to go down. Plus with the combined efforts of Fell and Valo there was no chance of him winning. But Valo would hand it to him even if just a little, he had a little bit of fun fighting another wizard of similar caliber. Stepping back as Fell delivered one last kick knocking him out for good. The action surprised Valo for a little bit, throughout the whole fight Fell never once lost control like he did back in that patrol job they did. Valo was thinking he might have in a fight like this, but his partner kept his cool the whole time it left a smile on Valo's face.
Although he was thinking taking this guy out permanently wouldn't be such a bad idea. Valo chuckled at the idea and looked at Fell as he sat directly on the villain and laughed out loud. "The poor guy. I actually had a bit of fun in our little dance. To bad he's a nut case, would have liked to match up with him again for a one on one some time." Valo said stretching his arm out, now deactivating his spell since the confrontation was over. "I'll go get the guards, since I gotta go get my cloak back!" Valo said turning around and walking back towards some guards near the church where he met those priests. "Watch him close! Would be real annoying if he woke up and caught you off guard." Valo said to Fell walking away.
He went and grabbed the guards nearby and told them that they managed to capture the murdering chain wizard he pointed them to where Fell was and then turned towards the church. Knocking on the heavy tall doors a few times with no answer. He knocked again awaiting but got no answer. The young fire mage's annoyance grew quickly. As he started to imagine the worse being done to his brand new cloak. He just got it and only got to were it once, that being today so he would be up in flames quite literally if something happened to it. With a heavy kick he busted the doors open to the church, his eyes narrowing in anger from what he saw.
The group of priests having a grand old feast in the main hall, a group of them gargling down food like pigs. The priest that he gave his cloak too was eating as well with his green mantis cloak still on. Valo ran forward anger written all over his face, but as he got closer he started to smell a peculiar stench one that would make him really nauseous. He buckled over and felt like he had to throw up. "Ar-are you eating f-f-f-f-f-f-fiiiissssh and getting it all over my new cloak!!!!" Valo managed to shout in pure anger. He wanted to light this place up in flames, but the stench of fish kept him in place.
"MY NEW CLOAK!!!!" was all that could be heard in the dead of night.

Fell agreed with Valo, it was by far the most interesting fight he had been in up to this point where he actually felt like a major participant. But in the end it wasnt meant to be a fight to enjoy, it was a job and the sicko of course had to be put in jail. And so when Valo left to find the guards it was a fight that was never meant to be for the two, a future one on one that is.
Fell sat on the unconscious body, periodically kicking it lightly to see if itd stir, it didn't. So when the guards came to collect the body and Fell chatted briefly with them before they carried him away and all Fell heard in the distance was Valo screams. “Oh boy, someone messed up” Fell said as he made his way toward the sounds.
