Zaven is of average height (6’ / 2 meters) and weighs in at about 185 pounds / 83.92 kg. He looks a little slimmer than what most would be at his age with a well defined physique in which he keeps a daily regimen to maintain. His Turquoise eyes are full of mystery and a touch of sorrow as he often is seen with an inquisitive expression, he radiates power in his stature and it is stifling to be around him if you are weak willed.

Zaven, unlike his father is not only loyal, but humble in the fact he often helps local people with deeds unbefitting of a novel hero. Also unlike his father he cares for those less fortunate and in his youth he often stepped in to dish out some justice under a guise so he was not found out.

His attire is normally black trousers with a set of workers boots coupled with a black cotton undershirt with a jacket adorning his family crest. Though later in his years he became more of a public figure that stands out wherever he is in a suit or normal clothing. He wears the Golden Dawn uniform with pride.

His most prized physical characteristic is his hair and how thick it is. It normally hangs just past his ears, with his bangs cut in a way that he is not hindered by his own style.


Zaven can be described easily as most people in and around his father’s immediate family refer to him much like his magical affinity...a shadow. He rarely talks unless it is of a subject in which he is heavily invested in, making him appear introverted, also, much of the time he prefers solitude rather than looking to socialize with his father and his peers. When out and helping the common people he is actually very friendly and tries to be as outgoing and helpful as he possibly can making him seem almost bipolar in that regard as if he really is an extrovert feeding off the energy of the people.

He fears the legacy of his father will cause himself to be seen as a malicious nobel and also that he may actually one day turn out like his father, Rolin Blake.

His dream is to be free from his father’s legacy and become a magic knight for the clover kingdom, he wishes for this so he does not have to hide anymore and live as he does in the shadows of the night or away from the gaze of his oppressive family.

Zaven likes food, wine, and helping those less fortunate than himself.

Zaven dislikes being oppressed, the constant droning of everyday life, those that abuse their power, and spiders.

Since breaking away from his family traditions and becoming the Golden Dawn Captain he has allowed himself to undergo a transformation. He has become much more personable and caring, but under his cool surface is a bubbling rage and disdain for the weak enemies he encounters. Zaven has also become disillusioned and numb to death as so many around him he considered close family and friends have disappeared over the span of his life.


The son of Rolin Blake and Theresa Thatch, Zaven was kept at home and a secret from the extended family for twenty-one long years. His father did not tout him around like some trophy, yet he did not deny the boy a noble place among the family just for being born out of wedlock. His father’s reasoning for this was to create a mind he could mold and create a tool in which to exact whatever foolish desire he wanted. However, kept under supervision allowed something else to be born inside the son of a man regarded as having no soul...resentment. Zaven grew to detest his father privately as he found out a great deal of the misdeeds his father had or was presently making, and for as long as he could remember Zaven had grown to respect the work done in the shadows as much as he hated how his father used it. He had only been caught outside supervision twice in his life, causing him to receive two marks on his body at each forearm. These marks were deep cuts that were supposed to teach Zaven how tainted and dangerous the outside world was, but it only fueled his desire to escape and do the exact opposite of what his father wanted. He soon began doing vigilante work under the light of the moon, utilizing his shadow magic to aid him. Now as he turned twenty-six he desired more...freedom was awaiting for him and the best way to grasp it was to become...a magic knight.

Much time has passed since he left to become a Magic Knight. He is now the captain of the Golden Dawn, and one of the few that is considered to be the strongest knights in Clover. He served in the final chapters of the clover-diamond war, the events that led up to the daemons being discovered, and the shattering. Zaven now works to ensure nobody has to go through what he did even if it means he has to become a villain to do so.
