Yes, she had caught his name.

Michail Ravencrest. A Ravencrest. Oh yes, definitely one of the upper class.

And no, she had not responded. Not initially. She had turned away, mainly because she was partly eager to get to work, and partly because she was pondering on his relationship with another Ravencrest she knew: a certain white-haired ice mage whom she has met on more than one occasion—and strangely enough, none in combat.

Genesis had sauntered along ahead, very aware that she had left her partner back there with an unanswered question. She heard him running up to catch up with her...then his footsteps faltered momentarily, then resumed.

"I'm Michail Ravencrest of the Silver Eagles. Who do I have the pleasure of working with today?"

“Pleasure?” It was only a formality, she knew, but she could not help but inwardly scoff at nobles and their formal speech. Still though, it would not do to be rude to someone linked to a powerful family. “Gen.” She answered. The least she could do was offer something for him to call her by, even if it was only temporarily. Though in her opinion, a name was just a title. It held no strong significance to her.

The femme tossed one of her knives up, watching its sharp and metallic blade reflect flickers of nearby light sources. This set of karambit was a new addition to her collection. Her philosophy was that one could never have too many weapons on hand. Hence, she surrounded herself with blades, magical and non-magical. Her first instinct was always to use her knives on hand before turning to any spells in her grimoire.

“Michail, was it?” She let one of the curved blades spin in the air before catching it absent-mindedly. She had not ceased walking, just patrolling around the perimeters as needed. “What's your magic?” She was not adept at holding perfumery or fancy conversations—she usually resorted to straight and direct inquiries. After all, her usual conversations only consisted of her would-be victim's info and bargaining for how much she was getting paid. Something else had caught her attention, however. Something he had said earlier.

“A Ravencrest, huh?” She was not usually one for small talk, nor would she be uncomfortable if there was silence between them for the rest of the night. So why was she still talking? “You would know Hania, oui?”

If he delayed too long in a response, she would raise an eyebrow and face him fully for the first time. Flashy clothing, as she had expected. Dual toned hair, not so much. It was definitely a unique look, something she had never seen before. However, nothing showed on her face as she appraised the young man before her, save for a slight flicker of amusement in her gray eyes. As expected, there was his Silver Eagle mantle, signifying his rank and occupation.

Gen lifted her gaze to his piercing crimson ones. Was it just her imagination, or had his eyes been...wandering? The shadow mage was so tempted to roll her eyes at that, but caught herself just in time. Men. They were all the same. Expose just a little more flesh than usual and she had more sway over them. She was no stranger to showing skin, though more out of necessity than for attention. She preferred having the most optimal range of motion, and that meant exposing certain areas in compensation. Not that she minded—she knew she was lithe and fit, and was not ashamed of anything in regards to her body shape.

With this info in mind, maybe it would be entertaining to see how much she could push at this interesting character. The barest hint of a smirk tugged at the side of her mouth. Name and status aside, this would be something purely between a female and a male. Of course, they would still be doing their job, keeping watch for anything suspicious, but it was highly unlikely that anything would happen—so why not have a little bit of fun while she was at it?
