The Grand Magic archives’ librarian seems to be in a bit of a pinch. There are too many books for him to be able to arrange in a comfortable time and he is willing to pay for help!

Elliot felt out of place in the Noble Region, even more so in the Royal Capital. She was just a commoner that had spent her entire early years in the Common Region. Work had brought her all the way here, and the refusal to deal with the grief she was still running from. She couldn't let that catch up to her, it would destroy her she felt. Becoming the last surviving member of the family at eighteen was bad enough, having to deal with the emotional turmoil because of it was something she was avoiding the last three years and counting. Dressing up and acting like the cute boy she passed as had only gone so far to emotionally distancing herself from her past. After a while she had decided to begin roaming, finding work where ever she ended up and trying to keep herself as busy as she could without revealing who she really was. It wasn't hard, given no one really knew her anyways. With her family dead and her gone from the village she had grown up in not a single person thought she was even alive anymore, not that they could recognize her now anyway.
The job in question was one that brought her to the Grand Magic Archives, the librarian sending out a call for help with an untold amount of books that needed to be arranged. Rather than immediately going in, Elle would stop to stare at the gorgeous building. Places like this always stood out, and this most definitely stood out. 'He' would go in eventually, but for now they were too busy taking in the sites.

Jorah had arrived in the Royal Capital, he was a day ahead of schedule...he needed to help out one of his children, apparently the parents have decided to put their kid in a direct line of confrontation with a noble family just because the kid had an aptitude for magic...such a shame too, the kid really is such a bright mind, but it often ended like this, blood was usually the answer for such violations, and Jorah was not the type of man to just give people warnings. So as he sighed, he put his hands in his pockets as he found himself in front of the Grand Magic Archives, a sign out in front that read that there was some work to be done within. “Well...that’s nothing new, guess I will make some pocket change while I am out here.”
He gave the sign a quick scan as he noticed at the bottom that there would need to be another person to help him, something he did not really foresee when he decided to do this job. ” Well..looks like I need a hand, hopefully, there will be someone inside that can help me in this endeavor.” He said before walking up the steps, not even noting that he walked by the effeminate “man” named Elliot.

It wouldn't be long before she a well dressed man would walk past her and into the library, making her realize she should actually enter the large building so that she could get to work and get paid. Sightseeing could wait until after, she needed the money if she wanted to get something decent to eat the next few days. With that though in mind, Elliot would walk into the library. The inside was as grand as the outside. Books upon books lined the massive shelves around the entire place.
Nearby was a large station with a desk, a clearly important librarian there working as hard as he could and looking like he was in a panic. Nearby was also the well-dressed man that had walked past her while outside. Was he also going to be helping to arrange the books here? Well, she would find out soon enough as she would walk over there and talk in the voice she had since learned was very much considered that of an effeminate boy. "Hello, I'm here to help arrange the books. My name is Elliot, a pleasure to meet you." It would be said as she nodded to both the librarian and the other stranger whom she hoped was really here as the other person for the job. If not this would be a bit awkward.

He received the request to arrange some books according to a particular order, it was small work...but it was honest work nonetheless. He took the job and waited for a moment as the librarian informed him that there were no others to help for the moment. Out of the corner of his eye, that same person from outside that he nearly bumped into came up to the desk and also took the job, Jorah was a bit skeptical at first, but when he had a look at the “boy” and then heard the words of greeting he blinked.
That voice did not match at all!
He nearly gave a small chuckle before nodding to the person before him. ” Call me Jorah, I assume we will be working together then my young friend. Shall we get to work then, according to the librarian here, we have quite the day ahead of us today.” He would say with a charming smile, he was not one to mince words out in public, especially on a first meeting, unless it concerned...his family, but this young one had a familiar air about her...no wait...him? Regardless, he did not press the issue before holding his hand out to the librarian and once he received a sheet of paper with what rows in the historical hex’s wing they will be working on he gave a small nod before turning and beginning to walk towards the grand staircase that sat at the back of the building, situated in the center of the large initial room.
This was not his first time here, so he led the young one that followed him, finally speaking as they climbed the staircase to the split left to go towards the wing they were to work in. ”So what brings you to the Royal Capital all alone, you have a sort of aloof air about you...you definitely do not belong here...and you are not a magic knight...perhaps you are looking to join that ridiculous church of Clover fanatics?” He asked teasingly, prying into the background of the person he was working with.
Opening the door to the wing...the place was a fucking mess...it looked like it had not been touched in nearly a damn decade. ” Well...in any case...yul is yul.” Jorah said with a sigh.

The well dressed man would introduce himself as Jorah, an interesting name to say the least. Jorah would assume they were working together, which ended up true since he was also here to help with the arranging of books here in the archives. "If that's the case, it's safe to say we should start now." The girl would nod in agreement as the other man would acquire a paper that told them where they needed to go for the task at hand. Johar, clearly not a stranger to this place, led the way while also asking a question as they moved along. It was a question about the reason for being in the Royal Capital, with a teasing remark added to it about joining the Church of Clover. The last part was one she likely would never do. How could one so depressed and in a rut be expected to show faith towards any deity? She would likely burst into flames if she even stepped foot in a church at this point.
"You're correct on my not belonging here and me not being a magic knight. I'm just a lone commoner wandering around for work and it brought me here. No family means no ties to a place, so I have the freedom to go where the money and the sights take me. It's definitely not the church that brought me here, I wouldn't fit in with them in the slightest." The smile on her face was wide, though a bitter sadness stuck in her eyes that even with all her practice of masking her emotions could not cover at the moment. Her own answer had struck a bit too close to home and brought up bitter and sad memories she was trying to forget altogether.
Luckily they would arrive at their intended location before she needed to say anything else, and boy was it an absolute catastrophe and was likely not worth the money they were promised for fixing it up. It was too late now, they had already agreed to help and it would be dishonorably to back out now. "Agreed, let's try and get this over with..." She would also sigh, knowing they were in for a long day of work rather.

Jorah looked back at the youth, as she explained to him in her voice...which he still had trouble believing belonged to a “male” he saw the hurt in her eyes at the end. The sign that this person really was all alone. With a sigh the orphanage owner immediately had a soft spot for the person and opened the door as the two would enter the wing and get to work. It was nothing hard of course, the pair worked faster together as Jorah would ask for a number printed on the inside of the tomes, and once it was in his hands he would put it away in its proper place. He would make small talk in the meantime.
”So...what magic do you have, to be in the Royal Capital...even alone, you must have some way to defend yourself or some talent that you can make your money. This world can surely be unforgiving to the likes of us that are not a part of some order or another. If it is any consolation my own magic is quite a mirror of sorts...though not as rare as mirror magic I can assure you.” He would say as he would let out a soft chuckle, tripping over a stack of books and ending face down, ass up into the floor. ”Ouch...that was...unseen.” He said with a sigh, trying to pick himself up.

The two would swiftly begin working on their task. Jorah would read off the numbers printed on the inside of the tomes for her so that she could hand them off to him, which he would then return to the proper spot in a timely fashion. It was time consuming, even with their combined efforts and proper teamwork, and because of this Jorah would do small talk with the girl in men's clothing. It would be a question on the type of magic that she had, due to how dangerous it could be in the world they lived in, while he would also give a vague description of his own before he would fall onto his rear. It took everything in her being not to laugh out loud, knowing that would come out in her actual voice rather than the effeminate one she was practicing and getting better at. Instead of laugh she would smirk and huff out of her nose at him before offering a hand to help him get back up.
"I have Ash magic, I can create golems with it so far but I've been debating making other helpful items with it as well. It's not helpful for jobs like this, but when it comes to fighting having minions comes in handy real quick." She was more of a supporting commander in battle, commanding minions and helping those with her rather than doing the fighting herself. She could defend herself, if needed, but she had no spells for that kind of thing. "I've thought about trying to join a Magic Knight squad, but I don't feel they would take me as I am just yet. I need to try and prove myself, do something like a dangerous mission or help dive into a dungeon with someone from one of the squads so they can recommend me. Also, you said that your magic is a mirror of some sort? Kind of like making illusions or reflection of other magics?" She was not well versed in all the elements and types of magic available to everyone. She was not girl that went to school, not when she had had to work to keep everyone fed even at an early age. Elliot was slowly learning in her travels, more than she ever had in her time growing up, and the more she learned the better he chances of getting somewhere in life.

Jorah heard the laugh from the person he worked with, then listened as the person explained their magic to him, they had Ash magic and used golems eh? That was an interesting magic to grab a hold of and he was going to do so if he could. He looked around at all the books that they had left to put up, and the way the sun shined in the window they were nearing the end of the required time limit. ”Hey Elliot, how about you show me some of that golem magic of yours, we don’t have much time left and it looks like there are still two more rows of books to put away in the bookshelves. Sound like a good plan?” He said as he asked the question with a soft smile.
He then continued to grab the books and put them away a little bit faster than what he had been doing, the man had been hiding his strength after all as he soon had the entire row finished just by himself. The orphanage owner was actually adept in taking care of lists and putting things away in a timely manner...he had to be. He just hoped Elliot was nice enough of a person to fall for the trick he had laid out, he needed to see the spell work first before he decided to put anything in in terms of effort to imitate it.

After hearing about her magic and spells that Elliot had at her disposal he would suggest summoning some golems to help in getting their work done at a faster pace. It was getting late and they were falling behind, so it was a reasonable idea that she didn't think had anything bad behind it. "I guess it would make it quick to do this if I summoned them, wouldn't it?" Shortly after agreeing with her statement she would summon forth three of Mokhir with the same spell to help them out in this. They were so easy for her to create with her ash magic. She was not sure why, but it always seemed simple to just bring out more of them when she needed. "I call these one's Mokhir. If you read me extra numbers I can have them find them and bring them to you so you can put them up as soon as we find them. Or I can help put them back as these three find them for us. Your choice." Either way she needed to give them the orders. They had no personality, no drive, no real sentience of their own. All they did was follow orders, basic ones at that, and saying 'find this number and bring it to me' was about all she would be able to do with them for this.

Seeing that his plan actually worked and the youth decided to use their magic to summon forth the golem made of ash. He gave a small smile and picked up the paper in which he had already memorized the tomes that were listed...So he figured in order to get to her grimoire, he would do something a bit dumb. ”I need Volumes 38-45 of Hex Master in the Modern Age, I need you to put up the three copies of Love Curse over in section D, and the two copies of Voodoo theory over to the right of me between Intermediate Curses for the playboy and Sexy Curse.” He would say as he would move closer to the Grimoire of Elliot. He would wait for an opening then fake falling again, this time if he was not stopped he would fall onto the grimoire of the person he was working with before sighing in fake pain. Once he felt the mana of the person’s grimoire inside of his own body he rolled over and laughed. ”My god this place is like one big trap for me...I hate hexes and curses for this reason, always having creepy places to store books...This job could not end sooner…”
He notices then that he fell onto the grimoire and he hands it back as he has a red hue of embarrassment. ”I am sorry for that...A grimoire is something very personal and I fell right onto it...forgive this old man. He would say, looking away as he sighed softly. In truth though as long as his plan worked he was already working on how to use the spells inside the grimoire.

With golems summoned forth, and Jorah giving her the books to find, Elliot would begin ordering the ash creations to find the books and put them back as requested so that they could be done and over with this mission so they could collect their pay and look around the city some more. Some of the books were of an...odd name, but that was not something that mattered right now. Though intermediate curses for the playboy did sound like it would be an interesting read if she ever came back here again to look through the books. She wasn't a fan of hexes and curses, she was more of a creation magic-user for the sake of buffs and fighting, not debuffs and the like.
As he was speaking, Jorah would fall down again. Some would panic with their grimoire being fallen upon, but the girl posting as a man was just thankful that the older man had not reached out for her to try and catch himself. It would be so hard to explain, and it was something she never wanted to have to do if she could really help it. "It's uh...fine." She would take back her grimoire and glance over it. Nothing damaged, no harm, and sadly no new spells other than the one in there just yet. "No harm, no foul. Shall we get this done then?" They would focus back to their golems so that they could continue returning books to the proper spots.

Seeing that his plan had worked he heard that feminine voice claim it was no harm at all before taking back her grimoire. He did not let his gloating tendencies get the best of him as he dusted himself off and nodded as Elliot suggested that they get the job done. Jorah was happy to oblige as he moved around fluidly from then on, if it was thought about later...it would seem odd that the older man was that bad with his balance as he showed he was able to move with precision and speed to help her, the golem, and himself to finish putting away the books just as the sun dipped below the tops of the buildings, casting an orange glow upon the room.
”You did a wonderful job, today Elliot. Let’s go collect our pay and then I have some other business to attend to, but I would like to extend an invitation...I heard of a Magic Knight owned dungeon...we can get stronger only through hardships and well I do not know a lot of people so if you aren’t busy I have a plan to get us into the dungeon and we can get some real money and real gains. I am going to be there regardless so I hope to see you there.”
The two would then leave the room, Jorah would be happy to receive his pay before parting ways with Elliot as he made his way to the nearest tavern to go over the spells he gained from that little venture with someone that was unknown.

After his second fall the group of five would swiftly get the rest of their task at hand done without further issue. On later thought Elliot would find it strange that the man had fallen twice and then suddenly suddenly developed perfect balance while moving quickly. Had be been trying to pull something on her? Likely not, they were two strangers trying to work. Maybe he had been trying to fall on her? There were guys into effeminate boys, after all, though that likely had not been the case! They would finish just as the sun was starting to set, and orange glow of the sunset filling the room as Jorah spoke up. A compliment on her work would be made before he suggested going to get their pay before he went to finish other business he had to do. After that he would suggest Elliot coming along to try and enter a dungeon. They were generally for Magic Knights and those invited by them, but this man seemed to believe he could get them in some way or another. More money and personal improvement would be nice, and maybe this would help her prove herself to the magic knights and get into a group of them in the end!
"Thanks, you did good too once you got your balance back. I guess I can meet you there, it sounds like something that would help me with money and my own personal strengths so I'm up for it and will meet you there once I finish up checking out the the capital. I'll be sure to have more than just this golem spell by then as well, so you don't have to worry too much about protecting me from any dangers we come across."
With that said the two would collect their pay and part ways. Elliot would spend a few more hours at the library, checking out snippets of books on supplemental creation and golem creation as well as ones on physical reinforcement and other ways to protect one's self and others. Ash was her element, but she was intent on not looking like the bad guy with it like the stigma it seemed to hold with it.
