The town and the Church are both on edge trying to figure out what is going on and causing such a strange occurrence near their home. They have even begun to actively enlist the help of the Azure Deer who share the city with them to figure this out. However, during a meeting with everyone present including yourselves, a rumbling can be felt almost like an earthquake. When everyone goes outside, what they sees shake you all to the core. A Candycane man. The scent of peppermint fills the air, but despite its sweet appearance and scent, it starts to try to destroy the town. Standing well above a two story house, it is up to you to stop it while the knights and church evacuate the city.

"Are you sure?" Suna pressed. "You have no idea as to who is behind all this? Nothing at all?" She and the mercenary, assuming he had followed her, were now standing outside the church in Nairn. After their skirmishes with the reindeers and the yetis, they had come here to ask the mages at the church for answers...only to find that they knew even less than the couple did.
The male mage shrugged. "All we know is that those yetis have appeared out of nowhere and started attacking the town, so me and my brethren have been taking shifts in keeping the magical barrier up."
Suna had to admit, the man looked tired and haggard. She and Hans were not the only ones gathered there at the church, and she saw many fear-filled eyes and felt the tension in the air. They must have been bombarded with the townspeoples’ questions and concerns as well. They themselves wanted answers, too. Where were the Azure Deer knights during this time of trouble?
As if to answer her unspoken question, the mage added. "We did ask for the Azure Deers to come help us, so they are fully aware of our situation. They should be here any minute now..."
On that cue, the ground began to shake beneath her. "W-What? An earthquake?!" She ran outside the church, and saw people were running out of their houses as well. "Oh dear..." Panic and chaos was an all time high.
A gigantic shadow loomed over them, and Suna craned her head up, mouth falling wide open as she beheld the figure. A man. No, a titan. It was rumbling towards town, and everyone watched in horror as it stepped right down on one of the buildings on the outer edge of town, crushing it beneath its giant feet. It was just walking through town, leaving crushing destruction in its wake.
"I guess there’s our answer..." The church mage had rushed outside with everyone else, and Suna glimpsed several Azure Deer knights running towards their direction.
"Everyone! Please evacuate the town immediately!" One of the knights had shouted out the order, and the rest of the knights had begun to corral the people towards the other side of town. The church mages followed suit, helping the elderly and those with children exit the town as fast as they could.
A determined look was on the sound mage’s face, her lips pressed in a thin line. "Let’s go, Hans!" Whether the mercenary was going to follow her or not was up to him, but she was going. Without another word, she started running towards the giant.
"Miss, stay back!""Evacuation is that way!""It’s dangerous! Go back!" A few of the knights had cried out their warning to the blue-haired elf, but she only shook her head and kept going. Her actions were her responsibility. Nobody was going to stop them, not when everyone was running away from the titan. They would be the only ones running down the empty streets towards danger.
As Suna neared the red and white striped giant, she could smell the strong scent of peppermint. It looked like a harmless bumbling titan, but she knew looks could be deceiving. Since it was taller than a two story house, she knew there was no way she could fight it from the ground, so she whipped out her broom and took flight. They needed to contain this walking destruction as soon as possible. Every step it took meant another crumbled building, another destroyed house, another flattened store.
Rallentando. She hummed to summon her harp, and with her instrument in hand, started playing a slow and graceful song. Coda. Aura was also whirling around the elf, forming two of those magical swords. Both hovered next to her, ready to be launched out at a moment’s notice. She was more than ready to go in.

"When you spend so long trapped in darkness, you find that the darkness begins to stare back."
Hans stood there beside Suna with his arms crossed. He listened as his woman pressed on about the odd occurrences going on within this town to one of the citizens, but it appears that he was just as in the dark about all of this as well. The merc simply sighed and looked around at the other folks who were around the church. They were all very fearful and wanted answers as well. "What's with these attacks recently!?""Yeah I thought this was a peaceful town!""I just wanted to spend Yuletide with my family..." A barrage of questions and comments flooded the area until the man who called this meeting managed to calm them down before going back to speak to the blue elf.
The merc could understand where everyone was coming from with their frustrations. This was supposed to be a festive season, a time where no one should have to worry about violence, wars, or daemons...but their sense of security was taken away by these not so random attacks. It was clear that something...or someone was targeting this town, but no one seemed to have an answer. Not even the Azure Deer squad whose base is positioned in this town were able to shed some light, but at least they were on their way now to assist in whatever way they can.
Or at least they thought....
The ground beneath everyone had started to rumble! Others started mumbling to themselves worryingly while Hans looked at the ground then around his surroundings. The last "earthquake" he felt was back in Aries and that didn't end well. There were no sounds of bells jingling this time, but Hans started to look around for any festive looking buildings erecting from the ground...until he heard Suna's "Oh dear...". The merc looked at her before moving his head to where her baffled expression was focusing on, and his eyes nearly widened. "O-oh..."
A giant humanoid figure...seemingly made of candy cane was rampaging through town, destroying any building caught in its path! People were running in terror away from the monster, a lot of them screaming, and fearing for their lives. Azure Deer mages were trying their best to calm folks down as well as evacuate them out, unfortunately leaving no one to fight this titan...except for the mage couple.
Suna didn't even need to tell Hans to spring into action as he already had his hand on the hilt of his sheathed sword. "Right." He said with a nod before following behind. "We got this. Just focus on getting the others out." Hans said as he ran past those knights trying to stop them. Some of the Magic Knights didn't seem too happy about this, but they decided to let the two go and continued to focus on the citizens.
As the sound mage summoned her harp, the dark mage cast Corvi Armis and was coated in his dark armor. "Here." He then raised his palm towards Suna, and a dark aura started to surround her as well, forming into dark armor like his own except more feminine in appearance. They were up against a very tough foe, both in size and power, so he wanted to make sure that they would both be safe against this...mint-scented behemoth. The candy cane titan's mana was massive...but again felt familiar. Of course, it wasn't much of a surprise at this point. The merc just wanted to focus on beating this thing before any lives are lost.
As Suna took to the skies on her broom, Hans was just about to do the same with one of his golems...until he noticed something going on with the titan's legs. Parts of its legs had seemingly started to melt off without it losing any mass, but once the liquid-like pieces fell to the snowy ground, they started to shift and morph until they formed into various candy cane like abominations....its equivalent of golems. Just like the titan, the smaller ones were running amuck around where the titan was walking without much rhyme or reason. From the dark "smoke" around Hans' armor, the merc pulled a dark sword out and wasted no time rushing at one of the unsuspecting "golems", slashing it in half! But once Hans did that, something interesting happened....
The titan wailed in pain, its booming voice shaking the ground. Hans looked up, presumably seeing Suna in her own battle against the titan. Did she do something to it...or was it that "golem"? Wanting to test this again, Hans rushed at another one of those creatures that was too occupied ripping a carriage apart and impaled it in the back...with another wail coming from the titan. So those "golems" were still connected to it in some sense. The moment Hans put this together was also the same time the titan became aware of the annoying little mage around its foot. The titan rose one of its feet up, catching Hans' attention, and slowly hovered it over to the dark mage, an ominous shadow now looming over the guy. Not sure if his armor would be able to handle this, Hans started to run out of the way as the foot came down, leaping to the ground to completely getaway as the foot collided with the ground, rumbling the area while another building crumbled down under the titan's might!
Hans was able to get away from that strike, but some of those "golems" were now rushing at Hans, with one of them latching their candied fangs onto the merc's armored arm. It didn't hurt, but the beast had enough strength to rattle Hans around a bit. Then another bit the merc's leg and the two started to pull at opposite directions as if this was a game of tug of war. With his dark sword close by on the ground, Hans managed to grab it with his free hand and impaled it against the "golem's" side, enough to kill it. He then kicked the other "golem" off and chopped its head off, both "deaths" making the titan wail even more! With Hans on his feet again, he was just about to do battle with more of those "golems"...until they all formed back into the titan's legs. It may not be all that smart, but the titan appears to have at least saw this as a weakness and got rid of it. Now it was just the big guy, and Hans looked up at it, specifically to find where Suna was at.
It was time for him to get up there and give his lady some backup....

Did fluff damage to the titan. No actual damage yet.
Using their grimoire, the user forms an armor of darkness around themselves and/or others for defensive purposes. Through the dark feathery smoke surrounding the armor, the user can pull out a sword crafted from darkness for him or for others to use. The sword can be wielded like an ordinary weapon by anyone, but only the conjurer is capable of controlling them with their mana. The amount of armor and swords that can be summoned follows the ammo rules (Defense Buff will decrease to +6 Durability if more than one armor is summoned) (Spell gains +5 Durability)
Suna flew her magical broom straight and true towards the titan, while the mercenary had decided to attack from the ground. He had also coated her with his dark armor, a defense against whatever the enemy was going to throw at her. She smiled her thanks, but it was unlikely that he saw it from beneath the dark helmet. Just the feeling of his familiar magic over her gave her a mental boost. She could do this. They could do this.
Rallentando. Her harp was in hand, melody in tune, and blue mana was shooting out from underneath the enemy. Strands of sound magic wrapped themselves around the titan’s legs, effectively restraining and slowing it down. But it was not enough. The legs seemed to melt, forming small figures of itself down on the ground where the mercenary was. Parts of its body also seemed to break off, forming sharp candy cane shards, which it started hurling at her. She had to swerve her broom around in order to dodge those flying shards, but she was not fast enough and one of them caught her square on the stomach.
Suna winced...but then realized she did not feel any pain. If it were not for the armor around her, it would have definitely sliced through and out of her midsection. That would have been a hard spot to heal, with all the organs that came with it. But thankfully, Hans’ armor had saved her from that particular shard. That bolstered her confidence, but she knew she could not just hastily charge in, not even with the defensive suit around her. Shards were still flying, and she could not afford to get hit again.
Her two Coda swords floated next to her, ready to be launched out at a single order from the sound mage. She grabbed onto one of them, and used it to deflect the incoming candy cane missiles. From the corner of her eye, she saw Hans busy battling down on the ground, slicing and chopping down those mini golems as fast as they were formed. Then the titan roared in pain and agony, and lifted its foot to stomp down on the man down below. She grabbed that opening to attack. She sent her other floating magical swords hurling towards the torso, but just at that moment, the titan had turned slightly and it hit its arm instead. It wailed again in pain, but did not stop its destructive stomping.
Suna flew around the titan, arcing so she could attack from behind. It was too busy trying to crush the pesky mage down below, it did not seem to notice the fly buzzing around. With its back clearly open, she flew down towards it, Coda outstretched and aiming to drive it through its back. Her presence must have been too concentrated, however, because the titan suddenly looked up and turned around, its broad shoulder knocking against the flying elf. She only managed a scratch on its back before she collided with the enemy, sending her flying to the opposite direction.
Suna quickly regained her balance on her broom, her hand still tightly clutching onto her sword. She chanced a quick look down at the dark mage, who seemed to be fine for now. That was a relief. But, the same could not be said of the buildings around the area. Wherever it went, the titan left behind a rubble of destruction and disaster in its wake. This unfamiliar mana was becoming more familiar, but first, they had to stop it.
The little candy cane golems had stopped spawning from its legs, which was a good sign. However, it had started throwing those deadly shards again at her, even more intensely and thickly. She tried flying higher, then lower, but it followed her no matter where she flew. It was all she could do to block the barrage of dangerous candy with her sword. It was slowly driving her back, and her attention was so focused on shielding herself from those attacks, she did not see the tower she was being driven back against...

"When you spend so long trapped in darkness, you find that the darkness begins to stare back."
"Raven's Bite." Hans lifted up his greatsword and a dark coating surrounded the blade. The darkness "dripped" from the blade, dropping to the ground until it formed into two dark ravens. Before getting on one of them, Hans lowered his greatsword and looked up at the candycane monster. It appears that Suna was working her magic...literally as he took notice of her restraining spell around it. Although Hans' restrain spells are more durable, Suna's is able to pack a punch which the merc has witnessed back with those deer and even before that. It didn't appear to be doing as much to this monster, however, making it all the more menacing...despite its sweet appearance.
The merc climbed up onto the back of one of his raven golems and with the use of his mana tethers, he commanded both his ravens to take to the skies. Now that those candy "golems" were seemingly dealt with, Hans can now properly assist the sound mage in this.
Hans noticed that he wasn't the only one having trouble as he witnessed Suna being tailed by candy shards. They didn't appear to be anything like those "golems" Hans faced, but they were still a problem with that homing of theirs. Then suddenly as he reached around the same level as the elf, the candycane monster glanced over in the dark mage's direction and commanded fired more of those shards from its body! Now Hans was in the middle of being chased as well, using his golem to fly away! The merc slid his greatsword back into its sheath as his golem maneuvered around in an attempt to lose those shards, but it didn't matter where he went. Over buildings, between them, through some of the destroyed ones, Hans couldn't shake them no matter how hard he tried!
Back up in the sky again, Hans looked back to see that those shards were getting closer, making him grit his teeth. But as those pesky shards neared....the merc's second golem flew between it and the dark mage, taking the hit! The golem staggered a bit but it was still able to keep itself together. Hans then turned his first golem around, taking advantage of this opening to fly at the monster with his dark sword drawn again from his armor. He didn't get to look before but now he could see that the monster has received a lot of noticeable damage, courtesy of Suna. It was now Hans' turn to strike...or so he thought.
Approaching the monster, Hans noticed from the corner of his eyes that Suna was fending of more of those shards with her magic swords, but it looks like she's about to be backed into a wall...or rather building. Not only that but said building still had some people within, three to be exact! Two were by a shattered window screaming for help, while the third was dangling for their life from a broken balcony! Seeing all of this, Hans thought fast and glanced back at his second golem. "Save them, and bring them to the other citizens." he commanded before pointing at those three. The second raven flew away from Hans and was now heading towards them while the merc still had his dark sword in hand, heading towards Suna.
"H-Help me, I'm about to fa-" the dangling citizen screamed as he lost his handle on the broken balcony, but instead of falling to his death...he landed back first on the raven that swooped in just in time. "H-huh?" The man sighed in relief as the golem slowly hovered up so that those other two people could safely get on. It then headed off to where the Azure Deer are evacuating the citizens to drop them off.
Meanwhile....
"Suna." Hans was drawing in on his lady, and with his dark sword, he sliced through the shards that were coming her way, helping get rid of them. He then hovered beside her, standing up on his golem, and gave her a nod before facing the monster which once again roared! Its attention was on the couple now, and it looked none too pleased....
The merc flew off towards the monster once again with his grimoire glowing and the dark blade on his spell constructed sword getting darker. The candy monster attempted to swat Hans away, but with its slow movements which were made even slower, Hans was able to fly under that hand with ease before flying back up towards its face. "Chaos Slash." Hans gave the monster one good slash to the side of its face, leaving a wound there that is also coated in darkness. The monster took a step back and wailed at the pain...but then it retaliated by firing a barrage of those candy shards at Hans again, all hitting him since he's at point-blank! They weren't doing damage, but they were certainly pushing him back, making it harder for him to get any closer again! "Dammit..." he muttered as he rose his armored arm up over his hidden face.

This candy cane titan. Such a bumbling and sweet giant, yet destructive at the same time. Her Rallentando restraining spell was still slowing it down, but it was not enough. And those candy cane shards...they hone in wherever she went, not losing her even when she tried to dodge. The only way was to deflect them with her magical sword Coda, but if she faltered for even a second, she would get hit. She was steadily being pushed back, back towards a building. The female did not know until her back hit something solid, jarring and momentarily stunning her.
One of the shards flew and buried itself in her arm. She yelped, and winced in pain as she immediately pulled it out in one swift motion. Thankfully, the dark armor around her had taken the brunt of the damage, but it did not stop the physical pain that came with it. She did not look down to see if it had drawn any blood—the candy barrage was still ongoing. Focus. She needed to focus.
She heard the sound of glass shattering near her, then frantic shouts. Her eyebrows scrunched together into a worried frown. Oh, no, why were there still people in the buildings? They should have evacuated ages ago. She was currently occupied with fending off these shards, she could not do anything else except shout out, "Hold on!"
From out of the corner of her eye, Suna saw two dark figures flying about. It must be Hans’ raven golems, and for a while, they were both engaged in the fight against the candy cane monster. But now, she heard the mercenary call out something to them, and they came flying over to save the civilians who were behind her. Even in the thick of battle, he was still sensitive and alert to the welfare and safety of those around him. That was good, as her hands were currently tied, and her arms were getting tired from blocking all the incoming missiles. Was there no end to this?
She felt Hans flying closer and helping her slash through some of the flying food, but dared not keep her eyes off the attacks. Then he was going straight for the titan, and with its attention momentarily diverted, she formed another aura sword. Then she saw it fire its shards point blank at the mercenary, and she saw red.
With a cry, the elf threw her second sword, aiming it at the titan’s head. She flew right behind it, her other sword pointed straight at the enemy’s heart. Her thrown sword caught it by its temple, and a second later, her other sword was buried in its chest. The monster had reeled to the side when her first sword struck, stopping the barrage of shards. The second one had it wailing in pain, and its hand came down to grab the elf.
"Ah!" Suna felt herself being crushed in its fist...then it loosened and she felt herself falling. She waved her arms around blindly, but touched nothing but air. With a graceless "oommph!" she landed in a pile of snow, leaving a deep imprint. The titan! Did it work? She sat up and her eyes snapped toward the large hulking figure, which was also down in the snow, but unlike her, it was not moving.
"Yay! We did it!" She raised an arm in the air, but then winced. "Ow ow ow..." She gingerly stood up and brushed herself off, then rubbed her bottom which she had landed on. The snow had cushioned much of her fall, but it still hurt. But at least the enemy was down. Suna looked around for the dark mage, who was no doubt somewhere nearby. Then everywhere started to hurt, and she made a face.
If Hans wanted to say something to her, she would hold a hand up. "Wait wait, let me heal both of us up first." Accarezzevole. She started humming a certain pitch, and her sound magic swirled around them like a warm embrace. If he would allow it, her spell would also wrap itself around him, healing and cleansing him of any injuries he may have received.
Just as Suna finished up healing, the temperature in the air would suddenly plummet...
- fine - (for now)

"When you spend so long trapped in darkness, you find that the darkness begins to stare back."
A barrage of candy-coated shards continued to bombard the armored merc without letting up! Hans tried his best to push through and attack the titan, but there was just too much being fired at him, preventing the merc from going forward. The majority of the shards just bounced off of the dark mage's armor, but a few managed to pierce it ever so slightly, enough to get stuck in the armor. Raising his dark sword up, Hans was now trying to deflect these things, but no matter how many he was able to tear through, more just kept coming, and took their place!
Hans continued to deflect whatever he could as he tried to quickly come up with an alternative. Perhaps he could try calling his second golem back for a sneak attack, it seems like a good idea. But as the merc was about to use his mana tethers...the shards stopped. The moment he didn't see nor feel those shards, Hans lowered his sword and his free arm from over his face and looked up. There was a familiar-looking aura crafted sword sticking out of the titan's temple. The dark mage's head quickly turned just in time to see the sound mage pierce the titan's chest with her other sword. Hans smirked under his armor, impressed at the precise strikes the elf has taken.
But then the candy monster wailed....
Without warning, the giant caught Suna in its hand, and the merc's head immediately perked up. "Suna!" Hans rushed towards her with his golem, prepared to cut the titan's arm off, until he noticed its grip loosening, and suddenly it was falling...they both were.
The merc wasted no time in commanding his golem to dive down after the elf, but he wasn't able to make it in time....she dropped...
....into a pile of snow, fortunately!
Hans' heart nearly stopped, but a deep sigh of relief escaped his lips as he saw her still moving. As the man's golem landed on the ground, the dark mage jumped off and was about to head over to Suna until he heard and felt a loud rumbling crash! He turned to see that it was the titan falling over, landing on a few buildings as the impact kicked up some dirt and snow. Hans looked at the downed giant and tried to sense its mana. Nothing...The candy behemoth was vanquished. His attention then went back to the blue-haired titan slayer, hearing her briefly celebrate before wincing a bit. Hans headed over and was about to ask if she were okay, but then she cut him off. She used one of her healing spells to fix them both up, and even though Hans didn't really need any healing, the soothing feeling of the woman's healing spells were always a nice welcome.
The concerned look on Hans' face as he removed his defense spell from both of them slowly shifted to that small smile of his as he gave a nod. "More like you did it." the merc claimed. She was the one who dealt the finishing blows to that titan, and deep down, Hans thought it was... kind of hot seeing his woman take down such an...arguably menacing foe. Now he knows how she feels...
Summoning his golems back to the greatsword, Hans was going to say something else...until he noticed a sudden shift in the temperature....the area around the couple.... now growing colder.
