Eve's explanation of the color coding of her sensory spell was met with a brief nod to show understanding.
June's brows rose at the appearance of the Ryuutei wraith. It was fitting that the dead continued to protect the living in such a way, given the clan's traditions concerning death and dying. Chi was striking, though he looked as though he had seen better days. His light banter with her fiancé brought a slight smirk to the noblewoman's face.
She managed to reply to the wraith with a quick, "And an honor to make your acquaintance," before he vanished.
Another look at the map revealed that Chi had already begun the evacuation process. The clusters of white dots moving away from where the fighting would take place were a testament to how quickly the wraith worked.
"I will take the patrols on closest to the stronger enemy. You should start with the ones that are the furthest away. There is more distance between them which suits your ambush style. I should be able to dispatch four or five at a time on my own. Therefore, I'll wait a bit to give you time to get started before I begin targeting them. For now, I'll observe their movements and attempt to lead them away from the strongest one if I'm noticed."
June drew her sword. Between her abilities with the Bastard and her golems, she could make quick work of a large number of these enemies.
"In an ideal scenario, you'll manage to kill two or three of them before you're noticed. Once they begin to head towards your location I can use my golems and defense creation spells to heard them and create a bottleneck. That will restrict their movements and allow me to use my defensive spells with the most utility. These creatures won't survive more than one or two attempts to get past my defenses. If timed correctly, we can remove between a quarter and a third of the weaker enemies from the field in short order."
As she spoke, June used the tip of her sword to point out how the streets could be blocked off to force enemies to either split up and travel further to get at Eve or go through the bottleneck their plan would create on Cityscape.
"After that, if we can control their movements, we should be able to eliminate all of them within two or three waves of enemies attempting to force their way past the choke point. If they fail to notice us, we will simply use ambush tactics until they do."
A short pause followed while June considered the plain she laid out. In contrast with Eve's growing anxiety, the shorter woman was cool and calm if not a bit stiff. Rather than get too worked up, she became focused. She was confident in her and Bengal's abilities. The extent of Eve's strength was still an unknown to her but the Silva knew that the purple-haired woman didn't have any weaknesses that she or Bengal could not compensate for.

Satori's mana flared as the large man shot across the sky after the two women separated. Eyes focusing on the source of the large cluster of ki that he could now detect as he grew closer. Twisted and wrong, the natural ki of these Daemon was always disturbing to feel. A slow breath passed between his lips as the large man cracked his knuckles, relaxing his muscles as he focused on what was ahead.
The connection Chi had to him caused his mind to briefly blank as the voice filled his mind.
"Almost finished. Once I wrap up should I go an' help tha' girls, or need me with ya', Saa?" The spirit asked simply while Satori grunted, banking his wings once as he paused in the air. Examining the large ki signature below him before his hands opened, causing mana to rapidly funnel between his fingers before summoning up the spell itself.
"Come to me once you're done, but check on them so I know when they're done as well. You can head in this direction as a group, and then we'll handle them as a quartet." Satori's reply was met with silent agreement from the spirit as Chi began to flash across the grounds. Examining the two young women's own jobs, while Satori focused on his current job. Focusing on the large building below him where the twisted ki originated from.
There were seven other signatures within it as well. The ki was human, but twisted. Not yet corrupted, however. Possessed then? A slow breath passed between his lips. If they had to die, so be it. An enemy was an enemy, and the root problem was his main focus for now. Resigned to wait for the two girls, he tucked his hands into his jacket pockets. Wings beating occasionally, all he could do was wait for now.

Eve listened closely as June laid out the plan, occasionally nodding as she did so to indicate that she was hearing and understanding the instructions. There wasn’t really anything that was being said that was outside her comfort zone, and it played to their strengths perfectly. She then smirked slightly as the woman finished her plan, the large wings springing from her back and with a practiced motion, stretching a bit before lifting her out of the skyboat technique that June was using and into the air, lingering for just a moment more to deliver a little bit of confident sass.
“Oh no… I won’t be discovered at all. If I have, I’m leading them to you, so get ready.” She flashed the smaller woman another toothy smile before lifting up and out of general sight, getting to work immediately. The faster she took down these things, the faster Satori could deal with the leader, and the faster that this entire area would be able to begin the healing process. That, and she didn’t want to keep them waiting, even if she was only able to deal with one at a time. The way they were spaced out was perfect, and none of them were looking skyward, so it wasn’t like she wouldn’t be able to handle this and get away unscathed at all.
It took a moment to identify which one she wanted to destroy, but after a short moment to assess, she folded her wings close to her body and dove like a stone through the air, only using the tips of the wings to make small course corrections as she streaked across the sky like a missile. The creature must have heard her, but by the time it realized something was coming, it was far too late; at the last moment, Eve tucked and flipped, powerful legs ending in talons coming to bear coupled with her momentum and weight, planting into the creature’s shoulders with such force that she drove most of its skeletal structure into the ground, crushing it entirely and compacting the thing into the ground with a muffled crunch of bones.
Almost instantly, she rose again, the talons digging into the corpse, able to tell that absolutely nothing was alive as she rose into the air. She looked, noting that June was making her defensive preparations a short distance away, having made the perfect chokepoint to bottleneck the creatures… all that was left was to lure them to their deaths. Once she was centered properly, and it looked like June was ready, she took in a deep breath, looking around at the various undead, and let out a short but piercing whistle. Once she had the creature’s attention, she proceeded to rip the corpse that she had in her talons in half, and then dive towards June as she tossed the corpses aside.
Landing near June, she kicked and rid herself of the foul blood on her talons, followed by squaring her shoulders. She was standing on top of what looked like a ruined pillar of some kind, watching as the slow but strong creatures made their way towards them, funneling quite nicely naturally as they came to kill the purple-haired woman. “Hope you’re ready… here they come…” she said, smiling as she crouched. Just because most of it was probably going to be handled by June didn’t mean that Eve was going to just stand back and let it happen; she would continue doing her part, and wait for a target of opportunity, as well as any relevant instructions from June to what she needed the dark-skinned woman to do.

June's brows twitched upwards at Eve's confidence, but she made no comment before the woman took off with the brilliant white wings Satori granted her. The noble directed her transport spell to carry her across the rooftops while she got a general visual on the area below. She spotted the occasional miserable undead stalking the streets with uncoordinated movements. They staggered forward with blank expressions on their faces as though they had never once had an individual thought. And they stunk.
The Magic Knight's nose crinkled in disgust at the creatures. She swooped down River Step to put a few of them out of their misery and to test their strength. Four unfortunate damned fell to June's sword, their heads rolling away or torsos simply falling to the ground after their bodies were bisected horizontally. They were faster than the petite woman was on foot, to their credit, but they were still far too sluggish to keep up with her transport spell.
River Step simply flowed around each downed enemy, picking up the dead as passengers to take with her so that there was no evidence of her presence left behind. After taking care of the stragglers and surveying the area, June rested a hand over her grimoire and called upon her magic to erect several towering bubbles of water to block off the roads. She made sure to deposit the bits of the undead's corpses in easy to see areas to ensure that the enemies would come her way.
Svalinn was large; each defense creation spell covered an eighty meter radius. June left a single road open, leading towards yet another instance of Svalinn, where she stood, ready to challenge any who crossed her path. Casting her most powerful defense creation spell so many times drained her mana significantly, but June could already feel herself recovering a bit.
Eve's appearance was met with a brief smirk before June focused on the incoming horde. Not only were the Magic Knight's spells flashy and large, the purple-haired woman had also managed to draw quite a bit of attention to herself.
June dismissed her transport spell to save mana for the time being. Having judged the creatures' strength, she knew that there was no need to move from within her defense creation spells. They wouldn't be able to break through the Silva's defenses.
After a short recovery, she could speed along the process to kill the enemies efficiently as possible with a combination of her golems and her defense spells.
"I am more or less prepared to face the masses. Their strength is not so great that either of us need worry that they might breach Svalinn even with their numbers. I will need a short rest, however, before I should cast again."
Sweat beaded on June's forehead from expending so much of her mana rapidly. After growing accustomed to spells which hardly caused a noticeable drain, this was a new feeling. Her breathing had gotten heavier as well.
Description: A stream of water, not unlike a miniature river, surrounds June and up to four other people’s feet and carries them. Any passengers on this stream of water have all wounds up to [Senior] healed after remaining on the construct for a full post. The max damage healed drops by one rank per person healed. June’s allies regenerate [15 Mana] per post while on the construct. Name of Spell: Svalinn
Description: An orb formed of condensed water particles surrounds June and/or her allies. The orb is large, silver in color and translucent. Svalin has [Grand] health and can heal up to a [Senior] healing spell’s worth of damage after one post, following standard healing rules (this is reduced to [Intermediate] when healing multiple targets). When this shield is placed around an ally, the ally regenerates [20 Mana] per post. Those that attack this shield suffer [Senior] damage from thin streams of ultra-concentrated water attempting to pierce them.

"Alright, tha' weaklin's are all evacuated, I'm headin' toward tha' girls," Chi's words filled Satori's mind, causing the man to grunt once before shifting his gaze toward the large ki beneath him. A single woman sat atop a throne of burned timbers and bone, she hadn't noticed him yet. So her actual sensory capabilities appeared to be relatively limited, at least in comparison to his own stealth capabilities.
Sensually dressed, horned, female in shape, humanoid and using her magic to manipulate the minds of the commoners. Enhancing them with negative mana at a guess. He shook his head slightly with a slow sigh.
-- Meanwhile, Chi flickered along the grounds with his hands crackling in electricity. A wide grin adorning his lips as he enjoyed the sensation of simply getting to run again. Launching through the air and flipping from one house to the next. Saa couldn't support him for long, but if he could enjoy what he had, that would be enough. Flickering foward he skidded to a halt and offered a wide grin while his mana pulsed around him. Focusing on the blood around him, before locating the two women quickly. They were making quick work of things at least.
Flashing toward them, Chi made it a point to reach them quickly. After all, this was their show for now. He was still far, far too weak to be of any real use. Hopefully, that would change with time, however.

Eve was wary at the moment, noting the sweat on June’s brow and how her breathing was a bit labored; she was winded, and rightfully so considering the massive spell she had cast, something that Eve was in absolute awe of. She had so much power and commanded things that put Eve to shame. The dark skinned woman was not oblivious to the corpses that were piled in the corner either; she had managed to slay four of them in the time for Eve to kill a single target and lure the rest of them here. She summoned her Cityscape again and showed what was happening; so far it was working like a charm. The enemies were funneling their direction, and they had somehow manage not to draw the attention of the big enemy that Satori was likely observing. They needed to wrap up quickly though so they could join him and assist if needed in taking down the main enemy.
Eve nodded at the assessment that June gave and readied her claws. “Recover a bit. I’ll buy you some time.” And with that said, she dashed forward to the mass of enemies approaching them, looking at the first one and gritting her sharpened teeth. It wasn’t her normal strategy, taking on an enemy head-on, but she knew she needed to practice exactly that, and these enemies were so slow in comparison to her that she was in almost no danger of being overwhelmed. She would simply slow them down or force them to interact with the defensive spells, and kill as many as she could. It looked like the blunette needed the breather anyway, so this was the best course of action anyway tactically as well.
She came in a blur, flickering before the creature down low and mid-spin, sweeping the creature’s legs out from under it, the force of the kick lifting the creature into the air as Eve move in. Her objective was to kill this one, but slow down the ones behind it without putting herself at risk, and that meant that she could use the body of this victim as a shield. A strike raked through the creature as her claws came to bear, then another, and another swipe tore through it. In a flurry of slashes, she tore the creature asunder and sent what was left as projectiles at the remaining creatures behind it, which would take time for them to recover from. She hadn’t really done any damage to the others, but slowing them down meant that June would likely have a great plan right about now. Darting backwards and clearing the line of sight for her happened almost instantly, as though she had never left.
Chi had arrived and would be reinforcing them it looked like, causing Eve to smile viciously. “Let’s wrap this up so we can go watch Satori ruin this Daemon’s day, shall we?” she asked a bit coy, absolutely confident that they would be able to do so soon. Eve was growing used to combat, and a part of her was thrilled by how things were turning out so far in this battle. But more so, she was excited by the idea of watching Satori fight and actually need to put true effort into the battle, something she hadn’t witnessed before.

Once her spells were cast, maintaining them was simple. June pulled out her handkerchief with her free hand and wiped away the sweat that had collected on her forehead before it could begin to drip down her face. Then, she stowed the cloth away in one of her pockets. A few deep breaths later, and the water mage had more or less collected herself.
By that time, Eve had already ripped another damned to shreds and tossed the bits of the corpse at the ones behind it to slow them.
"Don't worry about slowing them down, Eve." June straightened her posture and held her sword at the ready. "The sooner they try to breach my defenses the better."
The purple-haired woman had seen her senior level defense creation spells in action, but Svalinn was in another class on its own. June watched Eve's sensory spell, noticing that a few of the dark dots had run up against the defense creation spells she'd set up to block off the streets surrounding them. The little lights representing them flickered out of existence shortly after the dots made contact with the blue circles representing June's defense spells.
"As you'll see by observing this spell of yours, maintaining these defense creation spells alone is enough of a challenge for them." The Magic Knight spoke with confidence, all signs of tiredness disappearing behind her ego.
Now was not the time to show weakness.
More undead filed into the street June left unblocked, staggering towards the pair of mages. The short noblewoman watched them with a look of disdain. They were disgusting creatures and staining her sword with their ichor-like blood was unpleasant. Nevertheless, she and Eve would eliminate them all. It was only a matter of time.
June stood at the inner edge of the barrier she'd erected, waiting for more to approach. Quickly, she stabbed one when it got with in reach and flung it back. The body skipped along the ground a few times, causing a few more undead to trip over it. The next to approach was beheaded. Two more were cut in half before the short knight stepped back.
A few of the undead attempted to charge Svalinn, moving faster than before. Their attacks proved to be not only useless, but fatal as well. Thin, streams of high pressure water pierced their bodies more quickly than they could retreat. When the streams of water dissipated, there were holes clean through the bodies as they crumbled.
The quick deaths of their peers didn't bother the undead but it did give them pause, if only for a moment.
June turned toward Cityscape to determine the location of the remaining damned to make sure there weren't any that simply hadn't shown up to the fight still wandering about. Her turned back elicited yet another futile attack that ended in yet another zombie falling to the cobblestone, riddled with holes.
"Tch," the noblewoman sucked her teeth. "They seem to lack basic thinking skills. Six more of these creatures remain. The two that are approaching us now and a few more that are about to round the corner. We can take them all in a few coordinated attacks," June informed her compatriot. "Though this is dragging on longer than I would like, I need to conserve my energy for our next fight."
As she said this, the Silva's eyes focused on the large dark mark on Eve's sensory spell, narrowing in displeasure.

"They're coming. They've done well." Chi's voice echoed within his mind, causing him to grunt softly as his mana suddenly unfurled. The wave of pressure crushing down on the entire area, causing static electricity to begin crackling along the air. Beneath them, the woman lurched forward in surprise at the raw magic while Satori's eyes remained relaxed. Looking down at the woman coldly from his position high in the sky.
The last time he'd attacked them, he'd been so concerned with defeating them, with fear of what they could do, that he'd overestimated them vastly. Now he knew, however. These were not the ones capable of harming his father. No, they were just...
"Weak." Satori's voice boomed from above, his mana rippling out in a beacon of silver light that caused the creatures around her to fall back and lift hands. Groaning in pain from the raw difference before he began to slowly fall from the sky, slamming into it and straightening as his hands flexed a few times slowly. Walking toward her casually as he felt Eve and June's ki moving toward him at high speeds, they'd appear quickly. The woman however, was different. She didn't cower, nor puff up her chest.
In fact she almost appeared excited. Lavish, physically attractive, seductive, her body sat up slowly as long silver tresses ran nearly to the ground yet didn’t appear to attract any dirt or grime. Lush black lips parting as one finger pressed to her bottom lip, small fangs clicking against its pointed tip.
“Oh now you’re just perfect,” the woman purred softly, slowly rising. One arm rising to push her lush chest that much further out, the other hand at her hip as her eyes fell heavy-lidded.
“My name is Yersina, handsome, what about you? Why not join me, I’d love to be yours.” Yersina purred, her voice like honey. Every aspect of her was the pinnacle of classical beauty. Flawless pale skin, an hourglass figure, a perfect smile, an honeyed, exotic voice. Beautiful crimson eyes and long, flawless silver hair. She would put most models to shame, and she knew it with her coy little smile. Her steps carried her closer to Satori, hips swaying with each step as she neared. The perfect beauty. Not hot-blooded male could ever turn her down--
The sound of bone cracking filled the air, and her vision was suddenly blurry. Looking out over the side of the town in confusion, then the pain hit. Her scream filled the air as she fell back, holding her now-broken jaw and noise in utter confusion and pain. For the first time in her life, she was faced with a man that didn’t look at her with attraction, nor disinterest. No. The shine of anger in Satori’s eyes was disgust.
He had… no magic active? Her eyes widened as she stared at the hand that was still raised from the backlash of his smack. He’d simply smacked her. Yet the blood wouldn’t stop coming. Her neck was in agony, had he fractured that as well? Her jaw and facial bones were broken outright. She tried to step back, and began to fall instead. The world spinning.
How could a mere human--without even using his magic--
The world began to grow dark, and then went white as a searing pain flooded her chest from behind. Blood burst from her lips, eyes wide in shock at the clawed hand sticking out of her own chest.
"You... cannot die yet," he murmured coldly, hand extending and grasping her face suddenly. Healing magic flooding her, keeping her on the brink of death as her eyes batted in confusion and shock with Eve's hand through her chest.
"You couldn't of even scratched my father. Where is the strongest of you scavengers?" Satori murmured coldly, staring down into the woman's eyes as blood dripped down from her lips, before a twisted smile formed on her lips.
"You... really are perfect... how sad you're... on the wrong side..." a slow, weak breath passed her lips. "Seek out... the Diamond..." she murmured softly, her eyes flickering as the healing magic ran its course. Leaving nothing but a corpse.

Hearing the comment from June caused the dark-skinned woman to nod in understanding, wanting the damned creatures before her to die quickly so they could rejoin Satori in his fight. But alas, there was a single problem, and that was that she wasn’t the type to leave a job half-done, and they had been tasked with eradicating these things before they could move on. She was right though; the moment that the creatures impacted the Svallinn spell, they promptly ceased to exist. But that was when she noticed that the dot that was Satori flared back to life; stealth was over it seemed. The fight was about to begin.
Gritting her teeth, she watched as June handled the masses of the undead with ease, easily tearing through multiple scores of them without so much as pausing, and even dealing with some personally using her sword. Once again the purple-haired woman felt a smidge jealous of the smaller woman’s raw power and equipment but didn’t let the feeling rise to the surface. Now wasn’t the proper time or place. But that was when she felt something gnawing at her, something warning her that she needed to assist Satori. Why would she… no, it wasn’t fear for his safety. It was something else. Some other type of threat. June wanted to save her energy for the next fight, but Eve wasn’t entirely certain that they had the time.
“I have a bad feeling about this…” she said as she dispelled the Cityscape spell for now; she knew where Satori and his enemy was, and all the undead that were left were now within view of the pair. She was torn, but only for a moment, as her logic fought her instincts as to what she needed her next course of action to be. She had to trust her gut; it had never failed her before, and it had ensured she had survived in encounters that otherwise would have killed her instantly. She hated to do what she was about to, but there was little choice.
“I got a really bad feeling about the fight Satori is in. I’m going to go help him… I’m not well suited for handling mobs anyway, and you got this scuffle in the bag. I’ll meet you there.” With that her wings opened up and flapped powerfully once, lifting her into the air for a moment, and then again, taking off like a rocket towards Satori and the fight he was handling. Her tone when she had spoken to June had been one that was immensely worried, although even Eve herself wasn’t entirely sure what she was worried about. She certainly knew Satori could handle himself in a fight… so what was this feeling of dread she couldn’t shake?
As they came into view, she noted that the woman was sitting up, looking directly at Satori, and she quickly dove and silently moved behind her, just close enough to make out what was being said without being discovered. Thus far, the female Daemon seemed unaware of her presence. And then suddenly she heard the woman trying to lure Satori into joining her, offering her body as compensation even. Eve felt an unexplainable fury rise in her chest, stronger than anything. Satori didn’t belong to this bitch… no, he belonged to June and Eve. In her emotionally driven state, she didn’t even have time to comprehend that she was being possessive of him just as much as she was protecting the relationship between June and Satori.
Eve had moved faster than she ever had before and straightened a hand, pointed claws at the tip turning her hand into a sword that drove into the Daemon’s flesh, stabbing completely through, her golden eyes not the normal cold and calculated that they were in combat, but instead, a pair of blazing suns, ignited by rage, her mouth in a vicious snarl that showed off her pointed teeth. She hadn’t even heard the woman speaking to Satori with her final breaths, but hesitated in retracting her bloody hand until she felt the creature’s body go completely still, devoid of life.
Withdrawing her hand, she stood over the corpse for a moment, teeth still bared… but the rage began to die down. As it did so, instead of a torrent of emotions, she instead had to deal with the logic of processing her actions and trying to figure out why she had been so powerfully driven by the idea of ending this creature that was trying to lure Satori. He had proven that he wasn’t going to be swayed by such things, and yet her instincts told her that, beyond any logical reason, that she had been a threat to the relationship of June, Satori… and herself. She began to wipe off the blood from her hands, but her expression was confused and withdrawn, and her normal sassy comments were missing entirely.

June looked over at Eve, surprised at the woman's sudden shift in demeanor. She watched the woman go without comment despite not truly believing there was a need to rush. Bengal was strong enough to kill the most powerful enemy present on his own. Somehow, after the first mission the trio had done together, Eve had yet to realize Bengal's strength. Her own trust in the man's abilities was a matter of experience rather than faith. Either way, it wouldn't make a difference.
Two more damned crashed into June's defenses and were promptly impaled by the high-pressure streams of water that Svalinn emitted. The noblewoman let all the defense spells fade after that. Eve had been partially right, the remaining undead were within June's ability to handle alone. Drawing on her mana once more, the short woman summoned River Step, using the transport spell to move faster than any of the zombies could, beheading them neatly as she rode past.
With the last of the minor enemies downed, she directed River Step to carry her in the direction that Eve had flown off in. June arrived just in time to see Eve shoving her hand through the daemon's back and Bengal using healing magic to draw out the creature's last moments long enough for her to utter a few words.
She allowed the water surrounding her feet to fade away, the strain of maintaining her most powerful spells catching up to her. The noblewoman's breathing was a bit heavier than normal and her forehead gleamed with a layer of sweat from the fight before. Glancing between Eve, Bengal, and the daemon corpse, the short woman debated putting off asking Eve about her outburst.
"Truly Eve, have you no faith in Bengal?"
June pulled out yet another handkerchief to pat away the moisture from her face. She closed her eyes for a moment and let her breathing slow back to its normal pace. Her stamina needed work.
"No matter. I presume there's more work yet to be accomplished?"
After a few blinks, the noblewoman sheathed her sword to let her arm rest a bit. Her reserves were lower than she would like, but given a bit of time, June was confident she could recover almost fully.

Satori shifted his vision down toward the dead Daemoness as she passed into the void, releasing a low grunt of annoyance before stretching his arms above his head and relaxing his control. Shifting his gaze instead toward Eve as the woman stood there, burning with rage causing the large man to blink a few times slowly. Anger and confusion rippled off her through his ki, causing his eyes to lower slightly.
"Eve, it's alright," he murmured to her gently, lifting a hand and petting her shoulder once. It was a careful movement, gentle toward the dark-skinned woman before he straightened and glanced toward June as she arrived atop her water. Nodding his head once in agreement to her question.
"Yes, but not before a moment of rest. Recover your mana, Flower. I'll fly you." He leaned down, scooping the bluenette up into his arms simply and kissing her forehead once in approval to her actions.
"You've both done fantastically." He stated with a simple smile, before his wings burst with wings once more. Propelling him into the sky with a crack of them both.
