Their hair is a light peach orange, darkening to a more intense orange in the shadows and shimmering yellow where the light shines. His skin is pale and soft, a birthmark under his right eye. They enjoy wearing loose clothing as it allows for easier movements, preferring long sleeved button up shirts and loose slacks. The pants are typically secured with a red colored belt, the shoes red and socks white. His eyes are a deathly pale pink color coloration and a bit large, the pupils being unusually pale. His eyelashes are thick and normal sized.



His voice is normally soft and spoken with a tune. It's easy for the individual to find a tune in something, like the dancing of the pattering rain, whispering rush of the wind, or singing among the birds. There is a certain joy in listening to the music that is in everything, for this person it feels that every note of a tune brings him closer to understanding the flow of life. They currently believe that a mix of information from any and all reliable sources and methods is the only way to understand everything. Books, the music of life, and actual experience are his main methods of gaining that understanding. While gentle hearted and holding a deep fear of violence, hes more than capable of fighting if the need arrives. Aggressive body language and certain types of loud sounds tend to gain a negative response from him. Typically relies on sign language when they can, as physically talking tends to take mental energy from him for reasons not fully understood by himself, only that it's psychological.



His father was a normal man at some point, or so it had been told to them by family as much. He gave into addictions as soon as his wife died from sickness, like part of him was lost with her. The changes were intense enough that an aunt took custody of the child. All of this happened while the boy was still quite young, causing a few complications. Memories of the good times before the abuse are far and few between due to how young the boy had been at the time of their making and the effort their mind put into blocking the negative ones that happened after. The mother that had been so kind became barely a wisp in the mind, as well as ones before the father had lost himself. Family had been hoping they stepped in soon enough to leave trauma out, but it had gone on much longer than they had expected. Any loud voices tended to cause him to cry or curl up as a child after that point, a sad fate for someone who was born with a love of music in a family that thrived from beautiful sounds. The boys own magic had gone silent for years, along with their voice. After a few years they stopped crying and curling up to sounds, though it took longer for the individual to begin speaking again. Their love of music never faded through the trauma and inner silence, but rather morphed it. In having a silent soul, they could better hear the magic that roamed in every inch of life. The ability to listen to the inner music was, from every grain of rice to nobility glad in silks and silver was a very healing experience for Joseph. It made him want to help and support others, to become a conductor that could make the protectors of the kingdom even more mighty. As a young adult they speak, interact, and for the most part has become a fully functional adult. He has worked hard and plans to continue to do so.

His first mentor was Naxel Blake in Azure Deer, whom vanished a little after a certain water event in Raque. Still being very new, he had to learn most of their skills and methods on their own. At some point after the Kikka event that involved two twin deamons and the twins deamon parent he found out that his mothers original name was Yaling Shengxiao from the rooster branch of the Shengxiao family. She grew up with a silver spoon of wealth and privilege, but also was born with a rare disease that causes the life and magic to drain from a person every time they speak. She gave away her name and title as a noble to marry a commoner. She used the majority of her wealth on treatment while continuing to sing endlessly, even while pregnant. This caused Joseph to be born mute and deaf. The illegal and immoral means she paid to have her child go under was hidden from her husband until after the fact. This event is one of the main reasons behind Josephs memory issues, but he has begun understanding that it is the main cause behind the intense disconnect from understanding himself better. He left the Azure Deer, having a brief mental breakdown before talking with Zaven Blake. This long discussion eventually lead to him joining the Golden Dawn. Though Josephs mind recovered, they haven't looked at things the same since.
