The moon was high in the sky and the night sky cried down with a torrent of rain. It was nice outside earlier that day, however that weather was clearly dead and gone. Echo would find himself up above on the rooftops, in the town of Sosshi. He found himself here more than he did at home, as this is where the organization he worked for known as Shadow Broker chose to always meet him. Even when a meeting wasn’t possible they would leave his order’s at the old abandoned house right at the city outskirts, where he had first met them. Actually that’s exactly what he was doing a few hours ago before he got here, at the very house getting a letter with further orders.
The letter was a little different than the last few, it had a special seal on it one he was unfamiliar with. When he opened the letter a bit of magic dust would fly out of the envelop and fly right into Echo’s face. After smelling the aroma coming from the dust Echo began to hear words in his head. Not words as if he had a inner voice telling him to do crazy things, but words as in there was a message being delivered through some manner of magic. “Echo this is Enforcer B, this is an urgent assignment! Our sources tell us that we have a rat within our organization. We need him and his whole household eliminated. Dont worry you won’t need to go far as they are right in town. We plan to make this town into the center of our operations in Clover soon, so we need to make sure this area at the least is rat free. The Collector wants you to know if you do this right you will move up in our organization and be a step closer to the power you desire.” The voice would disappear from his mind just as quickly as it came.
Hours had gone by and now it was about midnight, the best time to commit a crime one would think. Low visibility, low light, and barely anyone is awake at such an hour. Echo was standing on the roof across the street from his target’s house. He sat there trying to see if he could see anyone home through an open window, however it would seem that all the lights were off meaning the occupants of the home were inside asleep. Echo would scoff as he thought to himself *Oh this will be easy than..* as he would climb down to the ground below.
Echo walked over to the front door of the home with the sound of the rain covering his approach. He would take his bow to his hand and pull his hood up over his head as would get ready to kick in the door. BOOM! Was the sound that was made when Echo’s brown leather boot collided with the door in front of him. The hunter was now inside the home of his target, all that was left was to eliminate all inside. From the information he had gotten there was supposed to be 4 people in the house. The main target, who was an old man that was selling Shadow Broker information for his own gain. Sadly this man’s poor choices would soon lead his son, daughter in law, and grandson to an early grave.
Echo would make his way up the stairs and would walk down the hallway to the first bedroom. The room had belonged to the young child, and although Echo was ordered to kill everyone he decided he would come back, and save the boy for last. He just couldn’t bring himself to kill the boy right then and there in cold blood like that, not yet anyway. He would silently close the door to the boy’s room and as he would turn around he was greeted to the sound of a voice saying “Who are you and what are you doing in my house?”. When fully turned and able to see who the voice was coming from he would see it was the old man, the man target for this hit. Echo would pull up his bow and take aim as he loaded an arrow onto his drawstring. “Mr. York, the Shadow Broker would like me to hand you your termination letter. But the only way I can give it to you is if you’re dead so goodbye.” Echo would say just as he prepared to take fire on the old man.
It was night in the Forsaken Regions Town of Sossei, and the moon hung ominously overhead, peeking out amidst the surrounding swell of cloud and rain. The small outlying community had suffered a string of unexplained misfortune and were the victims of a deprived individual who'd committed several atrocities to its citizens. To make matters personal they'd decided to perform their perverted acts on the Black Bulls Territory, which was why Kusa patrolled the muddied cobbled streets. He was clad in the usual attire while performing duties under the Orders flag, a pair of dark navy pants and matching sleeved shirt accompanied with a set of leather band sandals. His head and face were partially covered with a cowl, acting as a thermal lining for his neck, lower jaw and head while leaving his face exposed. The robes of his obsidian squad rested around his shoulders and the thick furred lining kept his upper body warm. Kusa had pulled the hood over his head and his face was concealed behind the ivory wooden mask, simple in craft and design with a single black clover on the forehead.
He had his bow slung around his shoulder and waist, allowing the weapons string to run along his chest while the quicker rested on the back of his waist. Anyone who'd seen a regular guard or Knight of Clover would recognize the craft of its dark and light wood in the composite style, It was another weapon of the Kingdoms design and he wore it with pride. The masked and hooded elf walked the streets down below with high roofed buildings lining the narrow streets. His grimoire unclipped and it begun to float along his side, its shape leaning back so that the pages of parchment faced upwards. A small bundle of seeds materialized from the spells page and with the step of his foot the seeds planted into the walkway, magically stimulating a layer of lush grass to spread in a forty meter diameter from his current position. Anything within his influence of magic that contained mana was displayed on the map, a congregation of plants which shaped itself according to the surrounding topography, each blade rising or falling where necessary to display a clear live map. His emerald gaze peered from under his mask and through the slitted holes, looking at the spells construction. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary at the moment and the signatures which were picked up indicated lower leveled civilians going about their day to day lives.
The patrolling Bull continued with his route, checking his construct periodically for updates. And this time something caught his gaze. It was only briefly and at the edge of his sensory detection, but it was there none the less. Several signatures, the majority very minor, quickly gathered at a single point in a building with a fifth signature heading their way. In itself it was nothing. It could have been a Family getting ready for bed or a gathering of friends ready to drink their woes away and reminisce in the past that had been. But there was something in the back of his mind which kept him alert and his subconscious wouldn't allow him to shrug the feeling off. Kusa, with map still activated, followed the essence of mana to the building with its front door wide open and damaged hinges. This was forced entry. Before entering he deactivated the spell, not wanting the magically induced grass to give away his location or alert the intruding criminal.
With his mana senses heightened he pulled the bow over his shoulder, checking that the string was still strong and uncompromised. A single arrow was pulled from its quicker, sliding its long length along the middle of the bow where the arrow was notched. He took a breath, filling his air with fresh oxygen while also calming the heavy beating of his heart. With archery if ones heartbeat beats too rapidly it causes their focus to misalign and causes their hands to tremor, effecting the accuracy of the shot. His long ears weren't simply for show, they were perfect for hearing. Sobs and begging for mercy could be heart overhead along with the panicked wailing of woman and child. He picked up the pace, keeping the balance of his weight on his tip toes while relieving the pressure off his heel, allowing him to move swiftly yet silently. Once outside the door he gave a full pull of his composite bow with the arrow pointing to the ground. His sandaled foot kicked against the door then pulled his bow upwards so its sight aligned with the intruder. Kusa, masked and hooded with the Black Bulls mantle drapped over his torso, was unable to identify the aggressor as his identity was concealed. With a quick glance his emerald eyes scanned those that sat trembling across the left side of the room, with the intruder standing to his right. He was glad he trusted his instincts.
The 4 residents initially moved further back from the Elf as his masked figure burst through the door, thinking him an accomplice. But the Black mantle of the Bulls was enough to slightly ease their anxiety, the Father going so far as to count his chickens before they hatched. Without a further word, or announcement, he released his grab on the notched arrow sending it soaring towards the hooded man. Once he released the arrow he ran towards the gathered civilians, hoping his earlier attack would be enough to deter the invader and temporarily shift his sights from his target to the Knight. With an extended arm he stood between the intruder and the Family of four, his soft voice echoing from behind his mask with a weird Clovish accent "Move quickly. I'll buy you some time, just escape and get to the Black Bulls Headquarters"
Name of Spell: Sniveys Sense Elemental Type: Plant - Grass Rank & Spell Type: Junior || Sensory [Mapping] Range & Speed: 10m (+sensory x2) [AOE] Mana Cost: 8 | 4 sustain Stats Effected: N/A Applicable Perks: Mana Conservationist Description: A seed encased by mana is created from the appropriate page in Kusas Grimoire. The seed is planted near his feet and a surrounding of short grass sprouts outwards towards the spells maximum range. A thicker circumference of grass grows in front of the user and begins to take shape based on the areas topography, growing or waning depending to display the different types of layering. The detail of the map is basic and minor details are hard to define, but the general layout is easily understood. In order to represent the different locations of mana, the grass sprouts flowers of differing colours and sizes based on the intensity. The map will always put the caster at the center and he is represented by a 3 leaf black clover.
Just as Echo was about to take fire on his target, he was rudely interrupted by the appearance of a masked individual. The man would come bursting into the room, as Echo had his arrow aimed at the old man. The intruder would fire an arrow at Echo, however the attack was easily countered by Echo firing his own arrow which would hit the arrow of the intruder and send both flying off course deflected by each other. The man would then try to help the residents of the home, who at this point had all come out of their bedrooms and gathered up away from Echo and the intruding man.
Echo would examine the man after their first clash of arrows, and he would notice that along with his mask and bow the man also had a magic knight mantle. *Shit!* was the first thought that came to Echo. He was not afraid of the fact this knight had arrived, he was more so just shocked and caught off guard. He had been doing crimes in Sosshi for a while now, it was only a matter of time until the Black Bulls or another magic knight squad got involved.
As Echo continued to look his opponent up and down he watched as the man made an attempt to help the residents of the home, by standing in between Echo and the family with his arms extended outward. The man was selfless and a decent example of a magic knight from what Echo could see so far, however the fun was just about to begin. Still acting as a shield the man would tell the residents he would buy them time for an escape while he held Echo off or rather tried to.
Echo would let off a scoff as he listened to the man’s voice echo from behind the wooden mask he wore. Echo would then look at the man and say “Them or you will be going nowhere. Black Bull you have picked the wrong place to meddle, and now you shall pay the ultimate price for such an act!” Echo’s grimoire would begin to glow before an arrow made of light magic would be formed in front of him. He would flick his wrist towards the magic knight, and with it the arrow would fly straight towards its target with great speed and precision.
With the amount of space to dodge or move around within the home, both men would be at an disadvantage as far as archery went, so this battle would more than likely come down to close range combat, unless the two would find themselves outside some how. With the current space between the two only a few meters or so(5 at the most), Echo didn’t expect the man to dodge the attack, he would instead have to block it somehow. As the man would have an arrow to worry about Echo would set his next act in motion.
Echo’s grimoire would glow again before another arrow of light was made in front of him. He would flick his wrist again, this time sending the new arrow towards his original target which was the old man. Even if the old man and his family tried to escape under the magic knight’s direction, it would be for nothing. The arrow that flew towards the old man was different than the one fired at the magic knight. This arrow was fused with Echo’s sensory prowess, which gave the arrow the ability to track and follow targets, similar to a homing missile.
“You wanted to play knight so lets play!” Echo would say as both arrows would fly towards their intended targets. Echo would then move towards the knight with great speed, so that he could launch a secondary attack just in case his arrow would hit its mark. Once he would move forward he would stop once he got within melee distance and would set himself up to throw a roundhouse kick at the man.

His opponent was skilled with the bow. Not many are able to shoot an incoming projectile at such a short distance, but the trespasser managed with ease. Kusa was trying to get the civilians out of the building and off to safety while he acted as a distraction, but the intruder made it clear that no one was leaving. But what happened next shocked the Elven Bull. A rising glowing Grimoire hovered at their side with four clover leaves resting on its cover, something extremely rare within the Kingdom. It was no exaggeration on its rarity, one could go their entire lives without ever seeing one.
From its pages particles of light began to gather, molding into mass then shape until it finally formed the construct of an arrow. The scared patrons were slow to react and they delayed moving while in a state of panic. Kusa ushered them, telling them to find some sort of cover behind furniture, or at the very least to stay out of his way. The first light arrow shot towards him, and with great speed. It was an attribute of the light elemental. Pure speed. His emerald eyes saw the flash briefly followed by a pain in his shoulder causing his torso to jerk on impact. His mana skin had absorbed the majority of the potential damage, but he'd still felt the blunt force. For a moment his eyes checked his peripherals, looking to see if the daughter behind him had taken shelter. If he had attempted to dodge the previous attack she could have inadvertently become the target.
The assailant had swiftly prepared for another attack with light particles once again gathering to form the shape of another arrow. Kusa wouldn't stand idly by the second time. His own dark bound Grimoire began to flip its parchment so it opened on the spell its master mentally activated, causing blades of intertwined grass to shoot from its contents and into the ground below. From in front of him a single black clover manifested from the floor boards before disappearing entirely. The second attack was unleashed which shot forth just as fast the initial arrow, grazing the ebony robes of his Magical Order as he leant to his side, arching his back as the line of light shot past him. He'd sensed the fact that the spell was guided by mana guidance but in such an enclosed space it made it difficult for swift spells to change their trajectory, no doubt causing the light arrow to smash into one of the four surrounding walls. But it seemed the perpetrator didn't end his assault there as he burst towards the Elf.
Kusa dropped his bow, knowing its use within limited quarters would be ill advised. It was effectively useless here. He extended his hand outwards towards the approaching enemy, activating another spell which sent blades of grass to once again shoot from his grimoire and towards the legs of his opponent. If they made contact they'd wrap up his legs, digging their roots into the ground to halt his movements. Not only that but each strand of bound vegetation would slowly sap the mana from its target, draining his magic and resupplying its wielder. Whether he avoided it or not was irrelevant. He had planned for a contingency. As the intruder got closer to throw his round house kick, Kusa would step back widening the gap between them as the trap activated below their feet, the invisible black clover reappearing once again activating the spell. Large tendrils of grass erupted from the floorboards, each one attempting to wrap around their primary arm and grimoire. If the spell was successful it'd wrap itself around the appendage and book, once again draining their mana supply, but also disrupting their natural regeneration of energy.

Echo had struck the black bulls knight with his arrow, the aim of the shot could have been better but it was still a good hit. The arrow of light Echo fired had managed to hit the man in the shoulder, nothing but a simple flesh wound. The archer had wanted to aim for the head but his guess was that his precision was a bit of today. It was a good thing that the magic knight allowed himself to be hit by the spell, otherwise the young child standing behind him would have without doubt been struck by the projectile.
The magic knight seemed to have some type of skill as he had managed to dodge the homing arrow by taking advantage of its inability to move in the tight spaces of the home. This didn’t matter as Echo would continue on with his planned assault moving to kick the magic knight with a roundhouse. The tide of the fight would seem to feel a shift in ownership as the black bull knight would take a step back to create space and would avoid the incoming kick in question. However it was this that changed the tide, it was when the mage sent forth a spell in an attempt to restrain Echo was when the tide changed.
Echo would manage to avoid the first of the spells aimed to capture him, as the raw speed he held in this environment would be too much for most normal mages, and that was the power of light magic. The speed gifted to those with this magic was almost always unmatched and Echo was proving the truth behind the term “Speed kills”. Avoiding the first spell by zooming past where the roots would come out the ground to hit him from he was caught by another spell, a trap to be exact.
The trap was set by the black bull at some unknown point in the altercation, and it had now been used to capture Echo by the legs. The grass would slow the man to a stop for a moment as he would struggle somewhat, grass dragging him into the ground to further slow his movements. The hunter would scoff before saying “What do people value most Black Bull?” As he spoke his grimoire would begin to glow, taking the same action as when he activated his two spells earlier. Coming forth would be yet another arrow, and before the grass could manage to climb up to his upper body Echo would flick his wrist launching the arrow forwards.
“They value their life.” He said as the arrow would hit the floor of the home, right in between where Kusa and the family were. This was yet another one of Echo’s ‘trick arrows’ as this arrow like the last also has a special function. The arrow spell in question was designed to explode after coming into contact with a person or object, and after it hit the floor that’s exactly what it would do. Exploding out in a 10 meter radius a bright flash of light would be seen originating from the spot the arrow hit. Without question the house along with anything non magical would be heavily damaged from such a thing, along with the restraint trap that was holding Echo.
WC: 551 TWC:1995 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Name of Spell: Laser Arrow: Explosive Shot Elemental Type: Light Rank & Spell Type: Junior | Attack Range & Speed: 25 meters | 20 m/s | 10 meter AoE Mana Cost: 10 Stats Effected: N/A Applicable Perks: Quickshot, Apex Predator Description: The user generates an arrow made out of light(76 cm in length), that is either fired from a bow or thin air and fired at the target. The arrow flies through the air making its way to its target, however upon impact the arrow will explode. This explosion releases a bright flash of light momentarily blinding anyone within 5 meter’s who see it, while also causing magical damage to anyone within the 10 meter AoE. The arrow itself will never travel more than 25 meters, and the blinding effect will only occur if the user has +10 power than the target's sensory.
Kusa second spell may have been unsuccessful, but he'd managed to lay his trap and activate it perfectly causing long strands of grass to encase his foes legs. Each entwined blade curled around his foot, then up his ankle and calf before halting their advance up their thighs and encasing their root system in deep. At best the spell could momentarily slow its victim down, but its effects were barely felt on the light magic user. With their natural affinity for speed they'd still comfortably exceed the Elf in pure speed, almost doubling his own swift capabilities. But thats not where the spells true capabilities lie. Each blade of grass is capable of slowly siphoning mana from its prisoner and feeding the energy back to its wielder. In haste the bandit activated their Grimoire again, sending another materialized arrow towards Kusa. Or so he'd thought. The arrow instead shot between the Magic Knight and the victims, exploding on impact and causing a large burst of light to erupt from its center. The Family would suffered the blinding effects as they shielded their eyes, however, due to Kusas natural sensory ability he was unaffected, instead utilizing this time to prepare his counter attack. This preparation came at the expense of taking the brunt of damage from his opponents spell, but he'd hoped the plan would pay off.
As the flash of light erupted around him, Kusa raised his hand with palm facing down and activating his own Grimoire. He extended his other hand out towards the bandit, shaping his mana to the appropriate spell. Two separate intertwining bundles of grass shot towards the hooded assailants arm, each shot aiming for a separate arm. His magic was definately slower for sure, but it granted it the ability for maneuverability and if the spell missed it was capable of adjusting its trajectory to increase success. At the same time Kusa slammed both hands to the ground with his fingers spread out, channeling his mana to activate a secondary spell. From the pages of his magical book, two more bundled strands of grass burst from the parchment except this time they'd dig themselves into the damaged floor boards.
With two separate spells at two projectiles each, Kusa had increased the likely hood of landing a strike on his foe. And while the light user was distracted with dodging the incoming barrage of spells, Kusa turned his head a pleaded for the family to exit the building, finding shelter at his headquarters. The Family complied as they struggled to exit the room, still under the previous spells blinding effects. But they felt their way to the walls, the house of their entire lives being secondary in layout. Whether blind or not they'd walked the corridors and rooms enough times in their lives to do it blind folded. Kusa picked up his bow with his leading hand, waiting to see if his plan had paid off.

After blasting the area with a big area explosion Echo would find himself free from the grasp of the grassy blades, and now that he was free he would quickly move to a new position as he thought everyone would have been blinded from the spell. The light mage would make his way out of the room right as the spell would go off and free him. He would use his much more superior speed to zoom fast the magic knight during the confusion, taking an arrow from his quiver and running it right through the neck of the old man who was the main target of the operation.
The other members of the family would run when they saw Echo had managed to get to them so quickly. No doubt the magic knight he was fighting would also be surprised, as Echo seen him attempt to launch a spell but such a thing would fail as Echo was no longer where the spell was aimed. After running the man through with the arrow he would allow his body to hit the floor saying “Do you still wish to fight magic knight? I haven’t seen you launch a real attack yet, and one of the citizens you swore to protect is dead. Just go home before I kill you too.”
Echo meant everything he said as he spoke, grimoire glowing as he talked another arrow would be formed. Echo would send this arrow towards the magic knight as the remaining family members would flee the building screaming in terror. The arrow of light was aimed to hit the young knight in the chest. Echo knew the fight wouldn’t be able to go much longer as he was now getting fatigued and felt himself running out of mana. After he launched his last arrow spell he would feel something strange brewing within himself.
The young man would feel as if he was getting lighter, or losing weight. It wasn’t a lot of weight that he would lose, however the young man would gain a much more defined and muscular appearance. Not only would he get more muscular but he would also grow in height, growing about an extra foot in height. The now well over 6 foot tall(almost 7 feet tall) man would laugh as he looked as his body saying “Now it looks like you are really in trouble… Come I shall entertain you a bit longer!”
Rushing towards the magic knight with his speed he would attempt to do the same thing he had just done to the old man, which was run an arrow through his neck. Once the distance would be closed again, Echo would aim the arrow in his hand right at the man’s neck hoping that the blow would end this battle for good.
WC: 466 TWC: 2461 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Name of Spell: Laser Arrow Elemental Type: Light Rank & Spell Type: Junior | Attack Range & Speed: 25 meters | 20 m/s Mana Cost: 10/5 Stats Effected: N/A Applicable Perks: Apex Predator, Quickshot Description: The user generates an arrow made of light(76 cm in length), that is either fired from a bow or thin air and fired at the target. The arrow will go 25 meters at a speed of 20 m/s before dissipating. For every 10 in control the user has they can create one additional arrow to fire.
The difference in the twos speed was bridged by a noticeable margin and the bandit certainly had the advantage when it came to agility. No doubt it was a natural attribute given to those lucky enough to be gifted a four leaved Grimoire with command over the light element. For all intents and purposes the fight should have been one sided from the beginning, and it pretty much had been. So it seemed. From the outside the Magic Knight of the Black Bulls squad had taken two attacks from a light arrow, both normal and explosive. And the bandit seemed to have the upper hand which was more evident as he swiftly dodged all four projectiles shot towards him before running the tip of an arrow through the older mans throat, causing an uproar of panic and terror from his relatives. The thug gloated about his skills, goading Kusa for his lack of protection and failing to strike with any offensive magic. The truth hit him hard, and he was well aware of his weaknesses. It was why he was able to come up with such unorthodox methods to make up for his lack of offensive capabilities an the intruder would soon feel the effects of his initial spell.
Kusas magic did not lie in its dominating, overwhelming power. Instead he relied on subtler nuances to make up for where he lacked. One of the few attributes affiliated with his variation of Plant magic was the ability to immediately change a spells trajectory within in its area of influence, and deplete the mana of his foes. And its effects were starting to show. While Kusa was adept at conserving his mana supply and performing spells at a lower cost to his reserves, it seemed the now murderer lacked that same attribute. This was no longer a battle of attrition, it was a battle of stamina. And this is where he stood out. Sure, he was slower. But superior speed was less effective in such confined quarters. After casting his initial duo of spells he immediately altered its trajectory, the congregation of intertwined grass weaving through the floor boards as they snaked around. Kusa swept his left hand so it now faced the bandit while he smugly stood over the lifeless corpse of the Father. This caused the two lengths of tendrilled vined grass to swim through the air, curving around furniture and towards its wielders foe.
His preparation came at a cost, and although he'd successfully altered the trajectory of all four projectiles, he'd taken another light arrow to the chest. But throughout this fight he'd come to the undeniable conclusion. "His spells aren't as effective as I initially thought." He'd assumed that since the law breaker had contained a Grimoire of the light element, they'd be overwhelmingly powerful. And since the assailant was still veiled by their hood Kusa was unable to determine the culprits age of identity. But that was not to say they didn't hurt. The Black Bull didn't move, instead he concentrated on his dual spells, each one containing separate entities and doubling their success. And the bandit was fast.....but Kusas spells were faster. With the Family now fled and no other possibility for collateral damage, present company excluded, he'd commit his entire focus on the fight. Then something strange occurred and Kusa was unable to tell if what was happening was the result of a spell or something else entirely. The bandit began to grow while his body shed its weight in leiu of bulk, now standing an imposing foot plus change taller than Kusa. This was the first time he'd spoken directly to the assailant since their encounter "You're mistaken if you think its ME that's in trouble"
In the time he'd altered his spells, been hit by the arrow and watched his foe grow unexplainably, Kusa had manipulated his projectiles so each one was approaching from a different angle. Two projectiles came from the floor boards with vines of grass twisting between the wooden planks, one coming from his North East, the other coming from his North West. The two tendrils of grass snaked around the furniture with one binding looking to secure his right arm while the other secured his left.
In response to the bandits sudden charge with arrow in hand looking to slit his throat, Kusa twisted his upper body clockwise while leaning left. Indeed an arrowhead was dangerous, almost as near any edged weapon on the market. But its extreme downside was its lack of range in a melee fight. If the bandit enlarged bandit had somehow dodged all four of his projectiles he'd continue to maintain their change of directory, pulling the spells to follow their target. The mage was fast......but his spells were quicker.

Echo was successful in hitting the black bull with the arrow of light however his attempt to slash the man’s throat was unsuccessful. The teen hunter knew that he was pulling his punches up until this point as he was not truly one for senseless bloodshed. He was here to complete a job and nothing more, and although he hadn’t completed the whole job he had did the main part of the work. *I didn’t think someone without any means of direct attack would be such a handful… this location is gonna get me caught if I make one wrong slip up.*
The black bull had twisted his body and leaned in order to dodge the arrow head Echo tried to use as a melee weapon. Meanwhile the grass beneath the floor would begin to move in, Echo sensing it in the ground below. Although the spells moved quickly, Echo moved almost just as fast. Swiftly dropping the arrow in hand he would move to instead use the close range between the two now for a last ditch effort at a win. “YOU MAY HAVE DODGED MY TRY AT YOU THROAT BUT NOW WE ARE TOO CLOSE AND YOURE TOO SLOW!!!”
As Echo yelled out in an magical dwarves driven rage, he would attempt to grab the man as he spoke. The likelihood for the man to dodge the grapple was highly unlikely but that wasn’t meant to be a means to cause the knight harm. If the grab was to be successful Echo would slam the man down to the earth and activate his grimoire in the same stroke. Two masses of light would form and be shaped into arrows before being fired at the knight. Even if the man had managed to dodge the second arrow while he was on the ground it would not matter, as this was yet another explosive arrow. The explosive arrow also being fired as a means of getting rid of the grass projectiles coming towards Echo.
If the man was to avoid the initial grab Echo would still launch an explosive arrow at the ground. In either case after the explosive arrow would go off in its blinding light Echo would use the time to get out of the house and try to get into a more open space. He really didn’t want to drag the fight on anymore, it felt the mana reserves in his body drying up. *I wish I could have been born with the power of an elf… I feel like I’m about to pass out!* Bolting out the door he would begin to run down the street hoping to prepare to make his exit from the scene, hopefully such a thing as an exit would stop any more potential bloodshed.

Name of Spell: Laser Arrow Elemental Type: Light Rank & Spell Type: Junior | Attack Range & Speed: 25 meters | 20 m/s Mana Cost: 10/5 Stats Effected: N/A Applicable Perks: Apex Predator, Quickshot Description: The user generates an arrow made of light(76 cm in length), that is either fired from a bow or thin air and fired at the target. The arrow will go 25 meters at a speed of 20 m/s before dissipating. For every 10 in control the user has they can create one additional arrow to fire.
Almost just as fast wasn't enough, and although the bandit was admittedly faster than Kusa they'd find it hard to outrun spells faster than then in such enclosed quarters. None the less the intruder slipped through an opening in the Bulls barrage, bridging the small gap which separated them, missing the intended lethal strike aimed at his throat causing him to burst into a small fit of rage. But he was right. They were too close and Kusas movement capacity wasn't enough to dodge the next assault. But that is what he was counting on. He allowed the murderer to grab onto his throat and slam him into the ground but as he was going down, Kusa would lift the lower half of his body while using his thighs and legs to try and wrap around the now enlarged arm, coiling around his appendage like two constricting snakes. The wind was almost knocked from him as his back slammed against the ground, causing his diaphragm to expel robbing his lungs of air. A gasp escaped his lips but his physical bind wouldn't waver.
Before he could regain his composure two more arrows materialized, one firing after the other. In a bid to minimize the damage to his diminishing shields he'd twisted his upper body to its side, reducing the area in which the arrows could target. One missed, but only a hair width while the other exploded upon contact causing its radiance of light to expand outwards and envelop the area. The four projectiles of his spells were almost on his heels, the strains of grass in the initial stages of climbing up the bandits legs to consume his depleting mana. However while in the process of leeching they'd been eradicated by the encompassing explosive light, withering away to dust. Kusa had the feeling his opponent was trying to blind him in an attempt to escape. What he didn't know was that the Elfs sensory skills were heightened and the desired effects would not apply to him. [Echo Power Stat: 16 | Kusa Sensory Stat: 20 - BLIND FAILED]
While in the midst of the "blinding" effect Kusa immediately activated his spell once again, his Grimoires pages flapping to the appropriate page before shooting out two more knots of intertwining grass tendrils at melee range. If Kusa had managed to sustain his leg tying bind the two projectiles would have a higher chance of successfully entangling its victim, draining them of mana and replenishing its caster as it twisted around the bandits arms and their Grimoire. Simultaneously the Black Bull would mentally activate the magical effects imbued on his mask, triggering the carved circle near his forehead. Small translucent vines of grass crawled down his face and his entire body, feeding him energies of a healing nature. Although not required at the time, the spell had a delayed effect so Kusa had planned ahead. If he'd sustained more damage throughout the course of the fight his masks spell would mend his wounds, allowing him to fight for longer.
If he was unsuccessful in his bind somehow, he'd stand up and chase his target, reclaiming his fallen bow.

Echo slammed the man to the ground but missed with his first arrow strike, missing the second one also but it didn’t matter as the arrow would explode as it made contact with the floor. And sadly when Echo grabbed the man to slam him, the magic knight punk managed to lock onto and wrap around Echo’s arm. The now Enlarged Echo grew tired of playing around with the magic knight, he got madder with each passing second as he thought to himself. *How can this dirty magic knight commoner compare to me?!?! I have the power of a 4 leaf grimoire and the element of light, there’s no way he can be pushing me to go this far!!!*
The sad reality though was that the magic knight was pushing him this far, probably the hardest Echo had to fight in a while. True his need to try so much was indeed due to the fact the hunter lost his speed advantage due to being indoors. Regardless of what had happened in the past bit of this fight he knew the next set of moves would decide the victor. With the black bull still locked around his arm like a snake Echo would begin to make his final move.
With a new set of grassy restraints heading his way he had to act fast, there was no time to think or waver from his goal and that was to make it out of this in one piece and not captured. As far as living went Echo was pretty safe in that regard as he had sustain very little if any damage, meanwhile his opponent was in rough shape as the magical aura known as mana skin would break which left his actual body open to damage. Echo would use this to his advantage in his next strike.
As the magic knight still hung onto his arm and the restraints coming towards him, Echo would create yet another arrow launching it at the floor right under his feet. The arrow would explode on contact yet again, and with the boy still holding onto Echo’s arm it was no way he could escape the blinding explosion. The blast too would take care of the restraining muddles of grass coming towards him. His mana not going up but instead lower, even with his mana regeneration he felt like he could do nothing. Every attempt to move or cast a spell taking more and more of a toll on his body.
After the first explosive arrow Echo would then use his size and strength to sling the man off of him, potentially slamming him back into the ground. If the man was to hit the ground again Echo would follow it up by surrounding his free hand with light and using it to hopefully hit the man in the face.

For every 10 in control the user can create another orb to surround their other fist. The spell cannot be used by anyone but the user, and cannot go over the physical damage cap of the rank.
Another pesky exploding arrow. He'd been hit with enough of them to gain some sort of recognition through his sensory abilities and as he held tightly to the enlarged arm of the bandit he was hit directly in the shoulder. The result was predictable as an ineffective blinding light expanded from its epicenter, engulfing the room. It had been hit with the effects of this particular spell enough times that cracks had started to form in the masonry and carpentry, the building beginning to show signs of collateral damage. Then seemingly from nowhere, with what seemed a desperate measure, the criminal had tossed his arm, using the momentum to throw the Elf off his grasp to the floor.
The microscopic tendrils of his masks spell still engulfed his body, feeding him with restorative energies through a carved magic circle in the forehead. The damage he had sustained earlier was soon mended which caused a weird sensation in his arm, something akin to really aggressive numbing where the nerves go completely dead. The prolonged battle began to show itself as his breathing started to pick up, his chest rising and falling heavily. This was in due part the damage he'd sustained over the course of the battle with arrows of light striking his chest, arms and body. The only thing that kept him standing was pure determination. He'd worked hard his entire life, creating strategies to minimize the inevitable gap between his own powers in comparison to those like the person he now faced. Wielders of a Four Leaf Clover Grimoire.
He took one final breath, his magical senses expanding out to their maximum range of influence, engulfing the entirety of the room in which they stood. Kusa was well aware that the person he faced was blessed with an innate speed, paired with a highly destructive magic. He needed every edge he had. As soon as he detected a ripple in his senses he acted, the bandit engulfing their hand in a condensed energy which seemingly increased their raw attack power. As he was coming forth Kusa clicked his fingers, activating his Grimoire to automatically flick to another page closer to the books cover. A large ball of snaking, intertwining grass materialized from its pages, floating gently for the mages next command. Kusa planned on another gamble, one which would put his body under more duress. He took the punch, using his mask to take the brunt of the damage in lieu of his own face, the Elf wondering if the bandit thought his face covering was just plain mundane wood. As soon as wood connected with knuckle Kusa clicked his fingers again, triggering the spell which hovered right next to him. The ball of grass exploded outwards, shredding the sphere into smaller shards and blowing its contents out to its maximum range. Any caught in the area of effect would be induced immediately, their sense of sound seemingly barraged with auditory input. Those caught in the illusion would only be able to hear the roaring wind through a meadow as it smashed through trees, vegetation and long grass, drowning out any other input.
[Spell Check: 17 Sensory needed to break out of spell]
In that brief moment Kusa activated a secondary spell, creating two more tendrils of entwined grass to shoot from the parchment towards the thief. A crack began to form on the wall behind the murderer, beginning from the corner of the roof and travelling down towards the window causing a weak point. Over the course of the last minute or so, several spells had been triggered simultaneously, weakening the already frail infrastructure and creating a breaking point. No sooner had he executed his spells did the wall suddenly crumble, sending brick and wood to crumble outwards. Kusa swore at his ill luck. He was able to 'keep up' with the light user by trapping them in an enclosed area but now that an alternative exit had been provided he wasn't sure he'd be able to pursue. His body was beginning to feel the effects of taking multiple spells and the sudden damage and healing was playing mayhem on his nerves. But letting the criminal get away wasn't an option, he needed to bring this person in for judgement. In a last ditch effort to entangle the perpetrator in his grassy prison he'd pushed his mana outwards, doing whatever he could to make his tendrils extend further, each blade lashing out in an attempt to bind and drain its victim.

*I can’t get caught here! Who knows what will happen if I get taken into custody.* Echo thought to himself as the battle still went on. He could tell his opponent was in pretty poor shape, but so was he just in another way. While his opponent was physically beaten and battered, Echo was at a loss for stamina and was quickly running out of magic. Every bone and cell in his body wanting him to give up as if he could not hold on any longer. Echo would even feel the magic of his dwarves form starting to diminish, as the weight he had loss would come back(although it was already not much) and his height would begin to shrink.
He was successful with landing both his attacks on the magic knight, and even managed to slam him yet again. Due to the usage of such highly destructive spells in the home though, the whole house had started to form many cracks and gaps. One of these cracks would grow much worse as the magic knight would attempt to catch Echo in yet another restraint. The bundles of grass would fly at the hunter, and just as this happened the crack in the wall would turn into a full sized hole.
The hole was the perfect size for Echo to fit through meaning, this would be his one true chance at escape. The young hunter would take his light protected fist and punch both the bundles of grass destroying them before they make take root as restraints. The red head would then look at his opponent before saying “You did decently magic knight, however I must take my leave. Hopefully you stay alive so that we can have a rematch one day. I the Grim Angel mark you as a worthy opponent.” Although the man had activated a illusion of some sort the spell had little to no effect on the hunter’s keen sensory skills.
With those words Echo would attempt to make a break for it by using his superior speed to dash out of the home through the newly created hole in the wall. Echo would accept the battle for what it was, even though he was less that satisfied with the outcome. Although he had dealt far more damage than what was given to him, Echo still felt like victory did not belong to him. He thought that such a opponent would be weak and easy to sweep aside, but this magic knight certainly gave him a run for his money. *One day black bull archer I shall have your head!* He would think to himself as he made his escape.
His grassy tendrils slithered and burrowed towards the light using bandit, aiming to ensnare and entangle while draining the last of their mana from their body. In this state the murderer would be set in a state of fatigue which would cause them to collapse, effectively rendering them useless. Where Kusa lacked in raw power and overwhelming force, he'd make up for in tenacity and intellect. He'd spent the entire engagement wearing his opponent down, slowly chipping away at his mana reserves. Sure, the tactic was reckless and resulted in his defenses being shattered, leaving him open and vulnerable to attack. After receiving so many magical attacks the Black Bull started to fell the impact on his body as the adrenaline began to fade, his muscles aching and tender. But he pushed through, knowing he was close to capturing the evildoer.
But alas fate was not on his side. As a result of continuous barrages, the already weak infrastructure was further damaged causing cracks in the masonry. A hole more than large enough to escape through crumbled behind the intruder in which they did not hesitate to take, using the attributes of the light element to boost their speed and utilize their escape. Not wanting his hard work to go to waste, Kusa attempted to put more mana into his spells in a futile means of speeding them up, his tendrils so close to catching their prey. He was granted no such luck as the criminal narrowly escaped his bindings, slipping through the newly created escape hole and bidding his farewells. They said their piece before fleeing, causing Kusa to immediately drop to one knee, placing a hand on the ground to support his battered body. It was hard to breath behind the mask in times like this, causing the Elf to grab it off his face. From behind the magical item his face was heavy and his lungs screamed for air.
If the fight had somehow dragged out any longer he wasn't sure if he'd have endured, even with his reserved supply of mana. His body just wasn't use to the assault of offensive spells. He also realized in a quick moments of reflection that he needed to expand his arsenal of spells. He was severely limited in what he could do. Kusa leaned there for a moment, propped up and settling his breathing. He'd managed to avoid further collateral damage. The rest of the Family survived, although they'd had to endure the sight of their Father being slaughtered in front of their eyes. As he was, he was incapable of saving everyone, no matter how hard he tried. His magic was cut of a different cloth from his opponents and he really had to stretch things out to resolve the matter. He sighed. He regretted not being able to do more, and he cursed his weakness. It was times like this he wished he'd been born a Noble with command of a high levelled element.
Kusa would need to make his report to his Captain. But to be honest, there wasn't much to tell. Apart from saving three out of four members he'd managed to take part in the destruction of property (inadvertently) AND he'd failed to identify the killer. He was pretty much giving his Captain a cold case. Regardless, he needed to do his duty. He allowed himself a few more moments rest, gathering his thoughts and his composure but not letting himself settle for too long as his aching muscles would lock up. Kusa lifted himself off the floor, putting his mask back on and slinging his bow over his shoulder. With a final look he'd inspect the surroundings of the room in which he battled, signs of damage from spells both in light and nature. If the details of this got out, no doubt more color will stain the Squads reputation. He knew it didn't bother the Captain, but Kusa prided himself in doing a job properly. He felt like he'd failed his Squad, as well as the Citizens of Sossei.

This has been a good read, but, it is classed as a fail.
