Hotaru is a young seventeen year old woman who stands at five foot eight inches tall, she is quite athletic in frame. She has long chocolate brown coloured hair that she often keeps tied back in a single ponytail with a white or golden crimson coloured ribbon. Her eyes are a golden amber and though look gentle can easily show hostility when she is angered. She often wears a peach and pale orange kimono with deep flame red hakama, white tabi and geta. From her top hangs a charm given to her on the day of her birth, the charm itself looks like a small white silk pouch with words of protection on it. This item is more like a piece of jewellery or a trinket due to the belief system of her family.


Hotaru is an odd young woman indeed, like many of her family she is not only just calm and collected under pressure but she seems to thrive within it. Things could be dire and stacked against her but she is determined to see things through calculating the best stratagies to make sure the best outcome has met. She, however, is still young and is known to have as much of a fiery temper as her element when angered but it's been noted that it is hard to make her boil over. She will attempt to talk down her enemies but if that doesn't work... well... she tried. When with friends and family she has a warm and bubbly personality working well with people, she enjoys being in such a way but knows that things can change at a moments notice.


Hotaru isn't a native of Clover although she was indeed born there. She was born sickly and weak, although her parents wanted to keep her with them with the threats going on around the time of her birth she was sent back to her families homeland to be raised by an aunt and uncle who loved her like their own daughter. She learned everything she would need to become a trader from a very young age but it didn't seem to fulfil certain needs within her soul. As she grew she learned how to wield swords though her aunt and uncle worried about her health and rather that she didn't train.

Still, it turned out that just like with mathematics she was a prodigy in dual-wielding, she didn't let it go to her head and trained daily to nurture her skills and get better at them. The issue was unlike many of her family magically she hadn't really shown the same type of proficiency with offensive flames even though she could use them, instead, her flames seemed stronger in defence which she didn't mind. When she reached fifteen years old she was preparing to go to Clover to meet her parents and brother for the first time but she got deathly sick and so it was postponed, for two years she wasn't really allowed out of her families estate and it drove her up the wall as she was energetic and needed to do something other than sit around.

On her seventeenth birthday, she decided that she finally had enough and made a strategy to get to Clover and do what she had planned to two years prior. She told her aunt and uncle she was going to the nearby shrine to pray for good health and would be back shortly after dusk. She decided to go to the docks and negotiated passage to Clover the voyage took months. The day she arrived she noticed everyone was excited talking about an award ceremony, curious about it she followed and ended up within a tower. She was about to ask what was going on when the master of the tower explained, it was when she was about to walk away from everyone that she, herself, was blessed with a grimoire of her own. She didn't quite understand it, but she had time to learn but she wanted to find her family first.




MAGIC DESCRIPTION:
Hotaru's magic currently isn't built for offence so she will never be the quickest to take down an enemy, but she has built up her defences and found a way to strengthen them further making it harder to knock her down within a fight. This paired with her above-average speed, quick mana regen and regenerating mana skin makes her magic quite formidable even at her current rank, she has been looking to branch out in ways that will strengthen her but only time will tell which route her mana will take as she develops.
