[attr=class, cyrustext]It would seem that Cyrus was destined to never have a simple, peaceful trip to the scholarly city of Babel. The city was home to a recently made friend of his, Zarya Laguna, whom he had first met in order to discuss their mutual interests in studying the various dungeons of the Clover Kingdom, as well as inconsistencies and changes since the events of the Shatter. On his first visit to the towering town, what had started as a simple meet and greet quickly escalated into an impromptu training exercise for his Ki senses when he and the young woman expressed a desire to test each others' capabilities.
Now, as he had been making his way to the small house where she lived several floors up the central structure, he had received an emergency contact from the local authorities; apparently some strange elemental spirits had been unleashed at a restaurant in Babel, so any Magic Knights who were relatively close were requested to come and take care of the sudden menace while also making sure to protect the civilians in the area.
And so Cyrus ran, first going off of the directions he had been given when the alert first went out before he began to get closer; close enough that he could hear the panicked screams and shouts of civilians at the spectacle of whatever it was going on.
Finally he had arrived, spotting a restaurant with a few people running out of it. It seemed like it would be a nice place to eat... were it not for the large hole in the front window, which he was fairly certain was not an intentional aesthetic choice by the owner.
That, and the half dozen magical creatures stalking around the tables, their yellow, gooey form bringing to mind something that was only confirmed when a familiar scent hit the nose of the Golden Dawn's Vice Captain.
"...Cheese?" He muttered out, both genuinely fascinated and incredibly confused by what exactly was going on in front of him. He wanted to ask the people present what exactly had happened, but was not so caught up in his curiosity that he missed the presence of several civilians still trapped inside the bistro with the... cheese elementals.
Without hesitation Cyrus ran in, immediately placing himself directly between the strange monsters and the three people who were still inside; going by their clothes, he would guess that one was a customer, one an employee, and the third was likely the owner of the restaurant himself. "Don't worry, you three. You'll be fine; just stay close to me." He assured the trio, who nodded nervously. Cyrus pulled out his grimoire, Hama using the gesture to emerge and see what exactly they were up against. "That... that is different." She observed helpfully, clearly just as gobsmacked by the unusual enemies as her partner. He merely nodded, too focused on protecting the civilians to engage in their usual banter.
"Syrup Shroud!" He called out as he cast his first spell, enveloping the three people he was protecting as well as himself in a protective aura of his magic. With his Ki senses he could tell that as strange as these beings were, they weren't anywhere near powerful enough to break through defenses of his caliber. Cyrus held out his left hand, revealing the chain-bearing gauntlet he usually brought with him so that he wouldn't have to rely on just his magic for offense.
One of the melted monstrosities lunged towards Cyrus, launching a blast of burning cheese towards him as it approached. The projectile struck him dead on, but was destroyed instantly on contact with his defensive spell. He swung his weapon, sending the barbed chain out and slicing cleanly through the attacking appetizer, leaving only five remaining. Those who survived all seemed to back away from him, after seeing how easily he had dealt with their compatriot.
Hama grinned. "Gouda fert, but not gouda nuff!" She quipped, prompting an amused but exasperated groan from her friend. "Really Hama?"
She snickered. "What? Too cheesy?"

Items On Hand Magic Knight's Mantle Scorpion's Eclipse
Description: By casting this spell, Cyrus summons a mass of sap that quickly takes on the shape of a castle wall before hardening into a shifting amber-colored aura around Cyrus or his allies, defending them from enemy attacks. On casting, this spell will provide Cyrus with a +9 Durability buff. This defense can fully restore its lost health so long as it is not entirely destroyed, up to three times per casting. Sufficient Control will also allow him to create multiple barriers for different targets.
[break][break] Unlike most of his day today would actually start off rather nice. Just the day before the lightning mage had gone off into the wood to hunt down a pack of wolves that had been other some poor villagers for months now. It was the long nights rest that was dually needed that played its factor for such great morning. On top of that the young Rosenthal had already set up a date with a young woman from said village. Kreig wasn't particularly good with people and most would just shrug him off. It was something about his personality that drove people away. Having this opportunity to finally bond with someone that saw him as interesting instead of a weirdo was definitely a plus in his book. [break][break] The young mage has awaken on time to make sure everything went a close to perfect as possible. He'd wash himself with the finest lathering to smell like a cool breeze blowing over the most prestige flowers. Next he'd complete any and every cosmetic procedure that he felt the needed to give off the sense that he not only cared for himself but is also taking the date seriously. After that the lightning mage would find a pair of his finest garments hoping not to stand out too much but clearly stand out better than most. This was possibly going to be a once in a lifetime opportunity and he sure didn't want to spoil it by not covering the basics. When finished Kreig would look into the mirror noticing that even after all of the preparation he was still in his same ole magic knight attire. Alright, everything looks spiffy. I really need to update my wardrobe but I guess it's time to meet at the Kwik Lasagne. With that Krieg would make sure to to grab his grimoire, a few magical items, and go on about his way. [break][break] It wouldn't take long to the magic knight to reach his location considering his living space wasn't too far away. He actually made it to the location early and awaited the beauty at his table for her appearance. As usual most women are always late which urged the lightning mage to try an appetizer to avoid getting the boot from the restaurant. Yer he Yer he. Kreig would wave down one of the tenants. Ricotta, Qeuso Blanco, and Brie to be dice by the cubicle set before the. The waiter look at Kreig in bot awe confusion. Be not something the mater with ye eye? Hmm, fetch not fetch. The wait had little idea what the knight was talking about but the word fetch didn't sit well with him. A bit frustrated the an would storm from the table into the kitchen to bring out only what he understood. [break][break] About ten minutes later the same water would come back to the table in which Kreig would reside. With him he would multiple entrees hoping that the lighting mage would be content with any of which he brought. After staring at each dish for a minute the lighting mage would speak. Hmmm, Do it this may be very well.... Compliments. The lightning mage didn't intend to come off as rude but everything in life up until recently had made him the way he is. With a fork he removed from the table Kreig would begin to test the cheese individually. After only a single bit of the first he'd realize instantly that he a consumed camembert cheese. Oh no this isn't good. Camembert really gives me stomach issues. He would then look up to see his misses walking to his table. The lightning was still trying to be a gentlemen by standing as the young lady would approach. Pardon the salutations madam, for the moment may the be excused. He would say with a sense of urgency. Y, y, y, yeah sure. Just like that the Azure Deer would excuse himself from the table and head directly into the men's restroom. [break][break] Kreig barged into the door narrowly knocking over the restroom attendant. Coming through! His speech would tend to clear up when either excited or angry. The lightning mage managed to get the last stool left in the room. While inside the restroom doing his business and I mean he was killing the place. Krieg has noticed a bit of a rumble had come in behind him. Looks like I'm not the only one that gets this way when consuming camembert. The thought of it gave him a slight chuckle. Then suddenly a loud crash and the sound of breaking glass followed by screaming customers came about. What in tarnation is going on out there? The knight would proceed to finish until a sudden thought. The Lady!! With hardly taking the time to wipe the knight sprang quickly to ensure the his date wasn't in harms way. [break][break] Once more in a rush but this time for the right reason, Kreig was back into the main lobby. He was bamboozled to see their was multiple pillars of attacking cheese spread throughout the restaurant. Most of the people that were previously there had either been eaten, ran away, or trying to take some form of cover. Luckily for him after scanning the area he would notice the young lady standing near the waiter that brought the cheese earlier and what looked like a knight of the Golden Dawn in-between them and only of the pillars of cheese. Don't worry, you three. You'll be fine; just stay close to me. He'd yell before pulling out his grimoire. The situation left nothing at hand but for Kreig to uphold his daily responsibility as a magic knight. [break] Cyrus Elwood❂

[attr=class, cyrustext]Cyrus heard the sound of rushing from nearby, as a newcomer emerged from what appeared to be the restaurant's bathroom. A young man with long blue hair and a muscular build, looking at the chaos that had begun in the building while he was preoccupied. The customer behind Cyrus reacted to his presence, which told Cyrus they were familiar with one another, but dealing with the cheese monsters first would probably be a good idea before reuniting the pair.
The man hadn't balked at the sight of the strange elementals, and from the feeling Cyrus got with his ki senses, he was fairly powerful. That being the case, he could probably focus on the enemies and not have to worry about the person. "If you can deal with the three closest to you, I can handle these two and stick by these people to protect them." He called out to the stranger, beginning to spin the chain of his gauntlet rapidly.
The two cheese monsters closest to him rushed forward; whether it was with the intent of avenging their fallen comrade or they were just attacking the nearest living thing was a mystery to the magic knight. But it was a mystery that he wouldn't really need to put any sort of effort into understanding; all that mattered was that they were endangering the lives of innocent civilians. And unfortunately for them, they were doing so in front of the Rising Dawn.
A salvo of the burning cheese shot at Cyrus again, this time from both of the monsters, but he once again didn't bother to dodge or intercept it since the attacks did nothing but fizzle out harmlessly against his Syrup Shroud spell. He approached them this time, which seemed to catch them off guard (did living cheese monsters even have a sense of surprise, he wondered), flailing around as if to keep this thing that was easily shrugging off their attacks away. But they would have no such luck, as he once again swiped his chain weapon through one of the creatures, bringing their total number down to four.
The last of his three targets was right beside him, but the lack of distance wouldn't do the gooey goon any good, as Cyrus retracted the chain of the Scorpion's Eclipse. He took a single, powerful step forward and slammed the barbed end of the gauntlet weapon into what would be the monster's gut, if it had anything resembling organs in the first place. The impact sent a shudder through the sticky beast, and it melted into a lifeless puddle of cheese where it stood.
With his chosen targets eliminated, Cyrus stepped back to rejoin the civilians he was protecting, making sure to keep himself between them and the remaining elementals. "Now," Cyrus said, crossing his arms as he turned so that he could watch the citizens and enemies simultaneously, ready to jump in if the stranger needed any help dealing with the leftovers.
"Can somebody please inform me of what exactly these creatures are? I must say, in all my time as the Golden Dawn's Vice Captain, I don't believe that I have ever seen an elemental made entirely from cheese, of all things."
The chef held up a finger nervously, as if he were a student in class not sure if they had the correct answer to a question. "U-um, I can explain, Mr. Elwood sir! You see my business, it hasn't been doing so well lately. So I've been looking for some sort of way to spice things up, eheheh... eh. Sorry. But anyway, I discovered an old cookbook for sale at a pawn shop and bought it, thinking I could add some of the recipes to the menu."
The chef reached behind him and pulled out the book, handing it to the sap wizard after opening it to the page he had last been on. "I went to mix the ingredients for this recipe here, you see? And the next thing I know, boom! Six of these crazy cheese creatures are trashing my trattoria and trying to make fondue out of my customers!"
Cyrus listened as he read through the ingredients in this "recipe" of his, slowly coming to realize what was going on thanks to his years of research. "This is an old cookbook, but this isn't a recipe. It's a preparation-intensive ritual spell used to summon elementals. My guess is that whoever used to own this cookbook also used it to keep their notes on magic; you wound up mixing a regular recipe with a summoning circle."
Cyrus closed the book, sitting it beside himself with his hand on top of it. "It's a good thing that the ritual wasn't performed normally, or else you may have been dealing with a lot more than some melted cheese monsters. That being said, sir, I am going to have to ask you to come with me to the local authorities' base for an interview; I want you to tell us exactly where you got this cookbook, who sold it to you, and if there are any other strange "recipes" that you discovered while reading. Is that understood? After that's all said and done, we'll decide what to do with you and your restaurant."
The man nodded nervously, clearly worried about what might happen but not wanting to make a big fuss over it; his curiosity had almost gotten himself, his customers, and his employees all killed. It was no small wonder that the Vice Captain wanted to make absolutely sure it had all just been an accident.
As Cyrus watched Krieg deal with the monsters, he just sighed internally. "Looks like our meetup might have to wait some more, Zarya." He thought to himself. Hama patted her friend on the shoulder, knowing what he was thinking. She had another cheesy pun in mind, but figured it would be best to hold it back for the time being... he seemed pretty "feta" up with the jokes.

Items On Hand Magic Knight's Mantle Scorpion's Eclipse
[break][break] He had no other choice to but spring into action and try to stop the savory beast. His head would begin to glisten with a slight sweat and the palms of his hands would moisten as the knight would unsheathe his Heart of the Forrest blade. Kreig was the type to kill anything but the feeling of rage that ran through the course of his veins nearly caused that to be inevitable. The knight across the room that was protecting the last of the civilians would yell out a gesture toward the lightning mage. If you can deal with the three closest to you, I can handle these two and stick by these people to protect them. Of course to protect the one person whom he sought to be his first true friend and possible lover, he'd oblige. [break][break] Smithereens be it makith of them shall I do well! Ye cornea watchith thy lady and be not free of it. The lightning mage would then with his free hand remove the girmoire that attached to his hip and allow it to float at his side. His eye then locked onto the nearest cheese monster which stood atop of a nearby table. The lightning mage would release a bit of mana within his shoes. Azure! The only word that would come from his lips. Suddenly like a flash of light all that could be seen was a steam of yellow light. Kreig had made his way over to the most within a blink of an eye. It was so fast that the monster had yet to even notice that the lightning mage was standing before it's very face. Lightning Creation: Lightning Fist. He would say in an angerly yet monotoned manor. The spell would light up his fist with a great amount of lightning aura that he would forcefully thrust through the cheese stopping it in it's tracks. [break][break] Ouch!!! Kreig quickly came back to reality after realizing the vital mistake he had just made. By making physical contact with the being the magic knight had suffered a great wound by burning himself in the process. Jumping back to take the defensive, the magic knight now knew that this would be a bit more of a task than he had expected. I still have two more to deal with and now only one arm. That was very reckless for someone of my caliber. The two other globs of cheese had taken notice that their comrade had fallen. It was apparent that these monsters were operating on some form of artificial intelligence. Perhaps a magical ability of someone near. [break][break] Slightly battered Kreig still had to defend himself. The two remaining cheese elementals had now prepared a coordinated attack. Simultaneously the monsters had began to load up many separate balls of flaming gooey cheese. The lightning mage little time but had to react with something swiftly. His first thought was an illusion spell but the time for casting it would be too much. Knowing that the mage had no other choice but to use the Heart of the Forrest blade he had once already wielded. The knight would sling his left arm around causing vines to extend from the sword that would capture the monstrosities right where they stood. Nature's Ira. The binding of this blade would not only restrain them but also squeeze them to the point of ultimately destroying them. [break] Cyrus Elwood❂

[attr=class, cyrustext]Once Cyrus had the details of exactly how these cheesy creatures had come to be recording in his notebook, he watched as Krieg finished the job. The man's odd way of speaking had intrigued him, but now wasn't really the time for playing 20 questions. He seemed to have burned his hand on contact with the first of his targets, taking the remaining two out with a curious blade that he drew.
With all six of the melted menaces defeated, and the strange cookbook secured, things seemed to be wrapping up nicely. He released the defensive spell he had been sustaining over the innocents in his care, ushering them to their feet while making sure that the chef himself stayed nearby.
Cyrus approached Krieg with a smile, his grimoire floating beside him as he held out his hand to shake. "I appreciate your help. And here; this should deal with your injury. Mother's Sweet Embrace." An orange glow came from the tome, and a small mass of sap emerged from its pages to surround Krieg. The mage would feel a comforting sensation, akin to being hugged by the spell, as it quickly healed his injuries.
After it was done the spell would disappear, and Cyrus would turn to address the others. "I will be taking the chef of this restaurant into custody now. I apologize on behalf of the owner for the events that have transpired here today. But you can rest assured that the problem has been taken care of. If any of you had your meals interrupted, I know of a restaurant on the fourth floor of the tower with a menu I would personally recommend."
Having said his piece, Cyrus nodded towards the chef to get his attention, and the man nervously followed the Vice Captain as he left what remained of his shop.
Hama sighed as they walked away, eyeing the large hole in the wall. She glanced at Cyrus, who arched an eyebrow curiously as she grinned. "Swiss shop." She noted, the hole reminding her of a certain variety of cheese. Cyrus sighed and shook his head, barely able to even think of some sort of response. This whole thing had just been weird.
Name of Spell: Mother's Sweet Embrace Elemental Type: Sap Rank & Spell Type: Grand | Defense/Healing Range & Speed: 150m | 75m/s Mana Cost: 50 | 25 Stats Effected: +12 Durability Applicable Perks: Archangel's Blessing, Healing Specialist, Self Repairing, Final Stand Description: On casting this spell, Cyrus creates a large mass of sap that travels towards its target at high speed. Once making contact, the spell takes the shape of a shining liquid cape draped across the target's shoulders, as if the sap is wrapping them in a soothing hug. This spell is able heal the wearer for Grand level damage for either health or mana skin, as well as protect them from the equivalent of x2 Grand level spells, and the cape can be given to someone else to wear if the person using it or Cyrus so desires. The sap that makes up its form will shift to protect the person wearing it, forming a protective barrier or shield. This spell can also cleanse its target of hexes and curses as per the stat rules, and can heal injuries as sever as missing digits in a single post, smaller non-vital organs in two, and limbs and more essential organs in three. If used within three posts after someone's death, this spell can even revive someone who has died (though not the user, and only once per thread).
Thanks to Archangel's Blessing, this spell maintains its original potency when applied to multiple people. And when worn by somebody besides Cyrus, it can also increase their mana regen rate by 20 per post. With Self Repairing the spell can regenerate its durability back to full up to three times, so long as it was not completely destroyed (only one Defense spell per post can do this), and with Final Stand Cyrus is able to increase a single Defense spell's Durability by +20 twice a thread for a single post. Wearing this cape also increases the person's Durability stat by +12. Multiple instances of this spell are possible should Cyrus possess enough Control himself.
[break][break] It was an incredible display of action from the two knights. They had accomplished the feat of saving the restaurant from destruction and any possible casualties. For Kreig to have come completely unprepared yet still able to handle business like a real veteran was none short of impressive. The steamy oozing of melted cheesed was splattered everywhere. All of the monstrosities were swiftly defeated and most importantly not one civilian was hurt in the crossfire. The restaurant however was left in a mess. Along with the cheese being splat there was broken tables and shattered glass everywhere. One would dislike to be apart of places clean up crew. [break][break] The lightning mage even though saving everyone however had made a slight mistake. During this scuffle he had went head on an attacked one of the blob without thinking it through. The outcome of such action caused the mage to have severe burns along arm. Ugh why am I such a clutz. I can't even take down a simple foe. How am I suppose to be the Wizard King one day? The lighting mage was taking the mistake a bit hard upon himself. This was due to his high hopes in one day getting the people to acknowledge him by becoming the lead mage of the entire country. It was then and only then that Kreig would be able to make friends. [break][break] I appreciate your help. And here; this should deal with your injury. Mother's Sweet Embrace It was a healing spell with the ability to soothe the pain for the lightning mage. Kreig was deeply ashamed of himself and could hardly look at anyone faces with the vicinity. The only thought in his head at the time was that the young lady would still approve of him. He would then shake his head shamelessly. I will be taking the chef of this restaurant into custody now. I apologize on behalf of the owner for the events that have transpired here today. But you can rest assured that the problem has been taken care of. If any of you had your meals interrupted, I know of a restaurant on the fourth floor of the tower with a menu I would personally recommend. Kreig would be the first to reply. Be it a shame my congratulations you shall receive. Pathetically I must be conceived, yet I shall prosper from it. [break][break] After Kreig would move over toward the young lady in which he had brought to restaurant. Apologies madam be it I look like fool. Kreig would extend his hand to the young lady. The honor would be mine for ye let me be thy mate once more. The look in the young ladies face was nothing short of amazement. Of course Kreig. I would love to have you take me out once more. I don't that you're a fool, in fact I believe your actions were honestly brave and upstanding. It was obvious the she knew little to nothing about the duties and codes of a magic knight. This mattered not to Kreig as the words of the lady would uplift his spirits. Very well, a date we shall call it. With that the lightning mage would take the young lady by her hand and the both of the would make their way leaving the premises. [break] Cyrus Elwood❂
