Day 0
Standing in her room in the Black Bull base Ivy checked her travel bag, although it wasn't what one would expect a royal to have since it wasn't some fine crafted accessory but more like a potato bag that had holes modified into it and a draw string that allowed someone to hold it over their shoulders or let it hang, it was more suited for the type of journey she was going to have.
Peering into her bag she noted she had two loafs of bread and a pound of dried meat, three canisters of water. She would take more with her but in doing so she might make others question where she was going, she wanted to be alone for this journey, she was going to go to a region full of Mandrakes and it might not be ideal to go alone since it was on the Wildlands but she wanted the experience anyway. She had spent almost a year training in the forest before becoming a magic knight but this time she was going to a dangerous area so it was best to travel lightly and live off the land to avoid carrying too much dead weight.
Tying the bag close she swung it over her shoulder allowing it to hang without her holding it as it dangled mid-air close to her side as she made the way out of the base. She had on her usual gloves , black skirt with golden seeds and plain shirt along with her magic knight mantle and grimoire to the left of her clasped and locked in, even while training she was still part of it and always ready to protect and serve the people of Clover. Making her way out of the base Ivy turned around and waved goodbye, she was going to be gone for at least a week and hopefully she would feel a lot stronger and better grasp on her magical abilities.
Leaving Sosshi by cart that was heading west towards the Wildlands, as a noble it was probably the most reckless place she could go to especially with her magic being more specialized in deliberating enemies more than doing damage but at the same time this leap in her training difficulty was what she felt would push her, playing safe forever wasn't even possible In her line of work. The trip to the Wildlands area she was trying to go to was about a day's journey, meaning she had five days to train.
Originally taking a cart a few hours later the cart took her as far as it could go but luckily after an hour of travel by foot she found a traveling farm family trading dry goods to a small village just outside of the Wildlands that cut her travel time by a few hours, it looks like she would have daylight to make a camp outside of the mandrake region before night fall. Riding in a haystack cart in the group Ivy laid back but focused on her mana and thought about why her magic took mana from others on contact and why she could feel the flow of mana in her suddenly increase in her in that moment, it felt like she was just like the trees she made, taking in mana instead of water to grow.
Feeling the cart stop Ivy rose halfway up seeing that they were rolling into a small village, thanking the caravan people she leapt off and took her que to leave heading further towards the border of the Wildlands according to her map. Walking the course on the map she saw a few wild animals such as deer, a squirrel and a fox but as she kept going she approached a forest, trees long and an endless sea of leaves blocking the depths from view. "This must be it.." Ivy said, closing the map and trying to peek into the forest depths but failed.
She had about two and a half hours of daylight left so the forest could wait until tomorrow, focusing her attention on using her magic to grow a small tree Ivy, transformed a portion of it into a metal axe and began chopping down her own tree to use as firewood. Creating a small space Ivy threw the chopped wood into a stack, using two rocks she would slide them across quickly creating sparks and doing it several times until enough sparks set the fire wood on fire. A separate log for her to lay her body against in front of the fire as nightfall approached, using a stick she opened her bag and took out one of the loaves of bread, tearing off about a quarter of it, and a piece of dried meat, taking small bites as she stared into the fire just as the night life in the first came to life. Drinking a bit of water from the canister Ivy pondered how it felt to be stronger than most of the peers, once she got stronger would she change? Staring into the fire she amused herself with the thought of being able to make her family and the Kingdom proud of her strength as an individual.
