In a last ditch effort at either killing or beating all of you, as well as dragging the ship being attacked down to the depths, the Sea Witch has released a shriek so powerful it made the ocean itself stir. Moments later, large tentacles begin wrapping themselves around the ship as a large beak begins chipping away at the hull from beneath the waves. Should it succeed in making a hole, it will be only a matter of time before water begins to fill the ship and the weakness in the ship's integrity will allow the Kraken's mighty tentacles to break the entire thing in two. Put the sea witch to death, for real this time, and take out her pet behemoth along with her!

Health Limit: Senior [break]Physical Speed: 10 m/s (15 m/s underwater) [break]Physical Damage: Senior [break]Magic Element and Types: Sound | Attack Creation [break]Combat Style: The Sea Witch uses sound magic to amplify the sound of her voice, releasing deafening shrieks that could make someone's ears bleed and cause a ringing in one's head so violent that it can render them both blind and deaf for an entire post. Because her vocal abilities are ineffective on serpent biology, she can freely utilize her shrieks while her footsoldiers fight for her. [break]Additional Information: Unlike the male slavers, the female has a more humanoid form. While her lower body is still that of a sea serpent, her upper body is in many ways similar to that of an adult woman, save for the fact that she does not have a skin but rather has scales.
Health Limit: Grand [break]Physical Speed: 20 m/s (30 m/s underwater) [break]Physical Damage: Grand [break]Magic Element and Types: - [break]Combat Style: Flailing its massive tentacles around, it can easily crush someone to death by smacking or swatting at them. Raanalinde controls the beast to some extent, allowing it to attack more accurately in spite of not being able to see what is going on on top of the ship. Getting rid of her first makes the attacks more erratic, but also puts the ship in greater danger. [break]Additional Information: This massive beast is used by the slavers as a ship killer, allowing the slavers to pick off the helpless sailors that have been cast adrift and making it easier for them to be dragged down into the depths and get put to work. Having been raised from birth by Raanalinde, it is fiercely loyal and will not be swayed to back down once it has been given a purpose.
With the witch sent back to the depths and her forces utterly massacred, Griswold let a deep sigh escape his lips. For as easily as it came to him, he was not one who enjoyed ending lives in such a manner, if at all. If it could be helped, he would have much appreciated it if those he fought could be dissuaded from their actions, which was quite honestly something he tried to see to fairly often. But the sad reality was that for all of his attempts, the overly large majority of those he encountered did not want to be swayed from their course of action, meaning the only way to deal with the situation was to either incapacitate them or kill them. And since he did not believe the correctional institutions of the clover country, or anywhere else in the world had ever done anything to turn someone from the path of villainy, he’d usually resort to the latter.
Because one thing he kept repeating to himself in his head when he had to go killing again was a rather simple sentence. This being that those who had chosen to hurt and kill had also chosen to open themselves up to the same kind of treatment. Looking around after the fighting had come to an end, it seemed the fishing vessel was still fairly unharmed and more than capable of continued sailing after this whole ordeal, though he could understand if the people they had saved from this attack might not feel like heading out to sea just yet. In fact, he couldn’t blame them if they took a week off or just picked an entirely different profession now that they had gotten a taste of some of the true dangers of the open oceans. It was something Griswold had found out for himself a good month or two ago during a fishing competition.
As that was not exactly something he wished to relive, and was part of the reason why he preferred to just stick to dry land when doing his work. Wading through all of the serpentine blood that was laying on deck in such large quantities that it actually spilled out over the side and into the ocean, he imagined it was just a matter of time before the sharks would be coming in to have a look. When asked about the kind of animal Griswold considered to be scariest to him, the shark was one of those animals that came to mind. Not because of the fact that it could sniff out blood from miles away, had several rows of saw-like teeth or because it had all the things it needed to be an apex predator in its own biome, but because of the fact that it excelled where he himself was weakest. Under water, his spells were not nearly as effective as they were above, what with the large volumes of water distorting his magic.
And just like fire died when submerged in water, so did his solar magic get severely weakened when utilized beneath the waves. If he were to be attacked by anything such as a wolf, a bear, a goblin, a troll or a wyvern, he would have his magic or his weaponry to fall back on, killing his adversaries with relative ease should it be unavoidable. But when dealing with creatures that hid beneath the waves and forced someone into their territory, that’s when he would truly struggle, this being something he was incredibly weary of. So now that everyone was safe, he made his way back over to the ferry where all of the people were so he could have a conversation with the boy on how to continue from here on out. It was clear that they could make their way back over to the mainland soon, though that meant part of the crew would at least need to commandeer their own vessel again and sail it back to the port.
But as he was about to make his way over from one ship onto the other, he could feel something stirring beneath the ship, causing the larger of the two vessels to rock from side to side as if hitting land. Clearly though that was not the case, as the boat had been dead in the water since they got here and the nearest stretch of land was several minutes of sailing behind them in Hapshass. Remaining weary as this might very well be the cause of his earlier inability to accurately sense what was keeping him from sensing the amount of enemies they were dealing with, a second blow resonated throughout the ship as Griswold had a hard time maintaining his footing and almost got knocked over the railing. Holding on with both hands, he looked on as something was slowly rising from the water between the two ships, pushing them apart from one another with enough force to almost knock them over entirely.
Once the tentacles started rising from the depths, the solar mage instantly had flashbacks of the time when he had been forced to fend off various young Kraken that were attacking the ship of captain Smack of the crimson lions. Flailing about, it was clear that this beast had been around the entire time, just waiting to be called into action as some kind of last resort, some kind of ship killer to keep those that attempted to escape from doing so. At this point, Griswold came to realize that the first thing they had to do was to make sure that the beast could not do what it did best, which was to wrap itself around the ferry and just drag the whole thing down into the abyss. With it being located between the two ships right now and having its head submerged beneath the waves, it was hard to see what it was currently focused on.
But that did not really matter right now, as what it focused on could switch at a moment’s notice, thus turning the entire situation flat on its ass. Drawing his large blade yet again, only to see that the blood of the slavers was still fresh and hadn’t yet caked against it yet, he tried to estimate just how long the tentacles were, and how much further it was to the base of the creature’s body where it was attached. Because severing the tip or half of it was only going to piss it off, something he knew from last time he had encountered such a beast, so he had to go about this in a smart manner that would either inflict so much pain that it would swim off, or killed it in one fell swoop. And as this was clearly not a young kraken but a full fledged adult, that was not going to be nearly as easy as last time.
[attr="class","noahtext"]Young mage was still on the ferry, making sure all of the passengers would be able to get on the ship without much problem. Having their ship assaulted, without much space of evacuation must have been a traumatizing experience, and Noah would try and emphasize with them. On the surface, he was asking really calm and smiling, as he was offering his hand to the men and women of the attacked ship, respectfully pointing them to go and hide under the deck, but on the inside he was screaming. Good thing that there was not much place for anxiety, as there were a lot of things going on and his focus was constantly shifting between situation on his ferry and the battle Griswold was having on the other ship. Noah would have wished he could help him more, but seeing that his spell actually assisted him in an efficient manner, there was a sense of pride in that. At least he didn’t just jump straight in as the last time, exposing himself and all the civilians for a direct attack of a sound witch. After the last person would climb down the chain, Noah would help them to jump on the ferry and escort them under the deck. [break] Coming down, there wasn’t much light present which might have been a good thing as it wasn’t a nice sight at the moment. A lot of people being crunched, terrified with almost zero personal space in a damp room which was constantly moving as the waves were hitting the ship and making it move. Noah was getting very nauseous from the whole situation, as his stomach was all over the place. It wasn’t so bad on the surface level, but here being with those people, having a limited access to oxygen, it was just worse. Good thing that he didn’t plan to stay here much longer, as his original goal was to calm them down and quickly scan if someone was injured so badly they would need immediate treatment. “Hello, my name is Noah and companion that is currently fighting the mana beasts is Griswold. I believe those serpents attacked the ship out of pure spite, because we eliminated couple of their camps which they would use to gather and trade human slaves.” He tried to smile, however it was really hard at this moment as the people were really scared and confused. “Anyway, everything is good, the serpents are not as strong as you might think, and Griswold is extremely powerful mage. We will try and make sure your ship stays undamaged, however for the time being it would be good to stay here, so you don’t come to more harm.” With this he wanted to leave, but then remembered to ask about wounded people.[break] “Is anyone wounded so badly they would need immediate attention?” Young mage was really hoping that no one would say so, because he had no way of healing them, as it seemed that his own magic was against the concept of healing itself. Luckily, no one did, and he believed them, they all were a little bruised, wounded but there wasn’t much of a fight marks, which was mostly thanks to Griswold´s fast involvement on the other ship. Noah just exhaled, obviously happy and then continued. “Very well, so please stay here and once everything is figured out and safe for you to continue, I will come back and help you get back on your ship.” With this, he waved a little and proceeded to get back on board, only to see a shooting star on the other ship and a lot of loose limbs flying all over the place. It was obvious that Griswold was winning, to no one´s surprise. Noah was glad that he at least had some visual marker on him, being it his radiant solar mana. Even though they were relatively close to each other right now, Noah´s sight wasn’t that trained that he could have a full grasp on the situation that was going on over there.[break] By the amount of blood spilling over the deck, it was obvious that Griswold wasn’t holding back, and Noah was just glad that he wasn’t there. He decided he would stay on the ferry with evacuated people, because if more slavers would show up, they would have very easy access to the people that were currently hiding under the deck. With Noah present on the ship, there was at least a certain level of protection, and young mage was very confident in his skills now. Looking back on the situation with Griswold, it seemed like there was only the sea witch left, which was a good sign and also suggested that the battle would be over soon and they would get their job done. Of course, what would come next would be to help the civilians clean their ship, as there was a literal blood spill over there. Noah himself couldn’t imagine being so cruel towards them, even though he felt a certain level of disgust and unlikeness towards the mana beast. His approach would have been a little different, and possibly worse. He wasn’t even sure if taking the serpents to prison was an option, as he could imagine the Clover prisons were on its max capacity anyway. [break] Maybe it was just good that solar mage got rid of them in a quick way, without not more pain than needed. It was rather absurd to what degree could Noah still sympathize towards the beasts who literally enslaved people and were about to kill a bunch of innocent civilians, but he was also well aware that those serpents might have had their reasons for doing so, but mostly it seemed like what they were after right now was just a pure act of revenge. Noah wanted to hope it was a revenge for their fallen comrades, which would actually make them more human in his eyes, but he wasn’t completely ignorant to the possibility it was just an outrage for the interruption of the slave supplies. Either was it was almost done right now, as witch attempted to attack Griswold a few times, yet couldn’t even damage him properly.[break] It was funny how different those encounters with witches were, with Noah she nearly managed to dangerously damage him, while with Griswold it almost felt like if he was mocking her. Noah could see small sound waves that were directed towards him, but he could also very well see how easily nullified they were by his mana skin. Coming to think of it, he was really surprised the sound waves were visible to him, because with his gravity, a lot of people couldn’t see it. Noah worked on his sensory a little bit, but this didn’t seem to be the case. Gravity was in the end just a superior element, and it made sense that sound mana would be visible even to an untrained eye. [break] The whole spectacle ended, as Noah saw witch flying through the railing into the sea. He wasn’t sure if she was dead already, but knowing Griswold she most likely was. Otherwise, it could be really dangerous, cause neither one of them had any idea how they behaved underwater, or if their regenerative capabilities didn’t increase. Both of them would also be heavily handicapped, but Noah just stopped with these thought as it was over and they could focus on the practicalities now. That being said, it wasn’t really over. [break] There was this urgent feeling of something happening under water. Seeing that Griswold´s ship was in a turbulent state, Noah got very concerned as there was no way that either dead or almost-dead witch was doing this. This was something on a much larger scale, however it was underwater and Noah couldn’t really figure out what it was. He´d imagine that if he had his sensory capabilities more developed there would be much more information, but seeing as Griswold himself was surprised as well, apparently this wasn’t that easily predicted contrary to initial thought. It didn’t take long, as monumental slimy tentacles rose up from the ocean, reaching through the air as if they searched for something to hold on to. Noah just froze in disbelief, because this was just too much. As if it wasn’t enough for them to eliminate two slave camps and save a ship from assault, they now had to fight Kraken? Young mage never believed these beasts exist, or if they did they would certainly not rose up from the depths of the ocean, but this might have been the last strike of a dying witch. [break] Noah couldn’t see what was going on underneath the water, but he hoped the Kraken had no way of seeing when he was submerged. Only thing he could probably use were his tentacles, which were present and they all seemed to be constantly reaching for something. As they rose up from the sea, the distance between the two ships has gotten greater, due to the sheer pressure of tentacles rising from the water. This meant that Griswold and Noah would be more separated now, which might have been okay for the solar mage, however Noah was feeling a little helpless. He knew he had to stay on the ferry, as there were civilians who would possibly die just from a one strike. Ideally, he would just wait for Griswold to attempt and do something, he could see his mana glowing brightly from the distance, which was a good thing because it meant he was still left unharmed. Noah would eventually try and use his gravity magic to assist him, but doing something on his own and risking the wrath of legendary mana beast just didn’t seem like a right thing to do.

[attr="class","noahnotes"]Notes, spells and stuff[break]
Looking down on the flailing tentacles that rose from the depths, the first thing he thought about was how this was clearly not a young specimen, as he had seen those before already. Based on the amount of tentacles, he could also tell that he was dealing with a single adult kraken, which at least was a good thing that also proved an earlier theory of his to be true. When he had been assailed by kraken for the first time in his life, something he had hoped would also be the last time in his life at that point, the amount of tentacles that had risen from below were far more numerous, as well as being shorter and a lot thinner. By comparison, it was fairly easy to see that this one was at the very least an adolescent, if not a full adult. As for his theory, he had theorized that the only time they had been attacked by a band of roving kraken was because they had hatched not too long ago.
Believing it to be their first hunt, he figured that, as was the case with a lot of aquatic predators, they would eventually grow up and set out in search of their own territory, one they would not have to share with their brothers and sisters. Still, knowing this much really did not do a whole lot for him as it was clear that this was by no means a wild animal. The timing at which it had risen from the depths was too damn convenient, coinciding with the moment at which the sea witch had been blasted into the water. Had it been a wild animal, there might have been a chance for them to just hurt it sufficiently and make it scurry off, but if it had been trained to be a ship killer for the slavers, the chance of it backing down before it had done the job it had come here to do seemed slim. Still, it was worth a shot, or so he believed as he formed a sphere of solar mana in the palm of his hand.
As he was about to fire, the orb split in half before replenishing itself in terms of size, thus sending out two orbs at the tentacles located closer to the ferry. With a bit of luck, the damage they’d sustain would cause enough pain to the creature to shift away from the boat and move closer to the fishing vessel, making it easier for Griswold to use his more powerful spells without having to worry about harming anyone else in the process. As the two spheres exploded, the resulting shockwave pushed the ferry and the kraken further apart with quite a bit of force, but that much was to be expected. At least for the time being, this meant the beast would not be able to reach any of the survivors. Though not as loud as it otherwise might have been, the beast roared in pain beneath the waves, sending one of its tentacles straight through the two masts of the fishing vessel. This caused one of them to crash into the sea and the other to fall flat onto the ship itself.
Quickly moving from where he stood, the wooden mast collapsed into the nose of the ship, causing a portion of it to break off and drop into the water. But it did not stop there, as the beast was gradually working towards lifting itself out of the water more, using three tentacles to wrap around the boat in various positions. At this point, breaking the ship itself would not be quite as difficult as one might imagine it to be, though that did not seem to be the point, not yet at least. For as it used the ship as a means of lifting itself, it rose from the ocean to show its main body, several large and angry looking eyes, as well as the sea witch he believed would have perished in the blow standing on top of it. Noticing several large burns wounds all over her body, he did not think she would really be needing a whole lot of extra damage to actually kill her, though it was clear that what little time she had spent under water had likely been what saved her from dying right away.
“You did not think me defeated so easily did you? We merely saved our ship breaker for last. Once it has gotten rid of you, we will be claiming that ship and its people for our king, and avenging the loss of my sister, whom you have slain.”
Not really saying anything in response, it seemed that she was well aware of how the survivors were no longer on this particular ship, meaning she paid attention to the evacuation effort while her men were being slaughtered. True leadership material right there. And as the tentacles around the ship began to tighten, causing the wood to creak and churn as if parts of it could begin busting apart at any moment, it was ever so clear that the witch wished to savor the moment, as most villains did when they believed themselves to be on top. And for what it was worth, she had done a good job at setting all of this up, though that did not meant that she was going to come out of this the victor. With the way things were going, all Griswold needed was to wait for a little longer to make sure the ferry was far enough away, hoping the boy understood that much and worked towards making some distance.
“Tell me landwalker, how well does your magic function beneath the waves?”
Another taunt aimed at wearing down his resolve, hoping she could make him beg as he quaked in fear at the sight of such an imposing beast of the depths. If nothing else, Griswold felt sorry for the beast, as he would very much have gone about doing this in a way that meant that it could survive. Unfortunately, with the sea witch riding on top of it and forcing it to attack, there did not really seem to be much of a chance of it backing down. Besides, if it were to survive, a trained beast such as this one would likely just venture back home, meaning it could be used by whoever might take over the position of the sea witch in new raids and attacks along the shore. So as much as he wished it were otherwise, he knew that he had to kill the both of them, preferably at the same time. With that realization, he looked the witch in the eyes, giving her the answer she sought.
“Unfortunately, that’s not something you’ll get to find out, witch”

Name of Spell: Variable Star: Parallax Elemental Type: Solar Rank & Spell Type: Senior | Attack Creation & Sensory Range & Speed: 100 meters (40 m AoE) | 50 m/s Mana Cost: 30 mp | 15 mp sustain Stats Effected: +9 Power, Blind Applicable Perks: Overpowered, Quick Shot, Skilled Sniper & Battle Knight (& Area of Triumph) Description: A spell that releases a fast moving ball of solar mana at a target determined upon the moment of creation. Utilizing "homing" rules in order to chase down the target until the projectile is destroyed or the caster runs out of mana, it also uses "ammo" rules to increase the amount of projectiles fired by 1 for every 75 Control the caster has. Initialized by first making himself glow before firing them, in addition, these projectiles flare up from time to time, allowing them to blind those looking at it for one whole post. These "stars" can flare up to blind someone once every two posts in which they're active, making them rather tricky to deal with. Upon hitting a target, they explode to cover a certain radius, knocking targets back 8 meters + 5 meters for every 10 Power the caster possesses. During the day, the spell takes on an orange hue, taking on a silver blue hue after dark.
[attr="class","noahtext"]Noah had very little to none information about what was going on at Griswold´s side as the distance was currently just becoming bigger and bigger. Spectating from afar, he could tell that the witch they thought to be dead was indeed not dead, and as it was something young mage has given a thought before, it really seemed like the water saved her. Being only natural, that monsters like her would be at a great advantage underwater, Noah got quite impressed to be honest. She wasn’t looking very good, as even from apart it was obvious that she suffered severe damage and is probably only standing because of the drive of revenge she wishes to achieve. Noah was quite unsure how to feel about all of this, because he weirdly understood her point, not that he would agree with it. However, the fact that she was able to control a beast of such measures meant that she was extremely dangerous, not only for Griswold and Noah but for the whole kingdom of Clover. It was right thing to actually get rid of her, as well as the beast, that she has apparently tamed and fully took under her control. Noah would just assume this had something to do with her sound magic, which she had shown just moments before she would drop down to the sea, after an encounter with Solar mage. [break] The beast though, as the battle unraveled, the tentacles have started sapping through the air and were dangerously close to ferry Noah and the civilians were on. Doing his best to make them not hit the ship itself, Noah was trying to apply pressure each time a tentacle would approach closer than needed. This wasn’t very effective, as his own abilities didn’t allow him to manipulate such a heavy weigh as limbs of kraken. What seemed to help was an intervention done by Griswold from afar, which seemed to damage the tentacles with radiant orbs, making it retreat for a brief moment before shrieking terribly. Noah could understand that it got hurt, which was a good thing. It was still capable of feeling pain, and even though Noah had no idea how high of a level that certain spell was, it seemed to react to the rapidly increased heat, unlike his dull pressure of the gravity forces. All of this eventually led up to making a bigger distance between the beast and the ferry, as well as Noah and Griswold. [break] Maybe it was a good thing, Noah had civilians on the ship and in case the kraken got hold of it, it would be much more difficult to kill it without hurting anyone. This way, Griswold got some space for spells he might not have done with vulnerable people being so close. Noah was just spectating the rise of the beast, as it revealed itself from underwater, weirdly attaching itself around the ship. Noah got a little concerned, he knew Griswold was a very capable mage, but would he be able to handle the beast and a dying witch alone? He saw how he slain those serpents before, even the witch, twice now, but this mana beast seemed to be on a completely different level now. Young mage went directly to the worst case scenario possible, and started thinking what he should do in case Griswold would turn out to be losing. With this distance, it didn’t seem like there was a lot of place for any support, but suddenly it hit him. The fact that Griswold attacked the beast, he managed to somehow unconsciously push off the ferry Noah was currently on. This would help keep the civilians safe. [break] Noah finally smiled in this whole nightmare, as he got an idea what to do. Hoping that Griswold would still see him, he tried to catch his attention by waving rapidly, and once he would think the solar mage is looking, he would just raise his thumb up, which probably wasn’t visible anyway. He wanted to make sure that Griswold knew he wasn’t running away from the fight, but just trying to evacuate the innocent people, who by the time were locked in that small damp room under the deck from quite some time now. Noah would rush to the captain on the ferry, or owner as he didn’t seem like an exact captain. When he arrived, he found rather unhappy scene, the man was knocked out unconscious on the ground, possibly from the giant wave shifts made him bounce so hard he hit his head. Noah panicked for a little moment but quickly bend down to help him. First thing he would attempt to check on his pulse, which he had no idea how it was done, but the mean seemed to be alive, as he was still breathing. [break] Noah didn’t like what he had to do next, but there wasn’t much more time for a more coherent plans. He quickly slapped the man a couple times, in an attempt to wake him up, as well as splashing a bit of water on his face. The man would cough a couple times before waking up, only to find Noah smiling mischievously and trying to explain himself. “Hello sir, sorry for everything that is going on. You passed out possibly from the huge waves, but now I need you to ride this boat once again, we are further away from the danger now, but it would be ideal to attempt to get as close to the shore as possible.” The man, after saying a few swear words being obviously enraged by the fact that he didn’t ask to be dragged into all of this, agreed and stepped back up to the steering wheel, as Noah would rush up on the deck once again, to see what was going on in the distance with the Griswold. Good thing was that he could still see a small dot, and therefore it even seemed like the battle hasn’t begun just yet. [break] Noah wanted to check up on the people hiding below the deck, before he would proceed to his other part of the plan, but after seeing what happened with the captain, he was rather scared what he would find out. Also that room was way smaller and the way they have been stuck there like sardines in a can, made him calmer. They would definitely be damaged but not outright knocked unconscious. “Good, let´s go!” He shouted, as no one could hear him and he really needed a boost of confidence right now. He would then go as close as possible to the back of the ship, leaning over the railing and clapping rapidly. “Engulfing Thrust.” With this simple gesture, magic circle would form in front of him, and thanks to the direction he was leaning it, it was directed towards the water level. It instantly started emitting gravity magic, applying a rather heavy pressure to the water, attempting to make the boat go faster it would originally go. If the Kraken decided to change its target out of nothing, it was obvious the ferry wasn’t faster than a majestic mana beast, however this way they would at least get a head start. Trusting the man driving the ship, Noah was really hoping they would go towards the shore, however he was still alerted about the situation that became harder and harder to read with the increasing distance. If Griswold fell into any trouble, he would just make the ship rotate and go there, even if it wasn’t the smartest move.

Elemental Type: Gravity Rank & Spell Type: Intermediate | Attack Creation, Sensory Range & Speed: 40 meters | 10 m/s | AoE 20 meters Mana Cost: 24 | 12 Stats Effected: Power +4 Applicable Perks: Knock-back, Careful Weaving Description: Engulfing Thrust activates with a simple clap, Noah starts emitting massive amount of mana in half-circular shape in front of him. Everything within the range of 20 meters in front of him is affected by the spell and upon hit takes intermediate rank damage in forms of moderate bone cracks or minor breaks, as well as being knocked back 4 meters and additional 5 meters for every 10 power Noah has. This spell is invisible, as long as the enemy doesn’t have 30 sensory. If they had it, they could see a two-dimensional circle in front of Noah emitting the gravity forces. This spell can be also used for the redirecting mechanics, allowing Noah to redirect every incoming attack of its rank or lower once per three posts if he has required control to do so. Noah can use his sensory abilities to exclude one of his his allies (Careful Weaving perk) from the area of effect and any additional allies per ammo rules.
As if they were somehow aware of what Griswold was up to on the ferry, they had started working towards putting some distance between the fishing vessel, Griswold, the sea witch and her kraken. Undoubtedly aided by the fact that he had almost killed her and left her disfigured by flame for the rest of her life, for however long that would still be at this point, all it had taken for her to go into a fit of rage was the simple taunt the black bull had sent in her direction. Ordering the beast to use the remaining tentacles to slam down upon the ship, the steering cabin got smashed along with the stairs heading down into the hold as a large tear was starting to form across the width of the ship. As for Griswold, he found it relatively easy to evade such large targets, which just went to further aid in the overall anger the witch was experiencing.
Using her sonic screams as a means of attacking and distracting while the large marine beast was flailing about, the sound magic attacks were less easy to avoid altogether, causing him to get hit every once in a while. Whenever he did, a tentacle would clash against his position only moments after, so he did not have the luxury of remaining still for too long. Luckily for him, his mana skin would dampen the magical blows quite well, though having to also tank one of those massive tentacles would undoubtedly result in him getting slammed right through the ship and into the depths. Once there, Griswold was going to be at a massive disadvantage, which was clearly not something either he or any of the people on the escaping ferry could use right now. So as one of the tentacles came crashing down again, this time finishing the break and causing the boat to rip in two, he could see that the ferry was now more or less out of the blast radius.
Due to the ship breaking apart, the kraken no longer had as good a “footing” as part of the ship it held on to was quickly sinking as the other portion was starting to topple over. Beginning to charge a large portion of his mana as he moved to the faultline, standing on the part of the ship that was gradually being elevated as the other end started slowly sinking beneath the waves. Holding one finger above him, a small orb started to form that was no bigger than the average apple, so the witch did not think too much of it. But that was exactly its power, the short buildup making it seem like this minuscule bit of mana which most would scoff at. That said, it would not be long after that before that little ball of solar mana expanded itself in the blink of an eye to become this massive sun of roughly seventy-five meters in size. Staring up at this heavenly body that had just formed itself, the witch undoubtedly knew what would come next.
As the wood on the fishing vessel began to char and catch fire, the upper layer of the sea began to vaporize and create a thin mist which itself vaporized the moment it got even remotely close to the large solar sphere, all while the light radiating from the sphere blinded any onlookers due to the sheer luminosity. While it might seem like overkill to some, it was the only way for him to kill the kraken without it having to suffer through a series of attacks, as well as the kind of attack that would not just allow the witch to escape her death a second time. Looking down on the witch who had already stopped screeching at this point began punching and whipping her tail against the top of the large marine predator, getting it to submerge itself and lead her to safety. But that was not going to happen, not anymore. After all of the things she and her kind had pulled here, Griswold could not and would not risk her setting up shop again somewhere in the future.
Bringing down his hand and pointing his finger at the witch in particular, it only took a moment for the homebrew sun to just collapse into the witch, the kraken and the surface of the sea with a speed of eighty-five meters per second, by which it burrowed itself far enough down into the sea to cover most of itself in sea water and extinguish large portions of itself to keep the fallout to a minimum, for however much as that was worth. Evaporating large volumes of water and incinerating both the witch and her beast in the blink of an eye, for a moment, a hole had formed in the sea itself. But as was the case with that kind of thing, the sea quickly moved to reclaim the territory it had lost as the hole seemed to instantly fill itself up by the near limitless amounts of sea water surrounding it. And as the hole filled, a large wave of roughly six meters in height got sent out in all directions, crashing against the fishing vessel and giving it the last push it needed for it to fully submerge and sink to the bottom of the sea.
But as he himself had no intention of going down along with it, he had already coated himself in solar mana and begun making his way back towards the ferry. Moving at a relatively high speed, he did not want to catch up to the boat by the time it had already reached the shore, as this little stunt had taken up quite a solid amount of mana. As he flew, he managed to catch up with the wave that was moving out towards the ferry, noticing that it had already gone down by about a meter in size as the water was becoming more and more shallow in this direction. And that was a good thing, as a wave of its original size would more than likely have washed over the ferry and given everyone a quick and salty shower. But as it was now, it would just crash against the side, and that would be the end of it. So when he reached the ferry just in time to actually feel the wave hit, he deactivated his spell and exhaled a deep sigh.

Name of Spell: Galactic Nucleus: Supergiant Elemental Type: Rank & Spell Type: Grand | Attack Creation Range & Speed: 170 meters (80 m AoE) | 85 m/s Mana Cost: 50 mp | 25 mp sustain Stats Effected: +12 Power, Blind Applicable Perks: Overpowered, Quick Shot, Skilled Sniper & Battle Knight (& Area of Triumph) Description: Initialized by either holding up a finger in the air or pointing a weapon straight up into the air to use the tip as a vocal point, this spell forms a small orb of heavily compressed solar mana, which expands into a massive sphere of roughly 75 cubic meters. Moving quickly, the sheer size of this spell make the "single target" aspect rather pointless as it will incinerate the target and anything standing next to it on impact. Either when hitting a solid object, an equally powerful spell or the designated target, it will violently erupt (explosion AoE range can not venture outside the maximum range of 150 meters). The sheer luminosity of this spell is enough to make any who look at it blind for one whole post, as the impact of the spell warps the area beyond repair, destoying the vast majority of buildings hit and causes all those hit by it to be knocked back for 16 meters + 5 meters for every 10 power the user has. By using the "Ammo" rules, Griswold can determine who will and who will not be harmed by the spell.
Name of Spell: Celestial Body: Alpha Cygni Elemental Type: Solar Rank & Spell Type: Senior | Physical Reinforcement & Healing Range & Speed: Self | 50 m/s Mana Cost: 30 mp | 15 mp sustain Stats Effected: +20 m/s Applicable Perks: Full Blitz & Quick Shot Description: By making himself glow while focusing his solar mana tightly around and inside himself and keeping it there, rather than allowing it to be released in an explosive manner, the caster can push off of air and water molecules, thus allowing them to essentially run through the air and on water for the duration of the spell. More than that, by channeling their mana in this manner, they also increase the speed at which they move by +10 m/s and enable themselves to use fractions of it to restore their own body or restore their mana skin. Can heal Senior damage, regrow digits in two posts, and regrow limbs and minor/smaller non-vital organs in four posts. For every turn that it is active, it will also aim to remove any debuffs if present following the "cleaning" rules. During the day, the aura around the caster takes on an orange hue, taking on a silver blue hue after dark.
[attr="class","noahtext"]A lot was happening while Noah was focusing on getting the ferry as far away as possible. Still seeing a very little in the far distance, it seemed like the fight between Griswold and the witch and her kraken has come to fully start. Thing that was visible the most of course were the kraken tentacles, but seeing little vibrant dot jumping around them was making Noah calmer. It didn’t matter than Griswold looked like a firefly from such distance, but he was obviously keeping up with the mana beast and so far didn’t look like he needed any assistance from the gravity mage. Which was a good thing, because when Noah saw the tempo of the battle, he already knew that he would have problems keeping up. The speed with which both the grand mage and a grand mana beast were moving were far above his level, and it only made him consider training it in future. So far it looked like being swift was a great advantage on the battlefield, comparing his spells with others, it just felt like they were a tad slower than the rest. And it wasn’t just the fact that they were weaker but in general. [break] Talking about speed, the ferry has made a fair distance from the battle, which made Noah stop the spell with which he was accelerating the boat to get away as far as possible. He then proceeded to run back to the owner of the ship. “Okay, can we please stop now? We are in a great distance and my teammate will still need us to be reachable in case things go south.” Noah was serious now, but at the same time little excited. There was something very soothing about spectating the major battle from a far, in this voyeuristic manner. Nevertheless, he was still ready to turn the ship around and rush back if it came to critical point, however he could already see how the man driving the ship could have problems with that. Hoping it wouldn’t come to that, Noah just hit the railing and turned to the battle to spectate as much as possible, even from the great distance. What he could really use right now was a pair of binoculars, so that he would get a better idea of what was going on the battlefield. This quick idea actually made him realize that things like these are usually on the ships, and he rushed back to the captain once again, quickly grabbing the binoculars from his cabin and coming back to his place. [break] It would probably be smarter to escort people to shore first, so in case Griswold failed to slay the beast and it´s master, at least the civilians would remain unharmed. Thanks to the new equipment of binoculars now, Noah could however see that there will not be a need for doing such things, as Griswold himself was performing really good, being able to dodge most of the beast´s attacks as well as ignoring the witch´s screams and different shenanigans of sound mage. Noah was feeling like a spectator of an exam of some kind, but the situation was rather serious. The thing was, if the solar mage failed, the mana beast would not only destroy the ferry with all those civilians, but given the bloodlust of the witch, it was very probable that they would soon make their way over to the shores of the city of Hapshass, with hundreds of innocent civilians being possibly in a grave danger. Trying not to overthink it, Noah noticed that Griswold was casting some spell which seemed to be a little different from all his previous ones. [break] A small orb of radiant mana has formed above him, and in an instant like manner expanded into a great size. Noah really couldn’t understand much, as the glow was blinding and he was forced to look away for a minute so the blinding lights wouldn’t leave permanent damage on his eyes. However, hearing a terrible roar, Noah could understand that this could very much be a final blow, looking away to see if the glow was still so intensive, he managed to look back on the scene and was honestly struck by what he witnessed. The orb of the solar mana left a huge hole in the sea, vaporizing the water and creating a dense mist, which was even present around the ferry. The power of that spell was monumental, making hole with a heat based magic into the sea, even if for a brief moment was something unheard of. Noah could pretty much already tell that the battle was over by this time, as even he, with his weak sensory could feel the overwhelming power of the spell that was just casted. It felt like if Griswold didn’t want the kraken to suffer, which made sense as it was obviously under the control of the witch, who by now was probably also dead from the spell. [break] Noah wasn’t sure if it was the kraken or the spell, but the original ship was pretty much destroyed and he didn’t look forward to explaining the scared and confused people under the deck what happened with it. Well, with the events of such caliber, it was obvious that there would be some great losses, but Noah was happy that as far as he could no human died. Seeing Griswold fleeing the scene, he was directed towards the location of ferry, and even if the mist was still present, Noah tried to wave in order to show their location, even if the solar mage probably didn’t need it. Once Griswold has arrived back onto the ship, Noah just smiled. He felt like he wanted to give him a pat on a shoulder, but it felt inadequate and therefore just spoke. “You literally made a smaller version of sun, didn’t you?” He asked happily, as it seemed like this struggle with ruthless slavers was pretty much done by this point. [break] One thing that bothered him was knowing that these were not the only serpents that existed, and that there were still more, but also this was a time for a small celebration as it looked that the problem has been solved for now. Noah would then just go under the deck to alert people that the threat was over, but he still didn’t feel like telling them that their ship was pretty much gone forever now. He felt like Griswold could handle this situation anyway, so after all of the survivors made it out of the underdeck, Noah just came and stood beside Griswold, as if they had an announcement to make. “We should take them back to Hapshass to infirmary, also you, aren´t you hurt? You just slain a literal kraken…” He was little concerned, but mostly happy. With this, he would just look forward, seeing the shores of Hapshass. [break] [exit]

“I did, it was the only way to kill the creature without harming it. It’s a shame it couldn’t be a spared, just like how it’s a shame the witch died as quickly as she did. It would have been fun to throw something inhuman like her into Balgon prison, don’t you think?”
While he was being somewhat spiteful at the moment over having to kill such a magnificent beast of the deep, there really wasn’t any other way of going about it. He had seen their underwater world, the kingdom they toiled in and the activities they took part in there out of a wicked sense of superiority over all things that dwelled on the mainland. So to have one of them tossed into a human prison would undoubtedly have been quite funny, but would in the end not really have been possible. Slowly regaining what mana he had lost to bring down a small sun on top of the large beast and his keeper, he hadn’t really lost enough to feel tired or anything of the sort. Which was most likely one of the many perks of having elven and dwarven genes running through his body, keeping him physically strong and more or less foreseen of mana to do with as he pleased.
With the people on the ship still reeling from what happened, he wouldn’t talk about the ship perishing, figuring it was more than enough right now that people were actually alive and able to complain to the wizard king’s office for a potential new ship, or funding for one. As for him being injured, aside from his mana skin having taken a beating from the sea witch’s sound magic attacks, which would restore itself in due time, he hadn’t taken as much as a scratch, which was by itself fairly interesting. With the ship having taken so much damage due to all of the attacks that had been aimed at him in particular, it meant his Ki and physical speed had at least been pushed to a level where even such an onslaught might be pushed through without injury, severe or otherwise. Figuring the boy deserved an answer, he brought up only the things that applied to the situation.
“Neh, I’m fine. For all of its attempts, it didn’t actually lay a tentacle on me. The ship however wasn’t as lucky as I was, but I reckon the treasury will be able to account for one fishing boat as it could more or less be classified as collateral damage.”
As he finished answering, he figured he did not need to bore the kid with how his extrasensory abilities had been growing as of late, or how he had been growing somewhat faster and leaned into his speed more than he had before. That much was something he himself should worry about and work on, but the ship however, that was another matter entirely. As it was usually the kind of thing that came with a magic knight taking care of something, he figured this time, something being counted as collateral damage might mean these fishermen might get their ship back. Even if this was the common realm, that still did not mean the people here were actually rich, just richer than those that lived in the forsaken realm. And that really wasn’t saying much, if anything at all. So for what it was worth, he hoped that they would get back some modicum of what was lost here today, if for no reason other than to be able to feed their families.
With the shore coming in fairly quickly, he could imagine how everyone wanted to get their feet back on dry land and go see their families. While the latter of the two did not really affect him personally, Griswold would be more than happy to just feel solid ground beneath his legs again. And for what it was worth, this was going to be the last time he was going on a mission that would take him out to sea, at least for an incredibly long period of time. There was plenty of work to be done within the country itself after all.
