With his journey between the Common region and the Forsaken region, there are plenty of times that Tokage needs to do some jobs to make money and this was one of those times. With his funds running low he visited the local city hall where most odd jobs and requests were posted for whoever wanted to try to do whatever was being advised. So here he was standing in front of this large board wondering what kind of job he wanted to do and what one would be the best in the long run. Sometimes when doing these jobs you might be able to make connections with people in grand standings, like a lord or even a merchant of high standing. Tokage found the one that would work the best for him at that moment. A task that was for the local lord of the area, it looked to be a delivery of some sort though it didn’t go into much detail on the paper. So he grabbed the paper, made his way to the clerk in charge of additional details and requirements that might come along with the task and present what task he wanted to take. The clerk looked at Tokage and then took the paper from the young mage, reading over it a look of annoyance came over his face due to the fact that this task was a bit of a pain to deal with since he would be sending someone to deliver a very valuable and fragile package with a stranger to the castle.

[attr="class","patchAST"] Travelling around the Clover Kingdom brings Pasha to many places, but leaves them with a constant struggle for supplies. They’ve found a solution in taking errands and jobs from anyone they encounter along the way. This time, the blood mage has found themself in Aries Garse short of a day’s meal and without the yul to buy something to tide the hunger over long enough to find a job. [break][break] Arriving at the local job board, Pasha searched for work that would be so simple they wouldn’t collapse from hunger. That was an exaggeration, they only went for one day without food, but their stomach was feeling dramatic. Of all the work that was posted to the board, not a single one seemed as easy as that one asking for someone to deliver a fragile package. In a moment of hesitation, as the mage made their final decision to take that job, another snatched it. [break][break] Pasha shrugged at themself as they followed the taller mage to accept the job; They spent so much time already, deciding whether to take that errand, so they were going to do it regardless of the other mage’s opinion. So the blood mage stood just a little behind of the job-stealing stranger, but enough to the side to see and be seen by the clerk on the other side of the desk. The clerk, whose face shows their concern with the fragile package involved, sighed and fetched the parcel before addressing the two mages on the other side of the desk: “Whoever you decide to carry the package, do not break it.” [break][break] The clerk pushed a small box towards the mages with a defeated look about them, before turning back to some paperwork and moving on from the situation. Pasha was brimming with excitement over shoehorning their way into the job and immediately spoke up to claim the role of ‘package holder.’ [attr="class","patcHAY"]“Oh, oh! I’ll carry it!” They stepped forward to pass the stranger-mage so they could retrieve the box, but coincidentally tripped over their own foot and wound up on the ground with a hand clutching their forehead from when it slammed onto the desk on their way down. The clerk told Tokage that they didn’t care whoever carried the package as long as it got to where it was going unharmed and that confused the young Shengxiao because he was under the assumption he was the only one here to take this task. A voice popped up saying how they would carry the package and then the body that the voice belonged to went around Tokage and attempted to grab the package and Tokage watched as that attempt failed in spectacular fashion. The boy? Girl? Tokage wasn’t sure tripped over their own feet and smacked their forehead against the counter.
“Well two things stranger, one You most certainly won’t be carrying the package upon showing off your fantastic skills of walking and two are you alright?” Tokage said with no hint of malice in his voice, he had been told in the past that how he held himself made it seem like he was cold or distant so he was trying his best to present himself as light hearted and caring. “There doesn’t seem to be any blood so that’s good.” He said as he lowered himself to the stranger’s level to check their wound, “It does look like it might bruise up later on but that’s to be expected when headbutting a solid wood desk.”
Tokage offered his hand to the stranger to help them off the ground, upon taking his offer or not he would go on to introduce himself to his new out of no where companion. “Now that we have had a fantastic first impression I would like to introduce myself, I am Tokage Shengxiao and I look forward to delivering this very fragile package with you to the lord.” Tokage said with a smile on his face.

[attr="class","patchAST"] Pasha’s head throbbed in pain under the hand that grasped where they’d hit their forehead, a pout forming from the ache. The other mage expressing his distrust over the package being in the blood mage’s care in monotone only rubbed salt into their hurt ego. Well, it did - but when Pasha removed their hand to look up at the stranger; he inspected the klutz’s injury. He lowered himself and reassured them it wasn’t bad but might bruise later, but it stunned Pasha when the man took the time to ensure their health. [break][break] [attr="class","patCHK"]‘Tokage Shengxiao,’ Pasha registered the other’s name as he offered them a hand, which they took with a growing heat in their cheeks as Tokage smiled. [attr="class","patCHK"]‘What a kind person.’ [break][break] [attr="class","patcHAY"]“Pasha,” they introduced themself as the now-acquainted individual helped them back to their feet, a bright smile of their own replacing their pout, [attr="class","patcHAY"]“my name is Pasha. I, um… right! Clearly, today is not the day for me to be handling fragile objects, so I’ll trust you with it, Tokage. So lead the way and I’ll be right behind you. Or, I’ll lead the way - although I might get us lost, hehe.” [break][break] The blood mage chuckled at themself before heading to the exit so that they could hold the door open for Tokage. It was the least they could do to repay his kindness, especially now that he distracted Pasha from the pain. [attr="class","patcHAY"]“Let’s get this delivery done, Tokage,” they said again, clearly testing out the man’s name without embarrassment.

“Pasha” The person in front of Tokage called themselves. It seemed that they weren’t injured and would be able to continue the with fulfilling the task. Helping the other mage up off the ground it was nice to see that they didn’t allow this small mishap to bring them down and seemed to be just as energetic as they were prior to the slip. That was always a positive kind of mindset to have and Tokage wasn’t sure if he would be able to brush it off as easily as Pasha did if the situation had been reversed. Tokage watched Pasha hurry to the main door as they intended to hold the door for Tokage, so to now keep them waiting Tokage grabbed the package gently and nodded to the clerk as he followed behind Pasha to the main door. “Yeah lets head on to the lord’s keep. I believe its pretty much a straight shot from here once we hit the main road.” Tokage said as they left the building, looking to the left he could see where they needed to go it wasn’t very far away but they would still need to be careful just due to how fragile the package was. As long as they handed off the package to the keeps guard like they were suppose to they would fulfill their side of the task.
“How about we take things slow and just walk there.” Tokage mentioned as he started down the road towards the keep. “So Pasha, where do you come from? I personally live over in the Common Region.” Tokage mentioned as he begun to make small talk while keeping an eye on those coming towards him to make sure he didn’t slip or bump into anyone or bring any kind of harm to the package.

[attr="class","patchAST"] Following Tokage out the door and onto the road, Pasha dutifully stayed close to the taller mage’s side in case the package ever needed to be handed off or caught. Not that the short mage would be able to catch it, or that the other mage even trusted them to catch it without them inducing damage, but just as a precaution. And because Tokage was an interesting fellow who didn’t outright punish Pasha for their slip-up earlier, and that piqued their curiosity over him. [break][break] [attr="class","patcHAY"]“You’re from the Common Region too? Well, to be more accurate, I spend a lot of my time wandering around, but I’m fairly certain I’m from the Common Region, as well.” Pasha answered with a smile, looking at Tokage after a quick glance at their destination as they spoke and not where they were walking; and changing the topic before there’s any further ‘home’ talk. [attr="class","patcHAY"]“Tokage, what do you do in your free time? Surely you don’t run errands all the time, do you Tokage?” They snickered, [attr="class","patcHAY"]“Not that I’m judging you, Tokage, just making sure there’ll be enough chores for me to do so that I can buy some food before hitting the road again.” [break]

Tokage listened to Pasha’s somewhat random rambling about how they are sure they are from the common region as well but it was said with such an uncertainty that it made Tokage wonder how this person got dressed by themselves. Pasha seemed to change the subject about home fairly quickly though Tokage wasn’t sure if that was on purpose or just cause they were sporadic in nature. To be completely honest this didn’t really phase Tokage, after all he wasn’t here to interoggate his companion while they delivery this package. So Tokage followed along with the new line of questions as Pasha wondered what he did in his free time and if they were going to be able to do enough work to get some food before heading out.
“Don’t worry there is always plenty to do around this town from what I saw on the board.” Tokage assured Pasha, “I really only do these errands as a way to continuously fund my travels back and forth between the Common Region and Umbra that new province that the Golden Dawn Captain set up.” He told Pasha as the neared the keep, Tokage spotted the guard they needed to drop the package off too. “Excuse me we are here to deliver a package for the Lord?” Tokage mentioned as he held up the package, the guard looked at the pair and then took the package inspecting it and checking his records. “Very well I have noted that you have delivered the package unharmed or stained, Thank you and have a good day.” The guard said with a slight smile that spoke of more annoyance of now having to carefully transport the package to its final client.
“Well then shall we head back and get our reward. If we hurry we can get back with plenty of time for you to get some more yul.” Tokage mentioned as he started to jog ahead of Pasha making sure that they kept them in sight. Once they reached the Town hall and reported to the clerk that the task was completed showing the paper given to them by the guard and receiving their reward Tokage would say his goodbyes to Pasha, “Well I hope we run into one another in the future just don’t go tripping into any more counters.”

[attr="class","patchAST"] Pasha was glad for the reassurance that there were enough jobs to go around for the town, altough they honestly didn't care - it really confirmed Tokage's status as a nice person in the blood mage's eyes. The taller mage thoughtfully played along with the other's questioning, all the way to their destination. The 'Umbra' province of the Golden Dawn was new knowledge for Pasha and left them wondering when that happened, and if it was a place they could wander around to themself. [break][break] Their train of thought on the matter was interrupted when they approached a guard at the keep's main gate, and they watched as Tokage handed over the package. The guard confirmed the immaculate status of the delivery, although the guard seemed a little... unenthusiastic to report their successful transport. Oh well. [break][break] Tokage was quick to lead the way back to the town's job-clerk at a jogging pace, encouraging Pasha to do the same to earn their yul. So Pasha followed suit, all the way back to the desk they'd met at, to receive their reward. The kind Tokage bid Pasha farewell, who returned his sentiment. The blood mage was left alone again, sad but excited for the two mages' next meeting. [break][break] [EXIT]
