Aya made her way through the dark fog of the area, her black cloak was draped over her body and horns, it was as trusty as always. In the recent days, Aya felt she had made some big strides for herself, but it still wasn't enough, she still had a long way to go if she wanted to become as strong as she was before, and she yearned for that power, not to protect herself but to also shut up those damn voices screaming in the back of her head. It was enough to nearly drive her made somedays, it was only recently that she was able to start consistently start to gather more strength and ability, she had even unlocked some of her former spells and was no longer stuck with just the 1. It was only a matter of time, but that was the issue for Aya, for her time was passing by much too slowly, and she for one was growing wearily impatient. She wasn't sure how much yelling she'd be able to take within the back of her mind. It was starting to cause headaches now, and some days it even made her dizzy, sometimes she swore she could even hear it in her dreams and that blinding light, she hated it. Just like she hated her magic that didn't seem to do what she wanted it to, she would've given anything for her magic to let her attack in some capacity, to deal attack magic directly out or even better curse somebody, but no matter how hard she tried, even before she was reduced to this miserable state she could never accomplish it. Much to her dismay, it seemed her power was only hell-bent on only being able to help others and she loathed it.
However, she kept pushing forward, after all, she had been on her own for a little while now, and thanks to her "father" she was able to make it this far. Selling her healing talents while staying hidden, pretending to help people while pocketing money from them. Extorting the ill that she had just happened to run across by "fate" when in reality she had placed feelers out into the rumor mill that a healer was coming to town long ago. No, she always planned ahead, she was clever, sly, and careful. She had to be, after all, she had been taught to be such. It had been a while since she was in the orphanage but those days were the worst, and the big floppy hat she had to wear to hide her horns was a hassle. Thankfully her horns didn't look as horrific now as they did then, but even so kept them hidden for now they made her truly look like a demon or one of that dastardly Daemon and she'd rather not get attacked out of fear... Again.
She made her way through the fog-lit streets, simple lanterns littered the streets to help try and keep some form of light within the dark fog. Aya enjoyed this area the most out of the few she had visited, it made it easier to blend into a crowd. It was dog eat, dog, and most people were straight to the point, some not so much, but those were usually thieves and swindlers. Healers were revered here because fights were constantly happening, and blending into the shadow of the night was much easier here. Getting away, staying concealed this area was the best area for her to be in, it provided finance, security, and there was the occasional inn or bars where one could get food, not to mention the markets where practically anything could be sold or found. This area for her right now in her life was heaven-sent, and so she had spared little to no time navigating it on a day-to-day basis, although with all the fog and without a talent for sensory magic doing so had taken longer than she would've liked. She had been here for a couple of months now though and had finally gotten the lay of the land.
Turning down a dark alley, littered with fog and trash, the occasional vermin of both human and animal alike, Aya moved at a brisk and quick pace. Eventually, she'd come upon a door, and on it was a simple square with an O in the middle, that had seemingly been painted on in white. It was an easy marker to make out within the fog once one was close enough, however, this alleyway had many pathways, upon entering this door it only led to more. Upon opening the door one would find steps that led underground 6 feet underground starting at its ceiling, it would open into a pathway that was approximately 5 meters tall. She untucked the small lantern from her waste hidden underneath her cloak, and with the stroke of flint, she lit the oil-based lantern. This of which had caused her a pretty penny so she preferred not to use it when possible, however, her lantern was smaller than average, more easily concealed but it didn't cast out the brightest light. That's where her magic came in, as the single pathway opened to a large room with 5 other individual tunnels branching out of it in a semi-circle. With focus, she conjured an octagonal piece of pink glass that would refract the lantern's small light out into a much brighter pink tinted one using the brightness of her mana as an amplifier in addition to reflecting the lantern light.
With this most "vermin" scattered that were hidden in the tunnels that relayed on not being seen. Aya walked forward down the hallway furthest to the right. Upon walking a mile she'd come across a lantern-lit wooden door. She'd put out her own lantern and stop the usage of her mana, before tucking her lantern away. Upon opening the door, she'd met with brightness, and as she opened the door, she walk forward, only to be treated with music, the smell of alcohol, the smell of food, and a bunch of people of all size, stature, and clothing sitting around drinking at the underground bar. This area was a fairly new addition to the area to Aya's knowledge, she had only learned about it weeks prior, and had made routine visits her as it was where one could find or commission work, as well as get a nice meal, a place to sleep and some booze. Though the latter wasn't something she would be partaking in, she found alcohol disgusting and a waste of coin. She found a seat within the building at the wooden and stone molded bar, the inside of the bar itself reinforced with stone and wood, though it was underground it looked solidly built, and was most likely made with the help and combination of a few different varieties of earth, wood, and metal mages.
