After fending off the Reindeer it appears as that was only the beginning, as some more ferocious creatures have appeared, three days after defeating the Reindeer large chunks of snow, and ice have begun to fly into the city from seemingly nowhere. The Mages from the Church have erected a protective barrier to keep the town safe for the most part from the flying debris, but have made an urgent request of you to go, and stop whoever or whatever is trying to harm the town, and it’s citizens.

"Everything is theoretically impossible, until it is done!"
Following the events with Hino and the reindeer Frankie had been true to his word. He had moved the reindeer to another section of the forest where they would not be any danger nor would they pose any threat to anyone. He then proceeded to experiment with Restraining magic, slowly draining the excess mana from them. He would periodically release them for study, attempting to determine if their aggressive nature was part of whatever had changed them, if their greater stores of mana was a forced change or a natural evolution, and if physical changes with their bodies would revert once their mana depleted to average levels. In the end his research proved to be rather successful. The reindeer did in fact once more become the standard reindeer the region was more familiar with once their mana had been depleted to safe levels. Even after a day of study their mana never spiked again either, making it clear to Frankie that whatever had changed them involved some sort of outside influence. He had been tempted to dissect one while they were still within the thrall of whatever had changed it, but had opted for a softer approach this one time. He had promised to check back in on Hino in a few days and given how she had reacted to violence he didn't think she would handle it well if he admitted to killing any of them after the fact. Since he refused to lie whenever possible it meant he would have to be good this time.
Assured that the reindeer were fine now Frankie had spent another day searching through the forest, attempting to find out if there was something unnatural about the area that had forced the change. However, he had no talent in Sensory magic nor any other way to attune his senses and gained little information for his troubles. If something was amiss in the forest he never stumbled upon it during his time out there. An unfortunate dead end for the mad mage. He swore that with the next breakthrough with his golems he would be sure to work on mastering a type that would excel in Sensory. A scout he could use not only to find threats, but that would be perfect in locating any signs of mana that might exist in an area. In the end he had to conclude that at least as far as he could find what had occurred to the reindeer had not been geographical in nature. He would then have to presume that their change might have been catalyzed by a third party. A scientist like himself using them as test subjects and then simply releasing them when they were done? Or someone with more mischievous purposes who had purposely altered them knowing they would come into conflict with the local townsfolk and create problems? He would need further data before he would be willing to claim anything for certain.
And just like that three days had passed! True to his word Frankie had been packing his things and ready to set out for Nairn once more when he got the reports of the town being under some sort of siege. Feeling already particularly invested in the wellbeing of the town he wasted no time summoning one of his eagles and taking off towards the place. Even from a distance he could just make out the various barriers that had been constructed by Church mages to provide some sort of protection from the ongoing assault. Walls and domes made from earth, water, and just about any element that could serve was used to interpose against whatever was attacking the citizens. It wasn't until Frankie got much closer though that he realized the town was being pelted by hail. Ice and snow were being launched into the town like makeshift siege weaponry. As Frankie attempted to get closer to get a look at what might be the cause for the attack he was forced into evasive maneuvers as he found himself targeted. In the end he couldn't see who were the culprits, but he did catch a glimpse of a fort made of snow that might have been serving as a base of sorts. That might be their best bet to stopping this.
Eventually, Frankie managed to land safely into town. There was a close call where some of the town watch almost targeted him as well, thinking he might be the enemy, but eventually they realized he was reinforcements. No sooner had he landed that he asked around until he was pointed to a building that was being used as a triage center. He figured any leadership would be there tending to the wounded and at the same time given her Healing magic he guessed that Hino might also be there lending a hand. As far as he figured it was a fifty/fifty shot, she was also prolific in Defensive Creation and could just as easily be defending the town. He had flown in too quickly, but he might have even seen some impressive magic that had looked like Flower petals or something else of the sort. Maybe that had been her? In any case he headed to the triage center hoping he would find both Hino or someone else that could fill him in. Even as he made his way towards the building he started shouting, having no desire to prolong the conflict, "Hino?! Are you here?! It's Franklin Stein... Uhm.. Lord Frankie!" Saying the title put a bad taste in his mouth, but he figured she might respond to that more easily. Given her abilities he trusted she'd be able to fill him on what was going on and with her help they might get the town out of this mess.

During the 3 days since Frankie studied and restored the reindeer. He heard the news of the attack and rushed back to Nairn, narrowly avoiding getting hit by ice and snow. Spotted a snow fort and once in town rushed to the medical area in hopes of finding Hino so they could discuss and maybe stop this.

[attr="class","tamaflowersscroll"] It had been a few days since the run-in with the mutated reindeer, she had spent it back at the farm of the elderly couple who had taken her in and now saw her as a grandchild. They were still unwell but with the medicine now paid for they were on the road to recovery. This made her happy as she couldn't bear the thought of such kind people being taken from the world so soon, it was true they were well into their lives but they still moved around as if they were in their earlier years. She guessed that was a side effect of having a well-lived life and hoped when she got to their age she would be as blessed. She was thinking of other ways that she could help their income during the winter months as it seemed as if those would be the times they'd struggle. [break][break] It would have to wait for another time as she had gotten ready to make another journey to Nairn, helping the harlequin looking Green Mantis mage would help her look after the elderly couple while they recovered. The floral mage still didn't want to be away from them but she knew this was for the best and for now the apothecary was on retainer to look after them when she wasn't there. That morning she made soups, stews and bread as she made the family breakfast and helped them eat while giving them their medicines. She informed them she would be gone for a few days but she had made them meals and bread while she was gone and that they would have care until she returned. They were thankful for the aid but they believed they were becoming a burden to her, she assured them this wasn't the case and she was willingly doing it. [break][break] Bundling up after breakfast she took the long walk from the farm to the town of Nairn, as she got closer she realized it was getting far colder, in fact, large hailstones were falling and though she hadn't been hit by one she was sure that if she did it may make her own condition worse. Due to this she picked up her pace and ran the rest of the way shivering as the cold wind nipped at her skin, it only got worse as she got closer to the town as it was almost impossible for her to see too far in front of her thanks to the current weather. She noticed the shield and called out, the first few times she wasn't heard but she called out one more time and it seemed like it had been enough and was helped into the town. [break][break] In the protection of the barrier held by the church, the guard was surprised to see who it was that had requested aid to enter and requested that she follow them to the infirmary to help with those who had been hurt. She was happy to oblige but asked if she could have something warm to drink to fight off the bitterness of the cold. He nodded and left her to deal with the injured with the others inside the tents and went to get her a drink. She had just started her work while listening to the others nearby to find out information about what had been happening only to hear an abbreviation of her name being called by a familiar voice followed by the person's name and what she tended to call him. Standing she moved to the entrance of the tent and smiled [break][break] "Hello Lord Frankie, how are you? Are you in the need of first aid due to the snowstorm and hail?" she inquired, from what she could see he looked perfectly fine but that didn't mean anything. "Do you know anything about this? From what the other aids are saying this started in the early hours this morning and has only gotten worse, they don't know what is causing it, but..." she bit her lip her eyes closing for a moment as if she was hesitant to speak her words "I think it may be the same source as what affected those poor reindeer." she whispered as if she didn't want others in the area to hear, she honestly didn't because she didn't want to add anything into the panic they were already currently experiencing "From what I heard something similar happened last year but the cause isn't known to them, perhaps... perhaps we can put a true end to it." she said her voice almost pleading for him to agree to help to do this task, she didn't want anyone to live in fear during a season that was meant to be for happiness and joy.

Kikka is a town known to be the defensive foot-hold for the Clover Kingdom, it is the town that sits in the grey area of what could be considered the noble region and the common region. It is due to this that there is a diverse range of people and backgrounds that called this place home. [break][break] A young fire mage found himself getting into trouble when he decided to steal some vegetables from a garden of jewellers. The mother of the family was the one that caught him and even told the boy and his mother that they just needed to ask due to them having more than enough. It was the beginning of a new bond between the family and the fire mage. [break][break] Over time the boy grew and where he was wanting to learn the next flashy fire move from the former purple orca. She would tell him that he needed to learn how to walk before he tried to run or those he cared about would get burned by those same flames that treasured so much. Of course, being young he didn't understand what she was getting at. [break][break] The woman's husband attempted to teach the street smart and somewhat rough male his craft. He, of course, got bored real quickly because crafting jewellery was a slow process that often was very detail orientated. Still, the man tried. On the day the fire mage was scheduled to leave Kikka for the exams the man called the young mage into his workshop. [break][break] He was just finishing up a double ring set and told him to put every wish and promise he could into a single flame and release it onto the ring. Somewhat sceptical the fire mage did what he was asked and thought it was for some sort of trinket for the woman that had helped him grow. The man placed the ring into a box and handed it to the budding mage. [break][break] "Valo, we see you as our son and we are proud to see the man you've grown into. You've helped create something that is unique and special, keep it with you and give it to someone that you believe deserves what you put into it." [break][break] The now young man gave bravado with his normal attitude but took the ring. He held onto it for three years until something terrible happened. The family that he had loved so much was taken from him. The one that had seen him at his most vulnerable and had helped him through the grief was a young woman. A woman who themselves couldn't fight due to their beliefs. [break][break] He remembered the ring from all those years ago and offered it to her, telling her if she was ever in danger just to call him and he'd come running.

From the ring, a blue flame seems to emerge and move around the wearer giving the feeling of warmth and being hugged. The flames eventually dissipate and leave the person being healed with almost metallic blue flaming intertwining symbols going around their body. The flames are intricate and delicate so they could easily be mistaken as tasteful jewellery. Speaking the name of another while twisting the ring will give them the benefits of the healing. With the use of the ammo rules, additional people can be healed per trigger. This ability heals for junior rank damage, this ability will also actively attempt to cleanse those being healed by it from any debuffs, poisons, hexes, curses, venoms as per the clashing rules.

From the ring springs, a book made with a blue flame cover but upon opening it the flames are an orangy-red as normal. Speaking the name of the person that the wielder wants to speak from creates their name at the front of the book in orangy-red flames. When a connection is made an identical book is created in front of that person with the casters name so they know who is contacting them. As those communicating speak the pages start to fill in with blue flaming text as if being written, this is so facts can be looked over at a later point while the spell is active. As this is only junior currently only one person may be contacted at a time. If used for reinforcements the person being asked must wait 2 rounds after the initial contact has been made before they can enter, as this ability grows stronger it will allow for contacting people in other areas, if contacting people in other areas and requesting aid they must wait 4 rounds after the initial contact has been made before they can enter.

[attr="class","frankiescroll"] Franklin had been relieved to see that Hinota had been in town and was well enough. He had calculated a greater possibility of her being in town, but given that she had already left one home to temporarily stay in another there was always a small chance that she had returned to the home of her fiancé or left for another altogether. With her here though the probability of success had gone up considerably. "I am fine, though I appreciate your concern. There was some calculated risk on my flight in, but I was able to enter the city without sustaining any injuries." Frankie listened as Hinota spoke and realized that she and the rest of the denizens of the city must not have realized what was generating the weather or where the attack was coming from. Had they learned of the real threat behind it all they would have likely changed their defenses or possibly even mounted a counterattack.
He did commend Hinota for her astute observation, even without seeing what Frankie had seen she had already formulated a hypothesis that was close to the truth. "I cannot speak for the events that transpired last year, though it is always possible that we are dealing with a returned antagonist. Your theory is correct though." At this point Frankie too looked side to side before ushering Hinota a small ways away from any who could overhear. "On my approach in I saw some defense placements not far from the city. I could not see who was manning them, but it was clear that someone was using them to create and launch the hail and snow towards the city. I was ultimately noticed and attacked in kind and was forced to retreat. However, it is my speculation that if we were to destroy the fortification and disperse or arrest whatever force lies inside then the hail and turbulent weather here will end." Frankie was hesitant to continue, but Hinota had been helpful previously and had shown a desire to do so. "You're defensive magic is far superior to my own. The odds of success increase dramatically if you were to provide support. With your magic protecting us we can safely approach and dismantle their fort structure." Frankie recalled that the last time they were forced to violence Hinota had an adverse psychological reaction to it. It was possible he would be putting her in a similar situation with his request. However, the people would eventually be buried if they did nothing and there were citizens who would likely be hurt by the artillery ice and snow. The numbers did not lie and Frankie always respected statistics.
Recognizing that time was of the essence he made his way out of the building, hoping that Hinota would provide a favorable answer. Once out the door he spoke the activation phrase for a spell she had seen just three days previously. "Earthen Raptor!" At his call Carbon Matter swirled before, mimicking snow powder caught in a breeze, that Carbon would merge together forming the solid object of four large eagles. Just as he had done shortly after their first meeting Frankie mounted the one eagle and made a gesture to another. "I know you have your item that allows you to fly, but I have read that it is courtesy to always offer just in case." Frankie had understood from his readings that courtesy was something expected when dealing with others and a lack of it could create social conflict that could terminate a working relationship. As the pair had already worked together once more and he was attempting to persuade her to work together again it seemed appropriate to use such social niceties in an effort to cement that relationship. In all honesty he was hoping she would decline and use her item once more. He had been caught off guard by its application the first time and had not had a chance to properly observe and study it previously. Now that he was aware of the item he was hoping to see it used again where he could figure out how it worked. Frankie truly believed that the next step for civilization wasn't to continue honing their own personal magic, but rather to figure out a way to spread wide magical items and inventions as a way to uplift the rest of society. To capture some of what ancient races had managed to do. So, learning the nature and intricacies of every magic item he came across was a passion of his.
Having given her the option and not being able to waste much time Frankie hopped on his own mount and prepared to take off. "I can take you where I saw the fort and from there we can figure out what to do next. Again, as a warning they did not seem to be peaceful and will likely attack us on sight. Given their intentions with the city the probability of a peaceful termination to this conflict seems unlikely." Frankie would then take off on his eagle and head towards the direction he had previously seen the snow fort. Had Frankie succeeded in convincing her then hopefully Hinota would be right behind him and the pair could use her defensive magic to figure out exactly who was attacking the city and perhaps why. Regardless of their reasons it needed to be put to a stop.
Combat Summary
[attr="class","frankiescroll2"]
Notes Frankie explains the situation to Hinota and asks for her assistance, though he is wary she will have another panic attack. He will offer a ride, though hoping to see her use her magic, and then will fly towards where he saw the fort. Hinota is welcome to autopilot Frankie to the fort and begin RP dealing with the Yetis and the Fort.
