Ryoshi Yawned as he woke in his room at the local in, it was early morning in the town of Nairn and the aura mage was still hot on the trail of his wayward Sister though tracking her had been difficult.”you would think for a brainless little doll she would be far easier to find but then again she does excel in…other areas” he muttered to himself his tone holding the faintest hint of bitterness in it as he rose and stretched a bit to loosen his muscles up and as he finished he slipped on his boots and grabbed his white coat from the wall before sliding it on and putting his twin swords on his back in their usual spot, securing his grimoire to his back hidden in sight by his long coat the mage headed out of his temporary room and walked out tossing a small bag of yul on the desk of the inn keeper to cover the expenses. Ryoshi walked out into the streets and towards the town square.
He looked around as he paid for a pastery and started to eat it while he glanced up at the large church near the end of the square and he said nothing but he had a look of skepticism on his face as he ate, ‘honestly I cant understand the followers of this faith praying to a god that does next to nothing for them and offer up prayers the belief in something like that is hard to understand honestly it would be better to put that faith and devotion into something far more useful like towards a physical person’ he mused to himself inside his head as he gain a small smile on his face that internally turned sinished. Perhaps if he was to turn the faith of such church goers towards his mindset and his vision then it might find a bit of use instead of a waste of a building. “such a plan needs some time and a bit more plotting but it could bare rather useful fruit hmm” he muttered to himself so low that most wouldn’t even catch it,

It had been quite the rare occurrence when Thaddeus had actually managed to find himself back within his stationed area of Nairn. As of late, he had been spending so much time outside of Nairn that it had begun to feel a bit lonely. He had come to respect many of the citizens of Nairn and couldn't help but miss them when he was out and about on matters of the Church. As unfortunate as it is though, this was just kind of how these things happened to be from time to time. For now he had only been at the rank of a Deacon but once he had obtained the rank of Priest? When he had ever managed to get to that point, he would have been charge of the entirety of this massive church within Nairn. The building, the services, and the orphanage that had all been tied up into it would come into his hands upon reaching such a rank and honestly, the very idea had become quite appealing to the Spring Deacon.
Having finally managed to find himself with some time to assist those in the matters of the Church, within the town of Nairn, Thaddeus could currently be found just outside of the building. This was the first time that he had been able to spend some time with Drusilia since they had run through classes together in the past. At the moment, the pair had been laughing about something pertaining to a rumor that was spreading about the church. Apparently there had been a few growing numbers within the church as of late and Thaddeus was going to have to head on out and ensure that everything was okay with these new members of the church. Given that he had been a far lower rank than most though, the pair couldn't help but laugh at the fact that he had been asked to go out on yet another mission. It was almost starting to feel as though they should just make him a priest, honestly. With all of the dedicated work that he had been performing for the church as of late, it was beginning to feel as though he had deserved the position. Drusilia certainly had believed as much. Than again, she had been completely and utterly falling for the Spring Deacon so this much shouldn't be seen as much of a surprise.

Ryoshi glanced around the area as he mulled over his idea that he had, sure the idea of corrupting such an organization was an intriguing venture but the main issue that he found himself saddled with was that he knew very little about the church or its operations. The Aura mage knew that it was a religious group and they prayed to a deity or spirit that to the assassin didnt seem to keen on answering them back but that was the extent of his knowledge. With that it mind the only thing the white haired man could do was ask around and see what he could learn from some of the members of the church but he would have to be subtle since after that slip up with the young woman in Kiten he knew that even ones choice of words could have great repercussions.'now who to ask around here honestly I'd rather not go into the church directly who knows if I might burst into flames' he thought to himself with a small chuckle at the end
just when the rogue was intent on resigning himself to having to step inside and deal with getting struck by a bolt of lightning for angering whatever god dwelled there the mage spotted something that might have spared him that fate, it seemed to be a member of the church resting on a bench nearby which was a perfect chance for him to gain some information so Ryoshi stood up after a moment and dusted himself off before he would approach the man making sure he appeared as a normal inquisitive citizen. Once he was in ear shot he would speak.” Excuse me father I was hoping I could borrow a moment of your time I'm not from around this region and I was hoping to learn a bit about the church if thats alright” he asked, his tone was kind and his face showed curiosity nothing that would hint at the more sinister thought going thru the beast aura users mind at current.

As the Spring Deacon had continued to laugh about how often he had been getting sent off to handle things for the church, it would seem as though a newcomer to the town had managed to come upon him and his companion. Although the town had been quite large in and of itself, Thaddeus had prided himself on doing his best to remember every face that had passed through the area. If he could remember the names and faces of those that resided within the town than he could have a much easier time convincing the already heavily religious town members to join the church in some regard. Of course he hadn't exactly been looking to bring anyone into the fold as a Deacon or the likes. No, he was more interested in gaining followers for the spirits. The fact that a newcomer was coming about him in this moment was likely a sign of good luck.
It was only when Thaddeus had found himself turning about to face the voice of the newcomer that he had come to realize just how large the individual had been. From what he could see, this man had been a dwarf much like himself! Of course this individual hadn't quite stood as short as both the Spring Deacon and his cousin Klara. No, it was more than likely that this man had been standing at about the height that his cousins Lustian and Dante had stood at. Honestly, it was a surprise for the Spring Deacon to have encountered another dwarf within the town of Nairn. This was the first time that such a thing had occurred and he wasn't quite sure how to react to it. Not because of the fact that the man had been a dwarf in an of himself but because his appearance had been so vastly different from that of Thaddeus and the rest of the Wilhelm family. This wasn't exactly something that should have surprised him though, considering the fact that his family in particular had really just spent an obscene amount of time high up on the mountains.
His gaze repeatedly flowing up and down along the dwarves body, Thaddeus would begin to nod to himself. "Why of course, good sir. I am always willing to speak on the matters of the Church of Clover. Given that you are new to the region than I suppose that there are a few things that I should start off by explaining. As you must know, we are currently within the town of Nairn. It is here that a major church of the Hoard of Gnome resides. Although it may not seem like it, there are many church members that tend to travel through here." Taking a moment to gesture back towards the massive church that had stood behind him, Thaddeus would continue on. "So as to not confuse you, I suppose that I should explain to you who the Hoard of Gnome is. You see, the Church of Clover holds four major factions. One for each of the four main spirits that we worship. We have the Spears of Salamander whom are our main combatant force. Among the four factions of the church, it is they that are considered to be the closest thing to a military branch. Almost like the Magic Knights, in a sense. Whenever it is that the Spears of Salamander are called upon, the members of this group shall be deployed to handle any potential cults, undead or potential demonic activity that is at work."
Although Thaddeus hadn't been a member of the Spears of Salamander, he did have a spear that he was intending to use to represent this faction when he was out on the field. This carbon spear had currently been slung over the Spring Deacons shoulder at the moment but he had begun to gesture towards it with his thumb so as to emphasize bits of what he was saying. After all of the work that Thaddeus had put in on cutting down cults and the likes as of late, it honestly had fit the aesthetic anyways. "I myself actually used to be a member of the Spears of Salamander in the past." In this moment, it had been Thaddeus' beautiful elven companion that had been speaking. "We are quite the fearsome faction to many a cult and rogue alike. Those that dare to stand in the way of the church..." Before Drusilia could continue on with whatever she was about to infer, Thaddeus would place a single hand upon her shoulder to stop her. The feeling of this particular dwarves hand upon her shoulder had immediately left the Priestess would immediately turn about. Her cheeks had been tinged red and she hadn't wished for so many of the public eye to have caught wind of her blatant feelings for the Spring Deacon. "Remember where it is that we are, Drusilia."
Knowing that he was going to have to continue on at this point, Thaddeus would move onto the next two factions in mind. "Next we have the Emissariate of Sylph and the Garden of Undine. Those that are within the Emissariate of Sylph act as the diplomatic council, so to speak. These emissaries are responsible for upholding the good relations between the Clover Kingdom and the other kingdoms. Certainly not an easy feat to uphold and yet one that we happen to have an entire role for. As for the Garden of Undine? Well those are our dedicated healers. Any ailment that can be healed will be healed by an attendant of the Garden. There are of course various churches in which the Garden of Undine are responsible for and it is within these churches that we have our healing gardens. These attendants are quite popular with the Magic Knights and will often be requested for their assistance on various missions or dungeon explorations. Naturally, if one were to ever try and threaten these gardens, it is likely that the Magic Knights and perhaps even some of the Spears of Salamander would come after them."
Taking a moment to try and catch his breath, the Spring Deacon would turn his attention towards Drusilia. He was wondering what it was that she was doing with her back turned to the man that had come to ask them a few questions. It was a bit of a rude reaction to things in Thaddeus' mind but that was really only due to the fact that he hadn't quite understood what it was that she was doing. Oblivious to the ways of relationships, Thaddeus could never have understood the fact that Drusilia was head over heals for him. "Anyways, I suppose that we should probably try and focus on the remaining faction now. That faction being my own of course." Before he would throw himself into the remaining dredges of information for the man, Thaddeus would cease his speaking and wait to see if there is anything that the dwarf had to say in response to everything that had been said to him thus far. "Ah. I was so excited about everything that I forgot to introduce myself to you... My name is Thaddeus Wilhelm and I am a Vault-Keeper of the Hoard of Gnome." The elven priestess would than follow suit and introduce herself, turning about to face the dwarf in that same moment. "And I am Drusilia Ilpphelkiir; former Priestess of the Spears of Salamander but current Priestess of the Hoard of Gnome."

Ryoshi saw the mans gaze go up and down him a few times but his expression gave nothing away as he listened intently to the deacons explanation of the the surrounding town due to the hunters lie of not knowing the area, while Ryoshi did have a general knowledge for what he was potentially plotting he needed to learn a bit more if that meant playing the oblivious tourist then he could easily do so.”I see I had heard a bit about the town at least that it as famous for such a grand church I imagine the mass on sundays is a sight to behold?” he questioned a small playful smile at his small joke, it would seem though that Thaddeus would keep going on as he explained that while the church here was great it was only one part of four different factions each one belonging to one of the four main elemental spirits that were worshiped throughout clover. It made a great deal of sense given that the four elements were staples in the creation of all things but the rogue wondered if that was really enough to warrant such worship.
Ryoshi wouldn't get to ponder much as the man explained further about each of the branches starting with Salamander of fire which were described as the spears of the church that dealt with threats be it cults deamons or dark forces.”I see and what are the churchs views on those that posses say wraith magic?” he asked his curiosity peaked by the mention of undead before someone beside Thaddeus spoke mentioning that they used to be a member of said spears and that they were rather fearsome to any cult or rogue that threatened the church.”hmm seems the choir kids arnt so helpless as expected still everyones got a weakness even those of faith' Ryoshi thought to himself sinisterly as he eyes had gone to the woman as she had spoke which was to be expected but he made sure not to look to closely or to intently so as not to seem suspicious, however the aura mages aqua eyes still took in much with his senses being far higher then a normal persons due to his unique magic.
“its good to know that the church has such defenders at the ready, the magic knights may be the defenders of the kingdom from what I have heard but I imagine they cannot be everywhere” he commented knowing that it was the honest truth since despite being powerful and rather spread out the knights were not able to be in all places at once, its that very fact that had lead to rogues starting to gain momentum and move in the shadows or some who were wise enough like himself and others to move in broad daylight and gain not even a second glance, as Thaddeus explained more about the other branches such as the Sylph branch being better for diplomatic affairs and the like while the Undine branch focused more on healers then anything else and were rather popular with the magic knights.”I see such specialzations are rather useful considering everyone needs healing every now and then and the relations with the other nations can be iffy at best depending on said nation” the aura mage pondered knowing that the borders of diamond and spade were rather dangerous to anyone.
Of course the man was actually from near the border anyway and he knew such dangers and even still he learned from both sides of the country many useful things but only he would ever know them unless he had the inclination to reveal such things.Ryoshi however didnt see the knowledge ever seeing the light of day unless it was to gain benefit for himself. However before he could learn anymore it seemed the two church members before him decided to introduce themselves to him and revealed their names to be Thaddeus the vault keeper and Drusilia a former spear of salamander, Ryoshi bowed a little bit at their introduction before speaking himself.”a pleasure to meet you both Im Ryuuma Satsugai I live near the borders of the country and tend to work as a hunter when im outside of where my family lives” he said as an introduction his tone still polite and friendly as he looked at the two before going on.”you covered the former three elements but by chance what does the church of Gnome do I would venture a guess that while salamander is the tip of the sword perhaps gnome would be the shield to defend?” he asked offering a guess but with no proof just a mere speculation.

As far as this particular Spring Deacon had been concerned, the Church didn't exactly hold much of a stance on Wraith Magic specifically. Of course he could understand where it is that the Church would come from in regards to not choosing to really tolerate that kind of magic. In and of itself, this magic was essentially the kind that was said to corrupt individuals and allowed for one to essentially toy with the bodies and spirits of the deceased... Truly a vile magic to some. As for how Thaddeus had felt about it though? Honestly, he didn't really have much of an opinion on it. "Hm.. How to answer this question.." While Thaddeus had been trying to think over exactly how to phrase what he was considering saying, Drusilia had decided to jump on into the conversation and speak on behalf of her pupil. Of course her words were going to be quite biased, having been a former Spear of Salamander. "All in all, Hex Magic is rather frowned upon within the Church. And for good reason, I'd say. Considering the fact that Wraith Magic is even worse than that, I'll say that it depends on who you encounter. Expect for those with said magics to be against the will of the Church though."
Not quite sure how to react to what it was that his mentor had just said, the Spring Deacon would anxiously scratch at the back of his head. "Well, yes and no. While the Church has quite a bit of complex when it comes to Hex Magic and any sort of subsidiary magics that might surround themselves in a similar stigma, we do still accept those that use its power. This is more prevalent in children that join the church whilst knowing such magics of course but there are a few rules that those children must follow if they wish to join the Church. Rules such as ensuring that they aren't using this Hex Magic of theirs on fellow Church members. Breaking such rules tends to result in them being expelled from the Church, at best. Given the way that I am sure this Wraith Magic works, I suppose that the same rules may or may not apply. Honestly, it would likely be entirely dependent on the faction in which you join and the judgement that the Bishop or Cardinal of your respective faction brings."
The fact that this man had posed such a rather particular question about Wraith Magic, one could only assume that he had happened to have such magics. There was no confirmation as to whether or not this had been the case but Thaddeus had his suspicions. Why else would the man bring it up? Either way, the Spring Deacon would ultimately go on to scratch at the back of his head whilst wondering about what to say. It was clear that the subjects of the Church were rather easy for the Spring Deacon to discuss but subjects outside of that? Well it would depend entirely on whom he had been speaking with and what it was that they had been speaking about. The elven priestess on the other hand couldn't remove her gaze from the man that had been standing before her. In her eyes, there was something off about the questions that the man had been asking her. She had honestly wished to further understand the reasoning behind such questions but ultimately knew that Thaddeus would try and stop her if she had done anything that he would consider a rather hasty act. "Yes, it is true that our forces can't be everywhere at once. Thankfully we have the Magic Knights for that. Never doubt the tenacity of our forces though.. If trouble comes knocking on our doorstep, several well equipped squads will manage to act as the solution."
Once it would come around to the point in which this Ryuuma fella would go on to introduce himself, Thaddeus would simply nod in response. "It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Ryuuma. If you ever end up wishing to learn more about the Church, the Four Main Spirits, or perhaps even to simply discuss joining up with the Church, just let me know. More often than not, you can find me around this particular area. If not, I am likely away on a mission and should be back in a few days time." Pulling his hand away from the back of his head so that he could no longer continue to scratch at it, Thaddeus would nod once more. "Yes, I suppose that that is the most applicable sense of what the Hoard of Gnome does. We tend to act as a shield that protects the denizens of the Clover Kingdom from any dark powers that may be. Aside from dealing solely with the cults though, much like the Spears of Salamander, we tend to delve into protecting the world from the daemonic threat."

Ryoshi listened intently as Thaddeus seemed a bit stuck on how to answer the question the aura mage had posed on how the church handled such macabre magics, however before he could get a solid answer out his companion Drusilia spoke up again and her words were a bit biased due to being a former spear of the church and she explained that while Hex magic was frowned upon wraith magic would be considered even worse and many who had said magic was against the will of the church. The Deacon would speak up however and explain that it was more complex then that and that they didnt have anything against it so long as it was used for good and not on any of their fellow church members but it did come down to the bishop or cardinal of said faction,”I see I thought it wise to ask since I know of a few people that have such a magic and the usual conditions for using such power its good to know that church is accepting yet has such rules just in case” he said after Thaddues had finished speaking.
The aura mage didnt even need to move his eyes to know that the deacons companion had her gaze on him and was more focused then usual he could almost sense it, at first he thought that perhaps he had tipped his hand but then he remembered that his question while odd was on the surface an innocent one out of curiosity and not malice and the rogue had confidence that the former spear wouldn't be able to see thru him, when she explained that while it was true that the churchs forces were not the same as the magic knights they were just as tenacious and could be ready to act when needed.”thats good to know though I must admit im curious as to what your training regiment for the spears of salamander look like from how you describe the churches forces it must be intense to say the least” he surmised as he seemed to look like he was deep in thought as he said it.
As Thaddeus would explain that if he wanted to know more about joining the church the church itself or even the elemental spirits he could always visit as more often the not he was always in the area and if not would be back in a few days time at the least, at that the aura mage nodded.”thank you thats good to know I tend to travel often so I might be able to look into the other churches as well before figuring out if the church is right for me” he said before hearing that he was right on the money when it came to what the gnome branch did and it was in dealing with defending against cults and demonic threats.” I see im sure you have had much to deal with given what happened with Kikka and the other towns ontop of the crisis I have heard has been plaguing the land lately?” he questioned since the first three daemon attacks were now common knowledge even if the nitty gritty details were not know to most,Ryoshi knew some of the dirty secrets of the incidents but that was due to his inflitration of the archives which had put him in dangerous proximity to a griffen much to his Chagrin.
