It had been a little over a month since she and her twin sister had gained their grimoires and started their families rite of passage into adulthood. This meant that they would be sent to the outskirts of one of the three kingdoms and isolated from their family for an entire year before coming back and attempting to find their bonded weapon in a large area filled with all kinds of weapons within a set time limit. In the past this had been a simple task in the past and allowed the family to also show that they were just as valuable to the kingdom as 'normal' people were. Of course, outsiders of the family didn't know of their adulthood test but because the family was different and their magic on the more macabe side they were often shunned by those that saw themselves as 'normal'.
Twins were an extremely rare occurance within the Delothosin family but when it came to this rite of passage things went as smoothly as they always had been. That was until she and her twin. They were oddballs even in a family of structured oddballs. They were opposite genders it was true but as they grew they looked identical in apperance, she had even started to wear dresses like her sister, when she was told to start dressing like a boy she did but then so did her twin. In the end their parent realized they couldn't win and allowed them to dress how they pleased and so they had become the parent to two girls. Not only had they been born with one ruby and one indigo eye but they were the coloring were on the exact same eye for both. It was like one was meant to be born as an heir to the family but refused to ascend above their twin thus leaving them behind.
Then when they showed their magic it was the exact same element with the exact same oddity where they differed was how the magic decided to form; One was offensive while the other was defensive out side of that there was no way to really tell them apart bar the faintest difference in their primary color they wore. During their entire childhood they spent very little time apart and so almost seemed codependant on the other but this wasn't true, they just didn't like being without the other. She believed that Jun and herself would be asked together where they would like to do their training and so sent to the same outskirts but he soon found out this wasn't the case. She was asked separately and when she asked where her sister would be going he was told that this was her own decision and not to worry about her counterpart.
She refused to decide anything or go anywhere. She flat out told her family elders that he would remain forever a child if it meant she didn't have to be separated from her twin. They threw a fuss over looking different and sleeping in seperate beds let alone separate rooms so she didn't understand why they believed that something like this would be any different. Every day over the month she was asked and she gave the exact same comments. During that time the families elder council came together to decide what to do about the situation and decide the fate of the unwavering twins. It came down to the decision to the head of the elder council as they couldn't come to a concensus. Elenor had decided that they could do their trial together, however, it would have its own drawbacks.
First of all, they wouldn't be allowed their lifeline to the family as was usually allowed in case of emergencies as there would be two of them. The second was more of a punishment for being difficult and going against the families traditions. They were not allowed to request where they would like their training to take place, they were told were they would be going. They were to be sent to the Spade kingdom outskirts to do their training. This was a harsh punishment for any member of the family, most not willing to go near spade for their adulthood rite or at all if possible. This was because their family had originated within the Spade Kingdom and when they uncovered a plot that was meant to end them they left before it could take place and swore their loyalty to Clover thus branding them traitors in Spade.
She wasn't at all bothered by either condition and accepted it as they would be together and that was enough for her that was enough. On the accepted day and time Elenor had wished them the greatest success in proving themselves, to be safe with the trials ahead and to return to them in one year before opening the spatial portal to a random location on the border she took her sisters hand and nodded walking through. As soon as she exited the other side she noticed that her family ring went dormant. There truly was no way for them to return home for now but they could do anything so longs they were together. She had do admit the scene in front of her was daunting "Yui... can we really do this? I mean... you heard what they said would happen if they caught us." she would ask her twin.

Life is a very strange thing for everyone but being pair of a set of twins on top of being part of the mysterious and most secretive family probably unknown to most of the world. It was a strange and hard life indeed but one that June took on with her heart and soul. Her twin was her whole world. They refused and were almost never separated unless someone had a death wish for their ears. While Rune and her both seemed girls the truth was one of them was not a born girl but while some found that an odd thing that is looked down upon. She didn't care. If her twin had to wear male clothing and act like a male then she too would look and act just as her twin. They were one in ways no one could ever truly understand and neither was going to allow anyone into their special world or between them.
The month after becoming fifteen was a living hell of worry and annoyance. She was separated from her beloved twin. Sure they both were identical, down to even the type of magic, the only real way to them apart was how they used their magic. And while traditions spoke of them being asked where they would like to go. She had thought her twin would be there as well and they would answer as a duo, to continue being together. However traditions sucked so bad for the set of twins. For a month straight June refused to go anywhere or do anything without her twin. She asked the same questions and gave the same comments each and every day. She wasn't going to waiver from her beliefs as They weren't hurting anyone being the same in every way. In her mind if anything, the two together being the way they are made sense. They were twins. They shared the same thoughts and knew what the other was doing and wanted without much thought. Towards the end of the separation The judgement was made for them.
First they would be allowed to due this training together. That was a no brainer, they would forever stay childern if it meant being together. Secondly, It was decided that not only were they to train on the bored of the Spade kingdom but that they would be cut off from the family and place they knew. They were on their own for an entire year. While many would see this as a punishment. June wasn't going to allow it to be for the one simple reason. She had her sister, She was all the company she could ever wanted. The fact they were together being able to do this training together was enough to allow her to face whatever was coming their way.
June simply nodded before feeling her twin take ahold of her hand going into the portal without further prompt. She winced at the change of lighting and temperature quickly adjusting before following her twin's gaze to her own ring watching it fall dormant. She looked back towards her twin with a smile before looking around "Nui, We got this. If we haven't fought tooth and nail to be together then would we be able to handle doing this alone. If we have each other and that is all we have then so be it. We have an entire kingdom to explore and grow stronger together." She spoke with encouragement to ease her twin's worry. She would be lying if it wasn't plaguing her mind as well, but they choose to do this together and this was the outcome they accepted without argument.
She scratched her chin in nervous thought " We will be fine. our magic isn't exactly the oddest around surely even here and not being connected to our family and how we act. What is the worst that can happen. There is nothing to worry about because I have you and you have me. We are an unstoppable team and everyone is to beware of us and our might together." She said attempting to ease the tension as she smiled shaking her head "Plus, They can't catch us cause we aren't anything but two childern on an year long adventure of growth and seeking all this world has for us! We get to be who we want to be and do what we want to do without anyone telling us otherwise." She spoke with excitement taking both of her twin's hands "We got this Nui, I have faith in our studies and our strengths." She added before looking around "Now, Where exactly are we? We are suppose to stay around the border...Bbbbbuuuuutttt how do we know where the border actually is if we have no clue where to go?" She asked looking around confused before looking back at her twin in curiosity " I say we go in some direction and see where that gets us." She added with a smile. Wc: 830

Rune was still concerned about if this was the correct course of action, she already knew that together there was nothing that they couldn't accomplish. It didn't mean that this was any less terrifying for either of them. Her twin was attempting to be strong for both of them, but she could tell without words that even she was scared. Their closeness was like none other, they didn't need words to know what the other was feeling, it was just a natural bond between them that they couldn't explain, then again, even if they could explain it, it was doubtful that they would. It would mean allowing others into their own secret world and it was something they had no intention of doing even if they were to be forced. This was something that was only meant for them and that was how they liked it and would make it remain.
She guessed being in one if not the most secretive family in the world had its advantages even against their own family. "I know Yui but to be on Spade's border of all places without a lifeline..." she paused for a second "It's not that they don't want us to succeed, if anything, it feels as if they want to kill us." she would say taking her sister's hand. Twins were rare within the family and she and her own twin were rarer still for multiple reasons. They would go with the flow most of the time without issue, it's only when it had something to do with one and not the other or attempting to separate them that they had ever gone against the grain and caused a fuss. It was something that the family had dealt with when they were young finding it cute, hoping that they would grow out of it. They never had.
"Yui, you know the history of our family and this kingdom, if we get caught..." she shook her head not wanting to think about such things. They were barely fifteen years old and could be killed purely for wanting to remain together. "Do you ever think our elders are cruel? I mean... they talk about the darkness and cruelty of daemons and other such things but wouldn't this fall under that umbrella?" she would ask her sister shuddering a little hoping that she was just overexaggerating the situation but it was hard to do so given the circumstances they found themselves in. It was only for a single year. It shouldn't be that bad, right? She wasn't so convinced but she would give her best effort to show that regardless of the threat they faced that they would always survive it if they were together.
"Yui, I.... I don't think our elders expect us to survive." she said looking into her twins eyes "Think about it, they put us on the most deadly border to our family, with no lifeline..." she began before looking at their dormant family rings "even if we survive our rings may not activate so we would need to find our way to our family estate so we could get back home." she continued "That is going to be quite the issue as we don't know were the estate is and it's not exactly like we can ask for directions or its going to raise questions or do they expect us to remain in this exact spot and wait for a portal to just turn up out of nowhere?" she didn't want to think horribly of their family but it was hard not to due to their situation at their hands.
"We are a strong unit and we just need to prove that to them." she said with a weak smile it was then she clenched her hands a little looking down "We may look like children but we look like Delothosin children, who knows what would happen to us if we were found, but then that just means we need to be careful so they don't catch us hu?" she was trying to look at things from a brighter side although it was hard she would at least try. "We've always been who we want to be without anyone telling us otherwise, every time they have it has turned into a headache for them." she said with a small chuckle as it was how it landed them both on the border they found themselves on. She listened to her twin and pointed in what seemed like a random direction but it wasn't, at least not for her. "Our family's old enclave is in that direction, we could go there." she suggested.

June kept ahold of her twin's hand listening to her concern as she shaked her head. " It will be alright Nui... Family has not helped us and want to see us fail because we aren't bidding with what they want us to. We are Twin, you halves of the same soul. One meant to ascend while the other remains, but neither was going to move up without the other bring on the same level. "She spoke gently in soft spoken confidence. They didn't need words, they didn't need or want anyone but the other half within a world all their own. Never could anyone hope to understand their world or the bond between the two. Most assumed it could be a phase that they would or should grow out of. The normal mortal longing to be unique and unlike anyone else. That was never the came for the both of them. Forever they followed one unspoken rule. One will not move forward without the other.
"Whatever happens Sister, we will deal with it together. As long as we have each other, there is no distance or situation we can't survive as long as we keep pushing to be reunited with each other. The only life line we need in this hostile territory is ourselves. Let spade come at us and just try it. let the entirety of this world try and come at us. I will keep fighting for a place where we can be whoever we want without anyone telling us otherwise. We are who we are and nothing will ever change that. "She stated in confidence continuing in the general direction where they assumed the old enclave would be. She could never remember this enclave but she had heard the history of their family and the betrayal that fell of them because of jealous curiosity and harsh under handlings. Humans were cruel creatures. Wars and situations have drawn blood over smallest things such as a woman's simple hello, to another male can drive one to do crazy things.
"I have faith in us and us alone. There is no one in this world. No UNIVERSE! That could ever shake my faith in us. We have fought tooth and nail against everything and one that has tried separating us down different paths. This will be a piece of cake because I got you and you got me." She said with a smile looking over at her twin. Spade was such a weird kingdom. To be far she thought all the kingdoms were weird for being named after suits. You got oddball Spade, Warring Diamond, Fragile heart, and the forever changing trends of Clover kingdom. Who even came up with those names. They were lame for kingdoms if you asked June. She was disappointed in simple naming. They hold no meaning, no pride, they were just those names who wanted to talk about their kingdom and have to use names like diamond this, or diamond that. You would think there would have been a tiny bit more iq amongst the creators of these kingdoms and their society to be changing the names that are worth saying.
She made the slow trek with her twin, remaining side by side, never ahead or behind Rune, always in unison. They were who they were. They were not going to hide who they were just because this kingdom was still butthurt they didn't get to find any of their family secrets. That situtation happened ages before there time, she often wondered if Spade knew how to just let go and moved on. She always was excited about the world outside their enclave, enspecially the enclave they left behind. She heard the place wasn't the most damaged of ruins but anything having to do with their family and its secrets were gone or destoried. She has heard old tales and myths of various items and creatures that had once been left or allowed free to roam the Enclave. She always knew such things were just ghost stories of older kids trying to tease and get a scare out of the younger generations to occupy their time.
Whether or not those stories were true and there were things of their family's pasts was enough to allow her wild imagination and excitement to flare up "I wonder what it is like in there after so long? Do you think the various vegetation has over taken the place? "she asked in curiosity. " Can you imagination the evolution of life in there that didn't leave it after all these years. Oh I am so fired up and excited for this. "She said getting her mind focused. She couldn't let their worries get the better of them. They needed to survive for the year and that was the safest place for them. She didn't know all that was inside it or left momently awaiting for their family to return. However, she would rather face things caused by her family then deal with the stupid ideologies and annoying outsiders that call the rash climate of spade home. She looked ahead of them. They had a long trek to go on and it didn't help that spade gets colder as you move in further into the kingdom. They needed to find the family enclave and get inside before getting shelter before the cold of the climate tries claiming their lives, along with the other things within this kingdom that was just as deadly, the people, the various animals and the horrors of trying to get food and survive without possibly being hunted for who they are. This was going to be a challenge, but it was one she wasn't about to back down on. Rune depended on her just as much as she depended on him. This wasn't just about her life but the life of her twin.
