[attr="class","haniascroll"]Once every season the head of the Ravencrest decided that he would at least appear to be sociable and hosted a banquet. Due to how strict he was with security on his family's main estate he decided that these events would be held in one of the Ravencrest's summer homes. As he didn't want to deep dive into everyone attending these banquets he gave the staff that maintained them the night off to do other things, he also paid for them to stay at a very well-respected inn and that there would be activities for adults and child alike to enjoy for the inconvenience. He hired the best chefs and caterers to tend to his guests and had a menu already worked out and the ingredients required for it to be made. It was clear that he planned everything to the smallest detail so the chances of things going wrong were slim.
This was an event only for adults and those who brought children would be turned away as there was no staff or other arrangements made to entertain them. He did say that when they found alternative arrangements for the child they could return and nothing would be said about it. He hired decorators so that the place would be filled with colours fitting the season, in this case, it was gold, crimson and oranges, to fit into the warm feel of summer. As the decorators were doing their jobs he kept an eye on the chefs and caterers. These people were hired by Hania several times a season and so were used to such mannerisms, it once bothered them but after he explained he didn't eat anything he couldn't see being made where they thought it odd they understood. The giant paycheck help also helped ease their concerns.
Just as things were nearing being ready he moved to get changed, he ordinarily wore ice blues, silvers and white but he moved to dress into a hanfu that was ocean blue, sky blue and white to almost be like the ocean. As guests arrived he would greet each and take their invitation. He knew where each invitation had been sent and who he was expecting, he had received news from Hinota that she wasn't able to attend and hoped that it was fine that she gave her invitation to Freyr Alrekr. Ordinarily, he would have declined this change as if he had wanted the person to be there he would have been given his family invite, that being said the Alrekr family were held in high regard and he knew Hinota wouldn't just offer her invite to just anyone, this meant that she had started bonding with the man.
He was surprised she hadn't given the invite to one of her siblings and he wouldn't be vocal about the twin princes as they were still of his homeland and could make his life difficult when he occasionally visited the Yuiee estate, there was just something about the pair that felt off. He couldn't put his finger on it and believed he may have been imagining things, however, his instincts had scarcely been wrong in the past. He wrote back letting her know that was fine and thanked her for informing him of the change, he also wished her well on the reason she couldn't be there and hoped they could arrange a time to catch up at another time. He knew that the young woman wouldn't push for it and not be offended if he didn't reach out socially. Eventually, however, Freyr would make his presence known. "Good evening Freyr, I hope your journey was pleasant." he said his tone polite and he bowed ever so slightly instead of shaking his hand.
Rank & Element: Junior ¦ Light Class & Type: Relic ¦ Accessory (bracelet) Magic Specializations: Physical Reinforcement ¦ Healing Appearance & Lore: A simple bracelet made out of reinforced glass with an opalite charm dangling from it almost like a pendulum, that gives off a dull light during the day and a bright light during the night preventing any natural shadow from forming.
There is nothing of major historical importance or deep story into where this item came from. The white-haired heir of the Ravencrest family has suffered from terrible day and night terrors since he was young and still does to this day. When asked what is wrong he brushes it off telling people not to worry it was a condition he had. He will never go into the terrible things he sees, in fact, he personally wishes he could forget he quickly realized that his perfect memory was a double edge sword and at times he truly wished he didn't have it.
His elder sister Lydia was the first to realize that it happened more when he was in an emotional state or surrounded by darkness. She also realized that he refused to sleep unless every light source he could find was active or he would sleep outside under the sun during the day, this wasn't optimal as he was to be trained to take over the family if anything were to happen to Lydia. Still, there wasn't much anyone could think to do to help him as he refused to open up but even if they could that came with a different set of hurdles they had to get over. Hania earlier in his life wouldn't take things from people due to his treatment before being adopted.
It took a while but Lydia finally found a way to help her younger brother, she had a crystal made with light inside and told him to use it when he sleeps. She said it was hers and she just wanted to see if it would help. He was reluctant but she said it only had to be a few days so he accepted. Throughout those few days, he slept somewhat peacefully so it was clear that it helped but not enough, she could only guess that the light wasn't strong enough. She realized this would be fine for a normal child afraid of the dark but it was clear to the pink-haired woman that this wasn't a normal situation.
She personally designed what she believed would help him the most, she chose the materials, their appearance even the opalite that dangles from it. As the bracelet was being made she slowly started to imbue her own element into the glass beads and the opalite as the former was created and the latter was shaped. It took close to a year to complete but Lydia seen it as something that should be done slow and steady, this was to make sure that it was done right the first time and that no matter what it would be near indestructible for whatever he may face in life.
On what is now classed as Hania's eighth birthday after a certain incident happened, she gave him a box, and within it laid the bracelet. He was told to keep it with him always as she would be there to keep the darkness at bay and watching over him so he could be at peace while he rested. From that moment he has always kept it with him even if he hasn't always worn it.

[attr="class","Freyrtext"] Today was the day to actually be able to see what all the squealing of his siblings was with Hania Ravencrest. He knew the man had an other worldly look to him that made most girls squeal in delight with glances or hope to have him look their way. He was among the most eligible bachelors or THE most eligible bachelor. That was the big topic in his head. Freyr had gotten up early that morning to take a extra long bathe ensuring he looked the part and smelled it. he was clean shaved and debated for an hour whether his hair should be up or if he was to leave it down. After testing it up and it down several times, he decided to keep it down. He only liked it up when he was painting or doing paper work.
[break][break] Today he had an outfit of greens and blues subtle but noticeable for the tones of summer. His amber eyes watched the landscape move by from the carriage ride to the Summer home of the Ravencrest within Bable. He was excited to meet with Hania and just hear how the man talked. He was sure it was going to be more business formal or maybe business casual but how knows. His mother and sisters always enjoyed these parties. He really wasn't that bad.
[break][break] Stepping out of the carriage he straightened out his shirt before seeing Hania address him as he nodded bowing slightly in respect as well. "Good Evening to you as well Hania, Thankyou for allowing the change in invitation at the last moment. The trip was lovely and relaxing. Babel has some beautiful sights along with the smells of the area. " He replied thoughtfully as he soaked in every feature and movement of the man. He could see up close the beauty of him and how his sisters fangirled for the vice captain. [break][break]
[attr="class","haniascroll"]The summer banquet had already begun, there was music playing and people mingling happily. He was honestly going to need a month without human contact after this, it just drained his social battery so much. Still, appearances had to be maintained and so once a season he personally hosted a banquet in some way. It usually had beverages both alcoholic and non-alcoholic as well as food that was seasonal. In this case there was a lot of chilled fruit, ice cream, smoothies, fish, vegetable and rice dishes. He did make sure there were chicken and beef dishes for those who preferred it. He, of course, was a gracious host who took his guests' dietary requirements to heart and so spared no expense. There were other things to eat and drink but these were the most common that could be seen in the buffet that was there to be eaten before the meal later in the evening.
He greeted each guest as they entered and even answered questions, offering compliments as required, if a person didn't know any better he was quite the social butterfly. It was then the white-haired male came in and offered him a greeting like any other. "Hinota can be persuasive when she wants to be, but I saw no reason to deny her request as a friend." he said his voice calm. Hearing that the journey was pleasant as there were many sights and smells that brought the other pleasure he smiled and nodded "I spent a lot of my younger years here, the libraries are unmatched." he said his voice slightly warmer. It was honestly why he preferred to hold the banquets here it was dear to his heart. It was also where his new life had stated within his current family.
"I must say I was quite surprised when Hinota let me know that it was you whom she was offering her invite. I have sent them to you personally in the past and always got a letter politely thanking me for the invite but not being able to attend." he said truthfully, he wasn't at all angry or upset he knew that the other man was busy and had obligations to his family it was why he only sent the invitations to his sisters and mother after the third letter saying he was busy. "You're mother and sisters arrived not too long ago." he said as a glass of red liquid was brought to him. "Thank you Liana, could you bring Freyr here a glass of red wine please." he requested. The young woman bowed a little and moved quickly to get what was requested of her "She will be back momentarily." he said thinking little of it
"Your mother speaks highly of you in many ways, one of them as a painter." he said taking a sip from the glass, though red it was clear it wasn't wine. "Have you had any inspiration of late?" it was clear he was just having small talk with the other, he didn't want to be formal in any way but it was difficult for him due to the way he was raised. Eventually the woman came back with a glass on a tray with red wine and held it out to Freyr. "It's over two hundred years old, from what I'm told it's a great vintage." it was clear that Hania himself had never drunk it, but then he hated alcohol in general as it made him feel off and believed it dulled his senses. He had only drank once and that was when his sister had forced him to take the edge off from his flashes, he told her never to make him do it again and since that glass he never had taken another sip.

[attr="class","Freyrtext"] Freyr never saw parties as anything more then social networking sort of habits. People getting to know others whether they wear masks or no masks. To him, much gatherings were lacking true color, there was too much gray. The faces were dull or blur. Nothing about them was beautiful. However, Freyr was taking a chance with this party. Maybe there will be some life within this party. The travel was always breath taking for him. He loved the sights and smells of babel from the busy libraries to the landscapes of beauty. Such things were always a sight to see whether it was for a party or not. [break][break] Arriving at the party he took in the sights, enspecially the host himself greeting each and every person who wished to join the party. His mother and sisters were not kidding when it came to the otherworldly beauty and elegance of the man infront of him. He soaked in every single feature and color that was of their host with his amber brown eyes. So much life and inspiration flowed in his mind. He couldn't wait to learn more of the colors and the story they held within his mind from the interactions. He listened to Hania's reasoning for not denying the change in invitation as Freyr smiled back nodding in agreement folding his arms behind his back " I have always loved Babel. Its libraries held so many colors and stories of it's beauty as well as the countless knowledge of all historical art and the artists before myself." He spoke in earnest. [break][break] He closed his eyes as he nodded. "Let such gatherings have always been pretty dull in the life and tones of the color within it. I actually met Hinota for the first time within the unseelie keep in Town of Silva. It was an actual refreshing experience. To meet one so young as Hinota brimming with knowledge and life of a veteran. Let alone one who is a captain. This kingdom never ceases to amaze me of all its squads have to hold. We actually seemed to get alone greatly while moving through the dungeon. She offered such and well while I felt refusing was better. I did also feel that maybe it was time for some new inspiration and new scene. So I guess she was the one to change my view along with my mother and sisters always speaking so highly of you and all these banquets." He admitted. [break][break] He heard his mother and sisters have arrived not too long before himself as he nodded " Yeah I had some small things that needed my attention before arriving so I sent them to arrive before myself as I wasn't sure how long it would take me." He replied listening to Hania receive a glass of a red liquid as it might look like wine but it seemed a bit different by how it moved. He thanked Hania for the consideration as he stood beside him, keeping a respectable space between them as he chuckled lightly as the mention of his mother and her chatty ways. He couldn't fault the woman. He was proud of himself for many things from becoming a silver eagle, to working on a project of his own want to just being able to enjoy himself in his paintings. " Mother has always seemed so proud of me in many ways. I am honored to have such a woman as a mother." He spoke watching him take a sip of his drink before starting some small talk. [break][break] "Oh yes, I have found much inspiration just from my talk with Hinota. The woman was amazing to see her knowledge of herself and the nature around her. It was a refreshing experience and one that have renewed a grand collection I have been creating of the Beautiful meadows of flowers and the nature this kingdom holds. I think it will be an amazing collection to possibly put in an auction or for my own private gallery for a much different time or project." He spoke. " I haven't quiet decided what is fit for the destiny of the paintings or when my collection will be done. However, I have enjoyed the process neither the less." He replied scanning the environment allowing his striking amber eyes to watch Hania, his smile remaining on his face, calm and warm as the words that came from his mouth. [break][break] He thanked the servant accepting the glass of wine presented on the tray as he swirled it around sniffing it. "Oh it smells like a good year."He replied getting the subtle hint Hania hadn't touch the wine to know himself if it was a good year or not, other then research and word of mouth most likely. It was not Freyr's place to say or ask but he was curious of their host. [break][break]

[attr="class","haniascroll"]Such lavish parties were nothing more than a tool for keeping up appearances to others, he honestly could do without breaking his social battery for months on end when he forced himself to host one of these things. He gained absolutely nothing from this other than added expenses and a headache. Nobles who usually didn't get on put on masks and pretended to be the strongest of allies, it was so fake and everyone knew it but appearances were everything in their world and it would do no good to upset someone like the ice mage. In return, he put on the mask of a hospitable host who enjoyed being social and dealing with the people he would rather pretend didn't exist outside of the noble court. Luckily, he only did this for the banquet then he could go back to being an antisocial cave dweller who hid inside his library.
So far, the day had been going well... for the most part. There were several nobles he had sent away as they decided to break his rules and bring their children, some even came with the nannies of the children and each time he refused them entry stating they knew his rules as he had stated them on the invitation. Even if they tried to argue he wouldn't budge on the matter, if he wanted children there he would have hired entertainment for them and had people there to tend to them but this was for adults. He did state for those who argued that when they hosted a banquet they could choose the rules but as this wasn't the case they had no say. That being said there was only one exception to the rule and that was if the parents were with their newborn child.
He understood the need for adults to socialize but that a child so young shouldn't be away from their source of food, so as long as the parents brought a nanny, they would be allowed to enter. He did have a nursery set up for that kind of thing and the nanny would have food and drink brought to them periodically by the caterers Hania had hired. With the disruptions out of the way, he could at least pretend to be enjoying himself. It would seem as if he had found himself with a person he had sent an invitation to several times in the past but each time it had been turned down, this was why he was so surprised to see that Hinota had requested such a thing, equally surprising was the fact that he actually turned up. "You are not wrong, it is an intellectual wonder." he would finally reply.
"I have spent a great amount of time within the libraries both in study and watching my cousin Edward giving several hour lectures about book locations and book care. I would never wish to be on the receiving end of one of those but I always take care of books in my care and place them back where they should be." he said with a smile, Edward was respected yet his lectures were infamous across the kingdom. "There are other names I could call noble gatherings and dull isn't one of them I assure you." he said in a hushed tone, with so many nobles around there was no way to know who was listening in or may walk up out of nowhere and so was careful in what he said and how loud. "I heard your squad's location has had several dungeons turn up in as many months." he genuinely seemed concerned.
"It is strange however that Nicodemus would reach out to Hinota of all people, then again she is a well-respected support mage." he seemed somewhat perplexed as surely even the almighty Silver Eagles had healers and support mages in their ranks. "I am glad you got along well with her. I have never worked with her myself but she has helped my cousin get over a mana block and even worked with her during the whole Daemon threat." he informed the other. "From what I have heard she has had quite the career, even at the beginning she was noted to be a rising star." he said thoughtfully "I must admit, there are many who believe she shouldn't be a magic knight due to her status and pacifism but I think if a person wishes to serve they should be allowed to regardless of personal belief or status." he finished his voice was earnest as he spoke.
"When squads mesh well it's always a good thing, however, there are some who only do it for their selfish reasons and it gives their squad and the magic knights in general a bad name. It's a public relations nightmare and as if the magic knights need the bad publicity, especially since Kikka." he said sighing and shaking his head solemnly. "The young woman has quite the talent it seems for making people rethink things." he said lightly chuckling "I hope you do gain some inspiration if not some insight into the fakeness our world drops us in from time to time." the latter part of his sentence he moved once again into hushed tones, the last thing he wanted to do was point out the open secret that he was pretty sure even the most ignorant person knew.
"Responsibilities for ones family need to come before all else, well, with the exception of the kingdom if they are a magic knight so I completely understand." he said calmly, this was something that had been drilled into him since he became a member of the Ravencrest. He took another sip of the red liquid within his glass, he turned his head as someone came and whispered something into his ear making him nod "Yes, that's fine. Please thank him for me." he said his voice warm as he spoke to the caterer who bowed a little and walked off to deal with whatever was the issue. "I do apologise it seems that a fruit that I was told wouldn't be available has become available but at a higher price than expected." he informed the elder male, he saw no reason to keep such a thing secret as they had been talking and he didn't want to be rude.
"Then continue to do her proud, she is your biggest supporter." he said softly, there was easily some sadness seen in his eyes but he had previously been an orphan since he was sent to Clover but he was glad for the family that he now had and wouldn't trade them for his mother at any time. The conversation once again turned back to the floral mage "If I didn't know any better I would think you were smitten with the young lady Yuiee." he said teasing just a little. "But yes, is quite self-aware of herself and her surroundings. I am sure she will be happy to know that she has revived your muse and has inspired you to do a collection based on the natural world around us." he said with a smile "I think an auction sounds wonderful." his tone sounded impressed.
"The proceeds could go towards a charity you are backing or even to one of your current or future projects." he wasn't attempting to push his suggestion but merely what it could mean if he did so. "I can understand wanting to keep such beauty for your private collection though." He wasn't against art, well that was unless he had to be involved in it. "So longs you enjoy the process and journey of your passion that is all that matters at the end." he truly believed this. Hania watched what happened when the original caterer brought a glass of wine for Freyr "I'm glad." he noticed the man's body language and smiled "I don't drink." he said honestly. "I don't like how it makes me feel or how it dulls my way of thinking or my senses." he was quite open on this matter with everyone who asked him as he would only drink water and tea at other banquets if no juice options were available.

He was told to keep it with him always as she would be there to keep the darkness at bay and watching over him so he could be at peace while he rested. From that moment he has always kept it with him even if he hasn't always worn it.

Freyr took a sip standing alongside his host holding their conversation. so far so good they didn’t seem to not get along so that was a plus. He looked toward hania listening to him speaking of the times he spent in the libraries of babel and of how he often listened to Edward’s lectures of the books and how they are misplaced. It was not unknown knowledge of the royal archivist and his sixth sense of books being misplaced or misused. He has heard stories of the lectures some poor librarians have received when Edward decided to grace their books. “I have heard tales of his lectures being so critical that most never over step on their books again, ensuring each return to its proper home” he replied in acknowledgement “I have never been on the receiving end but I feel it is not the best place to be unless you are one that love lectures of how you were wrong.” he said.

“Oh is that so” he spoke assumed on hania’s takes on the noble gathering. He found them dull for the fact of all of the gatherings most were of fake smiles and calls of friendship with strings taking to take ahold for a darker want. He found such gatherings filled with dull or dark colors now some had beautiful bright colors but most are dulled by the end of the gathering. He took another sip of the wine taking in its rich scent.

“Yeah that is something I have noticed. It has me worried of why suddenly there seems to be an increase in them. As for why the captain decided to ask for hinota's assistance, if I had to guess I think it was because of her connection to her element that maybe she would have insight to understanding its appearance. It was something else truly.”he replied “the woman is something else just talking with her was relaxing and seeing her processes and handling is nothing short of amazing. She has even invited me to come to the Yuiee estate to meet the craftsman there and take in the sights. When it comes to the magic knights if one feels a calling for such they should always go for it no matter what. Live life with no regrets is how i have always viewed it."He spoke taking a sip from the wine as he watched the party. "Indeed when squad mesh it can be a great thing. I only hope squads continue to actually work together and not be at each other with their ego.." He said before chuckling lightly to the "Oh I have no doubt I will get so much inspiration indeed along with much needed breath of air to see such a sight" He spoke understanding the hush tones well to Hania's words. [break][break] Then the speak of family and responsibility came to play as he nodded knowing Hania should understand such a struggle as the man was head of his family, a magic knight, on top of being a political Genius. He heard stories and rumors of all what Hania has dealt with as a magic knight, as a Ravencrest. He only wondered how much of it was actually true and how much was just tells. It was then he watched a figure move to Hania, whispering something in his ear as Freyr sipped the wine watching them as it seemed just as quickly the man was gone to do his own thing. "No no, no need it was perfectly alright." He spoke. " I understand you are busy and some things can not wait, it is understandable. "He said. [break][break] Just as that it seemed their small talk turned to family as he listened to Hania's words as Freyr noticed the sadness, subtle, but present. He could only imagine what could be going through the male's head. He has heard rumors Hania himself wasn't a blood Ravencrest, but a boy Lydia had taken in at a young age. He has heard all sorts of theories of who's Hania's blood family was or even if he had any. It was all nothing but rumors from the rumor mill that was clover society. They all in one form or another had assumptions and theories of those around for one reason or another. His train of thought return to reality and their conversation back to Hinota as he laughed waving his hand dismissively " I can see where you might think that. Anyone who been around her might be. However, I don't see myself wishing such a pursuit. We are in different worlds and I do not think courting her is within my future. However, I can see a beautiful friendship with her from just our interactions." he replied "That she has. it is rather refreshing sense of being." he said folding his arms as he thought about the auction as he nodded . "I believe that will be the reason for the art. I been working on a side project of my own merit and it will soon take off once all the supplies I have paided for are sent to the location. I myself plan to assist as i can to ensure all the quality materials are good and my plans are followed." He said. "I love my art but I feel it is better shown to the world around and for those who wish it to be seen." he replied sipping his wine as he listened to Hania's explanation of why He didn't drink wine. "That does make some sense as wine or well alcohol in general. Some nobility as you know only really know of the substance from their own family's and circles as some do not pay attention to one's age since getting your grimoire makes one essentially an adult. Meaning such drinks are not barred from the youthful age of 15."He explained "Then again wine is sometimes something one has to drink a lot to not feel the effects to harshly." He said [break][break]

[attr="class","haniascroll"]Hania didn't seem to mind that he was spending some time with Freyr, so far they seemed to be getting on quite well and his survival instinct to flee from a conversation that would be boring him to death hadn't kicked in so that was a good start. It seemed as if Freyr was indulging his conversation about spending time within the libraries of Babel, it was where he had begun to learn the Clovian language as a child, even before he had been adopted into the highly respected Ravencrest family. Edward's sixth sense when it came to books was infamous it seemed throughout the kingdom. Luckily he, himself had never been on the receiving end of one of the several hour long lectures but he cherished the books, scrolls and other mediums of knowledge within his personal collection, then again he treated those within the public region just as well.
"When he last lectured Amaya it lasted over eight hours, she had a tea party with her circle that day and was unable to attend. I had to send my deepest apologies as she was the one meant to be the hostess." he hated putting out the fires his family created but it was part of his duties as the head of the family. "She forgot to return a book to the family library and decided to put her tea cup on it as if it was a coaster." he said shaking his head "Edward would have continued all day if he hadn't had another engagement but she's never made the same mistake again." he said with a light chuckle, he was quite sure Amaya was petrified even to look in the general direction of a book at the best of time nowadays.
"No-one in their right mind would enjoy being lectured let alone being lectured by someone in my family because we will go back generations and tell you how your ancestors from eight or so generations previous caused you to screw up." he said, he was quite sure that there was some truth to that theory the more he thought of it. He nodded to Freyr's words "I could tell you more or less all flaws, scandals, rivalries, budding romances and potential alliances of everyone or family in this room." it was clear he hated dealing with the fakeness of nobility at the best of times, usually if someone made a claim like he currently had a person could take it with a pinch of salt but due to the ice mage playing his cards to his chest it was hard to know one way or another. What was known was he had been dealing with the noble court on the Ravencrest's behalf since he was a child.
"Perhaps the mana is being merciful to Kikka after everything that has befallen it, there is also the fact that it could be so that the Silva's egos are creating them or the mana wanting to knock those egos down a few pegs but who knows." the latter two explanations he almost sounded amused but it was hard not to be given their entitlement. "That might indeed be the case but our dear acquaintance does have quite the reputation as the best support mage our kingdom has to offer." he said thoughtfully, he already knew if she changed her loyalties it would make whoever she gave her loyalty to a pain in the ass to deal with but he doubted that something like that would ever come to pass fortunately. "I have never had the pleasure of working with her so I will take your word on that." he replied.
"My cousin Amaya enjoys her time with her and her peers respect her, so I'm glad you too seemed to find her company pleasant." he said with a smile, he had yet to hear a bad word about the new captain which normally would be cause for concern but she wasn't exactly your everyday magic knight. "I must say, I'm impressed that you secured an invite to pass the mystical mist that protects that family's estate. The views are indeed breathtaking and the craftsmen are held to the same standard within the imperial city" he informed the other as he took a sip of his drink "Yours is a refreshing view but there are still a lot who believe that due to her outlook and her pacifism that she has no right to be on a battlefield, her own family being chief amongst them." he said with a whisper.
"Squads are like families and they don't always get on well with one another squad interrelations are an entirely different beast as there can be animosity or other issues." he said taking another sip of his drink. "If we are talking about egos I hear your squad wins first, second and third prize each year." he said with a light chuckle, he knew it was a generalization but it wasn't one that wasn't warranted as he had heard that even some of the new arrivals were giving the Silva a run for their money. "I heard that one of the newcomers is a commoner who has an ego that has made many wonder if he is in fact a Silva bastard." he didn't put anything past them as the Silva also had a reputation of having relations with anything so longs it had a pulse.
The conversation switched back to the subject of inspiration and made him smile a little "Well, when that happens I must commission a piece of art from you for my personal library." he said looking at the other. While he may not like being painted he did indeed enjoy art and could appreciate the piece for hours on end, in fact, he believed that the artist's style of painting could tell you a lot about them at that moment. Hania had no idea what was going through the man's head while he dealt with the staff that had come up to speak to him in a hushed tone, he did however apologise for the disturbance of their conversation and explain what was going on. He was quite fortunate that Freyr understood that some things were unable to wait especially if something had been procured last minute.
"I am still thankful for your understanding in this matter Freyr, I have had many guests who believe me rude for doing what I did just now even if it was for the benefit of the banquet they are attending." he honestly couldn't understand those kinds of people as much as he tried and so didn't waste his time or effort on them, he just invited someone else from the family the next time around and hope that it was a familial anomaly with the one that acted stupid. Hania had shown sadness, it wasn't a secret that the Ravencrest had adopted him, it was surprising that he was chosen as the heir and now head of the family over someone who was blood but he had never done anything to steer his family wrong, if anything he had managed to forge many alliances with other noble families that were beneficial for both sides.
The conversation changed once again to the man pursuing the floral princess, he waved his hand dismissively and stated that were they did get along with each other he had no interest in her in that manner. He could respect him for that, her family while respected and powerful had a few screws loose here and there, mainly with her brothers from what he had seen. "She is highly sought after though she is betrothed to Valo Stark, then again I'm pretty sure if her father knew he was a commoner that betrothal would be broken off quicker than most could draw their next breath." he said knowing just how fickle imperials were especially when it came to their bloodlines succession. Manoeuvring around the Clovian noble court was child's play compared to the minefield that was the imperial court and was glad he didn't have to be in it all that often.
"I am sure she will be thankful for the blossoming friendship you both have, she has been quite sheltered for the majority of her life." he said knowing that the young woman was finding it hard to adjust, he couldn't begin to imagine how she navigated both worlds, he had observed that her family members had a lot more freedom awarded to them this included their mother but she was still expected to be a flawless doll. The ice mage himself was a traditional man and abided by many of the traditions of his homeland. Still, even he couldn't abide by the hypocrisy of that family which was outside of his pay grade and didn't want to bring down the wrath of imperials on his family's heads as they had helped his cousin and even provided his clothing as a gift.
"She is quite extraordinary in her own right, I deal with two of her family members in my squad and though they seem like good people... I get an unsettling feeling." he said honestly, he wasn't sure if it was because there was just something off-putting or that they were imperials and his natural instinct was to walk on eggshells whatever it was he didn't like it in the slightest. Hania listened as the elder male had found his resolve, it sounded as if he was going to go forward with an art auction for his work to help his current project. "I will eagerly be awaiting my invitation." he said with a warm tone, he wasn't the social type in the least but he did enjoy art and it was also good for his family's image so in his mind everyone won. "I have yet to see any of your work, perhaps you can give me a private showing sometime?" he knew it was an odd thing, especially for him but this was an exception to the rule.
"Most people are already stupid, alcohol just makes it far more noticeable to those who are otherwise oblivious." he said calmly knowing it to be the truth of the matter. "Also, some people don't know their limits and can make fools of themselves and in doing so skeletons can end up leaving closets." he said truthfully. Even if he didn't mind the taste and knew his limits just the sheer feeling of knowing his senses and wits would be duller was enough to put him off drinking another glass of wine after the one Lydia had forced him to drink.
Freyr was oddly really enjoying time with Hania. there was just something about the Ravencrest that had him interested. Maybe it was his glow, maybe the tone? He was puzzled behind his calm expression and exterior. He certainly found interest in the male next to him. He chuckled at the story of Amaya getting a lecture for eight hours over a simple misuse of a book. "I don't think I could handle getting such a lecture. I will be sure to keep cherishing my books as I always have." He said with nod of understanding "well I hope she continues to never cause such a problem again or I fear the next lecture might be worse." He said before shrugging "hey some people seem to get lectured so much sometimes that it can make one curious if they like being lectured much like all the gossips." He spoke leading into their next topic. [break][break]
Seems Hania was quiet the fountain of tea. He always assumed that all the squealing and gossip about the bachelor was nothing but the truth. The man really seemed to be the one to go to for any information of anyone. maybe it was his eye for observation or reading body language, or maybe people just seem attracted enough to him to allow the man to read them like a book. It was then their topic switched to that of the dungeons that seemed to suddenly plague town Silva as well as give him a chance to meet the flower mage. [break][break]
"I hope the mana is indeed being merciful to Kikka. It has suffered far too much and still had much healing to go."He said with a nod letting out a chuckle at the jab towards the Silvas "oh it is refreshing to have such attention befall the Silvas. Nicodemus handles his duties great for a Silva, most likely the only Silva i will even be willing to respect, if i am honest. After all it was most likely because of his request and knowing of the flower mage that she came into the dungeon and helped us tend to the issue. I hope you will get a chance sometime to see her at work, it is such a sight to behold." He spoke as he nodded folding an arm behind his back as he swirled his wine looking down at the liquid in thought. "Well. We got into conversation of the beauty of nature and how the dungeon inspired some new ideas and well she offered to invite me to her estate, to see the beauty of what it held. It is a sight beyond words and like a world of its very own within the lands we know." He spoke. "As for views, there are many ways to fight battles and many fronts battles can take part in. Not every one needs a knife to deal lasting damage." He said "Sometimes a strong will of a soft soul can bring down the biggest of wounds that some will not be able to heal for generations. "He said with a chuckled. [break][break]
He took a sip of the wine as he listened to the topic of the squads and egos. " Yes, squads should be like family's and I would wager to say mine steals the show every single time in the ego category. As for the newest one. he is very much something else. I think the Silva has a contagious ego and I think that poor boy has taken it in full swing. I am definitely not very liked on his list within the squad as well he wished to hold an discussion of an event that was more meant to be brought up to the captain or the vice but it seems to him, he was already within the captaincy mindset. He even believed because he was gaining so many stars that the rest of us were just sitting around and doing nothing. It is quite saddening to see such potential be wasted because of his ego. "He said with a sigh. He did wish for the youth to grow as he was sure someday he would be a great leader, just he wasn't as ready as he believed. [break][break]
it was then he noticed a slight movement on Hania's lips, did he just move to smile? Freyr was curious of the topic to come. It seemed the topic of his art. He was amazed to hear the Ravencrest was possibly interested in commissioning a piece of art for his personal library. He looked towards the man as well as the servant whispered something to Hania only for Hania to then apologize and explain the reasoning for the interruption. [break][break]
Freyr nodded " Well, we are the guests, You are the host. You what you can within your ability to make sure these banquets are fitted to possibly fit each and every person as much as you can. It is only understandable that we should be understanding of your effort...even if some are not so deserving it seems. I personally am enjoying this one that is for sure so i am not offended."he said with a warm smile [break][break]
then the conversation came back to hinota as he nodded "I have heard of Valo stark, the new captain of the black bulls. I honestly have never meet the guy, I heard he isn't a bad guy and means well, though from what i heard he doesn't think all too well in battle, but i suppose that is where she makes up for that of him." He started as he was surprised to hear Valo was a commoner and hino's family didn't know. "I am sure some day they will come to terms or find their footing as a couple. But to keep such a secret hidden it almost feels...well wrong if I am honest. At least to someone like hino to keep such a thing. I am thankful to be her friend as i do agree she might be sheltered but she has such a want to learn and understand this kingdom. She is but a 16 year old girl but seeing her views and handling of this world is interesting and how she managed to navigate it is absolute mastery that is for sure. If i had to guess, if the roles were reversed. I don't think my hair could get any whiter as it seemed so stressful. "he spoke in curious thought. [break][break]
he then heard the topic change to the auction as he chuckled lightly "Well I am sure I can muster some of my actual finished pieces for you to see, I will most definitely hope to invite you soon. how knows having you insight on some of my work in progress might be helpful in bringing them to life and be fitting for the sight of clover." He added before he nodded at the mention of alcohol " Oh most definately in that front. some want to drown in it for one reason or another, others use it to give themselves an excuse to drop their guard. I personally don't drink it all that much as it doesn't help at all when i am in the modd to paint."he said

[attr="class","haniascroll"]The ice mage watched the other carefully there was a slight smile on his face, usually he would speak a little to each guest but he was more than content spending his time talking with the elder male. It seemed as if they had quite a bit in common and so it wasn't the same recycled topics that he would hear throughout the night when he normally held one of his banquets. In honesty, the Ravencrest head was getting rather bored of hosting these things and was thinking of stopping them altogether but this one was giving him hope and reason to continue draining his social battery each season thanks to his current conversation. "I have always been careful with my belongings regardless of their importance." he said calmly "This has prevented too many issues since being adopted into my family." he said not wanting to go too much into it.
"I respect my cousin Edward greatly but I do feel as if he has no understanding of times flow when he goes off on his tangents." he said thoughtfully. "I think that might be wise, however, I do not think you have anything to fear unless you run a library or bookstore." he said covering his mouth lightly chuckling. "My cousin Amaya has learned her lesson and ensures that each book is housed back where she got it when she is finished with it." he said bringing his hand back down to rest by his side. "I would believe if a person enjoys being lectured for that long they may wish to seek some help as it isn't healthy." he said his tone showing concern "That being said, you can often find out a lot about a person the more they talk as they are more likely to let things slip." he informed the other.
Hania was a mountain of information for a whole host of reasons but he kept everything to himself as it wouldn't benefit him or his family if he didn't. It didn't stop him from using the information that he had obtained when it was required. He had caused several noble families to land in scandals or even fall from grace just for getting on the side of him or his family but it had never been tracked back to him or the Ravencrest. The ice mage was far from stupid, his captain liked to remind him he was too smart for his own good at times. He didn't see it as a bad thing as it allowed him to keep a level head in high-pressure and stressful situations, it was also the reason his family ran as smoothly as it did.
It didn't stop the ice mage from being spoken about but as he never reacted to it, it was hard to know what was going through his mind or if the gossip and rumour-mongering about him held any real water to it. "The Lilygate are still doing their best with helping to heal the pain there but even they believe that it could take a considerable amount of time given the pain and suffering under the shadow archdaemon Sven." he said his tone showing distaste as he spoke the daemon's name "I do find it ironic that the current purple orca captain has the same name." He said believing that it might have been a bit of a sore point even if the man was the best to lead, but then it wasn't like the captain had a choice in his name.
He had also noted that the only squad that hadn't been greeted by the same level of distrust in Kikka was the squad located there. Then again, it did make sense given that the purple orca had been affected by the same daemons and were unable to aid those inside the town. "If I didn't know any better I would think you have no faith in the Silva in defending their town or performing their duties." he said watching the other with a small smile on his face. It was a well-known fact that there was no love loss between the Silva and the Ravencrest but the ice mage was being very careful with his wording on this matter. He believed for the most part that most of the family was dead weight that should be shot into the sun but he did respect one or two of the family to some extent with Nicodemus being amongst them.
"I understand why you would hold Nicodemus in high regard, he is highly respected amongst the magic knight captains regardless of his shortcomings." he said taking a sip of his drink "The former heir on the other hand." he rolled his eyes, that was something he wasn't willing to touch with a ten-foot pole. "I am sure you can understand as he was formerly one of your squadmates." There were so many red flags when it came to Nova and his unhealthy mommy obsession. It was also believed that he was quite the skirt chaser and acted outside of the norm for one of his family and station, personally the ice mage wondered how the male hadn't been disowned more than that he wondered how he reached adulthood. He understood he likely got into the Silver Eagles thanks to his family member being the captain and he couldn't fault that given how he had become a magic knight himself.
"Well, Hinota is well known for her specialities and magic in this kingdom and beyond." he said thoughtfully "I will say I am glad she is on our side as she would be quite the thorn in our side otherwise." he said looking to the other male he truly didn't want to think if somewhere like the Spade Kingdom got their hands her as they were already a hostile nation. "She's a gentle soul and is willing to help those in need even to her own detriment which can be a strength but could also be used against her, however, she is a tactician so I am sure she wouldn't allow herself to be left wide open unless it was for the greater good." he said, then again he also knew that all spells the woman had included healing so even if she wasn't shielding herself she could use another spell to out heal the damage done to her.
"It is unlikely that we will work together given our schedules, however, I have seen her dance and it was enchanting but I guess it is to be expected given her upbringing." he said he almost seemed troubled as he got to the end of his sentence. He knew how his culture was but he had to wonder if she was truly happy with everything that was expected of her. He knew it shouldn't bother him so as it had nothing to do with him or his family but he knew what it was like to have no voice and to have things decided for you. He now found himself wondering if he would be questioning such things if he hadn't been exiled to Clover by his birth parents and had been taken in by the Ravencrest.
"She could speak for hours on flowers and their meanings. I found out about many that could be eaten or used as medicine and those that should be avoided that aren't in any of the books I currently own." he said showing that she was quite the fountain of knowledge on flora, fauna and their uses. "It's wonderful you have gotten inspiration from your adventure, I have heard that artists can find muse in the most unusual of places." he said with a light chuckle. "It is said an invite beyond the mists that protect the Yuiee estate is quite rare. I go somewhat frequently and I can personally say some of the scenery is breathtaking it is almost like some of our homeland has been ripped up by the gods themselves and placed within Clover." he informed the other showing it was like going to a different country completely.
"I will warn you that though the estate is in Clover they do follow the traditions of their homeland, if someone messes up their punishment can be quite severe depending on what happened." he warned "Do not interfere or it could make matters worse." he let him know. It wasn't that long ago that the Yuiee had been granted a province of their own which meant while aligned with Clover it did have its own laws and traditions completely separate from it. He was brought out of his own train of thought as Freyr started to speak once more. "There's a reason there is a saying the pen is mightier than the sword." he said before taking a sip of his drink. "There is a folklore about a king and a power-hungry lord." he began with a smile.
"The power-hungry lord charged into the king's throne room and demanded he abdicate his thrown to him or he would be killed. The king didn't seem at all bothered by the man's threat. The lord stated did you not hear me with one swing of my sword I could fatally injure you. The king replied and with the flick of my pen I have just signed your death warrant." he said looking at some of his guests dancing. "As you said you don't need to be on the frontlines to deal a fatal blow, nor do you need to be the one holding the executioner's axe to get rid of traitors. You just need to be good at socializing with the right people or have enough respect that people will do what is needed to protect you." he said looking back at Freyr. "Hinota is politically savvy, a tactician, well-liked and respected." he reminded him.
"If she wanted to cause wounds to people it would be quick and could come from any number of directions as there are plenty of people who would willingly be her sword." he stated thoughtfully "And it is unlikely those wounds would leave for a good long while, it makes you glad that she is a peaceful soul who looks for the best in everyone and will attempt to do the least amount of damage for whatever the goal might be at that time." he said his tone calm "Do you know how she became captain of her squad given her aversion to violence?" he would ask, it wasn't exactly a well-known fact what her test was. Then again not a lot of people knew she had challenged for captaincy of the Golden Dawn until she took the position. He had to read the report due to being curious and even he was surprised at what it was and the outcome.
"Well I can't wait to see your new art pieces, I do hope you will invite me for a tour at some point." he said before taking another sip of his drink. "I wouldn't mind seeing some of your works in progress but I understand if you don't want anything seen until it is ready to be revealed." he said with a smile. "I can understand that too, I have heard that some artists find the opposite though but I find the reason that they would say that is for a reason to drink. I find myself not commissioning such artists even if they do meet the needs because who wants that around their family?" he would ask.

Freyr was enjoying this bounquet alot more then he thought and from what he could tell, he would be lying if he didn't think hania was enjoying his company. The man didn't seem to be wanting to run off to another guest but gave little conversations with each guest as they past the two. He sipped the wine as he listened to the ravencrest speak of always being careful with his belongs as it prevented so many issues within the family he was adopted by. He listened to him continue on about edward chuckling lightly at the joke of if anyone like lecturing they should get help. however it seemed that he would be safe from edward's wrath with his small collection of novels. He nodded to the acknowledgement of finding about others. "Well that is acknowledgable as one tends to drop their guard the more comfortable and given the feeling of the other caring for what they may or may not be saying."he said in acknowledgement.
[break][break] The man was interesting that was for sure. Freyr was finding it more enjoyable by the moment to speak with hania, He could care less of the bounquet so much as his conversations with hania. They were too good to just ignore. they were refreshing in his mind. The ravencrest was true to himself and his feelings and had an elegance of speaking.
[break][break] "yeah the lilygate are doing there best along with the purple orca but it is still so bad over there as even i can see the pain of the citizens when I must pass through. They have been in so much pain and so much harm is done. I don't believe they will be healed by the time I am no longer on this earth."he said shaking his head " I honestly feel a bit sorry for the captain having the same name, it must be a struggle."He acknowledged taking a swing of his drink before hearing hania's next jest.
[break][break] "Oh it's not that I have no faith in the silva. I have more faith in Nicodemous then alot of others in my squad. However, I feel the rest of his family has became...Lack luster for a lack of words. They just seem very...Bland. Maybe that is just me being around them so much that I am numb to their whole grandger and life style."He said thinking of his wording. He knew Nicodemious was strong, he had faith in his captain, it was the other silva that he had no faith in, some of the newest generations couldn't feel their ancestors shoes let alone be able to fit that mantle without extra ties. "yes that boy was....interesting for sure. His views on his own family was hostile and the fact the family didn't put him in his place did at one point have me worried that he might end up killing his own father."he said before their topic was once again on hino as he listened to hania's acknowledgement of the woman.
[break][break] Their schedules were never meeting enough for the two to ever work together but he was sure the two together might be able to take down an army on their own. He listened to his acknowledgements of the woman's way of life as hania wasn't wrong. the woman was too fragile and gentle for this line of work in his opinion. however, the woman showed many times to clover she wasn't fragile like glass. She was true to herself, just a 16 year old girl that saw the beauty most have forgotten about one way or another. any man would be grateful to have such a woman at their side. He knew if hinota needed his help he would provide it. the floral mage has earned his respect and trust not just as a magic knight but as a friend. Their dungeon was a peaceful one even with all the fighting he had to maintain as none of the creatures could seem to get past her shields. He snapped his attention from his own train of thought hearing hania seem interested in speaking of how hinota got her captaincy "I am actually curious because the flower mage is a pacifist. While i know she might have been taught how to fight and weild weapons to atleast a beginner degree at the minimum. I have heard captain blake is a very strong fighter so how could he give her a proper test to being the captain of the golden dawn?"he asked as he was curious indeed.
[break][break] He nodded in acknowledgement. "I am sure I can set something up by the end of the month, I hope these pieces will be great for viewing around the spirit festival to add to the excitement of the spirit praising season. My spring inspirational collection is almost done I believe I have one more piece to finish up."He said before he nodded lifting up the wine looking at the light through it. "I know some artists that are inspired by the drink's influence but I often find their work lacking their trueselves in their pieces plus when one is often down at the bottom of the bottle, Their presence lingers and not in the good way."He said
