After the attacks stopped for some time reports came of a bigger attack from similar creatures, seems they came further out of wherever they are hiding. The knights have been asked to help stop the creatures before the city is overwhelmed.

[attr="class","tamaflowersscroll"] It had been a few days since the floral mage had seen Jevi, they had gone to Sosshi to speak to the sole surviving merchant of a caravan that had been attacked by what they now knew to be minotaurs. It had been a turbulent meeting, to say the least. Junjie and Luli had spoke of the swordsman's swords and skills saying they were as vapid as a cloud. Jevi had accepted Junjie's offer to teach him and yet in that same conversation managed to make the usually calm man snap out. With the apology and explanation having been given Junjie told him he had used his first strike and Luli suggested he unlearn such behaviour before his first lesson. The young woman had no idea what caused him to act in such a manner. She apologised for their behaviour to which the white-haired male tried to use her own words against her. [break][break] She had to explain that it was more complex this time around as they were her servants and so an extension of her. She wasn't sure if he understood but he accepted the apology before they headed east where the merchant had directed them leaving the man to enjoy the drink Jevi had purchased for him. It had been quite a bit of a walk and Jevi had been stealing glances of her, she made a joke out of it showing she knew what he was doing, the truth was she was uncomfortable under his gaze. She didn't want anything to be complicated between them but it had already started like with the first time they were on a job together, unlike last time when he spilt out that he liked her, this time he commented on how gorgeous she was in her clothing and how beautiful she was. [break][break] Eventually, they had come across a ruined caravan and she was asked how she'd like him to handle the minotaurs. She said where she would rather they be spared for the safety of Sosshi they needed to perish. He also asked her about her stance as captain and she gave an answer that came down to the kingdom and its people came first but she had no intention of adding more pain, misery and death to the world. He seemed to accept that answer before quickly taking out both young minotaur that were near the destroyed caravan and cargo. She had told him to request any aid he needed but it was done in an instant after which believing there may be more that they should look around. They walked around for an hour in silence but came across nothing so believed it was a one-time thing and went their separate ways. [break][break] For a few days, there was nothing, but suddenly reports were pouring in from all around Sosshi that there were more Minotaur and unlike the last ones these were far larger and more aggressive. She moved to find the Golden Dawn's spacial mage Elenor Delothosin to help her get to Sosshi quickly, she also asked Elenor to request Jevi's assistance on this matter. As much as he didn't seem to understand her boundaries at current it seemed wrong for him not to see this task through to it's completion and so waited at the east gate of the village awaiting Jevi's arrival.

Kikka is a town known to be the defensive foot-hold for the Clover Kingdom, it is the town that sits in the grey area of what could be considered the noble region and the common region. It is due to this that there is a diverse range of people and backgrounds that called this place home. [break][break] A young fire mage found himself getting into trouble when he decided to steal some vegetables from a garden of jewellers. The mother of the family was the one that caught him and even told the boy and his mother that they just needed to ask due to them having more than enough. It was the beginning of a new bond between the family and the fire mage. [break][break] Over time the boy grew and where he was wanting to learn the next flashy fire move from the former purple orca. She would tell him that he needed to learn how to walk before he tried to run or those he cared about would get burned by those same flames that treasured so much. Of course, being young he didn't understand what she was getting at. [break][break] The woman's husband attempted to teach the street smart and somewhat rough male his craft. He, of course, got bored real quickly because crafting jewellery was a slow process that often was very detail orientated. Still, the man tried. On the day the fire mage was scheduled to leave Kikka for the exams the man called the young mage into his workshop. [break][break] He was just finishing up a double ring set and told him to put every wish and promise he could into a single flame and release it onto the ring. Somewhat sceptical the fire mage did what he was asked and thought it was for some sort of trinket for the woman that had helped him grow. The man placed the ring into a box and handed it to the budding mage. [break][break] "Valo, we see you as our son and we are proud to see the man you've grown into. You've helped create something that is unique and special, keep it with you and give it to someone that you believe deserves what you put into it." [break][break] The now young man gave bravado with his normal attitude but took the ring. He held onto it for three years until something terrible happened. The family that he had loved so much was taken from him. The one that had seen him at his most vulnerable and had helped him through the grief was a young woman. A woman who themselves couldn't fight due to their beliefs. [break][break] He remembered the ring from all those years ago and offered it to her, telling her if she was ever in danger just to call him and he'd come running.

A warm gift for Hinota Yuiee. After spending a few weeks away from the flower mage, Valo had crafted a beautiful bracelet as a gift for her. Anything Jevi did around Hinota seemed to be doomed to fail. Even when it came to her retainers, he did not come across the way they wanted him to. To Junjie and Luli, he had been showing a lack of fire and drive, but Jevi simply internalized their words and decided it was better to let it out at a later date, preferably during the training itself. The concept of silent waters running deep was one that applied to the elf, because their words definitely had affected him. There was just nothing he could do about it in this moment itself, because Hinota was already upset and if he made an even bigger deal about it then it would just make things worse. Even when he tried to reassure her that an apology wasn’t necessary, Hinota insisted on it and so he had no other choice than to accept her apology on behalf of Junjie and Luli. If it soothed her mind then he’d gladly let her get her apology in, and since he didn’t feel like he needed one it made it easy to accept.
[break][break]
From there the two went on with the mission. They spoke to the sole survivor and quickly were on their way to find some minotaurs near a broken down caravan. On the way there they had spoken on the behavior of the creatures, as well as the reason for them moving from their regular habitat. Along that, Jevi was asked not to steal glances of Hinota and to not compliment her on her beauty. He figured it must be another cultural difference, and simply accepted her request. There would be no more of that, and he’d just have to focus on other things than her. It was not easy, but there was plenty on his mind to distract him. The way Junjie and Luli spoke about him had cut deep, and it made him want to prove himself during this mission. He quickly dispatched both minotaurs they had found, showing his skill even though these two were young. It took no effort at all, and yet due to the words from the siblings he doubted his skills with the sword. The feeling was incredibly unwelcome, as this was the sole aspect of himself he had any confidence in before today. He was on the lookout for more creatures to test his skill against, but even after searching through the entire area they found nothing. It seemed the problem had been resolved.
[break][break]
So Jevi returned home just like Hinota did. There were little words exchanged between them, and Jevi excused himself by using Jasmine as his main excuse. The white mare had been waiting for him, so as Hinota would leave with her carriage and retainers, Jevi made his way to the stables. When he entered, Jasmine got loud and excited and the elf smiled at seeing her like that. He walked up to her, and upon her mane being stroked Jasmine calmed down. Jevi placed his right hand on the other side of her neck to stroke it and basically hug her, and pressed his face against the side of Jasmine’s head. There were slight tears in his eyes that he attempted to hide as he whispered softly to his horse. “Why do I keep messing everything up?” The tears began to run down his cheeks, but he made no sounds as he stifled his sobs. “Am I really just worthless…?” He whispered in a shaky voice, and Jasmine could sense the sadness within him. She remained still, letting him rest against her, only pressing her head against him more as a show of support. Jevi remained like this for a while before he pulled back and wiped his face clean with his sleeve. He gave Jasmine a smile, albeit forced. “I’ll just have to do better…with everything.” He needed to become stronger to ensure he could break free from his father completely and lead his family, and he needed to get over these feelings for Hinota so he could stop causing her pain and trouble.
[break][break]
Once he was home, Jevi took no time to rest. His mother tried to speak to him, though. “Welcome home, sweetie. How did it go? Do you want something to drink?” Jevi took off his magic knight mantle and coat, leaving him in the black shirt he wore underneath it that clung to his figure, over the looser black pants that were tucked into his dark brown leather boots. “I need to get back to training, mom. We found some minotaurs and we took them out, so I think everything was resolved.” Obviously he didn’t go into detail about Junjie and Luli disrespecting him, or the issues he had faced with Hinota once again. He didn’t want his mother to worry about those things, or impact the friendship she had formed with Hinota in any way. If she were to come around for tea, Jevi would just conveniently be out if need be. “I’ll be out till the sun’s down.” With that, he left, even though Saki called after him. “Without your coat?!” She sighed, her voice not having reached him anymore as he had left as quickly as he had returned. Saki knew something had happened, but also knew that forcing him to talk about it wouldn’t get her anywhere. Maybe the training could get it out of his system.
[break][break]
However, it didn’t. The following days were filled with sword training from sunrise till sunset, only occasionally coming into the estate to get something to eat and drink as he knew he couldn’t keep training on empty fumes. The Suru estate did not have a training ground, so he trained in the nearby forest practicing his swings time and time again till his arms were numb and his hands bled. The grip of his long sword was covered in blood stains due to it, but that didn’t stop him from continuing. It wasn’t till Elenor walked up to him after having visited his estate to inform him of what was happening in Sosshi. She had brought his magic knight mantle with him, and Jevi put it over his shirt and let Elenor teleport him to Sosshi’s east gate. There was no time to spare from the sounds of it, so he couldn’t freshen up and replace the bandages on his hands. That wasn’t going to stop him from doing what needed to be done, though. More minotaurs showing up gave him a chance to put his practice to the test, so when he saw Hinota waiting he stepped up over to her. “Is it clear where they are, and are the civilians of Sosshi safely within city limits?” Those were the only two things on his mind. He had learned his place in Hinota’s life, and he was going to force himself to accept it. He was grateful that she had gotten him involved again, though. “Thanks for sending Elenor by the way.” He’d say, as they’d make their way towards the minotaurs that were attacking now.

[attr="class","raescroll2"]
Jevi has done nothing but train the past couple of days, which shows in his bandaged hands and the fact he's not wearing his coat over his shirt as he came here in a hurry.
Due to the lunar year just passing, a craftsman in the town of Hage teaching a new class of apprentices decided to make it a class project. They were to make small trinkets out of oak that look like oxen as with all learners things didn't go as planned and they ended up making derpy looking oxen. The shopkeeper decided to buy everything as she found out that all the proceeds were going to help with the rebuilding of Kikka.[break]
Range & Speed: Not applicable[break]
Stats Affected: 25% junior buff to strength[break]
Description:[break]
The holder of this small trinket seems to hold the strength of an oxen allowing them to deal a bit more damage than is normal. Unlike normal items this item seems to grow in strength the stronger the bond it has with the owner much like a spirit or relic allowing this to be trained up to a grand ability. Once bought it is bound to the account it is on and can't be sold back to the store.
[attr="class","tamaflowersscroll"] Hinota remained still at the east gate of Sosshi, there was a lot on her mind. She was troubled but it wasn't exactly like she had anyone she could talk to about such things casually. She guessed she could speak to Jevi's mother but it felt odd to speak to his mother about his behaviour, how it made her feel, and the complex emotions that came along. "Perhaps I could ask Freyr..." she whispered to herself, they had gotten on quite well when they had gone through the Unseelie keep but she didn't feel like she was burdening him with such troubles, but he was male and from the west so perhaps he could explain things from that point of view. "I... I can do that once this issue is resolved, I... I'll send a request for an audience with him. I know he must be busy." she held her sleeves as she spoke she was so unsure. [break][break] She let go of her sleeves once she saw the portal opening, once Jevi had walked through she traditionally bowed "Good morning Lord Suru, I do apologise for the inconvenience but I thought you would want to see this through. I am glad tha-" she looked over to him over concern on her face as she quickly rushed over to him and delicately taking his bloody bandaged hands "What on earth happened to you? Don't tell me that their words affected you this much." the young woman was clearly distressed seeing him in such a state. She started to unwrap the bandages so she could just see how bad the injuries were "You realize that resting is just as important as the actual training right?!" she scolded him, he was as stubborn as Valo was because they both pushed further than they should. [break][break] "You know what they call a swordsman that can't hold his sword? Useless!" she was clearly angry at him but her eyes showed concerned, even if he attempted to pull his hands away her grip was firm "If you keep pushing like this you are going to be more of a liability to those around you than a help." she continued scolding him, it was clear she wasn't messing around with him. She was a healer by nature and that meant that she took the health and well-being of those around her seriously. She pushed his hands together and smiled "Do it again and I will leave you to suffer." she said as her hands glowed a soft warm white for a brief moment as they did he would find the injuries and pain would be gone. "One of the advantages of knowing someone with angelic magic." she said letting his hands go. [break][break] "With that sorted, yes they are in the east once more but they are larger both in size and number." she informed him "From what I can tell even though there are some injured no one has been killed but we need to take out this threat before that becomes a reality." she continued. "For now, the guards won't let the citizens of Sosshi outside of the village limits." she confirmed showing that they were indeed safe for now. "I thought you would want to see this through, besides, you'll never reach worthy hights to challenge captain Kasai if you don't get enough experience, after all, he is a highly respected man who has plenty of achievements and accolades under his belt and with the years of experience he has." she said smiling "Now, we best get going." she said with a quiet tone as she made her way east.

The moment Elenor had shown up in the forest near his estate to alarm him about what was happening at Sosshi, Jevi did not hesitate for a moment to come with her and to do his job as a Magic Knight. This had nothing to do with wanting to see Hinota again, far from it in fact as in the past couple of days he had been trying his best to move past the feelings he held for the woman. Though, he was not making much progress on that front as much as he tried to distract himself with his training. Regardless, he believed it to be a matter of time and nothing more, it simply had to be. When he saw her waiting for him at the east gate, he quickly made his way over to her and inquired about the situation, mostly showing his worry for the citizens of Sosshi before anything else. She greeted him, apologizing for the inconvenience when she noticed the bandages on his hands. It made her cut off her sentence, and Jevi’s eyes filled with guilt. He knew he had been pushing himself a bit too far, but what else was he supposed to do? He wanted growth, he wanted to prove Junjie wrong about his skills, and if he had not been so stagnant for the past three years then he wouldn’t have to work so much harder now.

It seemed that Hinota had no issue with recognizing that it had indeed been Junjie and Luli’s words that had gotten to him, and as much as she scolded him and raised her voice slightly, Jevi was just as hurt as she was about the situation. There was a light glare in his eyes as he bit back a bit. “Of course I know that, and what did you think their words were going to do to me?” The glare quickly faded as his eyes glossed over a bit, the clear signs of tears forming behind his eyes even though he held them back for now. “It’s the only thing I never doubted about myself…the only thing I applied myself to, even if it went with my father’s wishes. I-“ He bit his lip, the tears becoming harder to hold back. “I need to show them they’re wrong.” Maybe it was a foolish, selfish desire. Maybe they were right and he couldn’t even proof them wrong on what they thought about him. Even so, he couldn’t just stand down and take it, no matter how non-confrontational he was.
[break][break]
Of course, Hinota was right in scolding him. A swordsman who couldn’t even hold a sword was nothing but useless. Jevi looked down at their hands and whispered. “I know…I’m sorry.” There was no excuse. He was driven by his strong urge to prove himself and cast off these chains he had placed on himself to spite his father. Now he felt like he needed to play catch up, even though he realistically knew from the first time he met Hinota that he shouldn’t worry about it too much. And he hadn’t. Not until Junjie started insulting his skills like he did. Now he felt more pressure than ever before to perform and show that he wasn’t just a swordsman for show. Suddenly he felt Hinota’s magic at work, and the pain in his hands faded. The blisters and wounds disappeared, and it was an incredibly relieving feeling. He looked back up from their hands to meet Hinota’s gaze as she told him she’d leave him to suffer next time. “I’ll try to be more careful…” His voice was still soft, filled with guilt over making her worry like this. She mentioned having Angelic magic, something he wasn’t too familiar with, but it was quite something. “Thank you for healing me.” As she let go of his hands, he did the same, and with his hands fully healed they could focus on the mission at last.
[break][break]
Apparently, the minotaurs that had shown up this time were larger in size and showed up in a bigger group. While some of the people were injured, there were no casualties and the guards had kept the city on lockdown to ensure no civilians were going anywhere near these beasts. “That’s a relief.” Jevi let out a soft sigh, relaxing a bit now that the knew the people were safe for the most part. “Let’s head over there right away.” As they started to make their way over, Jevi thanked Hinota for sending Elenor to get him and she explained she figured that he’d want to see this whole thing through. After all, he needed the experience if he ever hoped to challenge captain Kasai, and Jevi nodded in agreement. “Thank you. I’ll work hard to become a man who is worthy of taking over his role.” It was clear that Jevi’s determination to become stronger had become more prevalent in his nature ever since Junjie’s taunts. No longer was he going to play second fiddle, or stay in the background where he believed he belonged. The world was going to know his name, and this was only the beginning of that story.
[break][break]
It didn’t take all that long before they reached the same area as where Jevi had previously fought the two smaller minotaur, and indeed the ones that were there now were both bigger in size and number just like the reports said. “This is exactly what I need…” Jevi mumbled to himself, as he stretched out his right hand and opened his palm which faced towards the ground. A slightly cold chill could be felt as an icy rune formed underneath his palm. When Jevi grabbed the rune, it materialized into a beautiful, silver rapier with only a couple of scratches on the thin blade. “Don’t worry, Lady Hinota, I’ll minimize the pain as much as I can.” Even in this moment, he remained aware of how Hinota felt about adding pain to the world, and he was going to do his best to not add more than necessary. He was a kind soul by nature himself, but in front of Hinota he'd be extra careful.
[break][break]
With the rapier in hand, Jevi pushed off towards the group of minotaurs, moving at a much faster pace than he had before. While the elf may have overdone his training in the past couple of days, it was clear it had not been for naught. The clear speed advantage in hand, the minotaurs saw their enemy approach and began to form a formation. They were more clever than the younger ones he had fought before, but as long as he remained nimble on his feet he could take them all on himself. Jevi hoped that Hinota would give him the chance to use this moment to put his training to the test, but if she were to help him out he wouldn’t complain to her about even though he knew Junjie would use it against him. “You left us no choice by coming here.” He didn’t like that they needed to be taken down, but there was no other way. He approached the group of six, now standing in a v-shaped formation as they rushed towards him too. Jevi had picked the rapier for this moment, and perhaps he’d change to the claymore when the numbers had dwindled down.
[break][break]
As he reached the group, Jevi took on the front of the minotaurs. The creature tried to slam its axe down, but Jevi quickly sidestepped and with the opening now presenting itself he stabbed straight into the minotaurs chest with such force that it sent the creature flying backwards significantly. It crashed directly into the two other minotaurs that had made up the left flank of their formation, making their organization already crumble down as one had been taken down immediately. Jevi then jumped back from an attack to his right side, and placed his left on the knuckleguard of the rapier to then thrust it forwards. The icy wisps on the blade turned to crystals, changing into a swirl of a hailstorm moving straightforward with the thrust taking out the front of the right three minotaurs. “Who’s next?” The elf held his rapier ready, having moved back enough to remain between the minotaurs and Hinota. If any of them tried to reach her, he’d be able to dash in and stop them before they could make it far enough. He’d pick them all off, one by one, and show that he was in fact a real swordsman.

(Combat) Summary
[break]
[attr="class","raescroll2"]
Jevi admits that Junjie and Luli’s words have gotten to him, but doesn’t fight Hinota’s scolding and apologizes.[break]
They go to the minotaurs and Jevi uses “Tysde Velve” to summon his rapier (going to 22 m/s speed), taking out one minotaur and slamming it into two others with his knockback (44 meters).[break]
He then evades another slash attempt at him and uses “Vin’Ult Maral” to take out another minotaur, keeping himself positioned between the remaining four and Hinota.[break]
Applicable Perks: Apex Predator, Battle Knight, Full Blitz, Knockback[break]
Description:[break]
Stretching out the right arm and opening the palm facing it towards the earth, an icy rune is created just underneath the palm. When the rune is grabbed, a rapier appears that is 41 inches (104 cm) in length. The grip is adorned with a knuckle guard, and the blade itself is single-edged, leaving one blunt side as well as a sharply pointed tip. The rapier is made out of silver, having a couple of notches on the blunt side of the blade. Icy wisps adorn the blade, and when it hits it will leave the target with frostbite. Due to the magical backing there is also knockback of 4 meter plus another 5 meters for every 10 power the wielder has. Every hit deals Intermediate damage.
By placing the left hand on the knuckle guard of the rapier and then thrusting it forwards with the right hand, the wielder of the rapier can create a miniature hailstorm as the icy wisps turn into ice crystals and swirl forwards with the thrust. This swirl moves straight ahead with the thrust and is 6 meters wide. Those caught in it will experience frostbite. This deals Intermediate damage.
[attr="class","tamaflowersscroll"] The floral mage sighed to him when he confirmed it was indeed her retainers that had caused him to push himself to such lengths. "You are one of the smartest fools I've ever met Lord Suru." she said as she shook her head "You doing this is proving them right." she explained as she used her magics ability to naturally heal his hurt hands. "I'm not a combatant but even I know that practising form for hours on end is only going to make you far more sloppy as you end up going into your own head or become tunnel visioned to a pinpoint." she said taking her hands away soon after "Swordsmanship requires patience and understanding." she explained with a quiet tone. She understood what they were doing and though harsh it was required, she didn't say anything as it could undo any progress being made for his future. [break][break] Hearing his words and noticing the tone she bowed low to him "Please forgive me for not being considerate of your feelings, I will make sure they are punished for causing you distress when I get home." She spoke quickly, her passive nature being shown in her tone and her quickness to correct the situation so that he wouldn't be angry at her or upset at them. She was trying hard not to allow her voice to quiver or show that she was shaking a little. It was different when it happened from someone who was just her colleague but they had spent personal time together. "I will also ensure to have another guard accompany me if we are to work together or if your mother requests me to visit." to be honest she was thinking of declining now due to this whole ordeal, it would just be safer for everyone. [break][break] "You don't have anything to prove to anyone but yourself and from this moment forward you will never need to interact with either." she said still bowed, once she had spoken these words she stood up, her eyes glistening a little. She shook her head "You have no reason to be sorry, I should have stopped them before it got this far, it is a failure on my part and I am the one that should be apologising to you." she said with a whisper, she felt so terrible over this situation but there wasn't a lot that she could do about it at current. She could only nod as he said he would try to be more careful in the future, she didn't believe he would given how hard he appeared to be training constantly without a break. She knew if he continued on this path he would likely lose use of his hands for a good long while. [break][break] "There's no need to thank me, it's the least I can do since my servants caused it." she said her voice soft. She nodded after he noted it was a relief that none of the citizens of Sosshi had been harmed, she had to agree on this as it could have been far worse but it was something that still needed to be taken care of. She nodded and walked in the direction of where they had previously found the caravan. When they got there the wreckage had been cleared so it was plain to see that after they had been last there everything that had been lost had been reclaimed by the rightful owner. "That is a tall order and some big shoes to fill." she said hearing how the other would do his best to be a man worthy of taking over as the Crimson Lion captain. [break][break] She noticed his determination and how certain mannerisms had changed since Junjie first started to taunt him and had to wonder if he, himself had noticed the difference. Once they saw the larger minotaur she looked at Jevi as he spoke her eyes showing disappointment 'He's just like the others isn't he.' she thought to herself, she wanted to say something but remained quiet as it would just cause discourse as far as she was concerned. Hearing him say that she needn't worry that he would make sure to minimize the pain of the creatures meant little to her thanks to what he had just previously said. She couldn't believe he lacked that much self-awareness. "It matters not as you have shown who you are already." she wouldn't explain what she meant hoping he was smart enough to understand why she was being so cold currently. [break][break] She remained still as he dashed off and held her sleeves, she would wait for him to request her aid but she was doubtful that it would come as he needed something like this. "Pathetic." she whispered to herself watching as he fought the minotaurs in front of him. He had activated the spell on his sword which increased his speed allowing him to take out one and injure two others. She couldn't help right not but his way of thinking was bound to get him hurt, she didn't want to be there when it happened but she would feel guilty if she wasn't there to help due to his current reckless way of thinking. It was... complicated...

Jevi knew what he had been doing was counter-productive to say the least, but he could not help himself from doing it anyway. There was a lot that he could take, but the disrespect shown to his skills as a swordsman made him redo every bit of training he had ever had in order to ensure that that was not the case. He was a skilled swordsman, and the moment he’d get to train with Junjie he wanted to prove that to the man as well. Jevi blinked when Hinota called him the smartest fool she had ever met, and claiming that him doing exactly this was proving them right. It took a second for the words to sink in, but when they did he looked to the side in shame. He did not comment on it, however, but to someone like Hinota it would be clear that her words had reached him. Somehow they always did. Most other people would be met with either counter arguments or him simply ignoring their remarks, but when it came to Hinota he found himself always listening to the meaning behind her words. Perhaps it’s because she had helped him so much in accepting a part of himself that he had wanted to embrace for so long, but never could. She finished her healing and comment by saying that swordsmanship required patience and understanding, and Jevi sighed softly in acknowledgment. “My emotions got the better of me. I’ll work on that.” The words were sincere, as he knew that this was his biggest pitfall. He didn’t show it to most people, just like how he had not shown Junjie and Luli how they had gotten under his skin, but he felt comfortable and safe enough to show this side to Hinota; for better and worse.
[break][break]
The one thing Jevi did not understand was how Hinota herself had not realized the words had gotten to him, considering she usually saw right through him in an instant. However, it seemed his tone of voice had been a bit too harsh, and caused her to feel remorse for what had happened. He didn’t want her to feel hurt or upset, because it wasn’t her fault, yet because they were her retainers she believed it was on her. That was part of her culture, and he had learned that lesson from last time. Though her wanting to punish them was a step too far, and yet it was a situation that he needed to delicately move through. “Lady Hinota, if I may. Could their punishment be to give me the training Junjie has promised? Until I am an excellent swordsman in his eyes, that is.” When she mentioned that she’d get another guard to accompany her whenever she’d visit his mother for tea, Jevi could not help but smile softly at her. “I do not believe there is a guard more suited to protect you, Lady Hinota. Besides, my mother seems to have taken quite a liking to him, so it would sadden her if you did not bring him around, you know?” He sighed softly, hoping that he had found a way around the minefield that were her traditions and culture. “Even I have grown fond of him, regardless of his comments on my swordsmanship I still enjoy his company. Not seeing him anymore would also be a punishment for me, in a way.” Jevi bowed to her, his right hand over his heart and his voice soft. “However, the final decision is up to you.”
[break][break]
If anything, Jevi was quick to adapt, and he had tried his best to learn what he could from his encounters with Hinota in order to not hurt her by saying and doing the wrong things. Hinota mentioned how he didn’t have anything to prove to anyone but himself, and from now on that’s all the people he’d need to contend with. He said nothing about it, merely giving a nod before he apologized. The fact he had made her worried was enough for him to feel remorse, because he did not want to be a person who added to her stress, pain and sorrows. Quite the opposite, in fact, as he was attempting to become a person she could rely on. “I had already accepted your apology the other day, remember? I hold no grudge towards you or your retainers, the apology has been accepted.” Obviously, he also thanked her for healing him, and she merely saw it as her duty considering her retainers were the cause. Jevi didn’t agree, as he had chosen to train like this, but he knew that arguing with her about it would not get him anywhere. “Still, I have been taught to show my gratitude regardless.” Hinota knew his mother, and she knew that this much about his upbringing had to be true considering how the woman was and how much Jevi took after her in a lot of ways.
[break][break]
As they made their way over to where the minotaurs were supposed to be, they spoke of his goal to become the captain of the Crimson Lions. Jevi wanted to become a man who was worthy of following into the current captain’s footsteps, and Hinota was right when she said that was a tall order and big shoes to fill. “I’m well-aware, but I refuse to give up no matter how long it will take me.” Reaching the minotaurs, Jevi was glad to have a chance to put his skills into practice. Practicing his form was all well and good, but he needed to put them to use in practical situations too. These minotaurs would be a good training session for that reason, as he conjured up his rapier and overheard Hinota’s remark that him choosing to limit their pain mattered not, because he had shown who he was already. Jevi quizzically tilted his head at those words, not understanding what she meant. Normally he was quick on the uptake, but this time he couldn’t place those words. Well, there was no time to ask about it either as the minotaurs had seen them already and the fight was about to begin. With Hinota refusing to put more pain into the world, Jevi would have to do this on his own, which is something he preferred right now. If he ended up in a bad situation then he’d ask for her help, but hopefully it wouldn’t come to that.
[break][break]
While he fought off the minotaurs, the words Hinota shared with him echoed through his head. She had spoken them so coldly right after he mentioned she needed this. Did she perhaps believe he was going to hurt the minotaurs more than he had to? No, that made no sense. It had to be something else. He hit the first minotaur with his rapier, pushing two others away with the knockback before quickly moving to avoid one other minotaur’s swing and then unleashed his rapier’s magic. That was two down, as he fell back to let the mana recharge into his rapier and he could go for round two. As he did so, the words echoed once again. He had shown who he was? Did she see him as power hungry? As someone who would fight with reckless abandon? He frowned, letting out a sigh. No matter what he did, no matter what he said, each and every time he managed to fuck things up between himself and Hinota. There was so much friction between the two of them, and at the same time there seemed to be a magnetic pull as well that kept them coming back to each other. He really needed someone to talk to about all of this, because he was just so lost in navigating this entire friendship.
[break][break]
Now that he had taken the moment to charge up his rapier, Jevi engaged the two minotaurs closest to him again, first unleashing another hail storm from his rapier once he put his left hand on the knuckle guard and thrusted it forward. The ice crystals were enough to take it down, before he once more rushed in and danced around the other minotaur’s attempted hits. His speed was too much for them to handle, and as the opening presented itself Jevi slashed at its midsection and with the resulting frostbite it too fell to the ground. Meanwhile, the other two minotaurs were a slight distance away. “I don’t want to draw this out any longer.” He mumbled under his breath, dispelling the rapier before he moved his hands over his left shoulder. The left hand was placed above the right one as he made a grabbing motion and a claymore appeared from his back as if it had been there all along. However, this blade wasn’t covered in the familiar icy wisps. Instead it was glowing a bright blue, his own aura wrapping around the blade.
[break][break]
As the two minotaurs charged at him, Jevi focused himself and exhaled a deep breath. “Just like Synthia taught you. Focus your emotions-“ He gripped his claymore tightly, turning the blade and moving it to make an upwards slash as his eyes showed his determination. “And put them all into a single strike.” He unleashed a crescent moon shaped blade of his aura, which quickly moved towards the minotaur in the front of the two. Once it connected with the creature, the aura expanded and burst causing concussive force which did enough damage to take out the fifth minotaur. Now there was only one left, and Jevi readjusted the claymore before meeting its charge. Even though his speed had minimally decreased, he was still much faster regardless of the bigger sword. With swift movements, he moved the claymore and slashed down towards the minotaur which put its shield in the way to block it. For a second that worked, until Jevi put all his strength into it and managed to push the minotaur’s defense away only to then slash it across its chest and taking it out too. The blue glow on the claymore faded, signifying it needed to recharge, but Jevi dispelled it as it was no longer needed. He stood in the midst of the battlefield, processing the emotions he felt. This hadn’t helped him at all. This was no test of his skills.
[break][break]
A dejected sigh left his lips, before he turned to look over at Hinota and made his way over to her. This threat had been dealt with, but there still had to be a source of these minotaurs acting up in Jevi’s opinion. What was he even supposed to say to her now? She believed him to be power hungry and reckless, and even if he were to try and deny it she would likely not believe him either way. There was a knot in his stomach, as he just didn’t know how to approach the current situation. All he could do was focus on the professional part of this mission, leaving out anything else such as making sure the minotaurs suffered as little pain as possible. “We may have to investigate the surrounding area once more, see if there’s more clues this time. I don’t want to leave this area again until we are certain that it’s safe.” Those were his honest thoughts on the matter. The people of Sosshi deserved better, and he’d even stay over in the city’s inn if he needed to just to ensure he’d be here should more minotaurs show up. “What do you want to do, Lady Hinota?” If she wished to go back home, she could, and he’d stay here and figure things out himself. Right now he could only imagine she wanted to keep her distance from him, and he was still surprised that somehow she kept in touch and kept him involved. She said it was to help him improve, or to let him see things through, but right now he wasn’t sure what to believe anymore. Before he’d jump to conclusions, he’d need to seek out help from someone who knew her culture through and through. That was the only way he could get some peace of mind on the state of the relationship as it was. [break][break] [Exit]

Jevi uses his rapier and claymore to take out the remaining minotaurs.[break]
This deals Intermediate damage.[break][break]
Applicable Perks: Apex Predator, Battle Knight, Full Blitz, Knockback[break]
Description:[break]
Using both hands to reach over the left shoulder, with the left hand positioned above the right hand and making a grabbing motion where the index finger connects with the thumb, a claymore will materialize as if it had been worn on the back the entire time. The claymore is made out of steel and has various scratches across the blade itself. It’s 55 inches (140 cm) in overall length, of which the grip itself is 13 inches (33 cm) to comfortably place both hands. The weight is approximately 5.5 pounds (2.5 kg). The grip is adorned with leather and the claymore has a cross guard to protect the hands of the wielder. Additionally, the claymore is covered in a pure, blue glow that seems to have wrapped itself neatly around the blade. This allows the sword to have magical backing, resulting in knockback when hitting someone for 4 meter plus 5 more meter for every 10 power the wielder has. Every hit deals Intermediate damage.
By making an upward slashing motion, the wielder of the claymore can unleash the pure aura that is concentrated on the blade in the form of a crescent moon. This pure aura is sharp like the sword, and when it connects with its target it expands and bursts resulting into a blast of concussive force. This deals Intermediate damage.[break]
[attr="class","tamaflowersscroll"] She couldn't help but see what Jevi had been doing to himself as counterproductive, she could understand his frustration to an extent but going until hurting one's self was never the way. She had done it when it came to music and dancing, she was expected to perfect everything so quickly given her lineage. She pushed herself far beyond her limits playing until her hands hurt and bled, she danced until she hurt her arms, legs and back to the point of collapse, it was why she kept telling these idiotic fighters that resting was just as important as training but none of them would listen to her on the matter and yet they expected people like her to heal the aftermath just to be told that they were fine. It was frustrating, to say the least. When she called him the smartest fool she had met it seemed as if he accepted her words as fact. [break][break] she watched him look to the side in shame "There's no reason to feel ashamed, we all make mistakes its how we learn from them that matters." she said poking his forehead. "You need to stop keeping your emotions on your sleeve and letting them be the thing that guide you." she said bringing her hand back "If you become overly emotional then you could end up making a mistake that can't be undone." she said to him concern heard in her tone "Even I've learned to compartmentalize as a lot of the higher end tasks a magic knight can be assigned need you not to be emotional." she said with a weak smile "It means that I can focus on the task at hand and when I am home I can let all that emotion out without being overly affected by it." she told him. [break][break] She wanted to help him understand "Your captain is a good man but at times he can let his emotions rule him, but, I guess that is why Salamander chose him to create a bond with." she said with a smile helping him understand there was a time and place for things but even their job required masks from time to time. The floral mage had seen exactly how it affected him from his own estate, more so when they met again at Sosshi the first time. She had attempted to do damage control but she had failed especially when he had said it wasn't needed as she hadn't done the insulting. The issue was it wasn't the same as when they were on the Suru estate. She had insulted his father and they were on equal footing as nobles but in the east, she was considered responsible for her retainer's actions. [break][break] It hadn't just been the tone of voice that got him, it was the glare that had come with it. It reminded her so much of her father and brothers when they were angry at her for whatever reason. She held her sleeves and listened to him, she didn't want to punish Junjie or Luli but it was clear that Jevi truly felt insulted by their actions. She shook her head "I have given my word you will not need to interact with them again and I will keep to it." her voice was soft as she spoke "I will make sure that the punishment fits the crime." she was holding back tears, even when she spoke her voice trembled showing this was difficult for her but she would see it through. "Junjie has been my bodyguard since he was five." she explained, obviously he was shadowed by a mentor who taught him while tending to her. [break][break] She shook her head "I will keep to my word, I will apologise to your mother if it is brought up." it was clear she wouldn't change her mind on the matter. Her servants had caused Jevi dismay and so she would prevent it from happening going forward. She was actually thinking of not attending more invites with his mother due to this issue, it would just be awkward for her and she didn't want to cause any discourse within his family over her or her servants. "I highly doubt that." she said simply her hands going to her sleeves and holding them once more. "My word stands, I will not allow harm to continue when I can stop it." it was as simple as that for the young woman. [break][break] "But that was before all of this Lord Suru." she said quietly, she shook her head a little gripping her sleeves harder, her nails had gone through the fabric and were biting into the soft flesh below. She could feel the pain and the light trickle of blood but didn't react to it. "I am truly apologetic for the pain and suffering their words caused. I... I should have done better." she said softly she wanted to cry, everything was so complicated, and she currently wondered if she just go back into her cage and close the door and throw the key away, her life there was simple it all made sense to her. Hearing he had been taught to show his gratitude regardless she nodded "You are welcome Lord Suru." she whispered as they walked towards their destination, she was silent the entire time until Jevi spoke. "I wasn't saying it to discourage you." she said quietly. [break][break] As they reached the minotaurs Jevi spoke about how he would make it as painless as possible and she replied it didn't matter because he had shown himself for who he was. She was unsure if he realized she heard his words. He could tell that he was confused by her statement but didn't say anything. She was quite sure he would eventually work it out on his own. He moved and quickly dealt with the problem at hand taking out a minotaur with a rapier while knocking two back while avoiding the axes of others. He watched as the ability of the sword went off again and caused another to fall. She closed her eyes and covered her ears she didn't want to see or hear it, the terrible feeling was bubbling again deep within her 'Stay asleep, please stay asleep.' she begged whatever this feeling was. [break][break] Eventually the muffled noises stopped and she brought down her hands, small blood patches seen around her ears that could be easily missed. She watched as he approached "Like before we should look around to see if we can find any others or where they are coming from." she said her voice gentle but the smile was gone from her face she looked forlorn. She started to walk once more around the area, her feelings and mind now both confused but she was sure that eventually things would settle. [break][break] [exit]
