Elves are blessed by mana. It is a fact that everyone knows. Since elves are drawn to places with strong mana, that was why Suna Hoshi was here. She did not know exactly why, but mana called out to her, and she gladly replied.
The white and azure folds of her clothing flowed gaily behind her as she walked--no, skipped along the path towards the area known as Aristaeus’ Basin. This is the elf’s first time stepping foot in this part of the region. Her experiences at the Forsaken Region has always been eventful, and despite her usual passive approach to life, she has gradually come to look forward to these little adventures. Living the Outer Forest was slightly dull at times, especially since she was not the type to seek out social gatherings. Nay, she much preferred practicing her musical instruments over making idle chatter with those witches.
Those sister witches. ‘Sisters’ indeed. At the thought of those in her community, her cheerful light blue aura darkened, streaked with feelings of past hurts. Her childhood was all right, but once she blossomed into womanhood and received her gold grimoire, she became the object of envy among her peers. Suna sighed. She did not want to think about those shallow people though. Not today. She forcefully pushed them out of her mind. It was a beautiful day, and she was going to enjoy herself and explore a bit.
Aristaeus’ Basin unfolded before her. It was truly a basin as the name suggested, and was a whole new world. She had felt the tug of mana long before her eyes saw anything, but now she feasted her eyes on the gorgeous scenery before her. From the corner of her eye, she saw a flash of white fur. Hmm… A few minutes later, she saw a white creature by the side of the path she was on. It had gone completely still upon noticing her presence, and Suna slowly bent down to sit on her heels. Eye to eye, the creature and elf had a little staring contest. The rabbit broke its gaze away first, and dived into the thick undergrowth and away from sight.
Suna straightened back up. The overwhelming feeling of such strong mana was amazing, and she could feel her elvish heritage crying out in joy at its abundance. She wanted to use some of her powers here. Just a little. Just to test things out.
She hummed middle C. As soon as the pitch hit exactly 262hz, her Celtic harp materialized in front of her. She reached out and grasped it, feeling the familiar feeling of worn and polished wood. It had been with her for a long, long time, much like a dear friend. In fact, her musical instruments were probably the only ones she could call as true friends. Which was sad, in a way, as they are inanimate objects and not living people, but Suna considered them a part of her. She was sure that swordsmen would consider their swords a part of them, and felt likewise about her instruments.
To her left, there was a rustle. Suna immediately swept her fingers through the strings and started a slow and graceful melody, inviting the creature to show itself. The gray furry head poked out, curious at the music it was hearing. Her left hand tampered with the strings, muffling some of the notes. This was her Music Technique: Ritenuto (Piano). As she did so, the sound spilled out from the instrument and flowed towards the creature, who had stepped out completely and was some sort of canine. The music spread and circled underneath its feet, and her aura slowly flowed upwards and wrapped itself around the legs, restraining it. Too late, the wolf growled and tried to jump back, but her restraining spell slowed the struggling creature's movements.
And now, let’s see what the mana here tastes like... Suna’s restraining spell started to glow as her Vampiric Magic took effect. Her azure eyes were half-closed as she drank in the creature’s mana. It was different from the mana she was used to. This was more wild, more natural. There was also a hint of sweetness as well.
A nearby geyser suddenly erupted nearby, breaking Suna’s concentration. Her spell was also broken, and the wolf, suddenly loosed, gave a yelp and high-tailed out of there. She let it go. She was interested in only the mana, after all, not in killing. ”Mmm, that tasted good. New, but good.”

Music Technique: Ritenuto (Piano) - cast on NPC, -10 mana
Once per post, a single spell (cast by the wielder of this perk) that comes into contact with magical targets may siphon mana from up to 2 of those in contact with the spell. If more than 2 targets are in contact, then who is siphoned is up to the caster. These can be NPCs and magical creatures as well as players, regardless of if they have a mana pool or not, however, it will not work on your own creations/golems. You will sap a total of 5 mana [+5 mana per target's rank above junior] from each of of the 2 targets, and restore your own mana for an equal amount. At grand rank, this may be used twice, by casting two different spells. This perk does not have to be included in the spell itself to be utilized.

Fuu found herself in the Forsaken Region, an area of the kingdom she does not hang around much at due to the lack of wealthy pockets to stick from unless here for a job. She had on her usual green robes and her feet were bare, lacking any form of protection. She does not dislike the idea of shoes or wearing them, but rather she very much enjoys the feeling of the earth under her due to its connection with her magic. The dwarf sat upon a branch sturdy enough for her wait, kicking her feet in the air as she looked up towards the sky. She silently watched some birds pass by with a small smile. Most people who know Fuu have only seen her tough exterior and fight happy attitude, but she also has her soft spots which she tries to not show to anyone. This usually manifests when the girl is around nature like forests which is something Fuu found herself exploring a lot of especially during her youth. There was a certain sense of peace that came to places like these that set Fuu's or mountains mind at ease.
The girl hummed quietly to herself as her pale eyes wandered around the area, observing every little thing in her view before her eyes set on the girl's swinging legs. Fuu felt more at home in places like this instead of with her parents. The earth mage does not hate her folks and her folks do not hate her, but they are disappointed in what she has became. They wanted their little girl to grow up to become a successful merchant, and trader like them and the majority of the Wilhelms, but instead she is taking a path more rebellious. What her parents see as dangerous, Fuu sees it as true freedom, getting to be whatever the hell she wants to be. The only thing her parents do agree on in some capacity is her becoming a magic knight, but they would've much preferred her to become a Purple Orca as they were more aligned with their House's way of thinking than the other squads....especially Green Mantis. Still, Fuu wasn't going to let any of that bother her....at least not on the outside.
Still humming a bit, Fuu would slowly stop as she heard the yelping of some animal draw closer. Looking down, she'd notice what appear to be some canine running past as if it were trying to get away from something. The girl's swinging legs slowed down as she turned her head in the direction of where it ran from. "Hmm." Whatever was scary enough to make that beast run off certainly struck Fuu's curiosity. A small grin developed on her face as she thought about what it could potentially be. She was more interested in fighting whatever it was however, wanting to test her strength and assert her dominance. Despite her love of nature, Fuu was not above fighting in such locations.
With that, the dwarf jumped down and started making her way to where the beast ran from. After a small bit of walking, and maneuvering around downed branches and other obstacles, Fuu came across the culprit. "Huh...Hey, lady...?" She squinted her eyes at the blue woman as she continued to approach her until she was within her personal space, looking up at the taller person with her hands on her own hips, and head tilted a little as if she were silently thinking about something. "Haven't I...seen you somewhere before?" Fuu questioned, failing to remember that she met this woman back at Raque. She then focused on her ears. An elf...just like Artemis.

Aristaeus’ basin a part located inside the Forsaken Region that was the closest to the Heart Kingdom, a rather large place with a big ecosystem, it was place far away from the Black Bulls Headquarters. A place not a lot of people went for several reasons, one of them was the wildlife that lived there. They usually possessed rare types of magic or a higher concentration of mana.
Charles was here for one reason only, to look for a plant that will help with Captain Malcolm's hangover, as he wasn't able to find any of those in the supermarket he was told to head all the way here to look for those as they were apparently found at the Aristaeus' basin. He didn't come all the way here for a noble reason, quite the opposite actually. He was yelled by his Captain to go look for them, as he got sick from drinking too much alcohol and wasn't in the condition to go out and look for it himself. The reason why he forced Charles to go was nothing new, he was slacking off too much in the Headquarters and wanted him to do something more useful aside from just being in the base. As for Charles, he was someone who will rather spend a good amount of his time in the base sleeping or doing something else in his room.
As he walked around the basin, he was mostly clueless about where to go, but he was given a brief description of the appearance of the plant he was looking for. Despite being a poor sensory mage the area around him surely felt different from being in the city or any other forest, he was able to feel a higher concentration of mana compared to other places in the Forsaken Region. Before coming here he was also told to watch out for any wild animals, as some of them tend to be hostile. This wasn't a problem for a Magic Knight for Charles for the most part, aside from the part that fighting animals just to look for a plant was a pain in the ass.
Not having a clue where he was going and probably lost for the most part. He found a small black-haired female and blue-haired female on his way there. He looked at the two of them who, his attention focusing on the blue-haired female and her pointy ears, it didn't take long for him to realize she was an elf, he had encountered an elf before and she was uh very friendly to see the least. She was also someone he will prefer not to work with ever again, mainly due to her way of doing things and acting. Charles wasn't the type of person to care a lot about other people's actions most of the time, but her actions were certainly disgusting and disturbing to him.
Though, the two people in front of him didn't appear hostile at all, at the end of the day he was here to get a plant and head back to the base. If he was lucky may one of them knew the place around and will probably help locate the plant he was looking for and make his day a little easier. Charles walked up in front of them in a very casual matter, not showing any sort of imposing figure. "Yeah, uh. Hello, my bad if I'm interrupting something, but do you think you two could help me looking for something?" Charles spoke in a monotonous manner, his voice not showing a lot of emotion and will probably make the two people in front of him that he was tired, which wasn't the case. This was his usual way of talking. The most notable thing in his entire outfit was his Black Bull Mantle, which symbolized he was part of the Magic Knights.

Mmm, I’ll have to get more of this while I’m here today. Suna threw back her head and closed her eyes, her whole body completely relaxed. She was so engrossed in feeling the waves of mana washing over her, she did not realize someone was right up next to her until it spoke.
"Huh...Hey, lady...?"
Her head swung around towards the voice. "Wha-" The speaker was standing right next to her. "Oh!" She jumped back a little. Dumb for letting her guard down. She studied the dwarf, who had on a green robe. "Oh, hello." She certainly did not expect to see a Green Mantis here. She always thought they hung around more populated places. This place was almost completely devoid of humans, so why was one here?
"Haven't I...seen you somewhere before?"
Suna cocked her head. "Huh?" Upon closer inspection, the Magic Knight did seem familiar. But where? Hmm… Oh! She remembered now. "’Rowdy Princess’? From that cafe?" Ah yes, she remembers now. The happy-go-lucky royal in the Green Mantis. It was quite an encounter, that time. Who was that other girl at the meeting? Oh right, Saki. That certainly was an interesting event.
"What are you doing here? On a mission? Or are you looking for something?" Wild guess. Suna honestly had no idea what the dwarf would be looking for...although the latter was certainly looking at something. The elf almost rolled her eyes when she realized that her ears were under inspection, but did not want to seem offended.
"Surely I’m not the first elf you’ve seen," she quipped lightly. Honestly, what was the big deal with being an elf? What is with all the fascination? It was something she has yet to understand.
"Yeah, uh. Hello, my bad if I'm interrupting something, but do you think you two could help me looking for something?"
Suna straightened herself up, quickly composing herself and schooling her facial expressions. And she dared to call herself an observant person? Apparently not today. She really should be embarrassed of herself. The one addressing was a Magic Knight - a Black Bull, according to the color of his robe. She had not been out of the Forest for long, so she did not really know much about the Magic Knights and their general personality types. What better time to gather information?
"Hello there," she called back politely. "This is my first time here, but what are you looking for?" At least he did not seem aggressive, only direct. No needless parables or introductions. Sure, she could work with that.

The earth mage's eyes beamed at sound of hearing someone refer to the girl by her self given title again! This time, Fuu was able to conceal her grin as she was more focused on the woman. "Hmm, yeah that's me alright. Nice to know that word's getting around." Fuu added, crossing her arms confidentially. "But you have to be more specific, lady. I've been to a lot of cafes...and kicked outta half of em." Fuu said, mumbling the last part. "I was just out here...training...ya know." Fuu claimed with a shrug, her eyes shifting to the side as her cheeks lit up in a hue of red out of embarrassment. She didn't want anyone, even people she barely or didn't know that she was out here nature and bird watching. The girl didn't want to look like a softy, and felt that these little hobbies of hers were the definition of soft! Still, Fuu loves to do these things. This was pretty much her version of a guilty pleasure that she was a shame of letting others find out.
Her attention then went back to the blue haired one's pointy ears. She wouldn't stop staring until the woman spoke up, making the girl realize that she was staring. "Eh nah. They just..." Fuu wanted to say that they remind her of another elf she knows, but quickly shook her head and dismissed the thought. "They're just pointy...is all. Heh, you can poke an eye out with those things." Fuu added as she snickered, folding her arms behind the back of her head. Fuu wasn't exactly the most gentle of people, even with her words.
Before anything else could be said, Fuu turned her head to a newcomer as he spoke. The dwarf silently observed this guy who appeared to be about the same age as her. What she quickly took note of was his magic knight robe holding the symbol of the Black Bulls. The girl scoffed a little. She didn't care much for the Black Bulls, believing them to be a group who just picks up rejects even if they are now regarded as an elite squad. Back during the exams, only two knight squads rose their hands for Fuu. The Green Mantises, and Black Bulls. She really wanted to join the Crimson Lions, and felt hurt when only those two squads wanted her, but she felt completely insulted by the sight of the Black Bulls, believing that she would be a reject, a weakling if she went with them. Not wanting to at first, Fuu decided upon going with the Mantises which she eventually warmed up to. Whether she believes it or not, the Green Mantises are more up her ally than the lions ever would've been.
"Tch, I'm surprised they let one of you pansies out here on your own without someone to hold your hand." Fuu said rather bluntly before shifting her attention away from the two. This jab was ironic considering Fuu needed someone to accompany or rather watch over her during a junior mission...

Charles looked at the two of them, the Magic Knight seemed like a weakling, it seemed so much that you will probably be able to defeat him. Looking at the blue-haired elf who seemed to willing and nice enough to help him out with his findings. "I'm looking for a plant.. Apparently it's good for hangovers." He leaned on a nearby tree and sighed, trying to get some rest after coming all the way here. "And no, its not for me. Apparently it's blue in color and I was told it usually grows around here. It shouldn't be hard to recognize once found." Coming all the way here was tiring for him all because they didn't have any of this in the market. Hopefully, with the help of the blue-haired elf here who seemed more willing to help him out, it will make the search much easier. Compared to the only other elf he has met this one appeared more polite and nice. One of the reasons why she was much nicer was probably because she wasn't a Noble, or at least that's the first impression he received.
His attention was then shifted the small dwarf with a Green Robe with the symbol of the Green Mantis. He was able to tell that she was obviously insulting him, more specifically because he was a Black Bull, it wasn't the first time he has been insulted for being a Black Bull after all the Black Bulls were known as a squad of misfits that weren't wanted in other squads. Charles wasn't any different he was a misfit just like them in his own way. His laziness was the most notable thing out of his personality. The Black Bulls, in general, weren't as bad as people usually said they were, it was more like an exaggeration. "No one needs to hold my hand, but I will rather not be here if I had an option." He replied, his voice. The young magic knight wasn't bothered by the remarks made by the Green Mantis, after all, it's not like their squad was any better than theirs nor did he had a reason to really care about what she said. The way she was acting made him believe she was noble, if he was right about this it wouldn't shock him at all. A majority of nobles were usually the same arrogant, cocky, prideful, the list keeps going. He knew some good nobles, but they were very few a good example was the Captain of the Golden Dawn who had the chance to meet, he was quite a nice guy, unexpected, but certainly enjoyed his time with him.
Based off on his first interaction with the female dwarf he encountered Charles was already determining possible outcomes and reactions. Something not many people knew, not even Charles himself was aware of was that he usually managed to determine a lot of things about people despite his usual lazy attitude. He just hoped he didn't have to spend most of his time listening to a short-tempered small female about whatever issue she had. He just wanted to get the plant he was looking for and head back to the base.

Suna cocked her head at the Green Mantis. "I believe you were celebrating your first stars from a mission? You were a regular at the cafe, but I don’t remember the name of the cafe though." She shrugged. Not that it really mattered. "Sorry, but I forgot your actual name," she apologized. "Was it Lu or Hue or something like that?"
Suna readily accepted the dwarf’s explanation of training here. It certainly was a feasible excuse, although the reddening face said otherwise. Still, the elf was not about to pry. She had no reason to be here either. She simply followed the mana’s calling. That was it.
"They're just pointy...is all. Heh, you can poke an eye out with those things."
For once, the elf let her laughter ring out. "I suppose so," Suna reached up and touched her ears. "They’re soft though, and I’m sure your eyes are stronger than these ears." She used to hate her ears, as it always drew attention. This was the first time thinking of her ears as a weapon, thanks to this little earth mage. She honestly thought it was funny, and not at all offensive.
She watched on in mild amusement as the two Magic Knights traded insults. She knew that not all the factions were on good terms with each other, and it seems like the animosity bled down through its members as well. It was interesting to hear those quips. Even though they were all speaking a common language, the way they use it was slightly different from how the witches use it. She was slowly beginning to understand how they taunted each other and their factions. It was all very interesting, and she enjoyed listening to it.
"Apparently it's blue in color and I was told it usually grows around here. It shouldn't be hard to recognize once found."
"Blue? That’s my middle name." Indeed, the elf oozed the color blue. From her azure hair, to her sky blue eyes, to the turquoise aura that shimmered around her form - one would think she was a little obsessed with that color. "A plant, you say? It must look quite peculiar if you had to come all the way out here instead of buying something from the general store." Suna had absolutely no experience in medicine or anything of the like, but if it meant exploring this place, she was all for it. Bonus points if they came across another creature and she could taste more of that delicious mana.

The earth mage was starting to remember now. That blue haired lady was the elf who was with Saki at the Raque cafe. Fuu was just about to comment on it until the elf started to struggle with remembering the dwarf's name which annoyed her a bit. "Fuu...Fuu Wilhelm, and don't you forget it, missy!" Fuu said as she pointed at the woman. Of course someone with an attitude like Fuu's wouldn't be a fan of being forgotten, believing it to be a sign that she hasn't done much to be known. She wishes to move up in the Kingdom, become someone everyone knows and praises, a true defender.
Fuu continued to look away from the Black Bull knight as he returned a reply. It was obvious by his tone that he didn't care for the dwarf's little insult which in return annoyed the girl more, causing her to glance at him. Yeah, sure. Probably afraid to get your feet dirty, pansy." Fuu mumbled as she wiggled her toes in the soil. She certainly has the arrogance of a noble, but lacks the elegance a lot of them have. She didn't pay much attention to the conversation between the two. Instead, Fuu went to a nearby tree and leaned her back against it with arms crossed, glaring a the boy for a little before closing her eyes. Not that long ago, Fuu was enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of this magical forest. It was just her and the wilderness, but then these two, especially the bull had to come in and ruin it. But it couldn't be helped now. Stuff like this tends to happen.
Fuu quietly listened in on the conversation now, and peeked an eye open at the elf's last response. "Bet he doesn't know what a store is. That's probably what's wrong with him..." Fuu smirked, referring to how his squad takes in people who are seen as misfits. If that is the case, wouldn't that mean that Fuu is considered a misfit as well? The Bulls were one of her options back in the exams after all. The thought of that quickly took the girl's smirk away. She looked like that she was lost in thought for a second as she watched the boy before getting up from the tree. Part of her was starting to feel bad whether the boy took offense to Fuu's words or not. She'd then let out a sigh before turning her attention away from the bull and towards a deeper part of the forest. "The stupid flower is blue right?" she'd ask before heading in the direction of where she was looking, barely waiting for him to answer.
"Might as well help you both...so you can get outta my forest faster."

For a few moments he saw as the two females talked about how they previously met, he didn't really care nor did he had much of an interest in that. Pretty much hearing their entire conversation until he hears the name 'Fuu Wilhelm'. Despite not caring much about the conversation the small dwarf's name was loud and clear to him. A noble from the Wilhelm family, the Wilhelm's were one of the richest people in the Clover Kingdom. He didn't know she was from the Wilhelm family, but the way she acted it was very likely for him to think she was from a Noble Family of some sort. "...A noble, huh? Well, that explains it." He spoke the same way, as usual, not showing any sort of care nor surprise from his part. One will expect someone especially a commoner to treat a noble with respect, but this wasn't Charles's case. The majority of nobles he knew had inflated egos and filled with pride. He had no reason whatsoever to treat a noble with respect even someone as lazy as him believed that respect had to be earned, he was the type of person who will rather not have any issues with people, but mainly because he found it annoying to deal with.
Just as he heard that elf's middle name was blue, the first thing that came to his mind is that it fitted her. It made sense, her hair was blue after all. That was a strange middle name, but nonetheless he felt like it fitted. It appeared elves had a different way of naming their children. "I went to the store before coming here and they told me they didn't have any available. I went around asking where they could be found and they mentioned this place." He didn't want to come all the way here, but he didn't have much of an option at the end of the day.
Another remark from the small dwarf, she just kept going at it. It seemed like she had a personal grudge towards the Black Bulls for whatever reason. From how he saw it the majority of the Black Bulls had odd personalities, but they weren't especially rude towards people, or at least that's what he thought. "If it was in the market I probably wouldn't be here at all. He replied, showing no signs of feeling offended. He just wanted to get this over with, despite not feeling offended having a noble just trying to prove their superiority over a bunch of words was annoying for him.
After, it appeared the noble herself was willing to help him out. Based on what she said earlier she probably knew the area around, so she probably knew what type of plant he was referring to, three people are better than two. "From what I was told it gives off a strange glow, shouldn't be hard to find if it gives off that glow. Then again this place is quite big."

Suna had not counted on the outburst from the dwarf when she admitted forgetting the other’s name. "Apologies, Fuu Wilhelm of the Green Mantis. I won’t forget it this time." She gave a little laugh, her hands doing a downwards motion like she was trying to calm a little child. She loved fights - but only when she was not a part of it. She was the analytical type, and much preferred watching the action play out in front of her rather than actually being in it.
"...A noble, huh? Well, that explains it."
That came from the Black Bull, and it confirmed Suna’s unspoken guesses. Actually, it was difficult to imagine that Fuu was nobility. She certainly did not act like it, but Suna guessed that it must be hard for all those born noble to have much freedom. Perhaps this was her way of making freedom for herself, by not acting according to the standards. That much the elf could understand and respect.
He continued on to explain a bit more about his situation. "Whoever told you to come all the way here must be somewhat important," she observed. After all, most would just give up and return empty-handed. He must not have had that option, if he could not go back without the plant. It also seemed like he took her words literally. She did not have any middle name, but it just reminded her how much her usage of language was slightly different from theirs.
"Might as well help you both...so you can get outta my forest faster."
Suna watched in amusement as the dwarf hopped down from the tree and started off ahead. She turned to the male. "Any other info on what the plant may look like? It may give us an idea on its location."
"From what I was told it gives off a strange glow, shouldn't be hard to find if it gives off that glow. Then again this place is quite big."
Suna nodded slowly. "A glow?" She looked around. For her, everything glowed. Maybe that was just her aura, or the mana she senses. She nodded again, more to herself. "All right," and followed where the dwarf had hopped off.
Since the area was in a basin, the ground gradually sloped downwards. The blue-haired elf carefully made her way as the ground was uneven. They were approaching a more dense part, where the trees--or are those plants?--were of all different colors. Certainly not the normal trees of wood. Suna glanced closely at one as she passed by. Was it just her vision that wavered, or did the tree shift slightly? Must be my imagination, she blinked. Or maybe it has something to do with this strong mana zone. Whatever this place was, she felt right at home, even though this was her first time here.
Just then, she heard a rustle up ahead. From the sound of it, something big and heavy. "I think something’s up ahead," she called out softly to her companions, not wanting to draw attention from whatever creature it was. She had not put her harp away just yet, and kept it close to her chest. Her hands were poised and ready to strike as needed.

That careless attitude the black bull mage was exerting was beginning to annoy Fuu more. It was obvious to her now that her little quip back then didn't offend the guy which part of her was secretly relieved about, however that relief was overshadowed by her aggression. Still she wanted to help the boy find the flower. She claims so that these two can leave the forest faster so she could enjoy it to herself, but deep down Fuu just wanted people to hang out with in some fashion, even if one of them is a bull.
"Almost everything in here glows, genius." Fuu claimed as she continued to take the lead, which may have been a bad idea because she has no clue where to even look. She did have a point about the forest though. The amount of mana this forest gave off was so great that even someone with poor sensory like Fuu could tell this place was special. A lot of the exotic plants and trees here glowed in various colors, making this beautiful forest look lively. Some of the wildlife were also colorful. This was a beautiful place, and Fuu found herself quietly enjoying the scenery again as she walked. If anyone could see her face, they would see the surprisingly peaceful expression she was now giving off with a warm smile. She really loved being around nature.
"Eh...?" Fuu was brought back down to reality as the blue elf whispered something. The dwarf stopped in her tracks and looked back at the two. As she looked back, Fuu heard another rustling in front of her, causing the earth mage to quickly look up at the same bushes. It was clear that the blue woman was trying to keep whatever was around from noticing them, but this caused an almost devious looking grin to form on the girl's face. She'd then take a few steps forward before inhaling. She'd then cup her hands around her mouth and yell out, "Oi! Quit hiding already and show yourself!" The green mantis knight then crossed her arms, keeping her eyes on where the rustling was coming from. "I promise I won't thrash ya too badly!" she added with a cocky smile. Fuu's challenging nature and hardheadedness was getting the better of her again. Fuu is no stranger to picking unnecessary fights...even if it ends up dragging in people who are trying to stay out of it.

It seemed that the blue-haired elf was more nice and polite compared to the small Noble who went around insulting him just because he was a Black Bull. He really didn't care if the noble girl was rude to him, though he found it amusing that a noble from a family such as the Wilhelm family ended up in a Squad like Green Mantis, as far as he was aware nobles inside the Magic Knights found themselves in pretty much in every single Magic Knight Squad, but were rarely found in squads like the Black Bulls or Green Mantis. In some cases, noble families considered ending up in those types of squads like a disgrace due to the type of people in it and their reputation. The small Green Mantis member was also willing to help, at least she was going to do something than just stay there and keep insulting him over things he really wouldn't care.
"I guess you could say that. The Captain of the Black Bulls was the who sent me in the first place." He said, keeping his voice tone the same usual. Though, this was just a part of the truth. In reality, he had to come all the way here because the Captain forced him, if he had another option then he will be laying down on his bed at the Black Bulls base. He had no option to just go back there empty-handed otherwise it was the end for him.
As Suna inquired to him about the location of the flower Charles began to think, just at the same time Fuu brought up the fact that the place had a lot of glowing plants. He placed his hand on the right cheek, this was going to take some time. "If I remember correctly... It's usually found nearby rivers, there are rivers here, no?" Just as he kept looking around the surrounding area, after remembering he started to look for any nearby rivers or pay attention to the sound of water flowing which will help them find what they are looking for.
Just as he heard a rustle up on ahead, the blue-haired elf who actually looked older than him despite her size. She whispered that there was something up ahead. It reassured him that he wasn't the only one who heard it. Charles knew the place had a lot of beasts with strange magics, he will rather avoid any sort of combat, as fighting was bothersome to him. All he came here for was for a plant that he was forced to come get.
It appeared the plan to avoid any type of fighting was ruined when the small Green Mantis member tried to get the attention of whatever was out there. She seemed very confident of her abilities, her personality displaying one of a really aggressive person who wouldn't think twice about picking a fight. Charles let out a sigh as he saw the girl trying to pick up a fight with the beast they will encounter. This made him understand how she ended up in a place like the Green Mantis in the first place. Considering his plan was already ruined, he placed his hand on his grimoire preparing himself just in case something happened and they ended up in a fight. He muttered to himself while this way taking place. "What a pain..."

⊹ Female ⊹ Elf ⊹ Junior Rank ⊹
Suna had figured that the dwarf would leave them, based on her attitude and tone towards the Black Bulls boy, but was pleasantly surprised that she agreed to help. Albeit grudgingly, but still agreed nonetheless. It was just a guess, but perhaps she was bored and wanted to see some action. Remembering the entrance the Green Mantis gave at the cafe, that must be it. Suna nodded her head, more to herself than to anyone.
The man had mentioned that he was on a mission because of his squad leader. That the elf could understand. He also said that the plant can be found near rivers. "That narrows it down." She was enjoying the companionship and the scenery, and did not bother to hide her content smile.
The place was just teeming with so many different plants and trees, all of various colors and shades. The elf extended her aura, the blue hue darkened and lightened in turns, and it wavered as it touched upon some of the plants. It was almost like her element was dancing with the place’s mana. She watched on in fascination, giving her aura free rein. She had never seen it behave like this before - she would definitely come visit this place often after this and study how her element reacts to this mana zone.
At the rustle, she had called out to her companions in warning, but they responded in two different ways. The Green Mantis had called out in defiance, daring whatever was hiding to come out and fight. The Black Bull had been more cautious, and had looked slightly annoyed at the upcoming fight. It was all very interesting, watching the two react in different ways. She would analyze their responses later.
Her grimoire started glowing brightly as she started playing her first notes. It was quiet, a slow and mournful tune, the beginning of her restraining spell Ritenuto. When faced with an unknown, best to slow their speed down first.
As her sound started spilling out, the intruder made its appearance. Or rather, intruders. Four feline-looking creatures padded out, their pawsteps making no sound on the soft grass at all. But if one looked up at their heads, they had an elongated nose and tusks. They looked like a cross between a lynx and a wild boar, with spotted tan hides and glowing amber eyes.
Suna played on, concentrated and seemingly unfazed. But inside, her mind was quickly cataloging what she was seeing. She would look these creatures up the next time she visited the Royal Archives. She would look up everything about them and what their attributes and abilities were. Oh yes, she definitely would.
Her sound poured out, streaming straight towards those creatures. They were about eight meters away, and three of them broke into a run. They ran straight towards the mages, tusks low to the ground as they picked up speed. As they made contact with her spell, their speed slowed down, like they had just run into mud. Her Vampiric Magic siphoned two of their mana, and it gave the sound mage such a rush. It was such a glorious feeling. Suna had slowed them down with her AoE spell, and she trusted her companions to go in, whether to kill or not was up to them.
The biggest one--the leader, it seems--had been more cautious, waiting to see what her spell did. He snorted and crouched down low, tail slowly waving in the air. He looked like he was ready to pounce, and Suna did not know how far he could jump. She quickly morphed her aura into spears, and they floated stationary next to her. She would be ready with her Sforzando. There were five of them, and will be launched out if she played harsh, accented notes. But for now, she restrained from casting them, and waited to see how the scene would play it. Perhaps she would not need to launch it at all, if her comrades get through all of them first.

STATS
BATTLE SUMMARY
POW 16 DUR 00 SEN 04 STA 35 CON 20
Cast Ritenuto on 3 NPCs, -10 mana. Vampiric Magic on 2 NPCs, +10 mana. Formed Sforzando but not launched, -10 mana.
To activate this attack spell, Suna will strike up a quick series of notes, loud and sharp like the patter of winter hail. Her pure aura will morph into white flint-like arrowheads (2in by 3in) that hangs above the enemy, and her sound will make those arrowheads fall down in an circular area of 10 meters. The density of falling arrowheads will depend on her ability to play in polyphony, a musical texture consisting of two or more simultaneous lines of independent melodies, as opposed to just one dominant melodic voice.
To sustain the barrage, Suna must keep her tempo above vivace (lively and brisk tempo, 156–176 bpm) and play a series of tremolos, which is repeating a specific note or notes as rapidly as possible to produce a quivering effect. Apex Predator gives this spell an additional +3 power stack-able buff caps after 5 attacks or +15 to the enemy. At Suna's current junior level, it cannot be sustained for more than three motifs (three posts, not including the post when the spell is cast); then the piece must be started again from the beginning and the spell must be recast.
This spell is not limited to which instrument she uses, it is only a musical form type.
[Optional] Summoning An Instrument: If Suna does not already have an instrument on hand, she may summon her guzheng by humming a G (392hz). Her guzheng is 64"x12.6" / 162x32cm.
For this attack spell, Suna shapes her aura into spears (ammo) that float stationary next to her until she plays sudden, accented notes, which will then launch themselves out in a cone-shaped area all at once. Each spear is 60in / 152cm in length and 2in / 5cm in width, with the tip being slightly wider 3in / 7.6cm. The maximum number of spears Suna can use is 1 + (Control/5). Apex Predator gives this spell an additional +3 power stack-able buff caps after 5 attacks or +15 to the enemy. This spell does not sustain, as it launches all its spears out at the same time. The more spears she has, the wider the cone.
This attack spell is not limited to which instrument she uses to launch the spears, as the technique is the same.
[Optional] Summoning An Instrument: If Suna does not already have an instrument on hand, she may summon her harp by humming a C (262hz). Her harp is 33"x19"x6" / 83x48x15cm.
To activate this restraining spell, Suna plucks out the melody on her right hand while tampering the full sound by lightly muffling the strings with her left hand, indicating its restraining effects. As the music flows from the instrument, the sound takes form of a small flowing stream that is 1 meter in width. It snakes towards the enemy and spreads in a circle (1 meter in diameter) beneath each target's feet. When in contact with its target(s), the aura spreads upwards to bind movements and to slow down their speed by -2m/s. This will only affect the first [1 + (Control/5)] targets in contact, one additional target will have their speed debuffed by -1m/s, and any other targets will not be affected.
This binding restraint is an AoE effect. The spell only physically affects the enemy, and cannot restrain any spoken or verbal spell castings of retaliation. Vampiric Magic's mana drain will only be applied to the two targets of Suna's choosing. To sustain the bind, Suna must keep playing in ritenuto, the tempo gradually becoming slower and slower. The slower and calmer her music is, the more effective the bind. Any distractions to her state of mind will affect success of sustaining the spell. The restraints have the health of junior rank spells - if dealt damage that are equal or above the spell's rank, the restraints will dissolve and be dispelled.
This restraining spell is not limited to which instrument she uses, as the technique is the same.
[Optional] Summoning An Instrument: If Suna does not already have an instrument on hand, she may summon her harp by humming a C (262hz). Her harp is 33"x19"x6" / 83x48x15cm.

"Quit hiding already!" Fuu continued her attempt at provoking this unknown creature. She heard the black bull's little annoyed comment which caused her to turn her head in his direction, flashing a smug grin to let him know just how intentional her actions were. There was no backing out from this now for any of the three which Fuu certainly has no complaints about.
The earth mage then looked over at the elf who appeared to have started playing some song on her harp? "The heck are you doing, elf?" Fuu questioned, completely puzzled by the woman's actions. She'd then quickly take note of the blue woman's grimoire glowing. Was this a spell of hers? Before Fuu could think more on this, her attention was brought back to the bushes as they continued rustling harder with growling that can be heard within. Much to Fuu's surprise, there was not one, but four creatures making their way from out of their hiding spot. These strange looking boar feline like hybrids were new to the mantis girl. She has tangled with boars before and wild felines, but never has she witnessed a merged version of the two! Still, Fuu did not plan on backing down, and welcomed this challenge!
Three of these beasts had started to rush towards the three mages. This widened Fuu's grin as she started to crack her knuckles, but before the girl could do anything else, she noticed a strange aura going past her and towards the creatures. Fuu watched as the beasts' have slowed down quite a bit and then turned back around to see the source of this and it was coming from that elf. So it was a spell after all, and it appears to be a hex. Casting hexes are frowned upon by a lot of people in this kingdom, and tend to be associated with those with more sinister intent. A great amount of the Green Mantises are known to use hexes and curses, Fuu being no exception despite still being a bit new to it. The earth mage was honestly surprised that someone as nice looking and approachable as this elf was using such dark magic, but there isn't time to question it as the beasts were beginning to close in.
Fuu's grimoire floated up from her side and started to glow with a brown aura surrounding it. The book opened on its own and started flipping pages until it landed on the desired spell. The girl looked back at the beasts, specifically at the one homing in on her while the same brownish aura started to rise from the very soil beneath the ground and rocks around the area, surrounding Fuu while merging with her own mana. As this happened, the girl didn't move a muscle, not even with the weird beast drawing closer and closer. Fuu then crossed her arms together in an X formation in front of her as the beast slammed right into her! However, Fuu did not budge...not even a little. It continued to try and bash Fuu but to no avail as if she were some immovable rock. Taking advantage of this, the young Wilhelm quickly grabbed onto the beast's tusks and twisted her arms, slamming the beast to its side before stomping on the side of its head with her bare foot, a wicked grin developing on her face.
"Heh, who else wants some?!" Fuu yelled out, her noisy mouth not attracting more of the same creatures, but a rather an annoyed looking creature that looks similar to a lycan. Through some other glowing bushes, the monster rushed out, but it was more focused on the leading boar/feline creature, attempting to tackle it down. Perhaps those two are natural enemies?

Just as he expected beasts appeared with the intention to attack them. He tried to avoid any sort of combat because of annoying it was, but it's not like he had much of an option. He knew the place was filled with beasts so ending up in a fight with at least one of them was something that was going to happen eventually. As he took a closer look and noticed 4 creatures standing in front of them. Thankfully, he wasn't alone, he knew Fuu will probably manage to take some of them down, she was a Magic Knight after all this gave him a good idea on her abilities. As for Suna, he wasn't sure if she will be able to handle them, she wasn't a Magic Knight, but she was an elf. Elves usually had higher magical abilities compared to humans, so it was likely she will be able to do well as well. Sure, he was acting lazy and careless the entire time he met them, but during that time he spent analyzing how they acted, their personalities without much effort.
As the beasts attacked he noticed Suna used a strange type of magic, which managed to get Charles's interest for a second while they were attacking the beast. He noticed she was using hex/curse type of magic, based on her appearance and personality she didn't seem like the type of person that will use that type of magic, then again he didn't really care. He had better things to worry about, like the beasts in front of him that could potentially end up injuring or even killing him if he wasn't careful enough.
For the Green Mantis, he noticed how a beast tried to push her but failed not moving her at all. It was obvious she used reinforcement magic to increase her physical strength, as no person without help will usually be pushed back by the strength of a beast. The fact that Fuu used physical reinforcement didn't surprise him, after all, she seemed like the type of person who will use that type of magic specialization.
Taking into consideration that Suna had applied a hex on the beasts making their movement slower, which didn't take long for him to notice and Fuu was fighting one of the beasts with her physical reinforcement it seemed he had a good opening to strike. It appeared as some of the beasts were natural enemies, but in the end, once they were done with each other they will target them. His grimoire floated next to him giving a green aura. He had no time to waste. "Silver Wave." Charles placed his hand on the ground as soon as his hand touched the ground a thick spike of silver appeared going towards the direction of one the beasts that were in the middle where everything was going down. The silver spike was sharp enough to injure the beast, but it didn't kill it. He knew it will take more than that, thanks to the speed debuff Suna had applied on the beasts he had enough time to do a follow-up attack. Holding his right hand out and ran towards where the spike was planning to use it as a jumping platform to do his follow-up attack. "Electric Silver Spear..." He said, as a silver spear appeared on his right hand as he made his way towards the silver spike he had previously cast. It didn't take long for one of the beasts to try and react to Charles's movement, the beast that was previously injured by Charles's silver spike was laying on the ground bleeding. While the other was trying to move towards Charles's direction. He ran towards the silver spike that was big enough for him to get on top of he jumped upon getting close to its sharp tip holding his Silver Spear and striking it towards the ground, electrocuting the surrounding area where the beasts were located. The beast that was close on attacking Charles also got electrocuted before hitting him, it didn't manage to reach him on time and it thanks to Suna's speed debuff on the beast which allowed him to take such opportunity.
The fact that Charles's Silver Magic had lightning properties often surprised people as he rarely used his magic, but this gave him the element of surprise and allowed him to do things other silver magic users weren't able to do or people with different magics in general. Always looking to use his elemental oddity to gain the upper hand in battle as it was something not many people will expect from a Magic Knight like Charles who always displayed a lazy personality.
