Finally, he was on his way home to Hapshass! After a long day of putting up fliers and setting up for his coming travels, he was done. Well not quite. There was still more to do, but it was more than he could do in one day. A scheduling conflict ended up wasting a lot of time that could have been spent doing so many other things. It was frustrating to the boy who thrived in order.
Apollo was deep in thought on all the meetings he had to go to the following day when something unusual appeared in the corner of his eye. Upon turning his head it appeared to be an unusually large tree. It was an odd site and immediately piqued the Coral Peacock's curiosity. Especially this one whose particular studies drew him to peculiar buildings and environments.
It breathed life back into the exhausted boy! Almost upon instinct, his wheelchair began moving in the direction of the oddity with haste. After a long day of work, nothing would make him happier than ending it with a sketch of a beautiful site. If nothing else this chance to draw this spectacular place would make the trip to Nairn worth it in itself.
As he approached the enormous tree Apollo noticed that the sun had begun to set. This posed a set of complications for the young artist, but the potential payoff of being able to include the sunset in his art excited him even more. He soon found out that it wasn't just a tree, but the base of the Azure Deer! He'd heard of it and read of it, but to have just stumbled upon it was a stroke of luck!
Apollo parked his wheelchair near the front entrance and placed his fliers into a pocket on his chair before taking out his art supplies from the same pocket. A quick incantation of a spell created cuffs of water and lightning around his wrists and ankles. He was truly blessed with his magic and it's beauty. He quickly floated into the air to get a better view of the building and was awestruck at what he saw. It was a sight to behold and once he intended to share with others as best he could.
The artist took some time to find 'the perfect angle' as he called it before he began sketching. Apollo worked quickly yet diligently as he was fighting against the light to finish. At one point someone had interrupted him to ask about the wheelchair and confirm it was his. It was only a brief delay, but time was of the essence. As time went on the sky darkened and the lightning from his bracelets illuminated his canvas in a faint purple glow. He narrowly finished on time to get as much detail into his picture as he could.
“What a wonder...” Apollo flipped the page and began to write on the back. “Note to self: Include this in book at all costs! With many exclamation points!” And he did place many exclamation marks on the note. He was determined to have this site shared with the world, but that was a chore for another day.
Apollo slowly floated down and sat in his chair once more. The exhausted boy thought about undoing the spell but decided against it. He'd move much faster after all if he just flew. So instead he grabbed hold and began to float into the air and into the night. Illuminated by his lightning jewelry and guided by knowledge he headed towards home.
