[attr="class","lonelyscroll"] It was a starless night. The autumn wind bit into his skin. In the forests of the Forsaken Region, it was a good night to get lost. [break][break] And inherently, a good night to hurt. [break][break] Vaile’s head hurt. It wasn’t just pain, it was relentless, disparaging, nauseating pain. He held his head in his hands, with each beat of his heart, throbbing pain resounded in his skull. His blood ran cold in his veins. This wasn’t an unusual occurrence, no it wasn’t. [break][break] Ever since he’d lost her, the spells would come and they would go. He went away, so he could be alone. Because if he met with anyone in this state of mind, he knew he wouldn’t be able to control himself. [break][break] So what else could he have done? It was better this way. Did he have some moral disparity left? One part of him so much wanted to think so. [break][break] The dark did little to soothe his anguish, instead, when he blinked it was like bright white light flashed in his vision. Cold sweat poured from his brow. He was hot, he was cold, he didn’t know. His whole body was shaking. His stomach was doing somersaults inside his guts. Falling down, he gripped hard on tree bark. [break][break] He retched, but nothing would come out. Coughing and gagging, alone. He needed time. He needed something. Maybe he needed someone. [break][break]
“Why don’t you find help?”
[break] Help. What a laughable suggestion, even as it came from the ghost inside his mind. Her form had formidable clarity, the only soothing presence in his world of confusion. Silver hair, and pale skin shined in the moonlight. Her sundress fluttered in wind he didn’t feel. She reached out to him, placing a faint, cool thumb on his forehead. [break][break] Don’t need it.
[break][break]He responded. Her words echoed in his mind, but he questioned why. Just who would help him? A name did come to mind, but… he couldn’t have done anything to help. In the end, he refused her. He was acting to harshly against her, that wasn’t fair to her. She left him alone without another warning, fading away into nothing. [break][break] She was gone again. [break][break] But he knew, he didn’t need anyone to help. He could help himself, if only… [break][break] He breathed heavy, his own mana swelled inside of him. Shadows seemed to dance all around, he was left without control or awareness. This wasn’t good, he needed to stay in control, he needed to stay hidden, he needed to hide. But it was as if his own mana was bursting from the seems, there was no holding back his own pressure. The raw feeling of his shadows was like a mana beast, wild in the dark. [break][break] And then, he felt something. Someone else on this cold and bitter night. A presence of mana, relatively weak, relatively small. Compared to himself, it was like an insignificant, provocative bug. Lost and alone, it was a singular mage, the presence became his light in the dark, something to ground himself in the blurred reality. [break][break] But the greater truth was, he wasn’t searching for help. [break][break] He was on a hunt for something far more sinister.

Without a bout he was down and about to call it quits. Nothing was going along as he had expected from being within the magic knights. He was told that if he joined the kingdom's guard that he could use that as leverage for fining a mage capable of healing his child. Apparently their was mage among the royals that carried such capability. Time however was not in favor for the peasant. Just a few days earlier his wife had called him explaining that their village doctor had done just about everything he could to prolong his daughter's life.
Babe, our little girl has grown so weak. Her little bones are frail and her what used to be large gasp of oxygen are getting smaller and smaller. She's become pale and can no longer walk on her own will. She went on to explain other applications before finally breaking down. Why did you leave me here to suffer like this? To watch our child go through this. I fell that I am basically waiting for her to pass away. I can't do this anymore. Their is no way that I am going to outlive my own seed. Do you hear me? Do you hear me Akaza!!!! You can't imagine the pain and suffering that I am going through right now! You've been away for way too long! Just face it, you're a failure. You've always been a failure!!! Why did I even waste my time depending on you!?!?!? Akaza hen tired to intervene. But, but, but, but. No more buts from you. You never really cared for us and for that I'm going to finish it. Honey Nooooo! CLICK...That was the last he heard of his wife.
Truth is the whole situation has been weighting on him. For this reason the knight was striding along inside of the Forsaken woods. He would first think of the good time followed by some bad. This would repeat itself up until most of the bad would outweigh the good. His palms were beginning to sweat while his belly started to ache. The light tension in his head slowly became a throbbing pain. His began racing until his worries had become so excessive that he was to the point of feeling an impending doom. It was then, he just clicked. I WANT TO DIE!!!!! Little did he know that today was going to be his lucky day. Vaile Valentine

[attr="class","lonelyscroll"] On the hunt. [break][break] On the hunt. [break][break] His mind only knew the words, his senses only were locked on a single target. The hunger tore at him from the inside out. He was angry, so angry, and he needed someone to blame. This kind of desperate anger could only be soothed when his dark desire was fulfilled. [break][break] He paused again, his world spinning from the flashes of light and dark. [break][break] He could only think of one thing. She was gone. She was gone. She was gone. She was gone and it was their fault. [break][break] The Magic Knights. [break][break] “I WANT TO DIE!” [break][break] Ah, so he did. So did he? The voice hadn’t been his own, nor had it been hers. Was he supposed to feel something? Know something? Hadn’t she left him because he was like this? But she never knew. [break][break] He stood taller, raising his head toward the voice. Stepping out into the shadowed moonlight, Vaile’s own figure was nothing but a shadow in the dark. He saw the man, much taller than he, perhaps just as distressed as he was. Had he been shouting for death to come? But why? But how? [break][break] But did it matter anyway? Vaile saw the robes, the glint of green, the symbol of a dreaded bug. This man was a Magic Knight. [break][break] Vaile Valentine h̶̛̛̖̺̠̀a̸͇̜͒̾͝͝t̵̯̍̀͠ȇ̶̥̟̝͕̈́d̶̨̳̋́̇ Magic Knights. [break][break] “Ask for death, and you shall know it.” [break][break]
Vaile said softly, his aura of shadows encompassing all his being. His grimoire floated freely from his side, the shadows seemed to glow within the darkness itself. The reaper made its appearance, a towering visage of death itself. As the man wished for it, he would receive it. Yes, this was death. [break][break] “Memento Mori.” [break][break] Remember you shall die. [break][break] The reaper rushed forward, enveloping the Knight in its cloak of shadows. The darkness was so blinding, the Knight would only see the dark. A black deeper than any he had experienced before, and Vaile simply stood and he watched. [break][break] He watched the first death. [break][break] A simple one really. A sword to the gut, blood dripping down the stomach. The feeling of life draining away, warmth and breath mixing together as blood would seep into the lungs and slowly, choke away. [break][break] The second death was fire. An inferno that enveloped all and everything, the heat that was burn away fingers, toes, skin, and nerves. Leaving nothing but blackened and burned skin, crusting ash and dust. [break][break] The third death was suffocation, of hands enclosing around the neck, squeezing slowly, leaving skin feeling clammy, bruising around the windpipe, leaving no room for a scream. Gaspless breathes continued, forcing air out but never letting it in. [break][break] The fourth was impalement. The fifth, drowning. The sixth didn’t matter. The seventh continued on and on. All that mattered was that it was death. Again, and again, and again and again. [break][break] The man wanted to die and he would. Vaile wanted to him suffer and so he did.

Hex and Curse based spells may now deal damage without the need of an offensive spec. The damage they are capable of dealing is the rank of their spell minus one. Junior ranked spells are unable to utilize this feature.
Instead of illusions waning over time, and lowering the amount of sensory needed in order to see through them by 2 points per post they are sustained, it will now be every other post.
This perk allows a person's spells to naturally move 5 m/s faster than normal, this increases to 10 m/s at grand rank.
[break] Description: The spell begins as Vaile is surrounded by a dark aura of shadows, with the black aura soon overtaking his body entirely. Extending outward and above him is a haunting image of a black skull grim reaper. Nearly 10 meters tall, this is an entirely illusionary visage of death itself, complete with a dark tattered cloak, skeletal body, and scythe with a black blade. The Grim Reaper will rush towards an enemy to quite literally swallow them whole and encompass them in its cloak of darkness. Once caught in the skeleton’s reach, an enemy may be temporarily blinded with their vision completely overtaken by shadows and darkness. [break][break] Immediately following, the target will be barraged with images and visions of themselves dying by various means. This includes but is not limited to: torture and suffering, impalement, beheading, drowning, choking, dismemberment, freezing, be burned alive, illness or any other means that will cause death. These are visions created in a target's psyche and may affect up to four (4) sense of the body (excluding touch or physical means). This includes sight, hearing, and smell to fully develop an immersive experience of death. The fourth sense of 'mana sensory' is also interfered with, incurring confusion over mana presences in the surrounding area and making such presences feel absent or missing, further implying a state of total isolation for the target. The intent of this illusion is to create psychological feelings of trauma and fear in a target, using the absolute fear of death and leave them vulnerable to attack. This Illusion functions a Hex debuff as well. The target will feel their endurance weakened by the continuous imagery of their own death and can be attributed to feelings of extreme illness, fatigue, and nausea. [break][break] Due to the [Corroding Curse] perk, a target shall naturally be inflicted with damage of that equivalent to a [Senior] Rank Spell. [break][break] Memento Mori also functions as a [Grand] rank [Endurance Debuff]. If afflicted successfully, a target will gain an additional [Intermediate] rank’s worth of damage on the next successful attack.

He was sitting there steadily weeping of his wife and child. Apparently his daughter was on borrowed time and would soon ultimately meet her maker. The middle age water mage was at the point of calling it quits. Debating if he should take his own life under the circumstances for the fact what is know can no longer be again. Yes, in fact that's exactly what I am going to do. Killing myself is the answer; reliving me of this great pain. No longer would I have to live in the lowly slums only to watch the only people I've ever loved pass away. Akaza was speaking aloud to himself. It was then his inevitable fate fell upon him.
From the shadows a dark shadowy being would stand tall above the helpless knight. Yes! Yes! The gods have heard my plea. The knight was all but disappointed in seeing the skeletal creature before him. From the looks of it he could tell that it was in his presence not to befriend. Please be here to finish this in which I don't have the courage to do. In return of his plea the shadow demon had no reply. Instead the forming of a scythe was made of the shadows beneath it. Soon after in a dash the monster first stabbed the knight in the gut. Ougt! The sound Akaza had time to make out. This is it. This is the end. Afterword their was many different variations of deaths the knight was put through one after another that were worse and worse.
Akaza could only take so much deaths before he'd realize that they were all just an illusion. Their was no way he could survive as many tortures that many times. IT didn't matter however for the fact of the pure anxiety build up was more than enough break him down mentally. Akaza at this point no longer had an ounce of will to continue on. His limp body would fall nearly lifeless across through. Finish it. I can't take anymore so please just finish it. His final thoughts were of his beautiful daughter. Just hold on little lady, daddy his coming home. Vaile Valentine
[attr="class","lonelyscroll"] There was something utterly disgusting about this death. [break][break] Vaile watched, the man wracked with visions of his demise. He watched as the Knight collapsed on the ground, begging for the end, hoping for the end. [break][break] Because Death would answer his call, end his suffering, make the cries of the world go deftly silent. And perhaps, that was what Vaile so much desired on his own. Yet, the Shadow Mage was not graced with death that night. Certainly, he saw it, he could deliver it, but the fate he desired for himself could not be reached so easily. So what if he desired death? [break][break] In truth, he was afraid of it as well. The cowardice within him struggled for life. He was not afraid of death as an end, he feared it because he knew the endless nothing awaited him. [break][break] Death would be endless nothing, without her. [break][break]
“Are you going to kill him?”
[break] She appeared again, standing beside him. He stood above the collapsed body, numb with agony, drugged on the illusionary world of death that Vaile had flung him onto. It was a meaningful question, he was supposed to answer her fairly. [break][break]
“Do you want to?”
[break] Did he want to kill this man? What an awful question. [break][break] Of course, he did. [break][break] “Yes.” [break][break] Vaile answered her, and she only looked back at him. [break][break]a He was a Magic Knight. He was asking for death. Vaile was just so out of touch with his own mind that he could deliver it. The situation was too perfect. No one would find this body here. No one would know of the crime so committed. He stood over the body, this nameless Magic Knight that he could kill so easily. [break][break] Because yes, Vaile Valentine h̷̦̑͂a̴̦̎̐t̸̆̕ͅé̵͈d̸̟̽ͅ Magic Knights. [break][break] “Gladiolas.” Vaile stated, his spell casting nothing more but a whisper in the dark. This starless night that was shrouded in darkness was his cover for this ultimate crime. He reached his hand out feeling the comfortable grip of his shadow sword form too easily. He grabbed hard, his fingers squeezing so tight his hand was shaking. [break][break] Death. Kill. Hate. [break][break] This was mercy. It was a justification. It was justice. His ghost watched him, her lightless eyes laid witness to his action. [break][break] He stabbed the blade deep into the man’s stomach, enough force was struck down to strike through the entire body. Blood would poor from the wound, a simple struggle, but ultimately there was no recovery. Death would come, for the final time. [break][break] Vaile stepped back, watching as his shadow blade lay stuck in a soon to be corpse. For once in this distressing night, he felt at peace. His anger calmed, the storm of emotions leaving him almost entirely. When he looked for his ghost, she was gone. [break][break] Of course, she would be gone, he’d just killed a man. She’d never want him to do such a thing. [break][break] But it was the only thing he knew he could do.

A blessing was given. The wretched penetrated of the bladed scythe pierced slowly though the midsection of the knight. It was finally his calling from the gods to come home and join them in their forever kingdom. It was there he could once again join with the love of his life and beloved child. Their would be no more suffering as their afterlives could all be together once more. A lovely ending to what most would call a tragic beginning.
Akaza though in pain could not have felt anymore relieved in his life time. As his eyes would begin to fade and his body became lifeless, he'd watch the stars above. Each would represent a piece of harsh reality that he and his loved ones faced throughout their lives. Why did forever treat then unjust? What did he do to deserve his endeavors? None of which mattered anymore. Akaza would finally take his last breath before fading away. Vaile Valentine

[attr="class","lonelyscroll"] A body that laid still and motionless, red as black blood pooled underneath. Vaile’s sword dissipated from the air, shadows melded into nothing. His heart beat rapidly in his chest, breath came in staccato bursts. [break][break] He blinked once, then again, stumbling backward as he barely caught himself. [break][break] What had he done? What was he going to do? [break][break]
“You did it.”
[break] The voice in his head spoke aloud, and he looked up, only to see the girl of silver hair tilt her head with such morbid curiousity. He’d done it. Silence followed the night, consuming his shaking breathes and drumming heart. Even his headache faded away, and he was left empty. There was a dead body there. [break][break] And yet he felt nothing for it. [break][break] There was something wrong about that, perhaps. But the reasoning was clear, the man had been a magic knight, so he deserved to die. Because Vaile Valentine hated Magic Knights, so they all deserved to die. Because it was the Order of Magic Knights who decided that in order to save the world, losing others was okay. [break][break] So they all deserved to die. [break][break] It wasn’t justice. It was pure vengeance, logical in one sense, irrational in another. But he wasn’t sure how much he cared or wanted to. Since looking at a faded corpse did nothing for him, he wondered if his own reasonings even had any standing. If he just accepted that he was acting irrationally, then what was there for him to do afterward? Would he even be able to stop himself? Would he even want to? [break][break] As Mana faded, he took a step back again, feeling the soft grass bend at his feet. Would anyone have known at all? The man was alone, he’d been begging for death anyway… [break][break] Vaile had simply given it to him. Was that so wrong? It was hard to determine, he was not one who could judge. After all, he had committed the act. As he looked away, he allowed his grimoire to float freely beside him. [break][break] “Altus Avis.” Words were whispered from his parted lips and a raven of darkness formed underneath him, taking to the air so he was standing comfortably on its back. The raven would grab the body with gentle claws… [break][break] And Vaile looked out the woods again, seeing his ghost look at him with sapphire eyes that no longer shined. She said nothing more. She didn’t need to say anything at all. He’d made his mess, he would clean it up. [break][break] It was only right for him to do so. [break][break] And so the body was taken, whisked away to be hidden in the shadows. To a place where it certainly would never be found. It was an easy death by all accounts, almost rather sad. Because it was almost as if Vaile himself knew, no one would come looking for this poor, lost soul. And perhaps, it was just better that was as well. [break][break] The night took and hide all things away. [break][break] Death and the dead alike. [break]
