[attr="class","haniascroll"]
Hania had his ears to the ground on most things, he kind of had to given who his family were but he had been in Ryuu for some time so was a little out of touch than he would normally have been. Still, it hadn't been all that long since he got back that he had found out some information that put him in a foul mood, female tourists had been going missing within the town of Raque. They were still rebuilding from what had happened months back with the daemon attack, the Blue Roses numbers had been decimated with their squad headquarters being blown up. The recently promoted captain Alyssa Lilygate hand her hands full to the point of being drawn thin so it seemed like this had slipped through the cracks for her. To be honest, he doubted that was the actual case, she was Lydia's friend after all.
He couldn't say what the Wizard King was thinking but likely he wanted to take the pressure off the Blue Rose squad and help put the people to rest in one blow. To him, the best way to do this was allow the Blue Roses to continue as they had been over the past few months while having another squad deal with the issue that seemed to be plaguing the town. It would just appear as business as usual. He had noticed recently that there had been quite a few new members that had joined the squad, which was just perfect as they were likely to get on someone's nerves. From what he heard there was one particular one that had slid across a table and knocked Lydia off her chair at the squad vacation while he was changing. He still wanted to know how the kid got out of that place still walking.
It was due to the hyperactive and clumsy nature of this new squad member that Hania had sent a letter to the Vermillion manor requesting his presence at the gate of Raque at nine am sharp the following day. He held no authority within the squad unlike his sister but he sure as hell could make the other's life hell none the less if he was tardy, he can chalk that one up to his upbringing for sure. His hair was loose against his back, he was wearing a modified white silk changpao with silver hems, an ice blue, white and silver cloak with his Crimson Lion mantle over that. In his hand, he held a traditional paper umbrella from his homeland due to standing there under the dark grey clouds and rain that was falling from them. Amostia was perched quite happily on the umbrella.
"You tare a hole in this and I swear I'll feed you to Judgement." he said looking up to the dark spot on the umbrella "That dragon is like a cat, it is fat and lazy." the spirit retorted "Last I checked cats still chased and ate birds." he said without missing a beat with that Amostia went quiet, he knew he had chosen an interesting one to be bonded to this time as he would be as quick to cut with words as himself. He had found it quite interesting that Satori had taken to the youth the way he had, Satori he knew was a good judge of character but Hania didn't seem quite like the type the leader of the Ryuutei would tend to take under his wing given how rigid to the rules he was but then Satori was also good at seeing things others couldn't.

Taiyō sat in his room in the Vermillion Manner, staring at the ceiling. He was lost in thought about his journey since he first met Captain Ardere. At that time the captain was only the vice-captain but he still was powerful then. He had become motivated since that encounter. Motivated to become better and stronger than the man who challenged him as a child. He knew he had a very long way to go but that didn’t deter him one bit.
The other person on his list to get way stronger than, was his cousin Leonard. They were both junior knights but Taiyō felt like Leo left him in the dust when it came to fights. As kids, they would spar with Leo winning most of the time. He never forgot the feeling of losing but he used it to push himself forward each time, learning from each loss or failure like stepping stones. After receiving his grimoire, he figured things would have to change. They did fight for the title of heir to the house and the experience made him understand he still needed to refine his abilities and training.
Next on his mind was the mission he had in Kikka. It was his first ever mission and even though it was a success, Taiyō felt like he could have done better. He could have failed the mission that day but he was lucky enough to have had enough energy to take down the bandits. He sighed as he thought about what would have happened if he didn’t succeed. Would the vice-captain have thrown him out and told him not to return if he wasn’t stronger? Would his parents be embarrassed? What would Leo say?
Taiyō was brought out of his thoughts by his mother calling for him. He got out of his bed and walked down to the main room slowly. He walked over to his mother and smiled. ”Hey mom, what’s up?”
”You have mail from a Hania of the Crimson Lions.” She smiled and handed you the message.
”Thanks.” He accepted the message and began reading. He took note of the name, Hania Ravencrest. From what Taiyō knew, Hani was the younger brother of the vice-captain. This could be bad for him but he guessed he could read what the other mage wanted. It was important enough to be placed in a letter. The letter told him that he had to be at the gate of Raque at 9AM sharp. He marveled at how vague the details were. Why would Hania ask him to go somewhere without giving him a reason? Maybe it was for a mission. Either way, Taiyō didn’t want to know what would happen if he didn’t get there early. ”Looks like I have to go to the gate of Raque early in the morning. It might be another mission so I will go up and get prepared then I’ll head to bed. Good night, mom.”
”Good night, Taiyō.”
The next morning, Taiyō got up and got ready to leave. He made sure to eat a heavy breakfast in preparation of the day he was about to have. He walked over to the mage who would transport him places all the time, Lucia. He had given her the destination and stepped through the portal, arriving at the gate of Raque at 8:55AM.

[attr="class","haniascroll"]
Hania turned his eyes towards the spatial portal that had opened up nearby, he sighed a little but otherwise didn't move in any other way. Watching the younger Crimson Lion walk though he had to wonder if he slept in and used a spatial mage because he wouldn't have made it any other way, he turned to face the other before walking towards him "I'm sorry did I disturb your beauty sleep?" he asked calmly, it wasn't that he was trying to be mean to the other but he personally had been up for hours, did his normal training routine and still managed to get to raque without using a spatial mage. Had he taken the more than a few moments he would have realised that there was going to be torrential rain in Raque that day, this of course would make their task more than a little harder as very few would be out.
He sighed holding out a second umbrella that he had bought while he had been waiting "Not that it will help you given you are likely soaked through by now." he said his voice stoic. He would let go of it if it was taken from him "So, I am not sure how well informed the Vermillion family are so let me give you the short version. It would seem as if young ladies that have been visiting Raque have been going missing, no one knows what has happened to them up until recently..." he took a second before turning his head towards the grey sky "They have been murdered and left out to be found by other citizens, the exact method of death is still unknown but given everything that has happened to this town recently they don't need this plaguing it." he informed the other.
"The mayor has requested the help of the magic knight squads to help find the serial killer. Yes, I am aware that this is the town that the Blue Roses find their headquarters and they should be the ones who would be best to deal with it, however, they are still dealing with the aftermath of the daemoness Selena's attack. They will likely be trying to keep the citizen's calm while helping with the rebuilding." he let the other know "I have not really been sent by the captain or the vice-captain to take on this task however the Lilygate family are friends to my own and this is their hometown so it is kind of personal to me." he wanted the other to go in knowing all the information going in, he honestly had no idea why because he was there now.
"I thought since you have so much energy that you need to get out and require a bit more experience in the field I would bring you with me. You can leave if you wish but I think this would be a challenge you will enjoy." with everything said he turned towards the town once more "Don't mind Amostia he'll generally be silent unless wanting to irritate me but I'll melt him over a fire at a later point." he said before starting to walk into the town and towards where the last body had been found, he knew that given the weather and that the murder had been discovered over two days ago still he didn't believe there was any harm going to the area nonetheless. If nothing else he believed it only right to pay respects to the young woman who had their life ended and been dumped like she was nothing more than trash.
He moved into a small park with what seemed like a pond in the centre, there were benches differing types of trees, what he found was strange that there were a few people within the area. This place should have been guarded to prevent such things from happening for a while longer but it seemed as if it had been lax, this was an issue, to say the least, but then part of him believed that one of the half dozen people that he could see could be the murderer revisiting the scene. It was a sickening thought in all honesty but he stopped under one of the willow trees his umbrella still held up preventing him from getting wet in any way. He looked back to Taiyo "So, there is a good chance one of the people here is our murderer how should we proceed?" he wanted to see just how smart the other was.
He knew how he personally would proceed but he wasn't here alone, besides that he wanted to put in his report hist thoughts on the other. It was true that the Crimson Lions were known to be an offensive force but they were also tacticians for the most part and didn't rush into things without having some sort of plan. He knew that the young crimson lion cub had done anything but left a good impression on his elder sister given the way they had met, he wasn't overly thrilled about it but knew that at least one member of the family would find it funny even if he wouldn't have the gall to laugh in public about it. For now, he would wait and allow Taiyo to tell him how he believed they should proceed, in honesty, that thought scared him a bit he had to admit.

After stepping through the portal, Taiyō was greeted by multiple droplets which completely soaked him. He wasn’t expecting to be greeted by the rain but it happened. ”Eep!” His eyes focused on Hania when the man approached him and asked him such a rude question. He couldn’t figure out if his squadmate meant to be rude or harsh but from his posture and stance, both would seem to be in the negative. Maybe it was just the way Hania spoke that would have led him to wording his question like that. ”I got enough sleep thank you very much! Anyway, if you were wondering why I used a spacial mage to get here, my spacial mage usually opens portals for me whenever I leave the Estate. She loves helping me reach my destination and who am I to stop her from doing such?”
After his rambling answer, Hania handed him an umbrella and spoke about how it wasn’t much help to him since he was already soaked. He took the umbrella and smiled since he had a plan to handle the water. ”Thanks.” He closed his eyes and started generating his solar magic around him to dry the water off of him and also warm up his body. He loved being able to generate sun power, it came with its advantages. He looked at his superior as Hania began speaking about why they were really there. At the mention of young girls being murdered, he gritted his teeth and clenched his fists. These young ladies were coming to have a good time but it ended up being their last time to feel anything. Why would anyone commit such a heinous act? Why would someone take the life of an innocent person? His blood started boiling but he exhaled, trying to keep as calm as he could.
He continued listening to Hania go on about the mayor and his request to have the magic knights help out in this situation. He was more than willing to do the job. He hated the fact that someone could ruin someone else’s life so dishonorably. He didn’t mind the work even if it was the territory of the Blue Rose Knights. Justice had to be served. He was a bit shocked that Hania would request to work with him on something so personal. Wouldn’t his sister be a better pick? Then again, the vice-captain probably had more important business to tend to. He nodded as Hania continued going off. Finally, the other man was revealing why he chose him in the first place. ”I accept the mission! I can’t let these people suffer and the ones who are now past, they deserve justice!” His words were passionate which resonated with his burning desire to be the best. Being the best also meant protecting the citizens and visitors of the Clover Kingdom. ”Thank you for choosing me for this mission. I will not let the opportunity to gain experience be passed up.”
Taiyō chuckled as he watched Hania speak about Amostia. He figured that the teasing and threatening to burn the spirit was a part of their usual banter. He followed the man to a park which had various types of trees. It was filled with people which was weird. The town was going through a dark period and yet the people looked calm and relaxed. Was this look a facade to try to bring their town back to some level of normalcy? He was brought out of thought by Hania’s question. How could he figure out who the killer was just by looking? He slowed down his mental process and began to think of logical ways to identify the killer. A couple ideas came to mind but he figured this one was worth a shot.
”We can talk with the people around and try to secretly gather information. The person that seems off or not right in the head would be guilty and if they’re not good at covering their tracks with words, they’ll reveal themselves without knowing that they did.” Taiyō hoped that he didn’t make himself sound really dumb when he made that suggestion. The truth was, he was under pressure from the fact that he was not only a rookie but he had little to no experience. He could only hope that the experience gained from this situation would make him smarter and more capable to handle such situations in the future.

[attr="class","haniascroll"]
Hania closed his eyes only able to sigh in frustration as he heard the 'eep' the other let out, if a bit of rain made him act like that he would hate to see what would happen if he came across a storm mage with an ice oddity. "It is just a little water and had you taken the longer route of travel or checked prior to leaving you would know that Raque is in the middle of a storm currently." he said opening his eyes looking at the younger male, he knew there was nothing wrong with taking spatial mages as their magic was helpful especially in times were evacuation was needed. He cared little if he came off as rude or harsh, this wasn't noble court nor a social event, the town had a new crisis and that was all he cared about dealing with.
He was fully aware that the other had arrived before the time he stated within his letter "I am quite aware you got here by a spatial mage, I felt the portal forming and seen it with my eyes when it opened." he said his voice stoic as always he took a deep breath and released it slowly as he already felt like he was ready to hit his squadmate "Never call a person yours... I've been living with a bunch of people that might take that the wrong way. I would suggest saying the spatial mage and their name who works for my family. It's not as if you are talking about a nanny." he then rolled his eyes at the last part of what Taiyo said "You want to know my thoughts on 'Who am I to stop her from doing such?' because I guarantee you will not like my answer."
It was as simple as that in Hania's eyes, Taiyo was an adult now as far as the kingdom was concerned to the point he had joined a magic knight squad and was the heir of his family as far as the ice mage was aware. Still, he was acting like a spoiled Silva child that had servants wiping his ass and making his life as easy as possible, if he believed that was the way real life worked he was in serious need of a reality check. "The only way to grow is not always relying on the easy or convenient way of doing things." he explained to the other "This is a friendly piece of advice from one heir to another, so to answer the question of who are you to stop her? a magic knight and heir to your family line and it's about time to prove you are worthy of both statuses."
He never held any ill-intent towards the other or really thought negatively of him but it was clear he had been babied all of his life and always taken the easy way if it was offered to him. He had read some of the unclassified reports from Kikka and he believed that at least one deal had been struck due to his flashes but he didn't know for sure and he wasn't about to go ask the person he classed as his best friend if he had done such a taboo act. The person in question had made a logical decision to make that deal knowing what would happen if it was found out and still done it because it was an easy way to ensure that people were safe.
Sure, it may have done what was intended but at the same time if what he had seen was that person was now bound to eternal servitude to a daemon and deep in his stomach, he knew that it would come back to bite the person in the ass sooner or later. He would still be stood by that person regardless and would try to help find a way to get the other released before something terrible happened. He had no idea how Lydia would take it because essentially he would be on the other side of the line, he loved his family and country but he didn't want his friend crucified just for doing his duty in difficult times either. It was a hard situation he would be put in and hoped his family would be understanding and forgiving given the extraordinary circumstances that happened within. Still, that was only if it was indeed true and it was found out by others.
It was a thought that he put out of his mind for now as it wasn't prevalent to what the pair were here to do today. As he told Taiyo why they were there he looked at him, every small micro expression and action logged into his memory. He could understand the young man's anger given what he was being told "Don't let your anger overcome your judgement, that's how mistakes are made and some mistakes aren't reversible and those that are, aren't always easy to have undone." he advised the other hoping that it would make him see sense and calm himself "Besides if you act riled up you will likely scare the perpetrator into hiding." The mantles were a dead give away that they were magic knights but the request to deal with this hadn't been made public just yet so he was hoping that gave them a slight upper hand in that regard.
"You really are a hyperactive idiot." he said with a slight warmth to his voice as he shook his head, it wasn't meant as an insult but more an observation. "Keep your voice down and your burning passion for justice on simmer." he instructed "There will be times and places you will need to keep calm and there are other times where you can be all fired up like you are currently. You will need to start discerning when you are able to do which action." he informed the other, it wasn't like he was trying to discourage them he just knew first hand this was the way of things. Then again it wasn't like he had ever been a hyperactive or loud person but that might have been a combination of his element, how he was treated as a child and his training when being reborn so to speak.
"Everyone needs a starting point, this I guess is yours. It's not as grandiose as someone like Lydia or the captain can take you on but it's something a bit more challenging than what a newbie normally does." he said, it wasn't exactly much more dangerous but it isn't every day he'd be asked to look for a serial killer either. Within the park, he listened to what the other said about how they should proceed and shook his head. "Two magic knights asking questions could spook the killer and even if it didn't serial killers are charming and charismatic they are also normally psychopaths or sociopaths meaning they can't feel emotions but they can fake them very convincingly. To the point, someone like myself or perhaps even Lydia may have difficulty discerning the truth." he wasn't trying to boost himself or undersell his sister's abilities he just knew they could miss things.
"With that in mind, rethink the question with the information we know and what I have told you about the type of person we are looking for." he knew of a way they could progress but he would rather avoid that option if at all possible. He also wanted the younger male to come up with the plan of attack so to speak, Hania was acting like the training wheels this time around so if he ever ended up in a situation like this he would think of alternative ways to deal with an issue. There would be times talking to people would work fine but as it was this town was already on edge thanks to the daemon attack just a few months back and now this happening. It would be easy for a skilled killer to fake the fear or slip away and restart elsewhere, they couldn't allow the latter to happen so this needed to be done right the first time as he doubted there would be a second chance.

Taiyo stood with his arms folded as Hania scolded him about calling someone his. The other male did make a point as Taiyo didn’t own anyone but he meant to say the mage that worked for him as his personal transportation mage. Taiyo figured based on their interactions already that Hania didn’t like him much. The guy was so different and he could feel the chills emanating off of him. Was it due to his ince affinity or was it just how he looked at Taiyo? The young Vermillion boy couldn’t quite figure that out. ”My apologies. I didn’t mean it like that. Next time I’ll refer to her by name and call her the spacial mage that works for my family.”
Next, Hania tackled the question he had asked earlier. Who was he to stop Lucia from doing her job? From the way Hania replied, Taiyo figured he had annoyed the other male just by asking the question. Even so, Hania’s calm approach to answering was a bit unsettling to Taiyo. He was so accustomed to being scolded in a harsh loud way that when Hania calmly replied, it had him totally silent. The other appealed to him from the standpoint of being heir to the family name. Hania told him that he was a magic knight and heir and as such he had to grow up and prove that he was worthy of such titles which meant not having things done the easy or convenient way. Humbled by the words Hania spoke, Taiyo went silent. How could he even reply? Inside, he felt terrible and guilty but he did his best not to let it be shown on his face. He simply nodded and followed the other.
When his temper rose, Hania looked to him with that same neutral expression that felt cold to Taiyo. He addressed Taiyo’s anger which made the boy notice. He took a few breaths and calmed himself, feeling slightly embarrassed. He was making a fool out of himself in front of his superior and fellow heir. ”I’m sorry, I guess I have to learn how to control that anger. I just don’t like the fact that people came here and lost their lives like that. I will try to do better.” The once loud boy was quieter. He surely had a lot to think about already and he would use this experience to grow as a person and as a knight. This was added on to the fact that Hania called him a hyperactive idiot. The other male wasn’t wrong in the slightest. ”And I’ll keep it down too.”
Hania had spoken against his suggestion and he was right. Taiyo nodded which made him start to think of new ways for them to do this mission. His direct method wasn’t going to get the job done and it may even add casualties which was the opposite of what they needed at this moment. He didn’t know how to process what ways were best so he closed his eyes and tried to focus by shutting out all distractions. This meditative technique was one he had been taught from when he was a child but he never thought he would ever utilize it. He pictured the evidence in his head. Female tourists visiting to enjoy Raque, A serial killer who could very well not have emotions and two magic knights wearing Crimson Lion mantles which would bring lots of attention to them already as is. A direct approach of asking the people around would be stupid since it would alert the serial killer and even if it didn’t, he or she would be able to lie and get themselves out without giving away their identity. Another line of thought would be to sit back and wait to see if something else happened but that wasn’t really a good plan as they were trying to prevent anything else from happening. Another way would be to set a trap as they were two of them and only one serial killer, at least so it would seem. It was hard trying to come up with a sure plan when this was all new to him. He was starting to get mentally frustrated and wanted to get some help from Hania but he also figured that the other male had a plan in the event that he couldn’t come up with a good plan. He sighed, opening his eyes slowly. ”I’m sorry, I have stupid ideas that won’t work in this setting. We can’t exactly take off our mantles and pretend to be from around here nor can we create a diversion to reveal the culprit while the other traps him. The only other thing I could think of is being calm and waiting to see what happens next but that could be bad too.” He looked down, feeling like his ideas were worthless and not really contributing to anything.

[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]Hania looked to the other for a moment, he knew he meant nothing by his words but he needed to start realising that words had power more so from people of their standing. "We live in a world where our every movement is watched by everyone, it isn't a favourable place to be in but it is our lives and so we must be careful of our words and actions." he continued the younger male's education, he had to wonder just how much of a bubble the other had been living in to believe that his words would have no consequences, in fact, he wondered how in the gods' name did he become heir to his family when he was so unaware of social cues. He had heard stories of the Vermilion and if Taiyo was their heir he had to wonder what caused the family to go downhill in his opinion.
He wouldn't voice his thoughts on that matter he would chalk it up to a nativity that he had never possessed, that wasn't to say it was a bad thing just he couldn't even imagine being in a life where he could be so care-free. "I don't think you meant anything by it but others may and that is why we need to be careful. What we say and do will have consequences on our families as heirs and families as magic knights." he sighed gently, he wasn't wanting to put the weight of the world on another person's shoulders as he understood that burden all to well but the other either needed to suck it up like himself had all these years or step down and allow another take the role he had in the case of his family and resign as a magic knight because it wasn't going to get any easier going forward.
"All you would need to say is their name wants to help me, that would be enough." he said with a softer tone "I still have a nanny her name is Winter and she'd kick me from one side of the kingdom to the next if I spoke about her the way you did about the one that helps look after you." he said, his voice showing a fondness towards the woman that helped look after him since he was still a child and continued to do to that day. "Even if hired by your family they obviously care about you and I would suggest starting to look at them as family and not just the hired help." it was clear that he was speaking from personal experience on that one, someone didn't need to be blood to be family care comes into it and it was clear the woman cared for Taiyo.
The elder male watched the younger quietly, he was doing his best to hide how he was feeling but there were still microexpressions that he wouldn't be able to hide from the more astute and observant man. "Don't let it trouble you, it will just burden you at the end of the day, it isn't worth it. Learn from it and move on." it was as simple as that as far as the white-haired male was concerned. It would seem like the other on the other hand was taking it hard, he wasn't one for pep talks outside of when he was forced to place nice with the other kids in court, if he wanted one of those he could talk to their captain it seemed right up his ally. To be honest, he was pretty sure it was a requirement to be captain at this point.
He sighed softly "There will be times that you can let your anger out all you want, if you ever feel like training I'll happily take you up on that challenge so you can get the excess frustration out." he offered the other as they stood under a willow tree "Problem is most of the time becoming hot-headed on a mission is going to cause nothing but issues and if you wanted to do that you joined the wrong squad but I head the Black Bulls are always looking for people willing to destroy things for a good cause." he said looking over the area, he personally felt that the Black Bulls were reckless and done unneeded damage at the best of times but his best friend was from that squad so he guessed that Chisana was the chaos in his otherwise controlled world which he didn't mind.
"Much appreciated." he said as the other said he wouldn't be so loud in a calmer voice, it was an improvement so he would commend him on that. He quietly waited as the younger male thought on everything that he had been told attempting to come up with a plan of action. "Your second suggestion is actually the most logical." he said as much as he hated it, one of them being bait was going to be the best thing for them to do he just didn't like out of the pair of them he was the one going to end up in a dress. "And there is no such thing as a foolish idea when you are trying to sort something out, even if there was don't dip your head like a scolded child. A plan doesn't work throw it out and look for a new solution, it is that easy." he said moving back out of the park and towards a dress shop his umbrella still keeping him dry from torrential rain, he was still under the assumption the other would be following him to where he was going.

[attr="class","silasreescroll"]Taiyo nodded as Hania was right. Their lives were going to be under constant watch not only as magic knights but as heirs to their respective families. Nobles already had a bad taste in many people’s mouths due to the arrogance and vanity of many of other nobles that did things to paint a bad picture of nobility. Here they were very different nobles from the bad ones but there was still the stigma from that. They had to set an example and make a difference. Their words and actions would show their character to those who watched and it could prove others wrong about what they thought of nobles.
[break][break]
He was going to have to change his outlook of life slightly from just the things Hania voiced. Taiyo was naive but he was willing to learn and grow. ”You are absolutely right.”
[break][break]
Taiyo could see the fondness and admiration in Hania’s face when he spoke of his nanny Winter. He could tell just from his face that she would have to be one amazing person. From what Taiyo could see, Hania didn’t show much emotion often but since she was special to him, his emotions were out on display. ”Your nanny Winter sounds terrifying.” He said that in a good way, not trying to insult Hania’s nanny. ”I mean that in a good way, by the way. Lucia is very close and I do view her like an older sister. I just never verbalized it. I will make sure she knows how I view her.”
[break][break]
Hania was right when he spoke about anger. Taiyo couldn’t let his anger get the best of his and jeopardize the mission. He winced when the other told him that he should have joined the Black Bulls instead if he was going to be a hot-head on missions. Taiyo did get angry fast and he was a bit of a hot-head but that was by no means a determining factor for him to be a black bull. He was a vermillion and like most of the members in his family, he was a Crimson Lion. ”No thanks, I am a Crimson Lion and that’s not going to change.”
[break][break]
His head shot up when Hania told him not to dip his head like a scolded child and that his ideas weren’t stupid. His second idea was the one that Hania decided would be wise. A decoy and someone watching to see who takes the bait. ”Well then, out of the both of us, I think you should be the one to be disguised. I don’t exactly pass the requirements and you’re quite a pretty looking boy. I didn’t mean that in any way though.”

[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]Hania listened to the other as they walked towards the dress store, he didn't need to be told he was absolutely correct because he already knew that he was. He had been a member of his family for thirteen years within the first three months of being adopted his education of expectations had started. The first thing that was drilled into him was actions had consequences and depending on the action the consequences could tarnish his family. He came to understand were small mistakes would still be punished but otherwise overlooked more severe mistakes would end badly. "I am well aware I am correct." he said calmly listening to the rain hitting his umbrella. He knew that he was older than the other by a few years but he had been what he would class as a free noble for less time than the other had been one and still had more sense.
He had no real understanding as to what his families social status was before he was thrown out, he was only five years old and was locked away. He was given what he needed to survive and nothing more but his parents always dressed finely so he believed that they were well off. When he was adopted it was accepted by the other nobles that he was an orphan from another noble family, when he did a little digging he found out it was because his new family didn't muddy their blood. He accepted that he had been a noble the entire time but never knew, he hadn't even bothered to look into what his former life's families status was, albeit he didn't know his true last name. It had been something that was starting to creep into his mind recently, he wanted to know who he really was.
It was silly he knew that. He was no longer that child, he was no longer linked to them as he once was and yet he still wanted to know. He should be happy with his current life, he had a loving family even if it was a bit of a mixed bag, had everything he could ever want or desire. For all pretence and purposes, he had the entire world kneeling at his feet and yet he needed to know this information, information that had meant very little to him in the past. He may have to talk to Lydia about it, he knew she would be supportive and try to put his mind at ease, she may even tell him to forget that life as it was no longer his life. He honestly could do with that talk now but it was one that would have to wait till he saw her again.
"Winter is terrifying." he said simply as they continued walking down a road to their destination "She was once a very strong magic knight within the Coral Peacocks." he informed the other "From what I've heard she was the front runner to take on the captain's position during her time as a magic knight but she resigned to look after Alyssa Lilygate." he continued keeping aware of his surroundings if he knew anything of the noble houses he would recognise the Lilygate family name. They were a powerful family in their own right and had been allied to the Ravencrest for generations. It was also known they were more than likely going to be becoming a main family like his own and the Ravencrest due to their loyalty and devotion, especially in recent times. He would also know that the Lilygate called Raque home.
"She specializes in healing, attack, defence and restraining." he let the other know, the Lilygate wanted someone who could cover what they were known for within the person who looked after their heiress when she was young and now Lydia wanted someone who would be able to protect Hania when he was at his most vulnerable no matter the threat that was aiming for his life. It was also important for the family that the person who looked after the white-haired heir would be discrete given his 'conditions'. Winter had fulfilled her role dutifully and continued to do so even now, the woman was more like a mother to the teen but boy did she have the temperament of a mother bear that could quite possibly rival his sisters. He was blessed to have both women in his life regardless of how difficult things were at times.
"You don't have to verbalize it." he said stopping to look at him "Actions and deeds are worth more than words." he said before sighing "When was the last thing you gave her a gift for no reason? When was the last thing you paid for her to go to a spa or go on a shopping spree? When was the last thing you made her a drink or cooked her something? When was the last time you asked her if she would like to go for a walk or go out for lunch as your treat?" he knew these were things that many nobles overlooked even within staff they favoured, he made sure to show Winter that she was loved and appreciated. "When was the last time you even said thank you to her before running through a portal she has made for you? Here is a better question does she still call you by a title because if the answer is yes, you don't see her like family you still see a servant."
He wasn't mincing his words, he realized he may be coming off harsh but it was simple to see he was coddled his entire life, he was likely told he was special and that he was the best. Hania was acting as his reality check because sense had to be knocked into him before he did something stupid or caused someone their life. He saw the younger male wince when he suggested he should join the black bulls if he was going to be so reckless. "Well if you are a Crimson Lion act like one and not some reckless idiot. As it stands you are a little boy playing magic knight with daddies mantle with your antics, you have no balance and till you can find yours you are going to continue to fumble." he said before turning around and walking once more.
He stopped suddenly and looked over his shoulder "Lions show pride. We don't dip our heads ever, remember that." he said before continuing into the dress shop closing his umbrella as he did so. The staff would look surprised to have the pair inside the shop, more so Hania as the Ravencrest were known for getting their clothing specifically tailored for their needs. Two assistants ran forward one taking the umbrella while the other being greeted by Hania bowing slightly his hand going to his chest, with his left hand a little bit away from his body, palm faced towards the woman. "I am sorry to inconvenience you all but I am looking for a dress." he said before standing looking at the shocked young woman in front of him.
"Y... yes of course. Is there any particular you are looking for Lord Ravencrest." the woman asked her tone showing she was unsure what to do at current. "Hania will be fine." he informed her, he disliked being called lord to begin with but being called his last name was just cringy outside of a formal setting. "I am looking for a simplistic yet elegant dress in silk or high-grade cotton, no pattern unless embroidered. The dress colours have to be white, ice blue and perhaps silver. Ribbons, cords or hairpieces should match the colours as should any jewellery offered. Hair should be simplistic but match the elegance of the dress and the makeup should be natural." he informed the woman who blinked as he ran through exactly what he was looking for. "Oh and the dress is for me." he added calmly that caused the woman's mouth to drop as she hadn't expected that.
"Have I said anything untoward?" he asked his voice sounding somewhat frustrated, she shook her head but an older member of staff walked over having taking down the requirements of the dress Hania was looking for. "Please follow me and we can see if we have anything that fits your requirements Hania." the older male said walking off glaring at the younger woman, Hania nodded his head "Thank you for taking my request at such short notice." he said following the man "May I ask..." "Why I am needing a dress for myself?" he finished the man's sentence, the man nodded "I am sure you have heard of the murders of the young women visiting town." he informed the other who nodded "Yes, it is quite terrible. Their poor families." he said as he started taking Hania's measurements
"Well out of myself and my colleague I'm more likely to pass as a woman." he said. The man chuckled "Seems you got the short end of that stick." he said having friendly conversation with him as if he was like a regular customer which Hania appreciated "Indeed, but it is our duty to make sure the one doing it faces justice so in this case, it means I am needing a dress." he said watching as the man moved off starting to look through the dresses that they had in stock that would fit his requirements while a young woman took him to a chair and started to do his makeup while another done his hair "Flats or heels." the man asked "Heels." he said as he may as well make this look believable, that shocked the staff a little but they would fulfil the request.
After his hair and makeup were done he changed into the dress and slipped into the strappy heels and walked out to see Taiyo, it the younger male didn't know any different he would have believed that Hania was in fact a young woman. "We best be going, Taiyo please get my mantle." he said walking towards the door in the heels without any difficulty, it was as if he was well versed in how to walk in the things. He opened the umbrella that he had gotten to match the outfit and walked out once more into the rain to await Taiyo so they could head back towards the park.
[attr="class","silasreescroll"]With a simple nod, Taiyo accepted what Hania said and moved with him. He continued listening to him as he went on to talk about his nanny, Winter. He mentioned that she was terrifying. Taiyo immediately mentally said he wouldn’t want to get on her bad side if Hania was terrified of her. As he explained her association with the Coral Peacocks Magic Knight Squad, Taiyo understood why she would be terrifying. Being the runner up to the captain was by far no easy feat and the vice captain Taiyo knew had some serious power behind her. If Winter was anything like Lydia, Taiyo would probably be silent in fear of saying the wrong thing.
[break][break]
As Hania started speaking about using actions rather than words, he started to tear into Taiyo’s soul. Taiyo may have thought Lucia as family but his actions didn’t show it. He hadn’t ever given her a gift just because. He hadn’t ever paid for her to have an enjoyable day getting pampered and massaged or even to go shopping. He wasn’t exactly great in the kitchen but he could have made her a snack which he never did. He never did any of the things to prove that she was his family yet he knew he would change that once he was finished with the mission here. Hania had enlightened him and now he was going to grow because of that.
[break][break]
When the other started telling him he was more suited for the Black Bulls with the way he was getting angered, it did hurt him a bit. As he defended his standing with Crimson Lions, Hania struck him down with more words. The other had told him he was still a boy playing magic knight with his father’s mantle and that statement pissed Taiyo off. Even so, Hania did raise a point and Taiyo had to accept it instead of fighting back trying to defend himself since in this case he was totally wrong. He had chosen to remain silent unless the situation called for it otherwise.
[break][break]
Lions show pride, not dip their heads. Those were the other’s words to the young heir. I’ll be sure to remember that. He would walk into a clothing store with Hania and wait as the other heir got served. Hania was making his request known to the staff who had addressed him with formalities to which he told them that they should refer to him in a familiar sense with his name. Taiyo waited patiently as Hania went with them to get measurements done. After Hania was done, he walked out to the orange hair heir and to his surprise, the Ravencrest heir was dressed in heels. He couldn’t understand how he could walk let alone stand in heels but he wouldn’t dare bring up the question. As Hania commanded him to grab the mantle, he nodded still looking at Hania in shock because if he didn’t know any better, he would believe Hania was a woman. Shaking out of his little daze, he grabbed the mantle and followed Hania out of the store. Wow, you… no offense but you make a beautiful woman.

[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]Hania waited outside under his umbrella listening to the gentle pitter-patter of the raindrops hitting the material that was protecting him from the rain. He turned his gaze to his fellow heir as he walked out of the store, a gentle smile was on his lips his other hand going to his chest a little almost as if he was a shy young woman. It was as if he was a completely different person at current. He had to admit he didn't like the feel of the fabric, he could tell the difference in what he usually wore and what he found himself currently wearing but it didn't show on his face. He looked back to the door of the store as it opened and the owner walked out and quickly placed a cloak around his shoulders before clasping it at the front "Thank you, but you didn't need to." Hania said confused at what happened.
He put the umbrella over the man to protect him from the rain not worried if he was getting wet at that moment, he was covered. He walked with the man back to the store "You could have opened the door and requested I step back in." he said the man just chuckled "I couldn't imagine seeing a young woman walking around in this type of weather without a cloak to help protect them from the elements." the man said, Hania lifted one side of the dress skirt and gave a small curtsy "Thank you for looking after me sir." he said with a delicate voice and a small giggle, what was worse was it was completely believable. It caught the owner off-guard but he just bowed a little "That's quite alright miss, please take care." he said closing the door behind him leaving the pair alone.
He looked at Taiyo as he commented on his looks "Keep speaking like that and you'll find yourself getting into several accidents." he said bringing the umbrella back over his head. With that, he moved himself walking back towards the park, surprisingly it was still a few people around but less than before. He stopped before any could be seen by any of those within the park "Find a perch out of sight, as much as I may not like it you are overwatch now and I have to trust you to spot anyone that could be trying to attack me." he said walking into the park and started to walk around eventually getting to the pond to watch the ducks. He was fully aware of a person close by but he acted as if he didn't. He needed to believe that Taiyo would be capable of making sure that he was safe. Because he may end up teaming with someone who wasn't sensory sensitive.
[attr="class","silasreescroll"]Taiyo got scolded, sort of by Hania on basically watching his tongue. The fact that Hania took offense to his comment said a lot and Taiyo was definitely out of line. He would nod respectfully to Hania while still holding the mantle of the other. The rain drowned the silence that was in the air which was good. Taiyo would be given the job of being overwatch by Hania which he already knew was coming. That was the whole point of Hania being dressed up like a woman. This was a big responsibility and Taiyo was ready to prove to Hania that he was competent and capable of doing this job. He was from House Vermillion after all and although he wasn’t seen as amazing like the former heirs were, he was still the current heir of the family.
[break][break]
I won’t let you down, Hania. Good luck to you. After bowing one more time, he would put on a bit of a solar aura to protect him from the wet weather. He would be sure to stay warm and keep dry with this. I’ll make sure not to alert attention to myself. You can trust in me.
[break][break]
After parting ways with the Ravencrest heir, Taiyo would look for a good place that would serve as his vantage point. He needed somewhere that would not only conceal his location but give him a good view of where Hania was. The spot should also help him spot any suspicious figures in the area that way he could be moving at a moment’s notice. After scaling the walls and getting to the rooftops, Taiyo would find a spot that would serve his purpose. He was in position. The rain, though it wasn’t much of a problem, was quite annoying to the young heir. He never liked gloomy weather. He was more interested in sunshine and rainbows. He guessed that meant that the rain had to fall sometimes anyway since there is no rainbow without the rain.
[break][break]
Another contributor to his weather preferences was his magic. He was the wielder of Solar Magic. Though it usually meant he had sunshine on him at all times, he still preferred the real thing. Even so, he was quite happy to experience the changes of the seasons and learn about that. Once the weather wasn’t pouring rain or it wasn’t blizzards of snow, he was pretty happy with that. Anyway, it was time for him to focus on his task. He kept his eyes on Hania while still looking around for suspicious activity.
[break][break]
It was time! Taiyo had spotted a mysterious person approaching Hania. This person seemed suspicious in the way they were walking. Could they be the murderous guy slaying innocent girls? More than likely, the person might be that guy. Taiyo had to act fast… not that Hania would need his help but Hania was trusting him so he had to deliver. Taiyo would make his way off the roof while trying to think up a way to save Hania without ruining their cover. There, he had it! He could only hope that the other heir wouldn’t kill him for this. Rushing over to the park where the guy was much closer to his partner, Taiyo would fold his arms. There you are! You just couldn’t resist the urge of watching the ducks, couldn’t you dear? Taiyo would have his grimoire hidden but in the event that the mysterious person made an attempt to attack, he could have it out and spell ready in seconds. He was ready for this. He could only pray for his safety from Hania after this mission was over.

[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]Hania remained still looking at the ducks, his umbrella above his head protecting him from the rain a gentle smile on his face. He looked unassuming as to his surroundings, he guessed that was how the girls were. They hadn't been trained to look for the dangers around them, they were in Raque for fun and it had been their downfall. It stopped here and now, he wouldn't allow another family to have to feel the pain of burying a daughter to this bastard because they likely turned him down or he had some weird craving. This town had suffered too much and it wouldn't be happening any longer if he could help it. He kept his breathing steady, even as he felt him growing ever closer his posture didn't change. He seemed as helpless as those girls, he wanted to kill him, to make him suffer for all the suffering he had caused.
The difference was he knew right from wrong, he knew he had no right to play judge, jury and executioner with this man's life, he had no right to take it. Then again, even though he could have easily moved out of Taiyo's line of sight and managed to kill him and turn him into a popsicle getting rid of the remains he wouldn't. A quick death was far too easy for someone like him. No. He would have to suffer from living, he would have to face the victim's families, see the faces of those he hurt through his selfish desires. He would have to go to prison and be treated like the piece of filth he was for harming defenceless women who couldn't protect themselves from the onslaught that he brought to them. "Death comes on swift wings for all those who play god." he whispered to himself.
It was when he was so close that he could feel the man's warmth on his back he heard Taiyo's voice, his eyes going wide as he was trying to figure out what the hell he was thinking. He was meant to be overwatch and here he was being anything but, he was going to have to get the Vermillion heir a dictionary as a gift before they left town he was sure about that. 'That idiot.' He thought the man instantly backing away as if he made some sort of mistake, there was no way to know if this was the culprit or just someone who was innocent. More so as the man backed away casually, Taiyo was also likely still wearing his mantle which made it even worse, he could already feel the migraine coming on 'I've changed my mind on who I'm going to kill, they're both dead.' he thought to himself.
He smiled sweetly and nodded "Yes, thank you for escorting me. It was so nice of the heir of the Vermillion household to take care of me." his voice sounded like a shy young woman, he wasn't looking at the man directly but he was keeping watch through his peripheral vision for any micro-expressions. It would be the only way he could be sure thanks to acting in the wrong way, he knew it wasn't his fault this was still new to him and he was still finding his footing but it didn't take away that want to kill him. Though it was hidden well he saw the rage within the man's micro-expressions, this was enough for Hania to act. Jumping he done a roundhouse kick to the man's head to daze him but it wasn't enough to get the man on the floor.
As he landed he dropped to the ground and swiped his feet from him making him land hard on the ground a hunters knife falling from the man's pocket. Getting up quickly Hania moved to where the man was trying to get up kicking the blade out of reach before putting his foot on his throat applying enough pressure to where he'd be knocked out but not killed "You know what an overwatch is meant to do right Taiyo." he said less than impressed "Also if I couldn't read micro-expressions then what were we going to be doing because there was no proof he was the killer." he said clearly unhappy though his voice was still calm "Overwatches, look over the person when they see a threat Taiyo. He was merely approaching, if he was a threat then you could have flared your mana a little or threw up a flare like a firework." he said in the attempts to teach him
He didn't care at the fact the other was likely going to be wondering how the hell he managed to do what he did in heels and a dress. "Go get the guards, he can be arrested and put on trial for his crimes." he said making sure to keep the pressure on to keep him unconscious, he, of course, would ease it until he felt any movement then the pressure would start once again. He leaned down collecting the man's grimoire opening to read it "Well that would have been problematic... chain magic..." it was further proof that the man was just some sort of lonely loser as he approached than attacked from afar. It had finally come to an end though and for that he was happy.
