[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]Time had passed since the controversial starcrossed overshoot had happened, people had been a buzz both positive and negative. He, himself, had been asked why he would take part in such a thing. His conscious and morals were also called into question, that was something he himself didn't like. He believed himself an honourable person and he wouldn't allow himself to be slandered because he took part in a photoshoot with someone who was tonedeaf to the pain and suffering of others. He had firmly and politely reminded the people that had thought such negative things that he knew people who had been within the towns as they happened. That a close family friend was in mourning due to the events and that he knew people who went to free Kikka so they shouldn't automatically make assumptions on his character. He also informed them that he had no idea what the theme was when he agreed to take part.
As expected they were always caught off-guard by his response, it was never a good idea to throw mud at a main noble family especially if you had no evidence that they had done nothing wrong. He added that even he asked if the photographer was insane when he had found out, and if they wished to check they could do so. He gave them the name of the hairdresser and makeup artist that tended to deal with him when he modelled. The normally ended up looking like guppies with how their mouths hung open a they hadn't expected the answers he gave back, there of course where a few that believed he would have bought the staff to say what he wanted.
That made him glare at the individual as he told them others may throw their power around like that but it wasn't the way of his family and they would be best to hold their tongue lest something happen to it. They got the message real quick. Hania wasn't a violent man, he was more a scholar but it didn't mean he would allow himself or his family be dragged through the mud by people who made assumptions based on images, gossip or personal bias against them just because they had a fortunate life. That was when they started to understand that they made a misstep with the Ravencrest heir and he was having none of it. He was curious about Verena and how she was reacting to this kind of thing, but then, it wasn't as if she was the one playing the daemon within the shoot just the unfortunate soul that had fallen in love with one. He could take nip this in the bud, he was unsure she would be able to do the same.
He had gotten another request recently to model from Zel, what was strange was that within the letter he assured the youth that he wouldn't ever be put in the situation he was placed in last time. He knew that meant one thing, Lydia had found out and had a word with Zel and likely the staff. He had to wonder if this was truly the case then why would he be requested to do another shoot by this photographer. His name was starting to be known as a model, his looks were desirable he knew just by how he kept being called pretty boy and how women seemed to gush over him. In honesty, it made him want to roll his eyes but he never had, he couldn't really decide how others viewed him as much as he may have liked to.
This time he had been told to bring another with him, that was new. He thought of many things and decided if he was going to have to suffer the gaudy looking flower yet again then so was Taiyo, it would also stand as yet another lesson of what was expected as an heir. He would just have no idea what to expect. He sent a letter to the Vermillion estate with a time, date and place they would meet, he used his personal seal so they would know who exactly sent it. When it was the day had come he would be waiting at the designated area. It was still a bit chilly but the sun was out and it was clearly starting to warm up but it didn't seem to phase the white-haired male stood silently, Amostia himself was perched on a tree nearby.
His hair was laying flat on his back as he wore a silk white changshan and magua there was an ice blue hem to both as well as five silver buttons going down the front, on his feet he wore white hanfu boots with an embroidered ice blue phoenix on both. It wasn't what he normally wore but it was comfortable for the walk he had taken to get here and he could train in it when he got back to the estate so he saw it was a win-win situation as far as he was concerned. He had personally requested to train with Arata and Victoria that day, but, he was pretty sure he was going to end up going through a gauntlet with all four generals since it had been a while since he had done one.

[attr="class","silasreescroll"]Taiyo had been in the squad for a while now and so he had gotten comfortable with his squad mates. Well at least most of them. He had been most familiar with Leonard, naturally. That was mainly because they grew up together almost as brothers. Other than that, he has been getting to know more about the other people in his squad. Even so, they were some that he didn’t particularly get along with.
[break][break]
He was still pretty terrified of the vice captain Lydia. She had knocked him out without even moving a finger. Given, he did bump into her that time and knocked her out of her seat while spilling her wine all over her new dress. She didn’t even hit him but the aura surrounding her was enough to send the poor boy into a state of heightened fear which rendered him unconscious for a few minutes.
[break][break]
Then there was Hania. Hania Ravencrest, the one person Taiyo had respect for because of his calm and his strange way of scolding and teaching him with words. He respected the others, yes, but they had shown power and strength which the young heir found admirable but when it came to Hania, his lessons were what Taiyo benefitted from. He still couldn’t help but think that the other heir didn’t exactly like him much due to his at time harsh words. Who knew, Hania probably wasn’t even trying to be harsh but that was just the reality of it.
[break][break]
Taiyo was brought out of his thoughts by one of house Vermillion servants who had brought him mail. He bowed respectfully and accepted the envelope. As he looked at it, he saw the seal on it and instantly knew who sent the mail. It was Hania. This was his way of contacting the young heir. He opened the letter up and started to read it, seeing a request for Taiyo to join Hania. The letter was very specific about the time, date and place. Immediately getting up from his seat, Taiyo walked up to his room to prepare for whatever Hania would have him do. As he didn’t have any details on what the mission was, he figured that he would dress in his usual outfit for outings. A navy blue tunic with gold trimmings and navy baggy trousers and his squad mantle.
[break][break]
When it was the day of the mission, he would wake up early and write a note for his parents to know that he was not going to be around since he would be on mission with Hania Ravencrest. Unlike the usual where he would call for Lucia, House Vermillion’s spacial mage, Taiyo decided he would physically walk.
[break][break]
After being educated by Hania, he changed how he interacted with most of the staff at the Vermillion house but more so Lucia. He took her out to dinner and treated her just to show that he considered her family. He also had her be more familiar with him instead of being so formal.
[break][break]
On arrival, he would spot Hania and Amostia and walk up to them, being five minutes early. Hey, Hania. I am here as you requested.

[attr="class","header"]Someone's in trouble
[break] She was slowly healing with her hometown now that the waters had receded and most of the reconstruction had been finished, it didn't take away from the pain that she felt in her heart. She still missed her mothers who she had lost tragically in the attack on Raque, Lydia and her cousin Victoria were helping her in the mourning process not that she got much time to do it. Duty was always calling and she was one to always answer it, such was her calling as the head of her family, a noble, a magic knight and a captain. Sometimes she wished she could just run away from it all but she knew that just wouldn't do, what sort of message would that send to people. Raque already had one captain walk away due to them not wanting to deal with the shame or aftermath of the attack. [break][break] She had been left holding the bag, she never wanted to become a captain of a squad, in fact, she never strived for any position within her squad. She just wanted to do her duty to the best of her ability, fate decided to fuck up that plan royally. She had been given kind words by Lydia and reminded that she was doing a good job, she was thankful for the words but still, she felt overwhelmed even if she never showed it. It was unbecoming for someone of her status to show the cracks on their currently fragile mask. When she visited Lydia last at the Ravencrest estate within the province of Carrion she broke down in the pink-haired woman's arms as she finally told one of the few people she trusted outside of her own family what had happened. She knew that Victoria would have also been in mourning but wouldn't have said a word. [break][break] She knew that in her cousin's mind it was her decision on who would be told and who wouldn't, she loved her family and they had a mutual respect for each other. It was like they were all roots that supported one singular ancient tree, it was perfect, beautiful and strong. Right now their tree was far from perfect, it was weakened due to hurt but in time she was sure it would get stronger once more. Time healed all wounds and she knew that her mothers wouldn't want her to mourn for too long, death was a natural part of life; she grew knowing and accepting it but she believed her parents would leave her naturally not because some bitchy daemon wanted to turn her hometown into their personal swimming pool. She still had survivors guilt and knew that Lydia herself felt guilt. [break][break] She didn't see the pink-haired vice-captain as guilty of anything, she did her duty to the best of her ability and that was anyone could have asked of her. She tried to put the other's mind at ease whether she had done so or not was a completely different story. After her visit to Carrion, she returned home to a letter, it was strange as she didn't really get letters to her personal estate, opening it she read a letter requesting her to do a photo shoot with a photographer known as Zel. That name rang a bell, her cousin spoke about his work highly, fashion was a guilty pleasure for her warrioress cousin. Turns out she rather concerned about the last issue, it was a starcrossed lovers shoot, to her that was harmless enough until she heard the topic. A human and a daemon. This man must have been tone-deaf to how daemons affected people recently. [break][break] What made it worse was that the heir of the Ravencrest family was playing the daemon, she really didn't want to be that photographer after Lydia found out. Lydia allowed those in her family freedom so longs it didn't fall back negatively on the family, she was protective of her families name and her family members at large; however, she was beyond protective when it came to her little brother. Alyssa had no idea if it was because she knew something the world didn't, if it was because of how they met, the illnesses that made him still require a nanny at his age though that wasn't a well-known piece of information or if it was because of losing Augustas. Whatever the reason was she didn't want to be the person that messed with her little brother at the end of the day. [break][break] The letter itself had spoken about how the photographer would like to do a shoot with her and three others, a male had been chosen and requested to bring someone with him. It would seem like she had been chosen too and requested to bring someone with her. If it was going to be the same thing he pulled before she would put him through a wall personally and deal with whatever the aftermath of that may be. She instantly sent a letter to Lydia requesting for her to come model with her, she said it be nice to do something girlie again like the old days and that they could even go for a nice picnic in their favourite spot afterwards. She added in the details of when, the time and where they should be meeting up. She even added a picture of her smiling and one of Lydia's favourite flowers. [break][break] When done she had one of the messengers of the house deliver it before dealing with other tasks. Soon enough the day of the shoot came, she moved into a carriage and went to the town of Silva where she was to meet Lydia. She was dressed in a spring green dress with white frills on the sleeves and matching heels, her hair was tied up in a floral bun, spring green ribbons were going through it and as was a blue lotus. Soon enough the carriage stopped and a man exited holding his hand out to help Alyssa out "Thank you Jacob, please spend some time getting something wonderful for your wife. Also, you and Jacob should go to the fair today, it looks like it would be a great time to bond. Everything is on me no need to worry." she said to the man. [break][break] "You are as kind as always miss." he said bowing just a little, Alyssa just smiled and walked off allowing the father and son to spend time in town until they were needed for departure. Seeing the two teenagers she waved a little "Hello Hania, you seem well." she said with a courtesy knowing the young white-haired air would bow before taking her hand to kiss it as he always had. "Ever the gentleman I see." she chuckled looking to Taiyo "Ah, the young Vermillion heir. How are you Lord Vermillion?" she would enquire her senses going out as she waited to feel the familiar aura of Lydia approaching.
[attr="class","florencetext"] It has been a interesting few days for the head of the Ravencrest family. Her family was currently under fire for a photoshoot that Hania did over a month ago but had just recently been released. She of course didn't blame her younger brother for it as he didn't know what it was about until he was there. Lydia had of course taught him that if you agree to something that you see it through to the end. She of course understood why people were upset about it after all she had been at Raque and the second attempt to retake Kikka so the glass mage knew first hand just how much they kingdom had suffered from the deamons. Hania did most of the damage control but Lydia did some herself and would always remind people that the Ravencrest were nothing but loyal to clover. It would take a few more days for the talking to die down but overall it wouldn't hurt the family at all. [break][break] The vice captain had of course spoke to the person Zel who was in charge of the said photoshoot. She made it very clear what would happen if he pulled a stunt like that again let alone with a member of the Ravencrest family and he of course swore he wouldn't do something like that again. Lydia however was surprised to get a letter from Alyssa the night before it wasn't the letter itself that came as a surprise as the two wrote to each other almost daily if they could. However it was the fact that the Lillygate head asked Lydia to come modeling with her. The glass mage didn't think she'd get to meet the other so soon as it had only been four days since Alyssa visited Carrion. The visit itself was eventful as the blue rose captain broke down it Lydia's arms and told her that Alyssa's mothers had died in Raque. Lydia of course did her best to help her friend mourn but the vice captain blamed herself for what happened to Raque as she was there before it flooded. [break][break] Alyssa of course tried to tell Lydia it wasn't her fault and that the Ravencrest did everything she could. While Lydia was grateful for the words it didn't make the light mage feel like it was any less her fault. After all if she hadn't been so consider on buying a gift she could have stopped the attack before it really happened. After all she was one of the best sensory mages in clover and yet she was to busy with her own personal life to notice a threat to the kingdom and countless people had lost there lives because of it. It was a mistake the vice captain wasn't going to make again. Lydia wasn't sure if she was going to take up the offer at first as modeling was her cup of tea. However Alyssa had taken the time to send the letter and asking Lydia personally not to mention they didn't get much time together. [break][break] The pictures, flowers and date afterwards was just an added boon. So she couldn't really say no could she? A few hours before she was set to leave Lydia would speak to Victoria on if she needed to know anything important about this type of thing as the crimson haired Lillygate was secretly into fashion. The other women simply told her the people would supply the outfit and walk her through everything. So Lydia would set off in her normal outfit and would arrive right on time and just shorty after Alyssa. The glass mage would walk up to the other women taking her handed into her own before kissing the silver haired women on the cheek. Alyssa it's great to see you as always. [break][break] Lydia would then look over at Hania and Taiyo. It's good to see the both of you as well. It looks like whoever is hosting this shoot got pretty lucky.

[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]Hania had only been waiting a few moments before he heard Taiyo before he actually saw him, he sighed a little. He was still loud it would seem, at least he had brought it down a few notches and hadn't run up to him. What made him smile was the fact that he saw the younger male had decided to walk rather than use his families spatial mage as it seemed he had always done. "I am glad to see you once more and that you will be going through the pain of meeting the gaudy tulip known as Zel." he said his left hand going to his chest, his right slightly away from his body with the palm turned towards him. He smiled knowing that Taiyo had no idea what he had gotten himself into by just turning up. "How have you been since we saw each other?" he would enquire.
In honesty he didn't exactly care about how he was, he was more interested in if the other had taken his advice and changed his mannerisms for the better. He had to admit just how he had been approached by the young Vermillion heir had proved at least something got caught in that otherwise empty head of his. It was then he noticed a carriage approach and stop, he recognised the driver, if that wasn't good enough when Jacob stepped out of the carriage that told him who exactly it was within the carriage. He turned his eyes to Taiyo. "Miss Alyssa Lilygate, Captain of the Blue Roses is within that carriage. Mind your manners, like my sister, is very hard to upset but if you do manage it somehow you would rather be facing my sister because she will put you through buildings." he warned the hyperactive young male.
He may have been of higher noble status but the Lilygate were up and coming nobles especially with everything that they had done in the wake of the three attacks. To try and ease the pain and suffering of those affected to the point of opening their own estate to refugees and orphans. That and they had the full backing of his family and out of the higher nobles the Ravencrest held not only the most political power but the most favour shown in the fact that the king himself had given a province to their family which his sister tended to. As she dismissed her carriage driver and steward he watched as she walked towards the pair of young men.
As she curtsied he placed his left on his chest, his right hand was away from his body a little with his open palm turned towards her "I am in good health, thank you for noticing Alyssa. You, of course, look beautiful as ever." he said taking her hand as it was offered and kissed her hand delicately before releasing it. He hoped that Taiyo had common sense and was raised in manners or he was about to get educated once more and not just by him. Soon enough he felt a familiar mana signature, and soon the pink-haired head of his family would be seen. He remained quiet for a moment allowing his sister to address Alyssa first, they had just started dating and so it was a little bit more important in his eyes. "Good to see you to Lyd and in such good spirits." he said with a stoic voice but its undertone held a subtle warmth that would be easily missed if you didn't know what you should be looking for.
Hearing the next part she quirked an eyebrow "You honestly don't know the person who sent the request?" he genuinely seemed surprised as he and Lydia normally did enough legwork to know such basic information, but he guessed that she was Alyssa's plus one as Taiyo was to his. "The photographer in question is Zel and before you say anything... yes... that Zel." he said sighing it was frustrated to no end, he had been given several headaches since but it had seemed to have settled now so he was at least thankful for that. "We should get going." he said turning and walking towards the place that they would meet Zel. This was going to be an interesting experience as he knew his sister wasn't into this kind of thing and given the recent issues she would have had a 'talk' with the photographer because of the scandal he had brought upon their family no matter how mild.
Opening the door he would allow his sister and Alyssa to enter first before heading inside himself, he was sure that Taiyo would be able to catch the door, if not he trusted he knew how to open one. Zel came towards him quickly as always but would stop in his tracks seeing Lydia. Who knew that the hyperactive chipmunk of a photographer could be still, it was surprising. He was wearing white trousers with mint green trim, and a pink frilly shirt with the same mint green trim. 'He's still needing help to get dressed.' he thought to himself before going over to greet him but he seemed to move off as if he remembered something. He looked over his shoulder "Your handy work Lyd?" he enquired a micro smile on his face that only Lydia and Alyssa would notice due to knowing him as well as they did.
[attr="class","silasreescroll"]Taiyo maintained eye contact with the other heir while observing the smile on the other’s face. The smile was quite unnerving considering who it was coming from. Even so, he wouldn’t let it show. He would wait until whatever painful entertainment would come at the hands of Hania’s invitation. From what he knew, Hania wasn’t much of a smiler or a socialist for that matter. He was quiet and he usually kept to himself. When he greeted Taiyo, the young Vermillion heir took note of the words he used to describe this Zel character. It would seem Hania didn’t like the guy very much but then again, Hania didn’t seem to like anyone except for his sister and Winter, maybe the Captain too.
[break][break]
He was a bit surprised when Hania went off to ask him how he had been since the last time they saw each other. Even though that was something that people normally did in conversation, this was Hania. Taiyo didn’t know if the other heir actually or was just being polite. He figured that the other heir wasn’t interested in him but more of a test to see if he was the same hyperactive loudmouth kid in Raque. I hadn’t pegged you for someone who would care about how I’ve been but if you must know, I’ve been well. He then folded his arms before speaking again. If you’re interested in knowing if anything changed, I’ve changed quite a lot and for the better.
[break][break]
As the carriage carrying the Blue Rose Magic Knight squad captain came to a halt, Hania gave an introduction of sorts to who was inside. From the tone, it had seemed that Hania had no faith in him when it comes to being present among nobles. Either way, Taiyo brushed it off and chose not to respond, waiting for Alyssa to exit the carriage. She addressed the driver known as Jacob before addressing Hania, letting him kiss her hand. She then turned her attention to the Vermillion heir, greeting him. I am doing quite well, thank you for asking Miss and how are you doing? He would respectfully bow and kissed her hand like Hania did then stood back up. It is quite a pleasure to personally meet you.
[break][break]
When the vice-captain showed up, Taiyo, just like Hania, allowed her to greet Alyssa first. This wasn’t out of knowledge of a relationship but more so out of respect for the vice-captain. It was here that he learned about the relationship between Lydia and Alyssa. He found it extremely shocking to see Lydia affectionately romantically address someone. He didn’t once think that she wasn’t capable of such a thing but he never expected it to happen before his very eyes. After Lydia greeted him and the other heir, he looked at her skeptically. It’s great to see you as well, Vice-Captain. There is something I would like you to clarify. What exactly do you mean by shoot? You wouldn’t be referring to a photo shoot, would you? Taiyo still had no idea why he was summoned by Hania. He didn’t think too much of the letter since the last one took them on a mission in Raque.
[break][break]
He would follow them as Hania lead them inside, releasing the door. He caught the door and entered. He would look around slowly, taking in his surroundings while waiting for any of the other three to give him some form of direction.

[attr="class","header"]He's an eyesore
[break] Alyssa allowed her hand to be taken by the white-haired heir of the Ravencrest and family and smiled "I see things haven't changed." she said warmly, she knew the young man preferred order and structure, to many he may have appeared as rigid as his element, what they didn't often see was what he dealt with behind the scenes. In honesty, by the conversations she had with Lydia over the years even those closest to him had no idea what was going on with him. She knew that he was abandoned and almost died at a very young age, she couldn't even begin to fathom what that could do to a person's psyche. The issue was she also believed there had to be more to it and as much as she wanted to find out she respected her girlfriends family too much to poke what could be a hornet's nest. [break][break] She smiled feeling her cheek being kissed turning and facing the person who done so, she didn't need to guess who it was as only one person would do such a thing unannounced. Alyssa was known as a mild-mannered and dainty woman, yet a fierce warrioress that could and would put many of her peers to shame. She was quite a contradiction but then nature was in many ways, the prettiest and most delicate things could be the most deadly to a person. "You look as radiant as ever Lydia, I am so glad you accepted my invitation to do this with me." she said leaning in and kissing her cheek softly as she did her own. "I would have to agree they got very lucky that they have three higher nobles." she chuckled. [break][break] She knew her own family was likely going to be elevated to such a station in the future but as of yet, she wasn't on the same level as the others she was currently with. "I see your brother still has his silver tongue, it is hard to believe that he isn't being fawned over by countless young women." she said with a light laugh knowing just how Hania would take that suggestion. It was then her hand was taken once more as she heard Taiyo speak to her hand once again being kissed "Well my Lord Vermillion, I am used to Hania knowing my preference as he grew up around my family but I must say I am taken aback and flattered that you have spent time to learn my personal preferences in greetings." she said showing that she truly didn't expect such a thing, she understood that Vermillion where main nobles and so that meant they would, of course, keep an eye on others. [break][break] "It is a pleasure to meet you also Lord Vermillion, I do hope this is the beginning of a strong bond between our families" she said to the other. Her family were on good terms with most of the other noble houses but that didn't mean that they had created roots with them. The only one that they had done such a thing with was the Ravencrest and that had taken generations if the records were to be believed as both families were cautious on such matters. It was then the younger of the two heirs asked a question tilted her head a little in confusion "We are getting our photos taken Lord Vermillion, we have been asked to model after all." she informed him finding it quite strange that he would be there without knowing what he was walking into. Her eyes looked to Lydia as she leaned in whispering. [break][break] "It isn't normal for your squad to be this reckless is it?" she would ask the pink-haired woman before standing straight once more hearing Hania's words about who the photographer would be. "That poor man, but he did it to himself after that distasteful shoot he decided to do" her voice was still gentle but it was clear that there was a cold snap to it. She had lost her mothers to an archdaemon and their minions and then to see a starcrossed lover theme between a human and a daemon was in bad taste and left a bitter taste within her mouth. She didn't even want to think what Lydia was feeling given it was her families heir that was playing the part of the daemon. She could only imagine the annoyance that Hania had then she knew if he agreed to do something he would keep his word. [break][break] She followed Hania and gave a curtesy as he held the door open for her as they walked into the building. It was then she saw something she never imagined she would ever saw, the mismatched Zel. She knew that some people were eccentric but he was purely just an eyesore to her and wished it was dark so she wouldn't have to look at him. She watched as he was quickly moving towards Hania but seemingly moved away upon seeing Lydia. "I would imagine it is, thank you for saving us from that eyesore Lydia." she said softly leaning over kissing the woman's cheek, she had noticed the micro smile that Hania had given it was clear he was happy about not having to deal with the man.
[attr="class","florencetext"] As Alyssa greeted and kissed Lydia's cheek back a smile would form across the vice-captains face. Unlike the first time, Taiyo would have seen Lydia smile this one wasn't fake. Well I couldn't pass up a chance to get to spend time with you know could I? Even more so when you threw in a picnic and some other gifts inside the letter. As Taiyo was greeting the blue rose vice-captain the glass mage was just as surprised as the other women were with the vermillion heirs greeting. Perhaps he wasn't so hopeless after all or perhaps it was just luck and he managed to guess correctly. Either way, it didn't matter as Lydia didn't have to save the young lion from the wrath of the head of the Lillygate's. [break][break] Lydia would then go on to greet her brother by hugging him and kissing his forehead. It was something the two of them had done since Hania was a child. It was true that Lydia didn't know who was hosting this photoshoot as Alyssa didn't make any mention of it in her letter and so the vice-captain just figured the other women wanted it to be a surprise. However, as Hania told the other three who it was the smile Lydia had on her face would fade away. Zel wasn't exactly someone that she wanted to see so soon again. I figured Alyssa just wanted it to be a surprise but now I have a feeling I know why she didn't tell me who it was. Regardless of if it was Zel or someone else the head of the Ravencrest family wasn't going to let it ruin her day with her brother and girlfriend. [break][break] Lydia would then make her way inside with Alyssa and the other two lions grabbing the formers had as they walked. It didn't take long for Zel to show up and given what he was wearing it made her wonder how if he was really the right person for this job. If the others were to look at Lydia's face when the man showed up they would notice her eyebrows twitched for a moment. Which was something that only happened when she was pissed. After all, hearing about the man and seeing him were two different things. He was making his way towards Hania before he stopped in his tracks when he noticed Lydia. This of course caused questions from the others. [break][break] Lydia's gaze would fall on Zel as she narrowed her eyes before speaking in a cold tone. We might have had a little chat a few days ago. I hope he remembered what I told him. It seemed after a few moments Zel would regain himself and start walking towards Hania again. However, Lydia would step in between him and her younger brother almost as if it was like she was a mother protecting her cub. Before we go any further I want you to tell us what this shoot is about. If it could cause any backlash to our families all four of us will walk out right now. I assume you have no problem with this, do you? Lydia would of course speak all of that in the same cold tone as she did before.

[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]Hania looked to Taiyo as he spoke and quirked an eyebrow "You realize it would be terribly rude of me not to have a conversation with you." he said calmly, he had no idea what the hell was running through the young man's head to think that conversation wouldn't happen. "I will refrain from having idle chit chat in the future however, I would hate to insult the heir of another noble house." It was somewhat passive-aggressive but he didn't care, he had said it in such a way that no insult was given and so no offence should be taken. Had Taiyo lost his cool it would have been house Vermillion that would have looked like inconsiderate assholes, not his own family. He had been around the noble court since he was eight years old when he started going with Lydia or the steward of the family when Lydia couldn't.
At age thirteen he had believed he understood how things worked and so attempted to deal with the noble court, it was after all to be one of his responsibilities if anything ever happened to his sister or she just stepped down. He, of course, hoped neither would happen, more so, any time soon but given their jobs, the former was always a possibility though that would have to be one hell of a fastball, to say the least. "I am glad you have been well and that things have changed for the better." it was clear he was less warm than he had originally been. Insult, though minor, had been given by the other heir and he had no patience for it. Yes, he was interested if things had changed and he hadn't really cared overall but he hadn't made it seem that way. Hania always gauged things before doing anything, it was a pity Taiyo didn't do the same.
He knew the other would believe that he had no faith in him and so far the track record he had was the reason for that. He had so far, in his mind, insulted or irritated every member of the Ravencrest family he had come across. That was not a place you wanted to find yourself, as powerful as well known as the Vermillion once where they were overshadowed now by the Ravencrest. In fact, he believed since the former head of the family Silas had fallen the family had been in a fast decline in power and the hot-headedness of the youths didn't exactly help their cause. To him, it just brought up additional concerns on whether they would be more of a threat to themselves and the kingdom due to their undisciplined and uncouth mannerisms.
"Indeed they have not Alyssa, nor will they anytime soon." he said his voice holding a slight warmness for the woman, Alyssa knew the youth well enough to know that no insult was being given due to his tone. This was actually one of his more endearing tones only used with people he actually cared about on a deep level. "Soon to be four if the rumours are to be believed Alyssa." he said looking at her, there were rumbles in the noble grapevine that the Lilygate were to ascend to the status of a higher noble house. This also meant that likely one of the other houses were falling out of favour, it made the young heir make a mental note to look into that when he returned home. He wouldn't have been surprised if it was noble house Vaude that was in disfavour given their haughty attitudes when they did nothing to be able to do so.
"Alyssa, I understand you're teasing but please, this is neither the time nor the place to worry about my lack of a partner." he wasn't cruel in his words but it was something she often brought up, he knew her heart was in the right place but for him, there was more to a relationship than a pretty face. He knew that his sister and Alyssa had a bond but that was only part of their attraction for each other where for Hania it was the entirety of his attraction for another person. He had yet found a person that he could see him being partnered with romantically, it was often commented about within the noble circle but it was his life and decision at the end of the day. He knew of the expectations of his position but he wouldn't be bullied into dating or marrying the first person that offered just because they asked.
The white-haired heir had no idea if Taiyo really kept up with the matters of court, but he believed that he did namely, because he had yet to see him there even to study what came with the responsibility. A good part of him believed that it was mostly a monkey see monkey do scenario, he, of course, could be wrong but that was extremely rare. He would remain silent on the matter knowing that this was one of those situations that speaking his mind would just cause an unneeded turbulence between nobles. He listened as pleasantries were exchanged between Alyssa and Taiyo. It was then he felt himself being hugged and his forehead being kissed. This had been Lydia's greeting for him since she had adopted him. He smiled and hugged her in return before kissing her cheek.
"I doubt even she knew exactly who it was Lyd." he said thoughtfully, it wasn't common to know someone who you had never worked with before, well, at least in such a profession as there were many famous photographers within Clover. "I only knew because I recognise the handwriting." he said before turning to Alyssa who had explained why they were there today "It isn't completely his fault Alyssa." he said to the silver-haired woman "I requested him to come here today eight days ago but he never thought to find out why." he said thoughtfully almost as if Taiyo wasn't there, it wasn't meant as an insult to the other just that he hadn't done his due diligence. He had never taken on a task without knowing details of what he was doing, the last time he had modelled they hadn't been upfront about what the shoot was about until after he had agreed and by then he was locked in.
He noted the cold snap in Alyssa's voice, he was an ice mage and even he was feeling cold with that one. "He wanted people talking because in his line of work good or bad publicity it still got people's attention." he sighed rubbing his forehead in frustration "I guess he didn't think of the backlash that would befall the models for that shoot. They wished to compensate me for it and I told him just to give it to Miss Reignsberg." he said honestly, it wasn't like he or his family were hurting for money like Verena's was "I should have double-checked to see what the shoot was about but as he was a reputable if not one of the more eccentric photographers I didn't think to do so." he turned his eyes to his sister.
"Yes, I know. Most people are idiots and are often tone-deaf to the pain of others." he said knowing what would likely be going through her head. It was a lesson that he was raised with drilled into his head by several people. He just never believed that a person would be this tone-deaf to the pain and suffering of so many, especially, when that pain was still so fresh in the minds of people. When they entered the building he was about to go through the normal pleasantries with the hyperactive and overly caffeinated gaudy tulip that was Zel when Lydia stepped in front of him as if protecting him from something harmful. This was common if she believed his life in danger but hadn't happened since he joined the magic knights. He looked to his sister as she spoke, he understood fully now, she was doing this to protect their families from scandal.
Zel stopped in his tracks his hyperactive energy turned all the way down to the point it wasn't there, if Hania didn't know any better he would have believed that his sister had an intimidating aura right now. "It is a simple fashion shoot, I will even have your makeup artists, hairstylists and wardrobe stylists explain what they are doing and what you'll be wearing if that makes you more at ease." the man said as he tried to keep his composure. "I am sure we all agree that there is no need to go that far, as I am also sure that last shoot was one that should have never happened given the pain and suffering of the kingdom." he said with a more understanding tone Zel nodding quickly "We recalled every copy of the magazine the moment that we heard of the issues that it was causing." he said hoping to appease the angry pink-haired head of the Ravencrest family.
[attr="class","silasreescroll"]To reply to Hania’s remark on Taiyo’s rudeness, he looked away. I get that but you don’t actually want to speak to me. From what I can tell, you don’t like me much. I just don’t want to waste your time chatting on things you’re not really interested in. Even so, I’m thankful for the help you’ve given to me with your words. My apologies for any disrespect. If I’m being honest, your friendship would be appreciated but I don’t know where your stance is on such bonds.
[break][break]
When it came to the Ravencrest family and the Lilygate family, Taiyo made sure he was very friendly to them. They were great allies to have and he enjoyed them much more than he did other families like The Silva family. To taiyo, there were two types of nobles: The ones with no regard for anyone they deem under them and The ones who give respect to all even if someone wasn’t as important in terms of status.
[break][break]
Bonds and alliances are very important to the Kingdom. When families are affiliated with each other, they are more likely to work together than families that can’t stand each other. House Vermilion would be honored to build strong bonds with House Lilygate. He would gently smile at her. That being said, it is also important to learn what others like and also don’t like.
[break][break]
When Alyssa spoke about modeling, Taiyo turned his attention to Hania who spoke after her. Well, the last time you sent me a letter, it was a matter of importance. I figured if the details were need to know you would include them in your letter. That being said, next time I’ll ask for more details.
[break][break]
While standing inside, Taiyo would take a look at the man who seemed to be a walking disaster. After he left, Taiyo folded his arms and walked over to Hania. Now that I know it’s a photo shoot, mind telling me why you dragged me into this? Also, what am I going to wear? Magic Knight Mantle isn’t exactly photo material for this kind of operation.
[break][break]
Taiyo noticed when the Vice Captain moved to protect her brother. Though that would seem normal for family and siblings, this was rather strange to see from her. It wasn't the fact that it was entirely out of the ordinary that had Taiyo wondering but it was the fact that the people in question were Lydia and Hania. Hania was well capable of taking care of himself. What would be so bad that Lydia would react like this. Feeling out of the loop on if this was common, the young Vermillion turned to Alyssa. Is this normal for Lydia to do?

[attr="class","header"]He's lucky he isn't dead
[break] Alyssa looked at the two heirs as they spoke and how Hania had turned cold, she knew that the young white-haired male could come off very standoffish to those who didn't know him and may take his attitude personally. She looked at the younger male and chuckled a little "Lord Vermillion, please don't take Hania's words personally this is how he is with everyone. He was like this with everyone other than Lydia for the longest time and I think..." she paused to think looking at Lydia "He was like this with you until the day he was formally adopted into your family right but started warming up afterwards." she honestly couldn't recall because thirteen was a long time to remember when someone acted cold towards the one they cherished as a sister. If she hadn't seen the softness herself between the brother and sister she would have thought they had a dislike for one another even to this day. [break][break] The head and heir of the Ravencrest seemed so distant from humanity but at the same time they seemed anchored by it, she guessed it is how they dealt with the responsibilities of their family name and everything that came with it. It just meant when they genuinely did something like smiling it meant so much more. "Hania has a tendency of speaking his mind and when he does he is quite blunt..." she paused and looked at Lydia "I wonder where he gets that from... hmm?" she chuckled "But if he truly means to insult someone, believe me, he would do it in such a way they would be thanking him for destroying their life." she said thinking "I don't know if you know what the dance of flowers and barbs is Lord Vermillion, but I can educate you in the meaning if you desire." [break][break] She said as she walked down the road with everyone, she sighed and shook her head "You will find creating a friendship with the princeling there is quite difficult. In the thirteen years, I have known him he has classed only a single person as a friend and that was very recent." she said in a thoughtful tone, she wasn't trying to put the young Ravencrest heir on blast but more informing the pink-haired male not to hold his breath on friendships happening anytime soon. "Bonds are like seedlings, they need to be nurtured and cared for but insulting family heirs isn't the way to create strong bonds but rather destroy any chance of anything laying roots and bearing fruit." she educated him in a kind tone, she could tell he was still naive and it wasn't good to be when you were the next in line. [break][break] "I am not meaning to be rude Lord Vermillion but were you sheltered from the responsibilities that were expected of you as an heir and next head of your family?" she would ask genuinely concerned for him "You remind me of a young lamb that is new to the world and see everything through innocent eyes." she admitted to the other, it was clear she was meaning no insult as her tone was neither blunt nor harsh but more of a worried older sibling. Her eyes went to Lydia for a moment as she spoke in an ancient Elven dialect the pair had earned when they were both heiresses themselves "If he was to take over his house today it wouldn't survive he's quite naive." she commented wondering if the pink hair woman thought similarly, she was also fully aware that Hania understood what she had said though by the looks of it he was pretending like he didn't. [break][break] The silver-haired woman knew that Lydia had been meticulous when it came to grooming Hania as he grew to be the next head of the family if anything happened to her. He had been educated in many subjects, he had a daily training schedule, been given the best tutors and when he quickly outgrew them his training came down to the pair of women and the four that were now generals of Carrion. His health though not discussed was overall excellent but when he did get injured or sick it took him far longer than what someone should require to get better, still, she knew that the heir she had watched grow kept pushing regardless of what his body wanted. She was worried that one day he would burn out far beyond the time he should do and wondered if Lydia had the same worry. [break][break] What a life they all lived, expectations upon expectations. From the crown, other nobles, their own families, those who held them in awe for being nobles, those who despised them for the power they held and even as magic knights, more so since two of them held positions within their individual squads. It was when Hania spoke about who was doing the photoshoot she came out of her own thoughts "Zel? Wasn't the one that..." her voice grew bitter, she didn't blame Hania or the female model for their part in it, Hania had been raised that if he accepted to do something then he didn't back out, it could look bad on his family and his own image. So, there was a good chance he didn't know until after he agreed to the job. She was glad she wasn't the photographer after Lydia found out that was for sure. [break][break] Alyssa watched as Zel started speaking to Lydia who had stepped in front of her younger brother like a protective mother bear, she couldn't blame her. "It was a terrible thing you did with that shoot. It is inexcusable and unforgivable. I speak as someone who lost people they loved in the daemon attack on Raque" her voice was as frigid as the coldest winter day "Had I realized you were going to be the photographer I would have declined instantly. Something like that should have never been romanticised." Her mana was swelling and her hands tightly bound into balls, it was very hard to get under the head of the Lilygate's skin but when it happened something bad often happened. "I am true to my word and will see this through if it is simply a photo shoot but this will be the only time I will ever work with you. Do I make myself clear?" it was clear that it wasn't up for negotiation, the woman was pissed as she sent her intimidating aura directly to the man who held her ire. [break][break] Alyssa's temper was curved as the red haired male spoke suddenly asking her a question on if Lydia's actions were normal, she nodded "Yes, she's quite protective of Hania." she said thoughtfully "Has been since he was adopted into the family, but then, no one should expect anything less as she has raised him for the last thirteen years of his life." she continued, it wasn't as if it wasn't a known fact that the Ravencrest heir was adopted within noble circles, it wasn't all that known however that Lydia was the one that had raised him from the moment he had entered it. The silver haired woman did remember that Lydia had caused quite a stir the moment she named Hania as heir to the family over someone that shared her blood, but she also dared anyone to try and challenge her decision. She was the head of the Ravencrest at that point and her word for her family was law. It was just that simple, if anyone had issues they could take it up with her but she already promised them it wouldn't end well for them. People accepted the decision quickly after that. Simple rules, don't insult the head of one of the most powerful families in the kingdom.
[attr="class","florencetext"] Lydia would listen as her brother and Taiyo spoke to each other. It seemed that the vermillion heir was just digging himself a deeper hole with Hania at this point. The vice-captain however wouldn't say a word. After all the solar mage needed to learn to fix his own mistakes after all. It seemed after a little more talking and a comment from Alyssa the issue was put to rest however not before Lydia was somewhat pulled into it. It was a little bit before he was adopted into the family but yes he's like that with everyone. As the blue rose captain made her comment about where Hania got his way of speaking from the vice-captain would just shrug her shoulders. [break][break] I can't help it if he thinks my way of speaking is more effective than acting nice to everyone. As Alyssa kept talking to Taiyo the light mage would just listen after all what she was saying wasn't true. However, the white-haired mage would then start speaking to Lydia in a tongue that was unknown to most and spoken by even fewer. Lydia would of course responded in the same language. It's not exactly his fault. After all, he wasn't raised to be the head of a family Silas and Emily were and no one counted on losing the both of them. However, that of course doesn't mean he can just not try and learn those kinds of things. [break][break] As they found out just who truly was in charge of this photoshoot Lydia couldn't blame Alyssa for her voice going colder. After all, the effect of what happened to Raque was a little more painful to the blue rose captain than most. When they actually met with the man things weren't much better after all he had managed to piss off two of the most powerful mages in clover and how did the man react? Sure he was scared after all most people would be. However, he didn't even try to apologize all he said as he recalled the magazines because of issues?!. This only further pissed off the vice-captain which everyone was able to tell. She would then walk up to him grabbing him by his shirt the anger very clear in her eyes. [break][break] You only recalled them because they weren't doing as well as you hoped? What the fuck is wrong with you? Do you even know how many people died because of them and you can't even be man enough to apologize? You're the worst kind of scum I've ever seen. Honestly your lucky I don't just beat you half to death right here. Don't worry though like the others said we'll do this stupid photo shoot of yours. Afterward however if you know what's good for you, You won't reach out to anyone in my family for a while. [break][break] The vice-captain would then let go of the man before walking back to the others and taking Alyssa's hand in her own. Well let's get this over with before my temper gets the better of me.

[attr="class","haniaimage"]❝I hear a song of woe shadowing our past in sorrow.❞
[attr="class","haniascroll"]Hania listened to the red-haired heir and sighed clearly exasperated with the goings-on, as far as he was aware he hadn't caused any insult to the other in asking how things were faring. Yet, the other had taken insult somehow and thus caused insult in return. "You are clearly tone-deaf Taiyo, it is quite disheartening." he said his voice as neutral as it always had been. "If families do not speak it breaks whatever bonds were there to begin with or prevents new bonds being created through the next generation. there is a unique strength in numbers especially in our world which is filled with sharks." he explained hoping it would sink in that there was a reason for the idle chit chat that the red-headed heir believed was wasting the white-haired heir's time. "Do you understand?" he would ask, hoping that the answer would be yes.
"I wouldn't say this is a friendship, we know nothing of the other and as it stands you are likely to keep causing insult to other nobles and not realize it. You are in need of a tutor and badly." he said as if that was indeed a fact. His eyes turned to the silver-haired head of the Lilygate family who found this situation amusing. He listened as Taiyo was informed that he was indeed like this with everyone, it wasn't a lie as he was like this with everyone he didn't know. Then again, if a person didn't know him that well then he would seem he was the exact same way to those he was close to. You needed to know how to read his undertones and that took the time he was often not willing to give to people. He listened to the two women having a conversation and rolled his eyes.
"Can you both not have a conversation about me as if I am not standing right here." he said, his tone would not have changed but Alyssa and Lydia would know due to the undertone he was slightly irritated but more amused that they did what they did when he was younger. It was clear that things hadn't and most likely wouldn't change in their dynamic. He turned his attention back to Taiyo as he spoke and nodded "Indeed, I wanted to teach you a lesson I forgot to do because I was a dimwit and didn't double-check something and it almost became a scandal for my family. When someone, it doesn't matter who requests your presence get all the details you possibly can." he informed the other, he couldn't believe he was so foolish not to do such a thing but he had worked with this photographer often.
He didn't believe he would try and make money off of others misfortune. He shook his head "All publicity is good publicity..." he hated that saying so much. It wasn't the photographer that had to deal with the brunt of the backlash but the nobles that had taken part even though they were being paid to take part. Then again they were also meant to have the sense to know to ask about such things. Even though Hania knew such things should never be romanticised about given how big of a threat daemons were, he believed that it would have been better received before the attacks or years down the line after everyone had time to heal. The timing was just beyond tone-deaf, it was almost sadistic. What made it worse was he, himself was the one who was the daemon. That made his stomach turn and still did to this day.
He felt sick in himself and had apologised many times to both Victoria and to Alyssa given they lost family members to what happened in Raque. He had been forgiven by the Lilygate but would sure as hell make sure he didn't make the same mistake again. His sister had been in Kikka alongside a lot of others, he himself knew facts that he shouldn't have any knowledge of in regards to what when on within the darkened town. He had never spoken of it, he had told Lydia of something he saw at the spirit ball and he was given alcohol to take the edge off. He honestly disliked it and for the first time since they met, he was brash with her saying he would never take another sip of alcohol again regardless of why.
He was more than willing to try other things, but he wasn't going to give up being able to think correctly so his affliction didn't bother him as badly. "Alyssa, did you just call me princeling? Really?" he sighed, she wasn't wrong he wasn't exactly the most social within his family, and socializing was normally done because it was needed not because he wanted to. He preferred his own company, even his personal study had intricate locks. Many of the books he had were all first edition or extremely rare, only someone stupid would even attempt to get in there and the rune code changed frequently within a single day. Only a select few ever knew the code, how it changed or when it changed. The books were not the main reason for the security as his family could easily get them returned or replaced, Hania himself was the main reason. When he was ill or hurt other than his bedroom the only place he'd be able go was his study.
He listened to the two women talking in Elven knowing the pair knew he understood but again he made it seem as if he didn't, it wouldn't be good if Taiyo thought that he was being left out of the conversation the three were having. He smiled a little however when Lydia said that she couldn't help it if he found her way of speaking to be more effective than being nice to everyone. "It's true. Sure, you make a lot of friends and everyone believes the world is sunshine and lollipops but we all know that isn't the case and so why should we pretend that it is?" he asked looking at the silver-haired woman. "You know those who will be with you through thick and thin if they can accept the barbs that come with the flowers. Those people as you know are few and far between." it was a lesson that Alyssa herself taught him.
It was then suddenly something changed when they met the photographer. She got colder than the ice that he wielded, he pulled Taiyo behind himself because right now it was the safest place to be with how angry the two women clearly were. "Lyd, Alyssa... please... calm yourselves. I know and understand he deserves both your ire but we are here to do a job and everyone in this place looks frightened." he said motioning to the other staff. "They are here trying to make sure their families are taken care of, not to deal with a hostile work environment due to a single tone-deaf man. They all told him that it was a bad idea but he is eccentric and has an ego like most do and has been brought tumbling down to the ground harshly." he said calmly.
He hated that he was defending this idiot, he didn't condone what he did and felt disgusted that he hadn't even apologised for the tasteless shoot or the discomfort that he put the models as well as his staff in. "I wonder just how much hate the rest of your staff got while you sat comfortably with security around you." he said walking forward holding his sister's arm to help calm her. His ice-blue eye turned grey "As for you, this will be the last time I work for you and I think as a token of good faith to those you've hurt you resign after this shoot and do some soul searching." he said before walking past his sister whispering something into Zel's ear making his eyes going wide as he nodded "I'll resign after this shoot." he said fear clearly heard in his voice. Hania brought Lydia's hands away gently "Perhaps Alyssa needs your support over wasting your time on him Lyd." he said looking at the silver-haired woman who seemed to be having a war within herself.
[attr="class","silasreescroll"]Alyssa had told Taiyo about Hania being the way he was to everyone. Apparently unbeknownst to Taiyo, Hania was the way he was due to his past. He had a lot of reasons to be this way. Taiyo had made a fool of himself yet again. She continued to speak about his bluntness and even got the Vice Captain involved. If it was under other circumstances, the young man would have chuckled but this was not the time nor place for such behaviour. That would just make him look even more tone-deaf. Alyssa turned back to him and outlined that if Hania wanted to insult him, it would be so bad that he would be thankful for it. The boy actually could see that happening. What Alyssa said next was quite shocking. It took 13 years for Hania to make one friend since Alyssa met him. Damn! Thirteen Years?! She moved on to speak about bonds which were like seedlings. Her words were kind and educational. The vice captain took that time to solidify everything that Alyssa had said. [break][break]
Hania had spoken to Taiyo about the fact that he was dimwitted in the past and wanted to teach him a lesson about making sure he got all the details regardless of who requested him. The words of wisdom would resonate with the young Vermillion heir and he would make sure to gather all the details the next time Hania or anyone else requests him.

Taiyo looked at Hania and nodded. He understood what the other heir was saying and it was very important that he did. It would be unfortunate if the bonds between the Ravencrest and Vermillion were broken because of the Vermillion’s heir being the idiot that he was. How was he so bad at this? Though he wasn’t raised for the title he held, he shouldn’t be this bad. He wouldn’t let that tear him down and he was determined to learn all he could to improve and become a better heir. I understand and again I’m sorry. It was extremely insolent of me. He went on to speak about how they weren’t friends and that Taiyo was in dire need of a tutor.

Alyssa had asked if Taiyo was sheltered from his responsibilities as an heir. It was pretty noticeable that he wasn’t exactly qualified; however it was something he was working on. Having it pointed out like that was somewhat like salt to a wound. He was well aware that he wasn’t ready but he was still going to give it his all. Luckily he didn’t have to reply as the vice captain jumped in and spoke about the fact that he wasn’t being groomed to be the heir since that responsibility was on the former main branch being Silas and Emily. They weren’t exactly prepared to lose those two but what happened happened. She followed up by saying that it didn’t mean that he couldn’t learn those responsibilities now which was what the young heir intended to do. Of course, he didn't understand a word they said. If I may, I didn’t understand the last thing you say Miss Lilygate or your reply, Vice Captain. What did you say and what language was that?

Just as Taiyo was going to ask about the dance of flowers and barbs, Hania chimed in and explained it. Could the other heir have known that the inquisitive heir was going to ask for clarity on that? Either way, Taiyo was listening attentively, taking in as much information like a plant soaking in sunlight. The concept of it was quite true. If someone could accept others even with the barbs and thorns then they would be the people more likely to be with you through all the hardships. To show he understood, the boy nodded.

At the photoshoot, the atmosphere was quite tense. Between Lydia and Alyssa, and their coldness towards the Zel person, there was little hope that the guy was going to be able to do his job without trembling. They both stated their case as Hania pulled him behind him like his sister did him. Playing the devil’s advocate, Hania sought to peacefully resolve the tension so they could get on with the job. In the end of it all, the other heir told Zel that this would be the final time they work together and that the man should resign due to all the people he hurt. Whether out of fear or guilt, the man agreed that this would be his last job as he would resign after. After releasing a breath that he didn’t know he was holding, Taiyo looked at Hania. That was intense.
