It had been a few days since Jordan had been on his community service assignment in the village of Hage, and the last few days had been very slow and peaceful for him. He had spent the past two or three days working to perfect a new invention of his. However the time for tinkering had come to an end, as Jordan was about to receive the toughest mission he had faced yet and the toughest he would probably see for some time. After hearing a knock on the door Jordan would rush to open it, and when he answered a woman from the Silver Eagles was at the door to his room. The woman held a sealed envelop which mostly likely contained mission orders. The woman handed him the envelop before she walked off.

Jordan would start to read the letter, so that he could find out what he was supposed to do. For whatever reason Jordan was to be included in a magic knight mentor program. Of course he wasn’t going to be mentoring anyone, he was to be the one being mentored however. They had assigned Jordan to be with a magic knight that was a little older, with a bit more experience, and far more powerful. The letter didn’t say who this person was only that they were a part of the Green Mantis squad.

When Jordan saw the words Green Mantis on the paper his skin began to itch a bit. Jordan didn’t know much about the squad, however he did know that the squad had a certain reputation that wasn’t very wholesome and knightly. However he tried to shrug off the negative thoughts as he knew his captain, or whoever had set this up knew what they were doing and had good intentions when doing it.

Whatever the reasoning behind this Jordan would go to prepare to make yet another trip to the Forsaken Region. This time he would be going back to Hage but specifically to the Green Mantis base so that he could meet this person who was to mentor him. The trip to get to Hage this time would take much less time since Jordan had just been here recently so he wouldn’t get lost like he did last time. According to the letter he had gotten from the higher ups the person was to meet his outside of the base within the next hour, and so Jordan would just sit outside and wait as he enjoyed the nice country air, *The air here feels so much cleaner, and so much easier to breathe.* he thought to himself.

A mentor?

Valo was allot of things but a proper mentor was not one. The fire mage of Hage never really saw himself mentoring other magic knights. He was a little to selfish for that, he pursued strength and power. Becoming a better magic knight especially now was the only thing really on his mind. Other than at least making some time for Hinota, and his other friends. Other than that his time was used to train and to spar, and he did so relentlessly. After returning from Kikka his training and mission to attain more power, was taken up several notches. Valo already was a fierce and determined knight, but Kikka tripled his overall focus. After Hinota helped him deal with the losses that happened, he had to rely on his own methods to also help him recover. And that was fighting.

In the large backyard of the Green Mantis base, was a gathering of it's many members they were encircling a little event of sorts. In the circle was Valo with a focused look on his face, staring down two larger members on the other side of the circle ring. Sparring like this was normal in the Green Mantis squad, a squad that was full of former rogues, criminals and others. Sometimes spars gathered the attention of others, this tended to happen more when Valo took part of it. The cocky fire mage lifted his hand and gestured for both of his opponents to come at him at the same time, the same ol grin on his face. They both rushed in and were decently quick, but Valo's speed was on another level entirely. A last minute duck avoided one fist, and he planted a fist of his own to the poor man's gut. Not only was Valo's speed extremely fast, the power behind his blows even without magic backing it was fearsome.

Moving to fast for the other opponent to react, he dashed in and hopped striking his chin with a well placed knee attack. Both attacks were enough to put both opponents out of commission, the spar lasted literal seconds with Valo walking away grabbing his shirt of the weapons rack and putting it on. Leaving the people gathered around asking him where he was going, he only returned a simple goodbye wave stating. "Got some mentoring to do, I'll be back later."

Valo wearing a pretty basic outfit a simple white fitted t shirt, some black pants and field boots. His lantern buckled to his first belt strap, he walked through the entrance of the squad base. His spirit Agneya following close behind him, then landing on his head. "You really gonna mentor someone today?" she asked sounding a bit surprised. "Yea. I need to...socialize more with other squads. You heard the captain."

"Pffft. You really gonna listen to him? We could probably take him now."

"Probably...but not yet Agneya. In time."

"Pfffttt. Fine." she stayed buried in his hair.

Valo walked outside the entrance and used his ki to locate where this person might be, it didn't take long before he found him. A blonde kid from the Silver Eagles squad, he looked new brand new in fact. The fire mage walked up to the young man his hands in his pockets, the look on his face was not very welcoming. The Green mantis knight didn't really take well to people outside of his own squad, probably why he also had to do this. "Are you the one I'm supposed to be mentoring or whatever?" he asked.

As Jordan sat outside of the Green Mantis squad base, his nerves started to pester him a bit as he got more and more nervous about being mentored by someone in the infamous squad of former rogues. Jordan had worked with a member of the Black Bulls however unlike them the Green Mantis weren’t infamous for just doing good things in slightly bad ways.Jordan would try his best to regain the majority of his composure once he had saw someone leaving from the building and heading his way.

Jordan would quickly make his way to his feet and look like he was ready and alert. As the man walked over he wore a very simple outfit, just a white shirt and black pants with boots. Jordan thought the outfit was very plain but it was very cost effective as a magic knight. Less costly clothes were easier to replace if they got damaged in battle, and as a member of Green Mantis the man probably liked battle a lot already.

The man’s greeting was just as simple as his outfit, he walked over and asked Jordan if he was the one that he was to be mentoring. Jordan would let out a breathe of relief as the man seemed to not be some crazy or savage former rogue. Jordan would look at the man while trying to keep a straight face before saying “Yes sir. My name is Jordan Alexius Stark, junior magic knight fifth class.” Jordan would pause for a brief moment before continuing to speak. “Sir may you mind telling me a name to call you by? It doesn’t have to be anything formal, but you don’t look that much older than me so calling you sir probably bothers you.”

As Jordan talked to the man he could feel the overwhelming power coming from the man. He was sure the man wasn’t intentionally exerting such force or magical pressure, however it felt like the air around the man was thinner than paper. Jordan had no clue what to expect from the man, but he did know that he was ready for whatever he would have to face.

Valo looked the young man up and down getting a good measure of him, he was a few years younger than Valo. With bright spiky blonde yellow hair and blue eyes, his name was Jordan Alexius Stark. Unlike meeting his sister, correction twin sister not to long ago. Valo's face wasn't full of surprise but it stayed rather casual he did make an annoyed face for a second though. There was no way this kid was a sibling, he looked way to different. But he did resemble his uncle Kollivan, but these were details Valo didn't care nor want to get into right now.

"Yea, yea. No super formal stuff. Just call me Valo. Thats it. All that rank stuff doesn't really matter to me. Junior, senior blah blah. Just don't chicken out when the time comes." Valo said rubbing the back of his head, while his other hand remained in his pocket. Agneya who was on his shoulder now looked at Jordan up and down obviously measuring him up. She as usual when they met knew people, did not look impressed. She wasn't even impressed with Valo when they first met, or so she says. Of course the spirit had to add her own opinion. "But just so you know. He's Grand Rank 2nd Class and a immediate Royal kn-"

"Agneya. None of that stuff matters." The fire spirit was interrupted by Valo, who also lightly patted her head. The fire spirit looked annoyed pouted and turned the other way with her arms crossed.

"Sorry about that. Don't get to caught up in ranks and that nature. Let's just do our best, alright?" Valo added with a nod of his head in the general direction of where they would be going with a smile. And that was the Hage woods. Valo had spent quite some time in the woods, and all over Hage at this point. He took pride in claiming Hage as his own, and all of it was under his protection. There was a sense of mystery and wonderment in Hage that he liked, plus no other town had a giant demon skull in it and Valo always loved that.

He started walking over to the woods and Agneya following him still annoyed. "So Jordan! What's going on?"
