The sky was black with bits and speckles of white splattered about, from the glowing of far away stars. Echo was out in the town here to complete a job given to him by the shadow broker. He had to kill yet another noble that had somehow crossed the broker wrong. Echo felt bad for the poor man as he took his life. Normally Echo felt nothing when he killed, but every so often he would have a time where it felt different. However the ill feeling he felt from committing the act would swiftly go away.
Echo was standing in an alley with the man on the ground in front of him. The noble was slowly and scarily crawling backwards away from Echo while he would scream begging for his life. Echo would do nothing but keep walking towards the man, up until he would be backed up into the alley’s dead end. “Please please, I can give you almost anything you want! Money, land, jewels, food, anything you name! Please just spare me!!!!” Echo would stoop down so that he could look the man eye to eye before he would begin to laugh, almost maniacally so.
Echo would grab the man by the face, using his chin as the man point of contact. He would look the man in the before saying “I feel for you, however your cries fall on deaf ears. My resolve is too strong to be effected by such pleas…” Echo would release the man before his grimoire would glow and he would simply turn away from the man. Slowly walking away an arrow of light would form in front of Echo, before he would turn around and with the flick of the wrist the arrow had found its way into the man’s eye socket.
Echo would then walk back over before beginning to search the man’s body, looking to take anything he could as he was trying to make the situation look like a robbery gone wrong. The young hunter would hope nobody came by at such a time or he may have to kill more than 1 person tonight….
It had been an eventful night for the young woman, she had travelled from the house she was allowed to stay in by its apparent owner Jin who had seemed to have taken over being her caretaker. She was told not to travel too far and had ended up in Ssoshi again, but not the part that she was used to, it was likely for the best though, she would hate to have done the thing she did to someone she actually 'knew'. Beside her was the large direwolf that still had a bloody decapitated head in its bloody Maw. She was stroking along its fur lovingly as she walked the leather clothing that she took from the last guard hugged to her body though it hid her grimoire, in her left hand was a red spider lily. She moved quietly not really paying much attention to anything around her.
She heard the begging and yelling of a man, it meant little to her, it wasn't her business unless the one doing such things made it her business. Soon there was a flash of light that made her clench her eyes, light during the day was bad enough but this was sudden during the night and it made her sob silently. This made the wolf growl, whoever had done it was now seen as a threat by the wolf "Shh... Shh Nailo not mean... sure." she said to try and pacify the wolf that was accompanying her. Her eyes soon went to her lily that started to glow "Why..." she muttered if she was capable of knowing what frustration was it would be showing at that very moment. It would have saved her so much effort if there was already a dead body instead of having to kill three guards.
She headed towards the ally she had previously heard the scream of, the wolf by her side still carrying its prize. She made sure it stayed by her side at least for no. Her eyes moved between the young man and the dead body, she didn't seem to be fazed by what was going on in front of her, she just waited quietly as if waiting her turn. She could tell by his clothing he wasn't like most people in the area but she didn't really understand the differences between the clothing styles or fabrics. She wasn't taught like other nobles were, she was taught to hunt and kill, she was an emotionless tool for her father's whims but knew no better that, that wasn't love but a tyrant who was using and abusing her in more ways than one. When the boy noticed her she would just look at him blankly, it was clear she had no intention of attacking him or even screaming out for guards, she would have done so already after all.

Echo would take the man’s few valuables that were present, it wasn’t really much though. A few small trinkets and a purse full of coin, nothing beyond the ordinary though. When he would finish he would rise up to his feet, however before turning around he had noticed something. The young hunter would see a shadow move towards the alley opening, a subtly he would find himself catching due to his magic’s effect of illuminating. The young boy would scoff before beginning to speak saying “I don’t know who you are but I really think you came to the wrong place at the wrong time…”
Echo would then turn to face however would block his path out of the alley. As he was turning he would say “You really messed up b~~” his speech cut off from the shocking look on his face. In his path stood a girl with a very small build, looking almost as if she was young enough to have gotten her grimoire yesterday. Echo would stare at the girl and she would simply stare back. The two locking eyes felt weird to Echo but he could tell she meant him no harm. His face was filled with awe but he would choose to speak.
“Your just a little girl are you not? Regardless I’m not into the idea of killing women or kids for no reason…” Echo would then look to the girl’s side and he would see a pretty big wolf holding a head in its mouth. *What the hell is going on here? You couldn’t be from Shadow Broker could she?* The youth was confused to say the least but he would keep his cool and calm composure for a while longer, as he would make his way to the entrance and exit of the alley.
He would walk past the girl hoping that she wasn’t from the Shadow Broker and had intent on attacking him for whatever reason. After making his way past her and the wolf he would feel something strange, a lingering sensation of magic around the wolf. The wolf appeared to be a normal animal in the eyes of Echo but his magical sensing told him something different. Not only that but a strange magical feeling came from the girl as well. The best word Echo could use to describe the feeling of magical signature was death, just simply death.
Before walking too far off Echo would stop and turn around bringing his gaze back onto the girl. The hunter would then walk back towards her taking two steps up as he hadn’t gotten far as it was. “Who are you? And why didn’t you just scream or call for the guards? I know you watched me kill that man, or at the very least you seen the end result…” His words would trail off as he waited for the woman to respond.
Aelia remained completely quiet stroking the wolf loving, she didn't answer his first question, she didn't really see the need to. He wasn't her caretaker and she knew better than to speak anything outside of what she was allowed to. She heard his threat but didn't flinch, she saw no reason to, of course, she didn't know his magic or strength but fear outside of the home wasn't something she was accustomed to. The wolf again growled showing it wasn't happy about what was going on, she turned to look at them and hugged it around the neck "Shh... Shh..." she whispered not caring how it looked to the other at her. She didn't understand certain emotions even if she could mimic them, it was part of her training and she was often tested on such things. It was yet another thing she grew to accept knowing no better.
She remained silent when he called her a little girl because she didn't know the difference in ages, in fact, she wouldn't have known her own age if you were to ask her as such. The basics any child would know were never given to her, Jin had been attempting to help her learn but progress had been non-existent. She did, however, now sleep with a blanket over her and a pillow under her head but still slept curled on the floor with her grimoire and lily near her head but out of reach as this was what she was used to. She remained completely still as he walked past, when he was far enough away she moved to kneel next to the nobleman the wolf sitting beside her but looking out towards the alleyway. She placed the leather guard uniform, her grimoire and the glowing red spider lily on the ground.
"Come to my graveyard, we can play together forever." she whispered once more. The grimoire's cover and pages opening the body of the man started to faintly glow a deep bluish colour for a moment before it started to quickly almost decay and dissolve what looked like lightning going into her grimoire before the grimoire closed as suddenly as it opened. The man's corpse no longer anywhere to be seen her hands coming together as she almost prayed "For those that have come and gone, through love and strife, whether you are forgotten or remembered thanks is given to you all so we can continue our paths undisrupted." she whispered before picking up her grimoire, the clothing and her now normal looking flower before standing up and dusting herself off. She looked to the one who had asked her a question "No need." she said as she started walking down the ally once more leaving the hunter behind.
The wolf stood up and padded to be at her side and she just began to stroke it once more with her empty hand, as if the interaction nor the death had occurred. To her, the murder was non of her concern and she got a new friend in her special book so she was happy and was now on her way back to Jin to show him her three new friends.

I can end and prolong the life of all, but I can't change the fate of those who fall. I can't turn back time once death has arrived...
After voicing his question to the girl, it would seem like she would ignore almost everything the young hunter had said. However Echo knew he couldn’t walk away right now, not after feeling this sinister feeling magical energy. He needed to find the reason this girl’s mana felt so dark and smelled of death. After a few moments the young girl would go walk down the alley and towards the noble’s body. She would sit her grimoire down on the ground next to the man and would begin to speak to herself. The noble who Echo had just killed would have his body seeming disintegrated by some sort of magical energy, said energy would then jump back into her grimoire.
Echo would use his amazing eyesight to look at the girl’s grimoire as it would close back up and he would see something he didn’t think he would for a while. What Echo saw was the mark of the 4 leaf clover upon the girl’s book. His eyes would instantly glow up with shock as he wondered what element this girl had. So far this would be the second person he has met with a 4 leaf clover like himself, the last person he met was Verena, someone who he had developed a very decent relationship with after the two had cleared a dungeon and trained together.
Replying to his question from before the girl would simply say no need, meaning she had no need to call the guards upon Echo for his actions. At the very least this confirmed that the girl meant Echo no harm, and it also showed that she was no ordinary civilian. The wolf beside her would growl whenever Echo did something he didn’t like, but as a hunter he had no fear for such animals, magical or otherwise. “What do you mean no need? You don’t seem the least bit phased by my actions. And what did you just do with the man’s body? You think you can just come around using a 4 leaf clover and I wouldn’t have questions about it?”
The tone in Echo’s voice growing more serious and stern as he spoke. He seemingly demanded answers as to what the girl had going on. The everything about the situation feeling weird and too coincidental. Echo knew not what was going on but he would hold his sense at their maximum alertness, so that I this woman was a enemy of some sort he wouldn’t get caught slipping up. Echo would then follow behind the woman and wolf as they would try to leave Echo where he stood.
Aelia wasn't like most, she had absolutely no ability in anything other than her companions, it was the downside that her magic gave her as strong as it could be. She had to rely on their sensory and abilities to help in what she lacked, she guessed that was also the reason she was never allowed out without a caretaker. She didn't realize that was the farthest thing from the case but she was naive enough to believe that it was because her father wanted to take care of her. By how the wolf was acting she could tell that she was being watched but she didn't care, she hadn't killed the man and even if she had it would have only been the fourth person she would have murdered that evening. Only one of them didn't end up in her grimoire but they did end up losing their head.
When she reaped a new companion it left nothing behind and so she had inadvertently cleaned up the others mess even if she hadn't realized it. It seemed her would-be stalker had more questions for her and was getting more demanding and aggressive to her. She stopped and turned to look at him the wolf getting between him and her. His tone reminded her of when her father wasn't angry but upset, the wolf was reacting to that feeling within her mana tether with it. "You see happen." she said not understanding why he wanted to know what happened to a body he saw ending up in her grimoire. She had already answered the first question and so didn't answer it again as it would be a waste of both their times. She had no idea what he was talking about when it came to a four-leaf clover or why he was so interested in it.
She turned around again and started to walk away once more into a part of town that had no lighting, this was perfect for her eyes as she saw everything perfectly even if it was in greyscale. She felt instant relief in it and also knew that anyone following her wouldn't really be able to see her with their eyes. She understood her eyes were unique, she had photophobia due to being raised in the dark, due to this she could see perfectly in both. The former however hurt her to the point she would cry if the light was too intense for her, which in honesty often was. Even moon and candlelight caused her agony but she tried to never make a fuss about it because she always feared something worse would come. She turned to the left down another ally and was now heading towards the exit of town.

Echo would look at the girl as she would stop to speak, her speech was very broken in a sense, as her sentences seemed to miss words and other small things that would make them make full sense. The girl would then begin to walk away with her wolf, without doubt trying to leave Echo where he stood once again. The young hunter however wanted answers, he grew tired of feeling like he was being ignored by the girl. He had no intent to harm her as she had bring no harm to him, however he would do something to provoke the young girl.
His grimoire would glow before a mass of light would take the shape of an arrow in front him. He would aim the arrow in the direction of the girl but not directly at her, as he simply wanted to get her attention. Echo would flick his wrist in that direction sending the arrow towards the girl and her wolf. The arrow would fly right past the girl’s head just enough so that she could feel the wind blow across her cheek. Echo would smile as he did this before he would begin to follow behind her again.
Echo wanted to know more about this girl but he could already tell such a thing would be hard to find out, given the girl already showing she wasn’t up for talking much. He would follow behind her seeming like a stalker in the night. As he followed behind her he would say to her “You do know I have no intent to harm you, if that were the case it would have already been done. I simply wish to speak to you, nothing more or less. After we talk you can leave for all I care, I just need to know a few things about that book you have…”
She continued to walk quietly, her steps never making a sound regardless of what surface she was standing on, it honestly would be unnerving to most as it was as if she was a ghost or wasn't walking on the ground at all. Even the wolf made noise but it was subtle. She looked both ways not because she was looking for people but more because she didn't know the area. This wasn't the part of Ssoshi she knew, she looked down to her wolf companion as if trying to get guidance from him 'find' she sent the order to the wolf through the tether. The wolf raised its head and started to sniff at the air, it was then Echo's light interrupted what it was doing and the wolf turned moving into attack position growling its golden amber eyes feral. Aeila winced but as she turned around she cried out quietly at the brightness.
She saw the arrow of light aimed at her and her companion who was in front of her, she didn't seem to be afraid of the impending attack "Not wise." she warned him the best she could, her voice was still avoid of any emotion though the undertones showed she was in pain though slight. As the arrow was sent towards her she moved to be in front of her companion and hugged the wolf tight as if to protect it from the threat. Golems were merely puppets but wraiths, her companions had feelings and emotions as if they were still alive. "Noble soul." she whispered, from behind him there were quiet footsteps heard "Is that how you get your rocks off? Killing people and scaring women until you get what you want?" the voice said, it was clearly irritated, Echo would recognise the voice.
It was the voice of the man that he killed only moments ago, standing there as if he had never died at echo's hands. Aelia looked at the two before hugging into the growling wolf. She was willing to be hurt by the arrow to protect the wolf from harm even though it was clearly defending her. "Enemy." she said coldly, it was clear he wasn't gonna get anything out of her now thanks to the 'point' he tried to make.

After firing the arrow at the girl’s direction the wolf with her would get noticeably made but even that would not make Echo waver from what he wanted. Looking at the girl she would move in a position almost as if she wanted to protect the wolf. He knew not why she did this knowing that he had no ill intent, however she did tell him that his action wasn’t wise. Echo thought she was silly to tell him what was wise or the opposite, however he would not let his ego get the better of him just yet as he knew not what manner of magic the girl had.
After a few moments a voice would hit Echo’s ears but he couldn’t believe what he was hearing. The voice soundly just like the man Echo had killed moments before the girl’s arrival, and when the boy would look up he would see that very man standing before him. How could such a thing be possible? He knew magic could do some wild things but he didn’t know it was capable of bringing someone back to the dead in such a way. The noble tried to belittle Echo for scaring women and killing people.
Echo would draw his bow from his back and fire a regular arrow into the man, however he would find that the man would not die from such an attack this time around. *What the hell is going on here? I know I just killed this bastard. Is this the power of her grimoire?* Echo would then see that any further action against the girl or these undead beings connected to her may end in the two having to fight, something Echo wasn’t comfortable with. From his time with Verena he learned that any battle where the numbers were against him would be too hard fo him to handle at this point.
Echo would then begin to slowly back off away from the girl and her 2 ‘companions’ before saying “Listen I really don’t want any trouble I just… the truth is you are the first person to see me for who I really am and you didn’t run away or anything. Deep down I just get tired of being alone… I apologize for my misstep I shall take my leave.” The young hunter would then turn his back to the girl preparing to head back the way he came.
Aelia watched silently, she knew that he wasn't about to leave her alone but she honestly didn't understand what he wanted from her. She had only a few things and two of them were dear to her, she was told they were worth more than she was and it was just something she accepted without arguments. She knew her red spider lily was a magic item that was created to help her with her magic. It wasn't to help her in the normal regards of control, there was no way that she could screw that up. No, this alerted her to any fresh dead nearby so she could reap them like some sort of angel of death. She was nothing more than a scavenger who cleaned of another's kill at the best of times, that being said she had no qualms of making someone dead if she believed them useful to her needs.
Aeila clearly wasn't bothered by the appearance of the dead man, this was just normal to her after all it was her magic that gave him new life so to speak. She could tell that the other was startled and perhaps in a slight panic, after all, it wasn't normal for the dead to vanish and just come walking down a dark alley as nothing had happened to them. She and the man watched as the young hunter drew his bow and shot an arrow at the golem but it did nothing to the man. "Now, that's just impolite. You aren't happy with just killing me once this evening, you feel the need to do it again?" he said almost irritated "You know that actually hurt right." he finished, Aeila covered her mouth as she yawned. She was tired after so much walking and calling out a new wraith was draining on her.
"She didn't flinch, scream or run because she didn't feel the need to do so." the man spoke as Echo started to walk away from the group "From what I can tell, your business with me was nothing to do with her and so she just walked passed the alley." he said pointing to the softly glowing red spider lily. "And the reason your arrow didn't kill me this time is that you can't kill what's already dead." he explained "She's tired though." he said moving walking over to her and the wolf, the wolf who was already licking at her cheek and nudging her in concern. She smiled a little and the wolf and man were gone "Sorry." she said to Echo, she had no idea why she was saying it but it seemed like she should. She moved to barrels nearby and sat down hugging her knees to her chest, her head going on the top as if she was taking a small rest but making sure she wouldn't be seen by people.

As Echo would walk away from the group very subtle words would escape the lips of the young girl. She would speak to Echo saying that she was sorry, what she was sorry for the young hunter had no clue but this change in interaction would prompt him to turn back around. Even before the girl would say sorry the undead man that Echo had killed spoke basically giving him some of the answers he wanted. The man would speak what Echo believed was on the girl’s mind, he didn’t find this weird at all seeing as her way of talking seemed broken or incomplete it made sense that she would get her undead to talk for her.
The undead noble would say how what he and Echo had going on was none of the girl’s business and that was why she went on about her business without saying a word. The thought of this made sense to some degree, but it went against basic human nature. A person who deemed themselves ‘good’ would always report a crime, or at the very least scream when seeing someone being killed yet the woman had done neither. It was that fact that originally bothered Echo but if the woman really had no problems with such a thing that would mean she was similar to Echo, something the decapitated head inside the wolf’s mouth would confirm.
As Echo turned to face the girl again the wolf and the undead noble would disappear as if the woman had dispelled the magic holding them outside of the pages of her grimoire. *I think I get it now…* the young hunter thought to himself. He believed he had an idea of how this girl’s magic worked, and if what he suspected was right he knew that getting on her bad side would be the wrong idea, unless he too wanted to end up a corpse. Echo would take his time making his way back towards the girl who had now moved to sit next to a set of nearby barrels.
“I think I understand you now…” he would say before he would let off a smile. He would then go and stoop down next to where the girl was sitting and would say “From how you’ve spoken so far I assume you have some type of trouble speaking, so just nod if I am correct. Is your magic the power to bring the dead back to life, or at the very least the power to reanimate the dead?” Regardless of what her true ability was Echo had already grown to respect it as this magic would violate the basic and natural laws of life, something he had never seen before. He would stay stooped down next to the woman waiting for her response.
Watching and waiting was sometimes what Jin did best. He did allot of things well, allot of things other people wouldn't be willing to do. Tonight was a test of sorts to see how well Aeila did these same things. She was sent on a task to just go out and venture on her own, that was it. No more or less than that. But Jin this would let him see just what she was capable of when not relying on anyone. He told her he had to complete a task but wasn't very detailed on what that task was. Little did she know that task meant keeping a watch on her but from a distance. The rogue had no problem with his little lie, he lied to most people he met on a daily basis. But he didn't want to make a habit lying to her.
From his point of view she was no immediate threat to him, she could be potentially. But she wasn't. She knew little in the ways of 'living for herself'. And Jin's main goal was to teach her this, not manipulate her for his own goals. He could easily just have her do what he wants, and teach her nothing, and simple use her for her abilities. From a rogue's point of view that was a good call, but thats not what he wanted to do. He wasn't a fan of using someone like his father used him. Aeila had to learn to live for herself, and Jin was going to show her that.
He kept watch on her from a good distance on top of large roofs and buildings. Using stealth and getting by unseen was a skill he had in spades. He also had the abilities to back it up, his sensory permeation techniques allowed him to be invisible to the naked eye. Even further than that he could render himself undetectable by any means, allowing him to literally get by unnoticed by anyone. He used this skills when watching her, and was about to meet her at the house he arranged. But she walked passed someone worthy of note, and this person also thought Aeila was interesting. The young man just finished killing someone in cold blood, and he was trying to get Aeila's attention. Jin who was on top of a building followed along for now just to see how things played out. Aeila was doing the right thing by simple minding her own and walking away, but as Jin expected the other rogue had to follow. "Tch." an annoyed suck of teeth left his lips.
Watching some more, the young man decided it was a good idea to fire an arrow of light at the girl. That was a mistake. Still making himself invisible and undetectable, he moved down from the top of the building to the ground with a series of well placed hops and balance. He got to the ground without making a sound, and followed from a distance behind the light mage. Jin watched as Aeila used her magic to bring the body that the light mage killed back to the world of the living. Aeila's potential was boundless. Eventually after some words she ended her spell and sat nearby some barrels, she was wise to not lead this this man to where her and Jin stayed.
After they both sat down, Jin would end his spell before walking towards them with his hands in his black pants pockets. With his spell now deactivated he could be detected with sensory. This would give up his element of surprise, but it wasn't needed anymore. His attire was simple as always, black pants, black jacket and black boots. The only visible colors on him was his silver/white hair and piercing blue eyes that stared at the light mage rogue. "And why do you need to know? She won't answer any of your questions you know." he said suddenly with a small hand gesture, he motioned for Aeila to come to him. Which he was pretty confident she would listen. "The real questions are. Why is a rogue following a young women at night?"

The young raven-haired woman was tired, her eyes were stinging from the constant exposure to light sources and the others magic didn't help any. She wouldn't sleep where she was even though her body needed it but at the same time, she couldn't attempt to find Jin's home either. Taking a stranger to a safe zone was against her normal rules and she didn't think Jin would like it either, as far as she was aware Jin had taken the responsibility of her caretaker. He was attempting to teach her things and break habits, most things hadn't changed even with his gentle nudging. She didn't like it when her veil was taken from her especially when it was very bright, she actually wanted to hide but didn't she bared with it but eventually, she would break down and cry in pain. She wasn't sure if she had done something to upset him or he was doing it because he could.
She didn't understand that he was trying to help her adapt to the sun, how could she? she spent over eighteen years of her nineteen-year life in darkness. That meant in her entire life she had spent one year in light and that was via punishment or just because she was being used as her father's tool. She opened her eyes as she heard the boys voice next to her fully unaware that she had been getting tracked the entire time since she separated from Jin earlier. She was asked a question after he said he kind of understood her now, she knew that much was a lie but she didn't attempt to correct him because she didn't know if this was some sort of test. She didn't want to fail it because as much as Jin had been kind to her, things could always change.
When he said about her speech she looked away, it wasn't her fault she wasn't allowed to speak and was only taught a few generic phrases that would allow her to cover for how frail she looked. Then the question, if her magic resurrected people or reanimated, in honesty it did neither and she was about to say that but then another voice was heard. One that she was accustomed to now and turned her pinked and watery eyes towards. He asked a question of his own. Why did he need to know before stating he should know she wouldn't be answering him. It confirmed that she had done the right thing by not saying anything and that made her happy but she didn't show it. Her eyes were still on Jin and saw the hand gesture she stood instantly and walked over to him silently.
She moved behind not exactly like a frightened child but there was a feeling she relied on the other for some sort of protection. She pointed to her eyes "hurt." she said trying to explain that the light she had been exposed to was too much for her and now she was dealing with the effects. She wanted her veil, in fact, she wanted her veil for the next week even when she slept but she doubted he would allow it. When she did tell him of the pain her voice was small almost afraid of admitting it. For the moment she believed her plea fell on deaf ears as he asked why a rogue would be following a young woman at night. She had no idea why that was an important question but she remained quiet allowing the two to talk, it wasn't like she was going to be of much help.

I can end and prolong the life of all, but I can't change the fate of those who fall. I can't turn back time once death has arrived...

Shortly after posing his question Echo would feel a mana signature suddenly appear from out of nowhere. With sensory abilities as good as Echo’s he thought it odd that anyone or anything could get this close to him without him sensing anything at all, the only other time someone was able to do that was when he had first met the members of the Shadow Broker. However the feeling was different than here as the last time it was as if the shady organization were detected because they had gotten too close, but now it seemed that Echo only detected it because whatever magic they used wore off or was uncasted.
Shortly after the mana signature would be sensed Echo would turn in that direction to see a man, who would start his appearance by asking Echo why he needed to know about the girl’s magical abilities. Echo’s face would immediately turn from a smile into a very stoic but unhappy face. *Who the hell is this guy? How could he completely mask his mana like that, its almost as if I didn’t have any kind of sensory to detect him. Or is it that his sensory ability is just that high?* the young hunter thought to himself. He wouldn’t respond to the man’s words just yet, he would simply wait for a while to see what was about to happen. As he got a better feel of the man’s mana he could sense something very different about this man too, there went that feeling again. The feeling of overflowing mana however it had gotten bigger than Echo had ever felt before. He could tell already that the man before him had to be like Echo and the young woman, holders of a 4 leaf grimoire. Even though his sensory abilities would lead him to that assumption, he still couldn’t be too sure.
Without much delay he would make a hand gesture towards the girl who was currently next to Echo, signaling her to come over to him which she did without hesitation. As the girl went over and stood behind the man, Echo would rise up from his stooping position now staring the man directly in his water like blue eyes. The man’s appearance was very rogue like, the man surely hit all the boxes in the rogue attire department. Black pants, black jacket, black boots, very distinct hair color that sounded like everything. When Echo would compare himself to the man he felt like merely a second rate commoner. *Maybe I should get a change in wardrobe or something…* he thought to himself before quickly dismissing the thought to focus on the matter at hand.
Before long the man would then ask Echo why a rogue was following a girl at night, to which Echo truly had no real answer or at least not one he felt he had to tell the man. However he could see that the girl was clearly on this man’s side and he still wasn’t willing to tangle with whatever twisted magic the 4 leaf grimoire blessed her with, and so he would decide to comply. “Well in truth I would have left her alone but I then I seen her use her magic, and I seen that very special mark on the front. After that I got kinda interested… just looking to make a few powerful friends that’s all. My father always says birds of feather flock together, so if I hang around strong people I can’t be weak right?” His speech would stop before he would approach the man with his hands up signaling that he had no ill intent.
After getting within a meter of the duo he would let off a grin before looking the man up and down trying to locate his grimoire. “Hmm something tells me you got something too hide also, Mr. All Black Everything. But if we are all going to be asking each other questions we should at least be civilized about it hm? I’ll start since we are all servants of the night I guess I could give you my name… its Echo. So which one of you is next?” Echo would let off a very cocky grin after he spoke but he didn’t mean much by it. In all honesty he meant every word he said and the idea of being around these two rogues excited him to some degree. He could feel the power the two held and he figured if he joined up with them, maybe he could cut Shadow Broker out of the picture.
Jin kept his eyes on the unknown rogue, he didn't know him and he certainly didn't trust him. Since he saw Aeila's magic first hand, he probably could be trying to use her for his own gain. Seeing her magic at work also wasn't the best, it wasn't the end of the world. But Jin would have preferred almost no one seeing her magic at work. He felt that way about his own element, permeation. Jin valued the unknown and the benefits that come along with it. He wasn't into boasting about his four leaf grimoire and the numerous abilities that came with it. The more things he could keep under wraps the better. His magic was extremely easy to hide, given it's functions. So it was easy for him to trick people into thinking his element was something else, then what it actually was. He was wondering if the same could be done for Aeila's wraith magic, but more information was needed on her element.
Like he thought she came to him quickly with a wave of his hand. He didn't want Aeila being completely obedient to him, but it was pleasure seeing her trust him. Well it was either him or a total stranger, to be honest he was the best choice out of the two. The wraith user had spent of her time without her veil, this was part of Jin's preparation for her. He knew it probably stinged and hurt a little now, but it was best for her to use her eyes again. When stated she was hurt, Jin unzipped his jacket and reached inside and slowly took out her veil and handed it to her. "Just for the next day or two. You did well." he said patting the top of her head gently. After this Jin would address the new found rogue, he never took his eyes off of him though. The light rogue had his hands up, that was good call he was certainly already outmatched. He was trying to show he had no ill intent, but that meant little to Jin. He used the same tactics to get the upper hand on some folk. "Stop approaching. You want powerful friends...is that right? My father also said dumb stuff like that, I haven't decided yet if I agree with him or not." Jin was skeptical in making 'new friends' especially other rogues. There was plenty of benefits to be had of course, but that could also come with twice the dangers.
Jin followed the young man's eyes, he was doing what people usually do when encountering Jin. They look for his grimoire, most people did that when they couldn't figure out what his element was in a fight. But this guy was doing it already, did he plan on attacking. That wouldn't be wise. Jin kept his grimoire strapped to his lower back, and his black jacket was long enough to conceal it entirely. So no one really saw it unless he wanted them too. Echo was right about one thing so far, Jin had quite the few things to hide. "Oh! Names already. Interesting you jump right into it. Light element users sure like to move quick. I'll let her answer her own name." Jin said knowing what or better yet the letter she was going to say. Giving her a moment to do just that, he respond after. "I'm J. They rhyme!" the rogue said suddenly with a quick smile, showing just a small quick glance of his more humorous side. But then it was right back into a more serious tone. "Making powerful friends. And what would you be doing with these powerful friends Echo?" Jin asked placing both of his hands in his jacket pockets.
