The day was warm and bright. It was at the time during noon when it was at its hottest, far from any sort of early hour. The man had told himself he would come earlier in the day, even showering and dressing early. Instead Joseph had ended up doing paperwork on a day off, until being shooed off. Even after that the young man had buried himself in research a bit. Now that he was at the city, the azure deer found himself in the nearby forest that was near the city for a bit instead. The dawn haired one had ended up lingering there, burning more time in picking plants that could be useful for general health. This wasn't an unfamiliar place, so it wasn't like anything needed to be hunted down. There had been a fear seeded in the pit of his stomach at the start of the day. As the hours continued by, the intermediate mage became all the more concerned. This was how he came to be in the city at that hour, their magic knight hood over the face. For that day he had dressed in a brown button up shirt with wooden buttons and a dark green pair of pants, though the shape and style was still very similar to what the man typically wore regardless. They had a small bag attacked to their tan belt, this item being what held the herbs from earlier. It felt at least like enough to not get noticed by anyone that knew him before, so long as the face was hidden.
He always wore the same things down to the very colors before becoming an Azure Deer. Before then a difference in clothing had never mattered. All that had been vital was getting better. Everything had been for the sake of becoming a magic knight. It had been a long term goal that somehow panned out. So far it seemed like all the people who had lived in the city before still were, for the most part. Nothing drastic had changed, despite the deamon attacks that had happened in other cities. Was that a good or a bad thing? For some reason it made the man feel a bit more uncomfortable. His courage to actually do what was set out to be done crumbled when spotting a family member leaving a shop. It was one of their cousins, that one was married with kids. They were on an outing with the eldest one it seemed. Still a very small girl, just tagging along joyfully with her father while trotting around him like she was still getting used to using her legs a bit. Joseph couldn't do it and that was a bitter feeling. There was a feeling of guilt for even thinking of confronting their aunt and uncle. They may have kicked him from the family, but they were still living peaceful lives and being generally good people. They were still a family of pacifists, one he had been shoved from for violating a very basic rule of the family.
It didn't matter if he wanted answers. They hadn't been given when they liked him, so it would certainly require being less than kind towards them. There was a lot that he still hadn't accepted. Those pink eyes still saw their fathers family as kind and blameless for the past. Their eyes watched the cousin continue obviously on their way before Joseph started off towards a different area of the city, the docks. “What the hell am I even doing here while I have time off work?” That was a good question that he no longer had answers for. He wasn't even sure what to do with the rest of his day anymore.
