They have produced prominent Magic Knights over the years, and have established themselves as fine players of the noble courts. The family, however, has a long history of civil disagreement ever since its grand Patriarch, Regis Blake, played favorites among his three sons, Valerian, Caldur, and Henry. Regis Blake was a legendary Magic Knight, a member of the Silver Eagle, who rose to prominence generations years ago, his sons would follow in his footsteps, establishing their own prestige among the nobility and as mages of great power, but sadly a fit of fractured jealousy in the family would run deep, with dissonance still echoing among the branches today.

Today the three main branches are somewhat united, Head of the House Blake Vincent Blake, son of Valerian has stepped down from his position as House Patriarch, handing off the position to Zaven Blake, a descendent of Caldur and son of Rolin Blake, the man who had once attempted to assassinate Vincent himself. The hand-off happened as a result of his beloved daughter and previous heir, Vanilla Valentine, going missing following the events of the Shattering. However, words echo in the shadows, wondering if the House can truly withstand such a change in power, that if a son of Caldur, can be a legitimate patriarch for the family of shadows. The decision was supported by other notable members of Valerian’s branch and cautiously accepted by Agatha Blake, daughter to Henry and former Knight of the Blue Rose.

Still, despite such precarious unification, the factions lines still draw and divide among its members. But a House divided… certainly cannot remain standing for long.

Lastly, there is the subject of Vaile Valentine, the secret twin brother of Vanilla, whose mere existence was only revealed after the events of the Shattering. He remains loyal to his father, along, and that of the ideals of his missing sister. A non-Magic Knight, he has stated he has no desire to rule House Blake himself. Instead, he has gathered area in the Forsaken Region, where he and his father and a few others loyal of the Valerian branch now reside, planning something of his own design…

| [attr="class","blakescroll"]The Valerian-Silva branch consists of those descended of Valerian Blake, first son of Regis Blake, and wife, who was a royal of House Silva. Valerian was Regis’ favorite son, an honorable, dutiful Magic Knight once of the Golden Dawn himself. It was Regis’ influence as a member of the Silver Eagle that allowed him to arrange a union between his son and a Lady of the royal House Silva. Those descended from this branch can claim ties to royalty, and it was because of this, Regis’s second son, Caldur, would forever be envious of. [break][break] Valerian was considered by many of the Blake family to be one of the greatest members of the Blake family, the second most influential patriarch of the House besides Regis himself. Valerian established the family’s estate outside the grounds of the royal capital, and it was his wife, Lady Silva, whose riches and influences brought the Blake family name prominence in the noble courts. Valerian himself was a strong and proud Magic Knight, but quietly saw the corruption that the decadence of an elite lifestyle could bring upon a family. [break][break] Valerian realized that Regis treated his sons, his family, like tools to gain power, only being useful to him if they could assist him in such. While the man always did as he was told, he vowed he would not treat his family the same. |

Vincent, first son of Valerian

| [attr="class","blakescroll"]Valerian had several children, but his first child would be Vincent Blake, the first shadowed Blake to be born with notably silver-white hair and ice-blue eyes, a half-Silva. Vincent would follow in his father's footsteps, becoming a Magic Knight of the Purple Orca, growing to learn the ways of fairness and justice, and even serving alongside the current Wizard King, Jagen Lavender, for a time. Vincent would become the next major patriarch of the Blake Family, respected by all for his prowess as a Knight and his great magic ability. [break][break] But Vincent’s reign as Patriarch had its own troubles. The later years brought into question who his heir would be, as he never married another noblewoman. But time would reveal that Vincent Blake did have a child, an illegitimate one, her name was Vanilla Valentine. |

| [attr="class","blakescroll"]Vanilla was the daughter of Mary Valentine, a woman that Vincent had fallen in love with when he had gotten an injury on a mission in the Forsaken realm. Mary had opened her home to him, and in turn, stolen his heart. But their secret romance would never be known to many, and neither was Vanilla’s existence. But as fate would have it, the girl grew up to be a Magic Knight, for the sake of her commoner family, and eventually cross paths with her noble father. [break][break] Rolin Blake, the son of the jealous Caldur Blake, planned the assassination of his cousin, Vincent. But just as luck would have it, Vanilla was on the assigned detail of protecting her father. The assassination was stopped, and Vanilla was granted the knowledge that the Blakes were truly her family. [break][break] The War with Diamond brought Vanilla to prominence as one of the most prestigious soldiers. She would prove herself worthy of a Magic Knights of Grand power, helping defeat two shining generals and defending Clover against the invasion of the Shining Palace. Despite her commoner heritage, she would be proclaimed as the true heir of house Blake and few dared challenge her standing or her father. [break][break] But times would change again, the War with Diamond would come to its end, and Vanilla Valentine… had a change of heart. She left the Magic Knights and considered leaving nobility behind as well. The once-proud warrior had claimed she was ‘tired of fighting’ and wished to create a haven for wandering lost ones just like herself. She would have named it Mary’s Garden, after her mother. [break][break] But before major decisions would be made, the Shatter happened. Vanilla Valentine was never to be seen again. |

| [attr="class","blakescroll"]The disappearance of his daughter left Vincent heartbroken, and it was then that another shadowed secret of his came to light, that of his son Vaile Valentine. Vaile was also Mary’s child, Vanilla’s twin, but he was thought to have died when he was very young of an unknown illness. Instead, he was taken in by Vincent himself, who kept the young man’s existence a secret. It was a decision that would haunt Vincent for all his time as patriarch and still today, one that went against the very ideals his father had laid out for him. Vaile had become his agent, his tool that he used to spy on his fellow family, watch over his daughter from a distance. [break][break] Vaile would make himself known to the family in a shocking revelation among the Blakes. Further shaken by Vincent’s sudden decision to step down as head of the House. After this revelation and this compromise between descendants of Valerian and Caldur, Vincent Blake left the noble region entirely. He and Vaile would travel back to the Forsaken region, where they had already gathered a certain amount of land at the edges of Sivert Lake, together working on one of Vanilla’s final dreams before her disappearance… [break][break] Among those that remain loyal to Vincent, some would choose to go with them to their new ventures in the Forsaken region, while others remained within the Blake estate in the Noble Region. The overall shock and reaction to his leaving remains, as well as his second son's existence, but regardless, he was still a respected Knight of the Order and a man who had held together the Blake Family for many years... Vaile now deals with most matters regarding the aging Vincent. |

THE CALDUR BRANCH

Its most notable members include Rolin Blake the first son of Caldur Blake, as well as Rolin’s own son Zaven Blake, his daughter Demiari Blake, and one among his bastard Children, Trase Blake. The Caldur branch is most notably the most elitist and is known to be jealous of the fellow Valerian branch descendants due to Caldur’s cursed envy of Valerian’s position as first and favorite son. Caldur’s descendants are typically members of shadow organizations and trading groups that often lean to them having eyes and ears even in the highest locations. |

| [attr="class","blakescroll"] Rolin was the only son that Caldur ever claimed as his own. To his own dismay, it also became his downfall as Rolin saw Caldur’s own spirit to be weak. But as with the Blake family, it was like father like son… Rolin is a womanizing elite that has his hands in just about everything that Clover does that deals with trading. He primarily acts as an assassin and has been trying to raise his own army using yul and bringing his bastards in as his stepchildren… or as guards of the house. His only wife, a female mage by the name of Rebecca and the only woman he claimed to truly love, died during the childbirth of his only legitimate son, Zaven. Afterward, Rolin turned into a dark and cold person that primarily remained at his manor, training his son to one day kill the other heads of the family branches and unify the family under his rule. Having ridden the coattails of his estranged son, he sat comfortably as a member of the head of the family until his disappearance before the events of the Shattering. |

Rebecca knew of the monster that Rolin was and looked for a way out when she found out she was with child. However, her exit would not be from running. But instead, it would be complications during the childbirth that led to her death. [break][break] After the events of the Shattering, it was revealed to Zaven that Rebecca had returned to this world but with no recognition of Zaven as her son, but an undying hatred for the Blake family and has tried several times to kill members of the family. |

Though trained and tortured as a child, Zaven had grown up with many outside influences despite his father's attempts to keep him under wraps. He quickly rose through the ranks of the Magic Knight squad, the Golden Dawn, and proved to his family that he was not like his father before him. The family has since agreed to let the young man lead them to a new age. Zaven is currently working with Vincent Blake on one of Vanilla’s grand dreams before her disappearance, a true family organization. [break][break] The most odd thing that the family has come to see since The Shattering is that Zaven has severed all ties with the Caldur branch, or rather… redefined it so that its history could be buried. He sees himself as the “dagger” at the kingdom needs to combat great threats. |

Demiari, daughter of Rolin[break]

| [attr="class","blakescroll"] Demiari is the youngest child of Rolin and Rebecca Blake, though due to a perceived slight by the royal family of the Club Kingdom, she was stolen from her crib on the day she was born by one of the maids and taken to be raised as a noble within the Club Kingdom. Six months before her fifteenth birthday, she was brought to the Clover Kingdom by a butler who had found out her true origins under the guise of a vacation. Unbeknownst to her, the true reason was that the butler had gotten in touch with the head of the Blake family, who was found out to be her elder brother Zaven. [break][break] On the day of her grimoire award ceremony, the butler had hoped to reunite the brother and sister as he had told Zaven that she would be there on that day, but a Daemon had attacked. In the chaos, she had been separated and ended up face to face with said Daemon, and it is due to this interaction her appearance and magic were both altered. Though she didn't know it, Zaven had found her and taken care of the Daemon, saving her and took her back to his estate where she has resided since just wanting to return to the family and home she grew up knowing. |

Trase grew up despising his father for how he just seemed to forget about his mother and him like they were some trash that he could just throw out. This hate transferred to how he felt about the rest of the Blake family also. He was raised by his mother, who was a commoner until he was five years old when he would be taken by the Spade Kingdom from her. He would be forced to go through rigorous training and experiments by the Spade Kingdom in order to make him into one of their many pawns. [break][break] He would be sent back to the Clover Kingdom to retrieve Demiari under the assumption that she ran away there suddenly, which placed him in a position where he had to confront his family, who possibly doesn't even know who he is at all, along with his half-sibling who he never knew was right under his nose in the Spade Kingdom all this time until recently. |

Most notably is that of Agatha Blake, the matriarch of this branch of the Blakes. Other notables of this branch include one of her younger sons Claudius Blake. |

| [attr="class","blakescroll"] Agatha is a retired Knight of the Blue Rose, rising to prominence as the Shadow Valkyrie, a once battle obsessed and great warrior. Her husband Maximilian Legrand is a shipping merchant who deals in vast trade deals. Their union tied the Blakes to a greater source of income and affluence, along with the Valerian side’s already notable affiliation as a branch family of the Silvas. [break][break] Agatha retired from the knights to take care of her children and her children’s children, though it is best not to mention how the woman is already a grandmother as she is older than Rolin and Vincent. [break][break] She has kept mostly out of her feuding cousins' affairs, finding most of the family drama a hindrance at best. Regardless, she once had favored Vincent over Rolin, simply due to the fact Rolin had once outwardly tried to assassinate the other man and that Vincent was always the more level-headed, honorable of the two, as well as a once fellow Magic Knight. It is almost as if the Henry Branch of the family operates entirely separate from both the Valerian and Caldur branches, a haven of neutrality between two almost constantly warring divisions. [break][break] Following the Shatter and the family’s precarious change of power and apparent unification, Agatha has decided to cautiously support the decision of the family’s new head at best. Perhaps finally seeing some light within the shadow’s reach. |
