• The majority are fully fledged humans, but other races have been mixed in periodically. So all can be allowed if it makes plot sense.
• Generally bright eye colors such as shades of yellow, orange, or amber-like. but this is not hard set.
• Hair colors are not limited, but the full Hino Country side of the Kasai tend to favor darker hair colors while the Clover side tends to favor various hair colors from red to blonde, etc etc.
• Any grimoire tier is acceptable. Members from all tiers have been known.
• The Hino Country side of the family tends to be more calm and calculated while the Clover side is a bit more brash and hard headed.
• Any magic type is allowed but ones that are heat or metal related run on both sides of the family.
• Excellent traders so many house members tend to be charismatic and good with people, or very good with numbers and math.
• Even though the family is big on trading, they are also big on combat. Many family members have sought to become Magic Knights. The family is well versed in sword fighting or melee. This comes from both sides of the family, Clover and Rising Sun.

The Kasai family originated in the Land of the Rising Sun, an island country to the east of Clover. There they started as peasants--fishing and gathering furs. In the rural areas of their home country, it was imperative to learn to protect one's self. So naturally like many in the country, they took up sword fighting and martial arts. Many notable members of the family were naturally talented warriors alongside traders. Eventually they worked their way up in the trading community, and became to trade back and forth with many countries, the foremost being the Clover country. After decades of this, the family decided to try their luck moving to Clover. They found it was hard and inhospitable to foreigners at first, but as things improved they established their trading company. Through hard work they managed to find a place in the kingdom. Unfortunately they would always be restricted as peasants and outsiders with no standing.

But fortune favors the loved. A Clover noble woman married a Kasai man, and forged a bond between the two families. The Clover family was running out of money and could not keep their business any longer, with no male heirs to take over the family. The Kasai family took over their business and estate in Raque, and absorbed their business. This allowed the Kasai family to become Lesser Nobility. First the business was run by Musashi Kasai, and then Ryoku Kasai (Ardere's father). But Ryoku was a warrior, a Knight--not a businessman like his father. Fura however is strong willed, intelligent, and was more than capable of running the trading company. While many doubted a woman could run the business at first, they all came to respect her. Whether or not this was due to her capable hands guiding the company or the fact that she could beat most men in a fight is up for debate. The business began to grow and expand in Raque, a perfect town for shipping. Now they are a fair trading force in Clover, currently big projects run by Ardere Kasai, the Captain of the Crimson Lions, with his mother Fura Kasai running day to day operations.
