The impact from that attack, left Koji feeling a bit delirious for the first twelve seconds after he hit the wall. He hadn’t really noticed the crater he left behind, as his focus was still on the flying beast even after he fell to the ground. This selfless act was something Koji had already mentally prepared himself for a long time ago. Having been out in the wild most of his life, living with the limitations he put on himself and his magic, using his body to protect people was one of the few things he could do best. He could take more punishment than most people, and that was something to capitalize on. He was already nearing his limit, both in what he could manage to control cast and the magical reserves he pulled from, that was his only option in defending them. It was the greatest single attack he had ever sustained in his life, and he would do it again.

While he was disoriented, he wasn’t deafened, and he was a little disheartened to hear that his companions didn’t share the same outlook on his actions. Was he foolish to defend them? No, thankful or not, they were unharmed because of him. Shortly thereafter the monster was slain by Noah’s hand, and Koji pushed himself off of the ground and wiped away the dirt as Red came to his aid. He felt… strange like he was slightly more vulnerable than before? Only now did he notice the poison spread across his body and how lucky he was to not be in incredible pain, only a slightly singing sensation prickling his senses. He smiled up at Red as looked over his wounds. It was a little unexpected, as she seemed very reserved when they first met, but now she was crying. “Don’t worry, it’ll take a lot more than that to stop me.” He motioned to wipe away her tears, yet realized he probably shouldn’t touch anyone with this poison on him.

Koji listened to Noah speak, and to be polite, didn’t say anything he was thinking in return. He didn’t really agree with much of what Noah said, and the fact about life and death being different for these creatures truthfully only left him more confused. His gaze drifted to where the creature used to be and he narrowed his eyes as if there was something additional he should be seeing, only able to spot the treasure awaiting them. He could hear as the other monster departed without bothering the four of them, why couldn’t the other monsters be more like that one? “I’ll be fine,” Koji said, trying to make the others feel better. He wasn’t as shaken up as he probably should have been. He allowed Red and Pasha to do whatever they felt inclined to, but they didn’t owe him anything. After all of this, he just wanted to go back to the Forsaken region to recline somewhere and think about all of this. He wasn’t one to go seeking out treasure, but he would hardly scoff at free money. That could get him some good food, or maybe new clothes. He took what he assumed to be his share, but it was actually short a modest amount, before setting off on his own. He was a little jealous, seeing the others fly out of here on their broomsticks… but walking was good exercise, yeah?
