The rebuilding efforts of Raque had been only completed a few weeks previous but the town was still abuzz due to the holiday season, people rushing around shopping for gifts to give loved ones or food for grand feasts. The church, however, was thinking of something different. Tradition was on their mind, a tradition that had been passed down as long as anyone could remember. Tree decorating. It may have seemed like something foolish given everyone had a tree at home from the richest noble to the poorest farmer but this was different. It was meant to bring people together as the tree that now sat in the heart of Raque laid barren of all decorations bar one. At the top of the tree sat a crystal star that forever changed colour and was believed to be the tear of Undine.
"The blessings of Undine upon you all." An elderly wearing ornate ocean blue robes with a silver trim would be standing in front of the tree. He seemed to be as calm as the ocean yet still held the attention of those who heard his words. "It has been a tradition that many towns and cities have that they come together to decorate a tree. We are no exception to this tradition." He turned his head to look at the tree with the tear of the goddess at the top "Currently the tree is barren. This symbolizes our lack of life, our loss of beauty and how we forget those that came before us." He took a fancy seaweed green bauble with a golden pattern from his sleeve "Let this be the first step in us coming together to remember our wishes to live, that we will always see the beauty in the world around us and remember those who got us where we are today so we may continue forward." He said with conviction and strength his eyes going to the crystal star at the top of the tree which had turned from being clear to having more of a blue hue to it.
"Anything you wish to put on the tree is absolutely fine but as this is the most affluential region of the kingdom we are asking that anything being put on the tree be green with a gold trim, art that you have created or an heirloom. This is to show the vitality of life we have even when the tide is against us, that no matter how difficult things can be we can always seen the beauty in things and that our history means more than anyone could understand." He would say stepping aside to allow people to now put their own trinkets and baubles onto the tree while he talked with people that approached him.
"The blessings of great Spirits upon you," That had been the third time Aya had heard such words today as she was on the boat as it slowly but surely neared Raque, to Aya's understanding this place had once been ravaged by daemons and it was because of that, that she made sure to keep her hood up at all times, to keep her horns covered. She didn't like the idea of going to the inner parts of the kingdom. She didn't like it at all, but for whatever reason, the voices in her head kept pounding, screaming, and yelling at her that she had to go. At first, was almost like a game of tag at first, the voices would get louder and lower depending on where she went. This hadn't been the first time she navigated herself through life, but this was the first time that her voice had made her go so deep into the kingdom, next thing she knew she found herself near the boating docks of the Forsaken Region and a boat that said it was going to Rapue paying what little Yul she wanted to give out to the boat merchants for a ride, she was lucky enough to get a seat on the boat, it was nothing more than shipping care, but the trip was only half a day so she cared not for the comfortability of it all, after all, she had been sleeping on the grounds of the forest prior to joining the organization she was a part of and gaining some more yul in the process.
For the most part to keep suspicions away from herself and to make herself seem friendly and more liked on the ship Aya would occasionally help the sailors and merchant with their various and numerous injuries sustained in transport with her healing magic, telling them things like it was the least she could do and that she hoped that later she could potentially get another trip from them. After gaining the favor of the merchants and sailors with her faux sweet demeanor they agreed and thus she had secured a ride home for herself at the very least. Though she didn't get any yul for her services of healing and only a free trip home guaranteed alongside a favor, she was at the very least given something by the ship Captain, in her hands he placed a green and yellow ornament in the shape of a small ship. When asked why he decided to do such, she was simply told she'd find out once she got to the tree ceremony.
Making her way off the ship, Aya found that the voices in her head were slowly but surely beginning to quiet their yelling, which thankfully was a relief. Aya made her way to the city once they docked, she said her goodbyes adjusted her hood and made sure the straps were in place to keep it from blowing off her head, then she made her way to the tree. Upon hearing the church's speech, Aya quickly made her way to the tree placing the ornament as the voices in her had dictated, and once that was done she moved to the far outskirts of the event, nervous of all the movement from the people around her.

Isabeau couldn't help but roll her eyes as she listened to the words of the priest as he spoke in front of the tree. For someone who was promoting togetherness, he sure was putting a lot of restrictions on what could be put up on the tree, serving to discourage those who couldn't afford a pretty little bobble to buy or make themselves. She had always been curious about the tree decoration events going on through the clover kingdom in her childhood around the Yuletide but had never had a chance to attend one before. This year proved to be different as she was finally in one of the cities to be able to attend and had decided to do so out of curiosity but not she sees that he hadn't missed all that much if this was the extent of the events. They all seemed to be opportunities for the common folk to show off their decorations and to judge and gossip about one another. "And they say Yule is supposed to bring about togetherness." she thought with a snort as the priest finished his words.
As the crowd dispersed and some began to move to begin decorating the tree, Isabeau elected to hang back and observe the crowd. She had initially decided to come to this specific festival event as rumors were that various spirits could be found at each of the celebrations and she was curious about the validity of these claims. If it ended up being true, then naturally she would want a chance to make contact with a water spirit seeing as that was the element of her magic and would work best with her should it decide to make a contact with her. If the rumors ended up being false, then she could at the very least still make a trip to one of the many beaches in order to relax even though it was the middle of winter. She had no plans to go into the water, of course, it was far too cold for that, but listening to the waves as they crashed against the rocks served as a means to calm her and ease any sort of stress that she had; something that she had discovered upon her first visit when she was a child.
