The Tree of Sylph was a rather unusual one as it wasn't in any town but amongst the cherry blossom trees that surrounded Sivert Lake, the trees themselves stood without any blossoms due to the time of year. People would be running around getting gifts and ready for family meals abuzz with energy. The church, however, was thinking of something different. Tradition was on their mind, a tradition that had been passed down as long as anyone could remember. Tree decorating. It may have seemed like something foolish given everyone had a tree at home from the richest noble to the poorest farmer but this was different. It was meant to bring people together as the tree that now sat in the heart of Sivert Lake's forest stood the barren tree. The clergy member knew that this would be a strange place to hold such a ceremony but there was a reason for it. At the top of the tree was a brass topper almost looking like an angel or fairy whose joints moved continuously making a gentle symphony of sound that would put even the most anxious heart at ease.
"The blessings of Sylph upon you all." A middle-aged man wearing simple purple robes would be standing in front of the tree. He seemed to be as spritely as he spoke yet still held the attention of those who heard his words. "It has been a tradition that many towns and cities have that they come together to decorate a tree. We are no exception to this tradition though the location might not be usual but then the wind is whimsical." He turned his head to look at the tree with the angelic fairy at the top with a warm smile "Currently the tree is barren. This symbolizes our wishes to never to change, forget childish behaviour or wanting to take leaps of faith." he took a plain bauble from his sleeve that started as a burnt gold colour before becoming a crimson red a deep midnight blue before a dusk purple "Let this be the first step in us coming together to remember our childlike behaviours, that it is fine to change ourselves and plans and that a leap of faith every now and then isn't the worst thing that we can do." He said with conviction and strength his eyes going to the angelic fairy once more at the top of the tree which had turned from being near-silent to being a little louder even the melody it gave seemed a little more mischievous.
"Anything you wish to put on the tree is absolutely fine the forsaken realm is far from the finery of the noble region but that doesn't mean anything at times like these. I ask however if you can choose to put things that are golden in colour so that you can look forward to a prosperous future. Blue so there will be calm skies and water for crops. Red for the warmth of loved ones and pleasant days ahead and purple so that even in the darkest times we know that we are never alone, for the whims of the wind bind us all" He would say stepping aside to allow people to now put their own trinkets and baubles onto the tree while he talked with people that approached him.

"Everything is theoretically impossible, until it is done!"
If there was one thing Franklin was not, it was religious. Oh, he certainly believed in Spirits, but that didn't mean he believed they were Deities. To Frankie they were simply powerful manifestations of mana that often manifested themselves utilizing one element or another. They were capable of great feats of magic, had their own sentience, and were longer lived then any normal human on the planet, but that didn't make them gods. Live long enough, hold enough knowledge, gain enough power, and he supposed it could be very easy for anyone to mistake such a being as a Deity. However, to build a faith that might instill a belief that by praying to said Spirits one could be saved or have wishes be granted seemed like a fool's errand. A Spirit might assist someone, but as far as Frankie had researched they didn't do so because they heard prayers or anything of the sort. It also, didn't help that Frankie utilized Hex magic, one of the disciplines frowned upon by the Church of Clover. You'd think based on all that the mad mage would not have anything to do with anything remotely related to the Church of Clover. Typically that would be so, today was not typical.
Frankie had come to Sivert Lake to take part in a ceremony being held by the Church of Clover. The unamused wizard listened less then intently as the middle aged man prattled on about symbolism, whimsy, and decorating the massive tree as a community. The only bouts of whimsy Frankie tended to display was when he felt the sudden desire to go down a completely frivolous avenue of research or wear his latest festive outfit. Otherwise, he tended to have a serious lack of understanding of such things. Still, even if he wasn't a fan of everything involved in the ceremony he could at least appreciate how such things benefited the Forsaken Region. Anything, that helped the common folk band together and have a little cheer couldn't be all that bad. He could suppress his more pessimistic and serious nature for a little while for the sake of his neighbors. Besides, although he doubted anything would go wrong today as a member of the Magic Knights he felt it was his duty to at least be around on the off chance that something did occur. He wanted to be close so that he could intervene. There was a large enough crowd that it could be a tantalizing target for someone who did not care about the serious consequences it would bring from the Kingdom if they were to try something.
With the priest's speech done the tree was finally made available for any to approach and adorn it with their own ornament. Frankie would deftly bypass the Church representative, not having any desire to have any theological debates today, and moved through the crowd towards the tree. Once he was underneath the large pine he placed his ornament one of the free branches. As the request had been for something whimsical he had decided to go with an artist's palette. Compared to a scientist like himself Frankie had found that most artists were filled with whimsy, it seemed like a prime component in order to create art. He had taken great pain to make sure he had incorporated as much of the colors as possible and stood back to admire his work. "Not too close to any other ornaments as to detract from theirs. Not too high as to be barely visible, nor too low as to easily get lost in the brush. Firmly settled and not heavy so as to make sure it doesn't accidentally fall off and get lost on the ground at the tree's trunk. Yes, I believe I have made an optimal placement." Frankie spoke to himself as he remarked on his chosen location, ensuring that it met all the fundament points he was looking for. Feeling satisfied he moved away from the tree to ensure other people could have their own turn placing an ornament. Having already completed the main objective Frankie decided there wasn't much else to do, but mingle through the crowd and see if there might be anyone he recognized. Perhaps he would find some other Magic Knights to talk to or something else of equal interest.

[attr="class","tamaflowersscroll"] Several weeks had passed since the raven-haired floral mage had lost her memory, even now her memories hadn't shown any signs of returning and it was frustrating her to no end. Echo and Zeus had been trying their best to help her and where she had taken in all the information something still felt off, it was like she was missing several large puzzle pieces. Recently something had happened in what she believed to be her adoptive family, they had fallen from the light's grace and now were shunned as rogues. She had not done anything wrong to her knowledge but her life before was still as mysterious to her as the night sky. Echo had taken over the family and though kind and loving towards her she would swear there was a darkness within him that would never be quenched, he had even taken to ruling the family with an iron hand and it scared her when she saw it. [break][break] She needed time away from it all and so left the house early in the morning making sure to not wake anyone or be seen by what remained of the staff. After her little incursion to the grand mana zone of shadow it always felt like she was under someone's ever-watchful eye, she was completely understanding given her current condition but at the same time, she wanted to be able to even walk the gardens on her own. She had heard the servants speaking of the tree decoration tradition and that the church was hosting four this year, she even found out where they were being located. Given her adoptive families current reputation, she doubted it would be wise to head to the Royal Capital or to Raque as there would be many magic knights and they may want to arrest her. [break][break] She feared that if she went to the common region then she may get lost and not be able to find her way home, more than that she believed if Echo had to come to find her again he would be cross and with his anger, she was sure that someone would be harshly punished for allowing her to get in such a predicament. Instead, she decided to remain in the forsaken region as if she did get lost at least Echo wouldn't be as upset. There was another reason that she couldn't put her finger on, this region was important to her somehow but her heart hurt as she couldn't get through the barrier her mind had to let her remember what that was. She remembered that she needed to bring something to put on the tree, her own ornament was carefully nestled in the bag she was currently carrying. [break][break] She was armed with a paper map that she had a servant mark with all the markets and festivities that were going on in the forsaken region. It was a harmless ask as she apparently liked to shop and the maid believed that it may get the young master out of the house so everyone could breathe for a bit. This wasn't her intent and though she felt guilty she wanted to be able to take back some of the power she seemed to have lost since she got injured. She managed to get to the location at Silvert Lake just as the priest started talking, she listened intently and took his words to heart. She wished Echo was there to listen also because it may allow him to understand that he didn't have to be a tyrant to the family, that it was fine to change paths otherwise made for you to walk on. [break][break] She stood still as everyone walked forward to talk to the priest or even place their items on the tree. She had the sensation that someone had felt the same way about her at least she thought there was. Her eyes closed as she dropped her head a little her fists clenching. She wanted to remember, she wanted to know what she was missing, she wanted her old life back. Tears started trickling down her cheeks as she feared that this would be her future, that she would be doomed never to know who she was in the past. She knew in the long run things in the past couldn't be changed for better or worse but they did shape the person to who there would become going forward but all she had was a big black hole where her past should be. "Please... I want... I want to remember..." She whispered in almost silent prayer.

"Everything is theoretically impossible, until it is done!"
It turns out that trying to look around wasn't as simple as Frankie had initially thought. A decent sized crowd had shown up for the ceremony and they cluttered the area. Whether they were moving to decorate the tree or talking to the priest they swarmed all around the area. The mad mage didn't even want to think about how bustling the other trees were. It was part of the reason he had decided to come to Sivert Lake rather than any of the other place a tree was being hosted. If he thought this place was busy he would have felt any of the other trees were unbearable. At least the Forsaken Region was far enough away from most places that most people didn't want to bother making the trip. It typically meant that only locals would come to this area to partake in the celebration. Or at least that is what he would have thought. Frankie had just managed to claw his way through the bulk of the crowd and come out to a more open area when he found himself not far away from a woman who not only didn't seem to be a local, but also seemed to be crying.
Stein coldly analyzed the situation, trying to assess the woman before he came to any conclusions. Although she wasn't dressed in anything gaudy or bejeweled she didn't appear to be a local of the area. Her attire and more importantly her appearance didn't seem to be worn out from hard labor or many of the other day to day stressors people of the region had to contend with. He didn't want to assume she was a noble based on her fair appearance, but he also was betting she wasn't from the area. Perhaps her tears were because she had gotten separated from someone in the crowd or perhaps someone had gotten rough in all the jostling and she had gotten hurt? There could be any number of reasons on how she had ended up in tears. He supposed though there was only one way he could find out for certain. As a Green Mantis Magic Knight it was probably his duty to intervene if there was something he could do. No doubt if he did nothing and someone noticed his disregard and reported it he would get an earful from the Captain. The Green Mantis wasn't exactly renown for following the rules at the best of times, better to save their misbehavior for when it mattered.
Frankie made his way towards the woman and coughed ever so slightly as he reached her to make it clear he was trying to get her attention. "Excuse me. Is everything alright? You seem to be distraught. As you do not appear to be with anyone else I am speaking to you to make sure nothing untoward had happened. I've been told that my appearance can be unsettling, but I can assure you that I am a Magic Knight. What can I do to assist?" Frankie smiled in an effort to be disarming, though it likely made him look slightly unhinged. He also pointed to his Green Mantis mantle in an effort to show he truly was qualified to assist and was being honest about his status as a Magic Knight. This was not an area of expertise for him. Trying to talk people into giving information or making them feel better was simply not within his wheelhouse. Intimidating was something he could manage, but he didn't need to assess to know that was not the correct tactic in this situation. He supposed he would just have to muddle his way through and hope that he didn't make the situation worse. Surely he couldn't be reprimanded for helping poorly could he?

Right now looking at herself in a mirror all she could see was a stranger staring back at her and it was disconcerting. To her no one should ever have to live a life like she was currently, it wasn't fair to have to go through this. She didn't believe she was unkind or cruel but she may have been as much of a tyrant as her fiance Echo but by how Zeus had spoken to her about herself it seemed as though it was the complete opposite. She was a warm, kind and loving woman who wouldn't even try and swat a fly. That was calming to know but at the same time, she knew it would make her a weakness. [break][break] Hearing a voice she looked up and took a few steps back seeing a man so bizarrely dressed gave her quite the shock, it was just a natural reaction as other than Echo, his family and the servants she was very much isolated. "I... I'm sorry for my behaviour" she whispered with a weak smile, "I wasn't expecting anyone to speak to me, especially someone not dressed as eccentric as you, my lord." she was polite, she didn't know his standing and that was no business of her so decided to just remain polite as she spoke to him, more so since the family that cared for her didn't like magic knights all that much and so she was anxious to be around them in case she got into some sort of trouble. She looked at him her forest green eyes glassy from her tears. [break][break] "Thank you for showing me such kindness my lord, you are right I am here alone." she confirmed to him, she looked as he pointed out the Green Mantis mantle and the symbol on it to show he really was a member, she raised her hand to touch it but quickly brought it back shaking her head wondering what on earth was she thinking. "I... I have amnesia you see..." she gripped her sleeves once more, it was clearly a coping mechanism for her "I won't go into how it happened because I honestly don't remember but I get so upset and frustrated that I don't know who I am. I can only go on my fiance and his families words." a few more tears fell "I want to remember and so I came here to put an ornament on the tree and in the hopes someone to cross someone from my past life." she whispered. [break][break] She looked at the leaf stricken ground "I was hoping that Sylph would hear my prayer through my ornament and help guide me to someone that could help me with answers to questions I believe my fiance doesn't want to answer for fear it may hurt me." she said honestly moving into her bag be brought out a glass ornament with a little gold at the top but inside it, there were colourful flute lilies in the colours requested although she didn't know it when she chose to bring it. "My... My name is Hinota... I'm sorry I forgot to mention sooner my lord." she eventually said realizing she hadn't introduced herself, it likely wasn't the smartest idea but at the same time neither was sneaking off to do this. Her eyes soon moved to the bauble she brought it was a vast contrast to what she was wearing, it was vibrant with colour where she was monochrome in white and black. [break][break] It made her wonder if she use to wear more colourful clothing in the past, she must have done as her hanfu was colourful. She was now starting to wonder about some of Echo's words, she didn't want to call him out as a liar without just cause but he had told her she had been with his family since she was a preteen so surely she should have had clothing at his estate but an entirely new wardrobe had to be made for her. He had given a reason for it and she accepted it at the time but now she was wondering just how true it was but she didn't really know anyone to ask such a personal question. It could also just be her anxiety running havoc in her mind whatever was going on something had felt off since the beginning but without memories, she couldn't say one way or the other what it was or if there was anything really.

"Everything is theoretically impossible, until it is done!"
Sure enough, Frankie's sudden approach had likely unsettled or put the woman on her guard. He watched as she took several steps back, but he did not approach closer. Rather, he made sure to give her some space. The mad mage had remembered a chapter on personal space and its importance in a book relating to talking to strangers. Apparently, it was some invisible bubble that you could invade and people would get upset by. Frankie didn't quite understand the concept. At least as far as he was aware it wasn't anything one could observe in the physical or mana spectrum. However, it supposedly existed and from his experiments invading the space of others the evidence truly did back the claim. So, based on those earlier experiences he knew better then to crowd the woman. If he suddenly stepped forward again she might feel threatened or at least make the situation more tense then it already was. Instead, Frankie opted a strategy he had seen others perform. He simply stood there and nodded his head as he let the woman speak. He had seen other people do this exact same thing and they were lauded as great listeners. Though, he still wasn't sure why simply being silent and nodding your head earned such praise.
Still, his strategy clearly had its merits. The woman had no trouble speaking and despite the initial discomfort provided all manner of information without needing to be prodded or guided. Frankie got a name, her reason for being here, some interesting facts about her mental condition, and was even thanked for his troubles. He had never been thanked for doing so little before. To be honest, once he had found out her tears weren't directly related to any threat or anything else he was duty bound to deal with he would normally have tuned her out and wished her a good day. It wasn't his job to cheer people up or make them feel better. He'd leave that to softer touches or the clergy who loved that sort of stuff. However, one specific thing she had said had caught his interest and would make any conversation worthwhile. After all, how many chances might he get to interact with someone directly who was suffering from amnesia! Was it physical in nature? Psychological? Perhaps it had been induced by magic in some capacity and thus could be removed through the appropriate talent of Healing magic? He had never gotten a chance to study someone with amnesia before, this was a whole new avenue for him!
"Firstly, your application of the term, Lord, is misplaced. I appreciate you following etiquette, but I do not hold any such title. I do not hold land, have no servants, and I have zero wealth as all of it is currently tied up with my pursuit of higher knowledge! However, as you have introduced yourself it is only protocol that I provide my own name. I am Franklin Stein, though you can call me Frankie." The mad mage was hoping that by making his status clear and by providing a nickname for her to use he might help remove some of the barriers that were no doubt in place between two strangers. If he had it his way he was about to ask all manner of 'inappropriate' questions about her amnesia so the more comfortable she was with him the better. "You mentioned praying to Sylph? Are you religious? Is that something you distinctly remember despite the amnesia or just something you are hoping will work?" If she were religious perhaps there was a church someone missing a member of their congregation who might be better able to provide background information to her amnesia. Asking the patient herself might not lead to reliable data. "I am a bit of a scholar and would love to talk to you about your amnesia if that is alright. In turn perhaps I will recognize some name or be able to provide some new context that may assist you. Or perhaps I will know some way to cure it altogether, though no promises on the latter I have no expertise in Healing magic. Nonetheless your desire to know your past superseded your discomfort so maybe it will be worth it. I can ask you some questions or you can recount what you do remember. Any detail may teach me... I mean help me in understanding." Frankie would have loved to just dive right in with all his questions, but he understood that by doing so he might spook her and lose his chance. He would need to approach this delicately and steadily, like a surgery... or a vivisection.

[attr="class","tamaflowersscroll"] She remained still listening as she was told she had used the wrong term when speaking to him, that he had no land, no servants and wasn't a noble. To her, this meant very little as people could be noble in other ways due to how they decided to live their lives or the pursuits they decided to follow. "I do not believe I have mislabeled you, my lord. Allow me to explain?" she would ask as soon as she was given the go-ahead she would do so. "The family you are born into makes you nobility by birth but I personally believe that it also makes you hollow as it can come with the expectation the world owes you something." she explained holding her sleeves "A truly noble person will do things like you yourself are doing. They go out of their way to help those suffering, to protect those who can not do it themselves." her voice showed she was being sincere. [break][break] She smiled faintly "Also the pursuit of knowledge is seen as a noble cause is it not and going by how your eyes almost lit up when I spoke of my amnesia you seem like such a noble soul." she continued "So, to me, you are worthy of such a title but I will call you Lord Frankie if it makes you happy that way we both get what we want in some manner of speaking." this was her attempt to make a compromise with the eccentric magic knight that stood in front of her seemingly wanting to help her in the best way that he could. She looked to the tree for a moment "Born to nobility means there are also expectations set on a person, that others of similar status would wish to manipulate and tarnish for their own purposes." she said her eyes going back to him. [break][break] As he started to bombard her with questions "I personally don't remember if I am religious but my fiance's cousin told me I was but not to the four great spirits of this land but to the gods of the land my family called home." she informed him, that wasn't so personal, by her accent it was clear she wasn't from Clover originally it was more from a far off land. "So, this is me praying to the spirit of the wind in the hopes that my memories will come back to me on the wings of birds and the currents they use to fly." she said her voice soft almost tranquil as she spoke about such things, it was like saying those words she had almost broken through a barrier but it was still holding strong and so though she could feel it, it was still out of her reach. [break][break] She would listen to him once again, it was clear that though she could benefit from it he had a stake in this too as he wanted to more or less what made her tick at current. "As much as I would like to help you with your research Lord Frankie, I am not a test subject nor a specimen to be examined so I must decline such a request." she said feeling horrible that she denied the man that was trying so hard to help her. "I do not know you at all and by how you have spoken to me I don't need my memory to know this is our first meeting." The last part was to show that he couldn't pretend that they had known each other in the past to get his way, though, she didn't believe he would do such a thing. [break][break] Moving forward she looked around the tree for a place to put the ornament that she was still holding in her hands, bringing it to her lips she closed her eyes and whispered a silent prayer into it before moving to her tiptoes as she opened her eyes to put it on the tree. She didn't expect it to work but she remember servants at the Jaegar estate saying that miracles often happened at this time of year. To her, there was nothing wrong with taking a leap of faith because without it she knew she would never recover from her current affliction. Going back to the flats of her feet from her tiptoes she turned to look at Frankie once more "As thanks perhaps I can buy you something to eat and drink? It's the least I can do for you coming to my aid." She knew she shouldn't really be doing this given what had happened recently but he didn't seem to have a problem with her and she didn't want to give him a reason to have one.

He, of course, got bored real quickly because crafting jewellery was a slow process that often was very detail orientated. Still, the man tried. On the day the fire mage was scheduled to leave Kikka for the exams the man called the young mage into his workshop. [break][break] He was just finishing up a double ring set and told him to put every wish and promise he could into a single flame and release it onto the ring. Somewhat sceptical the fire mage did what he was asked and thought it was for some sort of trinket for the woman that had helped him grow. The man placed the ring into a box and handed it to the budding mage. [break][break] "Valo, we see you as our son and we are proud to see the man you've grown into. A woman who themselves couldn't fight due to their beliefs. "Everything is theoretically impossible, until it is done!"
Frankie had wanted her to retract her label of lord, but instead he found that Hino was doubling down on her proclamation. He cringed outwardly, finding the title left a bitter taste in his mouth, but as they were having a civil discussion he allowed her to continue with her explanation as she requested. "Please do." He offered to make it clear that he would give her the chance to speak up. The mad mage might have been a little bias when it came to nobility, but he always enjoyed civil discourse. A chance to have a debate without letting it devolve to petty squabbling was always welcome. So, he stood there listening to her present her case. There was a moment where he had wanted to speak up. Make it clear that she was jumping to conclusions on his behalf if she were assuming that he would go out of his way to protect anyone. However, she had continued with a point that he simply could not refute. Although there were some brutes out there who might disagree Frankie was of the camp that believed that the pursuit of knowledge was a pure and noble thing. How could he refuse her request to call him Lord if he were going to stand by his beliefs concerning such a noble goal?
"Your reasoning is unassailable. As much as I might like to deter you I suppose I will have to agree with your compromise." Frankie did something he rarely did, he gave the woman a low bow. If there was one thing he could respect above all others it was the ability to use logic. She had earned his respect by deftly wielding logic against him in their conversation. "I will only say this though. Please never assume that because of a profession or someone's interest that they are moved to protect or care about those who are suffering. Motives can be far more complicated then titles. Consider this a bit of advice from someone who wishes to return welcomed knowledge with some of his own." Her argument had been sound and because of that he felt she was an intelligent woman. However, she also seemed like she could be a bit on the naive side. That could get her in considerable trouble if it hadn't already. It would be a pity for someone who wielded logic so well to be thwarted by her innocence.
Frankie nodded his head as she answered his questions about religion. Her accent had indeed informed him she might not be local, but he was still intrigued by the idea of other religions. As he wasn't religious himself his interest was purely academic. Besides, depending on the history and tenants of this religion it might create some fascinating juxtaposition that he could use if he were ever in a position to debate a member of the clergy of the Four Great Spirits. "I suppose it cannot hurt. If there is time at some point I would be very curious to learn more about this religion from your home. That is if this cousin of your fiancé gave you any more details on it. Although we do attract some immigration to Clover Kingdom the Church works hard to make sure their faith remains the most dominant. So, literature on anything else is far more limited." There was always a chance that she only knew what little she had already shared, but it couldn't hurt to ask. He didn't think it was a personal matter as she had already shared this much about herself, certainly not more personal than admitting to being an amnesiac.
Besides, Frankie's disappointment that he could not research her was clear on his face as she rejected the request. He supposed he couldn't exactly blame her, although it didn't keep him from pouting. "I understand. You have free will to decline and outside of a criminal in my custody I would not force anything on someone unwilling." Frankie had said the last part to reassure her that he would not try to force anything, though perhaps talking about experimenting on criminals might have the opposite effect. Given how much harm criminals could inflict Frankie saw it as a penance that they be used for the greater good. So his own views on experimentation of those people were far less, black and white as they might be with other Magic Knights. "It is true that this is our first time meeting. Had we met previously I would have already made it clear as soon as I heard of your amnesia. I've read that recalling the past with those suffering from amnesia can potentially bring those memories back so I would not have hesitated." It would have made for a great study after all, to see if certain memories were remembered while others were not. Or if there were physical signs as brain synapses fired triggered as memories returned. He certainly wouldn't lie about it. A false narrative would only risk tainting any data he could have collected.
Frankie said nothing as she placed her ornament on the tree, giving her time and some peace to allow her to do whatever she needed to do. He figured she would offer another prayer as she had mentioned previously wishing to do. He may not hold the same beliefs as her, but there was also no benefit on trying to keep her from pursuing that faith. Besides, perhaps the act itself might rekindle some lost memory and that would be worth studying. When she was done he had figured they would part ways, but instead she had offered to keep the conversation going with meal and beverage. Frankie's eyes rolled to the back of his head as if he were trying very hard to think on it all. When they eventually rolled back he smiled and spoke, "Yes, according to my calculations I am past the recommended time to meet my body's nutritional requirements. I will happily accept your offer. Though I do not believe any aid was given so in turn if you have questions for me I am happy to answer. I will follow your lead, I think there are a number of close by establishments as well as even some stands that locals have set up to sell various foods and drinks. The ingenuity of people to find ways to put food on a stick astounds me." As Franklin had a tendency to get lost in his work he could go days or more without eating, sometimes even passing out from neglect. He had devised a convenient fist sized ball that lacked any flavor, but contained all nutritional value he might need. However, he supposed it wasn't the same thing as eating real food. He was a serious miser, so he was all too happy to take Hino up on her offer and save himself a few Yul. Money saved today was resources he could put towards experiments later.

Ryoshi sighed to himself as he approached the tree of sylph with a blue aura bulb in his hands, it had been a while since he had joined the Eclipse Raven organazation and there was no sight not sound of anything moving at current so the white haired hunter decided that the best thing to do was to lay low and avoid causing any trouble at current. At the same time though he knew it was good to go and blend among the others in the land so he could gain vital information so he decided to play nice and go to one of these four elemental trees he had heard about with a bulb containing a bit of his aura to decorate it, as he arrived he glanced around and saw a good few people here decorating the tree and while many were garbed in various shades of colors he was still in his usual attire of white training pants and boots and his white coat buttoned up this time to keep his bare chest from being revealed while his swords were strapped to his back as always.
As he reached the tree he closed his eyes for a moment as he used his enhanced hearing to pick out any conversations that might have caught his interest and while most of it was inane prattle one sentence caught his attention and he had to resist the urge to smile sinisterly as he focused on where the voice had come and caught sight of two individuals and he headed that way to see if he could hear more, as he approached he would use a simple aspect of his pure aura magic and make a small tendril with three claws to grip his ornament and extend it up to the tree before he would place it on a high branch then let the aura fade into nothing, turning he would make it so he would bump against Hinota but not enough to knock her down as he blinked and gained an apologetic look on his face.” Oh my apologies I should have been looking where I was going when I turned around are you ok?” he questioned his eyes flicked to Franklin for a moment but in no way that would cause suspicion.

[attr="class","temppost"] Today was the day, of Yule and festivities, although Magnus often took to dressing in his usual suit of blue and black today he decided to wear something special, a red and white suit, composed of fur and a red hat with a small white puffball on the end in the spirit of Yule. He was awoken with the sound of knocking at his door per usual, dressed, and ate with both Margret and Elaine as he did every morning, except today it was with the welcomed surprise of giving the two of them presents. He had bought them both two new hairpins both of which were made from silver and held blue roses on the tips of them. Only to learn that they, in turn, had gotten him something as well, the two of them had spent tireless hours working on a portrait of Magnus and Fantelo with the two of them alongside him, hoping that it wasn't too vein or hubris, of which both Fantelo and he loved the portrait and had spent the vast majority of the morning trying to find the perfect place to put it within his home, eventually Magnus opted to put it over the fireplace in his study so that he could cast the occasionally gaze upon it when relaxing and reading.
After such an exciting morning and sprits of cologne which smelled of maple syrup and a hint of mint, Magnus made his way to his next destination. The yule ball, and though many might think the man was out of place in such an outfit, Magnus hoped the fact that he had come bearing gifts would offset such, within his carriage rested a large red bag, filled to the brim with toys for the children of clover and as he passed children on the street occasionally he would have his carriage stop so that he and Fantelo could pass them out amongst the townsfolk. Eventually, he came upon the ball grounds and sadly, he found himself having to change out of his suit for the time being, not because he cared what people thought but simply because the festival grounds was too hot, however, after leaving the ball and switching back into his yule outfit, Magnus would make his way to the Tree of Sylph, he figured his day would be jammed packed and he had no idea how many stops he would be making at the ball, but he had a meeting today of which brought him a world of great excitement. A few days prior Magnus had submitted a request to have an interview with the Captain of the Blue Rose, and to his surprise, it was granted within the same day, and set for today off all days. As he had work to do for his family and still wanted to take out the time within his day to be charitable he invited not only the Captain of the Blue Rose but her orphanage to the Tree of Sylph of which he would have members of his family not only set out tables and food for and confectionary sweets for charity but also to assist the church in their needs as well as a plethora of donated gifts from his family and couple dozen he had either bought or made himself.
Many of these gifts were wrapped in vibrant manners of wrapping paper filled with color, patterns, and topped and sealed with little red or blue bows. Magnus made his way toward the church first, as the first thing he had in mind for him was organizing his f family members to set up chairs, tables, and the food. With tables on the way of being set up and the man in purple robs haven spoken from the back of his carriage Magnus would grab multiple rolls of royal blue tulle. He had heard of the tradition, and as such, he had made sure to prepare in advance in his hands he took two rolls of the blue tulle and began to drape on the tree until the appointed time of his meeting.

A masterfully crafted two-inch long white gold pin in the shape of a paintbrush in the middle of the handle lays a very rare unique sapphire blue moonstone.
At the origins of house Aurelius being recognised as nobles a set of eight unique pins were made, each pin was designed with a specific artistic or scholarly pursuit in mind and each having a differing type or rare gem or variant of a semi-precious gem inlayed on it somewhere. One was then given to each elder of the house.
The way they decided who would wear which pin was dependant on the pursuit that aligned with each pin. This meant the elder who found beauty in the craft of calligraphy would be given the pin which had the scroll and quill whereas the elder who found beauty in gardening would wear the pin-shaped like a rose in full bloom.
As an elder retired they would pass the pin to their successor. Who would then take on the responsibilities of every elder that wore the pin before them. It is believed that every elder on their final day of wearing the pin puts a slither of their mana into it so they might be able to guide those that come after them. Some elders have said they have felt the presence of their ancestors from the pin especially during times of great turmoil or stress.
They've said as they become more attuned with their craft and the understanding of their duties the pin has given them a strength they didn't know they otherwise possessed. It is because of this these pins are seen as more than just a status symbol but something to be proud of and protected so that the future of the family can continue in its pursuit to serve those that would require their services.

The sound of wooden wheels could be heard making its way down the trail, the driver directing a horseless carriage as it made its way towards Sivert lake. Inside, Victoria sat inside going over the numerous gifts that she had brought. Since it was the Yule season, she elected to dress up as a female version of St.Nick; consisting of a short red jacket, skirt, and red-heeled boots, and striped stockings while handing out presents to any children that would be there. She expected there to be a decent crowd of people here even with the other 3 spirit tree events happening in the other cities. The fact that this was taking place in the forsaken region as well gave her a wonderful opportunity to build up some good publicity for herself and be seen as a caring and humble noblewoman giving back to the needy and poor. She would rather not have to interact with the peasant folks but as the future Blue Rose captain, she needed to put on a front and she knew that she would gain more support with this endeavor so she'd just have to put up with it.
After another 30 minutes of travel, she felt the carriage coming to a stop before the door opened allowing her to exit out and see Silvert lake in its entirety. For being in the forsaken region, Silvert lake was far more beautiful than she thought it was going to be. She had heard tales of how clear the waters were as well as the appearance of the cherry blossoms that surrounded the shore which made this an ideal location for lovers to visit in the summer but there was still great appeal with its current winter look. The water had completely frozen over with a light dusting of snow covering the surrounding grounds giving the appearance of a winter wonderland even with the cherry blossoms currently being dead. Numerous families had already arrived and were scattered about, children playing in the snow filling the air with laughter and joy while building snowmen or having snowball fights. Signaling to the driver to bring the gift bag, Victoria walked forward, snow crunching under her boots as she followed the crowd gathering around a figure in purple robes.
Arriving with the crowd outside the church, she directed her family retainer to drop the presents off inside so that they could be distributed as she moved to join the rest of the masses. As she listened to the church member give his speech on the festivities, her eyes darted through the sea of patrons, seeing if she could spot any familiar faces around. She quickly noticed Magnus towering over the rest of the people here as well as what she assumed to be some of his family members in attendance. She mentally noted to take some time out to go and speak with him especially since she heard that he had submitted his application to join the blue rose squad. From what she had found out, he had exceeded the requirements in order to join so she was sure that by the end of the week, he would She also noted that there was a royal knight in attendance as well, only peripherally aware of her as all her information came from the rumors of others.
After the priest finished his words, Victoria moved forward with the rest of the crowd in order to set her decorations onto the evergreen. She had elected to bring a set of about a dozen yule flowers in the colors of blue, white, red, and gold feeling that it would work well with the location. She had positioned herself to be the last person to add their decorations as she wanted to be sure to place her flowers in the most ideal spot in order to accent the beauty of the tree as well as highlight the other decor that she felt were deserving of it. She found many of the items that were being put up on the tree to be rather tacky and cheap but as this wasn't her event, she elected to hold her tongue and merely continued to move forward as the line grew shorter. She noted Magnus wrapping the tree in tulle that was royal blue in color and found herself nodding at the choice. She could always count on Magnus to have some class and fit her standard of beauty.
It was finally her turn to move forward and Victoria looked over the evergreen with a critical eye, walking around it numerous times as she considered where to place each of her flowers. She noted a few other decorations that caught her eye; one being a paintbrush that looked custom made and the other being what looked like a multitude of budding plants inside of a frozen bubble. Nodding once she finished mapping out the locations of each of her decorations, Victoria set about putting each of them in a different spot moving around as she meticulously placed each piece. Once she was finished, she moved back to look at her handiwork, a small smile creeping on her face as she was happy with the results. With that business done, she turned and move towards Magnus to strike up a conversation with him. "A good Yule to you Sir Magnus. I was delighted to hear that you sent your application into the Blue Rose squad."
To say that quite a lot had happened since he left the town of Nairn and the tree dedicated to Gnome was a fair understatement, though that just went to show how much was going on in the country when you knew where to look. Already going out of his way to cut wood and help a family through the cold winter months, aiding a noble who had fallen ill with a food drive he had planned to help out the locals and dealing with a bunch of other problematic incursions, he had at the very least managed to deliver a small bauble to the tree of gnome. Paying the appropriate respects for some of his dwarven allies, the next thing on his list was to pay respects to the tree of sylph for the elves. And he already knew exactly what to deliver, as it seemed to match at least one of the requirements, or so he’d find out later.
So as he made his way into the area on the back of his trusted black stallion Nuck, there was one thing that already stood on when compared to the other tree he had visited, namely that this one seemed to be a lot more crowded. Not really expecting as much at first, Griswold figured that there might have been more people coming out to pay respects in these parts, even though they had less to give. Leaving the black horse to graze out in the open, the black knight wandered away from it to let it do what it did best. Stand around, eat and wander off when it got bored. Strangely enough, it turned out that he himself had never been to Sivert lake before, likely never having seen the point in going to a place that seemed so serene and fairly far from places like Hage and Aries Garse where there was always something to do.
During his approach, there were a good deal of faces that seemed familiar to him, though familiarity in his case ranged anywhere from having seen them once to having seen them a thousand times. Spotting Franklin and Magnus, who he had come to be more familiar with due to the amount of missions and other undertakings they had been part of, he also saw Hinota and Victoria. Feeling that it was a fairly interesting turnout of different people, at least more so than the case had been with the tree dedicated to gnome, he made his way towards the main attraction. Reaching under his coat, he brought out a blue scarf that had been inlaid with silver wire to give it an ornate and old look as they clearly did not make them like these anymore. Though it had been a gift to him, Griswold wasn’t much of a scarf man, figuring it would be better suited on the tree.
Besides, once they took the tree down and either stored up or sold the trinkets and baubles for the sake of the church, he imagined they’d put it to better use than he could. Wrapping the scarf around a branch once so it wouldn’t just be ripped out by the wind, the fact that it was somewhat heavier than the average one would likely aid in that. Once he had done as much, he began listening to what some of the other people here were discussing, knowing it was considered rude to tag into a talk between people like that. Whether the place would be worth sticking around for a while or not remained to be seen, though he had at the very least managed to do the bare minimum for which he had come.

[attr="class","temppost"] Magnus was absorbed in his family duties that he barely noticed the people around him that is until he heard a familiar voice of someone he could now call a fellow squad member, however, although the congratulations was appreciated, Magnus couldn't help but think that he hadn't gotten the chance to do what he would've liked for the squad yet as a whole. After all, family business at the moment was booming, in doubt due to the fact that some of the other Elders wished to see how he would manage to be both a magic knight and an Elder, especially considering he was the first Elder of the family to actually do such. He wasn't the only Elder to ever be in the members of the Magic Knights, not by a longshot, but he was the first to be both an Elder who was in the magic knights at the same time as he held his Elder seat. When becoming such a Magic Knight his family had called a meeting and even his uncle Augustus had made a movement that Magnus be removed from his seat as he served out his time as a magic knight. The notion was thankfully denied and as such Magnus was spared at least a little reprieve from the impending headaches.
Today was another matter though he got to have a bit of reprieve, and though he was still in charge of all the family members running too and from to clean, serve food, and decorate the tree as was the yule tradition, he felt as if he could finally let his hair down so to say. Magnus turned to Victoria with a smile, having removed all signs of worry and stress from his face before turning to meet her gaze. "Ah Lady Victoria, a good yule to you as well," Magnus said bowing slightly with one hand over his chest, one leg partially out. "Thank you, Lady Victoria, as am I, to have made the cut. Who would've thought they would've allowed this old man to join," Magnus stated with a bellowing laugh. The truth was Magnus knew at least in appearance that he didn't fit what Blue Rose usually went for, but he knew at least his personality was similar to such; strength, poise, excellence, Magnus knew for a fact that those were things he had in spades. So he was grateful that the Captain, or rather now his captain was able to recognize those traits and his accolades and allowed him to join. Even if he had to take the Magic Knights exam instead, Magnus was more than willing to do whatever trials and tribulations he had to join the squad. As his fingers momentarily draped across the Blue Rose mantle with a loving touch his late daughter's memory flashed through his mind, and the words that came to his lip were ones that were simple but laced with gentle gratefulness that came from the depths of his heart, "I am truly happy." Magnus said to Victoria in almost hushed tones.
His eye seemed to water before he pulled whatever wet tears would fall back into their tear ducts with sheer willpower, his eyes would be dry once more and his smile growing ever brighter. He took notice of what Victoria was putting on the tree and with a smile, he stated "I like your decoration, very elegant, I'm sure it will be a lovely addition to the tree. This tree will be the best one yet," Magnus mused with more joy-filled laughter. Then his eye caught a couple of other people he had recognized, Griswold, Franklin, and Lady Hinota. Magnus waved his large hand in the sky in their direction, "Happy Yule, to you all!" He shouted, loud and proud before directing his family members to send food and gifts their way. Magnus in turn began to rummage through the large red sack he had that contained gifts, took them out, and handed one to Lady Victoria as she was the closest. "For you, Lady Victoria." This gift held a blue bow and white roses that decorated the wrapping paper, and although none of these gifts were made custom for the individual he had a good idea of what each one was, especially because he had wrapped them all himself.

Summary: Magnus heads to the Tree of Sylph, he brings other Aurelius family members with him to set up food, drink, and confections. He's wearing a Saint Nick suit and has a large red bag filled with wrapped gifts for the children of clover, and bought with him a blue tulle to put around the tree. The paintbrushes are ornate in design, with swirls of small patterns and silver in color. They have purple bristles that fade into white at their tips. Nothing is too special about these paintbrushes on their own except they are sturdy and have no need for a palette as they are capable of producing any color of paint on their own with a small infusion of mana. These paintbrushes were a gift to Magnus from his mother when he was younger and as such he cherishes them dearly but also uses them for his magic. However, as they are a magical set, they all share the same durability, thus if his weapon was to break even if it was just one paint brush due to an attack capable of destroying a junior rank weapon all of them would break.
Victoria noted that Magnus had seemed to be a bit distracted when she greeted him, his shoulders appearing a bit tense though nothing showed on his face as he turned. "I didn't have any doubts that you would have made it in Sir Magnus. Given that rather bizarre adventure that we went through in the forsaken region last month." she stated, attempting to reassure Magnus that he had proven his worth to be a member of the Blue Roses. Some of the members had voiced their concerns and opinions when it had been announced that Magnus would be joining the squad. They had had a point given that Magnus didn't physically embody the traits that Blue Rose members were supposed to meet and should never have been allowed to join as a member. Captain Alyssa though had quickly shut down any dissenters stating that it had been her decision at the end of the day and that Magnus had fulfilled the requirements to become a member. Victoria had also taken the opportunity to speak in Magnus' defense as he did embody the 3 virtues of strength, poise, and excellence.
"I'm glad to know that you're happy with the squad Sir Magnus. I know things are a bit tense now with the others not being fully on board but I'm sure that they'll eventually come around once they get to know you better as I have." she said, patting him on the arm in an attempt at comfort. In her opinion, if any of the squad members still had an issue with him, they would have to just suck it up. He had done more to contribute to the squad, both before and after joining than any of them had in their entire membership. And that was going was going to be one of the first things that changed once she became the captain of the Blue Roses. Too many members in her opinion were allowed to slack off and seemed to grow at a snail's pace in strength. Yes, a majority of them were of common birth so it wasn't as if she expected them to be able to grow in leaps and bounds but it was still abysmal. Once she became captain, she would be implementing mandatory training sessions with those who failed to meet her standards having their membership being reevaluated.
Going by her estimates, it should only take her another year before she would be a match for Captain Alyssa in battle and had taken to studying the older woman and her magic in order to craft strategies. As she was thinking this, she noticed that tears began to appear in Magnus' eyes before the older gentleman managed to regain his composure as he moved on to compliment her decorations. Part of her wanted to ask if he was okay, but she wasn't sure if she would be up for the task of actually comforting him if it turned out that he wasn't so instead she elected not to acknowledge the moment if he didn't. "Thank you so much. It had been a bit difficult for me to choose what decoration that I wanted to bring as I had no idea what other sort of ornaments would be going up there so I simply decided to go with something that work well with the tree itself regardless of whatever else was up there." she said, a small smug smile appearing on her face as she noted others admiring her rose decorations including Bacchus whom she hadn't seen since much of since the celebratory event that had been thrown for Magnus.
She had been about to wave him over for a conversation when Magnus had once again surprised her by handing her a wrapped Yule gift. "Oh! Sir Magnus, thank you for this. I hadn't been expecting to receive any Yule gifts while I was attending this event." she said, a hint of surprise tinting her voice as she moved to carefully remove the wrapper and opened the gift, gasping in surprise at what was inside. Staring back of her were a pair of fire flower earrings using rubies set in a design that reminded her of a leaf. Lifting one of the earrings into the air, she noted the glint of light coming off of it showing that each of the gems had been exquisitely polished. "Sir Magnus. This is beautiful. Though now I simply feel awful that I haven't gotten you anything." a small pout on her lips as she fixed both earrings to her ears. She would have to rectify this at her earliest convenience and endeavor to get something as equally befitting for Magnus to express her thanks.
