Though normally containing their trickery to their own realm, it is during Spring that the tricksters known as the Spriggans pass into the material world through portals in nature-rich regions. While they don't hate humans, they don't feel any kind of affection for them either, which allows them to pull some elaborate, mean and potentially fatal tricks on them. Receiving word that something has been going on around the Town of Silva, many of the nobles have been fearful of breaking a nail, a leg or in the worst case, their neck, and have requested outside assistance.

What NPCs are in this mission? Please fill out the template for any notable NPCs. While those you have to socially interact with during the mission are not required, any enemy that is presented in the mission must be listed here.
[break]Magic Element and Types: Plant or Wind | Trap Magic & Sensory (Illusion)
[break]Combat Style: These Spriggan focus on causing mayhem by planting various traps around a building they have infested, using illusions along with their innate shapeshifting capabilities to take on the appearance of common houseplants, cabinets, chairs or even small animals like cats, rats, mice and sparrows to conceal themselves. While they do not hit very hard, they are very clever, and very fast.
[break]Additional Information: The Spriggan, a fae creature seemingly made entirely out of wood and plant material are tricksters through and through. Not really caring who they hurt in the process of their trickery and pranks, they don't cause mayhem out of a need to hurt people, but because they don't believe people will stay dead or injured, as such a thing is not common in their own world. Aside from being highly energetic, they do not speak the human language, nor do they care to learn it.
"Amelia..Amelia..RUN!!" The shadowy figure in her head yelled at her in the midst of her sleep, Amelia waking up in a bit of cold sweat as her eyes darted open and her awareness kicked in. Sitting up the wind breezing through the forest tree lines aided her comfort, enough so that she wasn't afraid anymore as her ears and nose twitched picking up the scents of nearby animals but nothing that would signified immediate danger, or worse but her senses couldn't pick up mana accurately.
Anyway, wide awake due to her own dreams Amelia began to rise to her feet, left hand on right leg as she pushed herself up and groaned as she stretched her body out, she had been sleeping underneath the tree for the night , she was in a dense part of a forest right on the edge of the Noble Region, Amelia didn't know why saying or even thinking of it made her feel something in the depths of her heart but in either case after a year and a half she decided to finally make her way in to see it, she didn't know what to expect but she hoped nothing untrode would happen, at the very least she didn't want to be heckled out, not that she could handle it anyway if it happened.
Naturally, Amelia wanted to be clean before going, or at least as clean as possible and so she made her way to a waterfall that touched down into a smaller lake grabbing a drink first by cupping the water in her hand a few times before undressing herself and began to wash over her skin with the water, she hadn't been dirty but atleast the water made her feel more mentally secure.
Cleaned up moderately, Amelia began to make the rest of the way through the Noble Region, her destination was particularly the town of Silva that was managed by the Silva family, a long standing family of nobility that preceded her and most likely would outlast her yet it was this town that requested her help as a hunter, how they found out about her? She could only assume and all answers left her at the powerful assets and information gathering skills nobles had but she excused all that and tried to make the best of the trip, if it was the usual monster or beast it would be all the same to her, death before mercy. She didn't know why she held on to that rule but it was a certain code of hers, at least when it came to monsters.
Looking up the sun was still high in the sky but daylight was burning no matter what so it was time for her to get a move on. Continuing her walk through the rest of the forest something was aggrivating her nose a bit but she couldn't pin-point the smell, it was spring so maybe it was allergies but the closer she got to Silva town, the more it bothered her until she was a good sixteen meters away and the smell she was making out was the smell of burning wood.
What in the world was happening! It was a quiet day. She was meeting with a Silva Noble to discuss an gemstones over tea and a building just went up in flames. The noble shouted something about this not being the first time and fled but the Girl was not about to just walk away. Just imagine, her taking down some Arsonist and being crown a hero. That would make The entrance exam so much easier for her. She knew it. However, first there was the issue of the building. The girl donned her Dark green hood from her cloak. Unfortunately she was wearing a lime green dress that came to her knees which was not made for action but she was going to make due. She kicked off her tan sandals and then quickly moved onto the scene.
"Is everyone okay? Is there anyone inside?" She shouted among the panicking crowd. "My Puppy!" a young boy shouted while being held back. Were puppies considered important enough to make one a heroine. Another round of crying from the kid signal girl to groan and start running. There was still an open entrance and she did not expect this to take forever. After all, the dog was probably barking the whole time. So it should be a super easy to find it.
Once she was under the heat and smoke, the girl realized this was not going to be easy. Still, she was not leaving empty handed. The roaring of the flames made it incredibly difficult to hear but with enough focus, she was able to catch a quiet whine. That whine lead to a back room and under a metal table was a scared small pup. As soon as she appeared, it started barking a storm. Was it dumb? "Look, I'm here to save you. So be grateful so when we come out, I look better!" She reached for the pup only for it to bark again and charge her. Instinctively, the girl activated her mana skin but was surprised to find to puppy on her shoulder barking at something behind her. She turned sat up and turned around but nothing was there. The dog started whimpering before burying its face into her chest. "Don't worry. You can bark when we are outside."
The girl quickly darted to the exit of the room as the fire continued to spread. As she left, a wave of flames flashed in front of her. However, the dog was safe and her mana skin protected her from the heat. For now, she was good. So she kept running but then a loud snap froze the girl. The fire roared like a stampede but, vines started to break through the ground. She could see the exit but there was no way of getting the dog out without it being burned or her getting ensnared. So so did the only thing she could. Shifting the dog into her left arm, she pushed her right hand out with an open palm and jumped into the air. Diamond erupted around her forming a protective sphere around both her and the dog. The girl could see the vines ensnare around her Diamond Marble. Then burning debris crashed over top of them.

Nose bothering her as she was seeing the exit of the forest straight ahead, Amelia thought it was just allergies but as she stepped out of the trees and towards the edge of the entrance of Silva town she could now see the smoke rising into the air that the treelines had blocked out from below, "A monster..? No, there's no screaming..human?" Amelia wondered to herself, she tried not to get too involved with other human affairs, she honestly didn't care much as her business and what kept her alive was monster hunting, still, she had pre-arrangements in Silva town that would earn her a big paycheck, she could use that for a rainy day so she went to investigate despite not wanting too.
Not so much a run, but more of a jog Amelia entered the town and got a closer look at the burning object, a almost ivory white that was slowly turning black as bubbles of burning paint fumes rose to the air in a ominous black smoke color. There was a crowd gathering outside while a girl around her age seemed to be taking care of making sure everyone was out, Amelia stayed somewhere in the middle watching, it was spring season so there was enough moisture in the air that the fire would be contained but they needed to put it out quickly. It seemed everyone who wanted out had gotten out so Amelia thought the situation over and even turned away from the crowd to go handle her business, however before she could a boy yelled out about his puppy and the girl seemed to be all over it, "Wha.. wai-t" The girl of course didn't hear her as she had ran inside before Amelia could push and shove her way through the crowd after her, although she did stay out of human affairs this seemed almost unnatural and the girl risking her life was rather alarming even if her heart was in the right place.
She followed her but Amelia wanted no part in trying to be a hero, so although the flames and smoke made it hard to breathe exceptionally so she was able to hold out enough to see the girl in fact reach the puppy she was going for. But what happened after that was what really got her interested, instead of running the puppy was growling and Amelia felt a bit of a tingle upon her skin, she couldn't sense anything beyond the smoke and fire but she felt like..something was watching them or something and it kept her on edge, when she turned however she found nothing there and even the dog stopped barking, definitely some creature was at play here but she have to worry about that after they got out the burning building.
Save the hero, that was Amelia style.
Finding a piece of a umbrella melted into a almost sharpened weapon Amelia quickly took it in her hand as she ran towards the girl and the dog, before the marble closed they could probably see her for a split second as she used the fashioned weapon to swing at a horizontal angle as she zipped left and right cutting the vines, in the split second she had she abandoned the weapon and with raw strength she lifted the entire orb off the ground and put it right over her, the crashing debris of the building falling around the orb and her as Amelia began to use the orb itself as protection against the fire along with her mana skin, leaping out the small escape that was on the second floor as she crashed back onto the ground, rolling in the dirt alongside the orb, body singed a bit, "Fuck.."
Oh no... she was not alone. Someone else had came in after her. This was the worst. If this person got hurt then the blame could be on her. If she saved them, then she would get all the credit and she would look like a fool. She clenched her fist stuck in her Diamond Marble and waited for which terrible option would befall her. However something weird. When the person who came to rescue her slashed at the vine, nothing happened to the vine and the person kept moving, probably reactively assuming they slashed them and moved on to their next thought since the building was like on fire and they could have died. However, the vines would suddenly disappear and she caught the glimpse of something that didn't look human. Still The girl closed her eyes and waited for the worst as this was no time to worry about vines being there or not.
Suddenly there were two big thunks, followed the air inside the marble cooling and then the marble started rolling. After about 2 rotations, the girl dispelled her marble and her and the dog slid onto the ground with the dog protected between her arms. "Ouch... ouch..." she said reactively despite not really being hurt due to her own mana shield and looked around. They were out of the building and the crying boy from earlier charged them to pull the puppy away. He was so happy to have his dog and the dog replicated the reactions barking excitedly. The girl stood up not waiting for people to noticed her since she was not really the hero anymore and started walking away, but something caught the corner of her eye. A sparrow flew out of the burning wreckage. "What the..."
The girl attempted to run off while pulling further down on her hood in the direction of where she believed the sparrow went. This was her only opportunity make a difference. If she could catch that sparrow, the arsonist then she would completely salvage this whole situation. As she ran into the direction she believed the sparrow went into she, obviously lost track of the animal. There was no way she could keep up. So she stopped and tried to think about the situation. There were vines in the house fire. That meant, the arsonist had plant magic for sure. Fire could be made without magic but not the ability to spawn vines so quickly from the ground. So if she could find... more vines, then obviously that would leader her to the culprit.

Leaping out, Amelia eyes widened for a moment, she was crazy as fuck for jumping a story high but it was the only way they were getting out with the building going down. Falling to the ground a curse word slipped from her lips as her back felt pain but only for a few moments, her mana skin held out. Dusting herself off she really wish she hadn't gotten involved as the little boy rushed the girl for his saved puppy, they were a bit confused on the details of what happened while they were in there but the puppy was alive so they were about to cheer.
the crowd flicking back and forth between Amelia and the girl it seemed she had other things on her mind as she looked up, Amelia looked up as well seeing a sparrow fly out of a burning building, sniffing the air she could smell the burnt smoke of wood on the sparrow, if the vines were the first clue that was the second this was indeed some creature. "Oh~! Osseoia..!" Amelia quickly swiveled her head in the direction of her client, Turner Silva. "The creature's I contacted you about, they did this I'm sure of it! I did research on them, they are called Fae, mischievous shape shifting creatures! You got to knock them out before someone gets killed!" Turner was on a bit of a fit but he was right, if these Fae caused a house to burn down she imagined they could do much worst snce they could shapeshift into anything most likely. "Thanks, I'm officially on the job now." Amelia said now focused on the objective of knocking these creatures out. They couldn't have gotten so far, the girl or the Fae, Amelia attempted to do what she did for the Fae as the crowd began putting out the burning out, Amelia sniffing the air for the scent of burned wood that would most likely still be on the girl or around her, catching something Amelia began running towards that location and eventually happened upon the same girl again.
"God, you're such a hassle to keep up with. I don't know who you are but you're after the sparrow right? I was just told by my client that the sparrow and the one's who burned the house down were Fae, magical shapeshifters. They could likely be anything within the forest. The people thanked us by the way, I didn't take credit so you go take it when this is done. Say I'm you're partner or whatever but I'm going to hunt down these Fae. I assume you're going since you ran all the way out here to chase it.
The girl stopped after hearing another girls voice behind her. The girl turned around and noticed it was the "hero" who "saved" her from the burning building and basically ruined her chance to get credit for saving a dog. Well, it was not really even worth it to save the dog, a poor man's gamble. She was ready to lash out but still answered as nice as her anger would let her. "What of it if I'm looking for the stupid sparrow?"
Yet another blow would strike at the girl's attempt to improve the hand she was dealt. This Hero was now also well informed of the situation and she was hired to deal with it. This was just fantastic. She turned away so she was not forced to hold onto a smile she did not want. "Great... shapeshifters." the girl commented. She was no where near prepared to deal with such an enemy. The best she could do was just punch everything and anything that moved or didn't move. However, the Hero would surely beat her to the target if she were to do that strategy. With this bad news, did come something a bit more positive.
Apparently the Hero did not take credit for the fire rescue. The girl's face lighten up, allowing her to turn around. Still she stopped before her face could be revealed as she was not smiling. "Wait really?" The girl stood there for moment. If the Hero did not take her glory then there was hope that she did not lose everything. "Well, I don't like the idea of creatures burning down buildings for fun. So I suppose, it can't be helped if we have to work together." A smile returned to the girls face and she started running forward. "Lets go then, I think these things lay traps. I cannot sense them so if you-" Before she could finish, magic flashed below her and a sudden gust of wind blew beneath her, "SENNNNNSE THEEEEEEEM!"
However, she did not feel any wind. Looking down, her clothes were not even moving. Despite so much air "blowing" around her. There was also something else on the ground. A small mouse suddenly ran into a home right next to were she stepped to set off the trap. That was the clue they needed. A wave of joy flooded the girl as there was hope that she was back on the trail. No matter what happened, she was going to push forward and stop these fae.
The girl rushed into the building either with an overwhelming level of confidence only for another magic trap to go off and vines suddenly grew around her acting as a cage. Little the the girl know, these were just Illusions. "Stupid Fae! These tricks are getting really irritating. You all better stop before I become a whole lot less nice!" The girl than slammed her fist together and activated her Amber's Strength spell. Amber grew over her hands and feet since she did not have her gauntlets on her. Then she took a deep breath to ready herself for a fight.
Smelling the air for burnt wooden smoke, Amelia found her way to the exact girl she wanted to see, the girl looking away when she happened on her, speaking up, Amelia asked if the girl was looking for the sparrow after she called her a bit of a hassle to deal with. the tanned girls response causing Amelia left eyebrow to slightly curl upwards as she felt the level of sass coming from her.
Choosing to focus on the task now at hand Amelia let it go as she explained what she had just been told minutes before, again her mood shifted from what was first a bit of sass to full on annoyance, "Not like I asked to deal with these annoying pests either." Amelia said walking up to her side giving her a side glance. Stepping away from that topic Amelia wanted no part in the whole "hero" thing, that wasn't her and although she did save people sometimes, she would never claim anything with it. Perhaps she was being to humble, perhaps she didn't want to see civilians smiling at her but speaking behind her back the moment the hero does something wrong.
So she told the girl the credit for the dog was all hers, and almost immediately the girl brimmed up and spun around at her. At this point Amelia face went neutral as she realized this girl was a classic fame chasing mage, "Yeah, all yours." Amelia answered back a bit dry, the girl now seemed to not mind working together and the moment she turned around Amelia released a silent exhale hoping the day wouldn't be too long as the girl began to run forward in a rush again. Why did this kid waste so much energy? Geez.
However almost immediately the girl mentioned something about trap magic and just then her body jolted weirdly and secodns after Amelia felt a gust of wind on her but nothing was moving around her, "I think we don't need to find them, they already found us." Amelia answered back since the girl asked about sensing them. Seeing something moving on the ground Amelia noticed a mouse running into a house close by, yeah. They were literally inviting them in, conceded Fae's.
Once again the girl went first and almost immediately got caught by another trap, "Maybe slow down and you wouldn't get caught so much.." Amelia said as she watched the girl struggle for a few moments before getting free of the trap. "Do you want to play?" She heard a mixture of voices ask this as in front of them about a odd number of foxes and bears appeared(3 bears/4 foxes) "Were not here to play, but we do need you to stop playing tricks and laying traps on the town people." There was a bit of silence in the air, "No! WE WANT TO PLAY!!" The voices screeched with defeaning silence as one of the bears charged forward running up to them and then standing up for a claw strike. Dashing in Amelia ran right towards the bear as it stood up, leaping into the air and grabbing it's head as she thrust her knee into it's face, The Fae transformation disappearing as Amelia wasted no time knocking it out.
Laugher Filled the room sending the girl into a mini rage. She punched the vine forward of her but she just phased through the vine. "Another stupid Illusion. Okay! Listen here. No more games. I'm ending this now!" She tapped her right leg with her right hand and a sapphire streak ran down her legs. It was then that the Hero gave her stupid advice, reminding her of the Deacon. "Argh, I got caught cause I was too slow! But now, I'm warmed up. So I'm about to show you what I can really do!"
In front of her was were a horde of animals. Foxes and bears? The girl just laughed, almost falling over. These fae acted all cocky but the best they could come up with was bears and foxes? This was not going to be fun at all with how weak she assumed them to be. However, getting them back for almost burning her alive... and the dog she supposed, was going to be satisficing at least. It was at this time that the creatures spoke something in what she assumed was their own language. The girl did not know what it meant but given how happy they looked, it clearly was a taunt or maybe them thinking this was a game. The girl's laughter got deeper, then darker, and finally sadistic. "Here's a game. How long will you all last."
Still the creatures acted first, or should she say one of the bears. It charged forward but the girl jumped and grabbed its head so she could hurdle the creature. She wanted to be in the thick of the action and besides, the hero was behind her. She could take care of this bear. The girl on the other hand was going for something more impressive. After hitting the ground, she dashed forward over twice as fast as she was before. She jumped and grabbed the snout of one of the bears and slammed it into the ground, knocking the creature out and revealing it's true form. Then she spun around and kicked the next bear into a wall with a heavy and meaty strike. That bear too undid its transformation and revealed its true form. "If yall can transform. Why don't you turn into something more dangerous like a tiger or maybe a golem." She then flipped over to the last bear. "Your not even giving me a CHALLENGE!" She landed with an axe kick into the last bear's head. The foxes all jumped on her clawing and biting her but it was not enough to fully deplete her mana shield. She grabbed the one on her head and then crushed it between her hands why laughing. "Oh now you want to fight! So much effort, but so weak hahaha!" Seeing their friend go down so easily the last two foxes jumped off the girl and tried to escape out the front door. Only they would be force to witness their bear friend who the girl jumped over go down to the Hero.
The girl did not bother chasing them. The hero was there and she wanted to at least catch a couple of these Fae. How could would it be if she could bring them out. And it would serve as proof that they successfully beaten them.
The newly transformed Fae that had turned into the bear quickly found Amelia knee being driven right into it's head, Amelia using her other leg to kick off of it's body moments before it's transformation dispelled as the other girl made quick work of most of the creatures, two attempting to escape she assumed as she was blocking the door.
Amelia upon landing on the ground her speed would actually increase, her body was almost like a animal itself now and the more she got into a fight the faster and stronger she became in a way, a fact she proved by moving at 7 m/s as she dashed forward using both hands to grab the foxes heads mid-movement and slam them to the ground, grunting Amelia than spun her body around throwing the two transformed Fae further back into the house, smacking the wall hard they both transformed back into there regular state, they had just knocked out all of them.
"Color me impressed "hero"" Amelia said as the house around them began to distort as they realize that instead of a house they were in a cave covered in roots all over, "Looks like there out cold, my client didn't order any killing so I suppose I shall take my leave now that they are stopped. Feel free to take all the credit from the town people though. Later Hero." Amelia said taking her leave as quick as she came, she was completely uninterested in fame. Returning to her client to deliver the news the job was done Amelia took her payment and found herself scarce into the night.
That was it. All the fae were defeated the town was saved. The girl started to round up the defeated creatures when the Hero started giving her praise and even calling her hero. "Well... you know... It wasn't... all that. and stuff." She was blushing not expecting such an complement. Especially after that critic about rushing to the house. "Anyway. We should totally team up again! See you around!" With a genuine smile she dragged the fae creatures to the leading nobles office. (exit)
